Last two days to the Vietnam Rose Finale

Find the answer as we count the days to the Vietnam Rose finale when the journey of the two sisters ends this Friday, February 10. Join Maricel Soriano, Angelica Panganiban, Jay Manalo, John Estrada and the rest of the cast as they say good bye in this one of a kind teleserye.

Carina finally escaped from Alex’s prison with the help of Armando, her husband’s right hand man. But rescuing Carina did not leave Miguel unscathed because he gets into an encounter with Alex. Miguel managed to shoot Alex too, so he and Carina flee the scene. They don’t achieve freedom though as Fidel, Miguel’s father through his contacts in the police force stop Carina’s vehicle in a fake checkpoint and jail Miguel.

When Carina filed a case against Alex, the latter gives a press conference in the hospital saying that it was Miguel who had intended to harm him when he tried to take his wife back home. Carina on the other hand also gives her own press conference where she revealed Alex’s cruelty towards her. Lawyers also expressed that though Carina had done wrong, Alex had no right to act violently http://www.abs-cbn.com/imgs-tmp/vitfeb3.jpgtowards his wife and Miguel. The media pressed on that would Alex violent behavior justify that he too is involved in the murder of Adrianna, his mistress?

Faith, Carina and Alex’s daughter on the other hand has almost given up hope over her life but with Paolo’s support and encouragement decided that she will stick with her family. Alex, who was resting in his room, thanked Emilia and Armando for their loyalty despite the complicated situation between him and Carina. As he was wondering out loud how Miguel found Carina’s hiding place, Faith interrupts them and confesses that she and Paolo are in love. He happily gives them his blessings.

Paolo catched Alex smoking outside the house and thanked his father’s employer for allowing him to have a relationship with his daughter. Alex rudely stopped Paolo and offered him money to leave Faith. The young man defended his feelings for Faith but Alex warned him to stay away and threatened to hurt his family if Faith ever found out he asked him to. But bad luck for Alex for Faith was right there at the door listening to them talk. Faith packed her bags and attempted to leave with Paolo but Alex blocked their way and waved a gun in Paolo’s face. Armando, having heard the scuffle, shielded his son from Alex’s weapon. Faith finally ended her father’s madness when she said that he won’t have a daughter if he hurts Paolo and his dad.

Tin, who’s also staying at Vida’s resort was busily preparing food for the family when news of Carina’s case flashed on the TV. When Vida’s brother, Jaime saw Fidel’s face on the TV screen, he picked up the knife Tin was using and was intent to go to the mansion and kill the old man. Vida and Carina manage to calm him down and with the Vietnamese girl’s special gift, they were able to travel back in time to discover Fidel also the mastermind behind the massacre of Vida and Jaime’s parents. Vida declared that the past has finally come to haunt the present and reveal the truth.

Agoncillo na maging bida sa pilot episode ng bago nilang show na
Komiks last Saturday. Aba, kahit matindi ang tensiyon at mainit na

Wowowee Ultra stampede, hindi pa rin nakali-mutan ng mga supporters

Kuwento ng mga PRO ng GMA ay naiirita sila sa programang pini-PR
nila dahil ilang buwan na raw delayed ang TF nila. Say mismo ng isang publicist
na hindi na nakatiis ay, "Pumunta na ako mismo sa executive ng
programa, sabi ko, wala naman akong pagkukulang sa press releases nila, kung ano
ang ipinasusulat ay sinusulat ko naman, sana lang on time silang
magbayad."
Nagulat kami nung banggitin ang programang hindi nagbabayad ng
publicists nila dahil ito ang moneymaker ng GMA 7 for the last 4 years at kung
hindi rin kami nagkakamali ay sila ang may pinakamalaking inakyat na pera

"TFC is so important to us, this is our only way to be connected at home. We will keep on praying for all of us. Dahil kahit na sinong Pilipino, kahit magpalit pa kami ng citizenship, we still want to come home to our homeland. Naiiyak kami ng asawa ko dahil ito ay ugali ng tao ay hindi na hango sa utos ng ating Diyos at ng ating ninuno. Walang morale, walang pagmamahal sa tao, sa bayan o sa Diyos man lang. This is because of money, poverty and hunger.

Unity in time of tragedy

As I’ve mentioned last week, having a Bisaya friend like Jose Mari Chan is one of the nice things about being well, a Bisaya.

After reading that write-up, he called me right away to thank me. Of course,I still intend to interview him one of these days.

Jose Mari Chan is known for his beautiful love songs. He couldn’t miss singing for fans especially on Valentine’s Day. I can’t wait to attend that event. This will be my first time ever watching him perform. Well, it will actually be my first time ever watching a show on Valentine’s Day.

Usually, I just stay home and watch DVDs or have a nice dinner with some of my closest single friends.

This year, I celebrate my second year of being single. I say celebrate because it’s nice to be single. Being one doesn’t necessarily mean being loveless.

Love has no meaning of its own. The emotion only defines itself in our hearts. It’s one of the most powerful things in life that can make or break us.

It’s nice to love and be loved. It’s just a matter of distinguishing the thin line between love and obsession. That’s one of the things people get confused about. Some of my friends seem very happy with their partners. But having disagreements often shows they may be having what we call a "dependent relationship." They’ve gotten so used to each other they can’t do without one another.

It’s very unhealthy at times when lovers spend so much time with each other and forget all about living their own separate lives. This may sound good at first, but in most of the cases I’ve heard of, the persons concerned end up in a dependent relationship.

Giving each other space to grow, I guess, is the best way to prevent this type of relationship.

Anyway, that’s not really something I should be concerned about because I’m happily single right now.

