Good evening, my dear sisters and brothers!
Let me share a bit of moments that I was so amazed today...

As my daughter enjoys listening to the radio English program every evening,
I can hear some of it while I cook in my kitchen.
-The program is the course for beginners such as junior high school students.
It has music and chants...lots of fun!

This evening, I was cooking and she was listening to it as usual...
and then, I couldn't believe my ears....
There came our 'Yong Joon's name' from the radio!!

Of course, I stoped cooking
and froze....

They were picking up a phrase from the day's dialogue
and letting the listeners practice it with a few examples.
One of today's point was;

'a chance of a lifetime'

You're going to practice this phrase after the regular guest says the first line.
And Joonie's name came in the task like this;

Emily: I can eat dinner with Bae Yong Joon.
He plays the hero in the Winter Sonata.

You(Learner): That's a chance of a lifetime!

Isn't this nice and so cute?
You may imagine how fast my heart was beating then.

In such English programs, for a long time, the hero must have been somebody
in English speaking countries, for this is an English program!
Hero used to be somebody like...Kevin Kostner....
....Kevin Kostner, oops, I used to adore him in 'Bodyguard'. ^^
Somebody like, Brad Pitt, Britney Spears, Madonna, Princess Diana, well, Superman, Spiderman, whatever, whatever....

So, this means how popular our Yong Joon is in this country by now!
I was so proud and really wanted to share it with you sis & bros.

At a live concert in Seoul, the staff is busy backstage preparing for the show. In-su is the lighting director for the concert and is busy working, but he suddenly gets a phone call, and passes his work over to his friend and rushes off. He is in a big hurry and speeds down the highway. He is in such a frantic rush that even though the speeding meter catches him on camera as he zooms by, he is unfazed. He is headed for the emergency room of Samcheok hospital, in the east coast of Korea. The fact is that he was informed that his wife, Su-jin, was injured in a car accident on a snowed over road and is in critical condition. Her car crashed into another. When he reaches the hospital, he is surprised to find out that Kyung-ho, who was the driver of the car his wife was in, is in the emergency room too. Kyung-ho and Su-jin were supposedly on a business trip. At the hospital, he happens to meet Seo-young, Kyung-ho's wife, for the first time. Being faced with the critical life and death situation of their spouses Seo-young and In-su share sympathy for each other.

As the police conduct their investigation of the accident, it turns out that the Kyung-ho and Su-jin had been lovers. And this trip actually had nothing to do with business. In-su and Seo-young are overcome with absolute shock. They can't admit the horrible reality that they've been in love with people who've been in love with someone else. The harshness of this realization causes them more pain than that which resulted from the accident itself.

Sharing the hard emotional times together, In-su and Seo-young start to become closer. They meet often while visiting the hospital, in places like the intensive care unit's waiting room and the cafeteria, and they slowly discover how much they have in common. Eventually, as fate would have it, they fall for each other. They begin to take more and more comfort in been together. But they are torn between feelings of guilt and happiness about having found each other. One day Seo-young asks ¡°How is it that we are thrown into such trouble and pain, while they were so happy with each other without us knowing?¡± In-su is at a loss of words.

As they grow increasing and naturally closer to each other, while struggling with feelings of guilt, Su-jin one day gains consciousness. In-su seeing her crying, and finds it hard to hate her for what she did. Knowing that Su-jin is back in In-su's life, Seo-young tries to her best to detach herself from him. But the more she tries to stay away, she finds herself more and more attracted to him. They decide to get away on a trip together, where they share extreme happiness being alone together, but during their get away, Kyung-ho dies in the hospital. The pain and guilt Seo-young feels for not having seen her husband before he dies pushes her to forget about In-su, and they end their relationship. In-su then decides to care for his recovering wife, giving her all his attention, and when she finally gets well, he tells her about everything.

It's spring, April. A concert at an open stage is going on and suddenly it begins to snow. The audience goes wild to see that it's snowing. In-su is reminded of the previous winter. At the same time, somewhere else, Seo-young is also reminiscing while watching the snow slowly fall. In-su is driving to Samcheok, while Seo-young is on her way there too. The two of them are smiling with looks of anticipation to relive the happiness they thought they had one day lost for good.

What is the film's plot?
In-su, a successful lighting director, suddenly receives an urgent phone call while working at a concert, and rushes off. What element of love do you want to reveal in <April Snow>? And is it an extreme?

His own beloved wife becomes the object of his feelings of hatred, disgust, and desires of committing murder, but as fate would have it, he is thrown into an ironic mirrored situation as he winds up falling in love with the wife of the man his own wife was having an affair with. And soon he is the one to fall victim to uncontrollable feelings of love and bitterness.

