Dumating kahapon, Wednesday, ang American actress na si Brianna Evigan para sa shooting ng pelikulang I Love U Virus nila ni Jericho Rosales.

Four weeks dito ang actress at sayang, dahil coming soon pa lang ang pelikula niyang Step Up 2 (Streets) na hit sa America.

Noong Monday nagsimula ang shooting ng pelikula sa Recto, Manila, at kasama sa cast ang Fil-Am actor na si Dante Basco, na nakasama rin ni Antonio Banderas sa isang dance movie.

Napanood din siya sa The Debut. May cameo role rin si Gary Valenciano as a computer nerd.

Ang Fil-Am director na si Francis dela Torre ang director ng I Love U Virus, na sobrang na-impress kay Jericho pati ang American crew nito at gusto nila itong tulungang magka-career sa Hollywood, pati na si Heart Evangelista, na nakilala nila nang dumalaw sa shooting ng boyfriend, gustong dalhin sa Hollywood.

Hindi pa namin natatanong kung dito kukunan ang buong pelikula, pero mukhang magtatagal ang shooting dito, kaya marami tayong malalamang istorya sa shooting.

Produced ang movie ng Radian Films at in-offer kay Brianna noong hindi pa siya masyadong sikat.

Kung gusto ninyong makita ang hitsura niya, tingnan n’yo na lang ang poster at billboards ng Step Up 2.

Nag-apologize na si Lani Mercado sa issue ng isnaban at dedmahan nila ni Ruffa Gutierrez na ngayon ay lumaki na nang lumaki ang issue at ang pinagsasabong na ay sina ‘Nay Lolit Solis and Tita Annabelle Rama.

Say ni Lani bago ito umalis papuntang Amerika the other night nang mahagip ito ng mga reporter sa airport, nanghihingi na siya ng pasensiya at sinabi niyang kung may ganun mang nangyari ay hindi intentional. At nag-promise siya na oras na makita niya si Ruffa, siya na ang unang babati.

Oh ayan, siguro naman enough na yun para matapos na ang issue sa pagitan nila ‘Nay Lolit at Tita Annabelle.

Malalim ang kanilang pinagsamahan bilang magkaibigan at sooner or later, magkikita at magbabatian din sila. Kaya sana naman, matapos na ang issue.

Buti na lang at super-bantay ang security personnel ng Araneta Coliseum sa audience kung hindi, palagay ko hindi masusulit ang bayad ng nasa patron ng concert ng Maroon 5 the other night.

Eh kasi ba naman, naging habit na yata ng maraming concertgoers na once na mag-start ang con*cert particularly ng international artist, nagtatayuan na sila sa chair. Promise, pag-start pa lang, ayun nagsasampahan na sa chair na supposedly ay upuan lang.

Kaya ang tendency, yung nasa bandang huli ng Patron section, ayun wala nang makita. Hindi naman lahat, gustong manood na nakatayo sa chair.

Sa concert ng Maroon 5, hindi umubra ang mga bagets na nagtayuan pag-start ng concert. Nilalapitan sila isa-isa ng security personnel ng Araneta para pababain sa upuan. Wa rin epek yung mga nagtatakbuhan sa unahan dahil pinababalik sila sa kani-kanilang upuan.

Anyway, mayayaman ang market ng Maroon 5. Yung mga Ingliserang kolehiya na mga mukhang nagpa-parlor pa bago nanood ng concert ang majority sa nanood.

Kung sabagay, hindi naman sila makaka-afford na bumili ng ticket dahil almost P10,000 ang ticket prize sa patron. ‘Yung isa ko ngang friend, Lynette she bought 2 tickets almost P20,000 ha. Pero hindi pa sila sa front row.

Kung sabagay, minsan lang kasi magko-concert sa bansa ang Maroon 5 at sikat pa sila sa international scene kaya siguradong mahal din ang talent fee nila. Kaya naman jampacked ang Araneta.

Ang dami ring nanood na artista. Si MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, nakita namin dun. Hmmm, naka-relate kaya si Chairman Bayani kasama ang wife niyang mayor sa pop/rock music ng Maroon 5?

