First private DVD, first time coming to Japan by himself, first movie
For Vic, this is a year full of many firsts
Many inside scoops on the planning of each individual project

Before his private DVD and solo photo book are to be published in Japan in October, in late August when summer is soon to end, Vic comes to Japan to do promotions. It's been one year and four months since his last visit and this is also the first time he comes to Japan alone. The press conference held before the day of interview was fully packed by the press; the fan meeting was also finished with great success. Today, starting from the morning, the media continues their assaults for interviews and photos, but Vic doesn't look tired. Smiling gently, he answers various questions.

"To film the private DVD, I returned to my hometown Yilan where I hadn't visited for a long time. Vic has proposed the spots to film the private DVD. Likewise, he has contributed ideas to the solo photo book which will be published in late October.


"I want to show a different me you haven't seen before, so we have targeted several things." One of the ideas is to take photos in a studio. On the day after the interview, the photographing he comes to Tokyo for will be started. He will spend time to put on elaborate makeup and costume to challenge the unisex style.

"When a camera is focused on such a Vic, how will it reflect Vic, how will such a Vic look in photos? I'm really looking forward to it. I've tried various makeup and costumes for the photographing, I look great, except my eyebrows are a little thick. (Laugh.)"

Come to think of it, Vic's mother is very beautiful. It is said he looks exactly like her. Considering it, how will the photos eventually come out if his feminine side is unleashed? Just imaging it has already aroused my interest. The upcoming photo book is to be shot in two places: Taipei and Tokyo. In terms of photographing in Tokyo, F4@Tokyo' is a memorable experience, but Vic says, "There are other parts of Tokyo I want to see."

"In the last photo book, I was able to see various sides of Tokyo, both the modern-day Tokyo and the parts of Tokyo where the good old days of Japan are still kept. So, this time, I would also like to discover various aspects of Tokyo." said he. For the upcoming book, the approach is to have four cross sections on natural, cool, stylish, and fashionable. The photographing would be conducted around the areas of Roppongi and Shiodome.

First F4 private DVD to be on the market, first time coming to Japan by himself, this is a year full of many firsts for Vic. In fact, there is one more item. His debut movie has finally started filming. The director is Johnnie To who has directed "A" and "B." (Sorry, I have no ideas what these two movies are.) Vic assumes one of the starring roles in the "Hu Die Fei (Butterfly Flying)," a movie which is said to have a high potential to become the Hong Kong version of "Ghost."

"I have always been fond of Johnnie To's movies. His movies have covered a wide range of topics from those depicting Chinese Triads to love stories. The director was searching for young actors in Taiwan and China. He came to talk to me about one and half years ago. But our schedules just didn't match. The movie finally started filming in August of this year. But I have filmed only one day. Furthermore, I only played a dead body lying down. (Laugh.)"

Other F4 members have already starred in movies. Vanness has already had 3 movies he stars under his belt. To that extent, Vic's move has been long in coming. It just takes time to have everything come together.

"I'm already 25 years old. I'm no longer a kid. It's time for me to have concrete goals for my career. I want to pour all my efforts into it whether it's a TV drama or a movie." he says clearly, with the future of him continuing shining as an actor reflecting in his eyes.

Q11: What sort of Vic's real self that we are to look for in this photo book?

A: Initially with the themes, we thought "natural" was his real self, but actually the "cool" side is more of his real self, isn't it?
For "cool," I explained, "we want to show a man's sorrow and sadness when spending his day off alone." He was almost shockingly manly. Cute Vic as seen in the "natural" theme absolutely came out naturally, but overwhelmingly it was during the photographing of the "cool" theme that his nature showed.

Q12: Are there more operations to follow?

A: Now, we're raking our brains on what to do with the cover. We're highly satisfied with the completion. Photos we didn't expect have been taken. So please be on the look out for it.

DaS went to HK to film a days commerical ZaiZai ZhouYuMin's popularity has been decreasing lately. His newest drama "Silence" only recieved an average of 2.5 last week, not even the kissing scenes between ZaiZai and ParkEuHye could bring up the ratings.

"Silence" will end soon, and it will be replaced by "The Legend Of Star Apple." The ratings has risen and fallen from a 3 to 2.2, only 1/3 of "Meteor Garden's" ratings.

Although the ratings arent that high, ParkEunHye and ZaiZai still have high expectations for this drama with only one promotional event. Having MingDao's "The Legend Of Star Apple" airing soon, the audience cant help but sigh because MingDao's dramas usually have around a 6 for ratings.

Even the audience go online to forums and dicuss how "bad' "Silence" is getting to, from always having ZaiZai and ParkEunHye having fun, then suddenly he coughs up blood, nose bleeds and stomaches, making the audience cringe with pain as they watch, wondering "is love really the best medicine?" The company has said that they want to emphasize the love between ZaiZai and ParlEunHye, and that they believe that the ratings will rise when the ending is aired.

