As early as an hour before the sale started, eager shoppers were already waiting in line at the ABS-CBN compound for the 10am opening of Kris Aquino's clothing sale. Everyone was eager to get first dibs on Kris's coveted designer clothing from top local designers and foreign brands. There were lots of Pepsi Herrera, Edwin Tan, Rajo Laurel and JC Buendia dresses at unbelievably marked down prices ranging from P800 to P1,500, depending on whether you got a formal top, a cocktail dress or a ful-length gown. More casual tops and pants from pricey brand names Mango, Topman and Jessica were priced from P500-P800.

Now on its fourth yearly run, this year's sale proceeds will go to two of Kris's chosen charities this year, World Vision and Bantay Kalikasan. Unlike last year when shoppers were limited to buying only 2 to 3 pieces per person (in order to accomodate everyone), this year's sale did not limit the number of items you want to buy.

According to a sale organizer, "The average purchase today was 3 to 5 items per buyer." Although a far cry from the record 31 dresses one fashionista was able to accumulate last year, today's sale was still considered a success because of the diverse range of shoppers who came to see the designer goodies. From ABS-CBN employees, fashionistas, loyal Krissy fans to the devout TV followers, one of which included an obstetrician from Mindoro. Nakita ko na rin teaser ng Marrying A Millionaire...sa Primetime Bida raw so papalit nga siguro sa SpringWaltz.

Last year pa yung pinakita ang teaser ng Marrying a Millionaire. Matagal-tagal na rin parang noong June 2007. Pero Spring Waltz ang ipinalabas. May Filipino theme song ba ito sa teaser?

When Lolita Solis made the first scam ever sa daigdig ng showbiz, she was but a mere agent to some of the big stars where she doesn’t received any komisyon out of a done deal but abut-abot only.

When that scam was done, almost all the big stars she was making-ahente for deserted her, disown her, ikinahiya siya and condemned not only her act but Lolit herself -- kaya nag-suicide ang *** and landed at the Cardinal Santos hospital -- na ewan ko nowadays kung true ba ‘yun o isang fundraising event pa rin para makapang-harbat pa rin siya?

Ang kunu-kunong pagtalikod sa kanya ng mga big stars na ipinag-aahente pa rin niya hanggang ngayon were actually rallying behind her naman.

Napatunayan namin ito nung matapos ang kaso ay nagbalikan lahat kay Lolita ang mga stars na ito at parang isang pamilya sila uli na nagyakapan at nagdatungan!

Lingid sa kaalaman ng marami (except me na bukung-buko ang ***!) ay magaling na aktres si Lolita. She knows how to draw sympathy for herself. Kaya nga nung kasagsagan ng scam ay nagkaisa ang iba’t ibang managers na hindi rin naman magkakasundo at nagsusulutan at nagsisiraan ng kani-kanyang talents na hawak, na bumuo ng isang asosasyon ng mga talent managers bilang pagsuporta sa babaeng scam-mera.

Kaya naitatag ang PAMI -- short for Professional Artists Managers, Inc.
Kilalang no-nonsense mayor itong si Alfredo Lim nung siya ang mayor ng maganap ang filmfest scam. Hindi kinunsinti ni Mayor Lim ang ginawa ni Lolit and he left the decisions to the proper court nag-trial at lahat.

One star turned against each other no matter what, que boypren, bespren or whatever, witnesses sina Gretchen Barretto, Nanette Medved, Gabby Concepcion against Lolita and Ruffa Gutierrez.

Mistulang naiwang mag-isa sa laban niya si Lolit, kaya parang napunta sa kanya ang simpatya, kasi pitted against the po*werful Mayor Lim, Lolita was helpless anyway you look at it.

Kaya para namang nakisimpatiya sa kanya ang GMA-7, binigyan siya ng sariling talkshow in “Startalk” na until now, going strong pa rin sa ere, naging senador na si Mayor Lim, natapos na ang termino at balik sa pagiging mayor uli ng Maynila, nandiyan pa rin ang talkshow ni Lolit, na ilang beses na ring nagpalit ng co-hosts from Boy Abunda & Kris Aquino to Rosanna Roces & Butch Francisco to Lorna Tolentino -- ratsada pa rin sa ere ang “Startalk” na may Joey de Leon pa ngayon! Is that a long 12-years na ba?

Heto at balik na uli sa pagka-mayor ng Maynila ang idol naming si Alfredo Lim (ang pagkakakilala namin ni Mayor Lim ay dates back nung nasa NBI pa siya at assistant niya ang naging senador din mula sa DILG na idol din naming si Robert Barbers da best!) at si Lolit, balik naman sa Manila court na may bagong demanda courtesy of my Papa Piolo.

Now the big question mark. Alin ang mamamayani naman this time: power or popularity?

There’s no doubt that my Papa Piolo is that popular (courtesy of Juday and me! -- walang kakurap-kurap ‘yan, ha!) and Lolit is that “powerful” already.

After over a decade of Startalk, she has spread her long arms of harbat here and there kaya marami na siyang sponsors.

Sadya naman yatang sinusuwerte itong nanay ng sangkatutak na ang mga aso sa bahay niya, (over 50 ang count, huh!), nademanda man siya ng libel nina Papa Piolo at Sam, kung bakit naman natiyempo sa kaso niya ‘yung de-criminalization (ba ang tawag doon?) ng libel at multa na lang daw ang parusa, wala nang incarceration kaya hindi na papasok sa selda sa Mun*ting Lupa ang Lolita!

Eh, kung multa lang naman ang parusa diyan, naku, may mga alaga ng senador at iba’t ibang ma*yors si Lolita, may Maryann Opeña pa siya sa Los Angeles, milyones man ang hinging damage nina Piolo at Sam, kayang-kayang ipag-fundraising ni Lolita ‘yan and in the end, eh baka tumubo pa siya out of the donations na papasok, noh!

Kaya hayun ang *** and tila she waived her court appearance, kaya nadismaya daw ang Papa Piolo ko nung ‘di umapir sa korte si Lolita, kasi nga nasa Barcelona, Spain siya, enjoying her wealth and donations! Tour-to-the-max ang *** at ewan kung nagsimba siya sa Prague o Rome, kinaray pa si Tina Paner, para makalibre nang husto sa travel.

Libel cases take at least 10-years sa hearing, in and out of the court month after months at hindi na sikat ang Papa Piolo ko, umektsit na sila ni Sam sa showbiz, ongoing pa tiyak ang hearing sa kaso.

By the time, lalabas ang decision ng korte, tiyak na nasa day care center na nagtatrabaho ang papa ko, perhaps with the assistance of Sam Milby pa.
Kundi ba naman ipinanganak na may kakambal na suwerte itong dating purita ng saan-nga-ba-‘yun Ogie Diaz?

The one on the losing end sa kasong ito ay ang Papa Piolo ko. Never mind Sam, tutal ‘di rin naman marunong lumingon sa nakaraan niya ang manager nitong si Erick Raymundo, noh! Tigas-leeg din naman yan, eh!

Feeling sikat din? Patakaran kasi sa showbiz: You don’t bite the hand that feed you. Gusto ng publiko ‘yung artistang inaapi, here they can throw in their sympathy. Palagi silang kampi sa underdog na katulad nila. Ang artista thrives on the sympathy and support of the public, ayaw nila sa artistang astang-powerful at mang-aapi. Dapat artista ang inaapi -- hindi ‘yung naghihiganti sa mga taong kabilang sa mundong pinasok niya.

I don’t know kung sino ang adviser ng Papa Piolo ko. Sana hindi na uma*bot sa ganito ang usapin. Hayan tuloy at ngayon pa lang ay hinuhusgahan na ang Papa Piolo ko na l-u-m-o-b-o na ang ulo!

And again, the big question: Power or popularity? Lolit and Piolo has both.

And so, who will win the game? Your guess might not be as good as mine, huh!

Nagsalita na si Anabelle Rama sa mainit na isyu ng pag-uugnay sa anak niyang si Richard Gutierrez kay KC Concepcion matapos ang napabalitang break-up nina KC at direk Lino Cayetano noong isang buwan.

Hot topic pa rin sa mga blog at Internet forum ang isyung KC at Richard, ang pagkikita nila noong isang taon sa Paris at kung paano umano nakaapekto kay Lino ang closeness nina KC at Richard.

Kilig din ang fans sa posibleng pagtatambal ng dalawa.

Iwas naman si Richard sa isyu, lalo at kakahiwalay lang niya sa modelong si Georgina Wilson.

"Pinapalaki na lang ng media ‘yon pero magkaibigan lang kami," ani Richard.

Dedma rin sana si Anabelle sa kaarawan ng mga showbiz columnist na sina Ian Fariñas at Joe Barrameda. Pero hindi na siya nakaiwas sa ambush interview sa elevator.

"Walang magseselos, I'm single and happy... Lino is a very good friend of mine," ani KC.

At tungkol naman kay Richard at ang kanyang right man: "When the right man comes, and I know that it will go very far then maybe I'll be more open to the press."

Susubaybayan pa kung ipaiimbita ni Anabelle si KC kay Richard sa Valentine's show na produced niya tampok sina AiAi de las Alas at Ogie Alcasid.

Pero tiyak namang aabangan ang special guesting ni KC sa "Maalaala Mo Kaya" sa February 16 katambal si Derek Ramsey.

May natatangi din siyang TV project.

"Marami na naman kayong makikitang lugar at makikilalang maraming tao. Ako rin excited na excited," ani KC.

MANILA, Philippines—Daphne Oseña-Paez has resigned from the QTV 11 show “Proudly Filipina” which was launched July last year.

In an e-mailed statement and phone interview, Paez told Inquirer Entertainment that she was leaving the show with a heavy heart. “It’s such a wonderful, intelligent... show,” she said, adding that she received “so much support … from the staff and management of QTV” for two seasons.

She had quit to focus on her role as mom to four-year-old Sophia and one-year-old Lily, she said.

Insiders said the show would be re-launched this week with a big female star as host.

Sister company ng GMA 7 ang QTV 11 kaya Kapuso na rin si Charlene Gonzales dahil ito na ang bagong host ng Proudly Filipina. Ikinuwento sa amin ni Melo Esguerra (program manager ng QTV 11) na hindi siya nahirapan na makipag-negotiate kay Charlene nang ialok niya ang hosting job sa programa na iniwanan ni Daphne Osena.

