2) What the deal with Tong-dao (is it Tong-dao?), the guy who splashed water in Ling's face, is he just a crazy guy?
3) What's Tong-dao talking about Ling's past, something like Ling in a mental hospital?
4) What's the name of the theme song of the show? Is it Ai Zai Ini?

hey there.. will answer your question but i wont elaborate on it coz it would be spoiler.


1) What happened with Ling's twin brother?

He died. Sheng jumped off the roof of their school when they were 16 years old. As to why he committed suicide? thats what you gotta find out. hehehe... There were many issues and twist revolving the reason for why he decided to end his life.

2) What the deal with Tong-dao (is it Tong-dao?), the guy who splashed water in Ling's face, is he just a crazy guy?

I world like to call him a Psychopathic Homo. Yes he did came from mental hospital, let's say he is beyond crazy and very obssessed with Chen Ling. He thinks he and ling sahre the same passion in life (you have to find out what) and that they deserve each other.


3) What's Tong-dao talking about Ling's past, something like Ling in a mental hospital?

Ling did also came from mental hospital and stayed there for i think two years right after his twin died.


4) What's the name of the theme song of the show? Is it Ai Zai Ini?

Opening Theme Song: Ling (yes this is the title.. LING)- Alan Ke You Lun
Ending Theme Song: Rang Wo Ai Ni (Let Me Love You)- Zaizai Vic Zhou Yu Min (yes the one who played Chen Ling/Sheng. he's also a singer) and Barbie Xu Xi Yuan (Han Qi Luo)

5) Does anybody have a ringtone of the shows theme song for Motorola? I found some ringtones but it's all for nokia and others... I can't find one for Motorola..

No f4 is not involved in this drama whatsoever. But it's a solo project of one of the members which is Zaizai Vic Zhou Yu Min (Chen Ling).. And as said earlier, he also did a duet with the female lead Barbie called Rang Wo Ai Ni or Let Me Love You in english, which is the ending theme.

finally! natapos ko din ung mars nung monday... pinanood ko ung chap13 before lunch.... tapos chaps 14-18 nung after lunch... then chaps 19-21 nung gabi! sabi ko talaga sa sarili ko tatapusin ko ang mars! actually, mahirap tumigil... hehehe :D


before my reaction... kwento muna ulit ako. :D kwento nanaman about my sister... hehehe, chini-chismis ko na cya sa inyo... hehehe... kc naaliw ako sa kanya e. ang plan ko kc, hapon ako mags-start ng mars marathon... nung morning, nag-net muna ako... to check my mail & all... i was also downloading something for her... si ate naman, nag-aaral lang cya kc nga may exam cya everyday... all of a sudden, sabi nya sakin "oi, manood naman tayo ng mars!" ... di ko talaga napigilan, napatawa talaga ako... mejo napalaksa nga e... hehehe... sabi nya "bakit ka natawa? ... sabi ko naman "wala lang" tapos sabi nya "kanina pa ko nag-aaral e... break muna!" kaya sabi ko na tatapusin ko lang ung ginagawa ko then manonood na kami. kaya ako natawa sa kanya kc di ko ine-expect na cya ung magyayaya na manood ng mars... and alam ko nga na may exam cya so kelangan mag-aral, kaya nga di ko na cya iniistorbo tapos out of the blue nagyaya cya manood.... i was smiling the whole time kc naaaliw ako sa kanya. and there's more... usually, umaalis cya sa bahay around 2 or 3 pm kc may pasok cya. after namin mag-lunch, nanood na ko so cyempre pati cya nakinood na din... at di na cya nag-aral. hehehe... tapos sabi nya, "ayaw ko ng pumasok... kc naman ang layo pa natin... hanggang 21 pa yan.... hehe, gusto na din nyang ituloy-tuloy ang panonood. kada may magt-txt sa kanya, wini-wish nya na classmate nya un at sasabihin na wala silang class... most of the time kc ganun... unfortunately, may class sila so pumasok pa din cya... pero ako, tuloy pa rin ang panonood. hehehe, inggit na inggit nga cya e... im sooooo bad... hehehe... BI na kapatid... hehehe. :p tapos kahapon ng umaga, sabi nya sakin, "wag mo na kong ite-tempt... kaw kc, tine-tempt mo ko manood... pero gusto ko na cyang mapanood ulit" sabi ko na lang sa kanya na sa thursday&friday na lang cya manood kc wala namang pasok nun diba. well, wala naman cyang magagawa kc may exams pa cya e. kaso di talaga nya natiis... kaya kagabi, tinapos nya na ang mars... 5 chaps ata un... hehehe, di siguro cya mapakali na di matapos ang mars. :D

