He may be the respected King of Talk but Boy Abunda admitted that like any other human being, he has fears and insecurities. He disclosed that he is scared of revealing himself.

"I’ve been emotionally naked a lot of times, and I didn’t like it," the famous host revealed.

He earned his being the unprecedented celebrated talk-show host of his generation. And yet he remains humble. But even this accomplishment is insufficient to let off his guard.

"To display so much nakedness of emotions, may takot talaga ako."

Tito Boy’s success is a result of hard work. As he puts it, he started from having nothing at all. Yet he was so driven that he got to where he is today. Up to the present, Tito Boy still has that same intensity that makes him want to excel in everything that he does.

"It’s a lot of struggle, though. Hindi madali. It was never easy. Kung nasaan man ako ngayon, OK na ko. But from where I am now, I want to move (forward)," he shared.

For him, it is most dangerous when a person moves back, doing certain actions to ruin his life instead of working his way up.

Growing up as gay in a conservative environment, Tito Boy had to endure a lot. As a child, Tito Boy’s intelligence has been viewed as his saving grace for his being gay.

"Without me knowing it, I was auditioning to be the best (in whatever I do). Parating tinatawaran ang kakayahan ko," he admitted. "All my life laging binibigyan ng paliwanag ang pagiging ako," referring to his sexual preference.

Looking back, that "flaw" is Tito Boy’s greatest accolade. For without it, he will never be that highly respected showbiz personality that he is today.

"My being gay I treasure the most. I’m proud to be gay," he declared.

He recently came out with an album titled "Love Life! Life Songs and Life Stories with Boy Abunda," which contains 10 popular and optimistic songs revived by famous singers such as Martin Nievera (Now And Forever), Kris Lawrence (Tears In Heaven), Charice Pempengco (Song For Mama), Erik Santos (It’s My Turn), Ogie Alcasid (You Changed My Life In A Moment) and more. It also contains inspiring and interesting conversations of Tito Boy with people that he loves, such as celebrities and his own mother.

alam mo ba nakakainis yung iba kasi akala talaga nila abs ang namimigay ng grocery sabi ba naman nung isa "kung ako ang bibigyan ng abs ng grocery tatanggapin ko ah bakita parehas lang naman din ang palabas basta nakakanood ka" tapos yung isa inis na inis kasi daw nagpapatugtog sya (eh sa GMA ata yung radio station na yun) lagi na lang daw may commercial tungkol dun sa ratings na un hehhe nababaliktad tuloy ang ABS

why such a pin so say that GMA-7 is number? never in history that GMA-7 is number1…

therefore… GMA-7 cheats the public when they require all kapuso fans to wear a pin stating that they are number 1…

how foolish we are coz we allowed ourselves to be fooled by this network so hungry of fame and glory…

but please think the facts and inconsistency of GMA-7
1. their talents could hardly be hired to endorse products and advertisements
> 98% of endorsers are ABS-CBN talents. ask unilever and Procter and Gamble

2. their talents could hardly make a block buster movie…
> ABS-CBN Star Cinema have a movie in every 2 months last year… all of them breaks beyond 120 Million
> GMA-7 has only richard g. as money maker…what about the others.

3. SOP vs ASAP
> SOP talents could hardly have an Araneta concert, gold records or even an album
> ABS-SBN’s ASAP are dominated by talents who are booked for concerts, multi platinum records and even albums after album…

4. In PSMExPhilippines Stock Market Exhange)
> ABS-CBN is top gainer (top 1 in media category)
> GMA-7 belong in the top ten lossers!…

They claim to be the number 1: number 1 in metro manila where panel homes are located to households affected by lowband frequency of ABS-CBN Chanel 2.

Please explain to me… why in metro manila, metro cebu, metro davao and other megacities in north and south…. ABS-CBN is strongly favored by this social strata
1. Woking Class ( CLass C)
2. Middle Class ( CLass B)
3. ELitest ( Class A)

Does it mean that GMA-7 is very strong and getting stronger to CLass D and E? A group who are waiting for the superheroes to feed them 3x a day, a magician that will give them money….and thalia as well as marimar to rpovide them a job..

That is why they stick with fantaserye:
1. a show that does not need a refined actors and actresses.
2. a show that must be extended and stretched to the max is the rating is high (hahaha)…just like marimar…it may extend until may2008.
3. a kind of show that does not need a good screenplay.
4. a kind of show that things are superficial and detached to personal emotions..
(anyway, there is no need for a show like heavy drama…because the target audience are hungry and suffering from delirium)
5. a show that let people magtiis to watch day and night…para naman ma-maintain ang rating…. kasi jobless, can afford to stay in front of TV sets (not cabled)

And fortunately the PANA ( Philippine Advertizers National Association) is convinced that AGB-Rating is manipulated and tampered and the 400 panel homes do not reflect the 12Million people of mega manila.

If you are kapuso…then you chose to be a foolish one! Congratz!

QC RTC stops ABS-CBN from presenting new witnesses

THE Quezon City Regional Trial Court barred ABS-CBN from presenting three more witnesses in the petition for a temporary restraining order (TRO) filed by GMA Network.

GMA Network filed a petition for TRO asking the court to stop ABS-CBN from airing statements over its various TV and radio programs that depict GMA as responsible for manipulating the TV ratings in Bacolod, Cebu, Davao and Iloilo.

QC-RTC Branch 95 presiding judge Henri Jean Paul Inting stopped ABS-CBN from presenting additional witnesses, saying that the court is now ready to resolve the case based on the testimony of ABS-CBN’s lone witness presented during past hearings as well as the pleadings submitted in court by both GMA and ABS-CBN.

Inting rejected ABS-CBN’s plan to present new witnesses and said, “It’s (the case) getting out of hand.”

ABS-CBN legal counsel Regis Puno said in a TV news interview that they should be allowed to present new witnesses. “The principal arguments here are legal in nature, particularly whether you can restrain legitimate news reporting,” Puno said.

GMA Network legal counsel Gener Asuncion, however, said that the issue should be resolved in court and not through trial by publicity.

“What is before the court is only a motion for a TRO. It is a motion to stop them (ABS-CBN) from airing because the case is already in court. The court is hearing or will hear the parties and their witnesses so there should be no airing for them (ABS-CBN) anymore on TV,” Asuncion said.

GMA Network also submitted a second motion asking the court to immediately resolve the motion for the TRO and preliminary injunction.

Attached in its new motion are transcripts of ABS-CBN shows wherein it continues to report in its various TV programs the issue on the alleged manipulation of TV ratings despite the fact that the case for damages filed by GMA Network against ABS-CBN is already in court.

GMA Network Vice President for Legal *** Perez said that press freedom is not the issue.

“ABS-CBN is a party litigant in this case and therefore it should not be allowed to use its media facilities for its own end like bringing its case before the public. You can’t present your witnesses on TV. It’s unfair… They should be subject to the same rules applicable to all party litigants,” Perez said.

The QC-RTC gave both GMA and ABS-CBN until February 11 to submit their memoranda, after which the court will decide on the request for TRO.

Rules for digital TV out next week

THE National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) will issue next week the revised guidelines for digital television service for the country,including the technology platform that will be adopted by the broadcastindustry.

NTC commissioner Ruel Canobas said the technical working group (TWG) ondigital TV, which witnessed the demonstration and propagation tests ofeach of the competing standards being used in other countries, willsubmit its final position paper in the next few days.