Of course, kinanta nila lahat ang mga hit songs nila like Won’t Go Home Without You, Makes Me Wonder, Wake Up Call, Harder To Breathe, Sunday Mornings, This Love, Makes Me Wonder among others.

Actually, medyo nabitin kami kasi almost an hour lang ang concert. After almost 10 songs, nag-thank you na ang grupo. Pero walang gustong umalis sa audience. As in sigaw sila nang sigaw ng more kaya walang choice ang grupo kundi bumalik lalo na nga’t hindi pa nila nakakanta ang She Will Be Loved na isa sa marami nilang hit songs.

Actually, ganito rin lang kahaba ang concert ng Pussycat Doll noon.

After Maroon 5, si Madonna at Justin Timberlake ang darating sa bansa para mag-concert. Pero mas mauuna si Mandy Moore sa March 12 sa Eastwood Libis.

Sayang si Celine Dion. Magko-concert siya sa Macau. Sana dumiretso siya sa Pilipinas. Usually, nagsa-sidetrip ang mga foreign artist sa bansa pag may schedule silang concert sa kalapit bansa natin.

Totoo ba ang kumakalat na bulung-bulungan sa industriya ng musika na di umano’y may isang vocalist at front-man ng isang sikat na banda ang nagpa-planong gumawa ng isang paglipat? Iba na raw ang kanilang trip. Ang nakakapagtaka, matagal nang sikat ang bandang ito. Sa katunayan, hit na hit nga ang mga kanta nila. So ano naman itong naririnig naming gusto niyang sumubok ng bago?

May kinalaman kaya ang kanyang paglipat upang sumunod din sa trip na ito ang mga miyembro ng iba pang mga sikat na banda? Lahat sila’y napapabalitang may susubukang kakaiba.

Nakita raw umano ang mga tinutukoy na band members na magkakasama habang nag-eensayo ng isang kanta. Kaya mukhang totoo na nga ang mga bali-balita. Sinu-sino kaya ang mga ito? Ano kaya ang kanyang mga dahilan? Saan hahantong ang usap-usapang maglilipatan na sila? Ito na kaya ang simula ng malaking pagbabago?

Wala namang masama sa pagiging bukas sa mga bagong ideya at karanasan basta’t para ito sa mas magandang himig at musika. Tutukan na lang natin kung ano itong usap-usapang lipatan. Siguradong kating-kati na kayong malaman kung sinu-sino sila. Malapit na silang pangalanan. Abangan!

Comedy ang role ng singer-actor bilang computer nerd, pero na-impress pa rin niya ang Fil-Am director na si Francis dela Torre at ang American crew. Perfect daw ang timing at blocking ni Gary at walang take two sa kanyang mga eksena.

Sa tuwa ng director, gustong isama pabalik sa Los Angeles si Gary at nagpaalam na sila kay Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano na isasama ang asawa nito sa Amerika.

Bukod kina Jericho, Brianna at Gary, nasa cast din ng movie ang Fil-Am actor na si Dante Basco na magaling sa The Debut at nakasama ni Antonio Banderas sa isang dance movie na nakalimutan ko ang title.

Four weeks magsu-shooting dito si Brianna at sana, nandito pa siya ‘pag nag-showing ang movie niyang Step Up 2 (Streets) para personal niyang mai-promote.

Wow. Both Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion, who are said to be currently dating, are open to do a movie together. And in separate interviews, they said that while people will surely enjoy their tandem, they know it can lead to bigger things, like the end of the network wars. Honestly, I don’t know how to react to this. I’m just happy that both have the best intentions in their mind when they said this (It’s obvious that they themselves have spoken about it because why the same statement?) but it will take more than a movie to end the so-called network wars. In fact, I don’t think there’ll be an end to this. Both networks will surely try to topple one another by producing more shows they think would rake in the ratings, sign up more people to be exclusive to their networks and one single movie won’t end this. It’s a healthy competition actually, this network wars. It’s weird that an executive from the other network said that they already sent feelers to Star Cinema for the fruition of this project. Isn’t she from the same network that would fuel the wars by announcing they are number one by just a few points and only in one or a few areas in the country but trumpeting it as if the Philippines is debt-free from the IMF? Give the NATIONWIDE ratings and we’ll know who’s really the number one network….