ZaiZai is in HK filming for JohnnieTo's "Flying Butterfly." Rumors had it before that DaS flew to HK to see ZaiZai and visit him, but DaS's manager cleared things up by replying: "DaS indeed had flew to HK, but it was only to film a commerical, which was finished in one day. She returned to Taiwan on the same night. There was no time to do anything else."

In search of the 5th face only staff working on the photograph book knows of!

"Taipei &Tokyo 4 Faces (temporarily named)¡± is scheduled to be published during the last 10 days of October.

To get some inside scoops of photographing, we have interviewed Kiyomizu-san, the editor in charge of the book at the Kadokawa Shoten publishing house.

In order to get, via photographing, a glimpse of the side unknown to us, we interviewed Kiyomizu-san right after the Tokyo's part of the photographing was done and had a lively talk with him.

Q1: We heard, this time, the themes of the photograph book are four faces: natural, cool, stylish, and fashionable. In terms of the themes, who came up with such ideas?

A: We first made a proposal of what to do. Then the ideas got expanded while we discussed with Vic.

Q2: What Vic wished has been included, hasn't it?

A: Yes. Last time, for "F4@Tokyo (http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo)," they basically just accepted whatever we had planned and decided. As such, there were no discussions with them beforehand. This time, starting from the planning stage, we have interacted with him and hold discussions. In fact, we started discussing with Vic two weeks before photographing started in Taiwan which happened around mid-July.




Q3: The staff is different from that of "F4@Tokyo (http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo)," isn¡¯t it?

A: Mostly are different. I've asked Hiromi Miyasaka to be the photographer and Hiro-san to be the stylist. As both the photographer and I are women, I thought it would be nice to have a man as the stylist to provide a man's perspective. Considering that communication would be very important during the process of working with the different themes, it would be nice to have someone who Vic had previously work with, I asked Hiromi Yanai of "F4@Tokyo" (http://www.vicpower.net/asp/%3Ca%20target=_blank%20href=http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo%3Ehttp://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo%3C/a%3E%22) doing hair and make up.

Q4: What is the purpose of choosing a woman for the photographer?

A: I have been working with Hiromi Miyasaka, I like her sense of closeness with the people she photographs, and the natural atmosphere in her scenes. When I was thinking of whom to ask as the photographer, it came to my mind that I wanted to see Vic in photos taken by Miyasaka-san.

Even on the actual scenes, there was unique kind of closeness provided by a woman. It has offered subtle impacts in several occasions. For example, when shooting the theme of "natural", please think Miyasaka-san as your girlfriend! No doubt, it was taking advantage of the situation. (Laugh.) In that aspect, it's easer for a woman to communicate with Vic than a man. As for "cool", it is about the feelings of a woman gets a glimpse of a man in private. Since they have started interacting from the early phase, they were able to communicate with each other very smoothly.

Q5: We are to see four faces of Vic in this photo book, Kiyomiza-san, from what you've seen, what is Vic's 5th face that nobody knows?

A: In one word "professional." For me, Vic's image used to be a diligent man who would work hard to finish what we had asked him to do. He is the youngest among F4. He is gentle. I think I'm not the only person who views him this way, perhaps, so do fans. But, about this photo book, at the beginning, we have received such incredible appeal, "Your proposals are excellent, but there are things I like to include." They were wonderful intentions but they were unexpected...

For this photo book, the message that he has his own ideas with respect to it has been transmitted to us. It seems that he has a strong sense of "how this book should be done." Being a shy guy, when he wanted to ask both sides to do a little more or when he wanted to assert what's on his mind, he would say something like, "I really appreciate the efforts you have put in for me." We all have a very good impression of him.

Q6: Can you be more specific in what kinds of things he wanted to do?

A: "natural" and "cool" were photographed in Taiwan. In fact, those were the themes we originally considered. "stylish" and "fashionable," which were photographed in Japan are what Vic wants and get squeezed into the book. Specifically, it was something like "I want to see myself in an art world."

During a discussion session, Vic drew a pencil drawing on the edge of the proposal. I said to him, "Let me see." Initially he was embarrassed, but then he showed me a drawing of him holding an umbrella in the rain. It was a drawing with big raindrops, looking romantic; nonetheless, his facial expressions looked cool. This was the kind of things he wanted to try. So, I took the idea with me back to Japan. After discussing with the staff, not 100% the same, but we created the situation using water.

There is one more thing that he wanted and got made. "The image of fans holding me looks very natural, but I'll be happy if such a thought is also considered. It's precious to have a photo book to leave behind; I want to challenge some image I have never done before." It was a very strong request from himself.

