CAN Piolo Pascual-lookalike Joem Bascon make it bigger than the original? When asked how he feels about the comparison, he said he is flattered but would be happier if he makes it on his own merits.

His break came through a TV guesting in ABS-CBN top-rating show, Maalaala Mo Kaya, hosted by Charo Santos- Concio starred in by no less than his favorite actress, Judy Ann Santos. This was followed by a regular show, “Let’s Go,” every Saturday. Soon he will join Piolo Pascual and Claudine Barretto in “Walang Kapalit.”

To hone his talent, Joem joined an acting workshop with Center for Communication Arts, Inc. At the same time, he doesn’t want to neglect his studies so he enrolled in Asia Institute for Distance Learning. With his good looks and built, Joem who stands at 5’9", is really a candidate for stardom. Incidentally, he turns 20 on August 29.

Guess who is his biggest crush in showbiz? Iwa Moto. He likes her being outspoken, her sexiness and her chinky eyes, just like his mom. Is he planning to woo her? In God’s time, he said.

Kapani-paniwala naman yung pagkapanalo ng TVPW against 24 Oras. Hindi naman nakuha ng TV Patrol ng overnight yan. Pinagtrabahuhan nila yan at marami silang ginawang reorganization sa News and Current Affairs simula nung kinuha nila si Maria Ressa.

I think the reason kung bakit mataas yung ratings natin ngayon is that maganda talaga yung programa natin. Consistent ang flow ng story and there are no more subplots. Maybe, effective nga yung i-tape muna yung kalahati ng istorya ng isang series bago ipalabas kasi naiiwasan yung pagmamadali ng staff and yung story ay unpredictable. I mean hindi sya dependent kung sa ano ang gusto ng audience.

Di rin naman natin masasabi na mataas lang ang rating because patapos na yung series because we have already seen some ABS-CBN shows sa primetime na di matalo-talo yung katapat kahit final episode na like Vietnam Rose, PBB Celebrity Edition and Panday.

All I can say to ABS-CBN is keep up the good work and always be consistent.

The ratings yesterday still showed that ABS-CBN primetime bida is stronger. From the rating nung Lunes ay di gaanong natinag sa ratings yung mga primetime shows ng ABS-CBN. Base kasi sa trend since last year, kapag nakaakyat ng 30% yung show, the next day ay biglang bababa yung rating natin to a 26-27% and then di na makakaangat.

Super Inggo still managed to get 30.5% which is still quite high especially na ine-establish pa lang yung character ni Budong. Another thing is that wala palang big stars sa cast ng Super Inggo and I find it a very good opportunity para makabuild-up ang ABS-CBN ng next big star. Sa nakikita ko kasi kina Makisig at Sam, talagang may mga potential yung mga batang yun to make it in showbiz. Makisig has the charisma na pang-masa na pati mga older audiences ay magugustuhan same as with Sam although medyo sosyal lang ang dating niya pero malakas pa rin ang appeal sa masa.

I wonder kung bakit kailangan lumipat ng Roco twins sa kabilang istasyon kung kailan pa naisama na sila sa Super Inggo? Part kasi sila dito and this could be their chance also to shine.

Kim-Gerald loveteam: ABS-CBN flavor of the month


When it rains, it pours. That’s exactly what’s happening for the young loveteam of "Pinoy Big Brother" Teen Edition Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. The young pair is now the "flavor of the month" at ABS-CBN, losing no time in giving the two stars their biggest breaks.


After getting out of the Big Brother house last June, Kim and Gerald have steadily proven their drawing power by their growing number of fans. Their first project together, "Lovespell," which ran every Sunday last July, displayed muscle in the ratings by toppling its rival program on GMA 7, "Love 2 Love." The last we heard was that "Love 2 Love" was even thinking of reformatting, so as to give good competition to "Lovespell."

In fact, due to popular demand, Kim and Gerald get a second wind in "Lovespell" this September, with a new story supported by Shaina Magdayao and Rayver Cruz. Following that, ABS-CBN is giving the loveteam their own teleserye, "My Destiny," to be shown before the year ends.