Nagulat pa siya nang malaman niya na pamilyar na pamilyar si Charlene sa Proudly Filipina dahil regular viewer siya ng nabanggit na TV show.

Dun sa lumabas na kuwentong nag-walkout si Direk Chito Roño sa shooting ng ginagawa nitong pelikula ni Sharon Cuneta dahil palaging late ang megastar at kung dumating man siya nang maaga ay puro naman siya kuwento ay sumagot si Sharon.

Napakahaba ng mensahe sa amin ng megastar, detalyado ang kanyang sagot, pero ang pinakabuod nun ay ang kanyang pagsasabi na sa loob nang dalawampu’t pitong taon niya sa pag-aartista at tatlumpung taon naman na pagiging recording artist ay NEVER siyang nagpakapal ng mukha na abalahin ang kanyang mga kasama sa trabaho nang dahil lang sa kanyang personal na interes.

Nagtataka tuloy si Sharon kung sino ang nagpalutang ng ganung kuwento, meron daw yatang gustong manira at sumabotahe sa kanya para matapos nila nang maayos ang pelikula, at natutuwa rin niyang binanggit na pagkatapos nang apat na taon niyang pansamantalang pamamahinga sa paggawa ng pelikula ay maganda na agad ang mga komentong naririnig niya mula sa mga staff na rushes pa lang ang napapanood.

Sa kabila ng kanyang tatlong dekada na sa showbiz kung saan dapat ay matibay na siya sa mga intriga ay nauunawaan namin ang pagiging balat-sibuyas pa rin ng megastar.

Kahit pa sinasabing pinatibay na ng panahon ang kanyang puso at kalooban ay tao pa rin si Sharon, hindi naman siya manikin, kaya kapag may mga ganung isyung lumilitaw ay nagiging manipis siya.

Pero positibo pa rin ang pananaw namin sa ganung senaryo, nasa gitna pa rin ng labanan ang megastar, may panahon pa rin ang maraming tao para pagpistahan siya at nagiging laman pa rin siya ng mga pahayagan.

Sa kabila ng pamamahinga niya sa paggawa ng pelikula at telebisyon lang muna ang koneksiyon niya sa publiko ay may asim pa rin si Sharon, megastar pa rin siya, marami nang nagtangkang habulin ang kanyang kasikatan pero wala pa ring nakadidikit man lang sa mga nagawa at napatunayan na niya.

Sa halip na intindihin niya ang mga kuwentong umiikot ngayon ay mas maganda kung mas paghuhusayan pa niya ang pag-arte, kailangang patunayan niya na hindi kinalawang ang pagiging aktres niya sa loob nang apat na taon ng kanyang pamamahinga, dahil dun siya huhusgahan sa kanyang pagbabalik.

Ang pinakamasakit para sa isang artista ay yung siya na mismo ang gumagawa ng dahilan para siya mapag-usapan, pero hindi siya pinapatulan, bingi ang mga tsismosa at bulag ang mga manunulat para ikuwento sa publiko ang ingay na gusto niyang gawin.

KC makes acting debut in Maalaala

FLASH: KC Concepcion has finally agreed to star in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)?, ABS-CBN’s top-rating and award-winning drama series hosted by Charo Santos-Concio, aired Friday nights. This “scoop” was relayed to Funfare by an ABS-CBN executive who said that the story is perfect for KC: A riches-to-rags melodrama. KC has starred in ABS-CBN specials and hosted some shows but the MMK episode is her first real acting role. Being eyed as her leading man is Derek Ramsay, with Jerry Sineneng as director. Shooting will start first week of February.

“Ang daming congratulatory remark, maganda ang feedback. Ang daming nag-e-mail, nag-text, lahat sila, napakaganda ng sinasabi sa Lobo, so, saan ka pa?” say pa ng staff.

Napanood ko kanina sa TV Patrol.. si Mike Enriquez pala ung tinuturo na nasa likod ng manipulation ng ratings.. tsk. tsk... kelangan ba tlga nila gumawa ng mg dirty tactics para maging no. 1 daw kuno sila.. pinagmamalaki pa nila ha.. di tlaga ako naniniwala sa ratings.. dahil di naman ratings ang batayan na mas magaling and maganda ung programs.. nasa quality pa rin un.. buti na lng tlaga may ABS CBN na nakakapagprovide sa veiwers ng mga good quality shows.. kaya GO GO GO lng mga Kapamilya..

War between talent manager and her talent

By: Nel Alejandrino MAY problema na naman ba between a talent manager and her talent? Kung before ay always visible ang talent manager sa kahit na anong showbiz occasion involving her talent, ngayon, sa several presscons that involved the latter, the talent manager was nowhere to be found.

Kung sabagay, this is not the first time that this talent manager and talent have experienced a falling out of sorts.

But they were able to resolve their differences in the past.

Ngayon daw, it looks like the talent is ready to sever ties with her talent manager. But then, she isn’t saying anything to explain why... muna.

Hindi pa man kasi ipinapanganak ng aktres ang batang ipinagbubuntis, kung anu-ano nang intriga ang kumakalat. Totoo nga ba na kaya siya hindi sinisipot ng nobyo ay dahil pinagdududahan umano ng aktor na hindi siya ang ama ng batang dinadala ng aktres?

Balitang ni pangangailangan ng isang ordinaryong buntis ay hindi na ibinibigay ng nobyo.

Marami tuloy ang nagtatanong kung baka raw totoo ang duda ng nobyo na hindi sa kanya ang na ipinagbubuntis ng aktres.

Hindi naman yata ito fair para sa aktres. Dapat ay kausapin niya ang nobya at liwanagin kung ano ang totoo. Hindi ‘yung basta na lang niya itong iwanan.

Hindi na kami magbibigay ng clue kung sino ang pares na aming tinutukoy. Pareho silang kontrobersyal kaya alam niyo na ‘yan.

Making on an iconic role long associated with a legendary actor can be a daunting assignment for any young thespian.

Claudine plays the part originally played on film by Susan Roces in ABS-CBN’s remake of "Maligno," a horror series about the philosophies of anti-Christ. She admits its a challenge, but she also considers it an honor.

It was for "Maligno" where Susan won her second FAMAS best actress award in 1978, that’s why the project appears to be a formidable assignment for Claudine. The 28-year-old actress has started taping for the forthcoming series. It is the second presentation in ABS-CBN’s "Susan Roces Cinema Collection," following "Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara," with Kris Aquino.

At the helm of the remake of "Maligno" for television is Wenn Deramas, who directs his first horror series. He previously worked with Claudine in the fantaserye, "Marina," where she played a mermaid.

Claudine took time off from her career when she got pregnant and delivered her first baby with husband Raymart Santiago. Claudine gave birth through normal delivery last July 19, a day short of her and Raymart’s shared birthdays. The baby’s name, Rodrigo Santino, has to start with the letter "R" in keeping with the Santiago family’s tradition of giving all their children names that begin with "R." The actress insists she and Raymart will wait for another four or five years before having another baby.

Now that Santino is six months old, Claudine is raring to return to work . She lost no time in shedding those post-natal pounds so she can face the cameras again – thanks to the procedures she underwent with the Belo clinic. She was back in top form in only a few months.

"It feels like it’s been a very long time since I last worked," she said. "I’m happy now that I’m back to acting again. I’m thankful to ABS-CBN for giving me a new TV assignment. This should be doubly demanding for me because horror is altogether different from drama. And the most important thing is that I have to live up to the expectations of Tita Susan."

Claudine’s role in "Maligno" is that of a girl who gets raped by the devil and gives birth to his son. Her rape scene alone is something that viewers should look forward to, a production insider said.

The devil in "Maligno" is played by Rafael Rosell, who was earlier paired with Claudine in "Marina."

Claudine is thankful that her husband Raymart has given his full support to her TV comeback. Whenever possible, Raymart brings their children – Sabina and Santino – to the set of "Maligno," so Claudine can spend quality time with them.

She says her private life seems to be falling into place. She has patched up her feud with sister Gretchen and they got to spend Christmas together with their family. The Barretto sisters now get to bond regularly and make it a point to see each other and chat over lunch or merienda.

She also received a priceless Christmas present which came through a court decision making adopted daughter Sabina officially a Santiago.

Meanwhile, baby Santino is already receiving offers to appear in TV ads with his mother. The proud mom says the offers came pouring in even before she gave birth. So far, they have given their nod to a milk product. She stressed, however, that the prospect of their son being in showbiz is a different matter that will require serious discussion when Santino gets older. "If he wants to get into showbiz, then we won’t stop him. After all, it’s in his blood," she says.

Raymart is very protective of the children, says Claudine. He even drives three-year-old Sabina to nursery school himself.

Claudine and Raymart will mark their second wedding anniversary this year. The significant date also marks the wedding anniversary of Raymart’s parents, Pablo and Cielito Santiago.

Mukhang matutuloy na rin ang launching movie ni Sarah Geronimo na matagal nang pinaplano ng Viva Films. The latest we heard ay nakikipag-negotiate na ang Viva big boss na si Vic del Rosario sa Star Cinema for a joint venture.

Matatandaang parating nauudlot ang launching flick dahil na rin sa hectic schedule ni Sarah. Naging busy rin kasi ang Pop Princess sa mga concert here and abroad kaya naapektuhan ang matagal na dapat nasimulang pelikula.

Tatapusin lang ni Sarah ang concert sa U.S. and Canada ngayoing Marso kasama ang Champions at pagbalik niya, baka raw matuloy na ang pelikula.

Starting Thursday next week is the replacement for Magpakailanman (na isang alaala na lang:D ) , ang suspense-drama anthology na ESP. Starring Iza with Alfred Vargas, Francine Prieto, Marco Alcaraz, Pen Medina, Patricia Ismael, Nonie Buencamino and the return of Liza Lorena sa Grocery Channel after a five year absence from the Kapus network, it is from the same production and creative team of Magpakailanman(na isang alaala na lang:D ).

Just like the US show Ghost Whisperer, it will tackle the supernatural as Iza plays an ambitious reporter who had a near-death encounter at magmula noon, nakakakita na siya ng mga taong namatay na.

We saw the pilot with Eula Valdez as a special guest at mukhang nakata-takot ang ESP at punumpuno ito ng mga nakabibiglang eksena .

