Tubbataha: Kandidato Sa New Seven Wonders Of Nature

Mula sa Puerto Princesa Palawan ang paglalakbay sa bangka o dive boat patungo ng Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park ay mahigit siyam na oras, depende sa hagupit ng hangin at kapag panahon pa ng habagat umaabot ng labingdalawang oras ang biyahe.

Noong March 26 alas otso ng gabi ay naglayag ako sakay ng Minerva ang research boat ng WWF Puerto Princesa Palawan patungo ng Tubbataha. Si Angelique Songco, ang Park Superintendent ng Tubbataha Marine Park ang nanguna sa ekspedisyon.

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/images/news/newspics/04-02-2008/abner2.jpg Inimbitahan ako ni Songco para matuklasan ang angking kaganadahan ng Tubbataha. Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataong nagtungo ako ng Tubbataha. Nooong 1997 nang una akong maglayag patungo ng Tubbataha.

Alas kuwatro ng umaga pagkatapos ng kalmadong paglalakabay narating namin ang Tubbataha. Naghintay pa kami ng pagbubukang liwayway, sa pangalawang pagkakataon narating ko ang ipinagmamalaking Mecca Diving Capital ng bansa. Matatagpuan sa pusod ng Sulu ang Tubbataha.

Sagana sa isda at corals





Sagana sa pangisdaan ang Tubbataha nang sumisid ako sa ilalim nito at nakita ko ang mga kawan ng Jacks o Talikitok, Hump Head, may mga pawikan din gaya ng Olive Ridley at Hawksbill, marami ding rays na matatagpuan dito. Marami ding endangered na Napoleon Wrasse o Mameng, ito yong uri ng isda na ilegal na hinuli ng mga inarestong mangingisdang Tsino noong Disyembre 2006.

Malawak at makulay din ang mga corals na maaaring pumantay sa Great Barrier ng Australia. Noong 1993 idineklara ang Tubbataha ng United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization o UNESCO bilang World Heritage Site. Ngayon isa na naman ang talaan na nais nitong masungkit na maglalagay sa mapa ng mundo para mapabilang sa new seven wonders of nature.

"Isipin mo na lang ang prestige the whole world will hear, ano ba yang new seven wonders of nature, natural site. Isipin mo yong hatak niyan sa turismo," ayon kay Songco. Umaapela siya sa mga Pilipino na suportahan ang Tubbataha para mapabilang sa New Seven Wonders of Nature.

"To rally all Filipinos for a common cause kasi itong Tubbataha Marine Park ay hindi lang sa Palaweño but to all Filipinos and to all others to be able to protect marine are," sabi ni Governor Joel Reyes ng Palawan sa kaniyang pahayag nang makapanayam ko sa Kapitolyo sa Puerto Princesa bago ako tumulak ng Tubbataha.

Samantalang dalawa pang natural sites ng Pilipinas, gaya ng Chocolate Hills sa Bohol at Mayon Volcano sa Kabikulan ang nasa short list din ng mga kandidatong mapabilang sa New Seven Wonders of Nature.

Makabubuting iboto ng mga Pinoy ang tatlong panlaban ng Pilipinas para maging malakas ang pag-asang makakapasok ang alinman sa tatlong natural sites ng bansa.

Kampanya para sa Tubbataha



Isang research boat na lulan ng mga dayuhang diver mula Amerika at Inglatera sa pangunguna ni Allan White, isang marine scientist, ang inakyat ko habang kami ay nasa Tubbataha. Ikinampanya ko ang Tubbataha para suportahan ito. Si White ay nakabase sa Honolulu at kasal sa isang Batanguenya na si Evangeline kaya hindi ako nagtaka na nasa puso nito ang pagsuporta sa Tubbataha.

"We’ve been passing out the vote cards to volunteer divers and I believe a number of them will vote for Tubbataha," pahayag ni White sa tanong ko kung makakaasa ako ng kanilang boto kahit sila’y mga dayuhan.



Apat na araw ang inilagi ng aking paglalakbay sa Tubbataha bago muling nakabalik sa Puerto Princesa, mauga ang pakiramdam nang lumapag kami muli sa lupa, hindi agad mawala ang hilo dahil sa nagdaang apat na araw ay sa barko lang ng WWF kami natutulog.

Pero sulit ang paglalakabay. At hangad ko na mapabilang at maitala ang Tubbataha bilang New Seven Wonders of Nature. Sa 2010 pararangalan sa Lisbon, Portugal ang mahihirang na New Seven Wonders of Nature

Tubbataha Reef, Reef

PHILIPPINES

Tubbataha Reef is an atoll coral reef in the Sulu Sea that belongs to the Philippines. It is a marine sanctuary protected as Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park. The reef is composed of two atolls, North and South Reefs. Each reef has a single small islet that protrudes from the water. The atolls are separated by a deep channel 8 kilometers wide. Over one thousand species, including many that are endangered, can be found at on the reef. These include manta rays, lionfish, tortoises, clownfish and sharks.

Mayon Volcano

Mayon Volcano is an active volcano on the Filipino island of Luzo, 15 km northwest of Legazpi City.It is classified by volcanologists as a stratovolcano (composite volcano). Its symmetric cone was formed through alternate pyroclastic and lava flows. Mayon is the most active volcano in the country, having erupted over 47 times in the past 400 years, and is a part of what is called the Pacific Ring of Fire.

PBB holds first ever graduation rites

Pinoy Big Brother once again made history as three teen housemates marched during a graduation ceremony that Kuya especially prepared for them inside his famous house.

Last Tuesday night, April 1, “Prisoner’s Daughter” Rona, “True Blue” Atenean Robi and “Bubbly Girl” Jieriel were given the opportunity to march alongside their proud parents -- Mommy Rose, Daddy Boy, and Daddy Gerry.

The other teen housemates were also present during the ceremony and so were Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition (PBBTE) Plus host Bianca Gonzalez, PBBTE1 2nd Big Placer Mikee Lee, and representatives from the three graduates’ respective schools.

And like any other graduation ceremony, diplomas and honors were given to the graduates. Jieriel from Davao got a CAT Award while Robi from Quezon City was given his 2nd honors medal from Ateneo High School.

After the rites, the teen housemates were delighted to find food served up by Kevin’s Daddy John and Alex’s Mommy Minda, who along with the other guardians, are just staying next door to the unsuspecting teenagers.