Why did you choose Samcheok, on the east coast of Korea, for the setting of the film?
I screened most of the major hospitals in the country that would be right for the film. And Samcheok hospital turned out to be the best choice because there is a motel located right in front of the hospital that is there for families and loved ones to stay while visiting long- term patients. Also, there is a beautiful pavilion, a very old cafe that was built in the traditional Japanese style near the hospital, and the street itself was perfect for the romantic, emotionally inspiring setting of the film.

You're known as a director who improvises, making sudden decisions in the moment based on what you feel or may be inspiring you that day. But this film is going to be shot with more of an established or set continuity, right?
I will work both ways. For this movie, I want to depict the characters in a way that is deeper than I may be able to observe, which places particular importance on how delicate the camera work is. The camera should move flowingly, and the cuts need to be clearly divided. To achieve this, pre-production planning is a must. The difference with this film is that, while my previous works were shot with the natural flow of the character's emotions as the focal point, in <April Snow> the characters go through many sudden shifts and changes of emotions, such from violent passion to cold disassociation.

You decided to cast BAE Yong-joon for In-su. Was your decision based on following his work, or was there a special reason you chose him for the part?

I went to the shooting of <Untold Scandal> and introduced myself and watched him work. I found that his acting style had a quality of being able to produce various extremes of character. He's emotionally strong and on the other hand very soft. At times the two extreme emotions clash and it produces a very interesting energy. In-su in the film is a lighting director. He's in charge of controlling lighting, and when doing so, there is wildness to his working style. But on the other hand, when he's working quietly in the control room, there is loneliness about him. Also, when he is working, for example on a huge set, his talent is raw, relying solely on the lights and his own abilities. But at the same time, he's very sensitive to all qualities of light. So, for example, when a light in a living room is about to die, he instinctually notices it right away. Considering the significance of the subtleties that are involved with character's profession as a lighting director, BAE is very qualified to produce the various extreme emotions needed for the role.


What are your thoughts about SON Ye-jin playing Seo-young?

At first, I felt as though SON was a little young to play the role of a married woman. But when I met her in person, I was surprised to see how mature and intelligent she was for her age. And she has made her talents as an actress known by being able to see the film, not only from the point of view of her character, but also from that of the director. It's a great ability to be able to know how to read between the lines of the script. The character Seo-young is a housewife, who has been married for a year, and SON perfectly fits the image of the young wife. It's amazing. (end)

Korean Wave Star BYJ transforms himself to a man who builds a house for a woman he loves.

BYJ, who has worked as an exclusive model for a contruction company Kyungnam since last September, played a confident presenter who introduced 'Kyungnam Honorsville' to housewife-interviewers in the first CF. It will be followed by the 2nd CF, scheduled to air in early March, in which he will play a stylish and caring architect.

In this TV CF, BYJ takes out a sketchbook from his bag and starts sketching on a yacht floating in front of the Opera House in Sydney, with a sweet background narration of "Why do I build a house? I am destined to be loved by a woman and love her. I want to build a good house for her" .

This commercial drew interest because of its big scale which befits its star model. In the local filming started from 12th, they operated two most luxurious yachts and foreign models and tens of local staffs participated in the production. For shooting in downtown, they rented a double-deck bus and obtained police cooperation for traffic control.

The shooting continued from early 4am till 6 pm for 2 days. It is said that despite the arduous schedule, BYJ kept the atmosphere around the set friendly with his cheerful attitude throughout the shooting, thus helping others to forget about their hard work. Yoon Heungshik, director of promotion at Kyungnam company who accompanied the shooting, said about the local atmosphere "I saw a new hard working side of the big star."

BYJ's next movie "Outing", which is widely talked about throughout Asia as well as Korea and Japan, is attracting high bids from Japanese movie companies.

According to director Sohn Minkyung at the investment/distribution company Show East, which is in charge of overseas marketing of this movie, 'Outing' will conclude a contract within this week with a Japanese company on local distribution rights .

It will be officially announced when the contract is concluded, but Show East will not reveal exact price or sales terms because the competition for purchase of 'Outing' became overheated among Japanese movie companies.

They are working on details now but it is certain that the sales price will exceed 5 million dollars, the minimum guarantee for "Duelist'. Director Sohn told Yonhap News that they wouldn't announce the sales price but it would certainly be the highest in record.

Screen Daily International, a movie magazine, also reported, "'Duelist' was sold at the highest price at Berlin, but it pales next to 'Outing'(English title April Snow). This movie is drawing great interests, receiving purchase offers from 7 Japanese companies. It is rumoured that its minimum guarantee will be over 7 million dollars."

At the recent European Film Market(EFM), 'Outing' also drew explosive interests from buyers and foreign press. Director Sohn explained, "I almost got a nervous breakdown because of endless inquires about sales or prices coming from Japanese import companies and even movie magazines like Screen Daily and Variety."

