KBS World-Korea expands reach to the Philippines and Singapore

KBS World, the international cable and satellite channel operated by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), has inked carriage deals in the Philippines and Singapore.

Beginning 1 September, the channel will be available in the Philippines via Central CATV, reaching about one million homes. KBS World will be available for all Central CATV subscribers as a basic channel.

On 1 October, KBS will launch on Singaporean cable platform Starhub, reaching 300,000 households on the digital basic service.

KBS has also entered a strategic alliance with ABS-CBN in the Philippines to increase cooperation in programme distribution and co-production

GMA’s Asian Treasures may be raking in the big chunk of the early evening audience, but ABS-CBN’s two new soap opera—Sana Maulit Muli and Maging Sino Ka Man—are proving to be formidable competitors in the late-night drama block.

The unexpected popularity of the two shows, vis-á-vis the effects laden shows on GMA, seems to prove a point that late-night viewers have reached a saturation point in fantasy-based series. Now, they could be longing for a drama series that hits the heart rather than just the eyes.

While special effects enhance the visual appeal of a show, exposure to them for a long period of time can also make them inure to them. (In medicine, when a patient doesn’t respond to a certain drug, he is referred to as drug resistant.)

The young love team of Kim Chui and Gerald Anderson is proving to be more a headache for GMA executives than they imagined. Now, Bakekang, which at the beginning showed a lot of promise, is plodding rather miserably in the ratings. What went wrong? Again, this is the problem of the writers working with Wilma Galvante who heads the network’s production group. They come up with bright ideas at the beginning, but they get lost along the way. While muddling through interesting plot points to keep the story moving, the writers at ABS-CBN have already found more interesting situations, better staged confrontations, well-directed performances that simply gets viewers hooked five nights a week. Never mind if the main storyline is as hogwash as many movies in the ’50s and ’60s. The young actors—Sam Milby, Anne Curtis, Bea Alonso, and most especially John Lloyd Cruz, are giving a new texture to acting in conventional TV dramas. Honestly, I am now able to sit through without getting uneasy about bad acting. Even Christopher de Leon is delightfully watchable again. Oh, yes, I love his evil ways in Maging Sino Ka Man.

Wala pa kaming dagdag na detalye sa Buhawi Jack, gaya ng kung sino ang director at kasama sa cast ng dalawa. Ang tiniyak ng aming source, ikatutuwa ng husto ni Vhong ang pagpayag ni Judy Ann na siya’y maka-trabaho.

Seriously?! Heroes is such a poor X-Men rip off! Some call it the new Lost but it's miles away from Lost in terms of quality. At least Lost has some semblance of originality compared to the retarded plotline of Heroes.

I was very disappointed with this series. They're trying so hard to bring comics to TV but the adaptation is not good at all.

I'm so annoyed by the character of Masi Oka that I just want him to die a horrible death.

Studio 23 should not get this series.

Sana magpalabas uli ABS ng US Tv shows na hindi "tagalized."

I miss the ABS-CBN Friday nights hits during the nineties like Baywatch and Melrose Place.

Sayang yung binabayad nila sa rights dahil hindi masyado mataas ratings ng mga US hit shows sa Studio 23 simply because hindi lahat ng tv may reception ng Studio 23.

The reason why Alias and 24 became very popular here is because they were shown in the main ABS channel. My only problem during that time was the versions were tagalized.

Kahit one hour of programming lang everyday sana mabigyan ng slots yung hit US tv series sa ABS. Tanggalin na lang yung Mirada de Mujer dahil sobrang baba naman ng ratings non. Sayang lang sa air time. I'm sure mas mataas ratings ng US shows if it will be shown after 11:30 pm on ABS versus showing it on Studio 23 primetime.

Hanggang February 23 na lang pala ang Kapamilya Deal or No Deal and this time, sure na ang pagbabu ng game show sa ere, wala na talagang extension.

Kailangan na raw talagang magbawas ng load ni Kris Aquino dahil nga heavy with child na ang TV host at ang mismong staff ng KDOND ang nagsasabing dapat na siyang mamahinga.

Kung si Tetay daw kasi ang tatanungin, ayaw niyang bitawan ang programa dahil sa rami ng nagri-request na huwag muna itong tsugihin. Pero concerned ang staff sa health ni Kris dahil buhay nga naman ang pinag-uusapan dito. Kaya sila na ang nakiusap sa TV host na rest na muna.