Again, I know that Richard and KC have the best intentions in mind. I’m so happy actually that they are after that and are even open to working in a co-production of the two networks. But again, it would take more than a movie to end the war…. Pero aaminin ko, being a fan of both stars, ako ang unang manonood if that movie pushes through hehehe

Diether Ocampo is a good friend. That’s what Gaby dela Merced and I agree with.

I’ve known Diether for a longtime now. Sa sobrang tagal, medyo may alam na ako sa mga babaeng pinormahan niya. And I would notice a pattern (this was of course, before Kristine Hermosa). Pag may babaeng may itsura at medyo sosyalin, go go go si Diether.



So I won’t be surprised if he really went out with Gaby dela Merced. To which, the former Celebrity Edition housemate finally admitted that they became and are close. Nung una, halos hindi siya makasagot when we asked her about Diether Ocampo. “Huh…Uhm…I wouldn’t….Ano…” were her words. “We’re friends now,” pahabol pa niya.



Pero at least Gaby was honest enough to say na of all the guys linked to her, kay Diether daw talaga siya close ngayon. Na until now they still constantly communicate and in fact, Gaby is one of the staunch supporters of Diether’s charity foundation, K.I.D.S.



Anyway, Gaby is now busy hosting Gaby’s Extraordinary Files. The show features extraordinary facts and interesting features on science, history, travel, culture, technology and many more. The show stars airing extraordinary vignettes on March 9.

Masaya palang kausap itong si Irish Fullerton.

Besides being very beautiful, she is very charming. She smiles coyly everytime you ask her something, whether what her favourite color is or what’s her take on the issue of Jay-R Siaboc “committing suicide” because she broke up with him.



To that, she says that she and Jay-R are just friends. Nothing more, nothing less. “He’s a very good friend and I consider him one of my closest here in the Philippines,” says Irish.



Irish is a little ticked off with all the rumours that hounded her and the rest of the Pinoy Dream Academy scholars about getting drunk in the United States. Kim Chiu got a shock when she discovered that she had landed the lead role in the local version of the hit Koreanovela My Girl during the Dream Big Kapamilya press con. It was the first time that the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Big Winner learned about her new project and she even cried upon hearing the good news. “Ang saya, ang saya!” she said while wiping away the tears. “Nagjo-joke ba kayo?”

ABS-CBN has secured the franchise of the said drama from SBS Korea and has pegged Kim to play the main character, Jasmin. “Sobrang thank you po sa lahat. Thank you po sa fans, sa ABS-CBN…it’s another wish granted,” Kim said, clapping her hands giddily. Though her leading man for the teleserye has yet to be cast, the young star hopes that her ka-love team Gerald Anderson would get the part. “Siyempre po gusto ko siya. Tsaka ma-sasad po ang mga Kimerald,” referring to their tandem’s avid followers. “Super love nila kaming dalawa, kaya di nga po namin alam kung paano sila masusuklian.” Is she sure the fans are the only reason why she picked Gerald? Kim could only giggle in answer to this pressing question from the reporters.

Coincidentally, Gerald’s birthday fell on the same day as the press con (March 7) so reporters pressed Kim into revealing what she got him. “Wakeboard po,” Kim confessed adding, “Pero nabili ko po ng may discount!” when the press teased that only girlfriends would give expensive gifts to their boyfriends.

In fact, she will be even present during the PBB Teen Edition Plus launch on the 23rd. “Lahat ng tao may chance sa buhay, ako po din nabigyan ng chance. Kanya kanyang chance po naman.” Kim only advises the new housemates to stay true to themselves once they enter the house. “Maging totoo po sila, maging natural lang at mamahalin na sila ng tao.”

Anyway, he admitted na while he doesn’t know what exactly is going on between Zanjoe and Mariel, medyo hurt si Boy about how Zanjoe is so non-committal and silent about their relationship. Boy is bothered by the silence of Zanjoe and how he would be evasive about his relationship with Mariel.

FIRST READ ON PEP: Cristine Reyes bent on transferring to ABS-CBN

Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainmen Portal) si Cristine Reyes sa contract signing niya as the celebrity endorser ng Fiona slippers na ginawa sa Dulcinea kahapon, March 6. Two years ang pinirmahang kontrata ng young actress at kahit walang TV commercial, magkakaroon siya ng billboards at print ad.

