S fans unite!! :) Started a thread because supposedly, they will be recording an album this year. :)

S is a project group of SM Town that debuted in 2003. The group is made up of 3 very talented guys. Shin Hye-Sung is a member of the 6-man group shinhwa, who have a very big following in Korea because of their talent, electrifying stage presence and of course, their good looks. The group is still together and will be recording their 7th album this year. Kang Ta was a member of the monumental group H.O.T. (they have already disbanded) with fellow SM towner Moon Hee Jun and the 3 members of JTL. Has been a solo artist eversince the group broke up and is a very gifted musician and song writer. Lee Ji Hoon is a solo artist who has also has experienced success in Korea. The 3 are members of the 79 Club (Korean artists who were born in 1979, incl. Lee Hyo lee, Kim Dong Wan etc.) wherein Kang Ta is the president. They have been friends for a long time, as evident with the song Doll, which was written by Kang Ta for Ji Hoon and where he sings the duet with Shin Hye Sung (You can see all 3 of them in the video of Doll, with Kang Ta playing the piano, I think).

Lee Ji Hoon naman is an actor nowadays. His movie, Lovely Rivals was just released last year. I have seen the movie and its cute. Ji Hoon is just a supporting character in this movie though.

A fight for love always sounds romantic, but what if the battle field is an elementary school and the two rivals in love are a female teacher and her 12-year-old student trying to win the heart of a good-looking teacher? A new local comedy successfully takes the funny factors from this exact situation and develops it as bitter sweet.

``Yosonsaeng VS Yojeja (Lovely Rivals),’’ directed by Jang Gyoo-seong, seems like a sequel for the director’s previous comedy ``My Teacher, Mr. Kim,’’ since it is also set in a primary school and is about a teacher who doesn’t have any affection towards his students but later finds the true meaning of teaching.

However, ``Lovely Rivals’’ presents more uncontrived humor over the natural development of its story, delivered by main actress Yeom Jeong-ah from ``Pomchoe-ui Chaegusong (The Big Swindle)'' and ``Changhwa, Hongryon (A Tale of Two Sisters),'' and Lee Se-young from ``Ahopsal Insaeng (When I Turned Nine).’’

Completely different from her roles of a femme fatale in her previous films, Yeom’s comic acting to play a sassy and quirky single lady in her 30s in the movie is good enough to bring audiences to laughter, which is blended with Lee’s cute yet cynical image.

The film revolves around Yoe Mi-ok (Yeom), a teacher who is thinking only of escaping from the school and moving to the city without taking proper care of her students. Her easy going life in school is challenged when she falls in love at first sight with a handsome and gentle male teacher, played by Lee Ji-hoon, but one of her students Ko Mi-nam (Lee), who is a little more mature than her classmates, becomes the teacher’s worst hindrance to obtaining her love.

As the story evolves, jealousy and psychological warfare between them create witty and funny scenes. While presenting the main character’s enmity, the movie also introduces current problems in schools such as young teachers’ losing passion for their students and yearning only for a job in the big cities.

Since their mutual understanding leads Yoe to find the value of her job, some might say the movie is predictably a bit sentimental at the end, but it successfully delivers humor which can be genuinely heartfelt and differentiated from toilet humor mixed with meaningless violence, which is so often seen in recent local movies.

In "The Magicians," Alec Su plays a pauper from the countryside looking for work in the city. In order to make a living he enters the magic troupe, only wanted to learn magic to earn money, to improve his family's financial situation to put his younger brother through college; Lin Hsinju plays a girl who's gentle on the outside but strong on the inside, inherits a magic theater from her father, she & Kangta are childhood lovers. But too bad later on Kangta dumps her for fame and fortune. The three of them gets involve in a love triangle.

And as i'm sure you guys know, Shin Hye Sung is busy with Shinhwa activities as well as his preparations for his solo album.

but the 3 of them were spotted together in Japan.

Singer/Actor Lee Ji hoon expressed his gratitude to his closest friends Kangta and Shin Hyesung.

Lee Ji hoon organized his first Japanese fanmeeting in Japan's Yokohama on the 22nd, and thanks to his friends, he was able to successfully finish with a great promotion. Lee Ji Hoon's management said, "Through Kangta and Shin Hyesung's help, we were able to realize the great friendship between the three of them."
Lee Ji Hoon introduced himelf to approximately 5000 Japanese female fans that day. Kangta, who arrived in Japan with Lee Ji Hoon on the 21st, and Hyesung, a Shinhwa member, who had just finished a concert in Japan's Osaka, showed a great performance on stage with Ji Hoon.

