yes its true! naabutan ko kagabi ang chika minute ng 24 oras...i think next week ang pagpapalit ng mga timeslot...una na ang darna, next ang encantadia, followed by all about eve then last na ang extra challenge...i guess kapag nagtuloy-tuloy ang pagganda ng anghel na walang langit malamang gumawa din ang gma ng series na ganun din ang theme...lam nyo naman sila...:rolleyes:

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. reported a net loss of 114.3 million pesos in the first quarter to March, having made a net profit of 124.1 million pesos a year earlier, as its share of the television audience in the greater Manila area contracted further.

ABS-CBN, which a few years ago was leading the ratings, said its television audience share in the greater Manila area, which includes Metro Manila and the provinces of Rizal, Laguna and Batangas, dropped to 34 percent.



That was substantially less than the 46 percent audience share of its main rival, GMA Network Inc., in the same period.

ABS-CBN said its audience share in the greater Manila area in 2004 was 38 percent, against GMA's 42 percent. In 2003, it had 40 percent, against GMA's 34 percent.

ABS-CBN said airtime and other broadcasting-related revenues declined 7 percent year-on-year to 2.24 billion pesos. Excluding agency commissions, marketing expenses and co-producers' portions, revenues fell to 1.86 billion pesos from 1.98 billion pesos a year earlier.

However, ABS-CBN said net sales and services rose slightly to 1.15 billion pesos from 1.02 billion pesos a year earlier, owing to its growing audience outside the country.

Operating expenses rose 11 percent to 2.95 billion pesos, as production costs grew 15 percent to 1.04 billion pesos after the company launched new shows and more expensive soap operas.

Its all the stupidity of Gabby Lopez' business decisions! He picked the wrong guy to replace FMG (Freddie M. Garcia), the "Pied Piper" of Philippine TV, the guy who is responsible for ABS-CBN's glory days of the past.

Cito Alejandro, the current ABS-CBN President, is not from the broadcasting sector. He is from the food manufacturing sector, being chief executive officer for Kraft Philippines.

How does a guy like him know anything about the television business? It was said Gabby Lopez picked him out of he being one of the ABS CEO's closest friends and golfing partner. See, dahil kasi sa pagkakaibigan nila, at hindi yung kakayahan niyang magtapat kay Meckoy Quiogue, the former ABS marketing executive that is now so successful at GMA 7 as its Programming Manager.

Tuloy, out of the much ballyhooed 30 new shows that Channel 2 launched for this year, only a handful succeeded.

Now I won't be surprised if Gabby will again depend on his late father's ever reliable point man for help. It was said that it was FMG's idea to revive "Meteor Garden" this year.

just want to ask, di ba nakuha na ng GMA ang attic cat? and about the cast of bali, ang possible nalang is jo in sung and ha ji won (which i also think na medyo malabo though bali na nga lang medyo mataas na rating ng abs sa primetime aside from MG, it's still not as good as LIP for them to invest in interviews) bec. so ji sup is in military service right now...

as for spring days, wonderful life and delightful girl... i'm happy they got two comedies this time which i heard are both good, at least light na and not always drama... ;)

NEW REALITY SHOW

ABS-CBN bought the rights to air one of the most successful reality TV shows in Europe, "Big Brother." The franchise started in Amsterdam, Holland in 1999 and is now on its seventh season there and in England. In Australia, it's on its sixth season. The show's reps, Ed Sharples and Anoushka Ban explained to us the mechanics of the game. 6 men and 6 women contestants will be chosen and they will be confined inside a specially designed house (now being constructed near ABS) for three months without any communication to the outside world. No phone, no TV, no radio, no watches, no books or writing materials, just the daily challenges to be given them to fulfill.

About Jerry Yan, I'm sorry I don't have any idea. Well, it goes like this. ABS-CBN coordinate directly with the producers, like MBC, KBS and SBS. The producers give scripts, mostly summaries, of all the available series. Even though ABS-CBN will be the first one to bid for a certain price, the producers were the one deciding to which station they'll gonna give the series, of course, with a higher price. If GMA bid for 5 bucks and ABS-CBN bids for only 4, of course, GMA 7 will get the series. Sometimes, the network will choose two of the 4 offered series, and the other network will get the other two. Just like in the case of Lovers in Paris and Full House, as well as Memories of Bali and Love Story in Harvard.