Tinanong siya ng PEP kung Kapamilya na o Kapuso pa rin siya. Hindi pa rin kasi malinaw ngayon kung ano ang balak ni Cristine pagkatapos mag-expire ng kontrata niya sa Artist Center ng GMA-7.

"Honestly, hindi ko pa masabi kung Kapamilya na ako o Kapuso pa rin. May inaayos pa. Hinihintay ko ang release papers. Basta, ang alam ko, wala na akong contract sa GMA-7. Pero sabi nila, hindi ako puwedeng umalis," lahad ni Cristine.

Puwede na ba siyang lumipat ng network?

"Kung gugustuhin ko, puwede na," sagot ni Cristine. "Kaya lang, gusto ko maayos ang lahat. Ayokong may magalit sa akin, ayokong magalit sa akin ang Channel 7. Naiipit ako talaga at hindi ko alam kung sino ang susundin."

Inamin ni Cristine na hindi na siya nagpapaalam ‘pag nagge-guest sa mga show ng ABS-CBN, gaya sa Wowowee at ASAP, dahil hindi siya papayagan. Hindi nga siya pinayagang mag-guest sa ASAP last Sunday, March 2, kaya lang ay nakapag-commit na siya at big promo nila ng kapatid niyang si Ara Mina para sa pelikula nilang Ate.

Tiningnan daw ng lawyer ni Cristine ang kontrata niya sa GMA Artist Center at nakitang hindi renewal kundi new contract ang kailangan niyang pirmahan. Kung ayaw niyang pumirma ng panibagong kontrata, puwede na raw siyang umalis.

Paano kung kasuhan siya ng kanyang home studio?

"Well, hindi ko alam," aniya. "Pero sana maayos sa magandang usapan. Kaya kami nakikipag-usap at ‘yon din ang dahilan kung bakit hindi ko pa masagot kung Kapuso pa ako o Kapamilya na. Kung saan may trabaho, doon ako. Kung madedemanda man, wala tayong magagawa dahil may network war."

FIRM ON HER DECISION. Nagulat si Cristine sa nasulat na nagkaroon na ng storycon for Eva Fonda, 16 ang ABS-CBN dahil wala pang storycon na naganap. Pati raw si Ms. Wilma Galvante ng GMA-7 ay nagtanong sa storycon na wala naman. Hindi pa makapag-commit ang young actress dahil nga hindi pa maayos ang usapan nila with GMA-7.

Ang Eva Fonda, 16 ay TV remake ng pelikulang pinagbidahan ni Alma Moreno noong 1976.

"In-offer sa akin ang project, kinausap ako ng ABS-CBN at happy ako," pag-amin ni Cristine. "Nahihiya nga ako dahil naghihintay sila sa akin at puwede silang kumuha ng ibang artista ‘pag nagsawa sila sa paghihintay sa akin."

Paano kung nag-offer ng new contract ang GMA-7?

"Depende kung anong offer at kung anong maganda," sagot niya. "Kung talagang gusto nila ako, dapat bigyan ako ng show na maganda at hindi puro support. Hindi ako nagde-demand, kung anong i-offer, nakikinig na lang ako. Kung wala silang ibigay na show, frozen delight ako," biro ni Cristine.

Lately, ang lawyer na lang ni Cristine ang nakikipag-usap sa management ng GMA-7. Pinayuhan daw siyang huwag munang makipag-usap dahil bata pa siya at madaling ma-manipulate at mapa-oo.

Paano kung mangyari sa kanya ang nangyari kay Regine Velasquez na nag-stay rin as Kapuso?

"Ako, buo na ang loob ko at kung ano ang gusto ko, yun ang susundin ko. Ang tagal ko nang naghihintay ng project sa GMA, four years na ako sa kanila. Ako pa nga ang nagtatanong kung ano ang plano nila sa akin. Wala silang maisagot, wala akong project. Alam nilang may offer ako sa ABS at saka sila nag-offer nang malamang aalis ako.

"Feeling ko, lagi na lang akong support. Sa ABS, lead ang offer. Ayoko na lang magsalita at doon na lang ako sa mas magandang offer at mas naa-appreciate ako. Hindi rin naman ako biglang lilipat nang walang pasabi," prangkang pahayag ng StarStruck Avenger.