So after many repeatedly discussing, challenging the image of unisex was it. But, for example, which location to photo such an image and how to make it stand out within the photo book?

So, we created a little bit lavish set with purposely created unrealistic atmosphere, it was like one scene out of some old Asian movie. He shot 3 poses on such a set. He looks really pretty, unisex, and he looks great. Vic blended so well into the make-believe world and was really professional.

Q7: Did the photographing take a long time?

A: It took one day in the latter part of August. They shot "stylish" on location from early morning till noon. Starting from the afternoon, they worked on the remaining part, "fashionable." The photographing was done in a studio until 8 o'clock at night.

Q8: I interviewed you for the DVD of "F4@Tokyo (http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo)" Hearing what you say now, his image is very different than the last time. What would say of Vic at that time?

A: A little bit absent-minded, staring into the space (Laugh). He enjoyed photographing in Tokyo, but during the time of photographing, the impression of him was absent-minded and gentle. It might be something natural of him, but maybe he was refrained for being a young brother.

Q9: Any episodes about taking photos in Taiwan for "natural" and "cool"?

A: They also started photographing early in the morning and finished it at around 7 o'clock at night. The photographing was done in one day. Both Vic and Miyasaka-san were very into the themes, so it didn't take long. The photographing was done quickly. Once he understood the themes, he engrossed into them with instant force. He was indeed a pro. That aspect of him was also a bit of a surprise.

Taipei and Danshui were the locations. They took photos of beautiful sunset. The amusement park photos shown in the fan meeting were taken in Taipei. The amusement park is for children, so its Ferris wheel and merry-go-around are all small and look very cute. Sitting in them, his look had the boyish innocence. Q10: During photographing, did Vic often take a peek into the monitor?

A: Because the photos were taken using digital camera, he could check the monitor. But he hardly ever did. He would say from far away, "It's fine. OK, OK." He didn't come close to check. He had asserted what he wanted before the photographing started. It seems that he trusted everybody would contribute to get the results.

On the scenes, he didn't make any additional request. After finishing the photographing, he said something like, "It has something I want to do. I'm eagerly waiting for it to be finished." He was really pleased.

Since he has influenced the book from the planning phase, I will respect his opinions on the selection of photos if he has.


Q11: What sort of Vic's real self that we are to look for in this photo book?

A: Initially with the themes, we thought "natural" was his real self, but actually the "cool" side is more of his real self, isn't it?

For "cool," I explained, "we want to show a man's sorrow and sadness when spending his day off alone." He was almost shockingly manly. Cute Vic as seen in the "natural" theme absolutely came out naturally, but overwhelmingly it was during the photographing of the "cool" theme that his nature showed.

Q12: Are there more operations to follow?

A: Now, we're raking our brains on what to do with the cover. We're highly satisfied with the completion. Photos we didn't expect have been taken. So please be on the look out for it.

Q3: This is the first time you have experienced a fan meeting in Japan. How was it?

A: I enjoyed it very much. A great many fans have participated the fan meeting. We played games. I was able to interact with fans within close distance. It was great fun.

Q4: What was particularly interesting?

A: It was a game. A pirate captain is put inside a barrel. Players use small knives to push into the barrel. The last player remaining to pop the pirate out of the barrel gets to win the prize (The game is called "pop-up pirate.). There were about 20-30 holes, but the pirate didn't even pop up once when we played the last hole. We were all puzzled by it. A worker came out and said" The game is broken. We will replace it with a new one. Let's started from the beginning again." There were 5 fans to take turns to play the game. It would take more than 5 minutes to finish the game. It would have taken too much time if we had played it one more time. Everyone said, "Already finished?" It caused a big commotion. It was great fun. (Laugh)

Q5: Is that right? (Laugh.) I want to ask you something about the private DVD that will be released in October. I heard you have involved with it since its planning phase. What sort of ideas have you contributed?

A: Visiting my hometown was a well-defined goal for us. But there were about 20 to 30 places in Yilan that we wanted to go. But we were confined by the DVD's production schedule. I didn't want to it to become something like a guided tour hopping from one place to another place, so from them I picked out places I like and I miss.

Q6: What are your thoughts on the DVD? If there is anything you remember from the filming, can you share it with us?

A: The finished DVD looks really cool. I'm very satisfied with it. As for stories, during the filming of the DVD, I had learned of all the procedures and schedule beforehand. But no one told me of the reunion with my middle school teacher. It was proceeded secretly without telling me.

Things such as to have a reunion with my former teacher at my alma mater had never entered my mind, so I was really shocked! When I watched the DVD, despite I felt shocked in my heart, my facial expressions looked better than what acting could have achieved.(Laugh.)