What will happen next in this exciting edition of PBBTE Plus? Will the teen housemates finally learn about their guardians’ presence inside the house?

Metro folk in for 38-degree weather

The health department and the weather bureau advised the public to take extra care particularly since the already hot temperature could still go up to 38 degrees Celsius from this month until May.

The Department of Health said the hot temperature can cause heat-related diseases like cough and colds or worst heat stroke that may result to death.

A person suffering from heat stroke may experience the following symptoms: falling unconscious, comatose and brain dysfunction.

The DOH said young and old are susceptible to heat stroke. To prevent this, the DOH reminded the public to drink water regularly, wear appropriate summer clothing and not to stay under the sun.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (PAGASA) said the temperature in Metro Manila is now at 35 degrees Celsius.

In Central Luzon, the hottest temperature recorded is 36 degrees and 37 degrees in Tuguegarao.

PAGASA had asked the public to brace for an even hot weather where temperature can go up from 38 to 40 degrees Celsius this month until May due to the effects of La Niña and global warming.

Meanwhile, humans are not the only ones that are affected by the very warm weather.

Dr. Momi Bernardo, a veterinarian, said animal especially house pets like heavily coated dogs and birds, can also suffer from heat stress.

Bernardo appealed to pet owners to also see to the needs of their animals to prevent them from having heat stroke. The pets should have regular baths and kept in well-ventilated areas. With a report from Alex Santos, ABS-CBN News

Sharon on Gabby: 'There's no more pain'
but 'no closure' either

During the Wednesday contract signing for her new movie "Caregiver" under Star Cinema, megastar Sharon Cuneta shared her thoughts about the return of actor Gabby Concepcion--the father of her eldest daughter KC.

Gabby is back in the Philippines and is trying to revive his showbiz career after staying in the United States for 13 years.

When asked about how she felt about Gabby's comeback. Sharon replied that she already gave her statement through Ricky Lo's column.

"Can I just say this, I honestly, honestly don't know. It's different when someone is far away and different when (he's here). I didn't see his interview but I'd been told. But what I said in the diaryo that's essentially (it).

"I hope you understand that it's a very sensitive issue and I'm in a situation that's intrigue-friendly... but I will say that I wish that we could do a movie together because we each have our own life; there are people in our lives now that mean more to us than we once meant to each other, and it's not just our feelings anymore. There are other people involved.

"So as an actress and a professional I've been here 30 years, and it would have been a wonderful thing... So I'd say I'm used to working with him because we did grow up together and I started my career with him. But siguro you know it's been so long when we did "Dear Heart" I was 15 and I'm now 42.

"Our daughter is turning 23 on April 7 and when I was 23, I was already a single parent [and I] really immersed myself and worked, and refused to take a day off except to be with KC because I needed to. I'm actually amazed and half-surprised and half-not really, that we still have a huge following and that tita Malou Santos told me that the biggest clamor is for a movie, Sharon-Gabby.

"It's hard lang talaga and I really don't know. I'm so sorry and as honestly as I can put it I don't know what to say but I just realized, I don't know if it was printed but I told Kuya Ricky that I realized only recently that when I came across something about him--there's no more pain because I'm in a good position now. God blessed me with a husband who's really loving and caring. I have a great family and I would not do anything to disrupt the peace and happiness of the home that we have," Sharon said.

But when asked if there's already a complete closure with their past relationship, Sharon said: "No, there's never been closure."

New film
Sharon said that she's very happy about the fact that she's making her new movie under Star Cinema with acclaimed director Chito Roño at the helm.

"All I can say is that it's really beautiful apart from it being my comeback sort of comeback after four years of being absent in big screen. And I'm coming from 'Walang Kapalit'; 'Kung Ako na Lang Sana" and "Crying Ladies" in 2003. And then I got pregnant, had Miel, raised her, lost weight, looked decent enough to start filming and still losing weight so I will be cuter na," she said.

"Caregiver" is Sharon's 20th year anniversary offering to her fans and supporters and is at the same time Star Cinema's 15th anniversary offering.

Present during the contract signing were ABS-CBN's Chairman and CEO Gabby Lopez III and Malou Santos, the managing director of Star Cinema.

Sharon said that she did not think twice about accepting the project since it's also her dream to work with a great director like Chito Roño. Sharon is flying to London to shoot scenes for the movie.

"So when the story was pitched to me I had no doubt in my mind that I had to do the movie. Apart from the story, of course, one of my dreams has always been to be directed by Director Chito. Now parang do dreams have come true so I'm really grateful."

Sharon admitted that she will really be having a hard time shooting abroad since it's her first time to be away from her two little kids Frankie and Miel.

"I know it's going to be hard filming in London, I'm leaving in two days it's the first time I will be away with my two little children and my husband for that long. So I have separation anxiety--not my children."

She said that she will return to the Philippines in time to celebrate her wedding anniversary with husband Senator Francis Pangilinan. "Three weeks I have to be home though before the 28th kasi that's my 12th wedding anniversary."

Q: How are you doing?

A: I'm doing great. How can I complain? Everything is good.

Q: Seeing you since Saturday, since you arrived and up till now, it has been non-stop. They've already coined it "Gabby mania." People are lined up waiting to take pictures of you. How do you feel?

A: I feel really good about that. Sometimes, I don't know how to feel about things, but that feels good, in general. Like I said, I can't complain, and this is all new to me knowing that I've been back after 13 years.

Q: What did you expect coming back?

A: I didn't expect anything, actually. What I really felt was that when I get back, I'd be a regular Joe.

Q: Really?

A: Kasi I didn't think that people would, you know, react the way they did.

Q: How would you rate their welcome of you now compared to... You were popular before, as I said earlier, maybe at the height of your love team, of your career. I wasn't around yet, but (laughs) I really just have to sneak that in. I'm just kidding. How would you compare that to now? I mean, do you feel the same warmth and love from your fans?

A: When I first came in, I didn't think of anything. But when all of these started happening, especially here in ABS-CBN... I didn't know the magnitude and intensity before, I was probably neglecting that. Pero now, it was intense. I just can't compare the difference. But there's quite of a presence of, you know, the surprise.

Q: Does it make you blush when people still say that you haven't changed after 13 years?

A: Oh yeah. I know I have. I've gained some weight, changed a little bit, but you know, I get flattered when people say that.