TOO LATE. Paano kung bigyan siya ng malaki at magandang project gaya ng Eva Fonda, 16?
"Parang too late na," sabi ni Cristine. "Kung alaga talaga nila ako, gaya ng lagi nilang sinasabi, ba't ngayon lang ako bibigyan ng project? Four years ako sa kanila at wala akong show na sarili. Enjoy ako sa ABS, parang special ako doon."

May mga sumisimangot ba sa kanyang talents ng ABS-CBN?

"Deadma ako sa kanila at secret kung sino sila. Wala na lang clue. Ganun naman sa showbiz. ‘Pag newcomer ka, susupladahan ka at naiintindihan ko ‘yon. Sana nga maayos na ang lahat ng ito. Trabaho lang naman ang gusto ko," sabi ni Cristine.

Bukas, March 8, guest uli sa Wowowee si Cristine at sabi'y simula na ito ng pagiging permanent co-host niya ni Willie Revillame. Sa interview ng PEP, sinabi ni Cristine na hindi siya pinapayagan ng ABS-CBN na tumanggap ng permanent show kahit Wowowee, dahil nga inihahanda siya sa Eva Fonda, 16.

Tingnan pa rin natin ang mga susunod na mangyayari at kung maghahabol ang GMA-7 at kung magkakaroon na ng permanent show si Cristine, na ipinaglalaban nilang naka-kontrata pa sa kanila.

QC-RTC denies GMA Network’s application for preliminary injunction


The regional trial court denied GMA Network’s application for a preliminary injunction which would have prevented ABS-CBN from broadcasting defamatory reports that GMA Network manipulated AGB television ratings.

The order was given by Judge Alexander Balut.

Balut is the third judge to preside over the case.

ABS-CBN had the two judges who earlier handled the case inhibit themselves.

Current Judge Balut allowed what the previous judge found irrelevant -- and that was to allow more testimonies from other ABS CBN informants.

In the hearing before judge Balut, these ABS-CBN informants admitted they had no proof of employment with GMA, no ID, no contracts.

In his order, Judge Balut said a preliminary injunction would interfere with ABS-CBN’s freedom of expression.

Reacting to the court’s ruling, GMA Network legal counsel Gener Asuncion said, “Freedom of expression does not mean they (ABS-CBN) have the right to destroy another’s reputation. An abuse of a freedom also destroys it.”

Nevertheless, Judge Balut’s order also warned ABS-CBN from using “free expression as an instrument to perpetrate unlawful ends to the obstruction of the administration of justice.”

“This is not the end of the libel suit. ABS-CBN wanted the end of the TRO and they wanted to block the injunction because ABS-CBN wanted to continue attacking the reputation of GMA Network. We will try not to let them do this,” Asuncion said.

Court junks GMA-7 petition vs ABS-CBN on ratings scam reports


The Quezon City Regional Trial Court threw out a petition filed by GMA-7 which sought to stop ABS-CBN from airing reports about the alleged TV ratings manipulation scandal that purpotedly cast "dishonor, discredit and disrepute" to the former.

Judge Alexander Balut in his ruling denied GMA-7's petition for preliminary injunction on three grounds:

1) GMA-7's petition to stop ABS-CBN's supposedly libelous reports comes too late--the reports have already been aired;

2) GMA-7's petition for injunction goes beyond the prayer contained in its complaint; and

3) GMA-7's petition for injunction constitutes prior restraint of freedom of expression and, therefore, unconstitutional.

Judge Balut in his ruling said that since ABS-CBN had already aired its reports, there is nothing for the court to stop. "It is clear that plaintiff’s causes of action are based on acts that were already consummated. Having already been committed, these acts can no longer be enjoined. Simply stated, there is actually nothing to enjoin," wrote the judge.

The judge also ruled that it "appears" as though GMA-7 "seeks to enjoin acts beyond the prayer in the complaint", adding that "[this] cannot be done. It is anathema to an existing jurisprudence on the matter."

Unconstitutional

Finally, the judge said that the court cannot grant the petition for preliminary injunction because doing so would violate the Constitutional guarantee of freedom of expression.

