I think ABS-CBN for the past 2 years had been loosing money. Pero according to some kug gagawa lang sila ng asianovela dapat co-production na lang sana with other countries para pupuwedeng pang-export to other Asian countries.

Alam nyo okay lang ang ginagawa ng ABS..wag naman tayo magalit kung gumagawa rin sila ng mga telesrye..hindi naman pwede na palagi na lang koreanseries kasi mawawalan ng trabaho ang mga artista natin at lalakas ang Korean Entrtainment Industry at lulubog naman ang Filipino Entrtainment Industry...tayo ang kawawa pagnagkaganon...

I admit na I watch Korean dramas than Filipino Dramas..its the quality that forces me to watch it..but then I won't criticize or discriminate ABS from making it own dramas...

Well, come to think of it, madami din namang palabas sa TV na nagpapakita ng asal kagaya ng ginawa ni Chx. Siguro, ang kaibahan lang , alam nila na madaming nanonood ng PBB kaya pinagtutuunan nila ng pansin. Siguro, kaya din pinarusahan si Chx at (kanina) pinalabas yung confession nya, admitting she was wrong, to appease MTRCB.

Hmnn... dalawa lang ang ibig sabihin kung may reaction ang CBCP - either may nagsumbong sa kanila (in which case, hearsay ang basis nila for their reaction) OR they are watching PBB!

If they are monitoring these forums, well, they are very much welcome. Basta wala lang sila pakialam sa mga pinopost natin dito as long as we follow the rules of Tsinoy or any other forums.

FYI po sa lahat, more or less, millions of money per series ang budget ng Dos no. But its unfair to say that its bec. of tight budget for a tv series.

With regards naman sa employee relations issues, I believe it was already explained in the broadsheets, maraming "duplicate" departments sa loob. I believe Maria Ressa was quoted saying this. The company is bleeding, kaya kelangan ng appropriate measures... Pero sa series, never po sila nagtipid.

I am not surprised ABS has come up with a rather old Chinovela, in fact I even classify "Amazing Twins" as a costume drama. This network is most hated by Tsinoys that really know their Chinese culture.

We call this attitude they had with Tsinoys as "pai hua". Notice most of the news stories about Tsinoys that they carry are about one of our members of the community being kidnapped. If not, they show the bad side of our activities, like a Chinese businessmen involved in shabu or those other illegal things.

Even on their cable subsidiary Sky Cable, all their good Chinese channels require extra subscription fees, while they usually left the "ancient" Chinese shows from the '70s and '80s on their Basic lineup, and only one half of the live Chinese community views, meaning it had a regular news program on its lineup. They even took away the community's only source of free Chinese entertainment, CETV, to force them to subscribe to the extra pay channels, or be content with the dubbed versions of the programs it airs.

Kung ang akala lang ng mga Pinoy na tuwing Chinese New Year, Tsinoy businessmen are openly supporting ABS-CBN shows, they are wrong. Most of it are just token ones, out of respect for the integrity and the reputation of this network. Ang totoo niyan, most of us Tsinoys are already "irritated" whenever ABS reporters come to our place to interview about Chinese New Year and other Chinese customs.

Good thing this past Mid-Autumn celebration, ABS public affairs shows no longer emphasize much about it. Because what's the use of Filipinos knowing Chinese celebrations if they don't fully understand how these celebrations come about in the first place? At tsaka I strongly believe ABS is now busy with fighting for their economic survival after losses in the first quarter now forced them to work harder to get those advertisers back, and under threat of further personnel cuts, which is now ongoing.

hope u won't get upset by this: in fairness to ABS, i think they greatly consider comments and suggestions of viewers (if u'v noticed they promote "txt/vote and win promo" just for viewers to interact with the program/station). if ur suggestions were not answered, girl (?) ur not d only person in the world to be listened to. are you not happy that ABS give more chances to local talents than buying foreign series? u somehow should appreciate their efforts to alleviate the country's current economic crisis by providing jobs for local talents. in the first place, aren't u a filipino? what u can do instead, is to continue suggesting to ABS, u might be heard later on.

Baka matulad ang ABS-CBN sa GMA na hindi malaman kung saan ilalagay ang timeslot ng series dahil sa masyadong puno ang primetime block nila. Nakapanghihinayang. Nag-e-enjoy kami sa panonood nito halos gabi-gabi. Maliban sa mga weak at tila brainless ang karamihan sa female characters nito, ang gagaling ng mga bata.

Insider - they were first to broadcast (a good 5 minutes before SAKSI). They had a reporter on location at the residence of Lara's Tita in Taguig. Though the reporter was a bit scrambled with her reporting, they were good enough to point out all the details, accurate and with pictures.

They even had a phone-interview, which is good.

Saksi - a bit disappointing. Not only did they came late, they even gave innacurate news:
Vicky Morales - while talking to Lara's tita, she mentioned Precious winning the BEST IN NATIONAL COSTUME AWARD, which I remembered correctly, was a hoax by some pageant fanatic in one of the local pageant sites (Mabuhay)
Vicky Morales - she came off a bit heartless when she mentioned, "nagbilang anghel nga siya!" = that was her reaction upon hearing from Lara's Tita that winning Miss International was one of the wishes of Lara's dad who passed away last may. She obviously was not aware that Lara's dad have passed away and made such uncalled-for comment.