This, even as experts from America in Digital Terrestrial Television(DTT) technology have yet to conduct a demo test broadcast of its owntechnology platform.

Last Sunday, because of the explosive exchange of words between Rufa Mae Quinto and Jessa Zaragoza, hindi na-ere ang interview ng The Buzz with Regine Velasquez. Ginawa pa ito at pinuntahan pa ni Boy Abunda himself at the backstage of Martin Nievera’s successful 25th anniversary concert.

Anyway, among the issues that were clarified by the veteran host with Regine is the issue na buntis daw siya kay Ogie Alcasid. Pero say ni Songbird, kasal daw muna bago magka-anak.

In another interview, Regine said the same thing pero may kadugtong na nakakaloka…. “I want to get married first but ayoko magsalita ng tapos!”

O diba? She continued that if she does indeed get pregnant before getting married, she would still consider it a blessing. Pero hangga’t maari, ayaw daw niya mangyari ito because she and Ogie still have a lot of things to fix.

Of course, she must be referring to the marriage annulment of Ogie with his ex, Michelle Van Eimeren!

Even if he didn’t admit anything openly in the past about his relationship with Anne Curtis, Sam Milby pretty much said a lot of things in his interview in The Buzz.

Sabi niya that they have a special friendship for some time now but because of a misunderstanding, ilang araw din daw sila hindi nag-usap. He also clarified rumors that he proposed to Anne kasi may nangyaring pamamanhikan nung Pasko “But it’s simply not true,” he simply said. “The truth of the matter is, me and my mom spent Christmas Eve with Anne’s family in their house but that’s about it.”

He said that her mom was in the country during the holidays and she obliged to go to Anne’s house after they were invited. “It was just my mom and me here, so, we accepted the invitation,” Sam said.

Nung New Year naman, si Anne ang naki-celebrate sa bahay ni Sam.

Pero guys, eto ang nakakaloka diba? When Tito Boy asked Sam if he loves Anne, he said, ”Yes.”

In fairness kay Sam ha. Medyo he’s opening up now when he used to be so reserved. The last time he was this open on his feelings for a girl was during the time he was courting Toni Gonzaga, whom everyone knows ay walang nangyari and eventually, Toni moved on to her current boyfriend’s arms, si direk Paul Soriano.

Good thing Toni and Sam have a good relationship because they are now busy promoting together My Big Love under Star Cinema.

MANILA, Philippines -- Entertainment columnist Lolit Solis insisted on Thursday that there was “no malice” when she wrote about an alleged meeting between actors Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby at a five-star hotel in her tabloid column.

She said the two were merely “hypersensitive” when they sued her for libel.

Solis, along with her editor in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Veronica Samio, are now facing a P12-million libel suit filed against them by the actors.

The columnist, who submitted her rejoinder-affidavit Thursday morning at the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office, claimed her statements in the “Take It, Take It” column titled “Piolo at Sam, huling huling naglalampungan” [Piolo and Sam Caught Romancing] were misinterpreted.

“She was just describing what she saw. We maintained (in our rejoinder) that it wasn’t defamatory, it was just their interpretation,” said Solis’ counsel Margarita Briones Lasam.

Solis, in her October 15 column, said she saw the singers acting “sweet” at the poolside of Sofitel Hotel around 4 p.m. of October 12.

Pascual and Milby complained that they were depicted as “gay.” They promptly sued Solis when she refused to retract her statement.

Actors Paolo Contis, Alfred Vargas and Yasmien Kurdi attended the hearing on Thursday to give moral support to the talent manager.

In her affidavit, Solis said she never referred to the singers as “gay or homosexuals.”

“We also refuted the statements of their witnesses due to inconsistencies,” Lasang said.

Solis’ lawyer said they were hopeful the charges would be dismissed. In her defense, Samio said she included a letter from her editor, stating she had resigned from her post when the article appeared.

KC will make her acting debut in an episode in "Maalaala Mo Kaya" with Derek Ramsey playing her leading man.

Nagkamay sina Piolo Pascual at Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim kahapon ng umaga, February 7, bago magsimula ang parada ng ABS-CBN Team Kapamilya primetime programs—ang Kung Fu Kids, Palos, at Lobo—kasabay ng selebrasyon ng Chinese New Year sa Binondo.

Habang nagaganap ang pakikipagkamay ni Piolo kay Mayor Lim, nasa Manila City Hall naman ang ang columnist/TV host/manager na si Lolit Solis para sa hearing ng libel case na isinampa nina Piolo at Sam Milby laban sa kanya. Matatandaan na si Mayor Lim din noon ang punong-bayan sa Manila nang maganap ang scam sa Manila Film Festival noong 1994, na kinasangkutan ni Lolit at iba pang mga artista gaya nina Gabby Concepcion, Gretchen Barretto, Ruffa Gutierrez, at iba pa.

"I just got a text this morning from Atty. Joji Alonso [Piolo and Sam's lawyer]. It's really ctitical, so medyo mahirap magsalita. Let's just wait for the decision," bungad ni Piolo nang makausap siya ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) pagkatapos ng parada sa President restaurant sa Ongpin.

Ayon sa mga nakausap ni Lolit sa hearing, nagsisisi na raw ang sikat na talent manager kung bakit isinulat pa niya na nakita niyang magkasama sina Piolo at Sam sa Hotel Sofitel. Kung alam lang daw ni Lolit na aabot sa ganitong situwasyon ang isinulat niya, sana raw ay hindi na lang niya ito ginawa.

Ano ang masasabi ni Piolo rito?

"You know, it's a matter of pride lang naman ‘yon, e," sabi ng aktor. "We asked for a retraction. She knows in her heart na it didn't happen. Nothing really transpired on that day, so we just want the truth to come out and we gave her many chances to retract her statement to come out with the truth."

Sinabi rin daw ni Manay Lolit since it's the Year of the Rat ngayong 2008 ayon sa Chinese calendar, sana ay kainin na lang daw yung affidavit ng mga daga para magkaroon ng chance ng reconciliation outside the court.

"We're just waiting," simpleng tugon ni Piolo nang hingin namin ulit ang kanyang reaksiyon.

On a lighter note, nag-enjoy naman daw si Piolo sa pakiki-celebrate niya ng Chinese New Year sa mga kababayan nating Instik sa Chinatown sa Ongpin. Maraming bagay rin daw ang pumapasok sa isip ni Piolo nang nakita niya for the first time kung paano sila mag-celebrate ng Chinese New Year.

"I really enjoyed the parade kasi it's the first time to join them and it's good to be with our Kapamilya shows early morning and experience the Chinese New Year," masayang sabi ni Piolo.

Samantala, wala naman daw choice ang kanyang leading lady sa Lobo na si Angel Locsin kundi ang maka-date si Piolo sa Valentine's day.

"She's my date kasi may taping kami ng Lobo," sambit ng matinee idol.

6. My total lack of malice can be gleaned from the article itself when I wondered why they left immediately after a waiter called my name. I would have loved the opportunity to meet or at least be in greeting terms with two of the biggest stars in the movie industry at present time. So it was with regret, humor and wonder that I interjected to the readers that:

Tumalilis ba sina Piolo at Sam dahil afraid na harbatan ko sila? Nag-alala ba ang dalawa na baka magpalibre ako sa kanila o hindi nila type na ka-share ako sa panonood nila sa paglubog ng araw!"