"To issue the writ of preliminary injunction in this case would be to impermissibly interfere defendants' freedom of expression. It would be constitutive of a previous restraint or censorship, which no less than the Constitution abhors," the judge ruled.

Balut also said that GMA-7 failed to lay down enough justifiable grounds to warrant prior restraint of ABS-CBN's reports.

"Applying one of the tests, i.e., The Clear and Present Danger Rule, the Court finds that plaintiff failed to lay down factual bases constituting a clear and present danger that would justify prior restraint. In fact, the bone of contention is purely civil in nature, such that the "substantive evil" which the State has the ultimate right to prevent is wanting."

The judge also wrote in his decision that GMA-7 may still avail of other legal remedies outside of a preliminary injunction (filing libel cases, etc.,) if it feels that it has been wronged by past or future reports aired by ABS-CBN:

"If it believed defendants' acts are contemptuous or obstructive of a free and fair hearing on the case, plaintiff has other remedies provided under the Rules of Court."

However, Judge Balut also warned ABS-CBN not to abuse the right to free expression, either to destroy GMA-7's reputation or influence the outcome of cases being heard in court:

"Needless to state, pending the trial of this case on its merits, free expression must not be used as an instrument to perpetrate unlawful ends to the obstruction of the administration of justice."

In its petition to the court, GMA-7 claimed that ABS-CBN tailored its news reports on the TV ratings manipulation scandal to portray the former as "a fraudster and manipulator of the ratings in Bacolod City by deliberately twisting and distorting the statement of Ms. Reformina, the general manager of AGB Nielsen..."

GMA-7 further complained that ABS-CBN's reports on the scandal were "orchestrated and/or scripted and intentionally perpetrated to defame, impeach and besmirch the reputation of plaintiff GMA 7".

Inhibitions

Judge Balut is the third judge to hear the P15-million libel case filed by GMA-7 against ABS-CBN. The first judge, Judge Samuel Gaerlan, inhibited himself following a motion for his inhibition by ABS-CBN. Gaerlan had earlier admitted that a member of ABS-CBN's legal department is his cousin.

The second judge to hear the case, Judge Henri Jean Paul Inting, also inhibited himself following a motion filed by ABS-CBN.

Inting had earlier granted a petition for a temporary restraining order filed by GMA-7 against ABS-CBN's airing of reports related to the TV ratings controversy.

ABS-CBN then filed a petition for certiorari before the Court of Appeals to stop the implementation of the TRO. ABS-CBN maintained that "the issue of corruption as brought out by the discovery of the TV ratings manipulation is a matter of clear public interest, and therefore needs to be reported on."

The network also deplored the fact that the TRO "grants GMA Network a virtual immunity from accusation. No person or entity has ever enjoyed such a privilege, not even the highest public officers of the land.

In his order for inhibition, Inting said that he is following "the Supreme Court ruling that at the very first sign of lack of faith and trust in his actions, whether well-grounded or not, the judge has no other alternative but to inhibit himself from the case."

"Not the end"

GMA-7 in an official statement said that the libel case against ABS-CBN will continue despite Balut's denial of its petition. The statement noted that Balut based his ruling partly on evidence that Inting had earlier dismissed.

"Current Judge Balut allowed what the previous judge found irrelevant - and that was to allow more testimonies from other ABS-CBN informants. In the hearing before Judge Balut, these ABS-CBN informants admitted they had no proof of employment with GMA, NO ID, no contracts."

In the statement GMA-7 said that it would continue efforts to stop ABS-CBN from airing its reports. "This is not the end of the libel suit. Court junks GMA-7 petition vs ABS-CBN on ratings scam reports

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court threw out a petition filed by GMA-7 which sought to stop ABS-CBN from airing reports about the alleged TV ratings manipulation scandal that purpotedly cast "dishonor, discredit and disrepute" to the former. Judge Alexander Balut in his ruling denied GMA-7's petition for preliminary injunction on three grounds:

1) GMA-7's petition to stop ABS-CBN's supposedly libelous reports comes too late--the reports have already been aired;

2) GMA-7's petition for injunction goes beyond the prayer contained in its complaint; and

3) GMA-7's petition for injunction constitutes prior restraint of freedom of expression and, therefore, unconstitutional.