'Outing', which started shooting at Samchuk of Kangwon province this month, is a melodrama in which a man and a woman facing terrible reality fall in sad and dangerous love with each other. It is expected to keep up the fever of theKorean Wave and the boom for pure love stories in Japan.

TV drama 'Hotelier' will be aired in Quatar

TV drama 'Hotelier' with BYJ & Song Yoona as leading actors began airing on channel 2 of National Broadcasting Station of Quartar from past 17th.

The Department of Diplomacy & Trade told on the 19th that the National Broadcasting Station of Quartar planned to air this drama on every Thursday at 5:40 PM & it is scheduled for total of 20 episodes until coming June 30th.

This is the first time a TV drama of our nation is aired in Middle Eastern Region except for Egypt.

Official at the Department of Diplomacy told, "we expect that airing of 'Hotelier' in the Middle Eastern Region will be helpful for activation of broadcasting and cultural exchange between our nation and Middle Eastern region as well as informing our culture to this region at the same time." BYJ arrived at Samchuk on the afternoon of the 21th and resumes shooting movie 'Outing' from the 22nd.

He stayed in Seoul, taking same rest and taking care of personal business after he came back on the 14th from Australia after finishing filming a CF for Kyungnam company.

The reason that he took a week off was that the second shooting session starting from the 22nd is a long one. It is planned to be over by the 28th but this second filming session will be a lot more intense and speedy to finish filming by the end of May.

They will start with shooting scenes at the intensive care unit on the 22nd, where all the actors including Sohn Yejin, Ryu Seungsoo and Im Sanghyo as well as BYJ will all appear. Ryu Seungsoo and Im Sanghyo stay lying down in a coma in the intensive care unit, but BYJ and SYJ will have lots of dialogues.

As director Huh Jinho prefers to describe characters' psychology as the time flows, shooting proceeds in the order of the time in the movie. Accordingly they will film not only at Jooksuhroo, the motel and the coffee shop, but around the separately built set at the medical center at night. The hospital set, including the intensive care unit, an emergency room, a waiting room, an information booth, will go through detailed changes as the time in the movie passes.

It has been decided that movie 'Outing' will be released abroad with the title 'April Snow". The movie 'Outing' starring BYJ and Son Yejin (directed by Huh Jinho and produced by Blue Storm) will have an English title of 'April Snow' and a Japanese title of '四月の雪'(April Snow).

Blue Storm, the production company, which confirmed the English title 'April Snow' from the beginning, has been agonizing over its Japanese title and recently decided on '四月の雪', which is the direct translation of 'April Snow' in Japanese.

An official from Blue Storm relayed that English title 'April Snow', which has a totally different meaning from its Korean title 'Outing', was one of many Korean titles that director Huh has had in mind from the start.

The idea came from the scene where Suhyoung (SYJ) in the movie answered, "I like spring, but I also like snow in the winter, so I wish it snowed in the spring." when asked by Insoo(BYJ) which season was her favorite.

Blue Storm revealed that director Huh went over many titles including 'April Snow' before he decided on the Korean title 'Outing', and used 'April Snow' as its English title as he kept it in mind.

A source at Blue Storm said, "The movie will have director Huh's trade-mark calm and lyrical feeling. They also chose English and Japanese titles that can uphold such feeling."

Director Huh also used metaphoric and lyrical 'Christmas in August' as the title of his previous movie starring Hah Sukgyoo and Shim Eunha.

On a different note, as movie 'Outing' plans to open the set to domestic and foreign press around the end of March in an unprecented scale, the production company is currently working hard on how to proceed the event.

An Arabian fan who was moved by the 'WLS' has sent a lengthy letter to Korea.

Since Egyptian National Broadcasting station ERTU aired KBS drama 'WLS' starring BYJ & Choi Jiwoo in the last January, arabian fans have shown consistent responses via mails and Arabian hoomepage of the 'WLS', and in the end of the last February, an Egyptian fan named 'Sami Hussein Ahmad' sent a lengthy letter to International Broadcasting Station of KBS.

This fans sent total of 3 letters one each to president of KBS, BYJ, & Choi Jiwoo , and Kim Jaehee PD, in charge of Arabian Broadcasting, translated and made it public on the 2nd.

And "as the drama was made a long time ago, Ms. (Choi) Jiwoo may have children and be married," and "I would like exchange friendship even by letters like this", sending anxious heart. Mr. Ahmad introduced himself as a 39 years old young man who 'loves all the beautiful things and long for everlasting romance'.

Korean Current stars BYJ & Chae Rim are running 'the first place for the most favorite Korean male and female actors, respectively'.

In a vote, 'the most favorite Korea stars' held by Hong Kong's ground wave ATV, BYJ took 17,570(42%) votes among total votes of 40, 446 , running in the first place taking up Song seungheon who got 16,675 votes(41%) with a narrow margin.