Magsisimulang ipalabas ang ESP sa Huwebes occupying the same timeslot of Magpakailanman (na isang alaala na lang:D )ni Mel "Ampalaya Queen" Tiangco after GMA TeleBobo.

Former RGMA employees tag Mike Enriquez in TV ratings fraud

Two former officers of RGMA radio stations in Iloilo said RGMA president Miguel "Mike" Enriquez knew about and was directly involved in covert operations to manipulate results of TV ratings surveys in Bacolod and Iloilo.

Romie Diamanse, former program director and OIC-station manager of Campus Radio (an FM radio station owned and operated by GMA Network, Inc.) for RGMA in Iloilo, and Francis Casumpang, also a former program director of Campus Radio, both told ABS-CBN's TV Patrol World about Enriquez's alleged involvement in ratings manipulation.

According to Diamanse, Enriquez himself presided over meetings discussing underground efforts to manipulate results of TV ratings surveys in favor the GMA Network programs in radio and TV.

He added that in order to manipulate ratings results, Enriquez assigned field coordinators of GMA Network-owned radio stations to seek out households included in the pool of panel homes chosen by AGB-Nielsen Media Research Philippines.

AGB Nielsen panel homes have meters wired into their TV sets to track which channels are being watched at certain times. Data gathered from the panel homes form the basis for surveys measuring which channels and programs are most preferred by viewers.

Diamanse and Casumpang said that their field operators offered to give panel homes with P500 cash and grocery items each month, if they tuned in to GMA Network programs at specific times during the day in order to improve those programs' ratings in the AGB Nielsen survey.

These efforts to bribe panel homes were referred to as "special operations", according to Diamanse and Casumpang.

"Hindi lang yung radio, yung DYSI sa amin eh, GMA radio or Campus Radio Iloilo ‘yong dapat pinapakinggan niyo dapat ‘yong TV station din dapat GMA-6. They just tell me okay na dun, okay na kahit sa TV sa atin na," said Casumpang.

(It was not just radio, which is DYSI, GMA radio or Campus Radio Iloilo that we tried to convince panel homes to switch to; we also included the TV station which is GMA-6. They would tell me when everything was already okay in a certain area, when we were able to change ratings data.)

According to the two former RGMA employees, the so-called "special operations" were conducted along with legitimate promotional activities. Both efforts, one out in the open and the covert one, received budget allocations for operating expenses.

They said that the legitimate promotional activities targeted known loyal viewers of GMA Network programs. These promotional activities included giving away gifts to these viewers, including canned goods, soap, noodles and rice.

They added that the legitimate promotional efforts were allocated P30,000 as monthly budget. However, more resources were given to the special operations.

They said that P150,000 to P200,000 were spent monthly on renting jeeps and fuel costs. The budget also covered allowances and cellcards for spotcheckers and runners, as well as bribes for survey company insiders.

The also revealed that the special operations targeted survey areas during periods when a survey was being conducted.

"Kung meron ngang tao na medyo considered leader in a specific or identified survey area, bibilhin natin yan kahit magkano. He can name or she can name his or her price basta he or she can assure na magiging number one tayo sa area niya," said Casumpang.

Nielsen to Recalculate Boston H-A Ratings

In what may go down as one of the biggest fumbles of the local people meter era, Nielsen will have to recalculate and reprocess the Boston ratings from Jan. 1 to Jan. 9 for Hearst-Argyle Television's WCVB and WMUR. It's the second time in less than a month that Nielsen had to inform clients that its ratings were not accurate.

According to a client notice dated Jan. 23, Nielsen blamed a combination of factors, including a malfunctioning of Nielsen's "active" station encoder and simultaneous failure of the "passive" monitoring system. As a result, audiences to WCVB were understated and ratings to WMUR, which only covers 17 percent of the Boston DMA, were overstated.

Hearst-Argyle first noticed there might be a problem with the accuracy of its ratings on Jan. 2. After lengthy investigation by both Hearst-Argyle and Nielsen, Nielsen admitted on Jan. 8 that its meters failed to properly credit viewing for three Patriots games simulcast on WCVB and ESPN, one in 2006 and two in 2007. Now it turns out the problem was more widespread than originally thought.

"Today I can repeat and paraphrase my recent observation regarding NSI's major corrections to ratings on WCVB, of three Patriots/ESPN simulcast games. It turns out the ratings of WCVB in early January that were unbelievable are, in fact, not to be believed," said Bill Fine, president and general manager of WCVB, in a statement released Thursday.

Nielsen will reprocess ratings for both live and live-plus-seven-day data streams and provide the recalculated ratings to all clients that subscribe to data in the Boston DMA, including advertisers and third party software providers.

To right the ratings going forward, Nielsen fixed the software that was effecting the clock on the encoders and switched WCVB to a different media monitoring site that can better track reference codes. The research firm also said it "developed a plan that will make it possible for us to identify such situations sooner."

Fixing the technical issues may be easier than restoring the industry's confidence in the ratings. "I still need a comfort zone from Nielsen as to how they recapture our ratings and how we can have confidence in the ratings going forward," Fine said.

The error has already been a costly one for WCVB, which couldn't sell inventory at higher rates and found itself giving bonus weight to advertisers that turned out to be unnecessary.

Just how many other stations face the same fate as Hearst-Argyle remains to be seen.

Stations in Nashville and Denver have also reported problems and question the accuracy of the ratings.

Enriquez denies ex-RGMA employees’ statements

Enriquez who is also a radio broadcaster and GMA TV news anchor however denied allegations that he presided in a meeting to hire agents to conduct "special operations" aimed at manipulating results of TV ratings surveys in Iloilo.

Enriquez reiterated GMA Network's previous statement insisting that it has never engaged in any effort to underhanded effort to influence panel homes in their viewing choices.

Erniquez is one of the lead anchors for GMA Network's primetime newscast "24 Oras". He also has a radio program as well as a TV program featuring investigative reports.

Below is Enriquez's official statement in full:

"I would like to reiterate GMA Network's stand that it has never conducted any special operation to manipulate the TV and radio ratings in its favor, contrary to the allegations made by former RGMA Iloilo employees Romie Diamanse and Francis Casumpang.

"I also vehemently deny presiding in any meeting with Casumpang regarding ratings manipulation and/or special operations in Iloilo.

"This alleged meeting could not have happened because both Diamanse and Casumpang were employed with RGMA Iloilo when there was still no NUTAM ratings for TV in Iloilo. The sole basis for TV ratings at that time was the PSRC day-after recall survey, which uses no panel meters.

"These allegations are calculated and orchestrated to besmirch the repuation of broadcasters like me, and are an insult to the intelligence of the millions of viewers who place their trust in us."

ABS-CBN has filed a lawsuit against AGB Nielsen Media Research over the issue of ratings manipulation and the latter's refusal to stop ratings survey despite the discovery of tainted results.

GMA Network on the other hand has filed a P12 million libel case against ABS-CBN reporters and officials. GMA Network is accusing ABS-CBN of airing malicious and untrue reports portraying it as the source of efforts to manipulate ratings.

MAHAL pa rin ni Richard Gutierrez ang ka-loveteam niya noon na si Angel Locsin, kahit nasa ABS-CBN na ito nga*yon. Sa presscon ng My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend, tumanggi siya na ikumpara sina Angel at ang bago niyang kapareha na si Marian Rivera.

Ayaw rin niyang magsalita kung sino sa dalawa ang mas maganda. Palagi ring iginigiit ni Richard na kaibigan niya si Angel, at ayaw niyang magsalita lalo na kung ikau-offend nito.

Pero, nirerespeto raw niya ang opinion ni Mother Lily Monteverde nung sabihin nito na mas maganda si Marian kay Angel, dahil mas maputi ito.
Para kay Richard, hawig sina Angel at Ma*rian. Pareho raw sweet ang dalawa.

Siyanga pala, nagkita sina Angel at Richard sa eroplano mula sa Cebu. Nagpaliwanag daw si Angel sa kanya tungkol sa pagkakasabay ng mga show nila, ang Kamandag at Lobo.

Sabi raw ni Angel, hindi raw niya alam na itatapat ang Lobo sa Kamandag.
Hindi itinanggi ni Richard na nagulat siya sa pagtatapat ng show nila ni Angel. Kaya sabi pa ni Richard, mas naiintindihan na niya ang kahulugan ng network war. Pero, giit pa rin ni Richard, kahit nag-aaway ang mga istasyon nila, hindi raw paaapekto ang friendship nila.

Angel Locsin is very evasive when asked about the real score between her and Luis Manzano. Maybe because this could adversely affect her team up with Piolo Pascual in "Lobo."

"We’re happy," she says. "Pero hindi kami. Masaya lang kami na we got to know each other. Kasi mahihirapan na naman ako sa time ko, eh pareho naman kaming mas priority namin ang trabaho. We do go out, I don’t deny that naman. So enjoy lang kami sa gano’ng sitwasyon. We’re just friends."

So will they be each other’s date on Valentine’s Day?

"I don’t know. Ako, may taping for ‘Lobo.’ Naka-block off na ‘yon so I really have to work," Angel says. "Pero kung magyaya siya to go out after that, why not? We’re both single naman, ‘di ba?"

Can she say that Luis is the guy who’s closest to her now? "Siguro. But I’m also close naman to PJ (Piolo) na hindi ko lang katrabaho sa ‘Lobo’ kundi also a good friend na nakaka-share ko when I have a problem," she says.

When it comes to work, Angel tells, "It’s a great experience. Marami na siyang acting awards and he is able to guide me well in interpreting my role in ‘Lobo.’"

We then turned to Piolo about her working relationship with Angel. "She’s so down to earth at hindi maarte kaya masarap katrabaho and easy to get along with. Also, level-headed siya. Despite her success, her feet remain firmly planted on the ground. Her values haven’t changed at all." Piolo says. "Also, as an actress, napansin ko sa workshop pa lang namin that she knows her craft, so when we do a scene, we explore together kung paano mas mapapaganda. We get along fine kasi pareho kaming devoted sa trabaho. Makikita rin on screen na maganda ang chemistry namin as Noah and Lyka, the lead characters in ‘Lobo.’ Very credible ang pagkaka-develop pati sa aming love story dito kaya sure akong viewers will like it."