Who will be the next young star to become a first-time mom?

Well, one is Camille Prats, who is now mom to a baby boy named Nathan. If others still do not know, Camille got married to the baby’s father, Anthony Linsangan, before giving birth to her son.

"It was a simple wedding," said Camille of the event. "There were about 40 guests lang."

Since Camille gave birth in the US, her parents Dondi and Alma, and brother John, had to fly to the US.

Come to think of it, John is older than Camille. So we’re asking now when John will become a parent, too?

And will he choose to have young star Shaina Magdayao to be his future wife and mother of his kids?

John and Shaina are said to be currently singing beautiful music together.

Camille Prats back in Manila with newborn son

Actress and new mom Camille Prats is back in the country with her six-week-old baby boy, Nathaniel Lucas Linsangan, who was born last January 25 in California.

According to Prats, she decided to return to the Philippines to hopefully revive her showbiz career and even put up a pre-school this coming school year. She said her baby will be christened right after Holy Week.

The actress is also planning to have a church wedding this year with husband, Anthony Linsangan. The two had a civil wedding in Los Angeles.

Linsangan said he allowed Prats to return to showbiz as long as she does not do sexy roles.

Sheena Patricia Camille Quiambao Prats or Camille Prats is a former child star and the sister of actor and dancer John Prats.

The actress started her showbiz career in 1990 when she joined "Little Miss Philippines" of variety show "Eat Bulaga." She later became a regular cast of ABS-CBN's "Ang TV."

Prats catapulted into fame when she topbilled the movie "Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa."

Christine admits snagChristine Reyes is the new endorser of Fiona Footwear. She signed a two-year contract with Hoc Yan International Trading Co. Ltd. yesterday as dealed by elder sister Ara Mina. She added it’s a lawyer-to-lawyer thing now, settling for an amicable settlement with GMA if possible. This also confirms that ABS-CBN is avoiding another court case as reported in the same report. Since she cannot sign up, the television remake of “Eva Fonda, 16” which she is supposed to star in had been shelved for the time being. She clarified there was no story conference for the show as published in a tab.

BOY Abunda had a solo presscon for his new show on Cinema One, “Inside the Cinema”, to be shown every second Tuesday of the month.

This offers thorough, in-depth interview with his subject who can be a movie star, a director, or someone who has been working behind the scenes for a long time and has a wealth of experience to share with viewers. The first interviewee is Chanda Romero and this is set in Cebu, where Chanda grew up. Chanda gained fame and respectability when she did “Mananayaw” with the late Lino Brocka. After that, Lino refused to work with her again.

Find out the reason for the first time in this tell-all interview. Next subjects are Joel Torre (who reveals how Director Celso Ad. Sandara Park to Star in Gumy's New Music Video

Korean-Filipina entertainer Sandara Park will make her debut in Korea by appearing in a music video.

Sandara Park, who moved to the Philippines with her family in 1995, made her debut in 2004 when she entered the 'Star Circle Quest,' an open audition program on the local TV network ABS-CBN. She went on to make small and big screen appearances in the Southeast Asian country and soon became an idol star.

Park, who returned to Korea last year, has been getting acting lessons at YG Entertainment. She will star in the music video of Gumy's brand new song 'I'm Sorry,' the title track of her fourth studio album entitled 'Comfort.' It will be Gumy's first studio album in three years.

Word is out that Park will appear in the music video as the lover of sensationally popular Big Bang member T.O.P.

An official at YG Entertainment said Sandara Park will make her acting debut in Korea by starring in the much anticipated music video. He added that Park has also been cast in a new TV drama which will be launched in May.

Oscar Lopez, three Pinoys in Forbes 'Heroes of Philanthropy'

Four Filipino businessmen have been included in the list of Asia's "Heroes of Philanthropy" by the business magazine Forbes Asia in its latest issue, ABS-CBN News reported Thursday.

The four Filipinos in the list are Lopez Group of Companies' Oscar Lopez, Phinma Group's Ramon Del Rosario, Ayala Corporation's Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Summit Holdings' John Gokongwei Jr.

The four Filipinos are part of a pioneering list of 48 Asians cited in the magazine's March 10 issue for their acts of charity - four each from 12 countries in the continent.