On his father's medical condition

Q: Let's go back to the reason why you did come back to the Philippines after so long. And you've mentioned before, it's because of your dad, and you want to spend time with him. How is your dad doing?

A: He's doing fine. The modern medicine is definitely keeping him with us. He's living a quality life, definitely. I really wanted to see him before anything else. Life is short, they say, di ba?

Q: But is this to see him for a couple of weeks, see him for a vacation? Or is this to be with him and to take care of him for sometime?

A: That was my intention, just to stay because I have work back pa in the US. So, I needed to go back. Pero when all of these started happening, you know, I thought it would be a good opportunity to settle things. And then it just snowballed - from my dad, to things that I need to do, and to now, you now, going back to showbiz.

Q: And have those things been crossed off your list? What are the things that have been crosed off your list?

A: Well, that's what I did. I didn't cross that off my list. I didn't think of coming back to do anything in showbiz. What I wanted to do is just come back and spend quality time with my family.

On his return to showbiz

Q: But as of yesterday you've signed a...two-year contract is it?

A: That's one of the snowball effect. Yeah, we did sign with ABS-CBN and I feel good about that. That was a bonus.

Q: There's already so much talk. Of course, you've just signed with ABS-CBN. Who's going to be your first leading lady? Sinong makakasama mo sa unang mga proyekto mo sa ABS-CBN?

A: Hindi ko pa alam kung sino talaga. Marami silang sinasabi. Ang dami nakikita kong mga stars ng ABS. Gusto ko nga silang makasama lahat kung maaari. They have very good, strong caliber artists.

Q: Who do you prefer? Someone from your past, a past leading lady? Or a new one?

A: Oh yeah, I don't mind. Like I said, if I can work with everybody, I love to work with everybody.

On a Gabby-Sharon love team, again

Q: Siyempre hinihingi talaga ng mga fans ang Gabby-Sharon love team.

A: Oo nga, maganda 'yon, maganda rin 'yon.

Q: And sometimes, it gets touched upon. Pero hindi nga, sabi nga ni Sharon in today's paper, maybe it might get played around, and maybe things might get misinterpreted.

A: Yeah, she said that many times. I think I've seen that, baka paglaruan lang. And I agree, on both sides.

Q: Kasi both of you have separate lives now. But your family, your wife now is open to bring back old love teams?

A: Yeah, yeah. In fact, she's a trooper.

Q: Well, let's talk about someone else that is very important aside from your dad. Your daughter who is one of the top young actresses, endorsers, everything, all of the above, in this country. And she looks beautiful in this magazine cover. You guys are a splitting image. What do you feel when you see KC like this? I mean, this is a very sexy image.

A: Sometimes, I don't recognize her, honestly. I see pictures...

Q: I think you should grow you hair out (laughs)

A: I was just thinking earlier, and I saw a picture when I was back there, no, sabi ko "Saan ko kinuha to? Hindi ko maalala kung saan kinuha to." And then nabasa ko 'yong magazine. It was 2005, I think, 2006. Sabi ko, "bago ito, ha." And I looked at it and then I looked at the inside it was KC. So shocking.

Q: You can see how she matured, of course, but when you see these medyo sensual pictures of your daughter what comes to mind?

A: Angelina Jolie (laughs). Just kidding.

Q: Proud-na-proud?

A: Yeah. Ang make-up ni KC, when you make her up, she changes. I've seen that in magazines, which is good because her face alone is already, you know, you can change it in different ways. So it's artistic, in a way. She can, I think, play different characters based on how she can look pala. I didn't even know that.

Q: Are you fearful for her entering showbiz?

A: Well, in a way. Kasi medyo I know sa showbiz, kasi maraming, you know, hidden, unknown, what do you call this, factors that they can come up. The usual intrigue that might get her eventually. At nangyari na yan. I've heard about ibang intriga na nangyayari sa kanya at hindi lang sa kanya. It happens to everybody. And I just hope she can take that. Like I've said naman. she can handle all of that. She's a tough cookie.

Q: And all the boys na nangliligaw sa kanya. Anong nararamdaman mo na when you hear about it? Are you a protective dad?

A: Good. I'm open to that. Everybody deserves to love somebody somehow or something like that, di ba? Mangyayari at mangyayari yan.

On his daughter Gabrielle

Q: And then you've mentioned nagkita na rin kayo ng mga, some other people that you might have left behind when you left. There were a couple of stories out, were you reunited na with your other daughter, Gabrielle?

A: Oh yeah. In fact, I saw her the other night. Ok naman. We hugged each other. We keep in touch also. Nakita ko rin siya sa America. I've seen her here. So, everything's back to normal which is good.

Q: So, how would you describe your pag-return mo ngayon sa Philippines up to this point?

A: Oh, how do I describe it? Wala, it's just overwhelming. Sometimes, I can't even believe I'm back home. I'm excited. I didn't expect like this to happen and it's all happening. It's like a gift. The surprise element, you know, I love it.

On how he has changed

Q: How does a Gabby now differ from the Gabby back then? And how you want people to see you in this light?

A: Well, I hope they don't look at me any differently. I think I've changed, I've matured in many ways. You know, emotionally and spiritually. I used to take things for granted. Pero ngayon, I give value to anything that I see, anyone that I see, anything that I do. As a whole, talagang different. And when they say, "umaarte lang yan." Papaano ka aarte na after 13 years nangyari sa iyo ang nangyari sa iyo na hindi magiging totoo yong ginagawa mo ngayon? Siyempre wala na yong element ng showbiz sa akin, kinalimutan ko na yon. Napunta na ako sa tunay na buhay na walang lights, walang camera, so walang, you know, let's call it plasticity, puro tao-tao lang. So, I comeback now and I value that. I know how it feels to be down there.

Q: Will you continue your real estate business here in the Philippines?

A: I might not. I know it will take a lot of my time. I'd love to. I don't know the ways, things are down here. Pero if I get involved in showbusiness, now entertainment, doing this, doing that, I might not have time for it. But if I don't get too deep in the business, then I might go into real estate. My doors are open.

Q: So, we're looking at seeing your face more often, I think, to the delights of all your fans? Are you endorsing something? Will you be the face of something? As you've said before, na-discover yong face mo noon sa ads and commercials. Ano kaya ang magiging face mo ngayon?

A: I don't know. I hear there have been talks about doing other commercials, but I don't want to say anything right now.