Anyway, pati sa eroplano’y nagkaroon din ng Kapuso at Kapamilya “moment” dahil nagkasabay sa 5 a.m. Saturday flight papuntang Iloilo ang executive ng Siyete na si Marivin Arayata at ilang artista ng Dos, led by Angel.

Actually, hindi inaasahan ni Marivin na makakasabay niya ang grupo nina Angel. Eh, mag-isa pa naman daw siyang bumiyahe dahil nagkasakit kaya nire-book ang ticket.

Maraming naka-witness sa paglapit at pagbeso ng aktres sa TV exec sabay dialogue ng, “Hi, Tita, kumusta na?”

In fairness, hindi naman siya inisnab ni Marivin, bagkus ay tinanong pa nito kung kasama ba niya ang manager na si Becky Aguila.

Si Becky daw kasi ang unang lumapit kay Marivin nu’ng aksidente rin silang magkita sa Sinulog Festival sa Cebu City kamakailan.

’Kaaliw naman ang tsika ng isang source tungkol sa isinagawang parada ng iba’t ibang tribe ng city government sa Freedom Park.

‘Lobo,’ wagi sa nationwide ratings? By: Vinia Vivar MASAYANG-MASAYA ang ABS-CBN sa ipinakikitang performance ni Angel Locsin sa Lobo. Malaki raw ang in-improve ng aktres in terms of acting.

“Ngayon, pati mata niya, nakaaarte, ang laki talaga ng improvement,” say ng Star TV people.

Kaya naman, nakaplano na raw ang mga project ni Angel sa ABS-CBN at Star Cinema.

“Sunud-sunod na ’yan, ang dami niyang gagawin dito because she deserves it. Angel is working so hard at nami-meet niya ang expectations namin,” say pa ng aming kausap.

Tungkol sa mga detractor ni Angel, dedma na lang daw ang young actress sa sunud-sunod na namang bira sa kanya.

Somehow ay ini-expect na rin daw nilang lahat ang mga negatibong reaksyon sa first project sa Kapamilya Network ng aktres.

May nais nga lang palang linawin ang Star TV hinggil sa issue ng ratings ng Lobo pilot episode.

“Kasi, ang pinalulutang nila lagi ay ang ratings sa Mega Manila . But ’yung ratings sa NUTAM (Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement), which is buong Pilipinas ang sakop, panalo ang Lobo ru’n. Pero, nababanggit ba nila? Siyempre, hindi,” paliwanag ng Star TV executive.

Actually, ang staff pa raw ng GMA-7 ang nag-text sa kanila ng ratings ng NUTAM noong pilot since hindi na nga raw nagsu-subscribe ang ABS-CBN sa ratings.

“Nag-text sa amin ang isang source from GMA-7 at ang sabi niya, panalo na naman daw kami at nakalagay nga sa text niya ang ratings.”

Base sa NUTAM data noong Lunes, nakakuha ng 36.5 percent ang Kung Fu Kids, 36.2 ang Lobo, 32 ang Palos at ang Marimar naman daw ay 28.1.

"We were never together," Sam Milby exclaimed when Entertainment Live host Toni Gonzaga asked him if he ever had a relationship with Palos actress Bangs Garcia.

Last month in one of the press conferences of Palos, Bangs (or Valerie in real life) claimed that the actor-commercial model became her boyfriend during their Close Up to Fame days when both of them were endorsers of the said toothpaste brand.

The young actress added that she went out on several dates with the Maging Sino Ka Man actor.

Although Sam confirmed that he went out with Bangs, the young actor strongly denied that there was a special relationship between him and Bangs.

In an interview aired in Entertainment Live yesterday, February 2, the young actor related what really happened. He said, "Bago ako pumasok sa [Pinoy Big Brother], parang we went out na dating for mga three weeks lang. And then, after three weeks na we were dating, she got to Close Up to Fame. So, pagkatapos noon, parang we just stop talking. And then, mga one week or two weeks later, I entered PBB."

After that, Sam agreed with what Bangs said during the press conference of Palos. He said, "We haven't talked that much even after the [PBB]."

Sam also said that he never courted Bangs. He explained, "Kasi at that time siyempre I came from the States so I don't know courtship na ganyan, dating parang ganyan."

Entertainment Live asked him if he now plans to continue courting Bangs. But Sam simply answered, "Hindi, wala talaga. That was almost three years ago,"

Kris to cut back on work

KRIS Aquino has gone through many changes in her life.

But at this point, what to her has been the biggest challenge in her life?

“The biggest change has been the realization that work isn’t the most important aspect of my existence. My husband and my two boys really need a lot of nurturing and that requires a lot of time. I’m realizing that as much joy I derive from working, nothing comes close to being with my two sons,” relates Kris at the press launch of her newest endorsement GynePro feminine wash Friday at Patio Ibarra on Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

What do you think will happen this year?

“There have been positive changes. I had high expectations for Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara, but I never thought it would become this big a success. Wheel of Fortune is a lot of fun, and I’m confident that the Filipino audience will really enjoy it,” says the TV host

She is also looking forward to baby James’ first step. Her son is able to stand up on his own. And she can’t wait until Baby James starts talking. “Josh is turning 13 in June. I can’t believe how fast my boys are growing up. That’s why for summer, I’m purposely cutting back on work and so that I can spend so much time with them as they deserve it,” says Kris.

Kris starts her day by reading devotionals, either by Joyce Meyer, the Women of Faith or Joel Osteen. She has made a consistent effort to keep her spiritual life healthy because she has come to realize that when she lets God lead the way, and she trusts in His love, things really fall into place.

“Life isn’t always easy or stress-free, but God just wants us to wait on His time, and when we learn to surrender, He has an easier time showering us with His blessings,” says the host of “Wheel of Fortune.”

Ngayon naman, MALIGNO ang target nila ha. Nagkataon lang ba na pareho ang papel ng starlet na si CLAUDINE BARRETTO at ng superstar na si IZA CALZADO sa upcoming SUSPENSE-DRAMA nila?

Parehong BROADCASTER/JOURNALIST ang dalawa..

Regine lilipat sa Dos?

ALAM kaya ni Regine Velasquez na nababalitang lilipat siya sa ABS-CBN and this year na raw ito?

Wala na kasing contract sa GMA-7 ang Songbird, kaya nagpu-float ang lipatan isyu at binabantayan na ng both Kapamilya at Kapuso fans ang mga susunod niyang move.

Kampante ang isang taga-Channel 7 na hindi lilipat si Regine, dahil ’di nito iiwan ang nobyong si Ogie Alcasid at may gagawin silang movie sa GMA Films (ang Love is Blind…and Deaf].

Saka, si Regine rin ang mag-aasikaso sa TV special ng boyfriend marking his 20 years in showbiz, magiging busy ito at hindi maiisip lumipat.

Iba ang 20/20 major concert ni Ogie sa Araneta Coliseum, sa September 27 ang TV special. Pero, posible siyang mag-guest sa ilang shows ng Channel 2, dahil may tie-up sa TFC ang European tour niya sa March.

Pinayagan na raw si Regine ng Channel 7 na mag-guest sa shows ng Channel 2 to promote her shows sa Europe.

Si Iza Calzado na nga ang pantapat ng GMA-7 kay Kris Aquino bilang horror queen.

Siya ang bida ng bagong suspence-thriller, horror-drama sa GMA-7 na titled E.S.P.

Kung matatandaan naging matagumpay sa takilya ang mga ginawang horror movies ni Iza tulad ng Sigaw, Blackout at Ouija (na balitang magkakaroon ng part 2).

Komento pa ng isang *****y press, ‘di hamak naman na mas magaling umarte ni Iza kesa kay Kris. Pero, nakikiusap si Iza na huwag siyang ikukumpara kay Kris, kasi napakabait daw ni Tetay sa kanya. Tuwing nagkikita raw sila ay si Kris daw ang unang bumabati sa kanya.

Talbog din kay Iza si Marian Rivera, kasi bukod sa isang weekly drama-anthology na ESP ay may Joaquin Bordado siya with Robin Padilla na araw-araw naman. Eh, Marimar lang ang regular show ni Marian sa Kapuso ngayon.

Again, ayaw maikumpara ni Iza kay Marian ka-si hindi raw siya nakiki-pagkumpitensya kahit kaninong artista.

Sa totoo lang, ang dami nang achievements ni Iza. Ginawaran din siya ng isang international award sa modelling sa Korea kamakailan lang at napili si-ya rito sa pamamagitan lang ng kanyang photos at local commercial endorsements.

Aba sa ganda at height ni Iza, puwede rin naman siyang maging isang supermodel.

anyone could pls share kung ano na nangyari dun sa PBBCE2 limited edition calendar? kc wala na kong nabasang update kung na sold-out sya dun sa araneta nung grand finale night. nagbakasakali nga ako sa NBS and filbar pero wala daw sila. nagpapabili sana ako nun sa umatend ng gabing yun pero wlang nagreply.

Pilit kaming kinukulit ng mga tanong tungkol sa nababalitang falling out ng controversial manager at talent na sina Becky Aguila at Angel Locsin. Una kaming nakatanggap ng text last week asking kung true ang tsismis na wala na si Angel sa pangangalaga ni Tita Becky.

Ang balita pa’y lilipat na sa Star Records and Management (STRAM) ni Malou Santos si Angel at ito na ang magma-manage sa kanya.Tumawag sa amin si Tita Becky, pero hindi niya itinanggi o kinumpirma ang isyu. Ayaw munang magsalita at mag-detalye ni Tita Becky tungkol dito.

USAP-USAPAN ngayon ang nagbabadyang paglipat daw ni Regine Velasquez sa ABS-CBN. Wala naman daw kasing kontrata si Regine sa GMA7 and so far, wala pa’ng nababalitang konspeto ng show na ibinibigay ang Kapuso network sa dyowa ni Ogie Alacasid. Dahil d’yan, libreng-libreng umapir si Regine sa ABS-CBN. This week, nakatakdang mag-taping si Regine para sa “Maalaala Mo Kaya” sa direksyon ng award-winning director na si Jeffrey Jeturian.

