kung sa meteor garden, nagawa kong bumili ng soundtrack album...sa jitp naman, bumili ako ng dvd series...pero hindi ko pa inuumpisahan, naka-display lang...tatapusin ko muna ang bersyon ng gma7.

sa kabilang dako...naisip ko na i-refresh sa mga ka-jewel natin dyan ang pinakahuling pangyayari sa palasyo...lalo pa't yung karamihan ay walang sariling dvd copy ng jitp at halos nalimutan ang episode last friday gawa ng pagdiriwang natin ng new year...

sa paghuli ng mga kawal ng palasyo sa isang 'nanloob'...nadiskubre ni madam jung ang pagnakaw ng mga choi sa aklat na para lang at sadyang sagrado para sa mga punong tagapaglingkod ng kusina

nakabalik na si jang geum sa palasyo, dala ang mahalagang aral at ilang bagong kaalaman mula sa yan-nam.

muling nagiging mailap naman si geum young kay jang geum dahil sa karibal din pala niya ito sa pag-ibig ni kapitan jung ho

agad namang nadiskubre ni lady choi ang pagkawala ng aklat na para lang sa mga punong tagapaglingkod ng kusina...at ang hinala niya ay posible nang nabawi iyon ni madam jung.

samantala, sa huli, muling nagkaayos sina lady han at jang geum. humingi muli ng paumanhin si jang geum sa kanyang 'guro'....at 'ina' na rin.....

wah ang bilis episode 23 kagad?... dami bang cuts?

I think etxetera is referring to the Chinese version na episode 23 na. Sa Korean version, episode 17-18, the first part of last Friday's episode still being part of episode 17, while the second part is actually the first part of episode 18.

"Dae Jang Geum" earned 5 billion won for copyright profit (2005/11/27)

MBC Production's copyright profit through the export of "Dae Jang Geum" will exceed 5 billion won until this year.

Manager Park Jae-bok of MBC Production announced it on Nov. 24 through theme material of the seminar "2005 Hallyu! Chance and Challenge" to be held at Mok-dong Broadcasting Center.

According to this material, since the drama's first export to Taiwan at the end of 2003, the total export profits are to be expected to exceed 5 billion won so far, which is defined only for copyright.

Especially, "Dae Jang Geum" has been exported to Middle East, Europe and Australia this year including Japan, Taiwan, China and South East Asia and next year it will be aired in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Iran and Europe additionally.

Park insisted in this material that total export profits of broadcasting contents exceeded $70 million last year while it will top $100 billion this year. Now the era of broadcasting contents export "$100 billion" came. We need to confirm production system and marketing specialized manpower for overseas export and to expand the market horizontality to develope "Color Contents" like "Daejanggeum" in the future.

In addition, he indicated that the aggravation of market sentiment due to anti-Hallyu and risk about Hallyu strategic contents development would menace the spread of Hallyu. The risky elements in the production are all regulations, unestablished pre-production system and narrow domestic demand with the population of 50 million.

sa kanilang pagpupursigi, nahirang si lady choi na punong tagapamahala sa kusina....buti na lamang at pansamantala lang sa tulong na rin ng ministrong 'kakampi' ni madam jung.

sa paghalili ni lady choi, ini-atas nya kina lady han at jang geum ang pag-estima sa sugong [ambassador] dumadalaw sa palasyo bilang panauhin doon.

marami na ang balita na wala pa raw puno at/o karaniwang tagapaglingkod sa kusina ang nakatagal sa bagsik ng sugo...dahilan para karaniwan daw sa mga iyon ay mabasa ang papel sa palasyo.

kaya hindi naiwasan, ikinabigla- ikinalungkot- at ikinabahala iyon nina lady han at jang geum....bagay namang ikinatutuwa ng mga choi.

ikinagalit ng sugo ang inihanda nina lady han at jang geum sa kanya. sa paningin nya ay walang mga lasa ang mga iyon. Idinipensa naman ni lady han iyon bilang proteksyon ng sugo laban sa diabetes.

ipinakulong si lady han dahil sa umano'y kapangahasan.

si jang geum naman, pilit ipinagtanggol ang guro...at sa huli'y nagprisinta na sa loob ng 5 araw ay pagbigyan sila na ipamalas sa sugo ang kabutihang-dulot ng mga pagkaing ihahain dito.

pumayag ang sugo pero dapat si jang geum lang dapat ang magluto.