anyway, now that i'm done watching mars... i can say that it was worth the wait... i've been dying to see this series for.... hmmmm... almost 6 months, i think... or maybe more. worth it talaga! di lang dahil si zaizai ang bida dito (of course plus factor un :D )... maganda ung story nya... di lang basta love story na makikilala ni guy si girl... mai-inlove... then may conflict... then maghihiwalay... then magkakabalikan... then matatapos na ung story. actually, di ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko... speechless ba? i guess effect lang 'to ng mars sakin... nakaka-inspire kc ung stoy ni ling&qi luo... they were reallly meant for each other... they were able to heal the wounds inside each other's hearts ... si ling, natulungan nya si qi luo to open up & trust other people... maging matatag... pati maka-move on sa nightmare ng buhay nya. si qi luo naman, natulungan nya si ling in dealing with his past na tinatago nya through his happy-go-lucky facade... si qi luo lang ang nakakakita sa totoong ling... both of them were willing to sacrifice for the sake of the other... sobrang touched nga ako nung linapitan na ni ling ung dad nya kahit ayaw na ayaw nyang gawin un... he even gave up his dream of becoming a GP racer para mailayo si qi luo dun sa pervert nyang stepfather... naalala ko tuloy ung scene na natanggap nya ung invitation ng yamaha then tinapon na lang nya... sabi nga ni ling "this is what love is" hay... i can't help but wish that there is a chen ling for me too... hay... mushy mushy mode...

anyway, zaizai's acting skills indeed improved a lot! he can do fight scenes now... at hindi un mukang trying hard na fight scenes! naalala ko tuloy ung sa chap4... ung fight scenes nya with ah bin & his gang. i was really amazed that zai did that... pati na din ung scene nila ni tong dao sa rooftop ng hospital. ang galing din nya sa dramatic scenes... pag umiiyak nga cya, parang gusto ko din cya i-hug... dun sa scene na sinasabi ni ling kay qi luo ung nararamdaman nya kay sheng, pati ung about sa mom nya... na di daw nya alam kung pano mag-protect like a mother kc cya din di nya naexperience un & too late na din daw kc patay na si sheng... tapos naiyak na cya... pati nung naiyak cya after nyang malaman ung ginawa ng stepfather ni qi luo kay qi luo... kung pwede lang ba pumasok sa screen para i-comfort si ling, ne? hehehe... anyway, magaling din si barbie dito... especially ung mga scene na naaalala nya ung nangyari sa kanya, pati ung sa almost rape scene... nung nandun na cya sa may door tapos umiiyak na cya. galing! convincing din.


speaking of almost rape scene, di ko i-nexpect na same chap lang ung moving hip line scene/wall climbing scene and ung almost rape scene... nyahahaha, mas panalo nga ung wall climbing scene... lmao. :D of course, gusto ko din ung beach scene... nung sinabi nya kay qi luo na "What I want to tell you is that no matter what you have done, no matter what has happened to you, you always remain the same in my heart. You've never changed." . pati na rin ung sa may sand castle... na sabi nya "If it's destroyed, just rebuild it. As long as you wish for it, I don't care how many times I have to build it. We'll build it together."... awww... cyempre fave ko din ung mga comedy na scene! pinaka the best sakin ung na-recognize ni ling si qi luo nung first day of classess! panalo talaga sakin ung scene na un! kahit ilang beses kong panoorin ung part na un, tumatawa pa din ako. :D madami pa din akong gustong scenes... di ko na mai-enumerate...