Malamang aani muli ng acting award si Regine for her performance sa episode na gagawin niya sa MMK. Almost ten years ago, matatandaan na nakuha ni Regine ang kanyang first major acting award mula sa Star Awards for Television’s Best Single Performance By An Actress dahil sa mahusay na pagganap niya sa episode ng “Maalaala Mo Kaya” na pinamagatang ‘Lobo.’ Sa
muling pagbabalik ni Regine sa MMK, for sure, bonggang-bongga ito. ukod kay Regine, nakatakda ring mag-taping for MMK si KC Concepcion sa kanyang first drama appearance on television. Ang maswerte at guwapong si Derek Ramsay ang makakapareha niya sa direksyon ng isa pa’ng batikang director ng MMK na si Jerry Sineneng.
Dito malalaman ang husay ni KC sa pag-arte bukod sa naipamalas niyang galling sa pagsayaw at pagkanta. Kabaliktaran ng rags-to-riches ang kwentong susuungin ni KC sa “Maalaala Mo Kaya” so, very challenging talaga ito for KC.

Sam Milby said in an exclusive interview of The Buzz that he is currently courting Anne Curtis in a godly way. Contrary to the actor’s previous statements that he does not believe in courtship, he is actually doing just that to Anne.

The actor also revealed that he and Anne have not yet talked for awhile since the last time they had a misunderstanding. According to Sam, both of them have shortcomings and that they both feel jealous at certain times and these jealousies sometimes lead to rifts.

Sam explained that if he would have his way, he wants to resolve the issue with Anne as soon as possible but the current situation now does not permit it because they are both busy with work.

The actor also made it clear that he and Toni Gonzaga, to whom he got linked before, were never together as an item. They had a mutual understanding for three months, and there was a point that they were getting there. Unfortunately, they were very concerned about their flourishing careers and their parents, which is why they never pushed through with the blossoming relationship that that they were having.

“She actually made the decision to separate, at naging friendship na lang,” explained Sam.

He also clarified Bangs Garcia’s recent claim that they were exclusively dating for three months when they were not famous yet.

“Hindi totoo, nag-date lang kami mga tatlong linggo,” explained the former PBB housemate.

Sam will star in a comedy movie this February 27 with Toni and Kristine Hermosa entitled ‘My Big Love.’

Starting Thursday next week is the replacement for Magpakailanman (na isang alaala na lang ) , ang suspense-drama anthology na ESP. Starring Iza with Alfred Vargas, Francine Prieto, Marco Alcaraz, Pen Medina, Patricia Ismael, Nonie Buencamino and the return of Liza Lorena sa Grocery Channel after a five year absence from the Kapus network, it is from the same production and creative team of Magpakailanman(na isang alaala na lang ).

Just like the US show Ghost Whisperer, it will tackle the supernatural as Iza plays an ambitious reporter who had a near-death encounter at magmula noon, nakakakita na siya ng mga taong namatay na.

We saw the pilot with Eula Valdez as a special guest at mukhang nakata-takot ang ESP at punumpuno ito ng mga nakabibiglang eksena .

Magsisimulang ipalabas ang ESP sa Huwebes occupying the same timeslot of Magpakailanman (na isang alaala na lang )ni Mel "Ampalaya Queen" Tiangco after GMA TeleBobo.

People who know Dennis Trillo say that he is more at peace with himself today – and it shows.

The actor admits na nagkamali daw siya noon pero ngayon, he says ever since nagkabati sila ni Carlene, parang naging OK na uli siya and he can visit his child anytime daw. Actually, walang limitasyon na daw ang kanyang pagdalaw…

When asked if he has any regrets with the whole brouhaha on Cristine Reyes and Carlene Aguilar, he admits na may pagkakamali siya with his actions and he has learned his lesson from it. At least, OK na din daw sila ni Cristine although they are not communicating as much, kahit sa text.

While he celebrated his birthday recently and is even riding on the publicity angle of him having something with Marian Rivera (to promote their Valentine movie), many people swear that Richard is really smitten with KC Concepcion!

The two were seen having an intimate dinner at a swanky restaurant in the Fort. "Bagay sila ha!" a lot of people commented.

Well, bagay din kaya ba si KC kay Derek Ramsey because the daughter of Sharon Cuneta is slated to do a Maalala Mo Kaya episode? talaga??? Alam ko ngang regular price for premiere/advance screenings ay 250 for international movie na yun ha.

Anyway yung kesyo malaking production cost pwede naman yung bawiin sa advertisements ah especially laging mataas daw ang rating nung MKM sa Mega so it shouldn't be a problem.

Ipinaliwanag ni Heart Evangelista sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kung bakit tila madalang na ang mga projects niya sa ABS-CBN. Ayon kay Heart, medyo mapili na siya sa mga tinatanggap niyang projects ngayon. Una na nga raw ay dahil sa health problem niya na sobrang pinag-iingatan nito ang tungkol sa kalusugan niya.

Secondly, sadya lang daw na kailangan na niyang busisiin yung mga project na makapagpaangat sa kanyang career.

"I still need to work now, but I would like to make sure, I am getting the right projects for me, hindi baleng konti lang, basta yung tama lang para sa akin. Ayoko nang basta-basta lang tatanggap if I know this would not help me grow," paliwanag ni Heart.

Importante raw kay Heart ang kanyang career. More than any other time in her career, ngayon na ang pinakaseryosong bahagi nito. Kung kailagan ngayong magtrabaho siya sa kabilang istasyon, gagawin niya basta lang magka-offer siya ng mgandang project.

"Why not, if it is worthy project, tatanggapin ko kahit sa GMA-7 pa," sabi ni Heart, na nagpaliwanag pang wala naman siyang kontrata ngayon sa ABS-CBN dahil per project basis lang siya ngayon sa Kapamilya network.

Lubos naman daw siyang nagpapasalamt ngayong nagkakamabutihan sila ng kanyang pamilya. Lalo na raw ng kanyang ama na matagal niyang nakahidwaan dahil sa mga problemang pampuso.

Ang tinutukoy namin ay yung pagsuway niya sa kagustuhan ng pamilya at hayagang ipinaglaban ang relasyon nila ni Jericho Rosales. "Now that were well, I hope this remains this way forever. I love my family so much that I don't know if I can still take another falling out with them. We are starting all over and I think, now is the right time to get closer. Sobrang nae-enjoy ko itong muli naming pagba-bonding," pagbabalita pa ni Heart.

Tanggap na ba ng pamilya niya si Jericho ngayong nagkaayos na sila ng kanyang pamilya?

"No, let it remain that way. Ayaw naming madaliin. If it comes late, it will come. But as of now, okay na sa akin itong situwasyon, they accepted me again at tama na muna yun," sabi pa ni Heart na kitang-kita ang kalungkutan dahil nga hindi pa tanggap ng pamilya si Jericho.

Nang si Jerciho naman ang tanungin tungkol sa isyung ito, sinabi niyang naiintindihan niya ang sitwasyon. Ang ikinatutuwa raw niya, heto na nga si Heart, muling nakasundo ang pamilya at gusto niyang ibigay yung mga moment na ganito kay Heart.

"Masaya ako, nagkasundo na sila. Yung sa akin at sa pamilya niya, huwag na lang 'yan anga pag-usapan. Hindi ba mas importante na sa wakas, nangyari na yung pare-pareho nilang gusto?" nakangiting sabi ni Jericho na lagi palang nakaabang kay Heart sa mga lakad nito.

GMA, ABS-CBN deny court request

THE GMA-7 Network Inc. and the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation yesterday junked the request of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to amicably settle the petition for a temporary restraining order so that they can move on to issues on the main complaint of P15-million damage suit against the ABS-CBN.

Before the start of the resumption of the hearing for TRO, Branch 95 Judge Henri Jean Paul Inting asked both parties if there is a possibility for them to just amicably settle the issue.

Inting has given GMA-7 legal counsel, Gener Asuncion and ABS-CBN legal counsel, Regis Puno time to confer about the court’s request but did not arrive at any compromise.

Puno said that he and Asuncion both agreed that they could ask their principals to stop the plugs and corporate communications but they could not agree on the issue to stop any legitimate stories regarding the controversies.

Atty. Asuncion, on the other hand, said that if they agreed for the amicable settlement, GMA would voluntarily stop from issuing statements regarding the issues.

After the possible settlement bogged down, the court resumed the hearing with the presentation of ABS-CBN’s witness, Johnny Aliguin, allegedly a former researcher of GMA TV 6 Iloilo, who earlier testified that he was hired in order to conduct survey and locate the AGB meters in Iloilo.

During the cross-examination conducted by Asuncion, Aliguin admitted that he has no contract with GMA TV 6 and was not issued an identification card when he was allegedly hired by its station manager, Johnny Cabillon in May. 2006.

Aliguin further testified that he received P6,200 a month as his salary and being delivered to him personally by Cabillon in a restaurant in Bacolod City.

When asked by the court if he knew that what was instructed to him by Cabillon was wrong, Aliguin admitted that he accepted the job since he needed money.

The testimony of Aliguin was already terminated and the ABS-CBN will still present three other witnesses during the resumption of the hearing today.

The GMA 7 filed the motion asking the court to order ABS-CBN to stop from repeating and airing over its radio and television network the defamatory statements which depict GMA 7 as the manipulator or the cause of manipulation of ratings in Bacolod City, Cebu,Davao and Iloilo.

The defamatory statements against the GMA 7 were aired on various TV programs of ABS-CBN on January 5, 6, 7 and 12 using an additional medium, convenient witnesses which it procured, pointing at GMA as persistently manipulating TV ratings in the cities of Cebu, Davao and Iloilo. Cory Martinez

kung iko-compare sa MMK eh wala talagang quality yung kanila...sa MMK bawat episode tumatatak sa mga viewers..kahit ilang taon na ang lumipas ay naaalala pa rin.

GEMMA FRITZGERALD
Isa si Gemma Fritzgerald sa Pinoy Dream Academy aspirants na naging kapamilya ng Star Magic. Ang half-Pinay at half Australian na si Gemma ay singer at dancer na laging kabilang sa mga ABS-CBN specials.

Katatapos lang ni Gemma na mag-pose para sa cover pictorial ng UNO magazine last year. Hindi naman mahirap kay Gemma ang ganitong mga pictorial basta’t importante namaganda ang pagkakagawa.

Malapit na rin siyang mag-pictorial para sa Maxim para sa summer issue kung saan kasama niya ang Koolchx. Nakatakda rin na magshow si Gemma kasama ang kanyang kapatid sa Ratskys. 22 years old na si Gemma noong Enero 1.