Kim and Gerald were initially eyed to join the cast of "Crazy for You," the teleserye starring Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga. The said series, to premiere next month, feature other young stars such as John Pratts, Roxanne Guinoo, Sandara Park and Joseph Bitangcol. Kim and Gerald would have been in the lineup, too. However, on their first taping day, the loveteam was asked to pack up, much to their surprise and disappointment.

Kim and Gerald were told to discontinue taping because they will be given their own teleserye. Naturally, the second news delighted both stars.

But that’s not all. Kim and Gerald were also signed up by Star Cinema (http://tsinoy.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=518399#) for the movie, "First Day High," taken after the hit song of Kamikazee. The said film is slated to be shown this September.

Due to the popularity of the loveteam, Kim and Gerald were also taken in as endorsers. You see the pair in huge billboards all over Metro Manila, as image models for Bench.

That may be a case of too much, too soon for the loveteam? ABS-CBN capitalizing on the popularity of Kim and Gerald, didn’t the network do the same thing with Hero Angeles and Sandara Park? Until the young loveteam proves otherwise, then Kim and Gerald will be the "hot properties" of ABS-CBN.

Sa pag-alis ni Jericho Rosales sa Star Magic (hindi sa ABS-CBN) ay naglabasan ang ilang balita na kesyo papalitan na raw si Echo sa Hunks group nila nina Piolo Pascual, Carlos Ag######i, Bernard Palanca and Diether Ocampo.

Tapos ngayong nababalitaang magpapakasal na rin daw sina BJ (Bernard) and Meryl Soriano, pati siya papalitan na. Pero ayon kay Piolo, wala raw ganun. Ito ang kanyang nilinaw sa presscon ng Star Magic Presents para sa kanilang mga “kings” dahil ang Hunks daw will forever be the five of them at ito rin ang napagkasunduan nila nang nagsisimula sila.

Aminado si PJ (palayaw ni Piolo) that they miss Echo na actually ay isa dapat sa mga hari ng Star Magic na humarap sa press bilang bida sa mga September episodes ng Star Magic Presents.

Instead, it’s him, Diet, John Lloyd Cruz, Zanjoe Marudo and papa Sam Milby. But that doesn’t mean daw na sina Lloydie, Zanjoe and Sam will be the replacement sa Hunks, paliwanag ni PJ.

Iba raw itong for Star Magic Presents, iba rin ang Hunks nila. Kung magka-kabalikan pa ang Hunks, hindi ito imposible dahil sabi nga namin, Echo is out of Star Magic but not ABS.

LAST WEEKEND, “Pinoy Dream Academy” announced its 16 “scholars,” while “Philippine Idol” went down to its final 24. Since “Academy” was telecast on Saturday and “Idol” only a day later, the ABS-CBN talent search effectively upstaged the ABC-5 tilt, which had earlier enjoyed a head start.

Impact

What difference does a mere day make? At face value, not much -- but, its psychological impact could be substantial. As we feared, “Academy’s” fast-tracking sapped “Idol” of some of its initial time advantage, since it set the talent standard by which ABC-5’s own finds were subsequently evaluated.

That isn’t an enviable position for a talent competition to be in, that’s for sure.

But, that’s water under the bridge. The big show biz question now is: Which TV talent tilt has come up with the more promising batch of finalists? We caught both shows last weekend and came up with these comparative notes:

“Academy” has tapped “scholars” who are generally younger and more “international” in projection, with a Fil-Am, Fil-Aussie, Fil-Japanese and a beauty from the Netherlands among its 16 best bets.

On the other hand, “Idol” has come up with generally better singers. We listened to many of its top 40 bets singing solo, and all of the singers we heard sounded good.

We can’t say the same for all of “Academy’s” 16 top choices, some of whom may have been chosen for performing factors other than exceptional singing ability.

