Barbie is handpicked by Hong Kong actor, Andy Lau, to act together in an NTD60million new movie called “Future Cop”.

Recently in Hong Kong promoting her movie ‘Connected’, Barbie revealed that she would like to act Andy Lau’s wife, because he seems like someone who knows how to protect his lover. Unexpectedly, Barbie’s dream came true. Helmed by director Wong Jing, and martial arts director Ching Siu-Tong, the blockbuster, “Future Cop” (working title), will see Barbie and Andy acting as time-transcending lovers.

In the film, Andy is a cop living in 2085 who accidentally returns to 2010 and meets Barbie, also a cop, and joins forces to capture an international crime syndicate. Barbie defeated more than 10 actresses from China-HK-TW for the role. She was also handpicked by Andy as he had been interviewed by her previously and he hopes that there will be chemistry working together for the first time.

Da S is enjoying singlehood, Monday October 20, 2008 Taiwan
Da S attended the promotional event for her new endorsement in Hong Kong. She has frequently come to Hong Kong for work, and she laughed saying that she always doesn't have time to shop properly, actually she really loves to shop in Hong Kong, as well as eat its food and have massages - she even knows which places sell good vegetarian food. Don't say you didn't know, Da S has been vegetarian for almost 7 years, at the start it was because of her sick dog that she started being vegetarian for a year, later on she got used to it, she feels that it is healthier and doesn't let her get plump easily. She smiles saying that for her future boyfriend, she will not force him to be vegetarian, its just that she likes being one, and she even wants to endorse for vegetarian food. She says, 'Taiwan has a lot of very delicious vegetarian food.'

Earlier on, Da S filmed 'Connected' with Louis Koo and had rumours with him. Today in Hong Kong she said that they would most likely not have the chance to meet. 'Actually when I was working with Gu-Zai(Louis), we hardly ever met outside of work. But I find him very interesting, and we both like the same things, we can talk together very well.'. When asked which Hong Kong star would she like to work with now, she said she would like to work with Louis Koo again, because 'When we were flming Connected, we only had one scene together, its such a pity. Actually after we talked, I realised that he can film just about any kind of movie.'

After Da S and Zaizai broke up, her love life has been empty. But she confesses that singlehood lets her be very happy and not moody at all. 'Now, where I want to go, I can go. If I want to watch a movie, I will. Now I also have more time to accompany my family and take care of Xiao S's children.' She smiled and revealed that every day, other than texting her mother, she doesn't pick up any one's phone calls. Seeing her free and uplifted expression, you will know that actually singlehood for her is actually happy and full of meaning.

In order to raise awareness of and promote World Vision's new "113 Hotline For Protecting Women and Children," ASOS (Barbie Hsu XiYuan (Da S) and Dee Hsu XiDi (Xiao S)) took the time, on October 20, to participate in a short film with children from 位竹師實小, the HsinChu University of Education's Elementary School. Worried that the children, who had never filmed before, would be difficult to control, the two sisters reminded the children over and over to laugh and smile to their hearts' content and told them that the secret to being filmed was to "rely on your expression." The children all cooperated extremely well; there were very few NG's.

Barbie praised the children for being extremely easy to communicate with; Dee played badminton with them during breaks. The children served fast, "killer" balls again and again; Dee was no match for them. She could only sigh that she had "underestimated her opponents."

Dee is already the mother of two and has also "adopted" children through various programs; she has sons and daughters all over the world. She said that, as long as you are very patient and attentive in your treatment of children, it is easy to "open up" their minds and hearts. Barbie said that she, also, really loves children; whenever she hears of children being neglected or abused, she becomes very upset and distressed.

"My So-Called Love", starring Taiwanese actress and singer Barbie Hsu will screen its movie trailer on October 24, Xinhua news agency reports.

Producer Hsu Li Kong, who partnered with famous director Ang Lee in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000) and "The Wedding Banquet"(1993), returns to the limelight this year with his new work, "My So-Called Love".

This time, he teamed up with rising Taiwanese director Leading Lee, for the movie based on a true story.

Taiwanese pop singer Mavis Fan (Fan Xiaoxuan) composed the melody for the title song, for which Barbie Xu wrote the lyrics.

The storyline is about the protagonist, Kitty (played by Barbie Hsu), and her bumpy ten-year journey to find her true love.

Barbie Hsu, who first gained fame for her role in the TV series "Meteor Garden," has become very active on-screen in recent years.

