Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo,’ may premiere sa Barcelona

SUPER-KAYOD ang byuti ni Judy Ann Santos, as in, ’di halos magkandaugaga ang aktres sa rami ng trabaho.

Simula December, next month, hanggang kalagitnaan ng susunod na taon, 2008, puno na ang kalendaryo ni Juday.

Gustuhin man pagbigyan ni Alfie Lorenzo, her manager, ang ibang nais magbigay ng raket sa aktres, sorry na lang kung hindi sila mapagbigyan.

Dahil may entry ang Star Cinema sa Metro Manila Film Festival ngayong Pasko, ang Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo, kung saan kasama ni Juday ang dyowang si Ryan Agoncillo, pareho silang magiging busy sa promo ng said movie.

Habang umaani ng tagumpay sa takilya ang SSS sa sampung araw na filmfest, bubunuin naman ni Juday ang sunud-sunod na shooting para sa kanyang anim na bagong TV commercial.

By January, next year, U.S.-bound ang grupo nina Alfie, Juday, Derek Ramsey at Direk Jeffrey Jeturian upang kunan doon ang maraming eksena para sa bagong soap ng aktres, ang Habang May Buhay.

Para malubos ang excitement ng fans, planado ang much-awaited team-up ng dalawang “reyna” ng Kapamilya Network – ang “dramatic queen” at “comedy queen.”

Yes, for the first time, magkakasama sa isang weekly sitcom sina Juday at Ai- Ai de las Alas, plus Ryan.

May ilang suhestiyon si Ka Alfie na kuwelang title ng sitcom. Since, mahilig nga raw sa cooking si Juday, baka puwede raw gamiting title ang Cooking ng Ina Mo. Hahaha!

Anyway, sa bandang February or March, muling babalik ng Barcelona, Spain, sina Alfie, Juday, Ryan at ilang taga-Star Cinema, para naman sa naka-schedule nang premiere showing doon ng Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo.

Siguro naman daw, ayon kay Ka Alfie, sa bandang May-June, pagbalik nila from Barcelona, nakapag-decide na sila ni Juday kung sino ang pagbibigyan nila sa dalawang produ na matagal nang gustong kunin ang serbisyo ng aktres, ang Viva Films ni Vic del Rosario, o, ang OctoArts ni Orly Ilacad.

BONGGA ang ginanap na presscon ng ABS-CBN para sa pagbababalik ng soap operang Maging Sino Ka Man na magsisimula na sa Dec. 10 sa Primetime Bida. Naka-all white ang lahat ng cast. Bukod tanging si Boyet de Leon lang na may sakit the other night ang hindi nakarating.

Sa teaser na nakita na-ming during the presscon, very obvious na mas pinalaki ang book 2 ng MSKM. Tatlong director din ang hahawak ng soap and they are Rory Quintos, Mae Cruz at FM Reyes.

Bukod kina John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Christopher de Leon, Chinchin Gutierrez, Sam Milby at Anne Curtis, kasama na rin sa soap opera sina Rosanna Roces, Derek Ramsey, Angelica Panganiban at Toni Gonzaga. Si Angelica ang magiging kontrabida ni Bea rito. Tatarayan niya to-the-max ang beauty ni Bea, huh!

Teka, maging effective kaya siya sa kanyang role bilang mataray na half-sister ni Bea?

Anyway, labanan ng pagalingan sa pag-arte at pag-hahanap sa iba’t ibang hugis at kulay ng pag-ibig ang main plot ng Maging Sino Ka Man. Tiyak na buo na naman ang gabi naming dahil mapapanood na ulit naming ang Best Primetime Drama Series ng PMPC Star Awards for Television.

3rd UPDATE) Trillanes, Lim call for Arroyo's ouster

A group of soldiers facing charges for a 2003 coup plot called for President Arroyo's removal Thursday after walking out of a court hearing at the Makati City Hall.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes and Army Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim marched out of a Makati courtroom and joined civilians and uniformed military personnel armed with M-16 and M-14 rifles. The soldiers, some of whom were carrying Magdalo flags, marched along Makati Avenue and entered the Manila Peninsula Hotel.