Astute choices

Thus, right now, “Idol” jurors Ryan Cayabyab, Pilita Corrales and Francis M can take a well-deserved bow for their astute choices. On the other hand, some of the “Academy” scholars still have to prove their worth in the next four months. Well, the ABS-CBN tilt’s “school” format under “headmaster” Jim Paredes will make it easier for them to improve as performers in the weeks to come...

We note, too, that “Academy’s” finalists are more varied in terms of the character types they “represent.” Was this “textured” configuration intentionally arrived at?

Aside from the “international” representation, “Academy’s” scholars also include an OCW, a Grace Nono “ethnic” wannabe, more rockers than usual, some real lookers from the Netherlands and Australia, a “plus-plus-sizer,” etc.!

This varied casting is reminiscent of ABS-CBN’s past “Pinoy Big Brother” reality shows, which also featured very mixed “housemates” -- the better to sustain viewers’ interest and to give niche audiences different types to empathize with, and root and vote for?

Emphasis

On the other hand, “Idol’s” 24 finalists were generally more homogenized in terms of looks and emphasis on exceptional singing ability.

Yes, the ABC-5 tilt does have a resident gender bender, but that’s about it in terms of exotica, and there’s no preferential treatment obvious here in terms of “textured” casting, because the singer in question is clearly a superior performer.

This weekend, “Idol” will whittle down its 24 finalists to its Magic 12. For its part, “Academy” added four more to the 16 who were announced at the end of its Cebu show. The plot thickens!

Da S' charms will fry rice, and will not rival Bao Long's (Jerry) dancing in the streets and to add to F4. Because they are promoting travel tours, theTraffic Bureau and Tourism Office will release an idol drama, and managements each recommended their idol stars for the project. Having already verified the details, F4 management said that the F4 handsome guys will star in that drama. Male lead Jerry Yan will portray a boy dancer instructor.

According to sources, besides proposing the advantages of F4, "Ke mi rhu zhi" and GTV also joined in at the Tourism Office proposal of hiring Da S, and Xiao Zhu Luo Zhi Xiang as the male-female lead to present Taiwan's tourist spots, like the form of "Meteor Garden" male-female couple. GTV also plans to set up leading lady Da S to personally go to the kitchen and fry rice. But Da S and Xiao Zhu Gua are not overwhelmed by sheer numbers. Finally, the Tourism office had its eye on the Japanese and Korean market, and chose the F4 members who swept all-Asia.

Although Jerry is not the best dancer among F4, yet the drama plot will portray him as a boy dance instructor. Jerry's manager Jing Yi Peng also said that they haven't seen the script yet and not clear with the details. He merely smiled and said, "He will not mind dancing. In the concert he also had dance numbers. But if it is a street dance, it's a whole new challenge again."

GTV Planning Department then expressed that they really favored the proposal of the Tourism Office. But the leading lady has only Da S, and that other details have not been discussed and selection is not yet completed.

Producer Ke Mi Rui Zhi revealed that details had been recently been discussed with the Tourism Office. According to indicators, the title and plot has not been determined yet. Tourism office expressed that they will not intervene with the plot, because the producers will be the ones to handle that, and they only required that the drama must contain a certain scale of Taiwan's famous scenic spots.

KBS World, the international cable and satellite channel operated by the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), has inked carriage deals in the Philippines and Singapore. Beginning 1 September, the channel will be available in the Philippines via Central CATV, reaching about one million homes. KBS World will be available for all Central CATV subscribers as a basic channel. On 1 October, KBS will launch on Singaporean cable platform Starhub, reaching 300,000 households on the digital basic service. KBS has also entered a strategic alliance with ABS-CBN in the Philippines to increase cooperation in programme distribution and co-production.

Better later than early

Whatever happened to ABS-CBN’s promise to give us a newscast earlier than 11 p.m.? Isn’t Bandila supposed to be that one? But, how come each time I try to tune in to the channel to catch it at 10:30 p.m. I see something else, a soap opera, I assume it is.

I really don’t have any problem with news coming out late in the night (I stay up later than 12 midnight), but I don’t see why ABS-CBN had to make a big deal out of its changed time slot when the news can’t be on the air at that time.