On the voting for favorite actresses, Chae Rim recieved 61,673 (41%) votes among total of 149,422 votes, keeping an indisputable first place, increasing margin by about 20,000 votesfrom Choi Jiwoo. Among male candidates, it is entering into competing structure for first & second place among BYJ & Song Sseungheon to teh extent that it is a fighting between 'WLS' and 'Fall Fables',and although Lee Byeong heon and Jang Dong deon are listed in 3rd & 4th places respectively, they have received only 65(2,401 votes) and 5%(2,094 votes).

A big-scale outdoor concert scene in 'Outing', which is the climax of the movie that has been hidden in a veil of mystery, will be filmed at the real concert scene. It will be sensational as this is the first attempt in the Korean movie history.

The production team of 'Outing' will produce the concert scene at Seoul outdoor concert hall with top singers and 8,000 audience on April 24th.

They paid a lot of attention to this large scale outdoor concert scene even before the start, because they had to book good singers and mobilize a large number of extras and find a shootable outdoor concert place.

The production team of 'Outing' said that this way they could film the vivid scene of the big outdoor concert, and that they would offer to the concert audience an experience to participate as extras in the movie, in addition to viewing the concert with top singers.

The big outdoor concert was also titled as 'Outing' like the name of the movie. It is interesting that the concert and the movie proceed under the same title.

This big scale outdoor concert scene belongs to the latter half of the movie, in which Insoo(BYJ), a lighting director for the concert, reminesces about Suhyoung(Sohn Yejin), who he fell in the most passionate love of his life with in the winter a few years ago. It will be the climax of 'Outing'.

They are at the final stage of booking singers who will participate in the concert 'Outing' and all profit from the concert will be donated for charity fund for poor neighbors.

Kim Yoonna, brand manager for the Ionaide told, "for people nowadays who have busy lives, they need more aggressive balance in body for healthy and active lives," and "the Ionaide comes out one step further from previous ion drinks which supplmented only water and ions, and uses L-Carnitine ingredient which controls excessive fat and caloric intake"

Accident

On live concert hall, lighting director, In-su (BAE Yong-joon) leaves the hall in a hurry putting the concert in
charge of his junior worker. Then in a hallway at a hospital operation room in Samcheok, Kangwon-do,
he meets Seo-young (SON Ye-jin). The reason he went there is a car accident of his wife, Su-jin (LIM Sang-hyo).
Also, Seo-young¡¯s husband, Kyung-ho (RYU Seung-su), was in the car with her.

Betrayal

While Su-jin and Kyung-ho are in unconsciousness by serious injury, In-su and Seo-young realize that Su-jin
and Kyung-ho are in ¡®special relationship¡¯ on settling the accident. For In-su and Seo-young, it is harder to
accept than the fatal accident. Love becomes confusion, anger, and betrayal. While they pray for their spouses¡¯
peaceful recovery even though they blame for it, the two people fell each other¡¯s existence slowly.

Chaos

In a motel in front of the hospital, the two people start long term stay and meet each other again and again.
Eventually, they fall in love spending their time together. Even they were confused by their spouses¡¯ betrayal,
now they experience the same pain their spouses did as they fall into the same situation.
At this time, Su-jin comes back to consciousness. In-su cannot look away from his wife shedding tears.
While looking at In-su, Seo-young realizes that it is time to go back to their own places.
Then, they prepare for going out, which might be the last time, only for the two.

An Enormous Set Prepared for Samcheok

The director HUR Jin-ho. He even wants to put air flow an actor will feel into a movie.
Excluding artificial feeling to the maximum in an actual place, he established his unique style to
describe people who most likely would be there, and even is not exceptional.
The production team of . They travel hospitals and cities all over the country to find ¡®a
strange city which really exists¡¯. At the end of the trip, they met Samcheok, and it was like an enormous
set built just for the movie, . An old hospital with complex structure having strange atmosphere
apart from reality even though it is the most real space the characters encounter their despairing reality.
A small motel next to the hospital just like in the movie. Then, there are Jookseoroo, one of 8 great
Eastern sceneries, and an old cafeteria without column when you walk past the motel.
Also, everything the director HUR Jin-ho wanted in , including even solitude radiating from
calm streets, was already prepared in Samcheok.
Under aggressive cooperation from Samcheok city, is under production,
and the location for the movie will be made as ¡®Special Complex for Tourists.¡¯


The Very First Project, A Meeting of Real Performance and Film

The climax of is the outdoor concert scene. While preparing, the production team
accidentally met large size outdoor concert planned by M&F, a movie score specialty production,
and had a chance for a new plan. It was shooting a film in a place having an actual concert.
It is the very first try of Korean movie, and also, it is meaningful for both the concert and the movie.
Audience of the concert has chance to participate in , the biggest projected movie in Asia,
as extras, and the movie gets advantage of putting real concert site vividly.
In the movie,
the concert scene is about ¡®In-su¡¯, as a lighting director, reminiscing time he felt special love of his
lifetime with snowfall. Screams from large size audience, live performance by best Korean singers,
and spring snow falling from the sky are there like a lie. All of those will combine together to make a
most beautiful scene Korean movie will remember for a long time.