nakakatuwa din ung friends nila, especially qing mei & da ye na parating nandyan sa tabi nila... totoong kaibigan talaga sila... natuwa din ako nung naging sila na... ang cute nila pareho nung sinabi nila kay ling & qi luo na may nangyari na sa kanila.... si da ye lumalabas ung dimples. :D hehe, cyempre ang kulit din ni ling dun! nakakatawa din si ah bin. nung nakipag-kaibigan na cyakay ling, ang kulit nya... hug cya ng hug kay ling... di ko tuloy alam kung ung smile ba ni ling ay smile na natutuwa kc friends na sila ni ah bin, or sarcastic smile kc nga hinu-hug cya ni ah bin maya't maya. hehehe. :D natawa din ako nung nakilala ni qi luo si ah jen. cya ung kapitbahay ni ling sa apartment diba? maniwala ka ba namang 19yrs old lang cya... ang layo! hehehe :p


as for the conflicts... si sha zi, mejo nairita ako sa kanya... kc diba masyado cyang pa-sweet tapos may pagka selfish pa... di ko napigilan na tumawa nung sinampal cya ni ling nung time na nahulog cya sa stairs tapos sabi nya kay ling na si qi luo ung may kasalanan tapos may inimbento pa cyang iba... buti nga sa kanya! but at least, in the end, tinanggap na din nya na wala na sa kanya si ling. si tong dao naman, creepy talaga cya... samahan pa nung song na un... perfect! so dun galing ung recluzze hug? :p in fairness, an jun can portrayed his role very well. may pagka-bitin nga lang ung ending para sa kanya... kc di ko alam kung talagang nagkaron cya ng memory relapse or umaarte lang cya na wala cyang matandaan. ung kay sheng naman, till now, nahihirapan pa din akong i-identify kung sino si ling at sino si sheng. hehehe :D ung dad naman ni ling, di naman pala cya bad... kc ung pagkaka-describe ni ling sa dad nya e parang ang sama sama nya. di naman pala. ung mom naman ni ling, hehe, she reminded me of sadako... the long hair, white dress, the creepy scene sa may tree. pero pretty din cya kaso lang may psychological problem din cya.


uhm... ano pa ba? ung ost... maganda ung ost nya. actually mas nauna pa kong nagkaron ng ost kaysa mapanood ang mars. thanks to zashi (tanda mo pa ba un?) gusto ko lahat! :D sana nga lang may ling na instrumental na acoustic version... ginamit din nila un diba? di ko pa napapanood ung fun fan run... pero nasilip ko na... chinese lang ba lahat un? may available translation ba para dun?

i know i have posted a number of times how much i loved mars!! It will always be the best asian drama series for me. That's why I love it when people post in detail about how much they love mars and how much the series moved them! thus, cutiangel thanks for those wonderful posts, it was heart-tugging and at the same time humorous which makes it such a joy to read.

sighh, i miss this drama..that's why i'm gonna pop in my vcds later and watch it again...relive those wonderful days when i would walk almost trance-like after watching an episode...relive those days when i cried and laughed as i witnessed one of the most beautiful love stories on television...and afterwhich, i will go on a wishing mode, dreaming and hoping for someone like chen ling in my life..( lol, i'm pathetic, go figure:( ) hey who wouldn't want a guy like Chen ling...a man who loves unequivocally and unconditionally...*blush blush* not to mention very gifted in those hip movements (darn!! erase erase!! forget i said that :D , it's holy week mcbeal for Pete's sake!!)

Which makes their love all the more deep and meaningful...I always think Ling considered Qi Luo as a part of him...his better half..that's why they could not envision themselves without each other...one word: soul mates.

great acting from zaizai, the anger, the intense look on his face...the way he gripped tongdao by the collar and you can see the dark side of ling emerging and i notice too...the blue shirt that fits his torso well, and those jeans and how he looked so damned shuai with his long fair blowing across his face..darn it! galit na nga shuai pa rin!

do you know why we zaichos called it the charming hipline scene...remember the scene where ling and daye was confronted by this girl in pink, the one where she bashed ling because tongdao was in love with him.. he answered that may be it was because of his "charming hipline"..they changed that in the english subbed version but that was laiou's original translation.

yup same chapter. that's why the effect of seeing the moving hipline scene outweighed the effect of seeing the almost rape scene which was what we were originally anticipating. it's an understatement to say that the moving hipline scene caught us by surprise!

I just dont get it why there are so many insecure "know-it-all types" of people are having apprehensions on MARS local airing. One dont need an Albert Einstein like mind to understand the series. If the teeagers in other countries were raving about MARS, I dont see why the average Filipino viewers cant.

A few commented that maybe GMA 7 staffers were irritated by the so many request on what to do and what not to do with the series. "ayaw pinangungunahan" they said. It's not our fault that there are still so many Vic Zhou fans out there. Are they not happy that many are eagerly awaiting this series?