Q: Sexy modeling kaya (laughs)?

A: I don't know.

'American Idol’ contestant hospitalized after show

LOS ANGELES - A top "American Idol" contestant was taken to a hospital emergency room after Tuesday night's show suffering from heart palpitations and high blood pressure, a source close to the show said on Wednesday.

David Cook, who performed country legend Dolly Parton's ballad "Little Sparrow" on Tuesday's broadcast as one of the nine "Idol" finalists, was driven to a local hospital on the recommendation of a staff medic, the source said.

Cook, a rocker who sports a "soul patch" on his chin and has been pegged by the judges as a possible dark horse to win the massively popular Fox television talent competition this year, was treated at the hospital and released.

The source said Cook, 25, had already returned to the set of "Idol," which will eliminate another would-be star during the live Wednesday night broadcast.

No further details were available on Cook's condition, but the celebrity news Web site TMZ.com reported that he had been under stress in recent weeks due to an illness in his family.

People magazine reported on its Web site that Cook, who won praise from the judges by reworking pop hits such as Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" into slow-burning rock songs, was noticeably absent from a gathering of fellow contestants just after Tuesday's broadcast.

"American Idol" pits singers against one another in a months-long competition for a professional recording contract. Past winners including Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have gone on to music stardom, as have some runners-up like Clay Aiken.

The weekly show draws nearly 30 million viewers, making it the most-watched program on U.S. television.

Other finalists include: Brooke White, 24; early fan favorite David Archuleta, 17; Kristy Lee Cook, 24; Michael Johns, 29; and Ramiele Malubay, 20.

The winner of the show's seventh season will be announced during a live finale in May.

Let’s hope that the law of gravity doesn’t catch up with Cristine Reyes on whom GMA Network has just slammed its door with a "good riddance" tag stuck at her back.

You see, these past few weeks, Cristine has been blithely showing up in shows on rival channel ABS-CBN, among them Wowowee which is hosted by her "special friend" Willie Revillame, saying that her contract with GMA has expired.

"She is welcome to leave," according to a statement from the GMA Corporate Communications Dept. (CCD). Meaning, if she wants to go, by all means go!

GMA has decided to drop Cristine Reyes from its roster of talents because of her attitude and behavior. She is welcome to leave. Another Fil-Am actress starting to shine in Hollywood

There’s another Fil-Am actress who is making a name in Hollywood. She’s none other than Liza Lapira who is in the cast of Columbia Pictures’ new thriller 21 which opened last week at No. 1 in the US and North American box-office with a $24.1-M gross.

Most recognized in Hollywood for her turn in the Showtime series Huff, Lapira plays Kianna in 21, a key member of a group of M.I.T’s most gifted students that heads to Las Vegas every weekend armed with fake identities and the know-how to turn the odds at blackjack in their favor. By counting cards and employing an intricate system of signals, the team can beat the casinos big time.

Also starring Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth and Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe), 21 is based on the novel Bringing Down the House, the true story of the very brightest young minds in America — and how they took Vegas for millions.

In the film’s production notes, Lapira says that she was astounded by the chance to work with Spacey.

"I was so excited to find out that I got this role with Kevin in the movie. I know it’s a cliché thing to say, but just watching him work, I learned a lot."

Two weeks prior to filming, Lapira and the other actors who play the M.I.T. team of card counters spent time with card consultant Kyle Morris to learn how to play the game.

Lapira explains, "Before being in this movie, I never thought playing blackjack was fun. But thanks to ‘research,’ we got to go to a lot of cool places. It didn’t feel like we were working!"

Lapira, who pronounces her name Lisa, will next star in Repossession Mambo, opposite Jude Law and Forest Whitaker.

Lapira made her mark in television with a recurring role on Showtime’s Emmy award-winning show Huff. She played Maggie Del Rosario, Oliver Platt’s long-suffering assistant.

Her film credits include Domino, Brown Sugar and LA Blues. Her notable credits on television include guest appearances on Grey’s Anatomy, Monk, The Sopranos and Sex and the City. She has also recurring roles on Law & Order: SVU and NCIS.

She is originally from Queens, New York, and moved to Los Angeles in 2004.

Opening across the Philippines in May, 21 is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

George Clooney sees career shift ahead

But don't think Clooney, 46, the suave leading man in many blockbusters in a career spanning more than 20 years, is leaving Hollywood anytime soon. He is turning increasingly to directing.

Clooney says he is more successful than he ever dreamed he would be, most recently starring in last year's Oscar-nominated drama "Michael Clayton" and the football comedy "Leatherheads," which he also directed and which opens on Friday.

"Ten years from now, I imagine people will be fairly sick of seeing a lot of us who are on camera now," Clooney told Reuters. "My hope is I'll be directing more. That is my goal."

"Leatherheads," co-starring Renee Zellweger, marks his third film as a director after "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and "Good Night, and Good Luck."

Clooney said he may begin work on a fourth directing job, tentatively titled "Suburbicon" written by "No Country for Old Men" brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, at the end of this year.

"I like doing it. It's really creative and fun and a place where I want to put most of my focus," Clooney said.

It was roughly 10 years ago when he first read a screenplay for "Leatherheads." he was a popular television actor on hospital drama "ER," but he had suffered through two poorly received movies in "Batman and Robin" and "The Peacemaker."

The turning point came in 1998 with a starring role in drama "Out of Sight," directed by Steven Soderbergh, that won over film critics and moviegoers.

WOMEN AND MONEY

It was Soderbergh who imagined Clooney in the lead role of "Leatherheads." He plays Dodge Connelly, an aging star of professional football, circa 1925, whose looks and charm help him woo women but do little to keep his team on firm financial footing.

Just after Dodge calls it quits for lack of money, along comes college star and war hero Carter "The Bullet" Rutherford (John Krasinski) to lure fans and put Dodge back in business.

They both fall for a woman reporter (Zellweger), but true to movie-style romance, only one can win in the game of love.

Unlike the political drama "Good Night, and Good Luck" and the legal thriller "Michael Clayton" -- both nominated for the best film Oscar -- "Leatherheads" is not going to win any awards.

But after acting in the oil and politics drama "Syriana" and last year's serious-minded "Clayton," Clooney (the actor) figured it was time to perform in a film that was fun. Clooney (the director) wanted to show he could make a comedy after proving his deft hand at drama.