I just hate a series not get the popularity it deserves...because here in Zamboanga, hindi masyado viewed ang GMA....

Ayan, kakatapos ko lang gawin yang program chart.. mahalaga rin na irelate yan sa ratings na lalabas para hindi ung basta nalang pinagtatapat ung di dapat.

Since inip na inip na tayo sa ratings pero wala pa, meron akong method dito na magagamit natin:

Binilang ko ung total no. of mins na itinagal ng program naun at i-dinivide ko sa total no. of advertisments ng program din naun. Ung procedure is parang pag-compute lang ng grade sa college- THE LOWER THE NUMBER, THE BETTER:

Tuesday - May 17 "min/ad" method:

IKAW ANG LAHAT SA AKIN (8:57-9:44pm)
47 mins / 32 advertisments = 1.4688

MEMORIES OF BALI (9:44-10:14pm)
30 mins / 23 advertisments = 1.3043

STAINED GLASS (10:14-10:59pm)
45 mins / 30 advertisments = 1.5000

Medyo may problema lang ako sa methodology nato. Kapag kasi ung airtime ng mismong programa (Hal: Meteor Garden , Stained Glass) eh medyo may kahabaan tapos ung commercial cuts eh kaunti lang, magkaka-conflict sa computation. Kasi halimbawa ung MG, diba bihira lang sya mag-commercial tapos anghaba nung palabas. Meaning, baka nagli-limit ng ads ung ABS at binibigyang daan ung pinaka-programa. Pero dipende narin un sa TV station kung Revenue o Rating ang mas pipiliin nila. Pero sa tingin ko naman kaya sila nagtatrabaho eh mainly para sa pera kaya medyo out na ung problem nato.

Ang sa akin lang, kung ikaw halimbawa ay advertiser (Procter, Unilever, etc), saan ka magpe-place ng AD? Edi syempre sa program na alam mong maraming nanonood. Kaya di basta basta maisasawalang bahala ang sarili kong methodology na ito.

By the way, ang mga kumpanya tulad ng Procter&Gamble,Unilever,etc. ay alam ang tunay na ratings 24/7 direkta mula sa AGB/NIELSEN. Kaya alam nila kung ano ang pinapanuod ng mas nakararami.

Ngayon ko lang ginawa ang method na ito at nais kong maging popular ito sa paggawa nyo rin nito lalo na kung ikaw ay RATING ADDICT tulad ko. Bilangin mo lang ung minuto divided by number of Ads nito.

Tinatawagan ko rin ang mga GMA fanatics na gawin nyo rin to since programs nyo ang pinapanuod nyo para magka-kumparahan tayo ng numbers.

Maganda to! Mauunahan pa natin ung AGB/Nielsen sa paglabas ng results!

I'm frustrated with ABS about the acquisition of dramas too. I hope they have better researchers and a better 'acquistition officer'...I just hate it when my favorite Asian dramas are acquired by GMA...yeesh nanghihinayang ako because I always say, "kung sa ABS yan ipapalabas mas sisikat pa 'yan..." I just hate a series not get the popularity it deserves...because here in Zamboanga, hindi masyado viewed ang GMA....

About Jerry Yan, I'm sorry I don't have any idea. Well, it goes like this. ABS-CBN coordinate directly with the producers, like MBC, KBS and SBS. The producers give scripts, mostly summaries, of all the available series. Even though ABS-CBN will be the first one to bid for a certain price, the producers were the one deciding to which station they'll gonna give the series, of course, with a higher price. If GMA bid for 5 bucks and ABS-CBN bids for only 4, of course, GMA 7 will get the series. Sometimes, the network will choose two of the 4 offered series, and the other network will get the other two. Just like in the case of Lovers in Paris and Full House, as well as Memories of Bali and Love Story in Harvard.