napasubo si jang geum. nagprisinta na si lady choi na siyang magluluto pero pinaalis siya ni jang geum sa kusina.

doon naisip ni lady choi na maglaan pa rin ng marangyang handa para sa sugo makaraan ang limang araw.

sa loob ng palugit ng sugo, hindi nakita ni jang geum sa naturang panauhin ang kasiyahan sa inihahanda niyang pagkain para rito.

pero, mali si jang geum...

sa gitna ng pasasalamat ng sugo sa handa ni lady choi at geum young, mas pinuri ng sugo at pinasalamatan si jang geum sa mga hain nito. aniya, natuto siyang magpigil sa mga kinakain kahit iyon masasarap alang-alang sa kanyang kalusugan.

mas pinili ng sugo ang mapagsilbihan ni jang geum at gayundin ni lady han.

ibinida ni jang geum na ang turo sa kanya ng kanyang guro ay ang handang pagtalikod sa kagalingang magluto kung iyon ay para rin lang sa kalusugan ng kakain.

lubha iyong ikinainis nina lady choi at geum young

임금이 매일 6번 받았다는 12첩 수라상이다. 아침에 일어나서 잘때까지 먹다 자다를 했을 것이다.

그리고, 아래에 나온 요리들은 바로 그 유명한 장금이와 금영이의 음식경연에서 나왔던 그 요리들이다. 금영이의 애저찜도 보이고, 장금이의 산딸기꼬치도 보였다. 한번 먹어나 봤으면...

테마파크에서 저 요리들을 팔면 정말 잘 팔릴텐데... 아쉽게도 음식점은 없었다.

pinal namang itinanghal ng inang reyna [kasama ang reyna] si lady han bilang siyang nanalo sa ikalawang yugto ng paligsahan bunsod ng pag-aalaga sa sugo ng tsina.

all-one ika nga kina lady han at lady choi.

wala namang nagawa ang mga choi sa naging desisyon na ng inang reyna [sori, sabi ko sa naunang post ay reyna lang. yung tinukoy kong prinsesa sa naunang post ay siyang reyna pala...sori ulit --ed] na ipagpatuloy ang paligsahan sa pagitan nina lady choi at lady han....at iyon ay gagawin sa mismong kaarawan ng inang reyna.

Halu mga Jewels! Ask ko lang po ito kung ano na ang mangyayari kay Lady Han, siya pa ba ang mananalo? Hay naku gusto kung kunang ng mga mata ang mga salbahing kasabwat ng pamilyang Choi kanina.... Mga sakim kahit anong paraan talagang gagawin nila para makuha lang ang ambisyon magkaroon ng mataas na position sa loob ng palasyo.....

Duk Poh runs home to tell his wife about Lady Han being kidnapped. They then report the incident to Ming Jung Ho and asked for his help in getting the palace guards involved. After learning about what had happened, he goes off to search for Lady Han.

Yeon Saeng becomes worried that Lady Han has not yet returned. Young Roh tells Lady Choi something and finds out what happened to Lady Han and is furious about Pan Suh Choi's actions. She thinks her brother is not confident with her ability.

Madam Shin calls for an immediate meeting, asking why Lady Han is not present. Jang Geum tells them that Lady Han is outside the palace getting the ingredients that were ruined by the chickens that got in during the night. Jang Geum asks Madam Shin for the former to take the place of Lady Han. Madam Shin agrees, after being persuaded by Geum Young.

The blind market vendor delivers the seafood to Jang Geum. She is informed of what happened to Lady Han.

Jang Geum asks the help of Yeon Saeng for the contest.

Ginger has been used since time immemorial to spice up any cooking due to its strong taste, as well as being to hide some food's pungent smell. However, Saengran is milder than ginger. It's not spicy and its texture is similar to that of the jelly.

Duk Poh runs home to tell his wife about Lady Han being kidnapped. They then report the incident to Ming Jung Ho and asked for his help in getting the palace guards involved. After learning about what had happened, he goes off to search for Lady Han.

Yeon Saeng becomes worried that Lady Han has not yet returned. Young Roh tells Lady Choi something and finds out what happened to Lady Han and is furious about Pan Suh Choi's actions. She thinks her brother is not confident with her ability.

Madam Shin calls for an immediate meeting, asking why Lady Han is not present. Jang Geum tells them that Lady Han is outside the palace getting the ingredients that were ruined by the chickens that got in during the night. Jang Geum asks Madam Shin for the former to take the place of Lady Han. Madam Shin agrees, after being persuaded by Geum Young.