Lee Ji Hoon, Kangta, and Shin Hyesung performed together as the group S, showing their tight bond with each other, and on that day, they also performed the S title track, "I swear". Lee Ji Hoon's management said, "It's been about a year since they've performed on stage together." and "After performing, the three of them spoke of releasing another S album, sealing their friendship."
Lee Ji Hoon's fan meeting attracted much more attention than what was originally expected, and thus required more security and seats than usual. Following the fanmeeting, he had a handshake session with 1000 fans, finishing up his Japanese promotion with a great success.

2/19/05 - Kim Jae Won, Eugene, Han Eun Jung, and Lee Ji Hoon left for Singapore on 2/16 to film their new drama "Wonderful Life" scheduled to be aired by MBC on 3/7. They will stay there for 5 days to film the scenes where Seung Wan (played by Kim Jae Won) and Se Jin (played by Eugene) come across each other and have a one night stand in Singapore. Afterwards, they get married because Se Jin is pregnant, and then they experience the true love by raising their child.

Kangta will come back with 3rd solo album

Kangta, former member of H.O.T. will come back to the stages with his 3rd solo album, after 2 and half years of rest. Currently, Kangta is busy wrapping up the recording fo songs and producing music videos for the new tracks. Kangta aims to show off a more mature music and appearance with his new album. The new album is known to consist various styles of music including his trademark sad ballads along with upbeat dance numbers. In particular, many R&B numbers are known to be included in the new album

A singer from the year 1990 and one from 2000 is competing in a drama.

1990's best group H.O.T's Kangta and 2000's best star Bi are going to
compete with dramas. Both were casted as the leads in KBS 2TV and MBC
Miniseries that are planning to air in May.

Bi is the male lead in MBC Miniseries "Cruel Love" while Kangta has
been casted in KBS 2TV "LoveHolic." Kangta has been picked as the
male lead and he just has to sign the contract. Both BI & Kangta are
acting out characters that are opposites of them. They are planning
to show a different side of them, something different from their
singer image. They are planning to show an extreme distrust &
loveholic symptoms towards love.

In "Cruel Love" Bi's character is dark and bitter. Due to his birth
background he has an extreme distrust towards love. He meets a lady
who lost everything because of love and leads a cruel love. Bi
appeared in KBS "Sangdooya HakGyo Ka Ja" and "Full House" and
suceeded in his acting career. Through MBC "Cruel Love" his goal is
to transform into a top actor.

In "LoveHolic" Kangta plays a student who falls in love with a
professor. Kangta plays a character who would do anything for love,
like going to jail for the professor who became a murderer by
accident. Afterwards, the professor gets engaged but Kangta can't
forget about her and becomes a loveholic. Kangta had appeared in a
drama in China so he has some acting skills but this is his debut
drama in Korea.

Singer Kang Ta, a former member of the male group H.O.T., is set to make a comeback March 4 with his third album entitled “Persona.” The new album will be released two and a half years since the start of its recording due to the singer’s busy schedule. Kang has recently been starring in a Chinese television drama and singing in the group S. “Persona” will be also released in China in mid March.

Kang Ta’s third album features mostly sad and melancholy songs from diverse genres, including soul, R&B, ballads and jazz. The singer participated in writing the album’s eight songs. The title song, “Mask,” is a slow-tempo R&B song about a man saying goodbye to his love, and the contrast between his outward appearance and inner feelings.

The album also includes the songs “Illusion,” a pensive ballad; “Paralysis,” featuring a funky rhythm; “Just One Day,” the theme song of the Chinese drama “Magic Encounter”; and “Prayer,” which was written to pay tribute to the victims of the South Asian tsunami disaster.

Singer Kang Ta was hospitalized with malignant laryngitis in a general hospital in Gangnam, Seoul, on March 6. Kang, who has just released his third album and was starring in the new KBS TV2 series “Loveholic,” has suffered from fatigue and neck pain recently.

"His health has deteriorated severely since he returned from his eight-day tour abroad. Immediately after finishing the filming of a music video in the U.S. in late February, he went to China to give concerts. And as soon as he came back to Korea, he began starring in a television drama despite having a bad cold," said a person close to Kang.