Truly, why should I even be concerned about the complainants' perception or opinion of me it I have the malicious intention of degrading their character?

7. At most, the complainants charge me with causing the readers to suppose that they are gay, and supposedly causing the impeachment of their reputation as actors marketed as leading men idol, and subjecting them to public ridicule. Is it not public knowledge that numerous articles had already been written and repeatedly written by numerous writers directly calling them gay? Is it not true that they remain to be the hottest male personalities in ABS-CBN? Is it not true also that their faces are seen everywhere in billboards, advertisements and commercials nationwide and even abroad, endorsing numerous products? Is it not true that they star in their own soap operas and appear in weekly TV shows? We all know that the answer to these questions is a big YES. So, had their status as matinee idols been impeached by any talks regarding their gender preferences? Absolutely not!

8. In this context, the complainant's allegation that I destroyed or maligned their reputation by telling the readers that I saw them whispering in a very public place is very absurd and childish.

9. As I have said before, complainants never found any of the other articles written by other writers branding them "gay" defamatory, offensive and malicious. They never saw those articles as tending to cause dishonor, discredit or contempt of their person in the public's eyes. Instead, complainants passively acknowledged, after a cursory denial, that those write-ups even fuelled the public's continuing interest in their thriving careers. It even makes them more mysterious, interesting and appealing to the public's eyes.

10. As public personalities, they should not be overly sensitive to biting comments or reports that may be thrown their way. They have denied that they are onion-skinned. I believe them to some extent because they never over-reacted to the numerous write-ups calling them gay before. However, they are being selectively onion-skinned towards my write-up which never branded or tended to brand them in any derogatory manner. This is a case of selective prosecution and I do not understand why. All I can say is that their previous nonchalance to the negative articles written by other writers about them constitutes an admission that even calling them ‘gay' directly is not libelous, even less so, the neutral statements I made in my article. They therefore have no cause of action against me. (To be continued)

REJOINDER-AFFIDAVIT

I, Lolit A. Solis, of legal age, with address at 16 Antler St., North Fairview, Quezon City, after being duly sworn to in accordance with law submit this Rejoinder-Affidavit, as follow:

1. It is beyond question that I never called the complainants gay or homosexuals. I likewise never wrote that Piolo and Sam are engaged in any homosexual activities. I merely narrated in my article that I saw the two men "nagbubulungan" and as they are "nagbubulungan", it obviously follows that "halos magkadikit na nga ang mga pisngi nila".

2. Is whispering a homosexual activity? Would two men who whisper to each other because they don't want to broadcast their conversation to everyone, be identified as "homosexuals" engaging in "homoxesual activites"? Is whispering an act associated exclusively to the female gender, so much so that men who do it must be wanting to be female? The complainants' hypersensitivity and overly defensive stance appear to have stretched out their logic and perception to the point of ludicrousness and nonsensicality.

3. I don't even know what the complainants' meant by "homosexual activities". They might suppose that they know better what it meant, but I am certain that any ordinary, logical, sensible, unbiased, and unconditioned mind would beg to differ. There is nothing libelous about my article.

4. There was no imputation of any malicious or defamatory conditions to either of the complainants. It was only their erroneous perception that caused them to misinterpret the newspaper article as calling them "gays" or imputing them to be so. They claimed that all minds would leap to an unfavorable implication upon reading the article. As a general proposition however, the entire article must be read as a whole, and the words given their natural and obvious meanings. Would a person of ordinary intelligence, with ordinarily intelligent discrimination, ascribe a defamatory remark to the language used? That is not the case here.

5. Observations of the place, and even my own clumsiness. I narrated what I saw at that moment. Relevant to note is that the complainants have yet to deny the actuations ascribed to them in the article I wrote. Perhaps, even they find it absurd to be objecting to a harmless enough statement that they were "nagbubulungan" at a poolside café. Instead, they or their handlers took advantage of the situation and saw this as an opportunity to generate more hype or publicity for them. They devised a way to make the situation more controversial by publicizing to the world that I fabricated a story about them and intended to malign their reputations, in a manner that is still very convenient for them. Complainants made a general denial but it is a bit confusing if the denial concerns only their absence in the place or the acts specified in the article. In establishing their supposed absence in Sofitel, they presented affidavits of witnesses whose very close association to the complainants tainted their testimony.

Come to think of it, kung pagiging physically fit ang pag-uusapan, walang itulak-kabigin si Sam kina Anne, Bangs at Toni.

Lolit Solis tells court: Piolo-Sam story not libelous

MANILA, Philippines -- Entertainment columnist Lolit Solis insisted on Thursday that there was “no malice” when she wrote about an alleged meeting between actors Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby at a five-star hotel in her tabloid column.

She said the two were merely “hypersensitive” when they sued her for libel.

Solis, along with her editor in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Veronica Samio, are now facing a P12-million libel suit filed against them by the actors.

The columnist, who submitted her rejoinder-affidavit Thursday morning at the Manila City Prosecutor’s Office, claimed her statements in the “Take It, Take It” column titled “Piolo at Sam, huling huling naglalampungan” [Piolo and Sam Caught Romancing] were misinterpreted.

“She was just describing what she saw. We maintained (in our rejoinder) that it wasn’t defamatory, it was just their interpretation,” said Solis’ counsel Margarita Briones Lasam.

Solis, in her October 15 column, said she saw the singers acting “sweet” at the poolside of Sofitel Hotel around 4 p.m. of October 12.

Pascual and Milby complained that they were depicted as “gay.” They promptly sued Solis when she refused to retract her statement.

Actors Paolo Contis, Alfred Vargas and Yasmien Kurdi attended the hearing on Thursday to give moral support to the talent manager.

In her affidavit, Solis said she never referred to the singers as “gay or homosexuals.”

“We also refuted the statements of their witnesses due to inconsistencies,” Lasang said.

Solis’ lawyer said they were hopeful the charges would be dismissed. In her defense, Samio said she included a letter from her editor, stating she had resigned from her post when the article appeared.

ANGEL Locsin says she is not offended by the remark of producer Lily Monteverde that the Richard Gutierrez-Marian Rivera love team is better than the Richard-Angel team-up because he is guwapo, she is guwapa, and they are both fair-skinned.

“Masaya naman ako sa kulay ko, morena,” said Angel.

At the same time, Angel appealed to the media not to compare her with rising GMA-7 star Marian Rivera, who took the role of Marimar in the hit TV series after Angel moved to ABS-CBN.

Saying she and Marian have totally different personalities, Angel told showbiz reporters, “Yung nangyari kay Marimar. . . kay Marian. . . Na-offer sa kanya yung Darna, pero nahihiya raw siyang tanggapin kasi natatakot po siyang ma-compare sa akin ulit. Nahihiya ako sa kanya kasi alam ko yung feeling.”

She added: “Sana ‘wag na lang kaming i-compare kasi magkaiba po kami ni Marian. Maganda si Marian, magaling po siya. Maputi siya, maitim po ako. Ginagawa ko lang po ang trabaho ko. . . Nahihiya po akong i-compare kasi parang pinag-aaway kami.”

Even Marian is concerned about the issue. In one recent magazine interview, she said that of the three soaps being planned by GMA-7 -- Rosalinda, Darna and Dyesebel -- she would rather have the role of the half-fish, half-human character of Dyesebel because with Darna she might be compared with Angel, who last played the role at her former network.