Is this the kind of “leadership that places flag and country first before the network’s commercial and competitive interest” it tried to impart upon the entertainment press that went to have lunch with the executives prior to Bandila’s actual telecast?

In fact, monitoring closely the show, I catch even the newscast even later than 11 p.m.

C’mon guys, say what you mean, and mean what you say.

I am not surprised that GMA-7 comes off as the more credible TV news organization (even if it has lapses as well). No empty promises, their news team just do the work they are expected to do.


P11 million first-day gross

I remember several years ago, movie companies would spread word that their movies grossed some P3.5 million in Manila alone. Of course, the figure was always padded hundred or more percent. But, producers would tell you, “That’s standard industry practice, so that the press would pick it up and publish it. In that way it would create some kind of curiosity and hopefully force them to go to the theaters to watch.”

In my so many years of covering the local entertainment industry, I have yet to meet a movie producer who would candidly admit on record that a movie currently in theaters is a big flop. No, it’s too embarrassing, and he’d lose face among his peers. And so, the practice goes on. Just read newspapers with movie ads and you’ll see blurbs like “Cerfified box office hit” (which actually means, it’s a certified flop), “The no. 1 movie in the Philippines” (which really means that’s what the producers want but will never be).

In any case, if you talk to these movie producers, the movie industry is doing all right. Take for example the official figures released by Star Cinema on the first-day gross of You Are The One—P11 million.

If we believe this piece of information, this movie that stars the Filipino American Pinoy Big Brother alumnus Sam Milby and the ex-Eat Bulaga clown Toni Gonzaga has even beaten the record set by Superman Returns recently.

I don’t know why the local movie industry can have something like Exhibitor Relations, the box-office tracker in the US and which gives near accurate box-office results.

I am not saying that You Are The One is a flop (although an entertainment editor of a widely circulated tabloid insists it is after watching it in a near empty theater at the Ortigas Center) but I am just hoping that publicists of movie companies come out with more realistic figures that wouldn’t appear too fabricated for the more intelligent readers, right?

E yun naman tlaga actual receipt based on Cinemas. Di nman maglalabas ng ganung figure ang Star Cinema kundi tlaga box office hit yung movie. Manood kaya sya para mapatunayan nya. Natawa nga ako when i visited SM Mega Cinemas last Wednesday. Mas madami pa yung turn out ng tickets ng You Are the One (to think n 2nd wk n) kesa dun sa Eternity na halos wala akong masilip na tickets. Hindi kaya sinulat nya to just to save Eternity na syang totoong flop? hehe. Wala lng... just my opinion. :D

I have always been a fan of GMA-7's teleseryes, ever since Richard Guttierez and Angel Locsin spread their wings to position the network on the highest pedestal of the TV ratings game. It was during that time when I started fantasizing about Dennis Trillo. In other words, I began to support GMA-7's primetime shows since its "Mulawin" days. At that time, the network was still climbing up the ladder to become the Philippines' best TV station.

Then there was "Darna," where I always made it a point to go home so I wouldn't miss a single episode. Turning into a couch potato, I'd applaud every time Alessandra de Rossi delivered her lines. And I was there when Angel showed the right curves in her costume, making FHM declare her as the country's Sexiest Woman last year. With the entry of Katrina Halili, my TV viewing experience was completed. I adored all three of them: Angel for her sweetness and both Alessandra and Katrina for their candidness.

But I have definitely changed recently. I'd be hypocrite if I'll say I never watch the primetime shows of ABS-CBN. If before I can afford to miss episodes of "Marina" and "Krystala," lately I've been there when Kristine Hermosa's character was exploited and maltreated in "Gulong ng Palad." And I was there when Piolo Pascual said that "The highest form of friendship is love" in "Sa Piling Mo." That was such a very unforgettable soap, what with the colorful speaking lines that will forever be etched in our minds. Remember the good priest played by Bembol Roco telling Adrian (Piolo) and Jennifer (Judy Ann), "May mga bagay na kahit anong pigil mangyayari. At may mga bagay na kahit anong pilit, hindi mangyayari"? The SPM fever is now waning yet these lines seem to remain so fresh. Surely, those lines would become timeless. In short, Kapamilya's primetime shows "Gulong ng Palad," SPM and even "Bituing Walang Ningning" have made an impact on televiewers. That is precisely because Filipinos' penchant for sob stories is still very much alive. They still hunger for shows that mirror their real-life stories.

