Star Circle Quest Season One holds a rare reunion
by Cherry Pineda | August 16, 2009 12:35 AM |  The first batch of Star Circle Quest questors got together for a rare reunion when Sandara Park was recently in the Philippines for a brief vacation. Last August 13, Raphael Martinez, Michellle Madrigal, Errol Abalayan, Joseph Bitangcol, Neri Naig, and Sandy met for dinner in Makati. Roxanne Guinoo, Joross Gamboa, and Melissa Ricks were unable to make it because of prior commitments but they had met Sandy earlier that day for a reunion on Ruffa and Ai (the reunion episode airs August 26.) Hero Angeles was in Tagaytay taping a teleserye and couldn’t make it to the dinner either.Some of the former questors had not seen each other for as long as three years. Errol and Neri had retired from showbiz and settled back into their normal lives. Raphael or RJ is trying to get back into shape for another shot at showbiz. Michelle just finished doing a teleserye while Joseph is part of Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Sr. presents Tiagong Akyat which premiered August 15. Sandy has been making waves in Korea and the rest of the world as part of the girl group 2NE1. The old friends swapped stories and there was a fair amount of teasing when Joseph arrived. Joseph had admitted at the ABS-CBN trade show that was held that same night that he was nervous about meeting with Sandara again. But aside from a few good-natured jokes, all was good between the former couple. Sandy gave her friends copies of 2NE1’s mini-album and the group from YG Entertainment taped interviews with the questors for the 2NE1TV features. The group would have wanted to go to a videoke place but they were too tired, especially since Sandara was up at 4 am to make it for her 8 am flight to Manila that morning.

Lorna, pinatikim ng malakas na sampal si Gabby!

HINDI naging mahirap kay Lorna Tolentino ang magbalik sa harap ng kamera, matapos ang malungkot na pangyayari sa buhay niya. Sabi nga, malaking tulong na si Gabby Concepcion ang nakasama niya sa pagbabalik niya sa teleseryeng Dahil May Isang Ikaw, dahil matagal na niya itong kaibigan. “I’m very happy to work with Gabby again. Matagal-tagal din kaming hindi nagkasama sa isang project. Kaya nu’ng malaman ko na siya ang makakasama ko, natuwa talaga ako,” sabi ni Lorna.  ‘Yun nga lang, hindi raw naging maganda ang mga unang eksena nila ni Gabby, dahil malulutong na sampal agad ang ipinatikim niya rito.Sa isang eksena raw nila sa Dahil May Isang Ikaw, kailangang sampalin agad ni Lorna si Gabby. Sa simula, tinangka raw nilang dayain ang sampalan, pero nahalata raw `yon ng direktor, at kitang-kita rin sa monitor, na daya ang sampalan. Kaya, nag-usap daw sina Gabby at Lorna, na gawing makatotohanan ang eksena. Si Gabby raw ang nag-suggest kay Lorna na ang panga niya ang targetin, dahil malaki naman daw ang panga niya, at matigas. At `yun nga ang ginawa ni Lorna kay Gabby. Na nu’ng sumigaw ng action si direk Jerry Lopez Sineneng, pinuntirya ni Lorna ang malapad na panga ni Gabby, `yun nga lang, tila nasobrahan sa lakas ang pagkakasampal niya rito. Kitang-kita nga sa moni­tor ang matinding sakit na naramdaman ni Gabby sa matinding sampal ni Lorna. At hindi rin naikubli ang pagbakat ng palad ni Lorna sa panga ni Gabby. Pero siyempre, after ng matinding sampal ni Lorna kay Gabby, agad naman daw nag-sorry si Lorna kay Gabby. At naunawaan naman daw `yon ni Gabby, at katunayan, natuwa siya dahil malambing na himas sa kanyang mukha ang ibi­nigay ni Lorna sa kanya. Kasama rin sa Dahil May Isang Ikaw sina Jericho Rosales, Kristine Hermosa, Chin Chin Gutierrez, Karylle, John Estrada at Sid Lucero.