Pero hindi dapat malungkot ang avid followers ng show dahil kumpirmadong babalik ito sa July, pagkapanganak ni Kris. First week ng May naka-schedule manganak si Tetay.

Very ambitious project daw ng GMA-7 (ang network na nag-aalaga ng mga
sikyo na mga ilu at feeling nagtatrabaho sa Malacañang kaya sobrang
mangbaboy sa press) ang Asian Treasures.

Bida rito ang mala-tidal wave ang arrive na si Robin Padilla (hijo,
ang maaangas ay sa kangkungan dinadampot at talagang nawawalan ng
career, di ba Philip Salvador?) at ng angel-faced daw (kapag
nakukulapulan lang ng emyas, otherwise, it's Nightmare On Elm Street
again ... Ha! Ha! Ha!) na si Angel Locsin na piki at mala-Regine
Velasquez ang tayo. Ha! Ha! Ha!

And as always, 41.8% kunetch ang kanilang initial rating.

Para bang `yung Darna noon ni Locsin na 50% kuno ang rating ng
initial episode, only to become hardly 30% later on because of the
flimsiness of the material, horrible computer graphics and amateurish
trick shots.

Sa ngayon, pilit kinukumpara nila (the GMA paid hacks of course) ang
obra maestro raw nina Binoe at Angel ek sa Sana'y Maulit Muli nina
Kim Chiu at Gerald Anderson

Ketbalites?

Hindi naman ito ang kasabay nila, `noh? At magkaiba naman sila ng
genre.

Action adventure series `yung sa GMA, samantalang light drama naman
itong sa Dos with a little touch of fantasy thrown for good measure.

Ang katapat talaga ng series nina Binoe ay ang game show ni Tetay na
Deal Or No Deal. And so far, ang latest rating, 35.4% ang Asian
Treasures at 31.1% naman `yung KDOND.

And to think that GMA is spending truckloads of dough on that
project, while ABS-CBN has got very little expenses involved in
staging their game show knowing pretty well how very minimal the
salaries of the 26K girls in there and Krizzy baby is being paid not
on a per show basis but on a packaged deal agreement.

In effect, who's losing and who's winning?

Channel 2, of course. Kadalasan naman ay barya-barya lang ang naiuuwi
ng mga contestants sa KDOND, whereas GMA has to maintain the quality
of their adventure series.

Parang `yung Captain Barbell nila na eventually ay nilampaso ng game
ni Tetayski dahil sa untakable special effects at gross CB costume
ng, in fairness, ay gwaping namang si Richard Gutierrez.

For your information, mga ining, Bakekang ang katapat ng soap nina
Kim Chiu at as of presstime, lampaso nila ito with Sana Maulit Muli
garnering an impressive 32.1% at ang Kengbakeks a tolerable 27.5%.

Ang dapat talagang itapat sa series nina Angel ek ay `yung Rounin
nina Diether Ocampo at Luis Manzano dahil belong sila sa iisang genre

Magandang buenamano sa taong 2007 ang pelikulang Agent X44 ni Vhong Navarro.

Alam natin na ni-negotiate ang project na ito ni Direk Chito Roño na manager ni Vhong sa mga Laxa (Atty. Espiridion Laxa at Tony Ferrer) para kay Vhong.

Iyon lang, nang magsisimula na ang project, abala si Chito sa Sukob kaya napunta ang Agent X44 kay Joyce Bernal.

After the success ni Vhong sa pelikula, dapat sa telebisyon naman siya. Kaya this time, may project para sa kanya sa Komiks series.

Tatapusin na ang na-extend for 14 Saturdays na Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko sa Komiks series.

Ang isusunod nila ay ang Buhawi Jack na isang project for Vhong.

Si Chito Roño ang magdidirek nito para sa telebisyon.

Kinukuha nila si Gina Pareño para gumanap na ina ni Jack na si Loida.

Naka-schedule na ang taping nito starting early February. Pinaplantsa na ito for Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule.