A few weeks back, my bestfriend Adriane and I talked about spending this special day together. Adriane, or should I say my "conscience" and "better half," has been my best friend ever since I got here in Manila.

Having a friend like him is pretty much like having a partner. He’s someone I can discuss a lot of things with before making big decisions.

In spite of our busy schedules, we still manage to find time to have dinner even just for a few minutes and talk about all sorts of things.

He keeps me grounded and makes me feel that loving and being loved don’t necessarily mean having a "boyfriend."

So, I’m pretty much looking forward to spending this Valentine’s Day with him for the first time.

After all, Valentine’s Day is all about spending that special day with those you love, right?

Speaking of love, I feel that this Valentine’s Day should be extra special because the stampede tragedy that took place in ULTRA clearly showed that there "is" still love in the community.

That very tragic event happened on a Saturday, but I only decided to turn my TV on to watch the news the following Monday. I was so devastated. Like they say, everything happens for a reason, right?

This may have been one of the most devastating events on TV, but something good came out of it.

It was heartwarming to find the other network, GMA 7, reach out to those in need as well.

The thing that got to me the most was seeing ABS-CBN CEO Gabby Lopez delivering his statement on GMA 7.

That was when I realized the forces of love can be strong enough to put the network war aside. I think this unity should be celebrated as well this Valentine’s Day.

Ricky stays in the (big) picture

ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) TV host and news anchor Ricky Carandang never imagined himself facing the TV cameras after completing his management economics course at the Ateneo de Manila University. He worked as a stockbroker, but got bored with the job, so he tried his luck in Hong Kong to apply in banks. However, the financial crisis had affected the Asian money market, so he wasn’t fortunate enough to get hired.

One entertainment columnist noted Ricky could have made it in showbiz, what with his height and (the pre-requisite) good looks. Although the comment flattered Ricky, the son of noted psychologist Honey Carandang and Dr. Brigido Carandang, was not keen on invading the entertainment scene.

Returning to Manila, Ricky worked at the helm of Market Watch, the 12-page newsletter for stockbrokers.

"For some reason, the newsletter landed in the hands of ABS-CBN people, who asked me to provide additional content to the business reports of ANC," Ricky shares.

Market Watch later merged with Newsbreak when a business tycoon acquired the latter. Ricky subsequently became in-charge of business affairs at Newsbreak. Given the chance to work occasionally on TV, too, he realized that TV was a "more lucrative business," that’s why he made a career move and transferred to ABS-CBN.

Ricky worked at ANC, where he was given the news program Dateline: Philippines and the daily business show, ANC Money. He gets to do news coverage and interviews for ABS-CBN, too.

Recently, Ricky was given another assignment to host a talk show, The Big Picture, the latest addition to ANC’s roster of credible and reliable news and current affairs programs, with Paulyn Halili as executive producer.

The Big Picture brings the lowdown on issues of national and international relevance. "We try to take a broader look at things," Ricky informs. "We can do topics that don’t get tackled at length in news or current affairs programs. We can even do human interest interviews."

The show cross examines the most pressing concerns on politics, society, government policies and economics in the country today. With high-level subject matter experts and people respected in their fields as guests, the show gives the viewers the scoop straight from insiders themselves.

Tough and incisive, Ricky is the person policy-makers talk to when they want their views heard. "We’ve lined up interviews not just with politicians, but with business leaders, as well," Ricky says. "We’ll try to talk about things that don’t get normally covered by the news."

After its maiden telecast last Jan. 12, The Big Picture had so far guested House Speaker Joe de Venecia, Bishop Teodoro Bacani and Sen. Gringo Honasan.

"I want to do an interview with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and ask her about so many things that people had always wanted to ask her," Ricky grants. "I’ve interviewed her in the past about serious national matters, but I want a very candid conversation this time. I also want to interview former First Lady Imelda Marcos and request her to talk about the alleged ill-gotten wealth of the family."

Ricky also expresses his desire to guest ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III, "who can talk about the businesses of the Lopez family," as well as recaptured Oakwood mutineer Marine Captain Nicanor Faeldon and his alleged girlfriend Capt. Candy Rivas.

Asked how his show differs with that of the other programs on ANC, Ricky reasons out, "Each of the shows on ANC brings with itself the personality of its hosts. The hosts infuse their own distinct mark into the show, like Get Real is really Ces Drilon’s much as Strictly Politics is Pia Hontiveros’ and Straight Talk is Cito Beltran’s. I’d like to think that The Big Picture also carries my mark as a host."

Acknowledging that hosting is a "stressful job," Ricky nonetheless enjoys what he does and finds challenge in his job. "It’s always challenging to do interviews because you’ll never know what your guests will say," Ricky allows. "You have to have your bearing all the time. I had a politician who shouted at me because he didn’t like the question I asked him. But the most important thing is that I love what I do."

The Big Picture airs Thursdays, 9 p.m. on ANC, with replays at 11 p.m. on Fridays, 9 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. on Sundays.

'Journalists first, employees second'

MARIA RESSA, ABS-CBN News chief, said on Wednesday she made it clear to the news staff that they were journalists first, and ABS-CBN employees second.

Ressa's team was the first to arrive at the scene of the "Wowowee" stampede on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The former CNN correspondent for Southeast Asia said in an exclusive interview with Inquirer Entertainment:

"I told everybody to pretend that they were working for someone else-GMA-7 or Reuters or CNN-other than ABS-CBN in covering this story. We are journalists first and foremost. We want to lead the story, the investigation. I told the staff (during a general assembly after the stampede) to ask hard questions."

Critical

Ressa pointed out that the team had covered similar incidents in the past. "But this was different," she said, "because it involved ABS-CBN. The first 24 hours after the tragedy was critical for the She talked to Charrie Villa, head of news gathering, and Luchi Cruz-Valdez, head of current affairs, the next day, Ressa said, and they "made the delineation" together. Essentially, this meant to "forget corporate and what they have to do."

