VanNess hurt his leg during rehearsal for Genting concert.
However, it didn't affect his performance that night
Enthusiastic encouragement from the fans gave him strength
although it's tough, he managed to successfully complete the whole concert.

As Genting didn't have specialised medical treatment, after returned to Taiwan, brought VanNess to the doctor.
The doctor said his injury is rather severe, request for him to
rest and not to do strenuous activities for the time being.

However, he has many work already scheduled.
After Japan and Korea press con, he has to go Africa for a charity event. Africa's environment may be tough for VanNess due to his injury. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

F3 did send flowers to Ken to encourage him and Ken was very happy.

F4 will be going to Japan, hope Japan and Korea trip will go on smoothly.

Finish the pleasant trip to Japan

F4 experienced two day's dense work and finished the promotion for Taiwan Tourism Bureau in Japan temporarily.

We were surrounded with groups of media and enthusiatics fans all the way from the departure from Taipei on the day of 6th.
Especially at the airport in Japan.
All the fans who had waited for us from the early morning lined up orderly at the arrivals area and followed the instructions from the clerks of the airport. It let us feel your enthusiasm and made the job go on smoothly.

We still accepted many interviews after the press conference today.
It's also successful to produce the programme "SMAP*SMAP".
We felt so happy and funny to join in the short play and games.
F4 had good interactions with SMAP and achieved a lot from the top team in Japan.
The programme will be broadcast on "SMAP*SMAP" next Monday.
I'm expecting for it very much like you.

It was a long time from the press to the end of the continuous recording.
But hundreds of fans still waited there when we finished the jobs. They were so sweet and moving that they always companied us to the end.

We will leave for Korea for the next promotion in several hours.
Thank you for supporting F4 with all your effort.
Hope to meet you again in April in Taiwan.

Despite an injury, Taiwanese heart-throb Vanness Wu put on an energetic show, with slick moves to feet-stomping music.

TAIWANESE singer/actor Vanness Wu heated up the Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands recently in his "Vanness Wu Live In Genting" concert despite an injury sustained during rehearsals.

But if you think that the injury would put an end to his dance moves that night, you are mistaken. He gritted his teeth and pranced so well that you forgave the fact that his vocals left something to be desired, at times, failing to reach the high notes and, more often than not, drowned by the pounding music.

Although it was not a capacity crowd, his die-hard fans from Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and of course, Malaysia, more than made up for it with their enthusiasm and support.

"It was unfortunate that I fell and hurt my leg," he said. "Although I regret that it might not be a 100 per cent performance tonight, I promise that I will still do my best. And it would surely help if there is more screaming!"

Naturally, fans complied heartily, especially when Wu stripped off his shirt to show his well-toned body and abs. Fans stood and waved lighted sticks and sang along.

The music was feet-tapping good and Wu did a great job in grabbing one's attention with his slick moves.

Speaking to his fans in English, the ABC (American-born Chinese) sang both Mandarin as well as English numbers and revealed that he especially practised two numbers by our Michael Wong (Tung Hua/Fairy Tale) and Fish Leong's (Yung Chi/Courage) .

I must say that he did pretty well with both. Other tracks that he sang included Shen Ti Hui Chang Ke (Singing With The Body), Wo Tao Yen Wo Ze Zhi (I Hate Myself) and Zi Mo Kuang Chang (Lonely Plaza).

Of course, it would not be a Vanness Wu concert without the song Liu Xin Yu (Meteor Rain), the theme song of the drama Meteor Garden, which shot Wu and his group F4 to fame.

He also did well with English numbers such as Amazing Grace, Kissing A Fool and I Was Born To Love You, etc.

A lucky fan was chosen to go on stage to be serenaded with Kissing A Fool. Wu very appropriately repeated those three little words "I love you" in different languages during the rendition of I Was Born To Love You.

The special guest for the evening was Nicky Lee, of the Taiwanese group Machi.

Besides singing three solo numbers, the Korean-born, Taiwan-based singer also joined Wu for the closing as well as the encore, where they sang Celebration, A-Niu's – Yung Ma Lai Si Ya De Tian Chi Lai Suo Ai Ni (Saying I Love You with Malaysia's Climate) and, what else, Rasa Sayang.