Tamang-tama dahil March o April ang simula ng syuting ng Sharon Cuneta movie ni Direk Chito sa London. Isang Pinay caregiver si Sharon sa pelikula.

the gains made in the last few weeks in the ratings game by abscbn seem to be slipping or losing grounds. put princess hours in an earlier timeslot so it can get more viewers. it has solid followers in its very late timeslot . please do it as we don't want our kids to stay up so late. imagine my 14 year old niece and 18 year old ddaughter staying up till 11:3o pm just to catch an episode. have mercy on them please!

just wanna point out something...regarding the gulo in iloilo dinagyang festival, it wasn't matt evan's fault as reported by gma. grabe naman sila, gumawa naman ng kwento. anyway, andun kasi sa stage ang isa naming empleyado, he was there watching the show and waiting for the awarding ceremony. actually it was the fault of the organizing committee kasi di sila nagbigay ng tamang instructions sa kampo ng abs-cbn and abs-cbn naman inakala na it was already their call time, ayun ginawa ang dapat nilang gawin without knowing na nasa stage pa si sunshine. delay ang cause ng gulo. sa pagkaintindi ko 4-5pm ang performance time na bigay nila sa gma, and 5-6pm naman ang sa abs-cbn. ayun late na nagumpisa ang programa, umatras lahat ang schedule and nung 5pm siyempre performance time na ng abs-cbn at ayun innannounce ang name ni matt evans alyas pedro penduko. lumabas din si matt, gusto pa nga bumak-out nung nakita niya si sunshine pero nagkagulo na ang mga audiences at nagsigawan ng kanyang pangalan nung nakita siya, pangit naman kung tatago pa siya sa loob so lumabas na lang siya.

"Ang backstage po ay malayo at nasa ibaba pa, kaya hindi po namin alam kung sino ang tinatawag at kung sino ang nasa stage. Bigla po akong tinawag ng staff at ako na raw ang kasunod, so nagmadali po akong umakyat at hindi ko po alam na naroon si Sunshine kasi nga itinulak na akong palabas sa stage, nagulat na lang ako naroon pa pala si Sunshine.

In effect, who's losing and who's winning?

Channel 2, of course. Kadalasan naman ay barya-barya lang ang naiuuwi
ng mga contestants sa KDOND, whereas GMA has to maintain the quality
of their adventure series.

i agree na income din ang iniisip ng abs..of course business yan eh..di naman nag proproduce ang abs ng shows for charity marami rin silang employees na umaasa sa kanila..at least natuto na ang abs na gumawa ng hindi man high budgeted eh of quality pa rin..remember quantity(high prod. costs) does not translate to quality..kung hindi dekalidad ang shows ng abs hindi naman siguro siya maappreciate ng ibang tao from other asian countries:)

Yaan na nila si Gian Magdangal sa SOP, para madagdagan naman ang magaling dun and yung bumebenta sa tao. I mean, lets face it, magaling yung ibang Pinoy Pop Superstars nila, pero ang tanong, million dollar question, BUMEBENTA BA SA PUBLIKO? Ang albums ba naghihit? Jonalyn Viray is there na for 3 years na, may career ba? Maganda ang boses, pero may name recall ba?

Thats precisely the point. Maganda nga ang ratings mo sa Maynila (kuno) pero kung ang mga pelikula na pinoproduce mo nilalangaw and mga recording artists mo hindi bumebenta, so whats the point na number one ka sa Maynila? pang Mega Manila televisions lang ang career mo. Kung gayon, libutin mo lahat ng jologs na lugar sa Maynila(pasintabi lang po, pero dun talaga nagnumber one ang Kapuso channel), tapos ipangalandakan mong number one ka.

Sa mga nagsosourgrapes, no comment. Basta number one kayo(GMA), Sa mga tv sets nga lang sa Mega Manila. Dalhin natin sa movies and recordings ang labanan, ewan ko kung san kayo pupulutin.

PHILIPPINES’ pride, singer Lani Misalucha, who has conquered Las Vegas by storm, will be in town for at least a month with a long line of engagements.

Or don’t you know that even the great Celine Dion felt insecure when her name started to spread like wildfire in the Las Vegas strip? Meanwhile, “ASAP’s” red carpet started rolling with Lea Salonga and Sharon Cuneta last week. Audiences were awed by the presence of the two big guests, especially Lea, who looked great when she sang her piece from “Le Miserables” which will open in Broadway in New York this March.

KINILALA kamakailan ng UP Broadcasters’ Society ang layunin ng ABS-CBN na mabigyan ang Pinoy ng mga kalidad na programa sa Gandingan 2007: UPLB Isko’t Iska’s Broadcast Choice Awards, ang pinaka-unang UP-based na parangal para sa mga broadcasters at broadcast programs.