Villa said she likened the news team to doctors, "who should treat the patient before asking who's going to pay."

She elaborated: "I asked our news editors to be more critical...to find the people who said negative things about ABS-CBN. I wanted those sound bytes."

Ressa said she was certain that televiewers would quickly switch to another channel if they thought the ABS-CBN new coverage was biased.

Villa noted that the news organization of ABS-CBN is routinely accused of protecting the interests of its owners, the Lopezes.

"But we ... run the newsroom the best way we can as journalists," she said. "That's why we (herself, Ressa and Cruz-Valdez) are called the three witches."

In fact, Villa was sure more people were watching ABS-CBN's coverage of the stampede "to see how we're handling it."

They took it as an opportunity to "show our credibility," she said.

Even it's ABS-CBN that's in a spot, Ressa stressed, "the news will always say everything."

'Housemate' in big trouble

DAVAO CITY-Looks like "Pinoy Big Brother" celebrity housemate Gretchen Malalad is in big trouble. She may lose her job in the military because she failed to ask permission from her superiors before entering the contest.

Lt. Col. Restituto Padilla, Philippine Air Force (PAF) spokesperson, told the Inquirer by phone that Malalad, who holds the rank of Airwoman Second Class (AW2C), was declared absent without leave (AWOL) on Thursday.

Malalad's job is unknown to many. Most fans know her only as the gold medalist in karatedo during the 23rd Southeast Asian games. Her PBB housemates have no clue.

Padilla said Malalad was already in trouble as early as January, when she stopped reporting for work at the Air Force Service Support Group (AFSSG) in Villamor Air Base.

She made things worse by joining PBB, he said.

Surprise!

Malalad's superiors and colleagues didn't know what she was up to, Padilla said, until they saw her on TV. "
If Malalad fails to report in the next few days, he added, she will be penalized. Soldiers who go AWOL are normally kicked out; some face administrative charges.

Padilla said Malalad, 26, also failed to report for Basic Military Training, which all soldiers are required to undergo.

The first cycle of the three-month training started Thursday at the Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas.

A few of Malalad's colleagues pointed out that her joining PBB violated "every PAF rule." Plus, they said, her "very long hair" runs contrary to the requirement of short hair for soldiers.

Nominee Keanna said that although she has learned to accept the reality of being possibly evicted next Saturday, she still fervently hopes that the viewers will help her in extending her stay in Big Brother’s house. “Ayaw ko munang umuwi. Gusto ko munang magpahinga dito dahil konting tao lang nakikita ko," Keanna disclosed.



Just like Keanna, the other nominee, Rudy also wants to spend more time with the other housemates. "Gusto kong manatili pero kung hindi magsuporta sa aking ang tao sa aking mga ginagawa, taos puso kong tatanggapin kung ano rin ang naging karagdagan ng pagtira ko sa iyong bahay," Rudy told Big Brother as he shared his sentiments regarding last night’s nomination.

No Hard Feelings



Although she emerged as the top choice for eviction, According to Keanna, she doesn't feel any anger towards the other housemates, stressing that she perfectly understands why they wanted her to face eviction.

A very emotional nomination night



The housemates became very emotional right after last night’s nomination. Most of them cried as Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition host Toni Gonzaga announced that one among their friends, Keanna, Rudy and Rico, would eventually leave the house on February 18.



Right after the show, the other housemates embraced the three nominees in an effort to provide comfort to their disheartened friends. They also advised them to remain strong and enjoy their stay in Kuya’s house.

Ok, so she may still be “Jenny from the Block” but is anyone else sick of Latino Superstar Jennifer Lopez’s film choices of late? She seems to be playing the same character in the same sort of movies. You know the ones, they’re usually from the Bronx, are down on their luck, supposedly repellent, have those dangling $2 earrings and constantly referrer to their harsh dirt-trodden upbringing. Oh, but of course, that’s not going to stop her from ending up with her leading man by the films end.

Ok, glad we’re on the same page. Now here’s the discouragement: she’s playing that same character again here.

A “Cinderella” story obviously inspired by “Pretty Woman”, “Manhattan” casts Jlo as Marisa Ventura (Lopez), a maid at New York City's high-status Beresford Hotel. One day, while unlawfully trying on the clothing of a prosperous guest, Marisa is caught red-handed by Senatorial aspirant Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes), who has just met Marisa's son, Ty (Tyler Posey). But instead of confessing that she’s simply the maid, she pretends she’s actually the owner of the clothing – and hence, her rich suitor would be only more attracted.

A film of mistaken identity and opposites attracting, there’s not much in “Manhattan” that you’ve haven’t seen before. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Jennifer Lopez was a better actress before she set her sights on a recording career and employed a nipple tweaker. In fact, the material in this film is so anachronistic and trouble-free; it might have been better suited to one of those Hallmark romances.

But to its merit, “Manhattan” is an easy watch. It’s significantly more entertaining that her last fiasco “Enough”, and the charismatic Ralph Fiennes adds to the film that little touch of class. Secondly, it’ll have most females digging around in their handbags for the nearest Kleenex. And in their books, it’ll then be a success.

But how are we supposed to adore something that not even the film’s writer wants to get credit for. Yes folks, that’s John Hughes – acclaimed scribe of “The Breakfast Club” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” - using the pseudonym Esmond Dantes.

Isa si Rico sa tatlong nominees sa 14 housemates sa Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity (PBBC) for eviction sa susunod na Saturday. Ang dalawa ay sina Rudy Fernandez at Keanna Reeves.