alam niyo guys, ok naman mag laban ang networks, kasama na sa trabaho yun. however hwag naman sana dito sa thread ilabas ang galit sa rivalry nila. sa mga nag po post ng super big fonts (big letters), nakakadagdag lang sa chaos ang pag ka RED nitong mga fonts. parang super galit na galit ang mga nag po post. forum lang naman ito, hindi war zone.

and sa mga nakakalimot, paikot ikot nga ang schedule ng GMA, however may mga shows din naman na biglang nawawala sa ABS. yung kay sandara hindi na tinapops at nawala na lang, pati ata yung isang espanol na serye nawala rin noon.

saka sa mga ratings, totoo namang napakaraming versions ang lumalabas. dahil sa journalism, kung ano ang nakasult, yun ang paniniwalaan. however sa lahat ng mga ratings na nakikita ko, i think one point is clear- sa metro manila GMA is top, outside MM naman ABSCBN ang top. palaging ganun siya.

sa pag acquire naman ng series, ang napapansin ko ang mga mas bago nakukuha ng ABSCBN. maybe thats their strategy- kumuha ng mga bago, i dub agad and ipalabas agad. sa GMA naman they have older series which are aired longer like irene and glass shoes. kanya kanyang strategy lang yan. out na tayo which series they have, sa presentation lang talaga nagkakatalo dahil most of the viewers naman dont know how new or exactly how old these series are. in the end, plot and presentation pa rin ang impt. factors as i know it.

and of course fave topic pa rin ang MG. mabuti na lang at di nagkasabay ang MG/abscbn and MARS/gma (if tru GMA has it). i could just imagine baka maraming mawalan ng salita.

Apart from Thailand, the Philippines will be the only country in Asia to have its own version of the hit reality program which has captivated television audiences in Europe, North and South America and Australia since it was introduced in the Netherlands in 1999.

The local version of the show to be called "Kuya" or elder brother is expected to go to air in August and will be much the same as the original.

Twelve total strangers will spend 100 days in a large, suburban house in Manila fully equipped with 26 cameras and microphones which will allow viewers to see how they interact with one other.

The participants will have no contact with the outside world – no television, telephones, radio and newspapers, ABS-CBN officials said.

Once a week, viewers will be allowed to vote through telephone and mobile phone Short Messaging Systems (SMS) on which of the participants should be voted out.

The last remaining contestant wins a two-million-peso house, a million pesos in cash and a new car.

ABS-CBN hopes "Big Brother" will help it regain its leading position in the prime time TV market and help swing the company back into profitability.

In the first quarter of this year ABS-CBN reported a R114 million loss due mainly to a sudden drop in revenues and the Philippine economic problem.

A Closer Look at Filipino Soap Operas

The Channel War is taking a new turn with the competition-oriented principles of Marketing Warfare expounded by Al Reis and Jack Trout, with its novel slants and surprises.

The programming mix of the evening primetime block — that three-hour period of television broadcast right after the evening news — is changing fast. ABS-CBN 2 and GMA 7 have always reserved this period for a combination of a reality show, a fantasy series, a melodrama and an imported telenovela. GMA took the brave move of disregarding this well-tested formula in the present season by having two fantasy series in the primetime block. But ABS-CBN has an attack ready.

The surprisingly high rating of the new soap opera Mga Anghel na Walang Langit has stirred the television landscape, giving the show a breakthrough status. GMA was caught unprepared for such a program genre — a soap opera for and by kids. The same thing happened when ABS-CBN fielded Goin' Bulilit against GMA's Naks and Mel & Joey. The children-oriented show was not a competitor of said GMA shows and, being the first to target such a segment, caught it vulnerable. Goin' Bulilit soon solidified its position even before GMA could plan its counter move.

If Mari Mar was influential in the evolution of the form and content of local soap operas and Meteor Garden emphasized that soap operas do not have to be American to sell, Mga Anghel na Walang Langit made it Pinoy and showed that a soap opera can have high viewership without big stars and a big budget. It might well have given us the formula for the essential Third World soap opera for global Pinoys.