Base sa mga boto ng estudyante ng UP, lumabas na si Korina Sanchez ang Best Newscaster para sa Bandila at Best Magazine Program Host naman para sa Rated K. Patok na patok rin si MYX “It” girl Iya Villania bilang Best Video Jock habang si Boy Abunda naman ang pinangalanan na Best Talk Show Host para sa Homeboy. Of course, former Pres. Cory Aquino couldn’t say no to her daughter Kris Aquino (who’s heavy with her and husband James Yap’s first child, a boy due last week of May).

So on Feb. 14, Kris’ 36th birthday, Tita Cory will play on Kris’ ABS-CBN game show Deal or No Deal in which other bigwigs have guested, including Vice Pres. Noli de Castro and ‘politically-ambitious’ Manny Pacquiao.

It wasn’t the first time Tita Cory is guesting on Kris’ show. She had also appeared on Kris’ Sunday show The Buzz, also to celebrate Kris’ birthday.

Tita Cory taped the show’s Valentine episode yesterday.

Asked if she’d be ‘biased’ and let her mom win (millions of pesos at stake), Kris told Funfare, ‘How can I do that?’

Meaning, unlike in Philippines elections, there’s no cheating.

just wanna point out something...regarding the gulo in iloilo dinagyang festival, it wasn't matt evan's fault as reported by gma. grabe naman sila, gumawa naman ng kwento. anyway, andun kasi sa stage ang isa naming empleyado, he was there watching the show and waiting for the awarding ceremony. actually it was the fault of the organizing committee kasi di sila nagbigay ng tamang instructions sa kampo ng abs-cbn and abs-cbn naman inakala na it was already their call time, ayun ginawa ang dapat nilang gawin without knowing na nasa stage pa si sunshine. delay ang cause ng gulo. sa pagkaintindi ko 4-5pm ang performance time na bigay nila sa gma, and 5-6pm naman ang sa abs-cbn. ayun late na nagumpisa ang programa, umatras lahat ang schedule and nung 5pm siyempre performance time na ng abs-cbn at ayun innannounce ang name ni matt evans alyas pedro penduko. lumabas din si matt, gusto pa nga bumak-out nung nakita niya si sunshine pero nagkagulo na ang mga audiences at nagsigawan ng kanyang pangalan nung nakita siya, pangit naman kung tatago pa siya sa loob so lumabas na lang siya.

in short it wasn't matt's fault nor abs-cbn iloilo's fault. inamin naman ng organizing committee kanina sa radyo na nagkamali sila at nag apologize sila sa kampo ng gma. huwag kayo maniwala sa sasabihin ni dorothy something whoever she is, blaming abs-cbn and matt sa pagbabastos kay sunshine dizon. for sure she's just making eksena kasi mas sikat si pedro penduko kesa kay bakekang... :) peace!

Haaayyy naku! ganun talaga pag nasasapawan, mahirap kasing tanggapin ang katotohanan......na talagang sa Mega Manila lang sila No.1!!!!!......E akala ko ba ang news nila e walang kinikilingan??? Ang ganda ng MSKM kagabi!!! It is not just like any typical love story. Maganda ang execution ng bawat eksena and the emotions are full of ups and downs. Magaling ang writer ng soap na ito kasi for the past month, I felt the feelings of being in love, being betrayed, sorrow and revenge. Everytime na pinapanood ko talaga yung MSKM, masyado akong involved sa characters. I must say perfect talaga to. The whole cast deserves an acting award for their performances but I must say, John Lloyd deserves the best actor trophy for this. I think he deserves more than a local award for his performance in this show.

Housewife wins P2-M jackpot from 'Wowowee'


For the first time since the show started two years ago, the P2-million cash prize of ABS-CBN’s top rated noon time game show “Wowowee” was finally won Thursday, TV Patrol World reported.

Marilyn Magsayo, who joined in the “Pera o Bayong” portion of the program, is now a certified millionaire.

Magsayo is the mother of a one-year old child and a wife of a city hall surveyor.

The couple have long dreamed of owning a house and lot, which can now be realized.

Magsayo was the only contestant who chose yellow among the colors green, red and yellow in the game show’s multiple choice portion.

She stood by her choice, saying that the night before the show, she asked her child what color to choose. Her child told her to choose yellow, she said.

After surviving the elimination part, Magsayo chose a pink bayong (native bag) in the “Bayong” portion of the show. She said pink is her favorite color.