"This is a withdrawal of support. We are joining our people in calling for the removal of the President," Lim announced over radio dzMM. He added that they made the call because the President continues to violate the Constitution with impunity by plundering the treasury.

Trillanes also called on the people to join them in Makati. "Magsama-sama tayo. Nanawagan po kami sa taongbayan na naniniwala sa pagbabago. Join us po," he said.

Former vice president Teofisto Guingona, who was marching with the rebel soldiers, said the move echoes the call of various groups to reject Mrs. Arroyo's "morally bankrupt" administration. Reports said a group of farmers have already joined the march.

Leah Navarro of the Black and White Movement said members of the civil society group will also join Trillanes.

The walkout occurred several minutes after the start of a court hearing at Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 148.

Lim was summoned to attend the hearing as a witness in the coup trial of Trillanes and other junior officers allegedly involved in the botched July 2003 mutiny against Mrs. Arroyo.

The senator's lawyers summoned Lim to testify on the supposed negotiations at the height of the mutiny of the so-called Magdalo group.

“General Lim [was about to] testify when a guy in uniform grabbed him and brought him out of the courtroom. And the guy allegedly is a Magdalo officer and he was accompanied by several officers… and they brought him down,” Lim's lawyer Vicente Verdadero said.

Trillanes’s camp said Lim would testify that Mrs. Arroyo supposedly promised to spare all but the core leaders of the junior officers from criminal prosecution.

Lim was a member of the government negotiating panel headed by former Armed Forces chief Roy Cimatu. The stand-off between government troops and the Magdalo group ended peacefully after successful negotiations led to the surrender of the junior officers and soldiers who joined the Oakwood takeover.

Lim, who was the commanding officer of the Army's elite First Scout Ranger Regiment, was later accused of involvement in an aborted power grab in February 2006. He was detained in Camp Capinpin in Tanay, Rizal, along with former Philippine Marines Corps commandant Maj. Gen. Renato Miranda, Col. Ariel Querubin and several Army and Marines officers, pending trial by a court martial.

Isang very slim na Jennylyn Mercado ang dumalo sa presscon ng Resiklo—the official entry of Imus Productions for 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival—kahapon, November 28, sa Annabel's restaurant sa Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Jen plays the love interest of Bong Revilla sa futuristic movie na ginawa para sa mga bata, sa direksiyon ni Mark Reyes.

Kumusta naman working with Bong na first time niyang nakatrabaho?

"I'm honored and flattered nang malaman ko pong ako ang napili ni Senator Bong na makatambal niya," sagot ni Jen. "Masaya siyang katrabaho. Akala ko nga seryoso siya dahil isa siyang senador. Pero kapag nasa set siya, palabiro pala siya at hindi niya ipinakikitang mataas siya kesa amin. Nagbibiro siya at alaga niya ang buong cast at staff. Lagi kaming busog sa set dahil madalas siyang nagtatanong kung ano ang gusto naming kainin, ipabibili raw niya.

"Kaya po nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya sa pagkakataong ibinigay niya sa akin para makatrabaho siya at makasama rin ang ibang taga-ABS-CBN, tulad po nina TJ Trinidad, Michelle Madrigal, at si Empress Schuck. Although si Empress po, nakatrabaho ko na siya sa GMA-7 noong nandoon pa siya at iisa ang manager namin ."

Tinanong namin si Jennylyn tungkol sa mga intrigang kinasasangkutan niya, gaya ng ipinagpalit diumano niya ang Bahay Kubo sa Resiklo. Ayon kasi sa lumabas na balita ay kasama dapat si Jennylyn sa Bahay Kubo ng Regal Entertainment, pero mas pinili nga niya ang movie with Bong.

"Ang alam ko po, mas unang nag-offer ang Resiklo na tinanggap naman ng manager ko. Kasabay ko rin pong ginawa noon ang dalawang indie films—ang Nars at Manila West Side Story," paliwanag ng young actress.