The blind market vendor delivers the seafood to Jang Geum. She is informed of what happened to Lady Han.

Jang Geum asks the help of Yeon Saeng for the contest.

ewan ko, baka hindi matuloy ang paligsahan kc wala si lady han. pinag-uusapan namin ng sis ko na kc true story ito, na baka ipapatay si lady han. hindi naman kasi papatalo ang kuya ni lady choi eh. wala nga shang tiwala sa kakayahan ni lady choi kasi unang-una, kinailangan pang sirain ang mga sangkap nla lady han at jan-geum at pangalawa, pinadukot si lady ha. tapos baka hindi na maging punong tagapamahala si jang-geum kasi naging nurse sha. kung naging nurse sha, hindi kaya't pinaalis sha sa palasyo? theory lang namin ito...

Totoo bang may 2 versions, 70 cds malaysian version at 54 cds us version na binebenta dito? Saka alin sa 2 ang mas maganda? Iyung 70 daw marami cut ang iyung 54 no cut. Ang weird naman mas marami cds iyung maraming cut.

yung Chinese/Malaysian version kasi, kaya 70 cd's sya kasi 45 minutes eac cd sya. yung 54 cd's, uncut din yun pero 1 hour per cd :)

final course is dessert. the queen tastes the fruits and asks choi-sg and jang-geum what they each consider as their best dish today. jang-geum states she was unable to cook the best dish of 'pal-ga-tang' that han-sg wanted, however she made a dish that she considers her own best. jang-geum states it's wild berry dessert and presents the dish. the lady asks why. jang-geum states wild berry is the last food that she washed and fed to her dying mother. her mother, upon eating the berries, left the world with a soft smile on her face. jang-geum states she prepared the food with the love she has for her mother.

the king and the lady is touched by jang-geum's words. the king tries the dessert and states it's delicious and he will not forget her love toward her mother. the king states wild berries are his favorite food. and that jang-geum is the best cook of soo-rak-gan (knife/fork dept. = royal kitchen). the queen is surprised by her son's enthusiasm. the king interrupts and states the results are still in the queen mother's hands. he is merely expressing how impressed he is by the mere servant.

the lady tells the queen she wishes to meet the mentor of such skilled maid. the king concurs he wants to see han-sg. han-sg is brought before the royal family. the queen mother states she will honor her son's joy and states han-sg is the new head of royal kitchen. geum-young and choi-sg are pissed.

Lee Young-ae

Lee Young-ae (b. January 31, 1971) first appeared on television in 1993, but it wasn't until 1995 that she began acting in many TV dramas and gathering a large fan following. She won various television awards in the mid-1990s, and in 1996 she made her film debut in the poorly-received Inch'Allah. The negative reputation this film garnered may have pushed back her film career several years, but when she did return it was with a bang, in the record-breaking Joint Security Area by Park Chan-wook. At the time it became the best-selling Korean film ever, and it launched Lee Young-ae into undisputed stardom.

In 2001 Lee continued to build on her film career, starring in the popular melodrama Last Present opposite Lee Jung-jae, and also in the second feature by Hur Jin-ho, director of the acclaimed Christmas in August. This film was released in late September to great critical acclaim, and it landed Lee a Best Actress award from the local Blue Dragon awards.

min-sg is upset that yun-saeng still hasn't won back the king's favor so takes her outside for 'seductive' breathing and looking exercises. during her absence, the king arrives at yun-saeng's room but finds her gone. the king decides to wait but the guards search for her.
yun-saeng is found and rushed back to her room. by then the king has already left and yun-saeng falls asleep crying. but the king returns and tells her when he first saw her she was crying too. yun-saeng bows before the king. the king dines and wines in her room. yun-saeng remembers min-sg's advice about treating the king and raises her chopstick to try to give him a 'seductive' feeding but she starts mumbling and shaking. the king is amused by her nervous and innocent behavior, and tells her to come close to him. yun-saeng scoots close to the king. the king undresses yun-saeng and caresses her.

at night jang-geum brings out her recipe book and thanks her mother for helping her. master min jung-ho arrive. jang-geum thanks min-jh for helping with han-sg's situation. min states jang-geum was beautiful at the feast today and that her words were beautiful just as well. min: "that beautiful image...it shall stay in my heart deeply for a long time" jang-geum: "if you say it like so then i don't know what to say" (blushing)...haha sino ba nmn ang nde mamu2la???