I doubt if he will emerge the champ in the end. But I would not wish him to leave Kuya's house this early. His presence sa show make this PBBC episode interesting, exciting and heartwarming.

Sayang at di yata talaga 'sold' si Roxanne (Barcelo) na ibigin si Rico. Hindi nadala si Roxanne sa paiyak-iyak ni Rico.

Ganunpaman, sa totoo lang, they look good together. Nagkataon kasing pareho silang good-looking.

Maganda ang kuwento kung paano naisip ni Mrs. F na gawing pelikula ang buhay ni Manny. Minsan daw na nanonood siya ng tv, napanood niya ang laban ni Pacquaio kay Mark Antonio Barrera.

Tail-end na ng laban ang naabutan niya. But the eksena which impressed Mrs. F the most was then itinaas si Manny ng mga taong nakapaligid sa kanya. Bagama't duguan, pawisan at luhaan si Manny, may kakaibang 'dating' siya. 'Yong tipong victorious.

The next time Mrs. F knew, kinakausap na niya si Manny. She offered him a three- picture contract. Ang unang pelikula is about 'his story' with another actor playing 'him'. The next two will have Manny portray himself.

Three years ago nang mag-stop mag-produce ng movie si Mrs. F. The film: You and Me Against The World, co-starring Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino.

For a while, Mrs. F concentrated on her real estate business. Na talaga namang naging very successful.

Masakit man sa loob naming hindi makapunta sa last presscon ng third movie ng love team na sina John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo and the first movie for Close Up to Fame winners Carinne Cabebe and Reyson Yap and our favorite PBB Boy Sam Milby (pati na rin ang album launch niya from Star Cinema) dahil out of the country kami.

Hopefully, maabutan na-min ang premiere ng pelikula before it opens nationwide this Wednesday.

Sam, by the way, toge-ther with Toni Gonzaga, sung the new theme song of PBB although the song is not part of his self-titled debut album from Star Re-cords.

This we're sure dahil may copy kami, signed pa niya, and it has only eight songs plus seven minus one tracks.

By the way, the album does not contain ng duet version nila ni Say Alonzo na Magmahal Muli. Ang naririto ay ang solo rende-ring lang ni Sam.

Nakakaaliw talaga ang Spring Day. Nagtataka talaga ako bakit hindi nilagay ng ABS ang Spring Day sa primetime pero kung iko-compare naman ito sa mga previous na Koreanovelas na napalagay sa primetime eh mas deserving naman ito sa halos 80% ng napalagay sa primetime nila. Siguro yung kabagalan ng takbo ng kuwento at yung pagiging tahimik ng Spring Day at pagiging melodramatic nito ang dahilan kung bakit napalagay ito sa ganung timeslot. Para kang nanonood ng isang Endless Love series pag napanood mo ang Spring Day, pero syempre, with biases na rin, mas maganda ang Spring Day.

Si Philip ay nakapagsalita na sa kanyang ama sa kanuna-unahang pagkakataon, yun nga lang sampal ang inabot nya kanina sa ama nya. Kasi isinumbat nito na parang dati yata ay namatayan ng pasyente ang ama nito kaya nga ayaw na sana ni Philip na magdoctor kung hindi nga lang sa pamimilit ng kanyang ama. Dahil sa sobrang deperession ay naghanap si Philip ng matatawagan sa celphone nya at ang Kuya Leo nya ang tinawagan nya na nasa isang probinsya nga in search of a long-lost mother. Tapos nung makausap na nya si Leo ay di naman sya naririnig nito. Ang tanging sinabi lang ni Philip ay dapat daw sabihin ni Leo kung saan itinago nitong si Leo ang robot na plastic na kahit daw si Leo ang nag-assemble ay mas malaki naman daw ang share ni Philip. Ito raw kasing robot na ito ang favorite nya sa lahat. Iyak ng iyak si Philip habang kausap nya si Leo sa celphone.

Nung matapos ang tugtog ay napaiyak si Cristine. Sinabihan ni Leo si Cristine na dapat daw pag tumutugtog ay dapat alam nyang may isang taong nakikinig sa kanya ng totoo at yun ang dapat pag-alayan nya ng pagtugtog. Kahit daw napakaraming nakikinig o walang masyadong nakikinig ay dapat alam nya na may isang tunay na nakikinig sa kanya at sapat na yun para ipagpatuloy ang kanyang pagtugtog.

Araw na rin yun ng pag-alis ni Leo sa bahay ng doctor at nagpaalam na rin sya kay Cristine na hindi pa rin kumikibo hanggang nung oras na yun. May ibinigay ang doctor kay Leo na scarf na makapal na galing nga kay Cristine. Pabaon daw ito sa pag-alis nya. Sinabi ng doctor na wala pa daw ginagawan ng ganun si Cristine, si Leo pa lang. kahit daw ang doctor mismo ay di pa ginagawan ng ganung klaseng scarf ni Cristine kaya nagbiro si Leo na nagseselos daw ang doctor sa kanya.

Paalis na si Leo sa bahay at nagpaalam na sa doctor at sinabing babalik daw sya. Sinabihan ng doctor si Leo na wag daw itong mangako. Ng paalis na sya ay may nakalimutan daw sya. Nagpaalam muna sya kay Cristine na natutulog kunwari sa kuwarto. Si Leo ay nasa labas ng nakasarang pinto ng nagpapaalam sya kay Cristine. Sinabi ni Leo na aalis na daw sya talaga. Nagtago lang sa ilalim ng kumot si Cristine.