Gone are the Gulong ng Palad and Marinela days. By some stroke of pop destiny, certain developments in soap operas from other parts of the world cause our own to undergo some sort of mutation, which brings production values to higher levels, including drama and direction. But this time around, it is a local soap opera that is doing it. This is no less than a tremendous leap in popular culture and it might as well create ripples in the worldwide soap opera industry.

What do future local soap operas look like? Where are they headed? Here's a summary.


Sticking to melodrama

GMA's shift from one to two fantasy series during the soap-opera block proved strong for a certain period. But now, it has turned into a weakness as the company wrongly ***umed that ABS-CBN would have two fantasy series, namely, Panday and Kampanerang Kuba. ABS-CBN knows that this block is pegged on melodrama. That is why when Qpids (supposed to replace Spirits) encountered a technical glitch, ABS-CBN stuck to melodrama by quickly producing Mga Anghel na Walang Langit with its children-oriented narrative.

As a result, GMA has been forced to realign its primetime programming with the high ratings of Mga Anghel na Walang Langit. GMA was forced to schedule its primetime giant Extra Challenge at a later slot because the attack of Lilliputian people proved too strong. GMA brainsharers were surely banging their heads like never before when Goin' Bulilit posted unheard-of ratings. It aired its two fantasy serials back-to-back around the time slot of Mga Anghel na Walang Langit to maintain its partial stronghold of the prime-time block.

GMA knows that if it loses control of the primetime block, its claim of being the number one broadcast station will be greatly imperiled. It will put in jeopardy its Initial Public Offering, which it has already postponed. It is trying to remain competitive by quietly producing a melodrama with a copycat plot of Mga Anghel na Walang Langit.

What GMA failed to perceive is that ABS-CBN is planning to have two melodramas. On May 16, it opened Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin, co-directed by Erik Reyes and Jerome Pobocan in the French style, starring some of Star Magic's premium talents. This includes Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Angelika dela Cruz and Shaina Magdayao. Shaina gets three leading men: Rafael “RJ” Martinez, Kiko Matos and DM Sevilla. In connection with its 13th anniversary festivity, this drama series is a showcase Star Magic talents.

Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin is written by John Roque, Denise Reyes and Mari Lamasan. Although it remains faithful to the things that make a soap opera a highly patronized television genre, it does not follow type; it is not emotionally charged and free from improbable twists. Director Erik says, “It's the soap opera that attempts to get close as possible to real life. It imitates life, not dramatizes it. It also makes us realize that our importance as individuals springs from how much we have loved people important to us, to people we can say, 'Ikaw ang lahat sa akin.'”

In Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin, the characters of Claudine Barretto and Bea Alonzo are sisters separated when Claudine was five. Noni Buencamino, Claudine's father, abandoned her and her mother, Jacklyn Jose, to live with well-to-do mistress Carmi Martin. But Claudine and Bea's paths cross again. This time, Bea has turned into a strange and shy school girl, the target of pranks of the unruly John Lloyd Cruz.

Tirso Cruz III and Hilda Koronel are the parents of John Lloyd. They have given up on him and have put their hope on bright and intelligent Diether Ocampo to fulfill their dreams of having a politician in the family. But unknown to Diether's family and his rich and beautiful girlfriend Angelika dela Cruz, Diether has a dark secret he has kept from everybody he loves, and this threatens to destroy the life he has carefully built.

Ikaw ang Lahat Sa Akin is about how Bea and John Lloyd's imperfect lives are about to take an interesting turn. An unexpected change will come from Claudine. She is dead-set on destroying the life of her estranged father. But what brought about this change in her? And how will it affect the family? Typical soap opera plot, for sure, but the non-melodramatic treatment will make it different from other soap operas that came before it, something that will make you fall in love and believe in the capacity for loving in defining ourselves.