Wonder Girls, talbog kay Sandara sa Korea!

DUMATING sa bansa noong August 13 si Sandara Park (o Dara Park na ngayon), pero, tatlong araw lang ang inilagi niya rito, which is for vacation lang talaga. Kaso, nakasingit pa rin kay Sandara ang ilang guestings na ibinigay sa kanya ng Kapamilya network. Meron daw kasing ginagawang dokyu ang grupo niya kung kaya’t ang iba pa niyang kagrupo sa 2NE1 na sikat ngayon sa Korea ay nagbakasyon din sa iba’t-ibang lugar. At dahil itinuturing talaga ni Sandara na tahanan niya ang Pilipinas, mas dito niya piniling magbakasyon ng 3 araw.  Sa loob ng 3 araw ay nagawa niyang makapag-dinner with her SCQ friends, nakapag-guest din sila na parang reunion nila sa Ruffa and Ai at nakapag-Subic din daw ito with non-showbiz friends.Kasama ni Sandara ang kanyang handler from YG Entertainment, ang talent management na humahawak ng kanyang career sa Korea. Ayon sa aming balita, mahigpit daw ang management ni Sandara, kaya hindi ito masyadong nakapag-grant ng interview. Sa catalogue pictorial naman ng Star Magic kunsaan isinama pa rin si Sandy dahil kapag dumarating naman ito ng bansa, ang Star Magic pa rin ang nag-aasikaso ng kanyang mga guestings at schedules, bawat shot daw ay kinukuhanan ni Sandara sa kanyang cellphone at pinapaaprubahan muna sa manager nito na nasa Korea. This time, ramdam na ni Sandara na kahit paano, tila bumabalik na ang naramdamang kasikatan noon. Mas marami na raw kasi ang pumapansin dito unlike before na talagang parang wala na halos nagbibigay ng pansin sa tinaguriang Pambansang Krung-Krung ng Pilipinas. Wala naman daw bitterness si Sandara kung dati-rati, nawala ang kasikatan niya at wala halos pumapansin. Masaya lang daw ito ngayon na na kahit paano, nagbunga ang paghihirap niyang magkaroon muli ng pangalan. Ang grupo nilang 2NE1 ay wala pa halos isang taon, pero, mas nauna pa raw itong sumikat at makilala via their single Fire kumpara sa Wonder Girls na 2 years na, pero, ngayon pa lang masasabing pumi-pik-ap ang kanta nitong Nobody. May plano raw na dalhin sa bansa ng grupo niyang 2NE1 at magkaroon ng concert dito, pero, under negotiation pa raw ang lahat ng ito.

‘Salamat Pres. Cory’, isasalin sa DVD
SI Kris Aquino ang personal na pumili kay direk Bobet Vidanes para hawakan ang funeral coverage sa Manila Cathedral ng kanyang yumaong ina, si Kumareng Cory. “More than doing a friend a favor, this is our last chance na mag-thank you kay Pangulong Cory. Masaya si direk Bobet sa mga papuring natatanggap niya ngayon sa trabahong ginawa niya. “I think naibigay namin ng tama ang nararapat na pagbibigay-pugay kay Pangulong Cory. I feel very ho­nored to be given this chance. Dito nabigyang buhay ang slogan ng ABS - In the Service of the Filipinos Worldwide. At personally, naramdaman ko ang mas malalim na meaning nito – In the service of a TRUE Filipino, si Madame Cory”, sabi pa ni direk Bobet. 'WOWOWEE' RATES HIGHER WITHOUT WILLIE IS it true that the ratings of "Wowowee" went up when they had different hosts? This means Willie Revillame is not needed for it to rate higher, which means ABS management need not humor and persuade him to return after he packed all his belongings from his dressing room. Willie's problems doubled when Arlene Ronquillo sued him for saying on the air that her husband, Raymond, is single when they're married with three kids. This was first said in October, then repeated in March, having harmful effects to their children who are kidded in school by their classmates. Willie tried to correct this but last July 18, Willie once again said that Raymond is one of his friends na "iniwan ang kanilang asawa dahil sa babae", then the camera focused on one of their dancers named Aiko saying she's Raymond's ex-girlfriend. The complainant said this really badly affected their family. Willie is said to be planning to do a concert tour in the U.S. but Pinoys there who love the late Pres. Cory Aquino warn him not to go there anymore as they hate him for being so disrespectful to Cory. There is now an ongoing petition on the internet requesting ABS to oust him and about 50,000 people have already signed up.