After several months of absence from primetime television since her transfer from GMA-7 last year, Angel appears in the new ABS-CBN show Lobo, with Piolo Pascual. The action-romance TV series premiered on Jan. 28.

ANNABELLE Rama is making no bones about her admiration for KC Conception and she wants it known to son Richard Gutierrez.

Asked if she wanted Richard and KC to team up in a project, Annabelle replied, “Kahit sa totoong buhay, dong.” Richard was beside her when she made the remark.

Annabelle’s comment could be an early promotional stunt because GMA Films has indeed a movie project lined up for the two in 2009.

Jericho Rosales is now a solo singer. Although the ex-members of Jeans continue to be his back-up band, he has broke free from them in what he terms as "the requests of fans."

To announce this new status, Jericho released the eight-track self-titled CD under EMI Phils made up of four pull-offs from Jeans' debut album (also released by EMI Phils) and four OPM hits. And true to form, he breaks barrier by coming up with the carrier single "Paglisan," now the number one in the YES FM hit chart. A remake of the hit song by the ‘90s band Color It Red, Jericho interprets it as a soulful but edgy version. It was a featured song in the high-rating ABS-CBN teleserye Pangarap na Bituin which Jericho headlined with Sarah Geronimo.

Besides "Paglisan," Jericho also covered Sharon Cuneta's powerful "Pangarap na Bituin," Tito Mina's funky "Ikaw Pa rin" and Joshua Kadison's heartfelt "Beautiful In My Eyes," which he dedicates for girlfriend Heart Evangelista. The self-made songs are "Ngayong Gabi," "Tuwing Makikita Ka," "Coming Out" and "Kasama Ka."

Breaking buzz: Jericho is now a semi-regular in ASAP. He's also set to do a drama series in Malaysia with big-name actors over there.

ABS-CBN edges out GMA in “nationwide” ratings

“Nationwide,” and not the usual Mega Manila, ratings of primetime shows were furnished to Pilipino Star Ngayon yesterday from GMA 7 Network. In the latest ratings covered January 27 – February 2, it emerged that four out of the top six primetime shows were of the Kapamilya network.

1. Kung Fu Kids 37.1%

2. Lobo 36.3 %

3. Marimar 32.7%

4. TV Patrol World 31.6%

5. Palos 29.3%

6. Kamandag 27.8%

The ratings were based on AGB Nielsen’s Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM).

In the last Mega Manila ratings dated February 4-5, GMA 7 still ruled the top 5 in primetime offerings, with “Marimar” as the overall number one show with its 40-plus ratings.

In related news, PSN also reported that ABS-CBN big boss, Gabby Lopez, was not disappointed with the supposed dismal rating performance of its newest programs, Kung Fu Kids, Lobo at Palos, according to a TV executive.

The TV executive, who refused to be named, also said that even if detractors of “Lobo” star Angel Locsin continue to say that “Lobo” has not been rating, the upcoming three TV commercials of the controversial actress are going prove otherwise.

The TVCs are sure to surprise fans because they will partner Angel with other leading men, added the TV exec.

As for the latest ratings, the TV exec said that AGB Nielsen has stopped giving them ratings.

Napansin ko lang na sa lahat ng float yung kay Angel at Piolo ang pinakamarami, at mga tao sigaw ng sigaw ng Angel at Piolo at kinikilig sila. Nakakatwa lang kse sobrang traffic, at may ambulance na dumadaan di sya makadaan, kaya sumigaw sya na "nandito si Piolo sa loob!" haha para padaanin cguro sya. Tapos yung mga tao, nagbibiruan ayun si Angel.. or Kapatid ako ni Piolo! haha!
Grabe ang acceptance ng tao sa binondo, makes you think, ito ba ang sinasabi nilang di pinapanood at di click sa tao? Huh? So HERE's the thing. I came to a conclusion na may hocus focus nga ang ratings na yan. You gotta witness ang mga reaction ng mga taga Manila para malaman mo eh. I think way ng GMA yan para yung ABS mataranta, at pag nakita nga naman na mababa ang rating, automatic yun, sandali lang ipapalabas ang show.

As a viewer ito ang best advice ko sa ABS. Listen sila sa mga viewers wag sa ratings or sa mga writers, kse ang mga yan nababayaran. Listen sa mga fans wag sa detractors, kse may motibo ang detractors na di maganda. Tignan kung gaano naappreciate ng tao ang show pag nagkakaroon ng ganyang mall tour. Pag ganyang kinaguguluhan, dpat lang mag stick ang abs sa show nila, forget those negative comments and LISTEN to us. Maganda ang 3 shows, The best for me ang LOBO. Kaya let these shows sink in sa mga viewers, kse before, nagsisimula pa lang mag enjoy mga viewers biglang wala na. Stick na lang kyo sa original plan, ang kung gagawa kayo ng changes, tignan ninyo muna maigi kung ano ang gusto ng tao, at hindi ng ratings. Kayo na rin ang nagsabi na iilan lang yan may PANEL homes. Di makatarungan at san pa nakalagay yan? Sa mga taong pdeng mabayaran. So Wag magpadala sa mga nega write ups. Ako saludo pa ako sa mga newspaper na magaganda ang sinasabi, at yun ang binibili ko, kesa sa mga taong naninira, nakakahiya kse, ktang kta ang crab mentality ng ibang pinoy.

So I hope nakikinig ang ABS.. look na rin sa pinoyexchange.com at see kung anong reaction ng mga taong nanonood. You can distinguish a good show from a bad show, BAD SHOW- kung may nagcomment ng negative and yet walang nag react.
GOOD SHOW- kung daming nagcocomment ng negative, pero mas marami ang nagdedefend. Normal yan, dahil threat ang isang good show.

The live musical performance will star some of the Philippines biggest male performers, including Piolo Pascual, John Llyod Cruz and Pinoy Big Brother’s Sam Milby. There also will be a special appearance by popular comedian Pokwang.

The one-night performance will be held on March 19 at the Father Duenas Memorial School’s Phoenix Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 8 p.m.

Part of the proceeds of this event will be for the benefit of the Tourism Education Council.

DINAGSA ng napakara-ming tao ang motorcade ng Team Kapamilya featuring the cast of Kung Fu Kids, Palos (lead by Jake Cuenca and Bangs Garcia) at Lobo with no less, Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin noong Huwebes ng umaga sa mismong selebrasyon ng Chinese New Year.

Maaga pa lang ay nasa Binondo na ang cast ng tatlong programa para maki-saya sa mga nag-aabang sa kanilang parade. Bandang 10 a.m. nang magsi-mulang umusad ang sinasakyang float ng mga artista. Pero, hindi pa man nagsisimula ang parada ay na-pakakapal na ng tao sa da-an.

Nakasakay kami sa float ng Lobo with Piolo and Angel kaya kitang-kita naming kung gaano kaiinit ang pagtanggap ng mga Chinoy at ka-puwa Pilipino sa mga bida ng Lobo.

In fact, Lyka at Noah ang tawag ni-la kay Piolo at Angel. Ito ang mga karakter na ginagampanan ng da-lawa sa Lobo.