She also starred in Benny Chan's "Connected", which has topped the Hong Kong box office since its premiere last month. Hsu played a resourceful kidnapping victim in the movie, and her acting skill in the role has been widely praised.

The actress seems very confident in this new movie, though the role is complex and requires the actress to appear in some steamy scenes.

Da S's new movie 'My So-Called Love' was the opening for the yearly Kaohsiung Film Festival on the 24th. In the movie, she had relationships with 3 guys - Eddie Peng, Zhang Xiao Quan, and Dong Ming. With many intimate scenes, the director was even worried 'that I would film her like a prostitute'.

'My So-Called Love' is based on a true story, in it, Da S and Eddie Peng are university students who are innocently in love with each other, later she got to know Zhang Xiao Quan and descended into a sex-filled world, at last she found an opening with Dong Ming; all the intimate scenes are taken up by Zhang Xiao Quan.

Da S expressed that she has no confidence in her naked body, and when she films intimate scenes, she would wrap herself up very tightly. She also revealed that in the bed scene in 'Silk', she used a body double. This time, halfway through filming, because of the importance of the bed scenes, she asked the director if they should get a body double, but there was no time.

Though Zhang Xiao Quan has many experiences in bed scenes, Da S exclaimed, 'I've never seen a shyer guy!'. In the movie, after many years with him, she became a very 'forward' person and seduced him. He was supposed to pull Da S's skirt up and grap her breasts, but he couldn't do it. Seeing that time was wasting, Da S suggested that everyone leave the scene, thus the two of them could finally proceed.

Da S is about to produce another movie, this time home-grown movies are popular. But 'Cape No 7's popularity has good and bad consequences for her. Her previous movie 'Connected', came out around the same time as 'Cape', hence the taiwanese box office for her movie didn't do well, but this time 'My So-Called Love' could do well because of the rising popularity of home-grown movies. However, 'Cape's leading lady Chie Tanaka was also invited to the Kaohsiung Film Festival, but the organisers purposely did not let her attend the opening ceremony, on the grounds that she stole Da S's glory, showing their concern for the opening's leading lady.

The third special "group" of guests at FanFan Fan WeiQi's upcoming concert in Taipei has been revealed to be her "good sisters" ASOS (Barbie Hsu (Da S) and Dee Hsu (Xiao S)). They will sing 不能和情人說的話 [Bu Neng He Qing Ren Shuo De Hua] [The Words You Can't Say To Your Sweetheart] together. Barbie, who has long "had her microphone turned off" (hasn't sung), said, "I had originally told FanFan that I only know Chang YuSheng's 天天想你 [Tian Tian Xiang Ni] [Think of You Every Day] and (ASOS') 十分鐘的戀愛 [Shi Fen Zhong De Lian Ai] [Ten-Minute Romance]. And then, a couple of days later, she silently gave me a CD and asked me to practice this song. I couldn't even choose!"

Dee, who calls herself "Little A-mei," revealed, "Originally, I told FanFan that, if we were going to sing a song at the concert, we should choose 那些花兒 [Na Xie Hua Er] [Those Flowers]... it's more suitable." FanFan, however, half-forced and half-persuaded them, saying, "I won't force a song on you, but, if we sang 不能和情人說的話 [Bu Neng He Qing Ren Shuo De Hua] [The Words You Can't Say To Your Sweetheart], it would be even better." FanFan's "unforced" song has brought much pressure to Dee; she had no choice but to clench her teeth and practice the song at home, over and over. One day, she was so moved by her own practicing that her eyes filled with tears; her beloved daughter happened to catch her and asked innocently, "MaMa, what are you doing?" Dee could only answer in embarrassment, "I am singing 不能和情人說的話 [Bu Neng He Qing Ren Shuo De Hua] [The Words You Can't Say To Your Sweetheart]." The result of her hard work and practice? Dee's little daughter can now sing the song as well, duetting with her own mother; this touched FanFan immensely.

After rehearsing together, it was clear that there was great chemistry between the three women; although Dee kept repeating nervously, "There are some spots at which I go out of tune easily!", FanFan's admiration for the sisters was quite high: "XiYuan (Barbie)'s voice is too great! It's very 'clean;' in the past, whenever we go out to sing karaoke, she always sings Faye Wong's songs. Her style is really suitable for Barbie's voice! It's just that Barbie's own demands on herself are sometimes too high. XiDi (Dee)'s voice is very emotional; it's also very distinctive. Blue Lan spent 3 years to move on, Tuesday October 27, 2008 Taiwan
When Da S and Blue break up, he experienced depression and he used his work to cope with his heartache, he faced the world that talks about Da S. 3 years later, he is now stronger, and could open up his feelings.