It was the first time I reunited with my teacher in eight years, so I was really glad about it. She looked older than I remembered. Meanwhile, I've turned 25. I will keep on getting older. I want to make a firm decision on the direction of my life.

Q7: Mr. Mitsutoshi Tanaka, who is famous for his movies, "Kewashi (Make-up Artist)" and "Shouryounagashi (Floating Lanterns), assumed the director's responsibilities. He is known for creating emotional and beautiful images. It's your first time working with a Japanese director, how did it go?

A: It was splendid! I like the director a great deal. He was smiling on the set. But his eyes were full of expectation of seeing something new drawn out of me. He didn't restrict improvised performance. We had a script, but when I did something beyond what the script called for, he would say, "That was great!" and clapped his hands happily. At that instance, he became like a kid.

Q8: What did you improvise?

A: I really like natural feelings, so I tried my best in the DVD not to be set in a certain mode. Of course, the schedule was fixed, but the lines were not fixed, I talked whatever came to my mind. For example, when we went to the school, the various memories of my school days came back. I said to the director via the interpreter, "There is something over there. Over there is my classroom!" The staff moved in groups toward it to film. I entered the classroom. It seemed as soon as I finished my words, a reunion meeting with my teacher was immediately set up by the staff. On that day the director's expression looked strange and the staffers' eyes looked strange too. Now that I think of it, no wonder they looked that way. (Laugh.) They deliberately invited my teacher to surprise me."





Q9: To fans looking forward to the DVD, can you tell them what the DVD's highlight is?

A: Fans get to see what I am in private! I was able to do what I myself enjoy doing. By filming this private DVD, I was able to accomplish what I¡¯d been wanting to do. Since my debut, I had always wanted to return to my hometown Yilan and to soak myself in this small town where I once lived and full of memories. Because of the way I felt, I was really glad that I was able to accomplish such a project. I really want fans to see the real me, the simple me.

Q10: The photo book will come on the market in the latter part of August. What sort of book will it be?

A: Of course, I will look cute in the book (Laugh). It will also include me photographed in various kinds of situations. Aspects of me that even I have never seen before will also be unveiled. It is fine that previously I looked cute or mischievous, but now I'm a little bit older. The grown-up side and the matured look will also appear in the book. Recently, compared to the cute image, I personally prefer the mature image, like wearing a suit properly when working.

Q11: You've finished Taipei's part of photographing. Where did the photographing take place?

A: In Taipei, we first took photographs in an amusement park. After that was Taipei's busy streets, which have downtown-like atmosphere. Then we moved onto a sightseeing spot in the outskirts of Taipei, Danshui. In addition, we took photographs on the rooftop of a building in Taipei, using sunset as the background.

Q12: What has impressed you the most when photographed in Taiwan?

A: We spent one whole day taking photos and finished the day with the sunset scene. It looked that I wasn't able to exert my rain-man's power, it didn't rain at all (Laugh). On the other hand, it was terribly hot. In the summer heat of Taiwan, I sweated a lot and felt sticky. Moreover, the wind blew strongly. Even though I arranged my hair and clothes inside the car, the wind was so strong that it blew my body sideway the moment I got off the car. My hairdo was like the Hanawa-gun character in "Chibimaruko-chan" (Laugh).

Q13: (Laugh) I must see them! Are they included in the photo book?

A: No! They didn't get selected. Those were just for fun. (Laugh)

Q14: The photo book will also be shot in Tokyo. Vic, how do the Tokyo streets look to you?

A: I like the Tokyo streets a great deal. When I go to other places, I often sleep all the way until the plane lands on the ground. But it's different when I come to Tokyo. The buildings are constructed in such an orderly manner and they look beautiful. I would stare at them from the plane's window. When I'm on the streets, since I like cars, I will check the cars, "That car is not in Taiwan yet. It looks so cool!" Anyway, I will not be tired of looking at the Tokyo streets.

Q15: I'm glad to hear you say that. What do you think are the differences between photographing for a photo book and acting in TV dramas and movies?

A: Of course, it's different from acting a role. I work on the private DVD and the solo book with the attitude that they are things I want to do myself."


Q16: You just said, "You have made a firm decision on the direction of your life and you want to follow it." You are now 25. Are you feeling that you¡¯ve arrived a turning point in your life?

A: Exactly. I debuted at 19. I'm the youngest in F4. All the people around me are also older than I am. I've been learning and growing from watching their stances. Now I've turned 25, I start considering, "When I turn 30, what will I become?" I've come to think that it's better to live a forward-looking lifestyle and put more thoughts into work and private life. From now on, my age will just go up, I must decide the direction my life will take.

Q17: What makes you think so? For example, did you take a trip to somewhere? Or did you happen to encounter some influential works?