Back to komiks materials

GMA claims Darna as the first adaptation of a komiks material into a soap opera. Probably it is, but certainly it is not the first fantasy soap opera. It's Marina, immediately followed by Krystala. The origins of these two fantaseryes could not be missed. Marina is Dyesebel in disguise while Krystala is a covert Darna. The estate of author Mars Ravelo offered both komiks novels to ABS-CBN for heaps of cash. But it refused to acquire the television rights like it did with the franchise of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and proceeded to create its homegrown version.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was the pattern of Game K N B, which proceeded to create its own mechanics, set and even theme music, outliving the foreign franchise. Marina deserves a similar distinction. It started the current fantasy series trend. But this creative mindset has changed. Even before ABS-CBN could show adaptations of komiks novels such as Carlo Caparas' Panday and Pablo S. Gomez's Kampanerang Kuba, the programming fluke that is Pablo Gomez' Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit created a local television breakthrough.

Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit an accident? Well, it is. If not for the Qpids problem, it could have not been conceptualized. But it is bound to happen. So that when executive vice president Charo Santos Concio gave the go signal for the substitute show for Qpids, Goin' Bulilit director/creative consultant Edgar Mortiz suggested a melodrama about street kids. He based such a suggestion from the strong performance of Wowowee when it featured street kids in its Willie of Fortune segment.

There's no doubt Mga Anghel Na Walang Langit is a stroke of luck. Its budget is a drop in the bucket, as we love to put it colloquially. GMA acquired the television rights of Darna reportedly for a staggering P1 million cash out. Because Melissa Ricks as Jericho Rosales' leading lady failed to deliver the required input in Panday, millions worth of footages had to be discarded and replaced. An open audition for the role yielded more than 200 applicants ranging from Aiza Marquez to Raya Mananquil.

In all cases, producers of komiks novels adapted into television soap operas are opting to update the narrative to give it current flavor. But they are not necessarily for the better. Take the case of Darna given the title of Mars Ravelo's Darna, of course, for the popularity push. Instead of a head full of venomous crawlers, Valentina turns into a cobra when her adrenaline rushes. For sure, GMA's Darna is anything but Mars Ravelo's.

Will the trend of komiks-based soap operas continue?

After the current crop of scheduled releases, for ABS-CBN, no. For GMA, yes. ABS-CBN would have created new variations of soap operas by the time Kampanerang Kuba and Panday end their respective runs. But for GMA, it is the exact opposite. It will still be at it because it is usually a season late in its programming. Despite its claim of being the country's number one broadcast station, it continuously fails to create programming trends which is unlikely of a station claiming broadcast leadership. No more extensions

Because of viewer and advertiser clamor, it used to be that soap operas were extended until its dramatic possibilities were squeezed dry. The problem with this practice is that the storyline tends to meander, going to all sorts of directions, leaving it lacking in focus and short of impact. Instead of maintaining interest, such extensions become a test of loyalty. Of course, there are more viewers who want to be entertained than be given a loyalty award, right? Before we know it, viewership of such over-extended soap operas has plummeted.

Having realized this programming blunder, ABS-CBN is now observing original run schedules, the only professional way to do it like the foreign telenovelas. (Of course, they cannot be extended for the reason that they are canned.) Till Death Do Us Part, the Diether Ocampo and Kristine Hermosa starrer which was developed primarily to give in to the clamor of local and foreign-based fans, ran only for a season. The feeling of cutting clean when it has to end gives viewers an exhilarating feeling as well as has them clamoring for more.


Multiple directors

Directing a soap opera is such a backbreaking task that Krystala had as much as four directors when it was still airing. Because soap operas have a daily run, often with a cast of big stars with knotted schedules, having multiple directors is a convenient way to keep it going with messy airing commitments. This will continue. Ikaw Ang Lahat sa Akin has Erik and Gilbert Perez as regular directors. Mga Angel na Walang Langit, has three. Director Maryo delos Reyes is joined by Lino Cayetano and May Cruz.


Targeting the foreign market

What ABS-CBN is doing now is creating teleseryes both for the national and international markets. With the way it has developed, it is not only creating soap operas for The Filipino Channel but also for foreign markets where this cable service is not available. It is vying to be an exporter of soap operas like Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, India, among other countries. This must also be valid for GMA in connection with Pinoy TV, its international cable channel.

