“April Snow” Starring Bae Yong-joon to be Shown in 10 Asian Countries (2005/02/25)

The movie “April Snow” starring Bae Yong-jun will open, perhaps concurrently, in 10 Asian countries in coming September. The distribution company of “April Snow” said Feb. 24 that it has already signed contracts with Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, and is currently in talks with Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and other Asian countries. The company said movie distribution companies in these countries want to release and promote “April Snow” concurrently with Korea.

"Each of these countries plans to market the movie according to our schedule. We have devised a detailed plan for holding press conferences for foreign journalists and launching a tour around Asia prior to the movie’s release," said a person close to the company.

”April Snow,” whose filming began on Feb. 4 in Samcheok of Gangwon Province, stars Bae Yong-joon and Son Ye-jin in the lead roles. It portrays a man and a woman who, after being betrayed by their former lovers, fall in dangerous and heart-wrenching love with each other.

na-intriga ako sa movie na toh. syempre, i wanna know kung ano ang follow up ni BYJ sa Untold Scandal. hehe... though i'm not very thrilled about Son Yeh Jin. No offense meant to her fans, I know she's a great actress, medyo in doubt lang ako sa on screen chemistry nila ni BYJ... :)

Actor BYJ and SYJ became utterly exhausted in the end of shooting for a bed scene which continued no less than over 9 hours.

BYJ & SYJ finished shooting for a bed scene containing love of a man & a woman appearing in the film 'Oe Chool(April Snow)'(Directed by Hur Jinho, Produced by Blue Storm) under extreme secrecy in a shooting site prepared in a hotel in Samcheok, Kangwon-Do on the past May 30.

For the two people, having been exhausted mentally and physically as they shot from morning to late in the night on that day, it was not trifling to act particularly because the bed scene was to continue in a long breath (take) for 2~3 minutes, commented by a staff of the film.

Regarding this, in the situation where there is hardly anything known about the story of the 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' other than a brief story-line all the while, it brings curiosity about in what look the bed scene by the two people shot on that day would appear in the film.

The bed scene in the 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is known as the scene of making passionate love while the two in the film were gradually confirming love for each other.

The two man & woman, who met in a strange place due to traffic accident of their spouses, cannot hide heart for each other. The bed scene also (is a result of) development to a physical love as they were gradually breaking down walls in each other's hearts as they had a date in a theater, etc.

The bed scene shot on that day was a scene BYJ was leading SYJ, having come out from a bathroom wearing shower gown, to gesture of love little by little. Although the two people showed acting of exposure during shooting of the bed scene, it is expected that its appearance will not be seen as sensational in the film.

It was known, however, that BYJ & SYJ created bold appearance which they have not shown previously including they revealed their hind appearances entirely to camera, etc.

The production company gave after talk regarding this that rather than taking in the exposing scenes, they depicted the two man & woman's love through sensual camera walking, etc.

The film 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is a new work by Director Hur Jinho, who is renowned for sensual cinematography and warm and private eye for love in such as 'Christmans in August' & 'One Fine Spring Day', etc., and it is a much talked about film gathering great interest domestically as well as overseas as Korean Current star BYJ & SYJ appear in it.

In the film, BYJ and SYJ met incidentally afater each other's spouses were admitted to a hospital due to traffic accident and gradually sympathize each other's hearts. The "Oe Chool'(April Snow)' will open simultaneously in 10 Asian countries including Japan as well as Korea on coming September 9.

As Korean movie 'April Snow's mini homepage exceeds 200,000 visitors 18 days after the mini homepage ( Open the link ) was opened, this cinema starring Bae Yong-joon and Son Ye-jin makes good box office expect in September when the film will be released.

Thanks to steady netizen's interest, 'April Snow's mini homepage which was opened on late July 11, posted the number of its visitors 218,492 people after all on July 29.

The movie has brought about so tremendous response as to draw netizen 20,000 people only in its first day of the mini homepage opening.

The movie's production firm said that key reason of this mini homepage popularity is attributed to the element with which the firm drawn the audience's participation and sympathy such as 'April Snow story making' and 'OST I make'.

Directed by Heo Jin-ho and co-starring Son Ye-jin from ``A Moment to Remember,'' the film tells the story of a man and woman who fall in love with each other after they find their spouses have betrayed them.

This cinema's plot is unrolled with a story in which In-soo (played by Bae Yong-joon) rushes to Samcheok upon learning that his wife Su-jin (played by LIm Sang-hyo), who was on a business trip, has been in a car accident.

There he finds Su-jin who is still unconscious in the hospital in an unfamiliar provincial town. In the process of dealing with the aftermath of the accident, he finds out that Su-jin was in the car with a man named Gyeong-ho (played by Ryu Seung-su), who is also unconscious and lingering between life and death.

The injured mans wife, Seo-young (played by Son Ye-jin), also rushed to Samcheok upon hearing the news. In-soo and Seo-young both feel angered and betrayed when they learn of the relationship between Su-jin and Gyeong-ho.

As they nurse the spouses they had trusted, In-soo and Seo-young feel a chemistry developing between them...

I saw Bae Yong Joon on arirang tv today and i cant wait to watch his April Snow movie.He's very handsome.

just wanna share... last friday kasi i was in glorietta with my office friends... manonod kami ng "40 year old virgin"... nun nakasakay ako sa escalator... hehe... shucks.... may malaking poster ng "april snow"!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhh!! sana commercial release ito... ndi art film... para mas maraming makapanood kasi ndi limited yun sinehan... at sana lang din ndi nila dub in filipino... i've nothing against filipino (siempre)... kaya lang feeling ko mas ma-appreciate ko marinig yun totoong voice nila BYJ and SYJ.... shucks... excited na talaga!!! at impressive talaga yun movie poster.... sarap nga iuwi....

Sabi din ng sister ko, nakita niya sa SM San Lazaro yung poster so I guess palabas siya sa lahat ng cinemas. Coming soon daw eh.I doubt kung art film siya. Natututo na ang Pinas na kumuha ng quality films na hindi galing sa Hollywood. :D

April Snow will be shown on local cinemas here in the Philippines on Nov. 23 (tentative date)...

Let's support BYJ and watch it in cinemas even if pirated versions are released in dvds. News of it's gross revenues will reach the korean producers so let's show them that there's a big fan group supporting BYJ in the Philippines too! :)

and hopefully, if pumatok sa takilya, they will let BYJ come here too! wah! :D

hey everyone! i was watching wazzup wazzup d other day tapos nakita ko yun poster dun...just wanna ask kung dubbed kaya ito ipapalabas sa local cinema...

I saw a standee of the poster in ROB PLACE and i asked the lady working there if kelan papalabas ito sabi niya ala pa definite date and soon pa... Im very excited to see this movie and sana both BYJ and SYJ would come to manila to promote theie movie...