MELLISA RICKS
Isang engrandeng selebrasyon ng kaarawanni Melissa Ricks ang ginawa sa ASAP kamakailan. Ganap nang dalaga si Melissa. Naging kumpleto ang kanyang kaarawan nang magdaos siya ng isang charity sa Baliwag, Bulacan, kasama ang mga batang ulila sa Bethlehem Orphanage.

Ang unang teamup niya kay Matt Evans sa Pedro Penduko ang naging daan kung saan siya na-kilala bilang Reyna Hiyas. Nasundan pa ito ng ilang proyekto tulad ng Love Spell at Shake, Rattle and Roll.

Kasama rin siya sa comedy show na That’s My Doc bilang si Butching. Walong taon na siya noong Enero 10.

MIKEE LEE
Bukod sa pagiging dating PBB housemate, si Mikee Vincent Lee a.k.a. Mikee Lee ay isang achiever sa school. Kamakailan ay nakapasa siya sa UP at Ateneo kung saan kumuha siya ng exams para sa kolehiyo. Sa rami ng kumuha ng exams, pangalawa si Mikee sa Director’s List at nakakuha ng 99 percent na score sa lahat na subjects ng National Career Assessment Exam.

Sinubukan rin niyang kumuha ng SAT exam sa U.S. at naging isa sa 97% na estudyante na nakapasa. Honor student si Mikee at aktibo sa debate at Math team. Bukod sa pagiging achiever sa school, achiever rin si Mikee sa showbiz.

Wish niya ay malayo siya at ang kanyang pamilya sa anumang karamdaman. 13 years old na si Fraz noong Enero 12.

JASON ABALOS
Ilan lamang sa produkto ng talent search ang nanatili sa showbiz. May ilang hindi nanakikita sa TV o pelikula pero isa si Jason Abalos sa produkto ng Star Circle Quest na nanatili sa showbiz.

Maswerte siya dahil nagkaroon siya ng pagkakataon na makatrabaho ang mga kilalang pangalan sa industriya tulad nina Judy Ann Santos at Maricel Soriano.

Nakagawa na rin siya ng indie film na Endo kung saan napansin ang kanyang pag-arte. Na-nominate siya bilang Best Actor at naimbitahan na dumalo sa Nantes Film Festival sa France noong isang taon.

Mag-uumpisa na rin siyang gawin ang isang episode ng Your Song kasama sina Erich Gonzales at Heart Evangelista. 22 years old na si Jason noong Enero 14.

JR SIABOC
Kilalang mahiyaing promdi si JR Siaboc na mula sa Toledo, Cebu City. Dati siyang miyembro ng banda bago siya sumali sa Pinoy Dream Academy.

Kung dati’y suki ng mga mall shows sa kanilang lugar, ngayon at isa na rin siyang artista. Hindi hilig ni JR ang sumali sa mga contest pero dahil naging mapilit ang kanyang mga kaibigan at pamilya, nagpunta na rin siya sa SM Cebu at nag-audition sa PDA and the rest is history.

Sinubukan rin niya ang actingat unang sabakniya ang Your Song kasama si Maja Salvador.sinundan pa ng Pangarap na Bituin at Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara. Isa naman siya sa secret agent na si Enzo sa Palos. 21 years old na si JR noong Enero 21.

PANKY TRINIDAD
Dating call center agent at miyembro ng banda si Panky sa Cebu. Pinilit siya ng kanyang mga kaibigan na sumali sa PDA audition. First love niya ang pagkanta pero hindi niya naisip ang sumali sa kahit anumang kontes.

Isa nang Star Magic artist si Panky at mapapanood sa ABS-CBN shows sa darating na mga araw. 22 years old nasi Panky noong enero 21.

EJ JALLORINA
Isa sa orihinal na Goin Bulilit at Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit si EJ Jallorina. Binata na si EJ at nag-concentrate sa kanyang pag-aaral bilang 3rd year student sa Nazarene Catholic School.

Napili naman siya bilang isa sa lead actor sa indie film na Pisay. Naging challenge sa kanya ang role pero naipasa naman niya ito with flying colors. Nakatakdang umalis si EJ papuntang France para ire-represent ang Pisay sa international film festival. Noong Enero 21, 15 years old na si EJ.

KIAN KAZEMI
Dating print at TV model si Kian Kazemi na nagtapos sa La Salle bago pa man siya napasabak sa Pinoy Big Brother. Wala siyang interest na sumali pero ang kanyang agent at ina ang nagkumbinse sa kanya.

Gusto ni Kian na makagawa ng isang comedy show mala-Palibhasa Lalake. Bukod sa Kung Fu Kids kung saan isa siyang pulis na si Teban, nag-host rin siya para sa Trip na Trip. Ang half-Pinoy at half Persian na si Kian ay 21 years old na noong Enero 26.

RONNIE LIANG
Bunso sa pitong magkakapatid si Ronnie Liang at maagang nakaranas ng hirap ng buhay. Tatlong taon nagtrabaho si Ronnie sa isang food chain para masuportahan ang kanyang pag-aaral.

Ang balladeer na mula sa Angeles Pampanga ay nagpunta sa Maynila para subukan ang swerte sa PDA. Regular siya sa ASAP at most requested song ang kanyang awiting Ngiti na nasa unang album niya.

Uumpisahan na niya ang kanyang pangalawang album ngayong Feb. o March. Birthday niya noong Jan. 31 and he’s 23 years old.

Sarah has die-hard fans in the US

IT’S no exaggeration to say that Sarah Geronimo has die-hard fans in the US. During one of her SRO concerts in America, one Pinay who had earlier been rushed to hospital insisted that she be brought to watch Sarah perform. She got her wish, arriving at the concert in a wheelchair.

Then there was this professional photographer who presented Sarah with an album of pictures he shot during her last US concert. “The album was so beautiful,” she says. “I wasn’t aware he was taking my pictures. I was so thankful.”

Pinoys abroad never tire of Sarah. She has played to packed audiences every time she flew over to entertain them. They follow her programs on The Filipino Channel. They can’t get enough of her.

This March, her fans in the US and Canada will once again get the chance to see their idol perform live.

Sarah will be performing with the same barkada of singing champions that has been doing successful concert tours overseas.

Before she packs her bags and flies off, Sarah goes on stage with Rachelle Ann Go, Christian Bautista and Erik Santos at the Araneta Coliseum on February 13.

After that, you’ll see a lot of Sarah when her print and TV commercials are launched.

The Araneta concert and US and Canada tour kick off a hectic year for Sarah. When she returns she’ll dive straight into shooting a film to be co-produced by Viva Films and Star Cinema.

Viva Films’ Big Boss Vic del Rosario is about to close the deal for the movie with Star Cinema.

The film has been put on hold several times because Sarah was tied up with her other projects.

Wowowee’ victims appeal to ‘Eat Bulaga’ to join ‘game’

MANILA, Philippines -- About 50 victims of the "Wowowee" stampede held a mass and a vigil in front of the gates of the Philsports Arena (formerly Ultra) in Pasig City Monday to mark the second anniversary of the incident which claimed the lives of 74 people.

At the same time, the group appealed to "Eat Bulaga," Wowowee’s rival TV show on GMA 7, to let them participate in its “On the Spot” portion “to alleviate their plight” since they have not received help from ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. which produces Wowowee.

Candles were lit at the entrance to the arena, where most of the victims died in a stampede on February 4, 2006 while waiting for the gates to open. Most of them had waited in line for days just to enter the arena where the first anniversary of Wowowee was to be held.

According to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), over 800 people were injured in the mad rush to get in for a chance to win millions of pesos in prizes.

Rose Roque of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) reiterated the group’s call for ABS-CBN to extend them assistance. She noted that the network has yet to fulfill its promise to help all those who were injured or those who lost their loved ones in the incident.

While she acknowledged that ABS-CBN had extended some form of assistance to some families whose members died in the stampede, Roque said some 200 others have yet to receive financial help of any kind.

VACC said it sent a letter to the management of Eat Bulaga on January 15, asking for permission to let the Wowowee victims join one of the show’s portions where participants have a chance to win cash prizes.

“While waiting for developments in their case, may we respectfully request your kind and generous accommodation of the request of the victims to be featured in the ‘On the Spot’ portion of the show,” VACC’s letter to Eat Bulaga executive producer Malou Choa-Fagar said.

The VACC included in its letter the names of about 70 Wowowee victims. It said that they have yet to hear from the show’s management.

sa akin hindi pa perfect yung acting nya pero so far ok naman sya sa Lobo.
Baka yung ibang kapamilya na medyo hindi ok sa kanila yung acting ni Angel kase sanay sa ABS na yung level ng acting eh Juday/Claudine/Maricel & more award winning actresses pero understandable naman na parang baguhan pa lang si Angel ngayon.

Ganging up on the new ABS-CBN primetime slows

Even before Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin could make a formal appearance in Lobo (which only happened last Friday as the first four nights were used to tell the back story), tab editors and columnists allegedly friendly to the Kapuso network declared it as a flop because of failure to rate better than the competitor show. Using a questionable ratings figure, it failed specify which research agency did the sampling, failed to indicate the research area, failed to indicate if it is an official or overnight reading; and more importantly, failed to indicate the margin of error. If GMA did not do anything to its primetime programming to counter ABS-CBN’s bold programming move, now we know why. It planned to do it the simple, less expensive way, that is, through ratings which it has undue advantage over ABS-CBN due to weak transmission in Metro Manila fringes. Some just went to the extent of writing about their biases against Piolo and Angel for old debts to pay and talents to keep in their turfs. How to deal with? Ignore them like I do and enjoy the unfolding of an extraordinary love story that is Lobo that may not come our way again.

Wowowee’ victims appeal to ‘Eat Bulaga’ to join ‘game’

MANILA, Philippines -- About 50 victims of the "Wowowee" stampede held a mass and a vigil in front of the gates of the Philsports Arena (formerly Ultra) in Pasig City Monday to mark the second anniversary of the incident which claimed the lives of 74 people.

At the same time, the group appealed to "Eat Bulaga," Wowowee’s rival TV show on GMA 7, to let them participate in its “On the Spot” portion “to alleviate their plight” since they have not received help from ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. which produces Wowowee.

Candles were lit at the entrance to the arena, where most of the victims died in a stampede on February 4, 2006 while waiting for the gates to open. Most of them had waited in line for days just to enter the arena where the first anniversary of Wowowee was to be held.