Pangako Sa 'Yo, the Kristine Hermosa, Jericho Rosales and Diether Ocampo starrer, has turned out to be a major hit in Malaysia and Singapore, making Kristine a recognizable face while shooting All My Life in a cruise ship with Aga Muhlach. Director Erik explains this appeal: “The direction to us when starting a new teleserye is to make it good. We are told to make the characters well-loved. We are not instructed, for example, to create it for the export market.” He adds that ABS-CBN teleseryes are currently screening in England and Kenya, dubbed in their respective languages.

Director Erik closes, “Viewers are tired of plot-oriented stories like the fantasy series. Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin offers a realistic alternative. This is the trend (in soap operas that) I see in the future. The audience wants a cleaner, more beautiful and closer-to-the-truth depiction of the viewers' life. I think that is where soap operas are going.”

'Bulilit' mas maganda kesa sa 'Bubble Gang Jr.'

One good thing sa existing network war sa television is the fact that contest din ito ng mga magagaling na think tanks and good shows.

Natutuwa kami sa Goin’ Bulilit ng Dos na creation at concept ni Edgar Mortiz -- the mind behind the Tropang Trumpo laff-in show ng ABC 5.

Ang Tropang Trumpo ay naging training ground ni Direk Al Tantay na ***istant director noon ni Edgar at nina Michael V., Ogie Alcasid, Gelli de Belen at Carmina Villarroel sa komedya. That was in early 80’s.

Naalaala namin na gusto noong i-pirate ng Siete ang grupo mula sa Singko. At the last minute, naiwan sina Edgar at Al. Nawala bigla sina Ogie at Michael V at nagkaroon ng Bubble Gang ang GMA 7. At sina Ogie at Michael V na ang may sey sa show.

Naalaala namin ang grupo dahil sa Goin’ Bulilit ni Edgar na biglang naging winner (over Naks ng Siete) and top rater with almost 30% ratings.

Biglang tinapos ng GMA 7 ang Naks show nina Bearwin Meily at Benjie Paras dahil talo ito ng mga nagpapatawang mga bulilit. Tinapatan ito ng Bubble Gang Jr.

Pinanood namin ang dalawang laff-in shows ng mga bata. Ang ganda ng concept ng Goin’ Bulilit. Last time, western at cowboy country ang jokes nila. Last week, cavemen at tribesmen ang tema nila.

Okey ang sets. Ang galing ng mga bata. Maliwanag magsalita at maganda ang mga timing nila, lalo na sa punch lines. Well-rehearsed at tila sanay ang mga bata sa Goin’ Bulilit.

Napanood din namin ang buwenamano ng Bubble Gang Jr. kung saan nag-guest sina Michael V at Ogie. Ito lang siguro ang dahilan kaya 19+ ang rating nila laban sa 17+ ng Goin’ Bulilit.

Samantalang, hilaw na hilaw ang delivery at performance ng mga bata sa Bubble Gang Jr. Tila koleksyon lang ng laff-in ang show nila. May concept at common theme ba?

Pero ngayon, masaya muli kami dahil last Sunday, nag-rate ang Goin’ Bulilit ng 22.3%. Di hamak mas magaling ang ipinamalas ng mga bata ng Dos sa mga bata ng Siete. Ang Bubble Gang Jr. ay may 14.8% rating.

At least, marunong manood ang viewers. See the better shows, kahit Dos ba iyon o Siete.

The boys and girls of Goin’ Bulilit talk and behave like grown-ups making them more funny. Ang sa Bubble Gang Jr., tila nagbe-baby talk lang sila. Eh kasi bata!

Next week, panonoorin namin ang labanan ng mga baby laff-in shows na ito.

tapos, medyo naiba ang trend ng maging phenomenal ang Marina....

pero ngayon, bumabalik na uli... konting panahon lang at ito na uli ang trend... ito naman talaga ang forte ng ABS eh.. melodramas...romantic series...


keep it up... nakakakilig talaga ang series na to... at pumasok na rin pala si Rory Quintos bilang direktor nito... sinong character kaya pasisikatin nya ng husto??...after Amor Powers at Klaudia Buenavista??? Yuri???

hay sarap... bumabalik na uli yung dati... salamat naman... at least balanced sa tin mga kapamilya... me koreanovela, reality show, melodrama at yung pinasikat natin na sinundan ng iba... fantaserye...with the coming of Kampanerang Kuba at Panday....


at parating na rin ang Big Brother... isa na namang trend na ABS ang magse-set at expectedly ay lalabas na naman ang sandamukal na clones....

don't forget to watch METEOR GARDEN at MEMORIES of BALI ha..... kakaaliwwwww manood ng primetime bida....

