Group Shinhwa member Kim Dongwan has been casted for the lead role in the KBS 2 weekly weekend drama, "Finding Treasure." With the first episode airing on June 11th, he took on the role of JungWoo.

JungWoo is a 27 year-old graduate student with a Business degree who hopes to take over a business like his grandfather. All the while, he falls in love with a wealthy woman who graduated from a prestigous university Suh Young now working as a mystery shopper to help him fulfill his dream.

As marrying Suh Young becomes difficult, he finds out his grandfather is actually his real father and the man he thought to be his father is actually his older brother enduring great shock however in the end he forgives his bilogical mother and with his siblings succeeds in running a business.

The director of "Finding Treasure," Mun BoHyun says, "Although Kim Dongwan started off as a singer he has great passion for acting and has enough capability to be considered a true "actor."

Kim Dongwan has already proven his acting ability through the 2002 drama "Heaven's Children" in which he took on the role of HoTae as well as his last movie "Spin Kick" and the MBC special "Best Theatre."

Group Shinhwa member and star of movie <Spin Kick> Kim Dongwan has been chosen as the ambassador for the 2005 Jeon Ju International Film Festival.

The executive commisioner of the Jeon Ju International Film Festival stated, "Up till now the Jeon Ju International Film Festival has chosen actors with limitless potential as the promotional ambassador. They have now become actors that lead the way in Korean movies. Kim Dongwan also has made a strong impression on us with his stable acting skills shown in <Spin Kick> and special passion for acting." as the reason for their choice.

Thus, Kim Dongwan will recieve the ambassador certificate on the 28th and begin official activities. In celebration of this, Kim Dongwan's feature movie, <Spin Kick> will be screened in the 'outdoor screening' section of the 2005 Jeon Ju International Film Festival.

This year makes the 6th time the Jeon Ju International Film Festival has been held and will be held from the 28th of April to the 6th of May.

Decision to delay for music and acting activities



Popular group Shinhwa's Kim Dongwan has recieved the warrant for army enlistment for May.

Kim Dongwan who is a subject for the welfare service section of the army, recently recieved the date for enlistment from the Military Service Bureau. Kim Dongwan was notified that he would be conscripted for the 16th of May at the Kyungki Yangju Songchu 30th army division for a 4 week recruit training from which afterwards he would give military service at Songdongku.

However Kim Dongwan has decided to delay the enlistment date.

Shinhwa's management (Good Entertainment) announced, "Kim Dongwan is currently attending Kukmin University post graduate school, currently finished Shinhwa 7th album activites and is concentrating on acting activities so we applied for a delay to the Military Service Bureau."

Kim Dongwan who finished Shinhwa 7th album activities late last year is now busy with acting activities.

Group Shinhwa member Junjin revealed at the m.net 'Let's CokePLAY: BATTLE SHINHWA' opening show, which took place on the 20th at 9:30 p.m at 88 gymnasium, his comment after watching the movie, "SpinKick."

That day, they were talking about Dongwan who became the ambassador for the 6th Junju Movie Festival, when Junjin revealed that, "All the members saw the movie 'SpinKick.'Especially during the scene, where Dongwan, who was in tears, was pleading to the coach for permission to participate in the competition, the members cried."

Kim Dongwan, who became embarassed after hearing Junjin's comment, imitated the scene mentioned by Hyesung who joked, "While watching the comical scene, where he lied on the gymnasium floor waving his arms and legs frantically, everyone cried."

Kim Dongwan's debut movie, "SpinKick" which revolves around a Tae KwonDo school and is targeted towards the younger generation, has been put on screen again at the Movie Festival, receiving recognition as a decent movie from many manias.

Filming for KBS drama, "Finding Treasure" will begin during the first week of May, which is his last activity since MBC drama, "Beating Heart." What was recorded this day will be revealed on the 29th at 6:30 p.m, on the music channel M.net.

ah, meron pala...actually na-feature si Kim Dong-wan sa Showbiz Extra 2 weeks ago. he starred in a music video for the new song of SG Wannabe titled Partner for Life...medyo tragic yung plot ng mv...

another one is Dong-wan replaced Kim Jong-kook in one of the segments of Happy Sunday (KBS Variety Show)...yung tungkol sa mga little boys that were playing soccer (sorry I forgot the title)...anyway, he replaced Kim Jong-kook as coach for the little boys since the latter started his military service

Kim Dongwan Falls Off Stage and Dislocates Shoulder

Shinhwa's Kim Dongwan has fallen off the stage during a Busan concert and dislocated his right shoulder.

On the 15th at 7pm at the SHINHWA, 2006 STATE OF THE ART in Busan concert during a solo stage performance of 'To You', Kim Dongwan fell down from the stage and received an injury to his right shoulder.

While singing 'To You' Kim Dongwan walked out to the 'T' structured part of the main stage where he fell and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. While Kim Dongwan was away getting treatment, Shinhwa had no choice but to continue performing 'Eusha Eusha', DJ DOC's 'Summer Story' and 'Only One' where Lee Minwoo and Jun Jin took turns in singing Kim Dongwan's parts. The fans cheered in hope and support of Kim Dongwans quick recovery by chanting "We love you Kim Dongwan!".