Currently, the singer is taking rest at the hospital after undergoing medical examinations. He had to suspend his acting in the drama “Loveholic,” whose shooting began March 3. But the production team of the drama said there was still much time left to shoot “Loveholic” as it will air after the currently shown series “Eighteen Vs. Twenty-Nine,” which premiered March 7.

i watched it na. ji hoon had like 1 friggin english line. it was eugene who had lots and she has vastly improved (compared to her tension MV). Jaewon is a bit hard to understand though. :)

S is a project group made of 3 stars both from the 79club and they will come together on the 25th at 12 at Seoul's Jong Go Samsumg building for MBC's 'Sunday Sunday Night's corner 'ÁÖ¸Ô¹ä ÄÜ¼Æ®¡¯ (rice ball concert.. the name is funny but its a really sad program). Shin Hyesung and Lee Jihoon are coming to support Kangta on this day. Shinhwa's Shin Hyesung have taken time off recording his solo album and Lee Ji Hoon have come after his filming of MBC's 'Wonderful Life'.

They will be singing S's hit song 'I swear'. S has said "Kangta has released his 3rd album and we couldnt just stay still. We have come to support him". They also said "Next year we will be releasing the 2nd album for S, and it is a great feeling standing on stage once again together."

Kangta has raised 4,596 man won during the 'ÁÖ¸Ô¹ä ÄÜ¼Æ®¡¯ . Kangta's 'ÁÖ¸Ô¹ä ÄÜ¼Æ®¡¯ will air on the 10th of April.

si Eugene and Kim Jae won ang nagkaroon ng baby sa series ng Wonderful Life.. im currently watching it and im paitently waiting for episode 9 & 10 which will air next week na!! i cant wait their kid is already 5 yrs old and shes sooo adorable!!

Lee Ji Hoon Changed his hairstyle 3 times in the series and he's HOT, he's rich in this series and he's the president of a mall i think or some company!! :D

Kangta decides to use his real name Ahn Chil Hyun (안칠현) instead of his stage name Kangta from now on. His new drama "러브홀릭 (Loveholic)" is scheduled to be aired by KBS2 on 5/2 following the final episode of "18 vs. 29". Popular singer Bi (real name Jung Ji Hoon, 정지훈) and Eric (real name Moon Jung Hyuk, 문정혁) use their stage names when they lead the drama "Full House" and "New Employee" respectively. The PD Lee Kun Joon (이권준) of "Loveholic" suggests Kangta to use his real name and Kangta accepts the idea because the Chinese characters of his first name "七炫" stand for Seven Sparks (일곱 불꽃), which has been well liked by his Chinese fans.

In “Loveholic,” whose shooting began in early March, Kang plays high-school troublemaker Seo Kang-uk, who falls in love with his teacher, Lee Yul-ju (played by Kim Min-seon), who is four years his senior. In the drama, Kang had to appear in many violent scenes to portray his character -- a problem child who was raised by his grandmother after his parents died.

"We had to suspend the shooting several times because of the injuries that I received during fighting scenes in the first three episodes. Once I even blacked out during a scene where I was hit in the head with a bar," said Kang.

Kang said he had a hard time when his face swelled up as he was slapped and beaten more than 20 times in all, but tried to hide his pain from the production crew, who were doing their best to produce high-quality scenes.

The actor also said he was very sorry to fellow actress Kim, who bruised her face when Kang stumbled over some filming equipment and fell down in a scene where he was running while carrying Kim on his back. The shooting was suspended for a few days due to the two actors’ injuries.

Kang Ta to Hold Concert Tour in China

Singer Kang Ta will release his third album, entitled “Persona,” in China early next month, and go on tour there from July to August to benefit Chinese children living in remote mountainous areas. Kang’s new album contains two songs in Chinese, “Mask” and “Trash.” During his tour, the singer will give concerts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and all proceeds from the concerts will be donated to the children in remote areas.

Kang disclosed his plans at a press conference held on April 28 at the Beijing Palace Garden Hotel. The press conference venue was crowded with journalists as the female group Chunsangjihee, which recently released its debut single entitled “Too Good” in China, was also participating at the press conference.

Following the press conference, Kang met with over a thousand of his Chinese fans. In the evening, he and Chunsangjihee participated in an online chatting event with fans that was organized by the portal site sina.com.

On April 29, Kang and Chunsangjihee appeared on CCTV’s music program “Chunghwajung.” On the show, Kang sang “Mask” and Chunsangjijee performed “Too Good.”

At Shin Hyesung’s “Love Of May” showcase held at Seoul Olympic Stadium on 7 May at 7.30pm, they were asked if they showed more support to their fellow member.

