Bluekidd or Superman is coming to the Philippines for a visit. He will be arriving on the 20th of April. We plan a get-together party for him in Shrangrila Mall, 4-21-07, a Saturday at 7pm. We do not have any exact resto yet. But it will definitely be in Shrangril-la Mall as a change of surrounding from the usual location (Makati). He has not been to shrangrila mall

been in lots of japanese restos, but what i'm missing is AUTHENTIC japanese food. not the commercial soy sauce + wasabe crap being served in the japanese restos here. no offense to california maki, they're ok, but they're just not authentic enough.

haven't even heard of the place, any landmarks? salcedo village is kinda large, and randomly walking around trying to look for it isn't really my kind of thing :D

suma sam's music is always loud. however, what i do, whenever i eat there is i ask them to turn the **** music off. yes, you do have rights to do that since you're eating there. if the loudness is coming from the chatter of the people eating there, then i have no arguments. lots of people eating = lots of chatter.

as for the review, i cannot help but completely disagree with the review. he goes on to claim that the food is just "edible" and compare it to "tokyo tokyo" which is a joke. tokyo tokyo is not even a japanese fastfood/restaurant. tokyo tokyo is utter crap. also, the price range of sumo sam is 300 to 400 per person? and what did the guy eat? two bowls of ramen? while the food has it's faults - stir fried ramen uses too much oil- (canola though- ) which i've already complained to at least twice.

of course, i had to check out his other comments to see if the writer knew what he was really talking about.

good earth is not new. the owner was a classmate of mine and they've been in the old block for quite sometime. of the 6 restaurants, only cantinetta (starbucks, good earth, gram's pancake house, ucc cafe) is new. i managed the construction of block 10 - which the management is trying to launch as "the block".

he called good earth's food "good". classmate or no classmate, but their food is just slightly above ordinary. 50 bucks for 4 pcs of siomai does not make it good. 4pcs of good tasting siomai makes it good. the platter is above average- their fish fillet however, is good. the ramen and hofan is bad, dry, and tough, and their roast duck tastes like roast duck. which isn't really bad- but doesn't make it good.

i can eat there without calling for a reservation (and sometimes for free!). personal perk- i'm surprised he didn't go into further detail regarding it's excellent outdoor garden - which is about 30% of what you pay for. "You get great outdoorsy garden dining ambiance." doesn't really do justice to antonio's.

anyway, trattoria is fine. the food is good too. just had to rant at the reviews- at least six of them were just blatantly wrong. :D :D :D

wow! i knew Cyma was popular... but they opened sometime mid last year... didn't think they'd still be booked full now. too bad... i love greek/medi food. but hey! a place serving italian food that is more than just your usual pasta and pizza is next on my list.

It turned out there were only 6 of us. 5 of us knew superman way back in 2003. The new guy is Glen but I met him from previous get-together. The nick who requested and shouted with joy in the forum did not even show up.

Wildflower, sorry if I did not text you back. I was so busy dat day. I at first texted glenchuy to go in place of me, because our graduation was moved to that day and i have to travel from one city to another. I was thinking you might check the forum for the venue.

Mbaboy, he did say he was going to be late but the restaurant was almost closing. I informed him through text and learned he was just leaving his home, so he decided not to go. well, at least he informed us.

But in totality, it was a blessing because we were able to talk to one another about a lot of things. Seen the new product that are not yet out in the market but is already on sale in the USA.

next eb raw. you still there sonny? been helluva **** busy. trying to pick up work in cebu so i can transfer there for a year or two.

how about an out of town eb? anybody want to try sagada/baguio/bontoc/banawe? it'll take around 4 days straight to have fun. 3 days if without baguio. around 5K per person excluding baguio- which is expensive at around an additional 2K more (plus cost of pasalubong). just been there around a month and a half ago. i go there once every year and i miss it already!

sagada is spelunking, hanging gardens viewing, eating!
banawe is mountain trekking, mountain climbing, rainbow viewing (two rainbows touching each other), terraces viewing!

i always, always, always, go on august. it's even rainer by then. this year, we went on june 8,9,10,11,12 so we could avoid the rain since i'm bringing some newbs.

i reminded them that i'm jinxed and that it rains whenever i go up to batad (the town where you can literally walk on the terraces) it's an hour and a half trek. it's been like that for the past five years or so, i bring my special someone, i go alone, i go with officemates, i go with a big group (20+ peeps), it never fails to rain when i'm going to the town (only going TO. going BACK- it never rains)

and true enough, even if the weather was fine and dandy, it rained when we were going to the town. HARD. really hard. i'm used to it - been like that every single time every single year. you get wet and cold, but my friends aren't. i'm lucky that we chanced upon people going back and they sold us their plastic raincoats. hypothermia is a bad thing.