Ng umalis na si Leo ay bumangon na si Cristine. Naglalakad si Leo papunta sa piyer ng marinig nyang may tumutugtog ng piano. Alam nyang si Cristine yun kaya masaya syang nagpatuloy sa paglalakad sa kalsada. Nung nasa yate na sya a napansin nyang may tumatakbong babae na hinahabol ang sinasakyan nya. Sabi ni Leo sa kanyang sarili ay sana raw ay sabihin ni Cristine na mahal sya nito. Di maibuka ni Cristine ang bibig nya nung umpisa.

Sinabi ni Leo kay Cristine na lakasan ang pagsasalita kasi di nya ito marinig. Hanggang sa tuluyan ng makapagsalita si Cristine ng sunud-sunod at nakikiusap ito kay Leo na wag na sana itong umalis. Nag-iiiyak na si Cristine at napapatalon na sya sa pag-iyak sa pakiusap na wag na sanang umalis si Leo. Si Leo naman ay di makapaniwala sa kanyang narinig kay Cristine.

Nakakaaliw talaga ang Spring Day. Nagtataka talaga ako bakit hindi nilagay ng ABS ang Spring Day sa primetime pero kung iko-compare naman ito sa mga previous na Koreanovelas na napalagay sa primetime eh mas deserving naman ito sa halos 80% ng napalagay sa primetime nila. Siguro yung kabagalan ng takbo ng kuwento at yung pagiging tahimik ng Spring Day at pagiging melodramatic nito ang dahilan kung bakit napalagay ito sa ganung timeslot. Para kang nanonood ng isang Endless Love series pag napanood mo ang Spring Day, pero syempre, with biases na rin, mas maganda ang Spring Day.

Kinilabutan kami at nabagbag sa kuwento ni Gary Valenciano tungkol sa mga nasaksihan niyang eksena nu’ng magtungo siya sa Medical City ilang oras matapos maganap ang trahedya sa ULTRA nu’ng Pebrero 4.

Kaya pala ganu’n na lang ang pagiging emosyonal at pagluha niya sa madamdaming opening number nila sa ASAP ‘06 kinabukasan ay dahil personal niyang nakita ang kalagayan ng mga naging biktima ng Wowowee stampede.

"We went to the hospital a few hours after the incident. I was there first, and then Zsa Zsa (Padilla) went, I think Echo (Jericho Rosales) also and Donita (Rose).

"There were some artists na pumunta rin pero kami lang ‘yung right away, we were there. Before lunchtime pa, nandu’n na kami," salaysay ni Gary nang makausap namin nu’ng Sabado nang hapon sa presscon ng post-Valentine concert nila ni Ms. Zsa Zsa na Faces of Love 2 (sa Pebrero 18 & 19 sa NBC Tent, The Fort).

"Noon ko lang nakita ‘yung Medical City na napaka-busy talaga! Have you been inside Medical City? It’s beautiful inside. It’s a beautiful facility.

"They have enough to take care of that many people who were all there! Some were already in the ICU or in the emergency cubicles and when you see them, sometimes they would walk up and they just hug the paramedics like that! No words, they just weep!

"And when I was there, marami pang media and press people outside looking inside. A lot were just making usyoso. But when I went in, more people were in shock, eh! More than anything else, they were shocked.

"Kaya hindi masyadong magulo. Kasi, most people were just sitting down, some of them were just crying. Lalo na when I looked at them and they saw me, they cried because they were all in shock!

"And ‘yung mga images lang nila and their voices… the words that they were saying, talagang you could see na they went (to ULTRA) for very simple desires. And we all know why they were there, di ba?

"I didn’t see the dead bodies. I know they were there but I didn’t go up to see them. I mean, they’re not here anymore, the dead people are gone. Now, what about the people who have to face the burden of living alone?

"So, I spent time with those who were alive. I know that Willie (Revillame, host ng Wowowee) was there and all.

"I could’ve gone but I decided not to, because there was this young girl who came up to me and tugged me and said, ‘Pwede n’yo pong ipag-pray ang lola ko? Kasi, naano po ‘yung leeg niya, eh?’

"So, I went… and then siguro, mga 15 minutes after I prayed, naglalakad na ‘yung lola na hawak ‘yung leeg niya! I said, ‘O, okey ka na?’ And then, there’s another one I went to, she went daw (to ULTRA) because if she didn’t go and if she didn’t win (sa Wowowee), her kids would be forced to go to the streets and start working to pay for their schooling!

"So, she wanted to go dahil baka sakaling manalo siya at kahit konti eh, matagalan pa ‘yung pagtatrabaho ng mga anak niya sa kalsada. And of course, that thing happened…

"Iyung isa naman na nakausap ko, ‘yung hinahanap niya, ang name was Jocelyn. And according sa kanya, nakita niya si Jocelyn na nasa puno. Tapos, nu’ng kukunin na sana niya si Jocelyn, nahulog ito sa puno at hindi na niya nakita! Tapos, na-knockout na rin daw siya. Parang it was like a tsunami... a tsunami of people!

"But the one that got me was the image of one old woman. She was sitting down and she was just rubbing her thumb like that, there was no expression on her face…

"Syempre, you go up to them at tatanungin mo, ‘O, kamusta ka na?’ Pero parang mali yata ‘yung tanong na ‘yon, di ba? You just have to say, ‘I’m sorry’ or ‘Sama-sama tayo.’ Eh, wala akong masabi sa kanya...

"So, I just held her like that and as I held her, she started to cry! And that was the image that came into my mind in ASAP. Parang that was the representation of what everybody felt," emosyonal na lahad ni Gary.

"He’s built up a certain feel for the audience. For me, ibahin lang nila ‘yung pangalan ng show and work on the parameters especially when they go out of town.

"Kasi, I think Wowowee went beyond anybody’s expectations, eh! Na dadalhin pa sa States and all… you know, it was supposed to meet the needs of the masses, pero ang nangyari, it met the needs of everyone!