"I needed to do something completely different or I was going to become the 'issues director,'" Clooney said. "That sort of ends your career really quickly when the issues change."

So, he "dusted off" the script he had read 10 years earlier and shaped "Leatherheads" into the type of comedy he wanted to make -- lighthearted and certainly not issue-oriented.

Clooney said the toughest part of making the movie was acting and directing himself in the football scenes because often the actor in him would be too bruised to go on, but the director in him knew he needed another take.

But after a long career of mostly acting, he was doing what he wanted -- directing.

PBB host Bianca Gonzalez open to being reunited with Lino Cayetano

Pinoy Big Brother host and endorser Bianca Gonzales said that she is open to the idea of getting back together with former sweetheart director Lino Cayetano if the director would woo her again.

"Oh no, if he will court me again? Parang ngayon it would be obvious na parang now I'm saying I'm happy, we are okay. I think it’s obvious naman that there’s a possibility on my part. But we will see, we are in touch," Gonzales told abs-cbnNEWS.com in an interview inside the ABS-CBN compound.

Gonzales and Cayetano parted ways on December 2006 partly because of Gonzales' relationship with model-turned-actor Zanjoe Marudo during their stint in the PBB Celebrity Edition.

"Of course, it's a part of it. I wouldn't say it's the only reason. I wouldn't say na it's a big reason. But it's a part of it. Both of us, we have our own pains and issues with each other," Gonzales had earlier told members of entertainment media about the role of the issue with Marudo in her breakup with Cayetano.

After their breakup, a love affair blossomed between Cayetano and actress KC Concepcion, but on January 26 of this year reports said that the Concepcion-Cayetano relationship ended due to Cayetano's renewal of his relationship with his former girlfriend, Gonzales.

Now, Gonzales said that she and the director are on good terms but refused to comment on whether they are officially together again.

"Okey naman kami. ...(but on being together again) we will see, even me I don’t want to say because I don’t know kung ano ang mangyayari sa akin the next couple of months or anything," the host said.

But when asked if they are more than just friends, Gonzales replied, "Ang hirap naman ng deeper parang we were in a relationship before so parang when you’re friends again it’s not exactly friends, we are not together also. Me personally, I'm taking my time so we will see."

Meanwhile, Gonzales refrained from answering when asked if Cayetano is starting to give hints that he wanted another chance to be with her again.

"In time, in time siguro kapag mas may concrete na akong maikukuwento," Gonzales said.

Bianca Monica Malasmas Gonzales in real life, started her career as a model for fashion magazines. Her first on-cam break as a host in ABS-CBN was for the now-defunct show "Review Night." After a year, she got her Studio 23 stint as a tadjock for "Wazzup Wazzup."

Before she joined Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition and landed as a third placer, she also became part of morning shows "Breakfast" on Studio 23 and "Magandang Umaga Pilipinas" on ABS-CBN.

Right now Gonzales is busy as one of the hosts for ABS-CBN's reality show, Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus.

One of the questions asked was the hypothetical willingness of the host to buy off "Eat... Bulaga!" due to huge debt it owns to GMA Network. Clearly, Willie does not want to get involved in the fun question so he tried to dismiss it as soon as he could. That is why those statements attributed to him are not his but to those writers or their editors who tried to spice up those reports.

Willie was particularly relaxed during the interview considering he had just finished a three-hour show. He was giving (he gave out three brand new NOKIA mobile phones), philosophical and non-confrontative. He understood how Christine Reyes did not fall for him. Close this MANILA, Philippines -- The Supreme Court affirmed a libel conviction on showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin, or Cristinelli Fermin, and ordered her to pay P806,000 to couple Anabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez instead of serving the jail term slapped on her by a lower court.

A 24-page decision penned by Associate Justice Antonio Eduardo Nachura upheld the decisions of the Court of Appeals and the Quezon City Regional Trial Court finding Fermin guilty of libel.

Fermin had originally been sentenced to a jail term of from three months and 11 days of arresto mayor as minimum, to one year, eight months and 21 days of prision correccional as maximum.

But the high court, in keeping with a recent circular it had issued on libel convictions, ordered the columnist to pay the hefty fine instead of serving the sentence.

Fermin argued that being the publisher of the tabloid Gossip, she had no direct participation in the June 14, 1995 article about Rama and her alleged case before a US court.

Fermin added that the article, in its entirety is not defamatory.

But the high court pointed out that Fermin’s admission she is also the chairperson and president of the tabloid proved she had full control over the publication of articles.

"Petitioner’s criminal guilt should be affirmed, whether or not she had actual knowledge and participation, having furnished the means of carrying on the publication of the article purportedly prepared by the members of the Gossip reportorial team, who are employees under her control and supervision," the high court said.

The tribunal also pointed out that "to say that the article, in its entirety, is not libelous disturbs one's sensibilities…There is evident imputation of the crime of malversation; of vices or defects for being fugitives from the law; and of being a wastrel. The attribution was made publicly, considering that Gossip Tabloid had a nationwide circulation. The victims were identified and identifiable. More importantly, the article reeks of malice, as it tends to cause the dishonor, discredit or contempt of the complainants

ABS-CBN 2007 net profits up 62% yr/yr

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. (ABS-CBN) made a net profit in 2007 of over P1.2 billion compared with the P740.55 million it earned a year before.

Eugenio L. Lopez III, chairman and chief executive officer, said the strong performance in 2007 was boosted by revenues from ABS-CBN Global, the company's international unit.

The company, he added, also booked a one-time gain from Sky Cable following ABS-CBN's purchase of the cable firm's debt at a discount.

"More than the net profit, I would like to highlight that our EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) last year amounted to more than P4 billion," said Lopez. EBITDA is a measure of a company's operating cash flow.

The company is set to officially announce its 2007 financial results on April 8.

Why Korina is holding an ‘open house’

If you happen to be in the neighborhood of a well-appointed subdivision in Makati and pass by a white house with white bougainvilleas against a white fence, with a pretty flower garden in front...yes, that’s Korina Sanchez’s home. The simple facade belies the beautiful way Korina renovated and decorated the 1960s house inside.

But these days, the interiors might be unrecognizable, except for the collection of the masters’ artworks on the walls, because the lady of the house has transformed it into a virtual tiangge. Since late last year, Korina has been holding an “open house,” turning the ground floor into a tiangge packed full with Korina’s “brand new-with-tags” or “used once” dresses, gowns, pants and blouses.