Best Crew, All in One Place

Expectation on <April Snow> is not just limited to the director and the cast. Another people on attention
are the camera director LEE Mo-gae, who became the center of attention in <A Tale of Two Sisters>

Oblivious to the worst crisis in Korea-Japan relations in the 40 years, the curiosity of Japanese tourists in the grip of the Korean wave continues unabated in the small east coast town of Samchok, Gangwon Province.

Over 100 Japanese tourists have been visiting Samchok a day since last month, when filming of new movie "Outing" starring Bae Yong-joon got underway in the city. Bae, known to his Japanese fans as Yonsama, gave his name to the phenomenon of Yonsama fever with his role in the runaway hit

More than 100 Japanese reporters swarmed Juksoru pavilion on Thursday, when filming was open to the public, part of a contingent of some 200 local journalists and 130-plus reporters from 65 media organizations in eight countries including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia. An interview with Bae was part of the package.

The Japanese displayed the greatest interest. Covering the events were 20-odd media organizations like NHK, TV Tokyo, NTV, Fuji TV and TBS, and newspapers including the Yomiuri Shimbun.

UIP Japan, the distributor of the forthcoming film, was accompanied by a separate group of Japanese reporters. "Having no opportunity to meet Bae Yong-joon except for public filming, we've come to Korea for a week-long tour," said Osawa Yoko, a NTV producer. "We plan to cover everything about Bae."

The Korean wave crested in March, with the number of Japanese visitors exceeding 2,000, up from only a couple of Japanese tourists a month in the past. JTB, Japan's biggest tourist agency, is starting tours to Samchok from Saturday. Some 80 percent of hotel guests are Japanese.

Bae Yong-joon is lodged at the Palace Hotel here. "An enormous number of tourists are on watch in and around the hotel just to encounter Bae in the lobby," said Han Jae-hyun, an employee at the hotel.

Scenes on the set and during the interview were reminsicent of Hollywood. Guarded by a security firm, only journalists with press cards were allowed to enter the press conference site after strict verification. "We had no option but to take the step because hordes of Japanese tourists are staying in Samchok," explained Lee Jin-sang, an official of Blue Storm, the film producer.

"Outing" is a melodrama in which Insu (Bae) rushes to an unknown city upon
hearing that his wife has had a car accident but meets and falls in love with Seo-young (Son Ye-jin), the wife of an unknown man who was riding the car with his wife. The movie is to open simultaneously in 10 Asian countries in September.

ShowEast has concluded distribution contracts with five Asian countries like
Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Negotiations are underway with Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and China.

Bae Yong-jun, Son Ye-jin Shoot First Scene of "April Snow"

The filming set of the movie "April Snow," starring Bae Yong-jun,
was opened to reporters for the first time in Samcheok, Gangwon Province.
On that day, the usually serene village near a squid fishing port
was crowded with over 350 journalists.

The scene filmed in front of the reporters was the first date of the movie's main characters
In-soo (played by Bae Yong-jun) and Seo-young (played by Son Ye-jin).
It was an ordinary dating scene of a man and a woman
enjoying the warm sunshine together.
In the scene, the two characters realize for the first time that
they have strong feelings for each other.

"I feel like I am learning acting from scratch.
Although I am well familiar with director Heo's style,
I never imagined it would be so different this time," said Bae.
But he added that by the time the movie is finished shooting,
his acting style will be much more similar with the director's work style. "
It's a transformation in terms of acting rather than in terms of character," noted Bae.

Apart from Bae, there is another reason high expectations are being placed on the movie:
the lead actress Son Ye-jin, who is known to be very talented in melodramatic acting.

Her character falls in love with Bae's character,
and the two begin a complicated and entangled relationship.
Since both actors are adept at melodramatic roles,
their acting in the first filmed scene looked very real.

"April Snow" will open in September of this year.

BYJ 'transforms into sensibility acting' in 'Oe Chool(April Snow)'

While entire Asian attention are flocking together to a new film, >i>Oe Chool(April Snow)' by representative star of Krean Current, BYJ, as BYJ pronounced acting transformation, turning interests on it.

The character BYJ takes in the 'Oe chool(April Snow) is a man In-su, who became aware of adultry from his wife's accident and whose heart is breaking at a love which came along with it.