"For me, you cannot kill this kind of show. Of course, some people say na the problem with the show is hindi na magtratrabaho ‘yung mga Pilipino, lalong magiging tamad and all...

"Ang sagot naman ni Willie doon, I think on radio, was that, ‘Mabuti kung makakahanap sila ng trabaho. Eh, kung hindi? Hindi naman pwedeng magbulag-bulagan lang tayo. Nakikita ko itong mga taong ito sa kalsada, wala akong gagawin? Ito na ‘yung pagkakataon na makatulong ako!’

Nag-audition si Marvin at magri-reading na sana, kaya lang, natagalan at hindi nito nahintay dahil may previous appointment. Umalis si Marvin at kumalat ang tsikang hindi ito makapaghintay at nag-inarte. The next thing Marvin knew, si Ryan na ang napiling maging leading man ni Sarah.Para hindi ma-disappoint, inisip na lang ni Marvin na hindi para sa kanya ang project.

Hindi rin naman siya nababakante and in fact, nagsimula na siyang mag-shooting ng pelikulang ‘Wag Kang Lilingon at marami pang darating na project.Unfair ito kay Ryan pero, may nag-aabang na sa BWN para makita kung kaya niya ang natokang role. Pero, tiyak na ikukumpara siya kay Marvin sa ayaw at gusto niya.

Naiirita ako sa OA na bestfriend ni Lulu aka Vivian. At naiinis naman ako kasi nagpapatawa ang Lulu kesa lumabas syang nakakatawa talaga, unlike LIP!

But then, first night pa lang naman ito and I hope Lulu has something more to offer. Buti na lang galing magdala si Vivian aka Lulu. Sya talaga ang bumubuhay sa mga eksena!

The celebrity housemates got a nice surprise from Big Brother yesterday when he let them spend their day playing and bonding with some unexpected visitors in his house!



Who let the dogs in?



The housemates immediately knew that there was a surprise waiting for them when they heard yesterday's one of a kind wakeup call. Instead of the usual recorded wakeup calls, loud barks from the garden awaken the housemates.



The housemates, particular Rustom, John, Bianca and Rico jumped for joy since they never expected to see their "best friends" inside Big Brother's house. The dogs that became instant "housemates" were Rustom's pet Ihman (Labrador), John's pet Boss (German Shepherd), Bianca's dog named Presley (Pomeranian) and Rico's dog Coke (Dachshund).



Big Brother also let the housemates play with his pet Miggy, who immediately became the favorite pet of the other celebrities.



A Surprise for Aleck



While most of the housemates were already having fun with their visitors, Aleck was seemingly sad since she thought that Kuya failed to bring in her pet "Chibi." the bombshell in distress was caught by surprise when she saw her pet waiting for her inside the storage room. She immediately took Chibi to the garden to let the housemates see the tricks that her dog could perform.

Aside from the fact that she's allergic to dogs, the la fashionista is also scared of them. She didn't immediately go out to the garden for fear that the pets of her fellow housemates might bite her. But later on, Mich conquered her fear and started to mingle with the dogs.



Since they already missed their pets, Rico, Bianca, Aleck, John and Rusto spent the whole morning playing and having a bonding session with the dogs. If Rico is Roxie's least favorite housemate, Coke, on the other hand, became Roxie's favorite pet spending most of her time taking care of Rico's dog.



It was already 5PM when Big Brother asked the housemates to say goodbye to their visitors. Knowing that it would take time before they would be able to see their best friends again, some of the pet owners embraced and even kissed their dogs before taking them to the storage room.



"Aso't Pusa" Moments

Maraming negative publicity ngayon ang kumakalat against Heart Evangelista. Lalo pa ngayong malakas ang ugong-ugong na lilisanin na niya ang ABS-CBN dahil mayroon na siyang ibang talent manager at ito ay si Angeli Pangilinan. Tatapusin na lang diumano ni Heart ang project niya in Panday.

Ayon sa ilang sources, may dahilan pala ang change of heart ni Heart. Balitang hindi na maganda ang relasyon ng batang aktres sa tatay-tatayan ng mga artista ng Dos na si Mr. Johnny Manahan. Ang pinagmulan ng gulo ay ang diumano’y pagtanggi ni Mr. M na payagan si Heart na sumama sa US tour ng Hunks kamakailan.

Gusto umanong sumama ni Heart dahil nga naman naroon ang rumored boyfriend niyang si Jericho Rosales. Willing daw siyang i-shoulder ang air fare, accommodation at iba pang expenses basta payagan lang siyang sumama sa Amerika. Ayon pa sa ilang insider, may nakakita raw kay Heart na lumuhod pa kay Mr. M. Kaso lamang ay hindi siya nito pinayagan.

Ganun na lamang ba katindi ang pagmamahal ni Heart kay Echo para gawin nito ang mga bagay na so unbecoming of her? Mula nang tanggihan ni Mr. M sa kanyang request ay naging pasaway na si Heart. Isang major na pasaway na ginawa niya ay nang magpunta siya ng Amerika kahit pa nga hectic ang schedule niya sa trabaho rito. Dahil sa biglaan niyang pagpunta sa US ay kumalat ang spekulasyon na buntis si Heart at magpapalaglag sa States. Pero mariin namang dineny na ito ng aktres.

Isa pang pangit na kwento ng pagiging head over heels in love ni Heart kay Echo ay ang sinasabing pagiging sugar mommy nito sa boyfriend. October pa lang daw last year ay mag-on na sila at mula noon ay shinashower na ng mamahaling regalo ni Heart si Echo. Diumano’y nakita silang nagshoshopping sa Greenbelt together pero si Heart naman ang nagbayad ng kanilang mga pinamili na puro para kay Echo. Nang malaman daw ito ng parents ni Heart ay pinaputol ng mga ito ang credit card niya.