Walang sawang ku-maway at nakipagkamay sina Piolo at Angel sa fans. Nagpakuha rin sila ng pictures sa ibang fans na umaga pa lang ay nag-aabang na sa kanila. Ang lakas-lakas pala talaga sa fans nina Piolo at Angel. Imagine, kahit mga lalaki ay sinisigawan si Piolo ng “I love you, Piolo.”

Sa nasabing motorcade, kitang-kita rin kung paano pagkaguluhan si Jake ng Palos. Sikat na rin ang kapareha niyang si Bangs dahil may tumatawag na ng kanyang pangalan. May mga banner din kaming nakita for Jake from his fans.

Hindi pa nga sana kami sasama sa motorcade na ‘yon ng ABS-CBN Team Kapamilya dahil sobrang aga. Pero nang malaman naming Chinese New Year nga pala ‘yon at maaaring magdala ito sa amin ng suwerte, join na rin kami.

Habang nagpaparada, tinanong na rin namin si Angel kung kumusta ang relasyon nila ngayon ng manager niyang si Tita Beciky Aguila.

Hindi naman idinenay ng dalaga na may misunderstanding sila. Normal na raw ang ganung set-up sa kanila, pero nananatili pa rin daw siya sa poder ng manager.

Buti na lang at nasagip ng mga bata ang Kungfu Kids na kahit papaano ay lumalaban nang pukpukan sa kalaban at isang kindat lang ang lamang ng kalaban.

Hindi na kami magla*lagay rito ng matinong suggestions dahil nasasayang lang naman. Si*guro, mas gusto ng mga kinauukulan that I heckle them instead para may maisumbong sila sa Papa Gabby ko.

Pati televiewers eh umiwas na rin yatang sindihan pa ang mga TV set nila mula nu’ng matapos ang Ysabella.

At kung bukas man ang mga TV set nila, text sa akin ng mga Juday-followers, sa Marimar daw muna sila!

O, heto na naman ang papayuhan naming si Martin Nievera – don’t you think he looks stupid now? (Remember, Martin -- what comes around goes around?)
Alam naming hindi rin susunod si Martin sa payo namin dahil likas na matigas ang ulo nito.

My advice to Martin: baguhin mo na ang theme song ng Lobo.
Instead na ‘yun ang kinakanta mo eh gawin mo nang ‘Spaghetti’ dahil “spaghetting pababa nang pababa” -- ay teka, mas mabuti siguro kung si Bayani Agbayani na lang ang kunin kong kumanta ng theme song -- mas mura pa siguro!

KUDOS to ANGEL LOCSIN in LOBO (from yahoo groups)

I never really liked Angel when she was in GMA. When she transferred
to ABS, I got doubts that she might not level up with Bea Alonzo,
Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Baretto's acting. What I did was, I
tried watching LOBO from day one, made a little observation. When
Angel and Piolo appeared in the story, I got impressed with Angel's
acting. She definitely gave justice to her "Geeky yet beautiful Lyka"
role and I commend her for that. I never thought she could actually
act as good or even as better as the Premiere stars of ABS. I think
in GMA, she showed more "magic of a fantaserye" which overlapped
the "real emotion of a teleserye". In short, "puro suntukan, less
drama". I guess her workshop with ABS-CBN and Piolo really paid off!
If ever LOBO's not getting as good ratings as the opposite show (if
ever lang, may ratings issue pa eh... lol ), I know her decision to
move to ABS will benefit her craft. Dapat sabihin ni Marian kay
Angel... "very fective!" lol

Another side story, my mom didn't like her actually. She was
saying "ba't pa ba lumipat yan? Sino ba siya!?" Well, 2 days ago, i
was surprised she was hooked with the show. Well, she really doesn't
watch much TV except for PBB which is temporarily off the air. So she
never had any alternative to it until LOBO came.

Anyway, Good Luck to Angel and IGood job to her and I hope she'll
keep on improving with her craft. I hope she sees this... haha

(Di natin masisi ang ABS if they are making fantaserye na teleserye
pa rin ang dating is because ang target market ng ABS ay babae sa
GMA, puro bata. Sinong network fans ba ang may buying power? ... hehe!

Filipinos in Dubai are in for a treat as Philippine boxing idol Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao's March 15 rematch with WBC super featherweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez will be aired by ABS-CBN Middle East through The Filipino Channel (TFC).

ABS-CBN Middle East managing director Edgardo Garcia and Top Rank president Todd DuBoef signed a television license agreement granting ABS-CBN Middle East the exclusive rights to air all professional fights promoted by Top Rank.

"We're just hapy to be able to bring Manny Pacquio's forthcoming fights in the region," Garcia said after the contract signing.

"Top Rank produces very world class boxing matches, and to be able to bring all of these is really an honor and privilege."

DuBoef said: "Actually it's a major area of sports, it's a major area of boxing... and this is going to be more premiere with great partnership between Top Rank and ABS-CBN Middle East."

Pacquiao failed to snatch Marquez's belt in their 2004 fight in Las Vegas after judges decided to declare the match a draw.

Other big fights that will be promoted by Top Rank this year will also be aired in Dubai through the TFC.

DuBoef also hinted of arranging for a major fight in Dubai.

Sensiya na, pero wala akong nababasang sinisiraan si Judy...
wag niyo naman tirahin si Juday. Kahit naman alaga ni alfie si juday wala namang ginagawa si juday. Yung manager na lang ang tirahin wag na si juday. About juday and piolo wag niyo ng lagyan ng issue kung bakit sila hindi nagkatuluyan. Hindi talaga sila para sa isat isa. Masaya na si Juday kay Ryan I'm sure magiging masaya rin si Piolo kapag nahanap na niya ang babae para sa kanya. I am fan of Juday and Piolo.

Fan rin ako ni Judy. Kaso lang ayoko talaga kay Alfie. Di ko maiintindihan kung bakit di pa mabiti-bitiwan ni Judy si Alfie eh.

hay naku mga kapatid, kaya nagkakaganyan yang si ka alfie dahil kahit ano gawin ng alaga nya, e hindi pinatulan ni piolo, hindi umubra ang saying na "a way to a man's heart is through their stomach",kaya nag aral magluto alaga nya diba, e sorry wa pansin yung isa..

Di ko ito naibabalik tanaw ah. Ni isang tsismis na naging ganito ang eksena. Babaw naman kung ganun :)

wag na lang pansinin dahil mahilig kumain ng ampalaya parang yung mga tiga kabila, tinitira nya si piolo, kaya kawawa naman si juday kay cristy fermin, amanos!!!! ewan ko nga ba bakit hindi nya na ilipat sa kabila si juday, tingnan lang natin kung makapag pahinga yun dahil for sure sunod sunod din yung projects nun, ewan kundi lumaylay dila ng alaga nya
kahit naman siguro lilipat si Judy, di naman yun basta tanggap lang ng tanggap ng projects. Di naman siya gaanung nangangailangan eh :D

Nilinaw ng aktor na si Sam Milby ang tunay na estado noon ng relasyon niya sa bagong leading lady ng teleserye na si Bangs Garcia.

Samantala, inamin naman ni Bangs na nasaktan ang kanyang pamilya sa mga bwelta ni Sam.

Sa press conference ng kanyang bagong pelikula, hindi naiwasan ni Sam sagutin ang mga tanung naguugnay sa kanila ni bagong leading lady sa teleserye na si Bangs.

Nilinaw ni Sam sa press ang naging tunay na estado ng relasyon nila ni Bangs nuon.