“Everything is priced way down from the original,” Korina told Funfare. “But most of the items are a size-4 down to a size-0, American size. Some are a size 6 from my eating days and either a small or a medium. Sorry but no sizes larger than that. Some of the shoes are new, some are worn, size-5.5 and size-6 only.”

Something happened that led Korina to this.

“I figured that I don’t really need so much of the clothes, bags, shoes and accessories I had amassed over the years working in television.”

Korina did a story in Umiray, Quezon, years ago when there was a succession of three storms that hit Aurora Province where thousands were displaced and thousands more were killed. Touched by the tragedy, Korina committed to fund a housing project for an initial 20 families. She also plans to start a livelihood program making products she can sell in department stores for the families’ income. The money she earns from her tiangge comes in handy.

“Each house costs P50,000, complete with a bathroom and windows, with enough space for a family.”

Asked why she doesn’t, when she very well can, solicit donations, Korina said, “My commitment is that this has to come from my own pocket. It’s not cheap. I also support other families and students, which makes this a real labor of love. So I thought, why not sell what I don’t even use?”

Korina has so far brought her traveling K Bazaar to her home station ABS-CBN, to her subdivision’s pre-summer homeowner’s bazaar, to her staff’s home where she gives her staff a discount with six-months-to-pay terms. Until April 6, Sunday, the public can find a good buy in the Grand Fiesta Summer Bazaar organized by her kumare Tintin Bersola at the Rockwell Tent, open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“All proceeds from my booth will go to my housing project in Umiray,” said Korina.

Isang nurse by profession si Thou Reyes na akala ko ay imported dahil talaga namang egoy na egoy ang itsura niya. Pinoy na Pinoy siya, both of his parents are.

Di ko talaga inaakala na isa siyang nurse. Mas nagulat pa ako nang sabihin niyang isa siyang teacher, nagtuturo ng livelihood programs, at caregiver for three years now.

Nagsimula si Thou sa Ang TV, kasabay sina Kaye Abad at Bodjie Cruz. Nawala lamang siya dahil tinapos niya ang kanyang nursing course. Sa Mossimo Bikini siya muling namataan ni Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) at ginawa siyang Kapamilya.

ABS-CBN Broadcasting's net profit jumps 71% in 2007

MANILA, Philippines -- Media group ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday a 71 percent increase in net profit to P1.27 billion ($30.5 million) for 2007.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization exceeded P4 billion, the company said in a statement. It gave no details.

"This was achieved despite another year of a downturn in the TV advertising industry, manifested in lower TV advertising minutes," the company said.

ABS-CBN is controlled by one of the family-owned conglomerates in the Philippines, Benpres Holdings Corp.

Last month, rival GMA Network Inc. reported a 19 percent increase in net profit in 2007 to P2.33 billion, with revenue growing 9.0 percent to P12 billion.

Both broadcasters are also in the movie and music businesses.

They have both reported rising earnings contributions from their operations overseas. (By Enrico dela Cruz)

In fact, nangako na nga raw ang isang executive na paiimbestigahan niya ang insidenteng hindi nailagay si Richard sa summer plug launch.

Sa panayam kay Raymond kahapon, sinabi rin niyang kung may mga tampo man, sana raw ay maayos ito.

Gabby offers to return P1.75M to GMA Films

MANILA, Philippines-After being reminded of his obligations to GMA Films, Gabby Concepcion’s camp assured that they will return the P1.75-million downpayment, with interest, for his contract with the Kapuso network.

“Kagabi ipinadala na ng asawa ni Gabby from San Francisco ang perang ibabalik sa GMA-7 (Last night, Gabby’s wife already sent from San Francisco the money from GMA-7). We are ready to return the money, with interest," lawyer Jose Flaminiano, the husband of Gabby’s manager, Rose, told Chika Minute reporter Nestor Canlas on Thursday.

It was not mentioned how much the interest was.

Lawyers of GMA Films earlier sent a letter to the actor notifying him of his existing contract.

Gabby was said to have received an initial amount of P1.75-million for the movie, “I.T.A.L.Y. (I Trust And Love You)" with Jolina Magdangal but was as replaced by Zaido star Dennis Trillo after the ‘80s matinee idol backed out.

Gabby’s manager explained that the movie did not materialize since Gabby didn’t approve of the script, thinking that since it was his comeback film, the story should revolve around him.

Meanwhile, GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar replied that it’s up to them to accept the terms of Gabby’s camp.

“Kasi contract nay un eh (It was already a contract). It was partially executed and they cannot just finish a contract with that," Abrogar said.

“Hindi pwedeng solian lang ng kandila. Pagdating sa ganyan (We can’t just break ties just like that. When it comes to a contract) we should respect it," she added.

The GMA executive however said that Gabby called her up to formally settle things.

“I told him na sana makahanap kami ng way para maayos na lang to (that I hope we could work things out) without escalating to something nasty," Abrogar said

NOW, let’s buckle down to work. KC really sizzled in a her bikini swimwear commercial. She is hot like the summer heat. She exudes classy sex appeal like those well-known celebrities who graced the covers of Vogue or Vanity Fair. Being too classy however might alienate her from the masa. They might think that she is hard to approach. They may not be able to relate to her.

Worry not because in her month-long anthology, “I Am KC” she was given the opportunity to work with the “masa” based talents on themes that hopefully, televiewers can identify with.

The March 29 episode entitled Binibining Palengke for instance saw the lighter side of KC— funny, wacky and kenkoy as the Gracie character she portrayed with Ai Ai delas Alas playing her mother.

The April 5 episode, Yes Sir— we will see KC opposite Luis Manzano and Albert Martinez in a light drama about relationships and the problems it presents.

We purposely will not reveal what the third episode Times Up is all about which is directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng. Suffice it to say that KC who plays an accounting student named Charm will be killed in a shoot-out. With Makisig Morales around, the fantasy element is bound to crop up.

How we look forward to see KC dance once more in the final episode Love 2 Dance. Directed by Johnny Manahan, it is about two dance partners (Pauli and Dong or Vhong Navarro) making a vow to dance forever.

Kapamilya fans of KC can also be a part of her drama anthology by joining her I Am KC, Who Am I text promo. For details please watch the four episodes.

I Am KC is the third biggest “patikim” from ABS-CBN on KC.