The Filipinos we are talking here belong to the CDE market. These are the people who religiously follow soap dramas, even skipping dinner so as not to miss a scene of their favorite shows. Besides, gone are the days when protagonists would just stand like statues, letting villains maltreat them. Finally, people behind these winning soaps have embraced the call of the times. During these times of modern technology, the unspoken mantra is "walay dinaugdaug kon walay magpadaug-daug." So, in the last two years, we have witnessed the empowerment of movie and TV protagonists and we never failed to cheer them on as they fought back against their oppressors.

My point is that GMA-7 has been feeding us with so much fantasy stories that it's now beginning to turn into a routine. And when that happens, boredom and disinterest would set in. Among the 80 million-plus Filipinos, how many believe in magic anyway? How many are actually convinced that life's problems can be solved by merely waving a magic wand? The sad thing is that GMA fantasy stories are now committing the same mistakes ABS-CBN did with Claudine Barretto's "Marina." Many new characters are being introduced. When you bring new faces in an ongoing series that could only mean the project has been stretched. For me, it loses momentum because it does not end anymore on the target date.

What happened to "Marina" then? In its bid to overextend the show to accommodate more advertisements, the story suffered. Imagine a mermaid who became a firefly so as just to connect Marina to the character of Diether Ocampo, who was prince of an enchanted kingdom? That was a big turn off. And then came the ogres, the kapres and the witches. Oh so many characters, oh so crowded. Then they failed and "Mulawin" soared high. Then "Darna" followed, although it suffered a bit due to the same mistake. Still it holds the highest recorded TV rating of more than 50% in audience share. GMA-7 should have learned from that near-collapse of the "Darna" experiment. But no, they did it again in "Sugo" where GMA-Artist Center talents came in and went. Whoever was hot and controversial graced the show.

And now GMA-7 is still at it again in "Captain Barbell" and "Majika." In CB we got to see Ruffa Mae Quinto, that Taiwanese actor (or was it Korean?) and now there's Wendell Ramos. In "Majika," there's Mikee Cojuanco and Oyo Boy Sotto. People behind these productions still don't get it that diverting from the original finale runs the risk of losing the momentum. Unless the twist is presented well, like in the case of SPM, it will spin into the wrong direction and bang! The experimentation would fail! There are only two ways to remedy the problem-stick to the original cast and strengthen the characters, and secondly, twist the story with so much care. I suggest the former though.

The magic of the fantasy stories is slowly failing. Like a homemade revolver, it's now beginning to malfunction. And it's all because we have so much of it already, it's making the "make-believe" literally unbelievable. While I understand that it is their way of making things lighter what with the economic crisis burdening Filipinos, the formula is bordering between deception and truthfulness. In the first place, it's called fantasy-dream, illusion, figment, fabrication. I don't think there should be a need to bank on so-called "fantaseryes" because GMA-7's sitcoms are doing well, giving entertainment to the problematic and worrisome citizens of the Republic of the Philippines.

No need to talk about ratings here because they're only restricted to Mega Manila. In Cebu, research agencies such as AGB Nielsen are yet to come up with figures that truly reflect the sentiments of Cebuanos. Therefore what maybe true there may not be the same here. Besides Cebuanos are very different because we are skeptics, sometimes indifferent and obviously the hardest to please in everything-from entertainment to politics. Moreover, why should we believe in the ratings when market vendors in Carbon to the sales clerks in malls and even employees of the high-rise buildings at the Ayala Business Park are boisterously recapping scenes from ABS-CBN's soap dramas viewed the previous night? How many are talking about CB and "Majika" on the streets? Only the children, who are often admonished by parents to sleep early, if not banned from watching TV on weekdays.