"I'm not denying her. Hindi. Of course I had feelings for her because we were dating, but it was only three weeks," ani Sam.

Nailang tuloy si Bangs pagusapan pa ang lumaking isyung sa pagitan nila ng aktor.

Pero sa gitna ng kasayahan sa "Team Kapamilya" Chinese New Year's celebration, hindi natago ni Bangs ang kanyang damdamin matapos umanong maliitin ni Sam ang kanyang dating relasyon sa aktres.

Giit ni Bangs, mas lalo raw nasaktan ang kanyang pamilya sa mga salita ni Sam.

"There's something about the way he said it. Hindi talaga nagustuhan ng pamilya ko and my closest friends who were affected," ani Bangs.

DEBUT ni Melissa Ricks noong January 9, pero wala siyang bonggang party at sa halip, isang engrandeng selebrasyon ang ibinigay sa kanya ng ABS-CBN na ginawa sa ASAP.

Sa show siya isinayaw ng cotillion ng friends niya sa showbiz at sobra ang pasasalamat nito sa ibinigay sa kanyang importansiya ng show, hosts at mainstays nito.

Kasunod noon, nagkaroon siya ng get-together party sa isang comedy bar, pero naging kumpleto ang kanyang kaarawan nang magdaos siya ng isang charity sa Baliuag, Bulacan, kasama ang mga batang ulila ng Bethlehem Orphanage.

Napanood si Melissa sa Pedro Penduko at dito nakilala ang loveteam nila ni Matt Evans. Lumabas na rin siya sa Love Spell at sa pelikulang Shake, Rattle & Roll 9.

Nakatakda siyang gumawa ng isa pang komiks serye. Isa rin siyang Penshoppe endorser kasama si Matt.

MELISSA Ricks is happy that the first movie of her love team with Matt Evans, “Shake Rattle & Roll 9,” was a hit during the Metro Manila Filmfest. “Ang sarap ng feeling mapabilang sa isang topgrossing movie,” she says. “When we watched it at punumpuno ng tao ang sinehan, we really felt proud lalo na when they were screaming with fright during our episode.”

Melissa turned 18 on January 9 and she had her debut right in “ASAP” where her close friends in showbiz danced the traditional cotillion with her. “It was really a memorable birthday celebration for me and I’d like to thank my ASAP family. Later on, I held a get-together with my friends and then I went to the Bethlehem Orphanage in Baliwag, Bulacan. After I joined Star Circle Quest, talagang ang daming dumating na blessings sa akin. I did the hit show, ‘Pedro Penduko, with Matt where I played Reyna Hiyas. I also did ‘Your Song’ at nagka-movie pa ako, kaya I felt I should share it with the less fortunate kids in the orphanage.”

Melissa Ricks had a blast in Asap as she celebrated her 18th birthday. Her close friends in the business danced her in a traditional cotillion. It was a memorable birthday for Melissa and she was thankful to her Asap family. Fondly called Nini by her close friends, she also had a get together with friends on her birthday last Jan. 9. Her birthday would not be complete without holding a charity in Baliwag, Bulacan. She treated the kids in Bethlehem Orphanage. In her two years in the business, she has become TV’s most loved female celebrity. Her first teamed up with Matt Evans in Pendro Penduko made her known as Reyna Hiyas. Among her other projects with Matt were Love Spell and the movie Shake Rattle and Roll. Melissa is also a Penshoppe endorser who will be doing another Komiks series soon. ;)

Ilan lamang sa produkto ng talent search ang nanatili sa showbiz. May ilang hindi nanakikita sa TV o pelikula pero isa si Jason Abalos sa produkto ng Star Circle Quest na nanatili sa showbiz.

Maswerte siya dahil nagkaroon siya ng pagkakataon na makatrabaho ang mga kilalang pangalan sa industriya tulad nina Judy Ann Santos at Maricel Soriano.

Nakagawa na rin siya ng indie film na Endo kung saan napansin ang kanyang pag-arte. Na-nominate siya bilang Best Actor at naimbitahan na dumalo sa Nantes Film Festival sa France noong isang taon.

Mag-uumpisa na rin siyang gawin ang isang episode ng Your Song kasama sina Erich Gonzales at Heart Evangelista. 22 years old na si Jason noong Enero 14.

No gay roles for Piolo

He has been rumored to be gay, which he and his friends and family vehemently deny, and Piolo Pascual won’t allow himself to play a gay role in his movie or TV projects. This is one of the few limitations which the handsome and popular actor has imposed on himself.

Incidentally, Piolo and Sam Milby’s libel case against TV host and columnist Lolita Solis will go on as the actors are deadset in pursuing the case. On the other hand, Lolit is also standing on what she wrote that she saw Sam and Piolo at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza coffee shop last Oct. 12, 2007.

Tama nga si KC, mas*yadong mahabang panahon ang pinaghintay ng mga supporters niya bago siya tuluyang makita na umaarte. Noon pa nga ay inaawitan na ang nanay niya para paartehin si KC, pero panay ‘no’ ang sagot.

Bakit nga ba napapa*yag si KC na umarte na sa harap ng kamera?

“Well, it was really the transition for me. It was the adjustment period for me, because I started in theatre.

“It was an adjustment, from stage to cameras, to the screen. So, it’s something I needed to do. So, if ever man po na gumawa ako ng film in the future, nakakahiya naman po sa magagaling na artista diyan na pumasok ako na hindi ako prepared.

“So, I wanted my first acting experience to be with Maalaala, of course, because it’s also very reputable drama anthology like you said. At masaya ako na nabigyan ako ng chance na maging part nito,” sagot ni KC.

Ikinuwento nga ni KC na para sa unang pag-arte niya sa harap ng kamera, kinailangan niyang mag-acting workshop, para mas maging epektibo siya.
May mga panahon nga raw na lumalabas siya ng Channel 2 (ginagawa ang acting workshop), na para siyang luka-luka, na haggard ang itsura niya.

Eh, ikaw ba naman ang umiyak nang umiyak sa workshop, at sabunutan ang sarili mo, hindi ka ba mangangarag? Na sa totoo lang ay mukhang nakatulong ng malaki, dahil sa trailer pa lang, marami na ang pumuri sa performance ni KC, na mahusay ngang umiyak, at natural na natural ang acting.

Pero kuwento ni KC, sa unang eksena nila, nangatog nang husto ang katawan niya dahil sa nerbiyos, at sa tantiya niya ay umabot sa 3 ang takes nila.

Kuwento pa rin ni KC, na sa huling eksena na ginawa niya, na kung saan ay nakita na niyang patay si Ricky Davao (gumaganap na tatay niya sa MMK), bumigay talaga siya nang husto.

“Sa morgue pa lang, nu`ng makita ko pa lang si Tito Ricky Davao na naka-prosthetics na siya, sobrang trauma na po ako, na hanggang sa pag-uwi, nangangatog pa po ako.

“Binigay ko po talaga lahat nang mabibi*gay ko to that scene. ‘Yun ang isa sa pinakamahirap na scene,” patuloy na kuwento pa rin ni KC.

Pero siyempre, kung may isang tao na puwedeng magsalita sa kahusayan o sa kapalpakan ni KC, `yun ay ang director niyang si Jerry Sineneng.