The last time KC wowed the audience was when she did a special surprise acrobatic number at the Sharon2K8 at Araneta Coliseum, followed by a much-praised acting appearance in Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Three years after ABS-CBN’s telecast of "Mano A Mano: Pacquiao vs. Larios" became one of the country’s highest-rated sports events ever, ABS-CBN yet again brings world-class boxing back to the Philippines with the sports special "Invasion: Philippines vs. the World", this Sunday, April 6 at 9 AM.

"Invasion" will rock the Araneta Coliseum with it's main event, in which Filipino champ Gerry Peñalosa will defend his hotly-contested WBO Bantamweight title in a 12-round fight versus Thai fighter Ratanchai Sor Vorapin.

This re-match puts at stake not just the boxing title but also lost pride: as the Thai fighter had lost via 6th round knockout to Penalosa in 2000.

Five years later, Vorapin was the world bantamweight champion before losing his title to Mexico’s Jhonny Gonzalez. Gonzalez then lost the crown to Peñalosa in August, 2007. Now, with the Filipino and Thai champions are set to slug it out for glory and country.

Produced by Golden Boy Promotions and ALA Promotions, in conjunction with ABS-CBN Sports, this boxing spectacle will be aired, nationwide and over TFC Global, live as it happens at the Araneta Coliseum.

Grudge match
The two other much-awaited matches in "Invasion" include a grudge match between the Philippines and Mexico, as our very own Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista sets out to redeem his lost prestige in a head-to-head battle against Mexico’s Genaro Camargo for the WBO InterContinental Junior Featherweight championship.

The second fight is between the Philippines rising star AJ “Bazooka” Banal and Caril Herrera of Uruguay. This is an IBF Super Flyweight eliminator bout with the winner earning the no. 1 contender ranking. Adding importance to this match is the presence of Rey Wheatly, IBF Supervisor.

Intense undercards
Even the supporting bouts promise intense excitement for fight fans, as world-class Filipino boxers test their mettle against the best that international boxing world has to offer.

"Invasion" kicks off at 9 a.m. with the Philippines’ Ciso “Kid Terrible” Morales versus Yoo Shin Kin of South Korea battling for the WBO Oriental Junior Featherweight championship.

This bout will be followed by fights between Michael “Bruce Lee” Domingo (Philippines) and Thepnimit Sor Chitpattana (Thailand); Bert “Ninja” Batawang (Philippines) and Heri Amol (Indonesia); Mark John Apolinario (Philippines) and Jessie Albaracin (Philippines); and Eric Macas against Rene Bucag, both from the Philippines.

Juan dela Cruz band reunites in concert with MPO

The country's first Pinoy rock and roll band, Juan de la Cruz will perform in a two-night concert with the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.

"Actually iyong mga kanta namin ay lalagyan ng areglo ng Manila Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), maglalapat ng areglo at sila ang mag-aakampanya sa amin at si Mr. Rodel Colmenar ang bale conductor," veteran rocker Joey “Pepe” Smith told abs-cbnnews.com after their television guesting on ABS-CBN's morning show Umagang Kay Ganda.

"We will do it with MPO and just playing stuff with the local bands," Smith added.

According to Smith their concert will be for the benefit of The John Mary Vianney Galilee Development and Retreat Center for Priests in Tagaytay City and it will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines this coming May 2 and 3 at 7 in the evening.

They will be joined by other rock bands such as The Dawn, Sugarfree, Up Dharma Down, Radioactive Sago Project and others.

The original Juan de la Cruz band members, Pepe Smith, Wally Gonzalez, and Mike Hanopol, are considered pioneers of Pinoy rock music, and still have gigs locally and abroad.

“Nag-umpisa po ang Juan dela Cruz talagang tatlo kami iyong mga nauna doon ay hinid pa official ang Juan dela Cruz noon pero noong nagasama kaming tatlo iyon na po iyon, Wally Gonzales Mike Hanopol at saka ako,” Smith said.

The band is credited for leading the very first rock and roll revolution in the country, and ushering in Pinoy Rock's golden age (1960s-1970s).

They gave Filipino audiences timeless rock classics including "Beep, Beep, Beep"; "Kagatan"; "Balong Malalim"; "Titser's Enemi No. 1" and "Himig Natin".

And when asked on what is the thing that keep the band together, Smith answered: “Masaya, maingay at marami pang ibang mga bagay, lahat naman ng banda yata masaya.

"Kaya lang noong panahon namin hindi namin akalain na kami ang magkakasama at talagang ginugol namin ang oras namin sa paggawa ngmga awit kaya masasabi ko masipag.”

Still rocking
Even with the onslaught of many rock bands in succeeding generations, music enthusiasts still refer to the works of Juan de la Cruz band.

Pepe Smith or Joseph William Smith in real life, is happy that rock bands continue to flourish in the country.

"Kumbaga ako naman ay nasisiyahan at maraming bandang bago ngayon siyempre ibang iba iyong music namin sa kanila dahil bagong panahon ngayon ako naman ay parang kumbaga dumaan din ako doon.

"Kumbaga para sa akin ay okey iyong ginagawa nila kumbaga dapat magkaroon ng bagong anyo ang musika natin hanggang sa dumating sa susunod na makabago. Hindi mo maalis iyan, iyon talaga ang gulong ng pagpapaunlad at pagbabago talagang gumugulong lahat iyan hindi lang natin masabi na baka sa ilang taon na darating ay hindi na mauso ang banda ay maging barangayan na."

Smith added that he can't predict what will happen in future of Pinoy rock music but he believes that after 10 to 20 years Pinoy rock music will still rule.

"Mahirap sabihin kung ano ang kararatnan natin pero ako ay nananlig na siguro sa darating na 10 hanggang 20 taon ay malakas pa din ang Pinoy rock depende na lang kung mapapangalagaan natin iyan dahil sariling atin iyan, Salamat po. Rock and roll!," Smith ended.

Juan dela Cruz Band has been inducted in radio NU107's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their contribution to the music industry. Definitely the band remains a benchmark and inspiration for rock bands across the country.

BREAKING NEWS: Fresh from a hugely-successful concert tour of Canada and the US, Sarah Geronimo stayed behind in LA to do the vocals for a duet with Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough in LA. The song, titled I’ll Be There and produced by Christian de Walden, will be included in Sarah’s latest CD which will be released in July. De Walden is the same guy who acted as go-between for Claire dela Fuente and Richard Carpenter for Claire to record the song Something in Your Eyes.

