[News] FT Island on a mission to hold Live Concert

The handsome FT Island, in order to hold a concert, in which they'll prove their skills, is on a mission to collect 100,000 fans.

FT Island will appear on a reality show 'MTV Treasure Island' shown on cable music channel MTV and visit their fans on august 10th, 5 pm.

Five Treasure Island consists 5 teenage handsome boys. They're a band with vocal & instrumental skills and visual. They are currently showing off their individual talents through their title song 'Love Sick,' written and composed by Vibe's Ryu Jaehyun.

However on show programs they have limited opportunities to show off their instrumental skills, and so number of fans that doubt their skills is increasing.

Crying out against this situation, FT Island members requested for a live concert. Their representative replied "It is troublesome to open up a live concert for a new group." He suggested that he'll open up a live concert only when their fanclub members reach 100,000.

For a new group that has been working only for 2 months, collecting 100,000 fanclub members is a big challenge. Members, however, are not giving up. Their reality show will reveal the members setting up their fan cafe and frequently posting video files and replies in order to collect 100,000 fans.

FT Island's Lee Hongki (vocal) said "We wont say that our instrumental skills are the best. But its unfair that our skills get questioned when we cant perform as much due to tv program regulations." He revealed his ambition, "If all the members work together, I'm certain that we'll soon be able to meet with the audience at a live concert."

On MTV Treasure Island, premiering on august 10th at 5 pm, we can watch the FT Island's fan club collection process.

i agree, lahat sila cute ...and talented as well...kaya nga ang bilis ng pagsikat nila in barely 3 months...dami na nilang nakuhang 1st place music awards.

rumor lang yun naglalabasang issue tungkol kay hongki...i doubt gagawin ni hongki yun ...bago lang sila sa music industry.

my favorite is hongki!! ....i just love him when he sings...he reminds me of heechul :) ...but i like the other members as well.

hindi sila from SMtown. ang bagong group na ni-launch ng SMtown this year was a female group (sabi counterpart daw ng suju, 9 member girl group SNSD).

One month after their debut, 5 member pretty boy band ‘FT Island’ went on and off th popular music charts, and was busy filming Mnet’s ‘Star Watch 24′.

On the 19th of this month, F.T Island reached the top of the charts wih their debut song, ‘Love sick’, on Mnet’s M Countdown. The youngest member, Minhwan, was so happy that they won first place, that they say he kept crying for 30 minutes even after coming down from the stage.

However, these boys do envy some things. That day on the M Countdown stage, they met Super Junior and Battle, and the young boys stared up at them and said with no hesitation, “We envy Super Junior hyungs.”

And when they saw dance group Battle in the rehearsing studio, they said “When we come out with our 2nd album, we hope we’ll be able to have as much fun as Battle hyungs”. Though they hope to be introduced as “a talented idol rock band”, and have much confidence in their music.

When asked the time when they got the most angry, they replied “When we practice, there are times when it doesn’t seem to work out very well, and we think to ourselves ‘is that all you can do?’ and get very upset about and mad at ourselves’”. But even still, “We feel the popularity while onstage, hearing our fans’ shouts and screams of encouragement”; and they say “We’ll work harder and show you our better selves”. 27th, 7:00 airing.

FT Island is caught in Plagiarism Crisis.

"We are not just pretty faces. We'll compete musically" This was the declaration made by the group of main voal Lee Hongki, Lee Jaejin (bass), On Wonbin (guitar.vocal), Choi Minhwan (drum), Choi Jonghun (guitar.piano).

Their debut title song 'Love Sick' is extremely popular and has won first place for SBS TV 'Inkigayo' only after a month. It is written and composed by Vibe's Rhu Jaehyun.

The problem is that this song is believed to resemble the song 'Resolver' featured in Japanese drama 'Sorakara' (Million stars falling from the sky). Starring top star Kimura Takuya, 'Sorakara' has been named 2002's best Japanese drama. It was popular in Korea and its title song is also familiar.

If you listen to two songs, their melodies are extremely similar. Piano stringing is almost exact! It might be reasonable to say that only the words have been re-written over it. There is a netizen who uploaded the combined (one after the other) version of two songs. They flow smootly like one. There's no awkward parts.

Even the lyrics seem partly recycled. 'Love Sick's 'XDid you have to leave me so far away?' was also used in Vibe's song in 2003 'If the time is given in a day.'

Netizens are outrated. There are movements that propose "We have to send the song to Japan and get answers."

The recording company, however, is standing strong. The law regarding plagiarism isnt clear and if the original song writer does not address the concern then theres no problem.

F&C Music's section chief Kim JaeMyun said "I heard the title song for the Japanese drama. Contact the composer. I dont want to tell you his contact number, so you figure it out on your own. Team leader Kim Jinmin expressed a nuance of admittance: " I agree with what the reporter thinks."

Group FT Island had some advice to give to Anti-fans.

FT Island appeared as the first guest on Go News TV's first aired corner 'Deugen Deugen Live Chat' premiered on 29th. This program was in which FT Island answer the prepared questions by fans and watch the netizen fan's reactions through chat room.

On this day, FT Island received a question from a fan 'What they think about anti-fans.' They have been hurt at '2007 Mnet 20's Choice' by out-spoken anti fans.

To this FT Island calmly responded "We didnt hear anything on the site that day. We later found out about it through online videos and friends." They admitted their disappointment but confidently revealed "We think they did that because they are interested in us." They also did not fail to plead [cutely] to the anti-fans "Please watch us under positive light"

FT Island honestly answered fans' questions. Personal questions varied from describe yourself in 5 words to if they can date a fan, what is your favorite midnight snack and do you watch p0rn. FT Island also honestly answered without hesitation to additional questions directly asked by 100 netizens.