A: Definitely these kinds of thoughts did not come out of nowhere. It probably started two years ago when I was working on the TV series "Mar".... I became interested in acting and also noticed that I had talents for it (Laugh). From then on, I become more and more concentrated on acting skills and relentless. For all the works I accept, I will do them to the extent that I'm completely satisfied with them. My attitude toward work has become strict.

Zaizai brings Da S to meet his parents Vic Zhou Zaizai and Xu Xi Yuan Da S who is now in the love river, spent the chinese lunar new year back at Yilan on the first day of chinese new year. Da S specially went to visit his future lao ye. After the family of 3 finished eating their reunion dinner, both of them went to a famous local tourist spot, Dong Shan He, very sweet !






Zaizai would always return to his old home in Yilan to visit his father during the chinese lunar new year. This year, he has his girlfriend, Da S, along with him so it's especially sweet. On the morning of the first day of the chinese lunar new year, they drove back to Yilan and in the afternoon, they had lunch with Zaizai's dad in the afternoon. After the family of 3 finished their meal, Zaizai became the "tour guide" and brought Da S to the various tourist spots and also brought his girlfriend to see the primary and secondary school that he have attended before.

Around evening time, both of them were strolling at the local's Dong Shang River. As it was the first day of the chinese lunar new year, there was a exceptional more tourists. As Zaizai and Da S were not wearing shades, they were being recognized when they queued up to get tickets. They were being approached and people started greeting them. Both of them appeared generous and told them, "Gong Xi Fa Cai". However, when someone approached them for a picture together, they walked away in a hurry hand in hand. They continued to play around there and left only 3 hours later.

The appearence of Zaizai and Da S created "chaos" in Yilan. Many online mates started discussing about it. A online mate by the nick of nomod was the one who sold the tickets to Zaizai and Da S. Q18: So it was something associated with a role. Were you fascinated by a role and started to grow from it?

A: You can say that. The main character in the original work, Chen Ling, has a very rich personality. I played twins. In other words, I played two characters. The personalities hidden inside the twins are completely opposite of what they show to outside the world. You can't see such inconsistencies at a glance, but toward the end, as the story develops, you gradually understand them.

I discussed with the director about the acting skills and the personalities of the roles. If I can't get a grasp their individualities and characteristics, I won't be able to act the parts well. Q19: Is there anything in work that you will persist and won't compromise?

A: Absolutely won't compromise... There are a lot of them! For example, when filming for a movie, if the staffer is not serious and treats work in a joking manner, my face will turn stern and my attitude will become strict. I usually face works with a correct attitude like a pro. I also want to see staffers working in a professional manner. The reason is that I keep on growing, I also want the staffers to grow together with me.

Q20: So reliable. Compared to last year, your face is now shaper and more adult like. Maybe it's the result of the change in your consciousness?

A: It may be because my hair is shorter (Laugh).

Q21: No. No. Definitely, it¡¯s not just because of that (Laugh). Haven't you felt you have grown?

A: Lately I also often hear such things from friends around me and workers from the office. In the past 1 or 2 year, within the span of a few months, I changed dramatically. Before his private DVD and solo photo book are to be published in Japan in October, in late August when summer is soon to end, Vic comes to Japan to do promotions. It's been one year and four months since his last visit and this is also the first time he comes to Japan alone. The press conference held before the day of interview was fully packed by the press; the fan meeting was also finished with great success. First F4 private DVD to be on the market, first time coming to Japan by himself, this is a year full of many firsts for Vic. In fact, there is one more item. His debut movie has finally started filming. The director is Johnnie To who has directed "A" and "B." (Sorry, I have no ideas what these two movies are.) Vic assumes one of the starring roles in the "Hu Die Fei (Butterfly Flying)," a movie which is said to have a high potential to become the Hong Kong version of "Ghost."

"I have always been fond of Johnnie To's movies. His movies have covered a wide range of topics from those depicting Chinese Triads to love stories. The director was searching for young actors in Taiwan and China. He came to talk to me about one and half years ago. But our schedules just didn't match. The movie finally started filming in August of this year. But I have filmed only one day. Furthermore, I only played a dead body lying down. (Laugh.)"

Other F4 members have already starred in movies. Vanness has already had 3 movies he stars under his belt. To that extent, Vic's move has been long in coming. It just takes time to have everything come together.

"I'm already 25 years old. I'm no longer a kid. It's time for me to have concrete goals for my career. I want to pour all my efforts into it whether it's a TV drama or a movie." he says clearly, with the future of him continuing shining as an actor reflecting in his eyes.