Wu might need some brushing up where his singing is concerned but he gets full marks for effort.

As F4 goes to Japan and Korea, the four kept a coordinated appearance. Yet however, in order to clearly understand, Jerry and Vanness stays in one room while Zaizai and Ken are in another room. Not only were their suits were colored dark gray and black, even at the airplane seating and hotel accommodation they were into two groups. In addition, during the live interview,they had selected their seating according to their division.

Although F4 says that they all get along well, yet there is still an installed division. When Vanness went solo in his album signing event, Jerry surprisingly appeared to support him, letting Vanness deeply touched. The two was also once photographed together eating hot pot in a restaurant. ZaiZai and Ken once worked together in "Love Storm" they became close and had friendly bonding. This time, as they went to the airport to go to Japan, they rode the same car together and used each other's comb and makeup.

In Japan, the 4 stayed in the executive suite of Cerulean Tower Tokyu, which costs NT$100,000 a night. The entire floor only has two rooms, Jerry and Vanness stayed at the 36th floor while Zaizai and Ken stayed at the 35th floor. At the press con, the 4 are also divided into 2 groups, and even their suits are divided into two colors. Jerry and Vanness were both wearing gray while Ken and Zaizai were wearing black, clearly marking their division. Yesterday as they ended up their Japanese tour, they would proceed to Korea to continue their Taiwan promo. Besides their scheduled press conference, they have also accepted 8 major network and print media interviews.


After Jerry went solo, he changed his manager-consultant again. This time in his Tokyo trip, he had with him Hong Jun Chen (Billy) as his new manager

Still under Genting's spell

I AM not quite sure what my obsession with Genting Highlands is but I absolutely love that place. Perhaps it stems from the fact that it is such a fun place to be.

When younger, it was not close enough to make frequent visits and now that I'm much older and mobile, it's really barely an hour away.

The unfortunate part for me, however, is that many of my friends don't feel the same way.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to spend a night there and obviously, I grabbed the opportunity. I had a hard time convincing friends to come along with me but eventually (with the promise of a free bed and me doing the driving) they relented. I didn't spend much time up there, we got there in time for a quick dinner and then it was time for the Vanness Wu concert we were due to watch. After that, we took a walk around the indoor theme park.

The next morning, we had a quick breakfast and I was determined to play some games. I wasn't so much interested in the outdoor theme park that particular day, recollecting some scary memories.

I was there once in 2003 with a group of colleagues. We spent a couple of nights there which was really fun but the best part really was going on the rides. You see, prior to that, I have always been scared of such rides and the only reason I agreed to join my friends was because of a particular ride I had gone on the year before.

This was at one of the theme parks on the Gold Coast, Australia, during my round the country visit before heading back to KL, after having completed my studies.

Having paid so much money to get in (I really only wanted to visit the house where they shoot Big Brother Australia TV series), I decided I could not leave without trying out a ride.

This ride raises a group of people above a big pool of water and you are clamped down to your seats by this huge bars that come down from your shoulder and right down to your belly.

I met this guy in the queue and he was nice enough to talk me through the whole ordeal. When we were going round and round, the guy – a typical Australian bloke – was kind enough to offer to hold my hand in exchange for me keeping my eyes open.

"You can't miss this view, mate," was his reason. When we were suspended 90 degrees, our body weight all on the bar, it was he who convinced me to let go and hold my hand out a la Superman.

I did and the feeling was amazing. So, when I was in Genting with my colleagues, I carried with me that confidence. I went on the Cork Screw which was a great feeling and

I became brave enough to go on this device, I forget what it is called.

It basically lifts you very, very high up, holds you there for a while before making a free fall drop. It was a blast and I was convinced that I had overcome my fear of thrill rides.

Unfortunately, a visit back in 2005 (my last time there before last weekend – so much for loving the place, huh?) I once again decided to go on that ride. I wanted to experience the same thrill except this time, on my own. All the way up there, I asked myself: "Oh my gosh, what were you thinkiiiiiii…" and before I could finish that thought, I was on my way down, totally unprepared and scared sh**less.

I've not been back on a thrill ride since. So this time round, I was still determined to act like a kid and went around looking for some games to entertain myself with.