“Break-up period was very sad"; Blue Lan talks about the collapse of "DaLongLian". He never spoke about it. When asked about DaS, his face expressionless.

But he had changed after 3 years. He went to KangXi to promote, Xiao S asked questions about his past love life. He frankly said "Da S is too clingy"; when they were still together he felt that she does not like his family; He complained Xu Mama likes nagging; before their break up, their differences seemed to uncompromise. Blue Lan came from an ordinary family, his school years, he mostly stay in bed because he often had not taken a meal, but Da S is an exact opposite, everything goes perfectly for her.

Famous movie star Da S came to Shenyang yesterday for Tissot promo. This is her second time in Shenyang, but Da S said "the feeling is different. its too cold!, I cpuld wear short sleeves in Hong Kong!". But Da S fans in Shenyang are still very warm. It was Monday, but numerous fans came to see her. Da S is single and not looking for love, "Singlehood is very nice, I can go anywhere, and can also be with my family!"

After seeing Da S's new movie 'My So Called Love', Xiao S kept saying that there was too much intimacy in the show. When Da S went on Kang Xi Lai Le, Xiao S relentlessly electrified her. Before, Da S was photographed in Eddie Peng's car, and Xiao S kept asking, 'Are you sure you have nothing going on with him?', and even talked about her old love Zaizai, asking Da S: "How was your first bed scene with him?", until Da S was frustrated, and said: "If you bring up Blue Lan or Zai Zai again, you would be reusing old material, and should not be called a proper host.'

In Da S's taiwanese movie 'My So Called Love', she has extremely intimate scenes with it's male lead Joseph Chang; after Xiao S saw it, she described it as: "This is a movie full of intimacy, my sister has bed scenes with three different guys, after filming, she was so excited."

"My So Called Love" casts, Da S, Eddie Peng, Joseph Chang and Easton Dong attended the movie press conference yesterday, their director was also in attendance. After scenes that was reported to be stolen, and re-filming some scenes, finally the movie will be screening soon. Everyone is excited!

In the movie, Da S had bed scenes with her 3 leading men, and regarding this, there were a lot of "first time" for Da S. It was her first time to film a feminist movie, first time to film a movie wherein her character would require her to play an 18 year old-30 year old, and also her first time to have so many bed scenes. Because she's single in real life, she may be in love with 3 handsome men in the movie to make up for her emptiness. When talked about her collaboration with the 3 actors, Da S expressed she's very happy because all of them are younger than her, with her words, the media suddenly asked her "Aren't Zai Zai and Blue Lan younger too?, both her relationships with them were an older sister-younger bro love, Da S really prefers younger guys.

Da S had bed scenes with Eddie Peng and Joseph Chang, and Da S has nothing but high praises for their performance in the movie. In the movie, Da S had exposed her body, but Eddie and Joesph also had their share in the movie. Da S exposed, while filming bed scene with shy Joseph, he was very tense all throughout and so the crew had to leave the set; Eddie Peng was the exact opposite, he was not nervous at all and did not mind the people around them.

The 3 leads had different bed scene preparations, they have quite exposed some of their behind the scenes story. Da S said, she would brush her teeth, would take a bath to make sure her body is clean enough, would also look for an angle where she looks pretty. Eddie Peng on the other hand had prepare himself before filming. He worked out for his body to look well built, and as for Joseph Chang, because he already has a nice body, he just focused himself on his acting.

Christian relief organization World Vision Taiwan appointed yesterday Dee and Barbie Hsu as the charity’s new spokespersons for 2009.

Dee, nicknamed Hsiao S, is a local actress, singer and co-host of the popular television program Kanghsi Lai Le, aired on CTI TV network.

FILM REVIEW: Love changes nothing

Music video director Leading Lee’s debut feature, a forced tale about a woman’s search for love, is a failed attempt to attract a young urban demographic

With heavyweight producer Hsu Li-kong and seasoned television commercial and music video director Leading Lee at the helm, this debut feature should have been a winner — a pop-idol-encrusted cast acting out the familiar plotline of a woman’s search for self-discovery and true love. Unfortunately, the film’s unfocused script, empty visuals and stiff performances mean My So Called Love is likely to be regarded as a regrettable offering in Hsu’s otherwise successful producing career, which includes such titles as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The River.