Tinanggihan din ni Jennylyn ang isang primetime show sa GMA-7 na pagsasamahan sana nila ng ka-loveteam niya na si Mark Herras, ang Joaquin Burdado ni Robin Padilla. Ayaw ba niyang makasama si Robin o totoo ang balitang tumanggi siya dahil mas malaki ang role ni Cristine Reyes na isa sa magiging love interest ni Robin sa naturang palabas?

"Hindi po," tanggi ni Jennylyn. "Wala pong kinalaman doon si Cristine at hindi ko po tinanggihan si Robin. [b]Pinag-usapan po namin ‘yon ng manager ko at ang naging desisyon namin, huwag ko na lang gawin. Mayroon pa naman po akong soap na ginagawa, ang La Vendetta na hanggang January 2008 pa mapapanood."

May nasulat noon na gusto na ring lumipat ni Jennylyn sa ABS-CBN. Hindi kaya ito ang dahilan kaya tumatanggi na siya sa offers sa kanya ng GMA-7?

"Hindi naman po," tanggi niya. "Hanggang next year pa ang contract ko sa GMA Artist Center. Pag-uusapan pa rin po naman namin ‘yon ng manager ko at ng GMA. Pero hindi ko po isinasara ang pintuan na puwede akong lumipat sa ABS-CBN."

Incidentally, magbabalik ang character ni Mark sa La Vendetta. Request daw ito ng mga fans nila na gusto silang mapanood muli na magkasama.

"Salamat po sa kanila," sambit ni Jennylyn. "Mayroon nga po kaming taping ni Mark mamayang gabi [November 28] sa Sta. Rita, Pampanga. Abangan na lang po nila ang eksenang ‘yon dahil very touching."

Magkasama rin sina Jennylyn at Mark papuntang Okinawa, Japan sa December 1 at babalik sila sa Pilipinas pagkalipas ng dalawang araw.

Darating ngayong hapon (4:30 p.m. via Philippine Air Lines) mula sa Singapore si Gina Pareño at dala nito ang Best Actress trophy na napanalunan niya kagabi, November 29, sa 12th Asian Television Awards na ginanap sa Suntec International Convention 1.

Si Gina ang nanalo sa Best Drama Performance by an Actress category ng Asian TV Awards (ATA) para sa performance niya sa "Rehas" episode ng Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Madaling-araw nang makatanggap ng text message ang PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) mula kay Gina na tuwang-tuwa sa bagong international award na natanggap niya.

Ilang linggo bago siya nagpunta sa Singapore, malakas ang kutob ni Gina na malaki ang kanyang pag-asa na manalo dahil panay ang paalala sa ABS-CBN executives ng organizer ng ATA na kailangang dumalo ang aktres sa awards night.

Inimbitahan din si Gina na maging award presenter dahil nalaman ng mga organizer na international best-actress awardee siya.

Tumanggap din ng parangal sa ATA ang Bandila ng ABS-CBN at Reporter's Notebook ng GMA-7. Ang Bandila ang nagwaging Best News Program para sa coverage nila ng "Subic Rape Case Promulgation." Best Current Affairs Program naman ang Reporter's Notebook para sa kanilang episode na "Giyera sa Lebanon."

Maraming nominasyon sa ATA ang iba't ibang programa ng ABS-CBN at GMA-7, pero tanging si Gina, ang Bandila at Reporter's Notebook ang pinalad na magwagi.

New Filipino channels buy American


ASIA TV FORUM: Philippines-based Creative Programs (CPI) has launched three basic cable channels in recent weeks – Balls, Maxxx and Velvet – and this week stocked up on US content for the latter two.

[Natpe - ] To fill female-skewing channel Velvet, the 100% subsidiary of ABS-CBN Broadcasting has sealed a multi-year volume deal with Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific), its first dealings with the US studio.

The agreement includes talkshow The View and ABC News' early morning newscast Good Morning America, marking the first time both shows have sold into South-east Asia, said Disney-ABC.