Howie D. reached worldwide fame as a member of the BSB along with AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter. He is best known for his falsetto singing which is easily recognizable in hits like I Want It That Way, Drowning, The Answer to Our Life, The Perfect Fan and Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.

He is the lead singer in the songs Spanish Eyes, What Makes You Different Makes You Beautiful and How Did I Fall in Love with You. He is set to visit the Philippines in July to shoot a video with Sarah and promote the duet.

Meanwhile, Sarah is coming to more honors as the big winner at the Third MYX Music Awards held at the Meralco Theater last Wednesday, March 26. The Viva recording artist won four trophies, the most by any nominee this year — Favorite Song for Ikaw, Favorite Artist, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ. Sarah accepted the awards while she was in the US.

Ikaw is a composition by Medwin Marfil of True Faith included in Sarah’s latest album Taking Flight which is composed of original works by Filipino songwriters. Other selections are I’ll Be Alright by Louie Ocampo and Edith Gallardo; Close to My Heart also by Louie with lyrics by Freddie Santos; I’m Sorry by Soc Villanueva and Jungee Marcelo; Time to Let Go featuring Mark Bautista and composed by Rebel Madagasang; I’ll Be Here also by Rebel; So and What If I, both written by Trina Belamide; Miss and Kahit Na by actor-turned-musician Chuckie Dreyfus; and Mr. Deadma by newcomer Drizzle Nuniz.

Sarah, together with fellow singing champions Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista and Mark Bautista, recently performed in the cities of Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnepeg, Toronto and Montreal in Canada; and in San Jose, Houston and Anaheim in the US.

Gabby ipa-partner kay Marian down payment ng GMA Films ibabalik ni Gabby

Saturday, April 5, 2008 Idi-deposit na lang ni Mrs. Rose Flaminiano sa account ng GMA Films ang tinanggap na down payment ni Gabby Concepcion sa nasabing film outfit ayon sa isang insider ng ABS-CBN. Iko-contest daw kasi ni Mrs. Flaminiano na hindi naman si Gabby ang bida sa nasabing movie ng GMA FIlms kundi si Jolina Magdangal eh ang usapan daw supposedly ay comeback movie ang nasabing project ni Gabby na gagamitin nilang ground para ma-delay ang project with GMA Films.

Pero ayon sa source, inaalok ni Mrs. Flaminiano si Mother Lily Monteverde ng co-production with Gabby and Marian Rivera. Ang unang tinawagan daw ay si Mother Lily since may contract sa Regal Films si Marian pero ang say daw ng Regal matriach, sa GMA 7 dapat makipag-negotiate si Mrs. Flaminiano. Supposedly, co-production venture ang Gabby-Marian movie ng Star Cinema and Regal Films para lang ma-resolve na ang issue sa pinirmahang contract ni Gabby.

Anyway, kahapon ay binigyan ng isang malaking presscon si Gabby ng mother studio niya ngayon, ang ABS-CBN. In fairness to Gabby, guwapo pa rin siya at parang maraming excited na makita siya.

Sa question and answer portion, inamin naman ni Gabby na totoong tumanggap sila ng downpayment pero nagka-problema sa script kaya hindi nag-materialize ang nasabing project with Jolina. Pero ready na siyang mag-shooting ng movie for Star Cinema though wala siyang idea kung anong project ang uunahin niya. Basta mas mauuna raw ang Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Pero binibigyan niya ng taning ang career niya sa bansa. “Merong taning ang buhay ko sa showbiz. Pero gagawin ko ang lahat,” he said sa open forum.

As much as possible din, ayaw na niyang pag-usapan sina Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion. “Hindi naman sila ang dahilan kung bakit ako nagbabalik sa showbiz. Nagkataon lang na pareho silang important part of my life.”

Dumating si Gabby noong Linggo.

At nakagawa na pala siya ng 60 blockbuster movies kasama ang mga de-kalibreng actor sa mga pelikulang katulad ng Pangako ng Puso at Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin.

Isa siya sa mga pinakasikat at paboritong leading men sa industriya na nakasabayan nila Aga Muhlach, Albert at William Martinez.

Ang original na Regal baby ay nagwagi na rin ng mga acting awards mula sa Gawad Urian para sa mga pelikulang Narito ang Puso Ko, Hahamakin Lahat at Pahiram ng Isang Umaga.

Umalis ang aktor noong 1995 sa bansa na nasa kasagsagan ng kanyang career. Namalagi sa US at nagsumikap upang maging isang matagumpay na real estate broker. Gabby nagpiyansa sa kasong bigamy

Saturday, April 5, 2008 Ilang araw matapos ang kanyang pagdating sa bansa, naglagak ng piyansa kahapon sa Manila Regional Trial court ang aktor na si Gabby Concepcion para sa kasong bigamy.

Dakong alas 4:00 ng hapon kahapon nang magtungo si Concepcion sa sala ni Judge Wilhelmina Melanio Arcega upang magpiyansa ng P12,000 para sa kasong bigamy.

Nag-ugat ang kasong bigamy nang ireklamo ni Mamerto dela Cruz si Concepcion ng pagpapakasal sa aktres na si Sharon Cuneta noong July 23, 1984 sa civil na pinagtibay naman sa Basilican Immaculada sa Intramuros, Maynila noong Setyembre 1984.

Lumilitaw sa record na nauna pang pinakasalan ni Concepcion ang isang Jennifer Martin noong June 14, 1984 sa Hitching Post Chapel, Washoe, State of Nevada.

Dumating sa bansa si Concepcion matapos ang 13 taong paninirahan sa Amerika. (Doris M. Franche)

nakapanood ako ng showbiz central ng kabila kanina...nasa 7 kase ung tv ng dentist ko...


anyway...may issue dun about sa pagcancel ng movie ni Gabby sa gme films...nagsasalita si annete gozon...sabi nya, tataka raw cia bakit nagcancel samantalang all-star cast daw, big budgeted ung movie...magaling at top artists ung mga casts like jolina magdangal..ruffa mae...mark herras :D

hahaha...nagtaka pa cia kung bakit kinancel eh ung mga pangalang binanggit nya eh andun na ung kasagutan hehee :)

ate annette...hindi kase CHEAP si Gabby! kaya babayooo!!