the king asks jang-geum if she likes min jung-ho. jang-geum replies yes. the king stares at her, tells her he is the king of this nation and asks her if she knows what consequence her answer can lead to. jang-geum replies she knows, and states she is merely a woman who has found medicine to be her livelihood. the king angrily tells jang-geum to show up to their daily morning walk tomorrow as usual.
jang-geum leaves and arrives at min jung-ho's. she nervously tells him what happened and is worried what might happen to min jung-ho. min jung-ho replies she did well and feels proud that she recognized him in front of the king. min-jh says he would rather jang-geum tell the king her true feelings about min-jh and face the fatal consequence than have jang-geum lie about her love and protect min-jh. the king and his guard arrives outside min-jh's office. the king overhears their conversation and becomes furious, then leaves. the head guard coughs to signal they're there. jang-geum and min-jh come outside and see the king leaving. the guard tells them the king wants them both to show up to the walk tomorrow.

next morning, the king puts on a good spirit and asks jang-geum how she and min-jh recognized each other later if they didn't know each other the first time they met. jang-geum replies she left her father's gift to her accidentally when she saved min-jh, and later they were able to recognize each other through the trinket. the king asks to see it. jang-geum replies she doesn't have it and gave it to min jung-ho. the king is taken back (a little jealous) and changes the topic. the king tells the guard to prepare for arrow practice.

the king asks min jung-ho to accompany him in shooting arrows. the king tells min-jh they'll each shoot 5 times. (if min-jh wins, the king will give him his royal bow; if the king wins, min-jh must give the king jang-geum's knife/brush set). min jung-ho obliges since he has no other choice. jang-geum watches as the two men shoot arrows toward a red target. min-jh shoots 4 good ones. the king also gets bulls eye 4 times. the king shoots his 5th arrow and misses the center. just as min-jh is about to draw his 5th, the king tells min-jh he fancies jang-geum and asks if he feels the same about her. min jung-ho shoots his arrow to the bull's eye and replies yes. the king is furious again and grabs his bow and arrow, then points toward min jung-ho. everyone's shocked. the king hesitates then points the arrow toward a flying bird instead and leaves.

Kung meron man talagang naiibang telerserye sa TV, ito ay ang Jewel in the Palace na napapanood Lunes hanggang Biyernes sa GMA, pagkatapos ng StarStruck, the Nationwide Invasion.

Bakit mo ito hindi panonoorin ay wala ito ng mga karaniwan nang napapanood natin na mga kwento ng pag-ibig na pinagugulo ng mga love triangle.

Kwento rin ng pag-ibig ang Jewel, pag-ibig between a mother and her daughter, kwento ng pag-ibig among friends na ginawa sa background ng kusina na kung saan pagalingan sa pagluluto ang ipinakikita.

Si Jang Geum ang bida, protege ni Lady Han, namumuno sa kusina ng palasyo na kinidnap. Mayro’n ding kontrabida sa buhay nila, si Lady Choi na nagawang alisin si Lady Han na sagabal sa mga plano niya.

May isang paligsahan na ginaganap para piliin ang mamumuno sa mga tagapaglingkod sa kusina. Ipinakidnap ni Lady Choi si Lady Han na nagalit ang Inang Reyna dahil si Jang Geum ang pumalit dito sa paligsahan.

Makagawa pa kaya si Jang Geum ng paraan para matulungang mahirang na pinuno si Lady Han? At kailan madidiskubre ang kasamaan ni Lady Choi?

Ai... im soryy forgot to introduce myself. c ginia po 2. frequent viewer ng Jewel in the palace! ang ganda ng show, well, matagal na namn akong mahilig sa mga palace palace/royalty theme shows kaya naki tune in narin ako sa JEwel. At saka I admire the leading character in the story (ang galing kac ng performance niya sa Sympathy for lady vengence) so nung napanood ko na ang JEwel nashock ako sa husay ng portrayal niya kay jang geum, a sweet and chearful woman who faced difficult chalenges because of her passion!

so iyon... hi sa inyo folks!

