just the idea of a twisted brain:D . i believe so too. anyway, advertisers don't let themselves influenced by other factors bec clients/accounts can have the last word too. and to think cito alejandro came from nestle yet still, the revenue performance of abs did not do well since his seat.

The script writers are Kwon So Yun (권소연) whose previous works was the movie "Reversal of Fortune (2003)" and Lee Hye Sun (이혜선) who wrote for the drama "The Land". KJE plays the daughter of a rich family. She doesn't know much about the world and is looking for her true love. The duo Jung Joon Ho and Kim Jung Eun's movie "Marrying the Mafia” attracted more than 5 million moviegoers in 2002. During past 7 years, JJH has been filming movies and this is the first drama of his comeback to small screen. Actor Kim Heung Soo (김흥수) who acted in "God of Sea" is also in this drama.

Simula ngayong Lunes, July 4, bubuksan ng MRS ang "Sino si Peping,” ang pinaka-exciting na pa-kontes para s a mga bata sa telebiyson. Dito, hahanap ang ABS-CBN ng isang batang lalaki na gaganap bilang Peping, ang role na nagpasikat sa batang si Romnick Sarmenta, sa bagong teleseryeng nitong Gulong ng Palad.

Bukod sa pagbubukas ng maraming mahahalagang oportunidad para sa mga batang naghahangad na maging artista, mapapanalunan rin ng winner ng "Sino si Peping” contest ang isang malaking role kasama nina Kristine Hermosa, Cherie Gil, Rio Locsin, Joel Torre, Andrea del Rosario at Joross Gamboa sa Gulong ng Palad. Panalo daw ang ABS-CBN sa ratings last night, according to Eric John Salut. He texted me na almost all Primetime Bida shows, including Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit, Kampanerang Kuba and Oh! Feel Young did average better than counterparts.

Maalaala Mo Kaya garnered 17% while Magpakailanman 12%.

SHOW biz couple Diether Ocampo and Kristine Hermosa never publicly admitted they had tied the knot but now she wants their marriage annulled.

Through her lawyers, Hermosa filed a petition with the Makati Prosecutor's Office last Friday seeking to nullify her marriage to Ocampo on grounds that "no marriage contract was executed" when the two "formalized their relationship on July 14, 2004, in Quezon City.

this is kinda late reaction, but it structs me when Diether cried, and not with Kristine. There must have been a very serious problem that made her decide this, abrubtly and willingly. im curious with that, she needs to tell the public a precise reason. im not with her side obviously.

1. Pls. reformat all your comedy shows, corny na kasi and pls scrap na Quizon ave. its a drag watching it, ang hirap na manood. You can change all your script/comedy writers here.

Let the writers have the creative control of the show not the directors or the actors.

2. Pls. dont overdo the news Mon-Fri ok na, wag na saturday, sundays nakakasawa...

We all need a respite from all these troubles that all we want to do on a weekend is enjoy good TV.

3. Pls. create mga grand, glitzzy productions for Primetime, mga period drama or fantaserye para maging competitive, and mellow down yung melo-drama, one is enough na or better yet wala na, see GMA cannot beat ABS on the melo-drama playing field so they created their own playing field the tele-serye(?) and gave ABs a run for its money.

4. It has been proven time and again that ABS cannot beat extra challenge, so venture no more on reality shows, and besides palaos na ang reality shows, so losing investment lang ito. Kaya im doubting(or sure failure mark my word) the success of Big brother baka maging kamao or Qpids
lang...sayang.

Abs should have ventured on more viable projects that can rival GMA, eg. Ibong adarna (why not, a very good fantaserye that can boast a good production design like encantadia)

5. and Finally, innovate, create new ideas, listen to the pulse of the people and create new productions based on this, dont slam their throat with old recycled, repackaged shows.

Desperate Housewives, winner of two Golden Globes, is enthralling audiences and smashing records as it launches across the globe – it is currently licensed to over 130 territories worldwide. The following was written by INTEL General Manager Robin Martin about the Philippines:

Filipinos (including the press, business people and myself) tend to dwell too much on the negative side and this effects the perception of foreigners, even the ones who have lived here for a while. The negative perception of the Philippines is way disproportionate to reality when compared to countries like Columbia, Egypt, Middle East, Africa, etc. Let us all help our country by balancing the negative with the positive especially when we talk to foreigners, whether based here or abroad.

Looking back and comparing the Philippines today and 1995 (the year I came back), I was struck by how much our country has progressed physically.