ZaiZai Avoids LiBingBing
ZaiZai and LiBingBing are presently in HongKong filming for JohnnieTo's newest movie, "Flying Butterfly." JohnnieTo is known for being strict and having high standards, and for ZaiZai's first movie, it is going smoothly in terms of NGs, maybe because his girlfriend is Barbie. As for LiBingBing who has had many experiences in movies is NGing quite a lot; a scene of her running across the road took more then enough NGs, making JohnnieTo so mad that he wanted to swear.

Yesterday the crew were in Centrel filming and both LiBingBing and ZhouYuMin were present. The two didnt talk much as they didnt want any rumors to start. ZaiZai, who has a "very tight and strict" girlfriend, aviod being "meserized" by LiBingBing.

In the scene, ZaiZai has to pretend to be a reporter secretly snapping photos of LiBingBing. Maybe ZaiZai has the natural talent of being a papparazzi, he did it within 2 shots. He even took the DV and started to film the real reporters for fun. As for LiBingBing, she was the Queen of NG. Whenever she was not on screen, she would comb her hair, and when it was her turn to film, she would not give her best causing the team to retake the same shots.

In search of the 5th face only staff working on the photograph book knows of!

"Taipei &Tokyo 4 Faces (temporarily named)¡± is scheduled to be published during the last 10 days of October.

To get some inside scoops of photographing, we have interviewed Kiyomizu-san, the editor in charge of the book at the Kadokawa Shoten publishing house.

In order to get, via photographing, a glimpse of the side unknown to us, we interviewed Kiyomizu-san right after the Tokyo's part of the photographing was done and had a lively talk with him.

Q1: We heard, this time, the themes of the photograph book are four faces: natural, cool, stylish, and fashionable. In terms of the themes, who came up with such ideas?

A: We first made a proposal of what to do. Then the ideas got expanded while we discussed with Vic.

Q2: What Vic wished has been included, hasn't it?

A: Yes. Last time, for "F4@Tokyo (http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo)," they basically just accepted whatever we had planned and decided. As such, there were no discussions with them beforehand. This time, starting from the planning stage, we have interacted with him and hold discussions. In fact, we started discussing with Vic two weeks before photographing started in Taiwan which happened around mid-July.




Q3: The staff is different from that of "F4@Tokyo (http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo)," isn¡¯t it?

A: Mostly are different. I've asked Hiromi Miyasaka to be the photographer and Hiro-san to be the stylist. As both the photographer and I are women, I thought it would be nice to have a man as the stylist to provide a man's perspective. Considering that communication would be very important during the process of working with the different themes, it would be nice to have someone who Vic had previously work with, I asked Hiromi Yanai of "F4@Tokyo" (http://www.vicpower.net/asp/%3Ca%20target=_blank%20href=http://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo%3Ehttp://61.129.47.141/asp/mailtF4@Tokyo%3C/a%3E%22) doing hair and make up.

Q4: What is the purpose of choosing a woman for the photographer?

A: I have been working with Hiromi Miyasaka, I like her sense of closeness with the people she photographs, and the natural atmosphere in her scenes. When I was thinking of whom to ask as the photographer, it came to my mind that I wanted to see Vic in photos taken by Miyasaka-san.

Even on the actual scenes, there was unique kind of closeness provided by a woman. It has offered subtle impacts in several occasions. For example, when shooting the theme of "natural", please think Miyasaka-san as your girlfriend! No doubt, it was taking advantage of the situation. (Laugh.) In that aspect, it's easer for a woman to communicate with Vic than a man. As for "cool", it is about the feelings of a woman gets a glimpse of a man in private. Since they have started interacting from the early phase, they were able to communicate with each other very smoothly.

Q5: We are to see four faces of Vic in this photo book, Kiyomiza-san, from what you've seen, what is Vic's 5th face that nobody knows?

A: In one word "professional." For me, Vic's image used to be a diligent man who would work hard to finish what we had asked him to do. He is the youngest among F4. He is gentle. I think I'm not the only person who views him this way, perhaps, so do fans. But, about this photo book, at the beginning, we have received such incredible appeal, "Your proposals are excellent, but there are things I like to include." They were wonderful intentions but they were unexpected...

For this photo book, the message that he has his own ideas with respect to it has been transmitted to us. It seems that he has a strong sense of "how this book should be done." Being a shy guy, when he wanted to ask both sides to do a little more or when he wanted to assert what's on his mind, he would say something like, "I really appreciate the efforts you have put in for me." We all have a very good impression of him.