This film follows Kitty (Barbie Hsu), the pop star and actress better known as Big S, and her 10-year journey to find love. First up is high-school sweetheart Liang (Eddie Peng). Unlike many hormone-charged teenagers, the delectably tanned Liang is a well-mannered gentleman who loves Kitty — but in a platonic way.

Guo is Kitty’s second amour, whom she first encounters when she is forced to prostitute herself over the Internet to make ends meet while Liang is away on military service. Experienced in the game of romance and desire, the older Guo is a charming yuppie who treasures lust over love.

Fast-forward a decade and Kitty has grown into a successful businesswoman, but still finds herself unable to escape her love-hate relationship with Guo. Last but not least in the succession of paramours is the younger Sunshine (Tung Ming-hsiang), a girl who gives Kitty hope again. Tung, who’s hearing-impaired both on and off screen, is warm, loving and seems to embody everything Kitty seeks in life — a home and unconditional love.

Based on the novel by pop music composer and lyricist Hsu Wei-ching, which is in turn based on a true story, the film is ambitious in its attempt to portray women in a contemporary light by touching upon quasi-feminist issues such as sexuality and the changing concept of what constitutes a family and home. But despite the film’s technical polish, the aimless story soon begins to gnaw away at its watchability, which is eroded even further by forced plotlines and dialogue that is both lifeless and somewhat pretentious. As an example, just imagine the following scene: a Don Giovanni-type piles tomes of literature onto the backseat of his luxury vehicle to impress the ladies. The young woman he is courting picks up one of the books and, as if on cue, asks innocently, “What is love?”

In terms of acting the cast is incapable of rescuing the flat, formulaic characters from disaster. Chang looks ridiculous in his portrayal of a bad-boy torn between love and desire. Promising actor Peng is dealt another career setback after his turn in last year’s disastrous rom-com My DNA Says I Love You. Judging from her unintentionally amusing yet still dreadful portrayal of Kitty’s 18-year-old self, Barbie Hsu shows that her years of soap opera experience have yet to qualify her as a serious actress.

Audiences sometimes assume that when a music video director turns his eye to the big screen, the end product will be all looks and no content. My So Called Love will not dispel that notion.

When she was in China filming series ‘A Chinese Ghost Story’, Da S drunk so much dirty water that she had to be rushed back to Taiwan hospital into the emergency room. When she was filming ‘Connected’ in Hong Kong, Da S was repeatedly hit and thrown, but she still insisted to the director: “Let’s do it again, even if my leg breaks, at least I have completed a good shot.” When she was filming ‘My So-Called Love’ in Taiwan, after half of the movie had been filmed, they suddenly realized that the scene of Da S taking a bath had ‘accidentally’ disappeared. She perservered and finished filming the movie, but so to attend the premiere in Taiwan, she missed the opportunity to film a new movie with Zhang Zi Yi.

When asked Da S: “Don’t you think it’s a pity?” She laughed and replied: “Responsibility is more important than opportunity, isn’t it? I have a serious attitude towards my completed works, and I will try my best to co-operate with promotions; if something is fated to belong to me, then in the future, it will definitely come back to find me.”

Da S not only has a cool attitude towards work, two high-profile relationships were both ended by her. Yesterday afternoon, Da S (大S) went to Guang Zhou to attend an event for the 'Da Dong Fashion Women's Shoes' she was endorsing. Even though celebrities have hundreds of different reasons for being late, there are some who don't bother to mention that they would be late, making it very difficult for hosts at an event. Director Wong Jing and art director Chan Siu-tung took care of 5 cameras shooting all angles of Andy Lau's daughter Xu Jiao being kidnapped, Barbie Hsu rescue people, Andy Lau exerted his "powers" till he could fly and goes underground. Some trivia on the movie:

1. The plot: Andy Lau plays a cop from the future, 2085, while Xu Jiao plays his daughter, who's kidnapped and brought back to 2010. Andy Lau, traipsing through time, will have a cross-dimensional romance with present-day cop Barbie Hsu as they team up to find the kidnappers.

2. Andy Lau reportedly agreed to join the film after the 19th rewrite of the preliminary script.

3. On 27 November 2008, media were invited for a visit. Andy and Fang Bingbing appeared in their future cop attire, Xu Jiao whom made her name in CJ7 appear as a pretty girl.