Although it seems that it does not diverge from tender image until now just by looking at the characater, for BYJ himself, it is received as much a big transformation as in the film 'Scandal-The Love Story of Men & Women, where he acted 'the best playboy'

BYJ confided that "I am acting in entirely different style from the method I had been working on acting until now," and "it was not an easy decision and it is that much difficult wokr."

It is to say that BYJ, who had been famous for acting by thorough prior preparationsand plans thus far, is getting assimilated in considerable part to style of Director Hur Jin-ho in which one has to act close to imprompty acting while resigning body to heart.

Although it is BYJ who confessed difficulty saying "It is a difficult sensibiity work to the extent of creating dialogues as hearts move on the shooting sites without making decision ahead of time," he told, however, "the difficulty is getting less as directing capability of the Director is good and SYJ's concentration into feeling is also superb."

The film 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is a movie with story that man & women, who met in an unfamiliar city of Samcheok, Kangwon-Do due to automobile accident of their spouses, get to know adultry of their spouses, and they fall into heart-breaking love while they could not avoid encouters due to it.

It began shooting in the past February and shooting is underway with aim to be relased in all regions in Asia simultaneously in coming September.

As Director Hur Jin-ho of film 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' appearing BYJ & SYJ told "I am shooting the film scenes with BYJ's ideas", getting attention.

At the open shooting and press conference of 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' held in Jookseoroo in Samcheok, Kangwon-Do at 6PM on 17, Director Hur told, "BYJ at the shooting sites is lively and humeous," and "As he is very full of ideas, in particular, so that I am making the film scenes with BYJ's ideas."

As I could rest today in a long time, I am leaving a writing here for dear you.

Since I was asked a question regarding Dokdo (Dok Island) at the press conference on film 'Oe Chool(April SNow)' on the past 17, I have been very much agonized over it. Although it was improper to express opinion on such an important issue in that occasion in many aspects ot it, apart from such situational aspect, that several words answer only was dealted inn numerous news articles and became an object of argument on internet. Even though I gave answer with all my best in that press conference at the time, the reason I am leaving writing like this since that time is, because I do not like to create any more worries among , more than any, our families, and my parent who believe that I am working earnestly and well. And, it is because I want to keep my promise of very one word I said at the time while I was answering that I would answer to it again at proper next opportunity, not on the occasion where we are talking about the film. Therefore, now, I would like to talk first to my family who are always keeping watching me here.

Although my answer is only one, I also would like to talk to you one opinions regarding it. Dokdo is a Korean territory, and because of that, I think we have to deal with it more rationally. I see that we need also to think camly what actually would it change, what kind of help would it give for the true resolution while every one talks a word on whose soil Dokdois. I also have earnest wish that the people (of two nations) would no longer get hurt due to emotional controntation, and that it would not go up the deterioration of relationship. More than anything, I believe that people who decide the national policies in both nations would handle it in wise ways in short period of time on this important national issue. As a member of people of nation, I worry and wish that people would no longer suffer from pain.

If there is any role given to me, I wonder if it is to connect the lines between heart & heart of Asian family, rather than one word of talk drawing a line of national territory. And I would like to do all my best in that task. Just like (I have done) until now, my heart of desiring to do good deed with our families in Asia will unchange in the future also. Therefore, I will put efforts in order to return undeserved love I have been receiving until now with bigger love.

thanks trueblueOBC. untold scandal is the debut film of byj. its a period drama and the screenplay is an adaptation of Dangerous Liaisons. Its R-18 because of some sexual scenes. BYJ plays a playboy here, thus, calls for some erotic scenes. the film was directed by EJ Yong and in my opinion, one of the best films i've ever seen. this film was a critical and box office success in korea and beyond. until now, its still being shown in various festivals around US and europe. The film was even included by some western critics as one of the 10 best films in 2004.

presently, byj is making his second film entitled April Snow. this is a melodrama and deals with adultery. his lead lady is Son Yejin of Summer Scent and the Director is Hur Jinho, voted one of the 10 best Asian directors. watch out for it!!

i strongly recommend that u watch untold scandal :cool: keep an open mind about the movie and appreciate its high quality production values.

Hi everyone, I think you read about BOF notice, today about BYJ's new work. I am ver happy to hear that BYJ examines his possible new work now. We won't wait that long after April Snow for his new work.

Korean newspapers report that BYJ WILL appear in Kim Jong Hak's new TV drama, Tae Wang Sa Sin Ki(Strory of Four Gods and Great King). Can we believe this(a Korean reporter said it is already decided)? No, as BOF mentions "nothing is decided now" but it is, of course, true that PD Kim proposed BYJ to appear in his TV drama and BOF answered to him(according to Korean reports) "we will exmine your offer very seriously". The point I want to share with you is that BOF seldom uses the words "very seriously", so simply, it is true that "BYJ and BOF are thinking about this TV drama very seriously but no final decision is made yet"

Kim PD said, "I will decide the main actor in this play within 2 weeks and announce who it is", BOF said in an interview, "Final decision will be made after the shooting of April Snow is ended", so we can feel some differences in opinions between Kim PD and BOF.