Finally ay inamin na rin ni Jericho Rosales ang real score sa kanila ni Heart Evangelista. Nalito pa nga ang binata sa pagsasabing nine months na sila ni Heart at ito ay nangyari sa set ng Panday. Pero nang bilangin kung ilang buwan nang tumatakbo ang kanilang serye, lumabas na five months pa lang pala sila ng young actress.

Sa pag-aming ito ay maraming nagsabing showbiz na showbiz talaga ang dating nila Echo at Heart para ideny nila ito noong una tapos ay aaminin din naman later on. Ayon kay Echo, decision nila ni Heart ang itago muna ang relationship nila pero para nga matigil na rin ang pangungulit ng mga tao, minabuti na niyang aminin na girlfriend na nga niya ang leading lady.

Itinanggi ni Echo na tutol sa kanya ang parents ni Heart lalo na ang daddy nito. Sinabi niyang hindi pa sila nagkakakilala nito ng personal pero si Heart ay naipakilala na niya sa parents niya. Boto naman daw ang mga ito sa batang aktres kaya happy si Echo. Tinatawanan na lang daw nilang dalawa ni Heart ang issue sa pagbubuntis nito. Sinabi niyang he’s learned his lesson not to joke about it dahil napipickup ng press ang ibang meaning nito tapos ay napapalaki na.

Ngayong birthday ng kanyang lady love, naisip ni Echo na regaluhan ito ng motorbike pero dahil lately ay madalas atakihin ng asthma si Heart, nagbago na ng isip ang aktor. Sinabi niyang hindi na lamang iyon ang ireregalo niya kundi something more special than that.

For the very first time, nakita ng madla ang pagiging emotional ni Joey de Leon. Binasag ng beteranong comedian at TV host ang kanyang pananahimik tungkol sa isyung kumalat sa text kung saan nagpasaring diumano siya sa kalabang show nang araw na maganap ang trahedya sa ULTRA.

Mabilis na kumalat ang text message na ito sa loob ng showbiz. Nakarating kay Joey ang balita pero pinigilan umano siya ng management ng Eat Bulaga na sagutin ang issue sa pamamagitan ng kanilang show para na rin hindi na ito lumaki pa. Ayon sa mga nakatanggap, nagbitiw umano si Joey ng katagang “’Wag na kayo sa mga patay, dito na kayo sa mga buhay” sabay nagwestra ng pagilit sa leeg. Para sa isang tulad ni Joey na nakasanayan na ng publiko sa kanyang pagpapasaring, marami rin ang naniwala.

Gustuhin mang sagutin ni Joey ang akusasyon, pinatahimik na lamang siya ng Eat Bulaga. Lumuluha niyang sinabi na hinding hindi niya magagawa ang bagay na pinaparatang sa kanya. Napakasakit umano nito dahil sa loob ng isang linggo ay hindi niya naipagtanggol man lang ang sarili. Masakit daw na paratangan siya sa isang bagay na hindi naman niya ginawa.

Hamon pa ni Joey ay ipakita ang ebidensiyang ginawa at sinabi niya nga iyon ng episode na iyon. At kung sakali mang mapatunayang nagawa niya iyon ay hinding hindi na siya makikita pa sa telebisyon kahit kailan. Ginawa pala ni Joey ang pagsasalitang iyon ng hindi alam ng mga executive ng Eat Bulaga kaya nasabi niyang sibakin na siya kung iyon ang kagustuhan ng management pero kelangan lang niyang ipagtanggol ang sarili. Hindi lang daw ito para sa kanya kundi para kay Jocas, ang anak niyang nag-aaral sa Amerika. Ayon na rin kay Joey, si Jocas daw ang siyang pumilit sa kanya na magsalita at ipagtanggol ang sarili.

Hindi man aminin nang diretso ay masasabi ngang may relasyong namamagitan kina Jean Garcia at Joey Marquez ngayon. Sa nakaraang episode ng S-Files ay nag-guest si Jean doon kung saan may one-on-one interview sila ni Joey. Sa pagkakatabi pa lang ng dalawa ay halatang hindi lamang friendship ang namamagitan sa kanila. Hindi mapuknat ang ngiti ni Jean habang titig na titig sa kanya si Tsong.

Nang tinanong ni Jean kung may girlfriend ba si Joey, hindi ito sumagot. Biniro pa ni Jean na hindi kaya si Alicia Mayer ang girlfriend niya ngayon na itinanggi naman ng comedian. Ayon sa mga balita, nagkadevelopan umano ang dalawa dahil sa constant group dating na ginagawa nila. Initially, kay Jomari Yllana pala talaga ipinapartner si Jean pero mukhang kay Joey siya nag-fall. Monteverde’s persistence is paying off, and GMA Films was right in latching itself on the production even way after the film was almost done.

The news sent Lily, her daughter Roselle Montiverde-Teo, and Anette Gozon-Abrogar of GMA Films literally jumping around in glee.

The day before, the producers also got the news that the film received a B grade from the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), the special body tasked by the government to select quality films to be given tax incentives.

Screenwriter and Cinema Evaluation Board member Roy Iglesias said “It’s a movie without pretentions (sic), a fan movie that is well made. The two leads, Angel and Richard, did a good job and will surely widen their fan base here.”

“The recognition from the fans and the Cinema Evaluation Board make our producing team stronger and motivate us to do more excellent movies together,” says Annette Gozon-Abrogar, referring to GMA Films’ co-production deal with Regal Entertainment

“We thank the public and the Cinema Evaluation Board for their support,” declares Roselle Monteverde-Teo. “It’s really a very, very happy Valentine for all of us at GMA Films and Regal!” says Mother Lily.

