I notice that we have a very active Entertainment section in the forum - mostly participated by a fanatic.

I would love to understand this behavior - what makes you a fan or fanatic? Being a fan of a certain personality or celebrity - what's going on in your mind? Is this unexplainable or is there a logical reason why there are such group of people? I know it's because of admiration, but some people go beyond admiration - they would even fight for that star.

If you are fan, what makes you one? Is it mostly physical attraction? or is there something more beyond the skin?

I am a huge Vic Zhou Yu Min fan and I'm proud of it. It's his beautiful facial features that got me attracted to him at first plus his role as Hua Ze Lei in Meteor Garden. I started to look more information about him and gradually learned what he really is. Now, I can say that his good looks is the least remarkable thing about him.

I wiil fight for him. Why not? He deserved it.

i can say that i'm a fanatic... i started out to be a movie fan, then tv... i don't know how to say it but it's an inclination towards a celebrity that makes me like them... not only the looks, skills, not even just the personality... it's a combination of all these (add-less each factor). it's the attraction that we get when we like an ordinary person...

now i watch a certain movie or tv series partly bec. of the stars in it...

what keeps you a fan i can say is the friends you gained admiring a certain celebrity... if you like the people you are with, you'll enjoy sharing the same things and by doing that you keep the fanatic blood alive in you...

i've met really good friends through the celebrities... and our friendship now goes beyond being fans... ;)

Fanatic - is defined as a "person who is excessively enthusiastic about something"

I'm a movie and tv fanatic but I'm not a diehard one to the point that I would fight and argue if someone is saying bad things about the series, shows or even celebrity I like. Life is short so let us enjoy every minute of it. I watch movies and series mainly not with who stars in it but with the quality of story it offers. I find nothing wrong with being a fanatic because you gain friendship and happiness but if it is already destroying your personality or who you are it's already a different story.