Host Willie Revillame offered as much as P120,000 in exchange for her bayong but she maintained her decision of taking home the bag for whatever amount it held.

Toward the end of the game, when Revilla asked Magsayo the famous line, “Pera o Bayong?,” she yelled back, “Bayong!”

And the rest was game show history.

Asked if she had anything to say, Magsayo blurted out a message for her husband, “Dad, baby I love you, matutupad na pangarap natin (Our dream will come true at last)."

Magko- comment lang ako sa mga naninira kay Yeng of PDA before.. hehe I saw kanina sa ASAP kasi I read from lots of newspaper ng kakapanalo pa lang niya na di daw assurance na magki click or mag hihit si Yeng with just one Hit Song.. well as I see her accomplishments..she's far away from other contest winners... far way better and quite successful in my own judgment. Here are some under her belt as of now:

1. PDA Vol 1-4 are still selling well in different record bars and managed to be on the album charts top 20 and alam ko eh me certifications na dn ung mga albums na ito not sure if gold or platinum...

2. She received her first ever award outside PDA just after 3 weeks her victory... MMFF best theme song for Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo

3. Sabi nila one hit song lang daw... as far as different radio stations that play her songs... 4 na kanta na nya ang naririnig ko everywhere I go...
Hawak Kamay, Salamat, Pangarap Lang, and If We Fall in Love... and hindi ko masasabing pinapatugtog lang because a lot of people are singing along with these songs and they were even made it to the radio stations countdown.

Lani Misalucha to guest on ASAP '07


Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha will come home on February 17 from her stint at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas to promote a new album and a coming concert. On Sunday, February 18, Misalucha will start her promotion tour with her guest appearance on ABS-CBN's television variety show ASAP '07.

Misalucha's homecoming concert will be held on March 17 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Prior to her concert Misalucha will be busy promoting her new self-titled album through TV guestings and mall tours.

She will fly back to Las Vegas after a few days in Manila and return to the country in March for her concert.

Dubbed as Multiplex Queen, Misalucha can mimic voices of singers such as Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand and Britney Spears.

Misalucha became the first Asian to headline in a main showroom on the Las Vegas Strip, performing with Hawaii's premiere showband, Society of Seven, at the world-famous Jubilee Theatre of the Bally's Hotel.

Young couple Heart Evangelista and Jericho Rosales have resumed their acting career in ABS-CBN, TV Patrol World reported Tuesday.

"I gave way lang [to] writing songs," Jericho, who launched his band Jeans last year, told TV Patrol World's Nina Corpus when asked why he took a break from acting.

The two stars, whose last project in the Kapamilya network was the 2005-2006 action-fantaserye "Panday," have accepted separate projects.

Heart will appear in a Valentine episode of the weekly romance television series "Your Song," which reunites her with former reel-to-real sweetheart John Prats. She will also host a variety show and star in a Star Cinema movie.

Jericho has, meanwhile, agreed to do a soap opera opposite drama princess Claudine Baretto.

Heart left Star Magic, ABS-CBN's talent management arm, when her contract expired early last year. She joined the Genesis talent management company headed by Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, the wife of singer Gary V.

She and Jericho have been inseparable since their romance blossomed on the set of "Panday."

The two will reportedly go to Boracay to celebrate Heart's 22nd birthday on February 14.

While Jericho admitted that he is having a house built for Heart, he said it is too early to talk about wedding bells.

1% of Anything is a Korean drama starring Kim Jung Hwa of Nonstop fame. It will replace It's a weekend drama replacing It Started With A Kiss after the show finishes its run on ABS-CBN. Meron na nagbebenta ng Spring Waltz, try looking at 168, Divisoria, Ongpin, Quiapo, or Greenhills. Maganda ang kwento, for me it's the best installment among the 4 season. Maganda ang soundtracks and cinematography... :)

Pinoy Big Brother 2 will be launched on Feb. 25 at the Pinoy Dream Academy stage. More daring this time around, there will be 14 housemates: seven males and seven females including global Pinoys. The shortlist has not been firmed up; it will be trimmed down from 30 to 14 candidates this week. By the way, no celebrity and teen editions this year. Pinoy Dream Academy 2 follows third quarter.

Buzzstation hopes the new housemates will be exposed to more entertainment journalists. In the celebrity and teen editions and PDA, they were monopolized by a small group. This cartel caused participants to be less publicized, limiting exposure and star power.