Oh well, ABS-CBN has the superserye "Super Inggo" in its primetime block. But honestly I always look forward to it every night since its debut because the comical and animated Makisig Morales makes me laugh. He is only about eight or nine years old, but when he delivers his lines he sounds like 14 or 15. Good casting in there, never mind the mediocre special effects as compared to the excellent ones in "Majika" and CB.

ABS-CBN is slowly and surely recovering after it was drowned during its "Marina" days. The line-up of shows is perfect. And we're not even talking about the fabulous "Pinoy Dream Academy" yet, which is surely a hit with its global following. The premiere of "Crazy for You" on Monday is another welcome development. After all, it's a dramedy coated with "kilig moments." Yes, the arrival of "Bakekang" also on Monday is a great event for GMA-7. At least it also has heavy drama that will surely capture the CDE market that loves tearjerkers. But will "Atlantika" (Atlantic or Atlantis in English, the meaning of which is synonymous to a fantasy place) match the funny characterization of Makisig? Or is it going to be another "Majika" and CB?

In my humble opinion, I think it's about time to implement changes by switching back to the old but tested formula-that is the dramatic soap that majority Filipinos love to watch and embrace to the fullest.

like ko rin yung super inggo. from the start, alam ko ng maganda yung magiging feedback ng audience dito. sa PDA lang talaga ako may duda na magiging hit yung show na to and it turned out na ganun talaga ang nangyari. target audience kasi ng SI yung mga bata at mga young at heart. even the parents watch this show and they would recommend this to their children kasi may moral values ka na makukuha. walang maninipis na costume just to attract audiences and it is a fantaserye that is a reality because it shows that there is always a budong in every one of us who dreams to fly and become a superhero.

going back to primetime bida, it would be good if wala na lang Pinoy Dream Academy sa primetime ng weekdays kasi nakakaapekto na sya sa ratings ng Bituing Walang Ningning.

On Monday, Crazy For You will have its premiere and I am sure that it will rate 29% sa Lunes or even better pa nga kagaya nung sa Super Inggo na unexpected yung nakuha nung first telecast nila. If that will happen, magiging consistent na sa 30% yung mga primetime shows.

Let us accept na wala talagang dating yung PDA. We must still be thankful na sa lahat ng shows na pinalabas sa primetime this year ay yung Pinoy Dream Academy pa lang ang pumalpak sa ratings at sa concept unlike last year na parang wala ng ginawang tama yung ABS-CBN management. Mas maswerte tayo ngayong taon na ito because most of the ABS-CBN conceptualized shows ay hit unlike the other station na yung mga ginagawa nila lately ay nagpa-flop na. Di ko na lang sasabihin kung anu-ano yung mga shows na yun pero most of us naman ay alam na yung mga shows sa kabila na magtatapos na.

About the grossing films ng ABS-CBN, e.g. SUKOB--its teasers are only shown in ABS. why is it that it turned out to be one of the top grossing Filipino films? I dont know what your circumstances were, but your experience is isolated.

about sa ratings, still GMA leads...ABS is number 2..admitted na yan. what's new. if i were an investor or an advertiser, being number 1 is not only the issue--but the trend or the difference between the two.

Now, even though GMA has the ratings lead, what about the purchasing power of the people who watch its shows? if you were an advertiser, will you spend an ad for those who has high ratings but mostly DE market? or lower ratings but concentrated AB market?