In episode 54, Jang-geum finds a woman in labor inside the cave. She performs an operation that saves both the woman and her child. Jinjigul Cave is actually man-made. Seongeup-ri Ranch Area in Namjeju-gun (ATV Jeju Joy)
Many of the scenes were filmed on an open range located in Seongeup-ri, Pyoseong-myeon, Namjeju-gun. Filmed here were scenes of Jang-geum carrying the dying Courtier Han on her back and later burying her. This is also where Jang-geum is taken by a military guard to a place of exile on the island. Other scenes shot here were Jang-geum going back to search for Lady Han’s grave, and erecting the tombstone. The scene in episode 6 where Jang-geum climbs down the mountain carrying a golden pheasant was filmed near the temple. The scenes at the stone tomb of Madame Park in episodes 23, 27, 28 were all shot nearby. Finally, in episode 48, Lady Choi asks for forgiveness at Madame Park’s tomb.

'Daejanggeum' fever is consuming the nights of mainland China.

'Daejanggeum', which began broadcasting on Hunan satellite TV on September 1, has catapulted its viewer ratings to 12% in only 10 days, the highest among all TV programs aired at the same time. 12% viewer ratings in China may be considered that of 'a national drama' in Korea. It translates to 160 million sleepless viewers laughing and crying at every line and act of 'Daejanggeum' during its 1 hour and 40 minute airtime starting at 10 PM.

Li Hao, the chief programmer of Hunan satellite TV, expressed his excitement that "its average viewer ratings across all 31 provinces in the nation is increasing by 3% every 3 days, a reaction far surpassing that of 'Emperor's Daughter' which had put the entire China in frenzy a few years back."

Riding piggyback on such enthusiastic response, numerous web portals are running a 'Daejanggeum' special section with a preview of each episode, while newspapers and magazines are featuring 'Daejanggeum' special articles along with self-reproaching columns asking "why can't China produce such a TV series?"

In particular, an article by Beijing Youth drew the attention of many readers. Under the title "China gets addicted to Daejanggeum', it enumerated a list of typical symptoms of a Jang-Geum maniac. For example, their cellular phone ringtone is the Daejanggeum theme song; their computer desks are surrounded by Daejanggeum photographs; their MP3 players are filled with Daejanggeum music; they can sing Daejauggeum songs in Korean for at least 1 minute; and their eyes turn into those of panda from staying up late every night to watch Daejanggeum.

Daejanggeum VHS or CD's have naturally become bestsellers, and the Daejanggeum novel published in May is also selling extremely well. A huge fanclub called Chang Jin Mi has been formed, as well as clubs dedicated to discovering minuscule mistakes in the drama. An increasing number of restaurants are adding 'Jang-Geum dishes' on their menu. Even 'Jang-Geum' bags showed up out of nowhere, and are now a hot fashion item among women.

At the top of all this frenzy, however, is undoubtedly the leading actress Lee Young-Ae. According to media reports, Korean style cosmetic treatment, such as 'Oxygen cosmetics', is in vogue, and plastic surgeons in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai are flooded with young women bringing Lee's picture with them and asking to be transformed like Lee.

Actor Zhang Guo Li, comtemplating on the reason behind Daejanggeum's popularity, commented that "unlike Chinese movies and TV dramas which are increasingly becoming too commercialized, Korean dramas are equipped with a solid storyline, and a beautiful portrayal of love, affection, and good manners."

yung tungkol sa mga berries kung saan humanga ng husto ang hari!

final course is dessert. the queen tastes the fruits and asks choi-sg and jang-geum what they each consider as their best dish today. jang-geum states she was unable to cook the best dish of 'pal-ga-tang' that han-sg wanted, however she made a dish that she considers her own best. jang-geum states it's wild berry dessert and presents the dish. the lady asks why. jang-geum states wild berry is the last food that she washed and fed to her dying mother. her mother, upon eating the berries, left the world with a soft smile on her face. jang-geum states she prepared the food with the love she has for her mother. the king and the lady is touched by jang-geum's words. the king tries the dessert and states it's delicious and he will not forget her love toward her mother. the king states wild berries are his favorite food. and that jang-geum is the best cook of soo-rak-gan (knife/fork dept. = royal kitchen). the queen is surprised by her son's enthusiasm. the king interrupts and states the results are still in the queen mother's hands... he is merely expressing how impressed he is by the mere servant. the lady tells the queen she wishes to meet the mentor of a such skilled maid. the king concurs he wants to see han-sg. han-sg is brought before the royal family. the queen mother states she will honor her son's joy and states han-sg is the new head of royal kitchen. geum-young and choi-sg are pissed.