ABS-CBN vs. GMA
It seems ABS-CBN already has video clips of the said pageant, while GMA is still showing clips from Binibining Pilipinas.

Though it is quite ironic that Binibini is from GMA and yet, ABS-CBN has a better coverage. AT TV Patrol, tuesday night, they even have a "bridges on air" wherein President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was on live video, congratulating Miss Lara, also on live video.

Well done, ABS-CBN. As for GMA, keep improving your accuracy level.... whatever that means. I'm just disappointed with your results

that 50s and 40s ratings is still debatable..people i talk to finds stairway yucky, and instead watch the other one in ABS (is it Memories of Bali?)
the second rewind of fh can't even beat MG's 3rd rewind, which mostly leads over it by more than half in the ratings game..that can explain why they did the rewind of MG, they only advertised its rewind for about 4 days before the show, and, then what? they've got no problem beating every show matched to it..its high ratings even prompt ABS to move it to primetime...it even outdo 24 oras..

but let's see what ABS will do..they have acquired lots of asianovelas..i wonder how the heck can they squeeze it in their primetime slot? even if it's true that KK and Ikaw ang LAhat will end, PAnday and Gulong ng Palad is coming..

INSIDER vs. SAKSI
Insider - they were first to broadcast (a good 5 minutes before SAKSI). They had a reporter on location at the residence of Lara's Tita in Taguig. Though the reporter was a bit scrambled with her reporting, they were good enough to point out all the details, accurate and with pictures.

They even had a phone-interview, which is good.

Saksi - a bit disappointing. Not only did they came late, they even gave innacurate news:
Vicky Morales - while talking to Lara's tita, she mentioned Precious winning the BEST IN NATIONAL COSTUME AWARD, which I remembered correctly, was a hoax by some pageant fanatic in one of the local pageant sites (Mabuhay)
Vicky Morales - she came off a bit heartless when she mentioned, "nagbilang anghel nga siya!" = that was her reaction upon hearing from Lara's Tita that winning Miss International was one of the wishes of Lara's dad who passed away last may. She obviously was not aware that Lara's dad have passed away and made such uncalled-for comment.

ABS-CBN vs. GMA
It seems ABS-CBN already has video clips of the said pageant, while GMA is still showing clips from Binibining Pilipinas.

Though it is quite ironic that Binibini is from GMA and yet, ABS-CBN has a better coverage. AT TV Patrol, tuesday night, they even have a "bridges on air" wherein President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was on live video, congratulating Miss Lara, also on live video.

Well done, ABS-CBN. As for GMA, keep improving your accuracy level.... whatever that means. I'm just disappointed with your results

Dude, most Chinese channels are bidded. If you have knowledge in the cable industry, you should have known this. I am from the SkyCable so I know this. And by the way, we have competitive Chinese channels, though included in the premium subscription. This is business, we mean business, we need to do this. so i also dont think anti-singkit ang lopezes ... i think they are just trying to "Filipinize" their primetime. but right now ... its to their disadvantage. and i think sooner than later maglalagay uli sila ng kdrama on primetime.

really excited 4 panday. but i'll be disappointed if sa primetime nila ilagay ang gulong ng palad coz m pretty sure this would be another setback 4 abs. sana kdrama na lang ang ilagay nila sa primetime slot. gulong should really be an afternoon drama ... at least there's a chance that it will rate in that slot.

according to soompi forums, princess lulu is not that hot drama series and is not rating very well in korea. in fact, lead actress (the girl in 'lovers in paris') threatened not to complete the series because of poor writing and crass commercialism. abscbn execs should angle for the new rain tv drama series slated for november showing on kbs and the currently shown jang nara and ryu shi won drama. it's about time they get the real good ones not the 'tira-tira' of gma7. gma7 got the real good ones even 'kim sam soon', 'daejanggum' etc. they should spend! they're not in very good strong position ratings wise so they have to think of what the audience wants. as far as we are concerned they can do away with ialsa and mga anghel na walang langit. i don't know the antics of john lloyd cruz and claudine baretto irritates my family and i no end.

according to soompi forums, princess lulu is not that hot drama series and is not rating very well in korea. in fact, lead actress (the girl in 'lovers in paris') threatened not to complete the series because of poor writing and crass commercialism. abscbn execs should angle for the new rain tv drama series slated for november showing on kbs and the currently shown jang nara and ryu shi won drama. it's about time they get the real good ones not the 'tira-tira' of gma7. gma7 got the real good ones even 'kim sam soon', 'daejanggum' etc. they should spend! they're not in very good strong position ratings wise so they have to think of what the audience wants. as far as we are concerned they can do away with ialsa and mga anghel na walang langit. i don't know the antics of john lloyd cruz and claudine baretto irritates my family and i no end.