This TV drama is a story about Kokuryo(ancient Korean Kingdom)'s great King, Tae Wang. It is said this will be a "very fantastic historical drama using lots of SFX and Kung Fu style action"

It seems true that BYJ showed some interests in this TV drama but there is a saying that the story of this drama is not original and has a legal problem in the story. Though the word " seriously" by BOF makes me think a lot about this drama, "the story problem" must be solved if BYJ participates in this drama. I like Kung Fu action so much. If BYJ will show us his brilliant action plays with wonderful images, I will be very happy.

As Kim PD said he would annouce the name of main actor very soon, let us wait what this guy would say.

Korean star Bae Yong-joon, or Yonsama to his many Japanese fans, has belatedly responded to a patriotic campaign asserting Korean sovereignty
over the Dokdo Islets coveted by Japan. He had earlier dodged questions about the controversial rocks in the East Sea during an interview on location of the film “Going Out” in Samchok, Gangwon Province.

“Since I was asked the questions about Dokdo, I have thought about the issue. Dokdo is Korean territory, and therefore Korean people should take a
more rational approach to the issue,” Bae said in a post on his official homepage Monday.

“We need to calmly think about how our current responses will help solve the
issue. I hope the two countries’ policy makers will wisely resolve the issue
as soon as possible. I genuinely hope both the Korean and Japanese people
will not become involved in emotional conflict that puts the relations between them in jeopardy,” Bae added. In the Samchok interview, Bae said he was concerned about the issue as a Korean but would take another chance to speak out about it. After the interview, some Internet patriots attacked Bae for not making it clear that Dokdo belongs to Korea.

About 2,000 Japanese women visited Samchok to see Bae Yong-jun in
February.

The 'Oe Chool(April Snow)', Director Hur Jin-ho's new film, featuring BYJ & SYJ, made public its location site for the first time in Samcheok, Kangwon-Do. It was a huge outings(Oe chool in Korean) attended by 350 Korean and foreign press corps.

BYJ cannot be seen. BYJ can be seen. BYJ is walking and people are running. "Is it (a can of) cola?". when someone shouted at top of his voice, BYJ answered with one beat slowly holding up a can in his hand. "This is coffee." He would not miss greeting with eyegazes and waving hands to press corps who are lining like a long belt. Wneever Yon-sama's hand moves even a littel bit, the shutter sounds from cameras are flying from all directions. The Yon-sama's face from far away, surrounded by noises and crowd is to the degree that it almost looks like a skin colored dot.

The 'Oe Chool(April Snow)', a new film featuring BYJ & SYJ and directed by Director Hur Jin-ho in 4 years since 'One Fine Spring Day', made public its filming location site for the first time in Jookseoroo, a tourist spot in Samcheok, Kangwon-Do. Due to a large scale interests brought on by Yon-sama's casting, the number of Korean and foreign press corps who came to the location site on that day was total 370. Two hundred twenty Korean press corps and 150 foreign reporters attended. The 'Screen international', 'Hollywood Report' as well as foreign presses from Taiwan, Singapore & Japan mingled, and not only domestic air waves, cable TVs, & paper presses of course, but even a satellite relay car rushed in. The press concerence site in Samcheok Palace Hotel almost reminded of atmosphere of international film festival. That was even one step more in Jookseoroo, shooting site. There was a red-colored guide line at the entrance of the location site, made public separately for Korean press corps and foreign presses. Due to over 100 cameramen, after standing determined in front of it, running at full speed(!) in a hurry toward a small door in Jookseoroo connecting to the shooting site as the guide line was moved away, & locasion site sketch by broadcasting stations to deliver atmosphere of this confusing situation, rare scenes of taking photos of each others have happened. Bodily fignts beetween press corps and security guards occurred in many places. At the press conference, a question to hear Korean Current star BYJ's opinion about 'Dok Island issue' was also given timely for the current situation.