Dalawang episods na ng Ikaw ang Lahat Sa Akin ang napapanood namin, ang Monday at Tuesday episodes. At the rate things are going, posibleng masapawan nito ang katapat na DARNA sa kabilang istasyon.
Pati ang kasama namin sa bahay ay dito na rin nakatutok, whereas previously, naaaliw ito sa paglipad lipad ni Darna.
Kabaligtaran sa pagkakilala namin sa tunay na John Lloyd Cruz ang papel niyang bilang Oliver sa naturang soap. Libang na libang kami kay Lloydie sa kanyang mga kahibangan dito. Kaya kahit sabihin oa man ng isang e-mail sender sa amin na may pag OA ang dating ng binata rito, we beg to disagree.
Minsan kasi, naalala namin ang sinabi ng isang direktor, na kaya nalilito ang ilang artista nating lumalaas at the same time sa pelikula and on television ay dahil sa kaibahan ng dalawang media na ito.
ANg pelikula ay ipinalalabas sa big screen kaya kahit minor movements ng mga artista ay very visible. Mas restrained kuno dapat ang actin ng isang artista wen he performs on the big screen.
Sa kabilang dako, kapag nasa TV ka, dahil you're projected on a much smaller frame, dapat, much more emphasize ang acting mo kesa when pne is supposed to act para sa isang pelikula.
This was what we heard from a director both for TV and for the movies. Thus, we understood na kung magkaminsan napagkakamalan nang overacting si John Lloyd sa kanyang papel.
Pero sa totoo lang, hyper naman talaga ang role nya sa Ikaw Ang Lahat sa Akin , no? We like his change in character at medyo grumadweyt na siya sa drama.
Aba, kung tutuusin, mas mahirap 'yung role niya rito, at sa palagay namin, medyo malayo sa kanyang tunay na ugali, 'no?

ABS-CBN is extremely happy with the warm reception accorded by the public to the network's well-attended summer caravans in Northern Luzon and Cebu. The station's advance infrastructure and balanced programming have ensured the TV viewing in public's continued support outside Metro Manila.

Take the major urban centers in the Philippines, with 2005 first quarter ratings from Nielsen Media Research (NMR). In Cebu, NMR records ABS-CBN's commanding 15.1 percent rating over its competitor's 8.7 percent.

Davao is even more overwhelmingly ABS-CBN country, with a stunning 21.7 percent over its competitor's 6.7 percent.

And it's the same story nationwide, as well. With ratings from the Philippine Survey Research Group (PSRC), ABS-CBN's Bacolod shows an incredible 94 percent audience share and 36.8 percent rating as against the competitors's 5 percent audience share and 1.8 percent rating.

Ninety percent of General Santos City and Naga City are kapamilya viewers as well. And ratings for Legaspi City (32.1 percent rating, 86 percent audience share versus the competitor's 4.9 percent rating and 13 percent audience share), Zamboanga City (34.9 percent rating and 72 percent audience share versus competitor's 12.4 percent rating and 26 percent audience share) and Cagayan de Oro City (17 percent rating and 57 percent audience share against the rival's 11.3 percent rating and 38 percent audience share) also establish once and for all that ABS-CBN is still the Philippine's leading network.

The latest surveys in different key cities show that while ABS-CBN is closely catching up with its rival in Mega Manila, it continues to lead in audience share and ratings in the rest of the country. On a nationwide level, a significant 73 percent of TV homes are outside Mega Manila.

ABS-CBN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Eugenio Lopez III, during the corporation's recent stockholder's meeting, thanked the station's supporters all over the country to whom he attributes the network's continued leadership in nearly all areas outside Metro Manila.