ANG ABS-CBN 2 ang gagawa ng TV version ng Dyesebel. Pumayag na ang Viva na ibigay ang rights sa Dos kaya lang, magiging co-producer ang kanilang kompanya. Si Anne Curtis na bida ngayon sa Kampanerang Kuba at contract star din ng Viva ang napiling gumanap bilang Dyesebel.

Ibig sabihin, pagkatapos ni Anne na maging kuba magta-transform naman siya sa pagiging isang sirena at lalangoy sa karagatan. i have to disagree w/ this one among the dramas that will be shown here i think it's WL who has the better chance in ratings. it has everything kasi in it drama, comedy, family, etc. na sa tingin ko love panoorin ng mga filipino.

yes, kim sam soon is very popular in korea pero we have to realize that filipinos are more emotional people than koreans di ba?

i'm quite happy that 'pinoy big brother' is doing well in the ratings game. it goes to show that the filipino audience wants something new not just an overdose of teleseries(specialty of charo santos-concio). tv has to reinvent itself, witness the success of amazing race, survivor, fear factor, extra challenge. even the foreign shows like veronica mars, csi miami-lasvegas-ny, joan of arcadia, desperate housewives offers something edgy, exciting and new not your run of the mill soaps and sitcoms. in the case of korean telenovelas, they're very well made, focused, funny and more importanly short (interest is sustained ) . korean films and dramas are making big strides and won awards in cannes and venice film festivals.
pinoy big brother should do well after all the hype,promotions etc. given by abscbn.

i totally agree na maganda ang big brother, pero di naman pwde na yun lang ang nagdadala sa abs dibah?? panu yung mga ibang shows nila??? dapat ayusin na nila...nakakasawa na yung line ng drama ng abs eh...sa una maganda..tapos pag tumgal na napapabayaan na...dapat gawa din sila ng medyo light drama lang....eh magsisimula na naman sila ng gulong ng palad eh...feeling ko di mag cliclick yun...kasi dibah mahilig ang mga pinoy ngayun sa light drama lang...di na uso yung mga heavy drama na super complicated yun story....

kasi although we are considered as an Asian country minsan iba rin ang taste ng mga viewers yung patok sa ibang bansa minsan hindi masyadong click sa atin.

:o o kaya minsan nauunahan na ng mga importer / pirated ang palabas sa t.v.yung iba pumunta lang sa Quiapo o Divisoria marami ng videos ng mga series, so hindi na nila pinapanood sa t.v.

According to Pete, Brigette’s husband, PBB is risqué, exciting and explosive. He, too, is hooked. He says he likes Cass, who resembles Brigette a little bit.

In one of the episodes last week, people saw new housemate Sam kissing Chyx (or was it the other way around?) and in another episode some people were scandalized with the skimpy clothing some housemates wore. "No big deal," Pete exclaimed. "There was nothing lewd I saw on PBB. What I saw, I see on TV everyday so what’s the fuss?"

But according to MTRCB, this crossed the line of the Parental Guidance Classification. The program did not heed the warning of the MTRCB for it to lessen the sexually suggestive language and sexy outfits of the housemates. And because of this, Pinoy Big Brother was suspended for one day.

Why is Pinoy Big Brother so controversial? Aren’t we ready for a program like this?

The show is not scripted. The behavior of the housemates that we see is real. There is no manipulation. Nobody tells them to do what we see on screen. Some are proper, some are not. In PBB, we watch the reality – that offends, that irritates, that teases, that reminds us of what is proper and what is improper. Essentially we are watching people familiar to us. And some of us have a hard time dealing with this.

There are a lot of uglier things we see on TV. Senseless political debates are more offensive. Physical and emotional brutalities that fill the news are even more shocking. But we say they’re ok because these are reported as news and they really happen. "But isn’t this distorted reasoning?", Pete asked.

PBB is an experiment. This is how it looks to us. It creates a world that is bare and simple. No cellular phones, no newspapers, no TV. PBB has no connection to the outside world for 100 days. This was life as we knew it. The housemates are themselves – armed with nothing but their basic needs, their hearts and minds, their character.

Expectedly, they will like and dislike each other. What shocks us are actually the expected because they affirm our own weaknesses and misgivings about ourselves given the same situation.

But isn’t this a wonderful opportunity for us viewers to remind us all of how we behave given our primordial instincts to rule?

The show is a strange but honest mirror for all of us. It reflects the ugly and the beautiful in all of us.

Talk to yourself about what you see. You can become a better person. If you can see that this Jason who is married flirts with another housemate, then say – hey it’s wrong – I should not do it. And let the Jason in you see that it is unfair to your wife who waits for you at home thinking that you are loyal just as she is loyal to you.

What is happening inside the PBB house is happening elsewhere. It can be your own home. Are you worried about the truth? Or are you screaming foul about PBB because we are terrified by our own demons? To me, life is all about being open.

Yes, not everything that is true is good. Some truths destroy. But there’s nothing more destructive than evading it, as if it doesn’t exist. Whether that reflection in the mirror is beautiful or monstrous, that reflection is you and I.