MEGAN JOINS 'US GIRLS'
MEGAN Young is, at 19, the youngest host of Studio 23's "Us Girls". She joined it five months ago to replace Cheska Garcia who gave birth. She used to be "anything goes" in her getups but, as the host of a lifestyle show like "Us Girls," she's now more of fashionista who needs to be more stylish with the way she looks. "I'm also learning a lot from my co-hosts, Angel Aquino and Iya Villania," she says. "I get tips from them not only about fashion but also about good grooming, like having better skin." They're now busy with the 1st Us Girls August Awards, set on Thursday, Aug. 20, 7 p.m. at the New Eastwood Mall Open Park (cocktails precede the event at 6 p.m.). NAG-LAST taping day na nu’ng Biyernes ang seryeng Only You na pinagbibidahan nina Angel Locsin, Diether Ocampo at Sam Milby. Sa San Juan at Quezon City kinunan ang mga huling eksena nito. Sayang at hindi na namin napuntahan ang wedding scene nina Angel at Sam. Sobrang late na kasi ito kinunan. Pero ayon sa ilang production staff na nakausap namin, bongga raw ang eksena at parang totohanan ang kasalan. Si Diether lang among the stars ng Only You ang nakausap namin na nasa Quezon City location. Ayon sa aktor, apat na araw na silang walang tulog. Madalas ay umaga na raw sila natatapos then iko-call time sila that same day din ng lunch time kaya three hours lang daw ang kanilang pahinga. Pagkatapos ng taping nila nu’ng Biyernes, nagpunta naman ang cast ng Only You sa kanilang celebrity bazaar sa loob ng PDA hall nu’ng Sabado. Kahapon, nagkaroon naman sila ng outreach program sa Payatas. Sa August 21 mapapanood ang huling episode ng Only You. Pero hindi pa sigurado kung sa parehong timeslot ilalagay ang Dahil May Isang Ikaw na ipapalit dito na pinagbibidahan naman nina Lorna Tolentino, John Estrada, Gabby Concepcion, Chin-Chin Gutierrez, Jericho Rosales, Kristine Hermosa, Karylle at Sid Lucero. * * * SPEAKING of Diether, ibinalita ng aktor sa amin na kinausap na niya si Mang Dolphy para sa remake ng pelikula nito nu’ng dekada 70 na Ang Tatay Kong Nanay. Gustung-gusto ni Diether na gawin ulit ang pelikula. Kung saka-sakali, ito ang unang pelikula na ipo-produce niya. Siya ang gaganap ng role dati ni Mang Dolphy at gusto niya si Santino para naman sa role ni Niño Muhlach. Ikino-consider naman niya si Piolo Pascual sa role dati ni Phillip Salvador, ang lover ni Dolphy sa movie. “Humingi na ako ng permiso sa kanya (Dolphy). Kinausap ko na siya. Ang sabi niya sa akin, ‘alam mo ba na ’di ako nanalo do’n?’ Tapos tinanong niya ako ulit kung gusto ko raw ba talagang gawin ulit ’yung movie. Sabi ko, sobrang gusto ko!” kuwento ni Diether. Tinawagan na rin ni Diether ang scriptwriter na si Racquel Villavicencio para kuning scriptwriter ng pelikula. Ang Tatay Kong Nanay ay idinirek noon ni Lino Brocka. Sino ba ang gusto niyang magdirek nito ngayon? “Hindi ko pa alam. Ang dami ko pang direktor na hindi nakakatrabaho. Siguro, isa sa kanila o baka si Direk Rory (Quintos) na lang,” kuwento pa niya.