The View, exec-produced and hosted by Barbara Walters (20/20) and in its 11th season stateside, will air live on Velvet while Good Morning America will air two hours after the US live telecast. CPI also took sci-fi drama Three Moons Over Milford for Velvet.

For male-skewing channel Maxxx, CPI has acquired Dirt, a drama series about a sleazy tabloid magazine, exec-produced by and starring Courtney Cox, plus some Touchstone and Miramax films such as Seabiscuit and Miracle.

The other new cable channel launched recently by CPI is sports channel Balls. Headed by Jose Ramon Olives, CPI already operates Filipino movie channel Cinema One, the Lifestyle Network, music channel MYX and animé station Hero TV.

Last year’s Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo was a top-grosser in the Metro Manila Film Festival and has raked many awards including best actress, best director and best picture from different awards-giving bodies.

The Metro Manila Film Festival Entry picks up where the prequel left off. It centers on being responsible parents, good children to parents and commitment of husbands and wives.

Real life sweethearts Judai and Ryan star as Angie and Jed. The story revolves around the couple and presents how parenthood takes over them.

“Ginawa naming mas makatotohan ang pelikula,” asserts Judai. “Ito na yata ang pinakamagaang trabaho na ginawa ko. Nagmature kami as tao at bilang magkarelasyon.”

A rebel who finds himself falling in love with Fiona. Surprisingly, Alfonso says this is as far from reality when it comes to real life, "Me and my character are total opposites. I'm not musically inclined whatsoever. To prepare for the role, I have a close friend who is exactly like Daniel's character, a musician na non-conformist. So I asked him for advice on the role, like what to wear, etc."



Initially, Alfonso did not plan to follow in his parent's footsteps. Having been exposed to showbiz early in life, he felt that it was not for him. "This job has its pros and cons. When I was younger, I was in denial about it, kasi I would get teased about it. I i would get put on the spot and I didnt enjoy it, so i always thought i'd never want to get into showbusiness. i wanted to run somewhere far, far away," he admits. It was when he accompanied his dad Albert to ane event that got him thinking about giving acting a try. "I would offer to be the driver for my dad during summer. Yun na yung pinaka-bonding time namin. Then I escorted him to a presscon and Mr. Johnny Manahan asked me if I was interested in taking acting workshops kasabay ng Star Circle 15 for fun lang. After two months of doing it, I realized i was enjoying it na. That's when I told my dad I wanna give it a shot," Alfonso recalls. His parents support him based on one condition: that he has to continue studying. Alfonso plans to enroll in DLSU next year to continue his third year in college.



The twenty-year-old also shares that we was supposed to be part of the PBB Celebrity Season 2 cast, but decided to back out at last minute. He admits that this is a decision he does not regret. "I'm enjoying working here in Abt Ur Luv. We're like one big barkada. Everyone in the cast are friends. It's always fun," he explains. Contrary to what others may think, the road to showbiz was not the easiest decision for him to make, which is why he did not enter into it earlier. "Kasi when I was younger, I was fat. Its hard to maintain my weight talaga. Its like the one thing that sucked when I went abroad because I'm such a rice person. iI love rice. I eat in a "karpintero" style na konting ulam lang on one mountain of rice. So until now its hard. Tapos I have a bad case of scoliosis so I was never allowed contact sports. I had to wear a full body brace in high school. My doctor said I was only allowed swimming or ballet. So my hobbies were all about computers. I'm a super techie. I do geeky stuff like build computers for my friends," he shares.



Alfonso, who took a year off to go to the states and become independent, admits that it was a good experience for him to live alone. "I did my own laundry, dishes and the groceries. I cooked adobo and my favorite sinigang na baboy. I became a salesman and sold TV. I was able to buy my own car. It was a good experience. Now that I'm back, I know more about what I can do and what I want," he declares.

KUNG si Direk Joey Reyes ang masusunod, hanggang part two lang ang Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo at wala nang part three.

Kung gugustuhin ng Star Cinema na magkaroon ito ng part three, hindi na siya ang gagawa.

“Hanggang dito na lang ang gusto ko. Knowing when to leave is the best way you can do,” paliwanag ni Direk.