Consider the following:
1. The great telecom infrastructure that we have now did not exist in 1995. 1995 was the year the telecom industry was deregulated. Since then billions of dollars have been invested in both fixed line and cellular networks producing a system with over 5,000 kms of fiber optic backbone at a world competitive cost. From a fixed line capacity of about 900,000 in 1995 we now have over 7 million. Cellular phones practically did not exist in 1995; now
we have over 11 million line capacity.
2. The MRT, many of the EDSA flyovers (including the Ayala Avenue flyover), the SKYWAY, Rockwell and Glorietta 4, the Fort, NAIA terminal 2 and most of the new skyscrapers were not yet built in 1995.

3. If you drive to the provinces, you will notice that national roads are now of good quality (international quality asphalt roads). I just went to Iba, Zambales last week and I was impressed that even a not so frequently travelled road was of very good quality.
4. Philippine exports have increased by 600% over the past eight years. There are many, many more examples of progress over the last eight years. Philippine mangoes are now exported to the US and Europe.

Additional tidbits to make our people prouder:
1. INTEL has been in the Philippines for 28 years. The Philippines plant is where Intel's most advanced products are launched,including the Pentium IV. By the end of 2002, Philippine operations are expected to be Intel's biggest assembly and testing operations worldwide.

2. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS has been operating in Baguio for over 20 years. The Baguio plant is the largest producer of DSP chips in the world. DSP chips are the brains behind cellphones. TI's Baguio plant produces the chip that powers 100% of all NOKIA cellphones and 80% of Erickson cellphones in the world.

3. TOSHIBA laptops are produced in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

4. If you drive a BENZ, BMW, or a VOLVO, there is a good chance that the ABS system in your car was made in the Philippines.

5. TREND-MICRO, makers of one of the top anti virus software PC-Cillin (I may have mispelled this) develops its "cures" for viruses right here in Eastwood Libis, Quezon City. When a virus breaks in any computer system in the world, they try to find a solution within 45 minutes of finding the virus.

6. By the end of this year, it is expected that a majority of the top ten U.S. Call Center firms in the U.S. will have set up operations in the Philippines. This is one area in which I believe we are the best in the world in terms of value for money.

7. America Online (AOL) has 1,000 people in Clark answering 90% of AOL's global e-mail inquiries.

8. PROCTOR & GAMBLE has over 400 people right here in Makati (average age 23 years) doing back-up office work to their Asian operations including finance, accounting, Human Resources and payments processing.

9. Among many other things it does for its regional operations network in the Asia-Pacific region here in Manila, CITIBANK also does its global ATM programming locally.

10. This is the first year ever that the Philippines will be exporting cars in quantity courtesy of FORD Philippines.

11. The government is shedding off graft and corruption slowly but surely. This is the first time in our histroy that a former president is in jail and facing charges of plunder. Despite all odds, we are still pursuing the ill-gotten wealth of Marcos now enjoyed by his unrepentant heirs.

Next time you travel abroad and meet business associates tell them the good news. A big part of our problem is perception and one of the biggest battles can be won simply by believing and by making others believe.

This message is shared by good citizens of the Philippines who persevere to hope and work for our country.

Most English speaking Cameroonians can not afford to miss an episode of Pangako Sa Yo's, "The Promise".

Its 7.00p.m., most tele-viewers are on the Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) channel to watch "The Promise". It is a Philippine film screened over CRTV. The film follows the trials and triumphs of Yna, Amor and Claudia - three women whose fates are intertwined with those of the aristocratic Buenavista clan. Their secrets and passions set the stage for the unfolding of a family drama that may lead to their happiness, or destroy them all.

"The Promise" is screened from Monday to Thursday, 7.00 p.m. to 7.25p.m. The atmosphere in most homes is usually calm as all eyes are glued to the television screen.

"The Promise" revolves around the story of a lovely house maid, Yna, who falls in love with her employer, Angelo. Their love story is destined to repeat. Years before, Yna's mother, Amor was also a housemaid in the Buenavista household, wherein Angelo's father, Eduardo was Dona Benita's favoured son. When their love affair was discovered, Dona Benita drove Amor away from the Hacienda. Rejected and oppressed, Amor left the province of Puntaverda but vowed to take avenge. Unknown to Eduardo, Amor was already carrying his child, Yna. Eduardo then married the powerful and influential, Claudia. One day, Amor meets Eduardo, she does not know if her daughter is still alive. A new cycle of love and passion begins in the film, with mysteries and secrets about to unfold.

The population's interest in watching the movie mounts daily. Atem Nelly Atem, a three year-old-child in Yaounde told her aunty that "if you do not have Ena, Angelo, Amoro, etc, in your television, I will not come to your home for holidays".

Staff and top honchos alike rush home to watch Pangako Sa ‘Yo (The Promise) and Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas (Timeless) and other ABS-CBN teleseryes in which they are hooked they do not dare miss a single episode. And this phenomenon is happening not in the Philippines—but across Asia, especially in Malaysia, Europe, and Africa, where various ABS-CBN series are being shown.