I hope they are just finding the right time to air this. But I dont want to keep my hopes high that they can still bring Vic and barbie here to promote. They could have negotiated for it earlier since Vic & barbie are doing promotions in almost every country that MARS has been aired.

airing mars here or no doesnt make a diff to me... as to why most of us think that this wont be greatly appreciated here.. it's because the trend here, in general, prefer watching those not so serious drama or shows that dont require too much thinking and that the story is somewhat linear, where you could like predict the next happening... i've encountered lots of peeps who are reluctant to watch mars coz of it, especially those who are used to stories that have cinderella-type plot. mind you there are lots of them. and as you well know.. those narrow-minded peeps, who prejudge mars because of the lead... who are rivals to their fave. you cant count on them.. would you believe that to all those that ive recommended MARS. it's mostly guys who are willing to watch it.. it's because most of them watch anime and read mangas.. and when i told them that this was adapted from mangas, they're on the go.. or if ever, they are from courses like psych, behavioral sciene, etc...

Mars was a totally moving love story for me. Never before was I touched with a love story that is so deep and powerful. So I decided to convey the beauty of that love in this poem. I imagined if Qi Luo would voice her love for Ling, it would be with these words.

that gets me every time...like i said before it's a story of love and redemption...i always think too that they were made for each other. that somehow God destined them to be together to heal each other's wounded souls. Which makes their love all the more deep and meaningful...I always think Ling considered Qi Luo as a part of him...his better half..that's why they could not envision themselves without each other...one word: soul mates.

yah... i remember a line from that beach scene ... Unless we hold hand in hand, we will both lose the courage to walk out of the tragedies. ... hay, i want to watch it again! and again! and again! and again! and...... :D

do you know why we zaichos called it the charming hipline scene...remember the scene where ling and daye was confronted by this girl in pink, the one where she bashed ling because tongdao was in love with him.. he answered that may be it was because of his "charming hipline"..they changed that in the english subbed version but that was laiou's original translation.

If the teeagers in other countries were raving about MARS, I dont see why the average Filipino viewers cant.

I don't think GMA is getting irritated by the numerous requests and suggestions that they've been receiving from Mars fans. I heard that they do monitor forum threads to get insights from the viewers so I'm sure they appreciate the comments of fans, especially if it would redound to the benefit of their shows.

As for the apprehensions of some people, I think GMA really has to provide proper information and marketing campaign in order to tap the mass market. However, I still believe that solely by name recall, ZaiZai and Barbie already have an advantage in getting the attention of the market. It's now up to GMA on how they would properly sustain this attention and interest. :)

airing mars here or no doesnt make a diff to me... as to why most of us think that this wont be greatly appreciated here.. it's because the trend here, in general, prefer watching those not so serious drama or shows that dont require too much thinking and that the story is somewhat linear, where you could like predict the next happening... i've encountered lots of peeps who are reluctant to watch mars coz of it, especially those who are used to stories that have cinderella-type plot. mind you there are lots of them. and as you well know.. those narrow-minded peeps, who prejudge mars because of the lead... who are rivals to their fave. you cant count on them.. would you believe that to all those that ive recommended MARS. it's mostly guys who are willing to watch it.. it's because most of them watch anime and read mangas.. and when i told them that this was adapted from mangas, they're on the go.. or if ever, they are from courses like psych, behavioral sciene, etc...

But yeah, I try to keep myself updated and posted with how this marvelous series as escalated its status to even greater heights! It's been a while since I've last seen the whole series over again...but all I can say is that ALMOST everything in MARS can be portrayed in our VERY OWN LIVES! Rarely would you see such a masterpiece that you could actually relate to and reflect upon. I'm still raving over this series....can't wait to do a personal analysis on it. I just simply cannot wait for MARS to air in the Philippines. I'm praying for it to be a big hit in the Philippines! Like Meteor Garden! :) But if not kahit LIP's man lang! I'd prefer it to be on ABS. But I'd still be thankful atleast papalabas na dito! I was just doubting kasi when GMA showed Love Storm, it wasn't that big. Probably kasi sa hindi sa primetime pinalabas. But let's hope that MARS be appreciated by others. Though it may not be there type of story (I mean we love comedy-love), let's have some changes around here. Not all stories should be similar to eachother, It;ll be so predictable( although we love those kind). Mars is a one-of-a-kind story! Especially na yung mga cast!!! Kasi yung mga ibang asianovelas, the actors, they're not quite you know (for me). And they were appreciated by other people in other country. How will it be so different from us? (disc 7) i noticed something lang.. when it came to the part or three seconds (naks! nabilang ko:p ) before the part when teacher shi scolded them for eating during class periods, DA YE WAS HOLDING A PACK OF SOMETHING LIKE YAKULT (TAIWANESE BREED LANG NGA:p) .. yung pahaba pa un pagkakapack! lol.. wala lang. just found it amusing, hindi man lang tinanggal sa supot. talagang doon na sila umiinom, tutusukan nlng ng straw isa-isa.;)