Nag-location ang SSS sa Barcelona at pinasasalamatan ni Direk Joey ang mga Pinoy doon na tumulong sa kanila para maging maayos ang kanilang trabaho.

“The sweetest and most accommodating in the world” ang description niya sa mga kababayan natin.

“The experience was beautiful. Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities in the world at lalo pang naging beautiful ’yun dahil sa mga Pinoy,” dagdag na pahayag ng director.

Parehong mahal ni Direk Joey ang Katas ng Saudi at SSS, kaya sa December 24 parade, hahatiin niya ang kanyang oras. Mauuna siya sa karosa ng Maverick Films at saka lilipat sa Star Cinema float.

anyway, off-topic: i just finised watching butterfly fly fly and it was really good. i finished the 20 episodes drama in 3 days. puyatan hanggang 2am ng umaga, kahit ilang beses ko sabihin sa sarili ko dapat 3 episodes per night lang pero di makatigil at umabot ng 5 episodes sa isang gabi.

currently watching queen of the game. now in episode 2. gwapo talaga ni joo jin mo but he was hotter in fashion 70s kesa dito. lee bo young is really pretty. how i wish i have a skin like her. nakakainggit...

Competition was temporarily forgotten as technical crewmen of ABS-CBN News helped GMA-7 personnel douse the fire that gutted the latter's remote generator set parked for the reopening of The Peninsula Manila in Makati City Monday.

Several ABS-CBN crewmen rushed to help their colleagues after GMA’s generator overheated around 7:30 p.m.

GMA’s two small fire extinguishers were not enough to control the blaze, prompting the ABS-CBN crew to help out by using their own anti-fire kit.

GMA, meanwhile, expressed its gratitude for the assistance.

"Please extend our thanks to your technical team at the Manila Pen(insula) for helping our van personnel put out the fire in our remote set-up. Maraming salamat (Thank you very much)," Grace dela Peña, GMA news director, said in a text message.

MULTI-award winning actor Phillip Salvador is very thankful for the opportunity given to him by Malou Santos, the managing director of Star Cinema, to be part of the cast of “Maging Sino Ka Man” Book 2 which returns to TV screens on December 10.

Kuya Ipe was honest to admit that he approached and asked Malou for an acting job. He had been inactive for six years and during those times, he’d only do occasional TV guest stints. That’s why he’s very thankful to the Lord, and to Malou for the chance to put his acting skills into good use.

“She told me to just sleep and she will take care of the rest,” Kuya Ipe said. After a few days, he received a call from her and he was offered to portray the role of Mateo in “Maging Sino Ka Man” that was then winding up its stint on air. The series was almost over but Kuya Ipe was assured by Malou that there would be a Book 2 of the series.

Despite the trials that he had been going through these months (the case filed against him by his ex- partner of which Kuya Ipe was convicted is still under appeal), Kuya Ipe said that God is still very good to him. He considers his inclusion in the cast of “Ma-ging Sino Ka Man” as a very big blesssing.

Buena-mano si Ai-Ai delas Alas sa pagiging Santa Claus dahil last December 1, kasabay ng grand opening ng kanyang Ai Sarap restaurant (Kyusi Branch) ay naganap ang kanyang Christmas party for the press.

Ayon kay Ai-Ai, naging maganda ang pasok sa kanya ng year 2007 although may mga na-experience din siyang kaunting problema. Pero dahil daw sa mga setback na ito ay mas naa-appreciate niya ang magagandang nangyari sa kanyang buhay lalo na sa kanyang career.

"Marami akong dapat ipagpasalamat this year," panimula ni Ai-Ai. "I had shows abroad, sa Amerika, Japan, Guam, and even sa mga provinces like Cebu. Maraming raket, naging endorser pa ako ng isang gamot. Pumirma ako ng panibagong kontrata sa ABS-CBN, ang daming guestings din. May regular primetime show din ako, ang Princess Sarah.

"Naging successful pa ang birthday concert kong Ai-Ai: The Greatest Performance of My Life last November 16 sa Araneta. Bongga rin ang movie namin ni Rufa Mae [Quinto] na Pasukob. That's why I really have so much to thank for this year."