Kuwento ni Direk Jerry, sa simula ay parang kinabahan din siya, dahil malaking tao nga si KC, na anak nina Gabby Concepcion at Sharon, na baka may masama itong ugali, o maarte at mahirap pakisamahan.

“Pero swear, totoo po, napakabait niya. It’s an honor for me to work with KC. Wala akong reklamo sa batang ito. Wala siyang ere. Wala siyang… “I want a room. I’m so tired.’ Wala siyang ganu`n, I swear. Wala siyang demands.

“Maraming artistang ganu`n, `di ba?

“Ang bilis-bilis pa niyang mag-memorize ng lines, at mabilis siyang pumik-ap. Ang sarap-sarap katrabaho ni KC. I’m so happy to be a part of her acting career history,” say na lang ni Direk Jerry.

Well, marami pang tsika tungkol kay KC, na dapat niyong abangan, at sa susunod na isyu na lang namin isusulat.

MABUTI naman at sa kabila ng mainit na network war ngayon, nagawang magbigayan ang GMA Films at ang Star Cinema ng Kapamilya channel sa playdate ng kani-kanilang Valentine’s presentations — ang My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend nina Richard Gutierrez at Marian Rivera at ang My Big Love nina Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby at Kristine Hermosa.

Earlier kasi, balitang magpupukpukan sa Feb. 13 playdate ang first movie together nina Richard at Marian versus ang starrer naman ng subok nang tambalan sa box-offce nina Sam at Toni plus Kristine.

Nitong bandang huli, marami ang nagtaka, lalo na ang mga intrigera, kung bakit daw biglang nabago ang playdate ng MBL at pang-Feb. 27 release na ito.

Kinumpirma ni Sandra Chavez, ang manager ni KC Concepcion, ang paggawa ng first movie ng anak ng Megastar na si Sharon Cuneta at ng dating matinee idol na si Gabby Concepcion. Ito ay pagkatapos gawin ni KC ang kauna-unahang drama appearance niya on TV sa Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Ayon sa manager ni KC, ang pagtanggap nila ng offer to do a special episode on Maalaala Mo Kaya ay bilang paghahanda sa pagpasok ng dalaga sa pelikula.

May verbal agreement na raw sila with Star Cinema, ang film arm ng ABS-CBN, at may mga kuwento na raw silang isinumite para pagpilian kung anong konsepto ng pelikula ang magiging first movie ni KC. Kapag nakapamili na si KC kung anong istorya ang nagustuhan niya at napagkasunduan nila ng Star Cinema, saka lang sila magpipirmahan ng kontrata.

Isa sa apat na pangalan ng mga aktor ang posibleng maging leading man ni KC for her first film project. Okay naman daw kay KC ang apat na pagpipilian: sina John Lloyd Cruz, Sam Milby, Derek Ramsay, at Piolo Pascual. Pero magdedepende pa rin kung sino ang mas babagay sa project.

May nagbanggit ng pangalan ni Aga Muhlach but, sad to say, hindi kasama ang pangalan ng aktor sa pinagpipilian.

"He will do a movie with Sharon sa next movie ni Mega," paliwanag ni Sandra.

Sayang, hindi kami nakapanood ng first major concert ni Toni Gonzaga, gustung-gusto pa naman sana naming matutukan ang kanyang concert dahil ngayon pa lang namin siya mapapa*nood bilang singer talaga.

Saludo kami sa pagiging host ni Toni, walang dead air para sa kanya, hindi siya nabubuhay sa teleprompter dahil mabilis siyang magkabisa ng kanyang mga linya.

Bilang aktres ay wala rin kaming masasabi sa dalaga, puwede siyang isalang sa komedya at pasok din siya bilang dramatic actress, kaya ang pagiging singer na lang talaga niya ang hindi pa namin natututukan nang mahabaan.

Napanood namin siyang kumakanta sa ASAP ’08, nung Linggo nang tanghali nga ay bumirit pa siya, ang galing-galing ni Toni. Pero mapagbiro talaga ang pagkakataon, kung kailan naman handang-handa na kaming manood ng kanyang unang major concert sa Aliw Theatre ay saka naman pumasok ang isang kompromisong hindi namin maaaring tanggihan, dahil may kuneksiyon yun sa linya ng aming trabaho sa telebisyon.

Pero kahit wala kami dun ay maraming nakarating na positibong kuwento sa amin tungkol sa concert ni Toni, punumpuno raw ang Aliw Theatre, at meron pa ngang nagtiyagang manood nang nangakatayo lang dahil wala nang mauupuan talaga ang kanyang mga tagahanga.
Sulit na sulit daw ang ipinambayad sa ticket ng mga nanood dahil kitang-kitang pinaghandaan ni Toni ang kanyang show, marami ring artistang nagdatingan para sumuporta sa kanya, ikinuwento rin ng aming mga kaibigan na nandun si Direk Paul Soriano na boyfriend ni Toni pero hindi ito umeksena at nanood lang sa girlfriend nito na ganadung-ganado sa pagpe-perform.

Ang tunog lang ng sound system ang medyo hindi nagustuhan ng aming mga kaibigan, masyado raw malakas at matining ang labas ng boses ng mga performers, isang bagay na matututukan na sa susunod ng produksiyon.

Now it can be told that Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga almost became sweethearts. In fact, the two of them had a "mutual understanding," MU for short, for three months.

It was Toni who suggested that they had a "cool off." And Sam said he had no choice but to accede to her decision.

Sam said that Anne Curtis knew about his near-romantic link to Toni. Anne later became his girlfriend, according to Sam. They are now kaput, though.

"But I want to win her back (Anne), no matter what," Sam stated.

Anne and Toni are cast together as Sam’s leading ladies in the teleserye, "Maging Sino Ka Man, Book Two," on ABS-CBN. In Star Cinema’s soon-to-be released movie, "My Big Love," it’s just Sam and Toni together.

"My Big Love," directed by new director Jade Castro, is the third team up of Sam and Tony. Their first two films together were "You Are the One" and "You Got Me," which both earned P100 million at the box office.

Parehong kaliwa ang mga paa niya and no mat-ter how hard he tries, he really is a failure and he must admit that.

Sa totoo lang, sirang-si-ra ang kanyang diskarte ka-pag sumasayaw na siya. Nagmumukha siyang komedyante gayung serious actor naman siya.

Kaya’t paging ASAP people, put a stop to your illusions that Sam can be a good dancer because you’re only exposing him to public ridicule. Period. For PGMA, everybody can be bought

For Gloria Arroyo and her partners in crime, everybody and everything can be settled with bribes, in cash or in kind, abuse of power and dark influence, including using the armed forces of the state as her private army.

A scared government official privy to a corrupt deal who does not want to testify before the Senate, as he may be detained and forced to tell the truth is quickly told not to worry, as Ma’am and Sir will take care of him and his needs, and is sent abroad, said to be on official business, with schedules antedated, to avoid being arrested.

When he says he wants to come home, Ma’am and Sir and ES (Executive Secretary) will take care of everything. And so, he is abducted from the airport, driven around for hours out of town, with armed men who tell him not to use his cellphone, as they already know of the messages he sent his wife and family members. And all the while, the Senate witness hears conversations among senators, who are obviously tapped, which is probably why Gloria and her cabal are on step of her political foes.

He is made to sign false affidavits and a request for security, complete with a lawyer sent by Malacañang to manufacture the evidence.