Junjin said: “I told Hyung today ‘You are really great’. Other than that, I couldn’t say anything else.” while Minwoo’s comments “He’s really mysterious, graceful, beautiful and delicate” made Hyesung looked embarrassed.

At the stadium, Minwoo told the fans who filled up the stadium: “Because today is Shin Hyesung’s day, all of you must call his name loudly!” Fans shouted “Shin Hyesung” and his real name “Jung Pil Gyo” together, making Shin Hyesung very happy.

Group S reunites after two years for "April Snow"

Group S formed by Kangta, Shin Hyesung and Lee Ji Hoon will be reuniting after two years for Bae Yong Jun's movie, "April Snow". After releasing their first project album, "I Swear" in September 2003, the members of S have been busy with their individual activities. After 2 years, they have finally come back together for "April Snow"'s THEME SONG, "Breath (숨)".

"Breath" is written by Kangta and it's a pop ballad with a dreamy feel. Kangta wrote the song after reading the script of the movie firsthand, giving the song an even greater feel of a sad love. Rarely heard in pop ballads, the song will also feature the 3 member's harmonizing as a group.

The group will be going to the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, to attend the "April Snow (Japan Opening)" event with Bae Yong Jun. They are slated to perform not only the Japanese version of their title song "I Swear" from their debut album but also the theme song of the movie, "Breath".

On the other hand, No 1 Korean wave star, Kangta will be doing a solo concert in Beijing, China this coming September 30th. After that, he will be doing all kinds of events in China and Asia. He also have plans to hold large scale concerts all over Asia, aiming to become the best artist reaching out to the whole of Asia.

Participating in the soundtrack, Shin Hyesung had staged a little solo performance in Japan with Shinhwa earlier this year and was widely received. His collaboration with SMAP, the No 1 group in Japan was the start of the many kinds of activities in Japan that he will take part in. He is slated to start his promotion for his solo album due in Autumn in Japan.

Earlier this year in Yokohama, Japan, Lee Ji Hoon held a successful fanmeeting for the first time. He will definitely create another stir with his Best compilation due for release in Japan soon.

Hallyu star Kang Ta swept his Vietnamese fans off their feet when he performed at the 'Peace Concert' held on Sept. 10 in Hanoi, Vietnam. He received a favorable response from some 2,500 fans who attended the concert.

Just like Korean fans, Kang's Vietnamese fans greeted their favorite singer with white balloons, turning the entire auditorium into a balloon sea. When the singer was leaving the stage, some 50 ardent fans ran up to him, leaving Kang with bruises on his arms and back.

From the moment he landed, multitudes of fans followed Kang everywhere he went and shouted out his name, attesting to his skyrocketing popularity in
Vietnam. Although Kang has gained enormous popularity in the Chinese-speaking region, this was his first visit to Vietnam. His success in that country is quite unprecedented given that he has yet to release and promote an album there.

"I was really surprised at the overzealousness of my Vietnamese fans, which I did not expect at all as it was my first visit, but I was happy to see so many fans greeting me at the airport. If I have the opportunity, I want to give concerts in Vietnam and in many other countries in the future," said Kang.

Currently, the singer is busy preparing for the 2005 Charity Beijing Concert to be held Sept. 30 in Beijing, China, where he is expected to stage an exciting performance.

hey welcome!! wow really? he's excempted? i didn't know that.

i know a couple of reasons why 1 could be excempted:

1. the guys is the only man in the house (dead father) or the only son
I think Lee Byung Hoon is excempted because of this.

2. the guy has an injury that would make him unable to participate in the service.

3. they are not of Korean nationality (lots of gasoos/actors have fled to other countries to avoid service)

so i don't know if these are the only reasons and i don't know if lee ji hoon used any of these if he is excempted. :)

Singer/actor Lee Ji-hoon will hold a fan meeting Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Oriental Hotel Kochi in Kochi Prefecture, the shooting location of his latest movie “Sweet Dream,” which was filmed entirely in Japan.

Aimed at promoting the movie, the fan meeting will comprise a talk show, games, a handshaking event, and a visit to the filming set of the final scene of “Sweet Dream” to promote exchange among Lee’s fans.

The filming of “Sweet Dream” took three months, beginning from last September. It is an action movie about Korean youths who stand up to members of the Japanese yakuza. In the story, actor Yeon Jung-hoon plays the main character, “K,” who becomes the leader of his gang after numerous conflicts with his authoritative father. Japanese actor Kitamura Katsuki portrays a third-generation Japanese-Korean named “Datsuya,” while Lee plays “Jun-ho,” a friend of Datsuya’s.