Point taken,but I do think that Gma also gains sa pagpapalabas ng teaser ng FDH...income din sa kanila yun,since nagbayad naman ang rexona para ma-air sa gma ang advertisement nila(money is still money)..and kung mas powerful nga ang gma in terms of attracting gazillion of viewers,eh di sana puro gma stars na lang nilagay nila dito since you're pointing out na mas maraming nanonood ng gma...just my two cents:)

Bakit ang dami bang nagrereklamo sa paglagay ng ad ng FDH sa GMA? Di ba choice rin ng management ng GMA yun kung bakit nila pinapayagang ipalabas yun. In the first place, advertisement yun ng Rexona. Bakit naman magpipilit ang Star Cinema na i-plug yun dun sa GMA? Ganito na lang ang situation, pwede namang wag ng ipalabas ng Unilever yung ads ng FDH sa GMA pero pwede rin namang ipull-out nila lahat ng advertisements nila sa GMA and that includes other Unilever products. Imagine, GMA losing MILLIONS OF PESOS because of Unilever. Hindi rin naman pwedeng ipagmalaki ng GMA na ang dami ng nanonood sa kanila because for the past three months ay naging tight na ang competition ngayon and very obvious ang naging increase ng audience share sa ABS-CBN ngayon. About dun sa trailer ng FDH, ang ganda ng combination ng casts at talagang nag-fit yung mga roles nila sa movie. The five of them have that chemistry. I just hope na magkaroon din ng FDH version sa TV. That will be very interesting to watch.

specially so if you are no. 1 in the D-E market ... which, based on the ratings segmentation in mega manila, is the main source of gma's viewership. abs is leading widely on the A-B market ... and has a marginal lead on the C market.

qtv needs all the advertisements it can get lest they close shop. as for gma, maybe its part of their agreement with uniliver kaya they have no choice but to advertise fdh on their channel.

deserving naman ang Pedro penduko sa ratings na yan. pwede rin talaga siyang daily kaya lang mas mabuti na ring isang fantaserye lang sa primetime tuwing weekdays para may time naman ang mga bata para makapag-aral. kasi kung masyado ng loaded ng fantaserye sa gabi, mapupuyat na nga yung mga bata, di pa makapag-concentrate sa studies kasi nanonood nga ng TV. At least ngayon, tuwing weekends may aabangan na rin yung mga bata na mahihilig sa mga fantasy series.

The thing that I like sa Super Inggo is that hindi OA yung mga costumes and effects. Maganda ang visual effects na ginamit nila sa Power Academy. Very light ang colors kaya hindi masakit sa mata. Ang ganda rin ng story kasi very natural yung story. It shows the story of a child who wants to be a superhero and later on nalalaman nya na ang bawat taong nakapaligid sa kanya ay may mga extraordinary powers din. Madaling maka-relate sa story kahit may edad ka na kasi lahat naman tayo nuong bata tayo ay nangarap maging superhero.

Kinakabahan nga ako nung una kung tatanggapin ito ng tao although malaki talaga yung tiwala ko pa dati na maganda to. Worried lang ako nung una na baka nga di to tanggapin ng audience becoz mga baguhan pa lang yung bida plus the fact na we are not anymore number 1 sa Mega Manila. I am so happy that it got a very high rating sa pilot nito at nag-peak na sya sa 34.1% only on its second week. It really deserves the ratings na nakukuha nila becoz all of the people in this show gave their best.

Nangangamoy reformat ang SOP kapag sa mga susunod na linggo ay hindi “binawian” sa ratings ang katapat nitong ASAP 06.

’Yan ang naitsika sa amin ng isang taga-GMA-7, dahil ilang linggo na umanong tinatalo ng ASAP ang kanilang variety show.

“Kahit nga ano’ng itapat naming segment o artista, at kahit si Regine Velasquez pa ang itapat, ’pag umaapir na si Sam Milby, wala na. Kabog na ang SOP.

“Kasi, may hawak na per gap ratings ang SOP, at du’n nalalaman kung kaninong segment ang pinakamalakas, and it turned out na ’pag si Sam na ang lumalabas, nilalamon na ang viewership ng SOP.

“And surprisingly, nalolokah rin sila ’pag sina Kim Chiu at Gerald Anderson na ang lumalabas sa screen, ang taas din ng ratings ng gap ng magka-loveteam!”

Ayon pa sa aming kausap, inuobserbahan pa nila ang trending, ’pag hindi talaga kaya, magri-reformat ang SOP in three weeks’ time.