I Will Always Love You is the second collaboration of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment. Mulawin, The Movie, their first project, received a grade of A from the Cinema Evaluation Board. Also, I Will Always Love You is the second movie of Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez to be recognized by the CEB, thus showing that their love team is not only popular with the fans, but also acknowledged by the discriminating professionals in the movie industry.

In appreciation, Regal Entertainment and GMA Films will have a Valentine treat for all moviegoers.

All the moviegoers who have paid for admission tickets to I Will Always Love You from now until Feb. 19 are eligible to join the promo. Every ticket entitles a patron to one raffle coupon to be handed out by the checker at the lobby. The coupon must be filled out completely with name address and signature and dropped into the box provided at the theater lobby on or before Feb. 19.

The grand raffle draw will be held on Feb. 23 on Eat… Bulaga! Three winners will receive trips for two to Hong Kong Disneyland for four days and three nights. One winner will receive the grand prize of P100,000 cash.

And since the time she starred in the soap opera Mara Clara, she has grown to become one of showbiz’s more popular drama stars.

In fact, even Judy Ann’s personal dealings have become a big thing for her supporters and critics alike. Her love affairs with her leading men, like Wowie de Guzman, Rico Yan, and Piolo Pascual, whether serious or not, have been the subject of debates, argument among fans.

But after all the things she had gone through, nobody can deny that Judy Ann has finally found happiness. During a recent interview with her, it was very obvious that she is madly in love as her eyes twinkle when we started to talk about the love she waited for so long—Ryan Agoncillo.

“I waited for so long before he (Ryan) came into my life. I had many suitors before but I don’t know if they were for real,” says Judy Ann, adding that it took her nine years before finally meeting the person she hopes she could live with for the rest of her life.

“It’s hard to trust (anyone) and maybe that’s the reason it took me so long to get into another relationship,” discloses Judy Ann, avoiding reference to her own fear that some men might actually be just using her.

The young actress said that her relationship with her first boyfriend in showbiz, Wowie, did not last because they were both young then and they were both easily affected by the intrigues surrounding their relationship.

“I feel lucky,” quips Juday “because even though we are surrounded by intrigues, he (Ryan) just ignores it. He even helped me bring my self-confidence back which I lost once.”

Ryan, on the other hand, says he cherishes his relationship so much with his beloved as they get to discover many new things about each other every day. He just, however, refuses to comment if they have plans to settle down soon, explaining his relationship with Judy Ann is still young.

“Let’s wait for it to mature before we can say we have plans to settle down. We talked about it sometimes but not so seriously,” Ryan said. He added, “Well for me, every time I enter into a relationship, I always think that this woman with me and the one that I love is the most important thing in my life.”

What could be happier than knowing none among your families or friends opposes your relationship with the person you love? According to Ryan, they are even lucky because they have friends who respect them and even protect them.

We asked them what part of their partner’s face they love? Ryan said it is Judy Ann’s beautiful and expressive eyes that he loves most. As a photographer, it is her eyes that attracted him the first time they had a candle-lit dinner prior to their relationship.

“I like his lips,” a truly in love Judy Ann says, giggling. We ask a followup question if Ryan is a good kisser but the young actress immediately says “yes, yes” even before we can finish the question.

Meanwhile, Juday’s contract with ABS-CBN will expire sometime in July this year and she admitted she has been receiving numerous offers from the Kapuso Network including appearances on Extra Challenge. She will also be on Showbiz Stripped tonight, with Ryan, in the episode titled, “Hahamakin ang Lahat.”

Judy Ann explains that there have been offers to her, like guest appearances and even her own show, but she just could not commit because of her contract with ABS-CBN. However, once her contract expires, she says she will consider the offer from GMA-7. That will, however, depend upon the results of her negotiations with ABS-CBN.

Does this mean there is still 50-50 chance of her renewing a contract with ABS-CBN? “It depends,” she says, “and if you were to ask me, I don’t want a two-year contract anymore. That’s too long. At least if it’s (contract) short, I can accept other projects. Maybe I’ll consider (something on a) per project basis.”

Among her last projects with ABS-CBN is Komiks, in which she starred with real-life boyfriend Ryan in one of its episodes titled “Inday Bote” last week and got a rating of 29.9 percent and the soap opera Sa Piling Mo with Piolo which begins airing next month.

For years the public has been watching every move she makes, every decision she takes. Now that she finally found the happiness she deserves, no one can stop Judy Ann from doing what her heart wants whether that is to stay where she is now, or move to a new environment or just settle down for a more peaceful life with the person who inspires her. She well deserves it.

Anyway, is it true that Juday and Ryan will get married sometime in December this year or early next year?

Tapos hiniritan ba naman si Zanjoe ng kiss (showthread.php?p=354932#) sa lips kanina ng mabalitaan na isa ito sa mga nagbigay ng flowers sa kanya! Tapos ng matapos na ang bigayan ng flowers ay binuhat ba naman sya ng 4 na lalaking nagbigay sa kanya ng flowers at tuwang-tuwa naman ang bakla! Hahaha!</span>:p

Nung nasa confession room na eh ang haba ng buhok ng lola kasi 4 na lalaki ang nakapaligid sa kanya, kasama pa ang Christian Vasquez at Zanjoe Marudo! Binihag ng lola nyo ang puso ng mga Bench models!:p

Pero talagang mamahalin nila si Keana kasi masyado itong totoo at simple di katulad ng ibang housemates na talagang trying hard para magustuhan ng iba na kabaligtaran naman ang lumalabas!