Kuwento pa ni Ai-Ai, noon pa man ay gusto na niyang magtayo ng restaurant business kaya kumuha siya ng course sa Center for Culinary Arts (CCA). Two years ang kurso niya at kailangan niya pang tapusin ang one year to reach Level 5 para magkaroon siya ng certificate.

"Ang OA ko kasi at ang gusto ko talagang makuha doon ay diploma for Culinary. E, two years 'yon at talagang madugo dahil almost P300,000 ang tuition fee. Dream ko talagang magkaroon ng 24-hour resto at sobrang happy ako dahil unti-unti na itong natutupad.

"Natutuwa kasi ako 'pag nagluluto, e. Ito ang napili ko kasi sa pagkain, walang lugi basta masarap ang ihahain mo sa customer at hindi yung sarap-sarapan lang. I have two more branches, isa sa Manila at isa sa Pasig. It's all doing fine kaya ang sarap ng feeling," masayang kuwento ng comedienne.

Among her specialty dishes daw ay carbonara, nilagang baka, breaded porkchop and chicken, at lechon kawali.

CHRISTMAS LOVE. Samantala, since nalalapit na ang Christmas, tinanong namin si Ai-Ai kung paano niya ba ito isine-celebrate at kinumusta rin namin ang kanyang lovelife ngayon.

"Siyempre, I'll be with my family," sambit niya. "And continous pa rin yung pagtulong ko every Christmas sa Missionaries of Charity sa Tondo [Poorest of the Poor], yung kay Mother Theresa. I always try to share every blessings I got sa mga nangangailangan.

"Tungkol sa lovelife ko, wala ang pangit!" tawa niya. "'Pag ‘yan ang tanong, walang katorya-torya, walang kakuwenta-kuwenta akong kausap."

Sa career ay masaya naman daw siya kaya wala na siyang mahihiling pa. Busy siya ngayon sa taping ng Volta The Series na magsisimulang ipalabas next year sa ABS-CBN.

Sobrang thankful din daw siya sa importansiyang ibinibigay sa kanya ng Kapamilya network. Wala raw siya talagang pinagsisisihan sa ginawa niyang pagpirma ulit dito. Kahit daw paminsan-minsan ay nagloloka-lokahan siya ay lagi siyang iniintindi ng ABS-CBN. It pays to be loyal talaga, sabi ni Ai-Ai.

Magsu-shoot na rin daw siya ng movie sa Star Cinema, Ang Tanging Ina Ninyong Lahat under the direction of Wenn Deramas, plus ang first tambalan nila ng action superstar na si Robin Padilla sa isang pelikula under Viva Films.

"Oo naman, super excited!" bulalas niya. "Sa tingin ko, may magic kami ni Robin, e. I do hope mag-click ang tambalan namin. Sigurado ako riot ito sa aming dalawa. Delicious at yummy ang lolo mo, ‘no!"

LALONG nadagdagan ang pera ni Manny Pacquiao sa una niyang regular TV show na Pinoy Records sa GMA 7.

Tumangging magbigay ng figures ang isa sa mga executive ng GMA 7 na nakausap namin sa presscon ng nasabing programa tungkol sa talent fee ni Manny.

Pero hindi niya itinangging maraming zero sa talent fee na ibinabayad nila sa Pambansang Kamao.

Per taping ang bayad kay Manny pero sa kabuuan, pan-superstar ang halaga ng tinatanggap nito para sa programa.

Dahil rin sa status ni Manny, ang GMA 7 ang nag-a-adjust sa kanyang availability.

Toni Gonzaga is not settling down anytime soon despite her steady relationship with commercial model/director Paul Soriano. The very competent TV host of Pinoy Big Brother also revealed that with the current state of her career and love life, she can^t ask for anything more.

Without batting an eyelash, Toni reveals that her current relationship is getting stronger. Despite their busy schedules they see to it that they talk over the phone on a daily basis.

Nonetheless, getting married is still far fetched.

