Black & White running for 11 nominations in Golden Bell Awards

For this year's 44th Taiwan Golden Bell Awards, action drama series, Black & White scored 11 nominations in various categories like Best Male Lead, Best Supporting Male Actor, Best Drama, and Best Screenplay. It faces tight competition against romantic comedy, My Queen, which garnered seven nominations in the same categories.

Lauded for his resounding performance in Black & White, Vic Zhou will be vying for the Best Male Lead award with newbie actor, Mark Chao, who plays a fellow cop in the drama.

Shooting to fame from his titular role in Black & White, Mark was shocked to be informed of his nomination and humbly commented, "I would like to thank Vic for giving me so many pointers. I really learnt a lot from him."

Mark referred his Best Male Lead nomination - for his first-ever acting role as a "miracle" and claimed that it was his best birthday present so far. Mark's birthday falls on September 25.

On the other hand, Vic, who is currently in Hong Kong filming a commercial, appeared calm and composed when he was informed of his nomination and expressed his thanks to everybody.

Tsai Yueh Hsuan, director for Black & White was interviewed and asked to share his two-cents on both Vic and Mark's nomination for the Best Male Lead award. Director Tsai felt that Vic deserved the nomination for all the hard work he has put in over the past few years, and commented that Mark was as "capable" and had "pretty good luck". "This is quite tough, if I am the judge, I will definitely resign and not take part in it!"

Taiwanese actor-singer, Show Luo, was also nominated for his role in the sports-comedy drama series, Hot Shot. Show's exhilaration was visibly plastered all over his face as he shared, "I am really very happy. I would like to thank the judges for their recognition. I did not expect to be nominated after acting in a comedy."