As of now, Barbie has no plans on getting married with ZaiZai, but does not know what the future holds

To promote her newest movie, DaS took part in a phone interview. When the topic of her sister XiaoS and her happy marriage with her family and child, DaS was asked if she wanted the same life as her sister. DaS says that seeing her sister give birth was a very wonderful thing. "When i see other pregnant ladies, i feel that they are in pain because of the way they walk or i hear stories of how much difficulties they are going through, but my sister didnt have any of those. Her entire process was very smooth and she got her beautiful figure back in no time. But i dont think i can do it or handle it, so XiaoS says that if her next is twins, then she will give one to me." (Do you have plans of getting married?) "No plans yet, but no one knows. Haha, i am a person who likes to do things according to my mood."

Doesnt mind her screen time in "Silk" is short
In the movie, DaS only have 8 minutes of screen time from beginning to end. When she accepted the movie, she already knew that her screen time was limited. "I just thought of the fact that i get to cooperate with my favoutire actors, nothing more."

Although her screen time is very little, in the movie she has to speak Japanese, showing that her language ability is quite good. "It was a challenge for me. I wanted to see if i could speak Japanese and English well, so i spent a lot of time on it. When i got the script, i asked my Japanese friends to teach me the proper way of pronouncing the words, and then i'd memorize it for the filming. There was a long phrase, but JiangKouYang thought that it wasnt that well, so we changed the phrase to something else."

This was infact DaS's biggest problem. In the beginning, she was very worried about it, and when it was finished filming, she was wondering if it turned out okay.

About her "intense" scene with JiangKouYang being cut, DaS was very unhappy but at the same time very relieved. "I has prepared myself for this scene beforehand because the script wasnt very detailed. Because of that, we held many meetings and we all prepared for the scene and in the end, it was finished in 2 shots. When it was aired in Cannes, it turned out better then i thought because we were both very natural. When i was told that it was going to be cut, i was hurt at first, but relieved too because now it wont be as awkward.

When asked if ZaiZai was present at the filming of that scene to supervise, DaS cutely said "We werent even going out yet!"

In the movie DaS changes into a dead corpse, and DaS says that the look isnt scary enough, hoping that there should have been some eyes falling out as well.

"It was my first time in a Taiwan movie so i am considered a newbie, and i get to go to Cannes with very many international stars, it was very exciting. There were many people there, making me feel like i was very small.

At the festival, many directors waved at her, and DaS says that she is now focused on dramas, but if a good script and director comes along, she will consider it.

When talking about JiangKouYang, DaS says that she praises him a lot. "Ive seen his "White Tower" many many times. When i first found out that i will be working with him i was very nervous, but he was very natural on set, he knew what he needed to do so he lead me into my character as well; he is very professional."

ZaiZai kisses LiBingBing, forced to report to DaS

ZaiZai is on the big screen with his director being JhonnieTo in his newest movie "Flying Butterfly." The ending is a kissing scene, but not only is ZaiZai not enjoying it, he is awkward because his partner is KenZhu's exgirlfriend LiBingBing. Just so he doesnt cause any unwanted rumors, ZaiZai quickly told DaS about this scene, and DaS went to visit with snacks and food so she can keep an eye on him.

Kissing and hugging for 20 rounds
ZaiZai and LiBingBing arent that close, but because LiBingBing and KenZhu was caught while in a hotel, he knows of this person, and she is his partner this time in his first movie. In September, ZaiZai listened to director To's instructions to first film the kissing scene. When he heard about it, he was very nervous; kept chewing up on set to keep a fresh scent.

ZaiZai and LiBingBing kissed and hugged for around 20 different times. To make sure his girlfriend DaS isnt jealous, he told her beforehand. It was reported that right after she was finished with her drama "Corner with Love," she flew to HK right away. She brought snacks and food to the set, but it was just an excuse to keep an eye on ZaiZai.

"Delicious Relationship" director reveals that the pair are very close off set. DaS would bring a book to set and wait for her boyfriend, really sweet.

Barbie's 30th birthday this years falls on Mid-Autumn festival, and ZaiZai pushed back all his work so he can be with his girlfriend to celebrate both events. It was said that ZaiZai had planned out a "propsal" for her big birthday surprise this year, but Barbie denied. HsuMaMa also adds: "Cannot get married this year!"

Romantic Mid-Autumn
Last year when DaZaiLian was exposed, Barbie was rumored to want marriage as her birthday present. She wanted to let the public know on her birthday, which scared everyone. During that time, HsuMaMa's image of ZaiZai wasnt that deep nor well, and XiaoS also leaked that if he wanted to become their brother-in-law or son-in-law, he had a long way to go.

Ate at a French resturant
Lately, ZaiZai has been in HK filing for his virgin movie, "Flying Butterfly," and since his girlfriends birthday is on the same day as Mid-Autumn, he has already planned on dropping all his work and flying back. Rumors has it that he also planned to propose to her because that is what Barbie's been wanting since last year.