Actor Piolo Pascual in a recent interview welcomed the willingness of talk show host/columnist Lolit Solis to make an apology to him and fellow actor Sam Milby. He added that he hopes that it would happen soon.

"Kung mangyayari po yun, sana mangyari yon soon, para bago mag-Pasko e, may makita tayong improvement (tungkol sa kaso)," said Piolo. This is his response to Lolit's TV interview yesterday (December 5), saying she is open to the idea of apologizing to him and Sam.

But in a press statement released recently by the two actors's camp, it read: ¨ABS-CBN Star Magic artists Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby are not withdrawing the libel case against Ms. Lolit Solis."

inaabangan ko talaga every year ang xmas station id and xmas special ng abs-cbn. i'm fond of stars sighting. dati i even made a list of stars na nakita ko sa mga programs nila. nung una, kaya ko pang i catch up, syempre konti pa lang artista nila before. ngayon, star magic talents pa lang, dami na nila. hirap i pinpoint kung sinu-sino sila. pati sa station id nila, dahil sa fast paced ng mga eksena, i couldn't recognized some of them. like yung kay jake and roxanne, when it was premiered in asap, i didn't see them. i was complaining pa why they weren't there. but when i watched it again via youtube, andun pala sila. still, when it comes to abs-cbn xmas station id and xmas specials, the best sila. the production numbers, the songs, it was well-planned.

Three years after the king of Philippine movies died, Fernando Poe Jr.'s legacy continues to live on. An upcoming TV special entitled "Alay ni Da King: An FPJ Special," will present FPJ's great contribution to the local entertainment industry. The TV special will also affirm why FPJ's name has become synonymous to a movie icon.

The two-hour long special tribute features today's brilliant actors and actresses who have worked with Da King in the past years. These stars will give their own accounts of FPJ both in the professional and personal level.

The highlight of the TV special is a 38-minute long music video, which FPJ himself produced days before he died. The video features songs of his choice with memorable clips from his significant movies. Ms. Charo Santos-Concio, who hosts the TV special, said that the video reflects how much FPJ loved his country. Viewers will see that many of the clips showcase beautiful shots of the Philippines from FPJ movies. Charo herself became a leading lady to three FPJ films.

Susan Roces, wife of FPJ, explained that the donation proceeds to be collected from the TV special will go to Mowelfund, which looks after the welfare of less fortunate people in the entertainment industry.



Susan revealed that when FPJ was still alive, he told her that the video will be giving back his appreciation because he was loved by the industry.

"Alay ni Da King: An FPJ Special" will be shown on Sunday, December 9, after That's My Doc.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta made it clear that she would not want to be partnered in a movie with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion, whose tandem became the biggest love team in the 80s. This is her response following the latest buzz that Gabby is coming back to the country to try his luck again in showbiz next year.

"I don't think I have the heart to put my husband and children through that (kind of situation)," the Megastar said.

She made it clear that she would not allow herself to be dragged into the pit of relentless intrigues, which could arise from getting involved with Gabby even on a professional level.

Their fight rose from a misunderstanding about a search-and-confiscate operation of the Optical Media Board (OMB), where Edu Manzano is the current chairman. Senator Bong on the other hand, the previous chairman, is still the chairman of the Oversight Committee of OMB.

The simple rift was blown out of proportions and the two “magkumpare” engaged into spiteful accusations on public television. Possibly the worse part of the verbal battle is questioning each others capabilities in their respective positions.

It’s nothing personal—Sen. Bong

“I know he is trying his best,” said the senator, who in a previous interview openly said that if he would rate Edu as OMB chairman, it is “below average.”

He made it clear that he is not attacking Edu on a personal level.

The game-show host made it clear that with what has happened, it is not only his life that has been put into the line but also the lives of other people, especially the staff members of the OMB. Edu revealed that there are regular receives death threats as OMB chairman.

“At this point in time, you have hurt my family (not only me),” Edu said. “How can I forgive you?”

The game-show host said that their misunderstanding cannot be simply fixed by a mere sorry.