...kaya naman pala bibong-bibo c chen ling! matapos tumungga ng sangkatutak na beer e may yakult on the side naman pala!;)

harhar. napakainsightful netong post ko. hindi naman mashadong halata na wala na talaga akong magawa noh?:p

Basking in the spotlight of over 100 members of the press

The afternoon of March 9, Vic Chou boarded the 12:44 plane headed for Japan's Narita airport.

By early afternoon, the arrival lobby at Narita airport was filled with excited female fans, and by the time Vic appeared, close to 1000 people had gathered to welcome him. At 1:42pm, Vic Chou finally appeared, accompanied by his fellow MARS cast mates, Barbie Hsu, Megan Lai and Shawn An. The lobby was instantly filled with the sound of the fans going wild, screaming excitedly. Waving to the crowd, Vic made his way across the lobby and into the restricted area. Barbie was really cute too!



Perhaps it was to avoid chaos in the lobby, but it was all over in about a minute. Not only that, but Vic was wearing sunglasses which prevented the fans from getting a good look at his face. While it was a pretty disappointing welcome party for the fans, when you think about the safety issue, it couldn't be helped.



The second day started with Vic and Barbie attending the MARS press conference, followed by a photo taking session and press conference at the Parco World Exhibition, together with Meteor Garden illustrator Kamio Hatsuko?, and later with fellow cast member from Mars. Day three was the meet the fans session, as well as a whole string of radio appearances and interviews, both with Barbie and also solo appearances. Despite the hard schedule that left him with no time to rest, Vic did not once show any signs of his exhaustion, be it at the press conference or the meet the fans session. Truly the mark of a true professional.



In front of some 100 members of the press, Vic, Barbie and Mars producer Angie Chai took to the stage. Vic greeted the reporters present in japanese, "Hello, everyone. I'm Vic." When told that he was very warmly welcomed in Japan, Vic said rather shyly, "I really hope that our drama will also be popular in Japan." His sincerity, coupled with his shy yet mischievious demeanor conveyed to all his easygoing, likeable character, in just one short press conference. When one reporter asked him what his favourite food was, he replied a little embarrassed, "I love curry rice. I really want to eat a delicious plate of japanese curry rice." His total lack of any big star ego utterly captivated every single female journalist present in the room.



And then day four...Vic returned to Taipei. Those four days had past in the blink of an eye. Amid some feelings of loneliness, it was a wonderful trip. Not only were many people exposed to Barbie Hsu's elegance, they also had a chance to see both Vic's charisma and cuteness. Needless to say, the BS Fan staff were totally smitten as well!

Mars Interview 1: Vic Chou

Ling and I are similar in that we both know how to treasure a lady.


Japan is one of my favourite countries because I find that there is a really good balance between the best of both old and the new. Japanese girls are really cute, gentle and polite...they are very attractive. I'm really happy to be in Japan to promote our new drama, and I really hope that the drama will be very well received in Japan as well. That would make me really happy. The character I play, Chen Ling, has quite a dark side to him, and this is one of my more challenging roles because it's a lot more serious. Despite that, I've tried my best to do justice to the role. Similarities between Ling and me...well...Ling is someone who is more prone to using violence, which is not like me at all. I'm a peace loving sort of guy. I think the one similarity we have is that Ling really treasures Qi Luo. I too would really treasure any girl I like.

you can buy the TAIWAN DVD version of MARS in www.yesasia.com (http://www.yesasia.com) , it includes the 100 min Bloopers/Behind the Scenes/Interviews but no english subtitles.