Outing (Oe chool) on a strange spring day

Director Hur Jin-ho in 'full-armed fashion', wearing a pair of sunglasses, blue jumper, and blue cap covering his face, leisurely appears in the Jookseoroo location site. With steps as if there is nothing to hurry, he whispers something to actors. That appearance of talking with actors with dim smile and quiet gesture, has not nearly changed from the time of 'One FIne Spring Day' 4 years ago. Although the staff are sensitive due to screaming from press corps and changed shooting scene because of rain since morning, Director Hur seems uniquely composed. It is really strange scene that his shooting site which had always been very quiet became nealy the atmosphere of battleground. What can they do. The production staff of the 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is proceeding embracing tightly the wind brought on by casting BYJ from the early stage of the production. The areas aroune here including the Jookseoroo is entirely stages of the 'Oe Chool(April Snow)'. Cafe Isac, located across from entrance to Jookseoroo, Samheung Motel, Medical Center, etc. are spaces where main characters In-su(BYJ) and Seo-young(SYJ) would meet and go past by each other. Somehow they remind of atmosphere of surrounding of Photo Shop in 'Christmas in August' a debut film by Director Hur Jin-ho. Would it a difference from the time of 'Christmas in August' that there are unusually large numger of Japanese women among the on-lookers.

Amid of confusion, rehearsal proceeds. In-su and Seo-young, coming out of a store after eating Ramen, are walking inside of Jookseoroo. Seo-young is holding strawberry milk in her hand, and In-su is holdiing can coffee in his hand. In-su talks. "Yesterday was winter (and) today is spring."Seo-yong answers smiling. "It is very strange for season to change. (I feel) fluttering (in heart) and also afraid." Casting off difficult situation of taking care of each other's spouses in the hospital for a while, the two people stroll along together and hold hands. For those, it was an outing in really a long time as well as the first date. Sitting in a bench pouring down with sunshine, they are thinking the present instead of their spouses whl made them difficult and uncertain future. Director Hur Jin-ho captures the moment of love from there. "This is a scene they express favorable feeling toward each other. For the feeling, I made the dialogue on the location site. The Jookseoroo park scene is the last scene in winter. I would like to put vague situation in which although the season has changed and new love came, they would not properly express it."

The 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is a story in which 2 man & woman, having experienced accidents and betrayals of each other's spouses, are falling in love in an extreme situation. In-su, a concert lighting director, who was leading uneventful married life and Seo-young, 26-years old homemaker who had married at early age, heard the news of automobile accident of each other's spouses on one day, and moreover, they came to know the fact that they were having affairs each other. In a shock of accident and betrayal which break the balance of ordinary lives, In-su & Seo-young begin love making one think how they could do it. It is not that easy sitiation to experience and to act. One could symphasize with what BYJ has said, "although it is event which could enough to happen to anyone, I wish it not happen to anyone." i Although the filming had progress at aboout 25% yet, the actors are suffering to the extent they are losing weight. Sohn Yejin, who heard from Director Hur "very pretty" all the while on the shooting site, ordinarily had to cry for 10 , 20 time on numerous scenes, and BYJ had to recite the dialogue "I wish you to die" toward his wife lying in hospital bed for 30 times. Director Hur Jin-ho, keadubg tgus confusion of emotion, is making a vague smile saying, "the scenes in which the two man & woman are creating appearances of loving although they feel difficult would be the most difficult to do and interesting." BYJ would laugh "when the filming is over, I might become similar to Director. I feel like that it might help in my acting career in the future."

The title of 'Outing, Oe Chool(April Snow)' inevitably smells atmosphere something different from previous Hur Jin-ho style meoldramas which gently pushed a corner of heart. As what Director Hur said, it is a title "meaning a certain deviation while one lives." Director Hur Jin-ho and actors have already shot the ending scene. However, there is things in life one cannot stop even though one sees the ending. Although one knows all about it, the emotions changes every now and then. Director Hur Jin-ho's will is to direct that moment of deviation quite intensely and strongly. By the way the English title of the 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is 'April Snow' hinting the feeling of 'Christmas in August'. After all, although there are things which have changed, there are also things which have not changed. Just like talk by Director Hur Jin-ho, "I wanted to grasp the beauty of moment when flower blooms while there is snow in film", the 'Oe Chool(April Snow)' is creating a special understanding about love passing winter and about to greeting spring. One can confirm its true heart in 5 Asian countries of Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Korea which are preparing simultaneous openings in coming September.

anyway, kanina we were at a korean resto in podium kasama ko sina yelowcat, shane at spygirl pati na din sina justified...may nakita kami newspaper, nasa cover si oppa BYJ!! waaaaah!! sympre nde namin maintindihan diba?! ehhe..pero dami nya pics dun un nga lang B&W sya..pero grabe gwapo pa din... :)

hello! napanood ko na yung untold scandal. ang OT ko! nabanggit ko lang kasi magkakaron na sya ng bagong movie. kaya lang bakit sa soompi marami ako nabasa na mga negative reactions like di raw sila bagay ni SYJ dahil sa age gap. baket?! di naman ganun katanda si BYJ ah. anku, dapat maganda yung movie to prove them wrong.

before, may nakita akong ad ni BYJ sa mall, for ray-ban.. nung titingnan ko uli, wla na sya. tinanggal na ata nung store.
