he didnt make it sa guestings nya ysterday -- mup and pbb in studio 23. tapos nag-joke pa si asia na kinidnap daw muna ni big bro si franzen at dinala sa boracay para kausapin ng masinsinan ...

and then nun pumasok yung teaser ng wazzup2, toni mentioned that she saw franzen earlier that day sa corridor ng abs, and parang still in a daze pa rin daw si franzen habang naglalakad ... mukhang d pa rin daw nakaka-adjust sa outside world.

kahit na i am not for franzen ... i'm a bit worried. dun kasi sa guesting nya sa buzz last sunday, he talked too loosely. if he was not just acting ... parang hindi normal yung pinakita nyang behavior. newbies nor seasoned actors/ comedians do not talk that way pag nage-guest sa talk shows.

something could be wrong. i hope abs/ big bro advise franzen to have a session with a psychiarist. better safe than sorry ...

About ratings I beg to disagree with LDG ... ABS was the one who started it all. During its prime in the 90's if one is a regular reader of newspaper particularly PDI they placed occassionally whole page ratings of their shows...black and white pa noon ang ads and it was during the time majority of local stars are all with ABS. They also show tv ads occasionally... it just so happen na umikot ang gulong so its GMA turn this time.

On Pinoy Ako I agree 99% of Christmas party will use and dance with this song and for sure baka may mga Christmas presentation pa depicting the housemates... well don't think some kapuso would ever admit the popularity the song the way some kapamilya would never admit na bagsak ang ABS as of this time. From time to time it can't be avoided that discussions and clashes of opinions would occur... it just depends how one perceives and takes the opinions of others ;)

Artists stopped from receiving ‘ASAP’ awards

GMA 7 ISSUED A DIRECTIVE TO THEIR contract stars not to appear in last Sunday’s ASAP Platinum Circle Awards aired on ABS-CBN even if the artists were recipients of the award, according to Darling de Jesus, GMA 7’s assistant vice president for Musical Shows.

“Our artists have a contract with GMA 7 that stipulates ... they can’t appear in a competing show,” De Jesus told Inquirer Entertainment in a phone interview. “It’s silly for ABS-CBN to expect our artists to show up on ‘ASAP,’ especially since they are mainstays of our ‘SOP,’ a competing show.”

De Jesus pointed out that this practice was not exclusive to GMA 7, the parent company of INQ7.net.

“For example, [ABS-CBN contract star] Zsa Zsa Padilla could not even give her daughter, [GMA 7 artist] Karylle a birthday greeting on ‘SOP,’” said De Jesus.

Launched last Sunday on ABS-CBN’s “ASAP,” the Platinum Circle Awards was meant to honor the biggest selling local acts and recording artists, regardless of record

label and network affiliations, and to boost the anti-piracy campaign of the Optical Media Board, said Deo Endrinal, ABS-CBN’s vice president for Talk, Variety and Reality Shows.

“It wasn’t a problem that their artists didn’t come,” Endrinal said. “What we didn’t like was, [GMA 7] ordered record executives not to accept the awards [on behalf of the artists]. This was reported to us by the record executives, who said they received a text message to that effect. ”

Endrinal was referring to a text from Hazel Bonita, “SOP” program manager, which was also received by Inquirer Entertainment.

In a phone interview with Inquirer Entertainment, Bonita admitted that she sent the text messages to remind GMA 7 stars of the exclusivity of their contract.

Bonita said she sent the same message to record executives who asked about the network’s position.

The ASAP Platinum Circle Award was given to about 20 recording artists whose albums or singles have sold at least 30,000 copies, the local standard for platinum record sales.

“The awards were based on record sales,” Endrinal said.

GMA 7’s Wilma Galvante, senior vice president for Entertainment, said there was nothing wrong with the award.

“Ayaw lang ng ‘SOP’ magpagamit (‘SOP’ does not want to be used),” she told Inquirer Entertainment in a text message on Tuesday.

Speaking to Inquirer Entertainment later, Galvante said, “Did you think [our artists] would absent [themselves from] ‘SOP’ just to appear on ‘ASAP?’”

Galvante reiterated that “ASAP” was trying to use GMA 7 material to boost ratings.

Artists stopped from receiving ‘ASAP’ awards


“Ayaw lang ng ‘SOP’ magpagamit (‘SOP’ does not want to be used),” she told Inquirer Entertainment in a text message on Tuesday.

hello mga kapamilya.im getting my hopes high that 2006 will really be a good year for abs cbn. ang ganda ng ONLY YOU.i like the chemistry of the two lead actors. kakapanabik yung story. parang gusto ko ng tapusin. parang bumabalik yung days ng pagka aadict ko sa LOVERS IN PARIS. in fairness maganda yung CHRISTMAS SPECIAL nung last saturday. very good performance of the abs stars. at least puro live yung songs and magaling yung choreography, story and dance numbers.ang dami talagang talented stars ng abs hindi nga lang nabibgyan ng break.at least yung mga hindi marunong kumanta nag introduce na lang ng mga susunod na production numbers.i specifically like yung ginawa nina pokwang with the halili ballet dancers and going bulilit kids. kakatuwa.

Ano namang reaksyon niya sa sinasabi ng iba na natapos na at lahat
ang fantaserye niya ay hindi man lang nito nagawang bumongga sa ratings?

"Well, all I can say is, nagkaroon ng night noon na tinalo namin, as in,
lahat ng shows (ng GMA). When we first started, tinalo namin silang lahat, di
ba (mga 2 weeks after ng pilot episode ng KK na first time lumabas ang
karakter ni Anne na maganda, naka-30 plus ito sa ratings at tinalo nito nu'ng
gabing `yon ang katapat na Darna at Encantadia ng Siyete)?

"So, even though it wasn't successful after that, #1 pa rin kami sa
ABS and that's what matters. At saka ang ratings naman, galing lang `yan sa
2,500 boxes in Metro Manila. So, hindi `yan basis ng lahat ng TV sets sa
buong Metro Manila at nationwide, di ba? Pero syempre, importante ngayon sa mga tao ang
ratings-ratings.