According to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), over 800 people were injured in the mad rush to get in for a chance to win millions of pesos in prizes.

May nag-aasikaso pa rin ba sa kanilang mga biktima ngayon, may pumapansin pa ba? e bakit naman ang WWW ang pinag-aaksayahan ng panahon ng VACC? Ang dami-daming corruption sa bansa.....manipulation at kung anu-ano pang anumalya sa kapaligiran...e bakit nag-aaaksaya ng panahon ang grupong ito sa ganitong sitwasyon? Dahil mas madali silang makakakuha ng bayad o komisyon? E ganun lang naman talaga ang kalakaran. Naibigay mo na ang iyong braso ang gusto buong katawan mo. Kung pwede lang makipagtalo o argumento sa mga biktima, e masasabi ko lang na buti pa nga sila kahit papaano naasikaso, pero kung iisipin kasalan ng biktimang ito ang kanilang sinapit din, at kasalanan ng mga kamag-anak nila. Dahil kung may tumutulong sa kanilang mabuhay ng marangal yun e yung mga kadugo nila dapat. E di sana hindi sila parang mga pulubing nakabantay sa grasyang hindi naman nila siguradong mapapasakamay nga nila! Karamihan kasi sa pinoy hindi marunong mamuhay ng marangal. Nakausap ng Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) si Ogie Alcasid tungkol sa mga umugong na tsismis na lilipat ang kanyang kasintahan na si Regine Velazquez.

"Imposibleng iwan niya ako sa GMA," Ogie Alcasid said last Saturday night at Iloilo kung saan ginanap ang auditions para sa Pinoy Idol.

Sunod-sunod kasi ang headline last week hanggang this week ang posibilidad daw na lumipat si Regine sa Kapamilya network. May mga panulat na nagpi-feelers daw si Regine sa ABS-CBN at may interview naman daw kay Regine that she's not closing her doors on ABS-CBN lalo pa't wala siyang contract sa GMA-7.

"Iiwan niya ako sa GMA? Iiwan niya ang GMA? May SOP kami. Pagkatapos ng Pinoy Idol, isusunod agad ang second season ng Celebrity Duets namin. Magsisimula na kami ng first movie namin for GMA Films (Love is Deaf... And Blind). GMA ang nag produce ng animated movie ni Regine (Urduja kung saan all music ni Ogie). Wala naman siyang problema sa GMA."

We asked Ogie kung paano at saan ito nanggaling and he has a theory.

"Kasi magi-guest ulit si Regine sa Maaalala Mo Kaya, baka doon nagsimula ang balita. Hayaan mo na yun, baka promo slant nila yun." (at ABS advantage or at Regine's advantage kasi may show sya sa Europe, utang na loob, Dinno Errece naman, unfair na naman to)

Napagalaman pa namin na may US concert si Regine na gagawin this year at ang TFC ang magki-carry nito overseas kung kaya't for promotion din, baka kailanganin ni Regine na mag-promote sa mga shows ng ABS-CBN.

Nakatakda ang lunch meeting ni Kris Aquino sa mga ABS-CBN bigwigs bukas, February 6, para sa susunod na programang gagawin niya sa Kapamilya network pagkatapos ng matagumpay na horror-drama series na Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara.

"Hindi ko pa alam and I'm not at liberty to say," sabi ni Kris sa PEP (Philippine Philippine Entertainment Portal) tungkol sa kanyang next project. "But I think it's another Susan Roces vehicle, but not any of those na na-announce niya."

Taliwas ito sa unang ipinahayag ni Kris na hindi na siya gagawa ng teleserye pagkatapos ng Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara.

"Ayoko na talaga," sambit niya. "Kaya lang, parang si Tita Susan ang nagsabi sa akin na, ‘Habang bida ka pa, huwag mong talikuran.' Sabi niya, ‘Kris naman, in your 30s, ikaw ang title-roler. This opportunity only comes once. Kailan ka babalik? When you are a lola?'

"Sabi niya, spacing lang kasi nakakabaliw lang naman talaga yung nangyari sa akin na naglu-launch ako ng Wheel of Fortune, nagpa-Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara, meron akong Boy & Kris, at meron akong commercial na ginagawa. Hindi na talaga ako humihinga, yun talaga. I was sick for 12 straight days because of that. That's really wrong for your health. So, dapat talaga inaayos nang matino yung schedule," lahad ni Kris.

RATINGS ISSUE. Kasabay ng pagpapalabas ng Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara, na tumakbo ng tatlong linggo, ang kainitan ng isyu sa paglabas ng mga informant ng ABS-CBN na may manipulasyon diumano sa ratings ng AGB Nielsen Media Research. Dito lalong umigting ang isyu ng network war. Ano ang reaksiyon ni Kris dito?

"Wala naman sa akin," sabi niya. "Kasi feeling ko, nung time ng Barbara, right away naman nag-congratulate sila sa akin kasi sila ang may rating nung time na yun, deadma ang ABS-CBN. So, text sila, ‘My God! Ang lakas talaga!'

"So, sabi ko, doon ako naniniwala. Sabi ko, ‘Oh, my God! Ratings na nila, malakas pa.' So, sabi ko, siguro malakas talaga. So, kahit na yung parang kahit buong katawan namin kinakagat ng lamok, kasi yung area na yun [location] super malamok, ha. Kasi parang semi-abandoned yung house. Mga ten years na 'ata na hindi nag-i-stay yung mga kids and all. So, may mga areas na parang hinihika-hika na ako and all.

"Tapos eto na lang, siguro the fact na si Tita Susan hindi nag-alinlangang humiga sa highway... Siyempre kahit gitna na, ang daming worms. Promise talaga, nakikita ko yung mga bulate kasi umulan, e. Tapos may mga ipis, may mga ganung kalalaking langgam, ‘tapos po pinagpag nila, inisprayan nila, okay. No choice, higa ako. Yun ang nakita ko sa kanya, yung professionalism."

PHILLIP SALVADOR. Natanong din kay Kris ang isyu tungkol sa sa paghahain ng warrantless arrest sa ex-live in partner niya at ama ng anak niyang si Joshua, si Phillip Salvador.

"You know, we are no longer involved in each other's life so, it's off for me to comment," maikli niyang pahayag.

Last time na nakapanayam namin si Phillip, nasabi niya na nagkabati na ulit sila ni Kris si nang si Joshua mismo ang nagdala sa aktor sa taping ng TV host/actress.

"Ayokong mag-comment. We never fought but we're just not close. So, yun. So, huwag na lang ako mag-comment talaga. Kasi anyway, basta yun na yun. Quiet Krissy," nakangiting sabi niya sa sarili.

HER SONS' CRUSHES. Speaking of Joshua, kung crush ng panganay niya ang 26K member na si Chloe, ibinuking naman ni Kris kung sino ang first crush ng bunso niyang si Baby James.

"Ang crush niya si KC [Concepcion]. Promise!" excited na rebelasyon ni Kris.

"Kasi every time yung commercial ni KC lumalabas, titigil ang lahat at nakatitig na siya doon. Gandang-ganda siya. Kita mo doon sa mata na parang pretty'ng-pretty siya. Tapos sinasabi ng tatay [James Yap] niya kagabi, kasi di ba sa TV Patrol, nali-link si KC kay Richard [Gutierrez]. Sabi ni James sa kanya, ‘Baby James, naunahan ka na ni Richard Gutiererz.' Super cute!" aliw na aliw na kuwento ni Kris.

Alam na ba ito ni KC o kahit ng ina niya na si Sharon Cuneta?

"KC knows kasi si Juan Sarte fix me for this and normally does my ano... Sinabi na ni Juan sa kanya na siya yung first crush ng anak ko. Sabi ko, 'At least, you have a good taste, honey!'" tawa ulit ni Kris.

NEW BUSINESS. Super ipon daw ulit si Kris ngayon dahil naubos ang pera nila sa pagpapatayo ng bago nilang bahay. Bukod diyan, nagsi-save rin si Kris sa bagong negosyo na papasukan nila ng kaibigan niyang si Boy Abunda.

"Para for the future kasi gusto namin ni Boy magkaroon ng resort sa Guimaras. Kaming dalawa ang magbi-business. May nahanap daw siyang ano, ‘tapos sabi niya, nagne-negotiate siya ngayon. Magkaka-resort kaming dalawa," lahad ni Kris.

Magkano naman daw ang magiging puhunan nila sa itatayong resort?

"Ewan ko kay Boy. Basta sabi niya mangyayari 'yan. Mga five years siguro. Siyempre pag-iipunan mo. Meron siyang nakitang land na kailangan naming i-develop. Pero ang sinabi niya, super ang lalaki na raw ng mango trees. E, di siyempre, ang come on mo mango picking. ‘Yan ang future plan namin," excited na sabi ni Kris.

Martin Nievera’s 25th anniversary concert, titled Martin Nievera XXV, was a success. In the mentioned concert, kasama ni Martin ang dalawa niyang anak na si Robin at Ram and the Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga.

Asked how to describe the concert, Martin said, “It’s 25 years of my music. Everything I recorded will be there. From Be My Lady to my latest songs to some songs I’ve recorded but never sung live before. What’s going to be hard is not forget some songs.”

But being the brilliant performer he is, Martin delivered and exceeded everyone’s expectations.

It’s just to prove na si Martin pa din ang Concert King.

Maybe Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano can energize himself and stage a concert at the Araneta Coliseum soon. Fan si Showbuzzer ni Gary din kaya excited ako if this will push through.

Anyway, sad naman that Gary’s son Paolo was involved in a car accident that happened the other night at C-5. We hope everything will be fixed soon.

Melissa Ricksis happy that the first movie of her love team with Matt Evans, "Shake, Rattle & Roll 9," was a hit during the Metro-Manila Filmfest. "Ang sarap ng feeling mapabilang sa isang top-grossing movie," she says. "When we watched it at punong-puno ng tao ang sinehan, we really felt proud lalo na when they were screaming with fright during our episode."