Last night, ZaiZai went to the Hsu's, but when he saw the reporters, he went inside to hide out for a bit. When they left, they headed to a French resturant. When asked if this was part of his proposal, DaS commented: "No!" but her faces was full of smiles.

As for her thoghts on Barbie's marriage, HsuMaMa replied: "As for my daughers marriage, i think this year is not good." Good friend PaceWu says: "Really? If so, then i envy." As for their manager, the reply was: "I never heard anything of it, but i dont oppose to anyone wanting to get married." But Makiyo's mother suddenyl jumps in the picture and adds: "If they get married now, i oppose. He should wait until he grows out a beard. At least he should be like Mike, XiaoS's husband, should be over 30." If so, then the 25year old ZaiZai must wait another 5 years.

Updates on Flying Butterfly

1.Some fan posted on another forum that she had gone to the Hong Kong airport to see Zaizai off in the early morning of Oct. 5, 2006.

According to the fan, Zaizai has completed his part of the movie and returned to Taiwan.

2. On the other hand on the same day (2006.10.05), the news coming out of the LBB camp is that she only had the Oct. 1st off. From Oct. 2 on, she would be back working busily on the movie.

3. Actually LBB said in an interview published on 2006.09.10 that she had already started shooting the movie in June, 2006.

Laiou's Comment:
It looks that Zaizai really has a minor part in the movie.

So far, all the info points to that direction.

Some people say the entire production crew is having a break.

Oct. 6 is Mid-Autumn Festival (a.k.a Chinese Moon Festival).

It's a big holiday for Chinese. It makes sense for the production crew to have a few days off.

We just have to wait and see if Zaizai has finished his part of the movie.

Barbie and Vic window-shops.

Zaizai (Picture 1) yesterday accompanied DaS on her 30th birthday to window-shop. The two took a stroll in the afternoon, from first the floor to three of the buildings, and immersed only in each other.

Aside from looking at own female attire,the picture looks like she's helping him find a suitable men's clothing in the brand Paul Smith special cabinet. DaS takes clothes to let Zaizai try on (picture two). Zaizai pulls her hand from time to time,and is hugging her waist from time to time.

Zhou Yu Min wants to wear the Scotland kilt for once

It was 10 o'clock in the morning, the sun was shining.

Standing in front of the white curtain and photographed for the cover, his silhouette was clean and bright in the sunshine. Seeing through the glass across the street on the outside wall of the new Baleno Kentex store was another Zhou Yu Min, a giant, two-story-high waist-up Zaizai poster. His face was also smiling.

Wear a skirt for once

Close to 100 security guards used movable fences and intertwined their arms to circle the new Kentex store; the place's security was iron-clad tight. And it was just for Zhou Yu Min to appear for 20 minutes to cut the ribbon.

In fact, Zaizai wore a simple outfit on that day. If he had walked calmly into the store without any bodyguard or assistant, the estimated chance of him being recognized wouldn't have been more than10%.

"My style is just average, neither too formal, nor slouchy, just clothes easy to move around. It's too much trouble to consider what to wear when going outside. It's best to have one garment and a pair of pants which fit all occasions. For example, the clothing that I wear most often in Taipei is a pair of Khaki pants. You can call it casual wear. It can also be used as a pair of sport pants when playing basketball. Anyway it's very comfortable wearing it to do all sorts of things. This pair of pants that Zhou Yu Min wears is not from some famous brand name. Instead, it is a style you can purchase at any regular store and your heart won't pang when paying for it. He wears it and feels as comfortably as a fish in water.

Half-jokingly I asked, "Will DaS accept such simple style?"

"DaS' taste is very versatile." Zaizai answered. "I don't care about brands. I only care about if the clothing fits me. Some clothes look particularly good on me even though they are very inexpensive."

One winter Zaizai was working on doing some filming. His assistant bought him the cheapest down jacket to keep him warm. He liked it so much after wearing a few times that he bought many home and take turns wearing them.

"This fall, I'm fascinated by leather jacket. Wearing a leather outfit sometimes looks really cool! It's a little departure from my intrinsic gentle temperament. But, the thing I most want to wear is skirt, especially the Scotland kilt. I hear that the traditional way of wearing a Scotland kilt is not to wear underwear underneath. Ha Ha. They definitely won't let me wear one. I try it when I go visit Scotland.


Play a bit the game of love

After finishing TV drama "Delicious Relationship," Zhou Yu Min's next project is a Johnnie To movie, which just started filming in early August.

Any chance to wear a leather jacket and twirl a pistol?

Zhou Yu Min shook his head and said that it is a romance movie. Matrix style of leather jacket won't get its chance in the movie.

"Johnnie To's previous gun fight movies have left audiences with such strong impressions that people forget he has also made drama and romance movies." Zaizai said.