“Pangako Sa ‘Yo has made a name in my country,” wrote Malaysian viewer Tania in a Web site created by fans of ABS-CBN shows. According to fellow viewers, they have watched many other soap operas from other countries but they were not moved with any of those like The Promise did. “The soap has beaten all other soaps we have watched here in Zambia!” affirms Hildah, another loyal viewer. This audience does not understand Tagalog, and they knew none of our stars at first but now they are self-proclaimed big fans of Filipino actors and actresses, especially of the Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa love team.

And now, Philippine TV’s drama princess Judy Ann Santos and teleserye queen Claudine Barretto are also expected to be huge stars in the international scene with the airing of their shows Krystala and Marina, respectively, on Indonesia. Marina, a mermaid’s take, is the country’s very first fantasy series (fantaserye) whose phenomenal success has spawned various shows of the same genre. Krystala features Judy Ann Santos like you’ve never seen her before: as the generation’s super heroine.

Bringing local programs overseas not only provides entertainment but also serves as a cure for the homesickness to our kababayans. A Filipino based in Kenya, Africa, says, “[ever] since [ABS-CBN shows] were aired here, everyone’s been asking me if I’m a Filipino, like their favorite characters in [the series]. Even in the capital city or nearby towns, people always make positive comments. It makes me feel more confident about being a Filipino!”

Other soap operas that are gaining hype abroad are Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay (The Long Wait), It Might Be You, Darating Ang Umaga (Till Morning Comes), Bituin (Star), Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako (The Moment You Need Me), Familia Zaragoza and ABS-CBN’s long-running drama series Maalaala Mo Kaya. This slate of exceptional series has been changing the viewing habits of international audiences for many years now.

Suggestion for ABS-CBN...

1. Pls. reformat all your comedy shows, corny na kasi and pls scrap na Quizon ave. its a drag watching it, ang hirap na manood. You can change all your script/comedy writers here.

Let the writers have the creative control of the show not the directors or the actors.

2. Pls. dont overdo the news Mon-Fri ok na, wag na saturday, sundays nakakasawa...

We all need a respite from all these troubles that all we want to do on a weekend is enjoy good TV.

3. Pls. create mga grand, glitzzy productions for Primetime, mga period drama or fantaserye para maging competitive, and mellow down yung melo-drama, one is enough na or better yet wala na, see GMA cannot beat ABS on the melo-drama playing field so they created their own playing field the tele-fantasya and gave ABs a run for its money.

4. It has been proven time and again that ABS cannot beat extra challenge, so venture no more on reality shows, and besides palaos na ang reality shows, so losing investment lang ito. Kaya im doubting(or sure failure mark my word) the success of Big brother baka maging kamao or Qpids
lang...sayang.

Abs should have ventured on more viable projects that can rival GMA, eg. Ibong adarna (why not, a very good fantaserye that can boast a good production design like encantadia)

5. Inovate, create new ideas, listen to the pulse of the people and create new productions based on this, dont slam their throat with old recycled, repackaged shows.

6. and finally, PLs. disengage ABS with any political affiliations, thru this people will again perceive the network as impartial, fair and unbiased..

Next week ang tunay na laban. Sa Monster Park Fairground ang ASAP na may estimated capacity na 70,000 seats. Ang SOP naman ay sa Bill Graham Civic Auditorium na 7,000.

Next week ang tunay na laban. Sa Monster Park Fairground ang ASAP na may estimated capacity na 70,000 seats. Ang SOP naman ay sa Bill Graham Civic Auditorium na 7,000.

MALI TALAGA ang ABS to NOT put 101 in prime time eh remember yung STH nag hit talaga. At yung girl din na bida sa STH ang bida sa 101. Dapat yung green rose ang ilipat sa timeslot ngayon nang 101 at 101 ang ilagay sa timeslot nang green rose.

Ewan ko ba kung bakit mahina talaga magprogramming ang ABS pagdating sa asian soaps nila. Nakakabwisit.

unfortunately, ABS is not going to claim their name again...ang hina nila...y did the GMA get the chance to invite LDG when its ABS who made LDG popular? i mean i never expected magiging mas hi tech pa ang GMA wen it comes inviting their imports korean stars...tsk..tsk..sayang..its too sad...i know ABS is promting our own filipino talents but these days,audiences want something new and more exciting.something different from our own tastes... well... i hope ABS can catch up the popularity GMA is recieving now....goodluck nlng....:o

i heard abs management has been busy with the reorg and the upcoming shows. pana-panahon lang naman 'yan. but why are they taking sooo loooong to show the rest of their 30 shows? ang tagal naman humanap ng bwelo! looking forward to big brother. gusto ko makita ang treatment ng concept.