Ire-remake din ng ABS-CBN ang isa sa mga pelikula ng Viva Films na Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.



Pinag-a-acting workshop na nga ang apat sa anim na Pinoy Dream Academy scholars na sina Yeng Constantino, Jay-R Siaboc, Ronnie Liang, at Irish Fullerton. Isasabak na rin kasi sila sa acting and from sources close to the group of singers, isang soap ang gagawin nila—the remake of the drama-musical movie nina Sharon Cuneta, Dina Bonnevie, and Cherie Gil na Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.



Sina Sarah Geronimo, Rica Peralejo, at Yeng ang gaganap sa characters ng tatlong bida. Earlier, it was supposed to be Sarah, Yeng, and Rachelle Ann Go.



The last time nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Rachelle prior to her Valentine concert with boyfriend Christian Bautista, nabanggit nga ni Rachelle that she is being offered a soap opera bukod pa sa unang pelikula na gagawin niya for Regal Films.



We were also told na aalisin ang pangalan ni Rachelle sa cast dahil baka mapunta sa kanya ang papel ni Cherie na isang kontrabida so she was replaced by Rica. Sarah is expected to play the role of Sharon while Yeng will play the role of Dina.



Kung saka-sakali, this will be the second time na gagampanan ni Sarah ang roles ni Sharon sa old movies ng Megastar. Nauna na rito ang TV version ng Bituing Walang Ningning.



Sarah was also slated to sana the remake of Sharon's first movie, ang Dear Heart, with former husband Gabby Concepcion. Pero hindi yata masyadong happy si Sharon sa pagre-remake ng kanyang mga pelikula kaya hindi na itinuloy ng Viva Films ang movie starring Sarah and John Lloyd Cruz sana.



Nagsisimula pa lang ang workshops nina Yeng and the other PDA at may Japan at US tours pa sila, ganun din si Sarah na may US concert with the champions, so hindi pa alam kung kailan sisimulan ang Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.



Si Rica, may bago nang show, another Viva remake—ang Palimos ng Pag-ibig that also starred Dina, just like Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas. Makakasama niya rito sina Diether Ocampo at Kristine Hermosa na gaganap sa mga characters na ginampanan nina Edu Manzano and Vilma Santos sa big screen.



Kung saka-sakaling matuloy ang Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas, ito ang ikalawang pagkakataon na gagamitin ng ABS-CBN ang nasabing titulo sa kanilang drama series. Matatandaang from 2003 to 2004 ay nagkaroon na ang Dos ng primetime drama series na may pamagat na Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas, starring Kristine Hermosa, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, and Angelika dela Cruz. Ang theme song na ginamit dito ay siya ring theme song na originally sung by Sharon Cuneta in the movie she starred in.

1% of Anything is a Korean drama starring Kim Jung Hwa of Nonstop fame. It will replace It's a weekend drama replacing It Started With A Kiss after the show finishes its run on ABS-CBN. Meron na nagbebenta ng Spring Waltz, try looking at 168, Divisoria, Ongpin, Quiapo, or Greenhills. Maganda ang kwento, for me it's the best installment among the 4 season. Maganda ang soundtracks and cinematography... :)

Lani Misalucha admits 'enhancement'


World-class singer Lani Misalucha has admitted undergoing cosmetic surgery but kept mum about which part of her body was "enhanced," DZMM reported Thursday.

Misalucha joked that she just woke up one day and was shocked that she was already lovely. She said her nose was enhanced after she got injections to treat pimples on her nose.

The singer, dubbed "Asia's Nightingale," is back in Manila from her stint in Las Vegas to promote her new album and homecoming concert at Araneta Coliseum on March 17.

Actor and model Jericho Rosales denied allegations that he walked out from a press conference after being asked about his former girlfriend and love team partner, Kristine Hermosa, ABS-CBN News reported. Real life sweethearts Heart Evangelista and Rosales faced the cameras with enthusiasm as they promoted their episode of ABS-CBN’s "Maalaala Mo Kaya", which will be aired on Friday and will feature the love story of Taguig mayor Freddie Tinga and wife Kaye.

At the press conference, the two said they are excited about their comeback episode but expressed that they are also prepared to be teamed up with other personalities.

Members of the entertainment press, however, were reported to have started bombarding Rosales with queries about Hermosa’s break up with fellow actor, Diether Ocampo.