He assures, "We will continue to maintain a dynamic program mix that will not only entertain and inform but also serve the Filipino audience."

Last week, there are articles that a GMA talent auditioned for a role, though unnamed, could be Jericho Rosales' wife in Panday as Eden. Could it be Bianca King? She's talented, and pretty anyways.

Nagkaiyakan kahapon sa dressing room ng S.O.P. Gigsters nang magpaalam si Bianca King sa mga kaibigan niyang sina Nicole Anderson, Chynna Ortaleza, Richard at Raymond Gutierrez.

Simula kasi sa Linggo ay sa katapat na show na ng S.O.P. Gigsters mapapanood si Bianca.

Masama sa loob ni Bianca ang paglipat from GMA 7 to ABS-CBN 2 dahil marami na siyang mga kaibigan at kabarkada sa Siyete.

Desisyon ng manager niyang si Arnold Vegafria na ilipat na siya sa Dos.

Bago ang desisyong ‘yon, tinanggal si Bianca sa cast ng Sugo kaya sumama ang loob niya.

Two months ago pa raw ipinangako kay Bianca na isasali siya sa bagong series ni Richard Gutierrez.

The night before ng story conference ng Sugo ay nagulat na lang si Arnold nang sabihan ito na hindi na kasama sa show na ‘yon si Bianca.

Sa una, may sitsit na hindi bagay kay Bianca ang role na para sana sa kanya sa Sugo, pero may isang production staff na umamin sa dalaga kaugnay sa pagkakatanggal niya sa series na ‘yon.

Sumama raw kasi ang loob ng mga taga-GMA 7 management kay Arnold Vegafria dahil pinalabas nito ang alagang si Jay-R na lumabas bilang judge sa finals ng Search For the Star In a Million.

Ang dahilan ni Arnold Vegafria, walang masama sa pagdya-judge ni Jay-R sa show na ‘yon ng Dos dahil walang exclusive contract sa Siyete ang singer/actor.

Per show ang kontrata ni Jay-R sa Siyete at hindi raw katapat ng show na nilabasan nito sa Dos ang mga show nito sa Siyete.

Natakot siguro ang mga taga-Siyete na baka bigla ring palabasin ni Arnold sa Dos si Bianca, kaya tinanggal na lang ito sa Sugo. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Di ba, bigla-bigla ring inilipat ni G. Arnold Vegafria sa ABS-CBN ang talent niyang si Iya Villania?)

Nagdesisyon si Arnold Vegafria na ilipat na lang si Bianca sa Dos.

"Wala namang trabaho sa Siyete si Bianca, kaya karapatan ko ‘yon bilang manager na ihanap siya ng trabaho sa iba!" sabi ni Arnold.

Umasa raw si Bianca na magkakaroon ng drama series sa Siyete kaya hindi ito nag-enrol ngayong pasukan.

Para hindi raw masayang ang oras ni Bianca ay nagdesisyon si Arnold na ilipat ito sa Dos.

Sa Dos ay tatlo ang shows na ibinigay kay Bianca -- A.S.A.P. Fanatics, isang drama series at isa pang show na magsisimula pa lang.

Ililipat ba ni Arnold si Jay-R sa Dos after ng pangyayaring ito?

"I’m not saying anything, kasi, kasisimula pa lang ng Love To Love at per show ang kontrata ni Jay-R sa Siyete. Sa totoo lang, wala kasi akong balak na ilipat sa kabila si Jay-R. Pero after what happened kay Bianca, mag-uusap kami ng mga taga-Siyete tungkol kay Jay-R!" sabi ni Arnold.

Nagkaroon daw ng hindi magandang pag-uusap sa pagitan ni Arnold at ng ilang executive ng Siete dahil nag-demand daw ang manager ni Bianca ng magandang billing, talent fee at exposure at dahil may magandang offer daw ang ABS-CBN sa alaga niya at kung hindi raw kayang ibigay ng GMA ay ililipat na lang ni Arnold ang alaga niya sa Dos.