"Great fortunes are being made in Asia, and those fortunes are increasingly earmarked for philanthropy," Forbes, in their special report, said.

Forbes also said that the list "aimed to identify not only some of the largest donors but also some of the most interesting--generous folks who may not make one of our rich lists but who put a hefty share of their money into much-needed, and sometimes unusual, projects."

Microfinance, education, environment and culture
The four Filipinos included in the list are patrons of a diverse list of advocacies.

Del Rosario was cited as a "longtime patron of De La Salle schools" and for "launching a campaign for the Philippine Business for Social Progress to raise $25 million for the Pinoy Micro-Enterprise Social Investment Fund, which aims to help microfinance institutions to extend loans to poorer customers."

Zobel de Ayala, who sits as co-chairman of the Ayala Foundation, was cited for helping improve the education sector, as well as the foundation's involvement in "developing young leaders, boosting environmental protection, increasing access to technology, and supporting arts and culture."

Forbes said Zobel de Ayala "argues that businesses must work aggressively to solve the country's immense problems of poverty."

Gokongwei was cited for giving half of his shares in JG Summit Holdings to the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation back in August 2006, during his 80th birthday. The donation, worth $200 million then, is "the [Philippines'] largest ever" and is now funding scholarships for Filipino students to study Chinese language and culture in China.

Lopez 'surprised' by citation
Lopez said he was "quite surprised" by the citation.

"I was quite surprised myself. I don't think I really deserve the praise that [was] given me. But I represent a family that's trying to do it's share of corporate responsibility work," Lopez said.

Lopez, meanwhile, was cited for donating 37 acres of the Lopez family land in Iloilo to fishermen affected by the Guimaras oil spill, where the Lopez Group Foundation is setting up a cooperative farming venture to help the former fishermen become farmers.

"This would be just a sample of what we can do to help on other areas that may need our help along these lines. I'm willing to donate... more land," he said.

Lopez was also cited by Forbes for starting First Philippine Conservation in 1999, which works to protect the country's largest remaining block of old-growth rain forest in Luzon's Sierra Madre.

Recently, Lopez also raised P25 million to build a lecture hall for around 700 cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in Baguio City.

And at age 77, Lopez said he wants to help more people.

Forbes said they hope that "by spotlighting these 48 and their achievements, we'll encourage even more giving."

Christine admits snag
Christine Reyes is the new endorser of Fiona Footwear. She signed a two-year contract with Hoc Yan International Trading Co. Ltd. yesterday as dealed by elder sister Ara Mina. This gave “BuzzBox” the chance to clear up with her the ABS-CBN transfer issue. She admitted the details as earlier published in this column. She added it’s a lawyer-to-lawyer thing now, settling for an amicable settlement with GMA if possible. This also confirms that ABS-CBN is avoiding another court case as reported in the same report. Since she cannot sign up, the television remake of “Eva Fonda, 16” which she is supposed to star in had been shelved for the time being. She clarified there was no story conference for the show as published in a tab.

AMINADO si Valerie Concepcion na second choice nga lang siya bilang leading lady ni Vhong Navarro sa pelikulang Supah Papalicious. Pero, hindi raw si Toni Gonzaga ang pinalitan niya kungdi si Kris Aquino. Hindi raw kasi umubra ang sked ni Kris sa shooting na movie kaya hindi ito natuloy. At any rate, puro papuri lang ang natanggap ni Valerie mula sa cast and crew ng movie, dahil napaka-game daw niya at walang kaarte-arte sa katawan. Wala raw siyang pakialam kahit ma-deglamorized sa screen, nangingibabaw lagi ang kanyang professionalism.

Never daw inioper kay Valerie ng ABS-CBN ang Betty La Fea. Ang bagong programa niya sa Dos ay ang gag show na Banana Split kung saan kasama niya sina Kristine Hermosa, Anne Curtis at iba pa.

Tuwing Linggo raw ito ipapalabas kaya hindi sila katapat ng Bubble Gang ng pinanggalingang istasyon. Ayaw din daw niyang kalabanin ang Bubble Gang dahil institution na ito at dati rin siyang nagi-guest dito nang nasa GMA pa siya.