Despite strong restraint from staff and the members, eventually Kim Dongwan got a simple sling for his shoulder and went back on stage to sing Shinhwa's new Japanese single and received a great cheer from the fans.

Kim Dongwan before singing 'Sun in Our Hearts' with Shinhwa said, "Since its been such a long time since we've performed in Korea I was so excited but to have such an unexpected thing to happen I'm really upset and sorry to all you fans" and "but I will do my best and perform right till the end. Please watch over me." To this the fans began to chant 'Kim Dongwan!' and eventually Kim Dongwan shed tears.

Shinhwa's management Good EMG revealed, "Because his own will to get back on stage was so strong we told him to at least get a sling and go on stage but since he has not received a proper treatment and diagnosis of the injury, as soon as the concert finishes, he will be going back to hospital for a proper diagnosis."

This days concert is Shinhwa's 3rd concert of their Asia tour to celebrate their 8 years as Shinhwa. After this concert, Shinhwa will conclude all Korean activities in late July and depart for Japan for promotional activities of their first official album to be released in Japan in mid-August.

lately there are lots of report on Shinhwa on what i have say
from all the interviews i had accepted
Shinhwa is not me alone

today appear a serious misreport
no matter how i feel i should clear the misunderstanding

in Sport Hankook report
on the section about SHinhwa last album
i say we will release shinhwa last album before we enter the army
as it will be hard for us to meet up once we enter the army

after the interview, i ask the reporter not to write anything on shinhwa
as it iwll only lead to the topic on them going to the army

was it to make the news more interesting?
the article on army topic and if shinhwa will still release albums
today's article is not a misunderstanding but a misreport
when i ask for the actual report to be publish, they told me the reporter has gone oversea for an assignment

Kim Dongwan expressed before his enlistment he will focus on his singer activities

On 19th Nov aftenoon 4pm in Dongwan's birthday party cum solo fan meeting, he talked about his planning before the enlistment.

Kim Dongwan at the end of the party expressed, "I will enlist as a public welfare service staff. Before my enlistment i would only want to focus on my singing career." Although there is no certain of his enlistment date, but hinting the fans that he will soon be enlisting.

2007 May, Dongwan had received information and notice of enlistment letter, he will be enlisting at the end of summer or during the autumn period.

Jang Woo Hyuk, Kim Jong Min, Kim Tae Woo and so on artist/actor had enlisted, GongYu, Eric, Minwoo too will be facing the enlisting fact.

On afternoon 4pm on November 18th in KwangYun University hold Kim Dongwan 29th birthday party cum first solo fan meeting. KimDongWan expresses his repay to his fans of the gratefulness through this day.

Kim Dongwan buddy PHRYME was the MC of the fanmeeting, there were lots of activities going on thus had made the fans went back filled with happiness. Although within the SHINHWA member only JunJin appeard in the fanmeeting, JunJin perform 2 songs to congratulate dongwan's birthday and to cover over for the members who didnt came.

Kim Dongwan's birthday party gotten the Hanryu related press and China, Japanese fans to participate. KimDongWan in the fanmeeting even present out his self spokeman of product DEATS to the fans, made the fans felt warm and cozy in heart.

Addition, Dongwan even perform his solo debut song title "Handkerchief" to the fans to repay everything they had done for him.

As solo member out of the group, Kim Dongwan due to laryngitis he received treatment from the hospital (appointment visit)

After Kim Dongwan had hold his first birthday fan meeting on the 18th Nov, his body has been feeling tired thus had caught cold, at the same week he got sore throat, so he decided to accept treatment from the hospital.

Kim Dongwan on the 1st & 2nd December in Seoul Gymnastic Stadium '7DAYZ & WANTED' performance, he mention about his throat pain.

According to Kim Dongwan's management company, due to the weather changes after last month's fan meeting, Dongwan caught cold and sore throat, he is currently under recovery.

It was warm at today's concert.
It wasn't hot, but we felt the power of the fans after a really long time, so all the members felt the warmth of that.

Although I practised and rehearsed very hard, I still felt uncomfortable during the concert -_-;
I forgot there were no solo stages at this concert, so I couldn't go to the washroom, uncomfortable. -__-;
Even so I was still very happy~! ^_^

Whatever it is!
Nagoya's children are so adorable~!

[07.12.09] [Diary] Dongwan - Today...

It's really serious today.
I feel terrible because I had insomnia last night..
I can't sleep when I'm not at home.. I hate hotels.. -_-
But thanks to everyone I was really happy at the concert.
Hope to count on everyone for their support tomorrow too!

Shinhwa's Kim Dongwan holds his first solo fan meeting in Japan since his debut 10 years ago.

Kim Dongwan met up with more than 2,000 fans in Japan during the fanm eeting on 11 Dec. He performed Liar with Eric in a mini concert, and also sang songs from Sakura, an album from Japanese group Kobukuro. In addition, behind-the-scenes videos were shown, and there was also a Q&A session with the fans. There was also a gift presentation.

Dongwan's management company H2 Entertainment said on Dec 12, "Kim Dongwan has held his first solo fan meeting in Japan, and he has put in a lot of effort into planning for this. Luckily, his efforts translated into a good performance for the Japanese fans, and the fan meeting was very successful."