But as the wife and relatives of Rodolfo Lozada Jr. were all over radio telling one and all that Lozada has been kidnapped and too much media noise has ensued, there came Romulo Neri, a member of Gloria’s corrupt cabal, asking him to calm his wife. Then came Gloria’s troubleshooter Mike Defensor, who tells Lozada that he should call for a press conference to state that he knows nothing about the ZTE-National Broadband Network (NBN) deal and that Mike Arroyo had nothing to do with this project (which is a pretty stupid line, if you ask me, given that if Lozada, as they wanted him to say, knows nothing about the project, why then is he also to say Big Mike had nothing to do with the ZTE mess?).

And then he is told by Mike Defensor that he will be taking care of the media and have GMA-7’s Mike Enriquez take care of the press con — in other words, a stage managed press con. As for Lozada’s monetary needs, not to worry, there’s always Gloria, ready with her hush money, but make sure that Ma’am and Sir are absolved of this mess.

For Malacañang, everybody can be had for a price. Besides, the Palace mafia can always put any kind of spin it pleases with the media under Palace control.

Establishing ‘psychological dominance’ over primetime TV

MANILA, Philippines—When we heard that ABS-CBN was launching three new shows last Jan. 28, we decided to watch the first episode of all three teleseryes’, the better to cue our reader-viewers in on the new shows’ more promising aspects.

First to hit the TV screen after the news was “Kung Fu Kids,” about children with special fighting skills which they use to fight evil. It turned out that it was still early days for those martial arts fight scenes, because the show opted to start with a backgrounder set in China about a school for kung fu that was attacked by some unidentified and thus “generic” foes. The kung fu master was killed, but his talisman and its keeper appeared to end up (don’t ask why) in the Philippines.

Towards the end of the show’s first episode, its good-versus-bad motif was made to revolve around a scruffy bum, who surprised everyone by unleashing some fancy martial arts moves of his own involving — vegetables!

Child-friendly

But the show’s focus remained firmly on its kiddie characters, especially an unhappy boy blamed by his cop-father for the death of his mother. And, just to make sure that the new series’ child-friendly bent is clear, its cast even includes two animated mice who “comment” on the action!

Less child-friendly, however, is the show’s depiction of some of its kiddie characters as too “cutely” porma and sassy for words. And they’re loud! Quite a number of them screamed their lines so hard that we had to lower the TV set’s volume drastically to defend our eardrums.

The second new series, “Lobo,” turned out to be a love story with a big difference — a horror quotient, in fact. It appears that its female lead, Angel Locsin, is playing a she-werewolf! Well, that really is different, and it makes “Lobo” the most attention-calling production of the three new shows that Channel 2 has launched this season.

Attention-calling ‘moments’

The action series stars Cesar Montano as the title character, but it’s even more noticeably a star-making showcase for its younger costar, Jake Cuenca, who’s given many attention-calling “moments” in the show’s first episode. It’ll be interesting to see Cesar and Jake sharing crackling action and acting scenes in the series’ upcoming installments.

All in all, we think that ABS-CBN’s decision to field these three new series at the same time is a good move, because it establishes “psychological dominance” over the evening programming slot (initially at least). And the new shows are targeted at different viewer sectors, thus affecting greater breadth and reach on the prime time scene.

After a year, eto nga at muling kinuhang endorser ng Biogesic si John Lloyd, kaya ibig sabihin, effective siyang endorser.

“I’m very happy dahil eto, it’s another year with Biogesic, kasi iba ’yung pakiramdam na nag-e-endorse ka ng isang brand na talagang pinaniniwalaan mo. So, I’m very thankful,” ani Lloydie during the open forum.

After the Q&A portion, nilusob namin si Lloydie for more intriguing questions.

Ipinagtanggol nito si Ate Vi (Vilma Santos) kung bakit tila na-shelve na ang pelikulang noon pa pinag-uusapang gagawin nila abroad, dahil nga super busy ang governor ng Batangas at kailangan din namang mag-move on ni Direk Olive Llamasan.

So, totally shelved na, ganu’n?

“Well, ako, I’m still hoping. I’m giving it until this year. Well, sana… sana matuloy pa rin,” sey ng fave naming actor, na hindi lang mukhang malinis, kundi malinis talaga pati kuko sa kamay at butas ng ilong, in fairness.

“Ang magiging kapalit ba nu’n ay ’yung movie n’yo ni KC Concepcion?” hirit na tanong ng yours truly.

“’Yon nga ’yung naririnig ko, pero kagaya ng ibang projects ko, kung wala pa riyan, ang hirap kasing magsalita, eh.

“Minsan, kahit sa iyo na, napupunta pa sa iba, napapalitan ka, so, hangga’t hindi pa napalalabas, ang hirap pang angkinin. Minsan kasi, may nangyayari kahit na-shoot mo na, puwede ka pang tanggalin,” sey nitech.

Oo nga naman. That’s showbiz, you know.

Anyway, excited ba siya na maging ka-partner sa pelikula si KC?

“Kakailanganin ko ng maraming Biogesic,” birong sagot nito.

Bakit naman?

“Kasi, sa kaba pa lang at sa tension, sasakit na ang ulo ko, hahaha! Siyempre, KC Concepcion, maraming nakatutok. Eto nga, parang bali-balita pa lang, ang dami nang nagtatanong. What more kung natapos na ’yung pelikula or ginagawa n’yo na?” eksplika nito.

Uuuy, baka tipong afraid lang siyang ma-in love kay KC, hahaha! In fairness, bagay sila, ha!

O siya, segue na tayo sa Wheel of Fortune ni Kris Aquino tuwing 6 p.m. before TV Patrol World sa Primetime Bida ng Dos.

Dahil napansin ang acting ni Agot Isidro sa Lobo, nakatakda itong maglaro sa nasabing game show.

Mismo, umiikot na nga ang kapalaran ng showbiz career nitong si Agot.

Tekaaa, isa kaya sa magiging kasama nitong si Agot habang naglalaro sa Wheel of Fortune ay ’yung puting aso?

If ever, kapag win galore ang Agot ng milyones sa pagpapaikot ng wheel, may tumulo kayang luha sa isang mata ng aso, as in, tears of joy for Agot?

Yezzz, tulad ng ginawa nitong eksena kung saan naging taong lobo si Agot at hintakot na nilayuan ito ni Bobby Andrews, na sa istorya ay mahal na mahal ni Agot?

Tiket sa Ol 4 Luv Valentine concert tonight nagkaubusan

sold out na ang tiket sa Ol 4 Luv Valentine concert na gaganapin tonight sa Araneta Coliseum. From a source, naikuwento nito sa amin na nu’ng last week ay mahigit 2,000 na lang daw ang natitirang tiket na puwedeng mabili ng gustong makapanood ng concert.

Bongga naman kung ganu’n, huh!

Kunsabagay, bongga naman talaga at pinaghandaan nang husto ang concert na ito kaya marami ang nag-aabang.

First time na magsasama-sama sa isang major event ang Romantic Balladeer at Asia's Pop Idol Christian Bautista, Ultimate Champion Rachelle Ann Go, Prince of Pop Erik Santos at Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo!

Kung lahat ay sabik manood ng ASAP Live, pano pa kaya ang konsiyertong ito na gaganapin sa Araneta Coliseum? Mas malaki! Mas nakaka in love! Mas maraming sorpresa!