My friends and I found ourselves in the arcade section of the indoor theme park and seeing all those games – Street Fighter, Daytona racing and Time Cop – just brought back memories.

My friend and I were talking about the days back in school when we'd play truant (I only did it once, mum!) to head over to the arcade centre in Jaya Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya. At that time, with my allowance, I could only afford a couple of games so what we had to do was be really good so as to keep winning because as long as you don't lose, you're still in the game.

I also remember the days when my uncle from Singapore would want to head up to Genting to have a go at the casino, and my mum would insist that I go along.

Now, I'm not sure if mum sent me there to babysit my uncle, or vice versa but we had the time of our lives.

While he was in there trying to win more money for me to play games (so long as he kept winning, I had stash to keep playing), I was trying to win as much coupons to exchange for a pencil box, or a soft toy. Not quite the same thing, but I've never been a gambling kind of person anyway.

The best part however for me has always been the cold weather because then it really felt like I was away from home.

I always made it a point to walk about and take in the fresh air. Of course, the best way was really by taking the taxi down – the windows are never down, and the drivers always drove as if they were going to drive over the ledge which ensured that we got a cold blast of air in our face all the way down. Hmm... maybe that's why I've got such a phobia of thrill rides.

Laden with honors, F4 Jerry Yan, Zaizai and Ken Zhu minus Vannes returned to Taiwan yesterday aboard Chian Airlines flight CI161, at ease and relaxed as they accomplished their mission to promote Taiwan tourism in Japan and Korea. The usually nervous Jerry Yan finally smiled when he saw his fans at the airport, Zaizai also received gifts from welcoming fans, while Ken's appeared in a dim-mood with his sunglasses. Jerry originally planned to take a later flight but decided to join F2 and Vanness who would transit to HK to go to Africa for a charity event. Earlier night in Seoul there was a open barbecue banquet. Zaizai went to quickly drink and eat Korean barbecue and then returned to Ken in the Hotel for some chat before he dozed off from exhaustion. Jerry was too tired to go and just returned to the hotel while Vanness were out with a friend.

On returning to Taiwan, Jerry seemed happier. After media wrote about his sad face, he was already smiling when he returned yesterday and expressed that after finishing this mission, he is more relaxed, "After this experience, next time I can do better."

F3 Returns to Taiwan after Tourism Promotion

As the Spokesmen for the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan, F3 returns yesterday afternoon ending a 5-day Japan and Korean Promotional trip.

With astounding responses from Japan and Korea, F4 even had the media momentarily reduced to ‘frantic fans’. During an exclusive interview, a Korean female host was ecstatic. She greeted F4 with such a ‘high decibel’ enthusiasm that she shocked F4 and grabbed Vanness Wu asking, ‘Remember me?’ F4 agrees in unison that Japanese fans are more demure and tails them throughout whilst the Koreans fans are more passionate and screams of ‘F4’ abound everywhere they went. A crowd of fans sent them off at the Airport but had a row with security as they attempted to cross the security boundaries.

In promoting Taiwan’s Tourism, F4 did 8 and 10 exclusive interviews in Japan and Korea respectively. As the schedule was very hectic, all the questions were very similar. The most asked of F4 was, ‘Where is the most enjoyable place in Taiwan?’ They effectively replied to the questions by taking turns to answer saving time and energy. It was already 9 pm when all came to an end. Everyone felt that Zai Zai appears thinner with his short hair. He frankly admitted that he did lose some weight due to the death of Xu Wei Lun and the media’s unfair handling. But I was shooting ‘Mei Wei Guan Xi’ so I couldn’t and that is why I immediately cut it off when filming wrapped.’

He will be volunteering with Charlie Yeung for the Children’s Foundation. Thank everyone for caring.
Vanness was hurt when he attended the rehearal for the Malaysian concert.
It's fortunate that it didn't influence the performance that night.
Fans' warm encouragement gave him the power to prop up to the end. He finished the whole concert hard but successfully.

Because there are no excellent doctors and medical facilities on Gentling, we took Vanness to the doctor's after we came back Taiwan.
The doctor said his hurt was not slight and asked him to have more rest and stop any explosive motor behavior.