Rosales politely answered some of the questions saying "With the Kristine and Diet (Ocampo’s nickname) break up... I don’t know. I wouldn’t want to mess their relationship. I would love for them to get back in each others arms again."

But the actor was alleged to be irritated toward the end and walked out.

Rosales denied walking out from the conference and instead said that he excused himself before he stood up and left.

Rosales added that he does not harbor any ill feelings toward Hermosa but said that it is not the right time for them to work together again.

The USTv Awards, which was held Tuesday night at the university's Medicine Auditorium in Manila, were drawn from the nominations of the 33,000-strong student body.

Actually mahirap magsalita about the rating games. Kasi eto lang ang gusto kong mabigyan ng kasagutan na matagal ko ng iniisip-isip talaga. Kung No. 1 ang station nyo bakit hindi No.1 mga stars nyo? Like for example, yung rating ng Bakekang mas mataas sa primetime (sabi nila ha!) compared kay Pedro Penduko...pero bakit nung magpersonal appearance sila ganun na lang ang galit ng mag-inang Sunshine Dizon kay Matt Evans kasi nga mas sya ang tinilian ng tao habang nasa stage pa si Sunshine? Tsaka ang mga movies naman na pinoproduce nila e hindi masyadong kumikita sa box office. Yun naman e opinion ko lang at tanong ko lang din sa sarili ko...hehehehehe!!

Kris recognized as 2006 top taxpayer

Television game show host and actress Kris Aquino was recognized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue as top individual taxpayer for Region seven in 2006, ABS-CBN News reported.

Records from the department revealed that Aquino paid an amount of P14.95 million for tax returns.

Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao came in second with a remittance of P13.12 million.

Other personalities who were recognized were comedian Michael V (P11.43 milion), director Edgar Mortiz (P6.22 million) and hair stylist Ricky Reyes (P3.55 million)

The recognitions given were part of BIR’s 2007 National Tax Campaign aimed at boosting BIR’s collections in Income Tax Returns this year.

Jose Mario Bunag, BIR commissioner, appealed to all tax payers to file their ITRs before the set deadline on April 16. Bunag warned tax evaders that the commission will strengthen its efforts in ensuring the proper and complete collection of tax returns. He added that BIR is set to acquire over P730 billion worth of tax in 2007.

ABS-CBN features Sunday back to back entertainment shows

ABS-CBN takes away those Sunday night blues as it showcases back to back entertainment shows that are sure to satisfy everyone’s appetite for feel-good programs.

ABS-CBN’s "Sharon" will set a sentimental mood on Sunday, recollecting some of its most memorable and meaningful episodes, as it celebrates the show’s first year anniversary.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta is set to invite some of her most valuable guests and showbiz friends to recap all the good times that happened in the studio during the past year.

Comedian Bayani Agbayani will co-host this special episode.

The APO Hiking Society confirmed their attendance in the event. The fun is expected to intensify when comic actor Vhong Navarro reunites with local dance group Streetboys in a very rare encounter.

Soul siren Nina, together with OPM artists MYPM and 6cyclemind, will sweep the viewers off their feet as they serenade the studio.

Among the "extraordinarily common people" who will appear in the show are traffic enforcer Larry Uggadan who appeared in "Sharon’s" pilot episode; Nicanor and John Tabor, father and son who were featured in the ‘Gay Pride’ episode; and the three underprivileged students who were granted with STI scholarships for them to continue their college studies.

"Sharon" will be shown right after Korina Sanchez’s "Rated K".

As "Sharon’s" anniversary episode comes to an end, the much-awaited second season of the hit reality show "Pinoy Big Brother" kicks off.

Fourteen strangers are set to live for about 100 days under a bigger and newly renovated house where their endurance and strength of character will be tested.

The show promises more challenging tasks and stricter rules for the 14 new housemates whose identities remain a secret.

Viewers’ participation is expected to spice up the launch of the show on Sunday since it will require the audience to choose the housemates who will complete the list of 14.

Mechanics will be announced during the PBB 2 launch.

The launch of PBB 2 will be hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, Bianca Gonzales and Jayson Gainza.

i only sneaked once yesterday to get a glimpse of hope but after that i turned off the tv. sabi lang ng kasambahay namin boring ang interview nila with the girl. walang kwenta, like what i previously posted, akala din niya may malaking pasabog pero wala naman pala. :)