Melissa turned 18 on January 9 and she had her debut right in "ASAP" where her close friends in showbiz danced the traditional cotillion with her. "It was really a memorable birthday celebration for me and I’d like to thank my ‘ASAP’ family. Later on, I held a get-together with my friends and then I went to the Bethlehem Orphanage in Baliwag, Bulacan. After I joined ‘Star Circle Quest,’ talagang ang daming dumating na blessings sa akin. I did the hit show, ‘Pedro Penduko,’ with Matt where I played Reyna Hiyas. I also did ‘Your Song’ at nagka-movie pa ako, kaya I felt I should share it with the less fortunate kids in the orphanage.

Mo Twister’s radio show gets a TV spin

From the constraints of the radio booth to the boob tube, Mo Twister’s controversial show is crossing over big time, bringing with it more controversial spins that are now open to primetime viewing.

"Good Times With Mo" is scheduled to unleash its brand of wit, humor and entertainment courtesy of Mo and cohorts DJ Mojo Jojo, Grace Lee and Andie Manzano . It’s an anything–goes magazine show that literally and figuratively breaks free from the parameters of the radio booth.

"Basically it’s the TV translation of the radio show," the motormouth host told the Manila Bulletin in an interview Monday. "It’s gonna carry the same thing our listeners have grown to love about the show and if we just get to have our listeners alone to watch the show, we’re good already. But the show is also about putting a face to the radio persons they hear every morning."

Mo said a lot of people call Magic 89.9 to ask for its address just so "they could see what we look like in person."

The TV version goes beyond the premise of the original. New segments include travel hits and misses, lifestyle features and just the right dosage of entertainment.

At the show’s launch, one of the segments delivered a lot of laughs though it wasn’t screened for the press. All it took to get the reporters in stitches was for Mojo Jojo to explain the segment. "We went to a sausage factory where, of course, we saw all kinds of sausages. Then we tried putting faces on the sausages by giving then celebrity names, like naming the Vienna sausage John Pratts. And then there’s this big brown sausage we named Piolo Pascual and the viewers are all gonna see them on the show," revealed the Bulletin columnist who is getting his long-deserved mainstream TV job.

In the first episodes, Grace will teach her co-hosts how to speak proper Korean (or at least she will try hard to teach them) while Mo tries to beat pro-hopper and PBA’s (Philippine Basketball Association) Ginebra center Mike Holper in a one-on-one game.

Judging from the show’s teaser, "Good Times with Mo, Mojo, Grace and Andie" speaks for itself as a hodgepodge of laugh-inducing entertainment. It’s also a non-stop talk show with hosts who never seem to require a script. Thus, it’s among the few TV offerings that don’t require TelePrompTers.

What the producers might want to consider having ready on the set are gag gadgets — just in case the hosts get too carried away.

On top of each other's list

It’s been hinted that Mo has been romancing Andie (a VJ of MTV) but the alleged couple settled the score once and for all. "We are not together," Mo confessed, "but if I would have the time to pursue somebody and it would not complicate work, Andie is definitely on top of my list."

The VJ returned the favor by admitting Mo would also top her list. "Mo has been a friend and I learned a lot from him. I learned everything from him as far as the business is concerned. So yes, he would also be on top of my list."

Grace meanwhile clarified that she’s doing the show, which will air on ABS-CBN’s Studio 23, with the blessings of her managers from GMA Artist Center. "At first I thought there would be a problem about it but they knew this show would cater to a different market than ‘The Good Life’ (a show Grace does for her home network), they allowed me to do it."

Mo's dream inteview

In a previous interview with the Bulletin, Mo Twister said he dreams of subjecting President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to his controversial "40 Forbidden Questions." So badly does he want to have this interview, he’s willing to pay P100,000 to anyone who can arrange it. That’s money coming from his own pocket!

If the interview does happen, Mo will unleash the politician in him."I’ve always wanted to be a politician since I was little. I took up Political Science because I wanted to be as senator so a chance to interview the President is really a huge dream for me but I will have to be boring and allow me to ask questions I’ve been dying to ask of her."

Some of the questions Mo would like the President to respond to: "Is the job worth it when you get more blame than credit for the things you do? Why do it? Why do something that makes you accountable for all the mistakes of the country? What does it feel like to be the number one Filipino in the whole world? Who’s the country’s biggest thief?"

Other engaging segments on to anticipate are "Ang Yabang Mo," "Gay or Straight?" "Cute Boy Alert," and "Forbidden Questions." "Good Times," which is said to be something in between "Lifestyle" and Jack ***."

The show kicks off on Feb. 26, 11 pm on Studio 23

Since Kris Aquino and her husband James Yap spent quite a fortune for their new house, the TV host-actress revealed that one of her major concerns now is to save money for the future. At the launching of Gyne Pro (a feminine wash brand), which is the newest endorsement for Kris, she disclosed that she's saving 40% of her earnings.

She's also not buying herself a gift on her birthday come Valentine's Day, same with James who marks his birthday on the 15th. She said she and James agreed that her birthday gift to her mom, the former President Cory Aquino, would be a new van. Kris didn't want to reveal what brand, but said that the vehicle will not have a problem with the Bureau of Customs since all its papers are in order. They are just waiting for the van to be delivered anytime this month.

Kris is happy with the good feedback that she received for the show "Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara" and is likewise very pleased with the opportunity given her to co-star with movie queen Ms. Susan Roces in the TV remake of "Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara," which is one of the most successful movies of the veteran actress.

She has a new project waiting for her at ABS-CBN and the widow of FPJ told her to accept the project since it suits her. But Kris wouldn't want to give the details regarding the project. "But Tita Susan told me to accept the project because it's really bagay for me. She even said she will talk to the ABS-CBN management to make sure that the project will really land on my lap," said Kris.

To paraphrase the Julie Andrews Sound of Music song... somewhere in her recent past or childhood, Maja Salvador must have done something good.

Emerging as one of last year’s few truly promising stars (gifted with both looks and talent, vintage Salvador), Maja is enjoying good karma because, that’s right, she has been doing some things good.

Dame Luck is on her side.

Late last year, Maja won P800,000 on the defunct game show Deal Or No Deal (hosted by Kris Aquino who now hosts Wheel of Fortune which took the timeslot of DOND). Last week, she won not just P120,000 cash but a brand-new Mitsubishi Fusion on Wheel of Fortune after she guessed the right words (blind date).

Yesterday, Maja left with her mom and brother for a few days holiday in Hong Kong.

“It’s my gift to them,” said Maja, the ulirang anak (ideal daughter).

Said her mom, “She first buys what we need, and only later for her own. Mabait na anak ‘yang si Maja. Hindi siya maramot.”

Although she didn’t grow up with her dad, Ross Rival (Chichi Salvador in real life), Maja took care of him when he was hospitalized and shouldered the funeral expenses when he died.

A member of the cast of the ABS-CBN suspense-thriller Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara, Maja has also been getting good breaks in movies. She’s a well-loved endorser, too. See her eye-catching Folded & Hung billboard all over the Metropolis?

Susan Roces and Kris Aquino, lead stars of Barbara, are all praises for Maja.

“She has a bright future ahead of her,” said Kris.

Star Cinema Reveals 2008 stars

Confirmed na confirmed that only the biggest stars will grace the silver screen via Star Cinema.

Among those in the roster of stars aligned with the top film-making company are Gloria Romero, Maricel Soriano, Aga Muhlach, Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Judy Ann Santos, Claudine Barretto, Angelica Panganiban, Sam Milby, Toni Gonzaga, Bea Alonzo, Cesar Montano, Vhong Navarro, Vilma Santos, Angel Locsin, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Shaina Magdayao, Anne Curtis and many many more.

One very confirmed project is the Piolo Pascual-Angel Locsin starrer. They already announced it in the presscon to promote Lobo, which incidentally is doing very well in the ratings.

Maybe a cute romantic comedy would fit Angel and Piolo. After all, they have proven their mettle already in drama kaya naman magiging refreshing naman pag-mag romantic comedy sila diba?

Great day KAPAMILYA! I was watching TV Patrol World last Monday, February 4, 2008. Mabibigat ang mga headlines nila, regarding about the on-going coup d’ etat at the House of Representatives, ousting of JDV as the Speaker of the House. Maganda ang pagkakadeliver ng mga reportage in-depth at straight to the point. Tapos may mga follow-up reports tungkol sa mga personalidad na involve sa issue. Habang pinapalabas ang mga speeches ng mga congressman, nag switch ako muna sa 24 Oras para makita kung ano headlines nila, napanganga na lang ako kasi yung 3 hold-up incident sa Quezon City ang headline nila, mas mahalaga pa pala ang mga ganung headlines kesa sa pagpapatanggal kay JDV sa pagka speakership. Kaya binalik ko na agad sa TV Patrol. Tinapos ko ang kabuuan nito. Nung mag appear na ang mga credits sa screen, nilipat ko muna sa 24 Oras, ayun di pa tapos, samantalang sabay naman sila kung mag umpisa. At that time yung issue na about kay JDV ang binabalita nila, kaya I observed kung ano mga detalye ang ibabalita nila, as usual gaya ng sa TV Patrol World, parehas lang, hanggang sa pagtapos nito sa pag babable nina Mel at Mike ng kanilang mga walang credibilidad na spiels, “…..walang kinikilingan, walang pinoprotektahan…… blah blah blah” Nang lumabas na ang mga credits sa left side ng screen may erratum o pagpapatuwid sa isa nilang report na nag aapologize sa maling pagpapakita ng picture ni PNP chief Avelino Razon instead na dapat kay Businessman Enrique Razon. Nagtaka ako kung bakit masyadong late ang pagtatapos ng 24 Oras compared sa TV Patrol, araw araw itong nangyayari, doon ko napag isip isip kaya pala ganun, sa palagay ko kaya di nagging headline ng 24 Oras ang tungkol kay JDV kasi kung ano ang mga headline ng TV Patrol World, mahahabol pa nila ito sa last part, at pati yung mga iba pang balita eh marereport din nila. Kasi kung prepared na yung mga video at mga picture na ipapakita mo sa TV while reporting ma ma rereview pa ng staff ang mga ito before na ibroadcast pwera lang pag Live coverage. Ang nangyari kasi may report ang TV Patrol World tungkol sa involvement umano ni Businessman Enrique Razon sa pagtatalsik kay JDV kasi malapit na kaibigan ng Arroyo family ito at nakiki pag negosyo ito sa mga government projects. Kaya sa last part ng 24 Oras meron din sila nun kaya lang maling picture ang pinakita instead nga kay Enrique Razon ang pinakita ay yung kay Avelino Razon.