But so much work has been arranged for him in consequence.
After Japanese and Korean press conference, Vanness will take part in some charity activities in Africa. The terrible environment in Africa will make hurted Vanness double pain. So let's pray for him to be all right soon.

I posted some pictures of Ken's Japanese concert to share with you .
F3 all presented flower baskets to him. He was so happy.


F4 will set off to Japan tomorrow together.

F4 experienced two day's dense work and finished the promotion for Taiwan Tourism Bureau in Japan temporarily

We were surrounded with groups of media and enthusiatics fans all the way from the our departure from Tai Bei on the day of 6th.
Especially at the airport in Japan.
All the fans who had waited for us from the early morning lined up orderly at the arrivals area and followed the instructions from the clerks of the airport. It let us feel your enthusiasm and made the job go on smoothly.


We still accepted many interviews after the press conference today.
It's also successful to produce the programme "SMAP*SMAP".
We felt so happy and funny to join in the short play and games.
F4 had good interactions with SMAP and achieved a lot from the top team in Japan.
The programme will be broadcast on "SMAP*SMAP" next Monday.
I'm expecting for it very much like you.


It was a long time from the press to the end of the continuous recording.
But hundreds of fans still waited there when we finished the jobs. They were so sweet and moving that they always companied us to the end.


We will leave for Korea for the next promotion in several hours.

Come back to Taiwan from Korean

We left Japan for Korean, and we were still welcomed by hot and kind fans.
Just like the words at the press conference, it was quite cold in Korean and the airport is far away from the urban area, but the fans went there all the way to show their support. Here thanks a lot, everyone.

Today Jerry, Ken, VIc and most of the clerks arrived in Taiwan safely.
After a short rest, we will continue the case for Tourism Bureau and contribute for Taiwan's sightseeing.
Everyone in our team including F4 to any member feels it is a pride and a duty.
Then we will fight for more promotions and activities in related. We will make effort and also expect all the fans continue to go in for such a meaningful case.

As for VanNess, he will fly from Korea to Hongkong today and meet another artist, Yan Caini, and take the flight to Africa to have some charity visits there together.


We know the fans' worries about VenNess's injury very much. But as a responsible and hardworking artist, VanNess isn't willing to influence the team plan because of his incidence. He insists on leaving with the team as the original plan.
We've had them shot the immunization inocultation and prepare enough medical materials. Let's wish them to be peaceful and successful during the whole visit and expect VanNess to share the precious information what he sees , hears and feels.

Taiwanese band hope to draw Korean tourists

Taiwan's hottest boy band, F4, visited Korea last week for the first time to promote their home country as a tourist destination.

Recently appointed as Taiwan's goodwill ambassador by Taiwan's tourism authorities, the quartet includes Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu. They appear to be excited about their new project: making young Korean fans future travelers to Taiwan.

"I was so deeply impressed by the Korean fans' passionate outpouring of attention for us at the airport, I felt like I was on stage," Wu said in a news conference at a Seoul hotel last Friday. "The Taiwanese are passionate people, just like the Koreans, so I believe they will be good friends with each other," added Wu, who joined with Korean pop superstar Kangta to form the duo Kangta & Vanness to record an album last year.

The band members rose to fame as actors through "Meteor Garden," a Taiwanese teen soap opera based on a Japanese manga "Hana Yori Dango (men are better than flowers)" in 2001. The name of the band, F4, is short for "Flower four," which is the name the four handsome boys went by in the series.

F4 has become a household name in Asia ever since. In the same year, they signed a record deal with Sony and have released two hit albums, "Meteor Rain" and "Fantasy 4ever."

"Taiwan is a beautiful island country," said Yan who started his entertainment career as a model. "I strongly recommend you to visit the National Palace Museum when traveling Taiwan. Kaohsiung, the second largest city, also has many notable tourist attractions," continued Yan who served in the Taiwanese army.

Although the group had not been together for a while, each pursuing a solo career, they still seemed to have a lot more to show as a team, including their first concert in Korea. "Our agency is contacting Korean agents. I hope that all four of us will be able to see you again at a concert," said Chou, who worked with Korean actress Park Eun-hye last year in the Hong Kong television drama "Silence."

"It was fun to work with her. I also like So Ji-seop (the star of KBS drama "I am Sorry, but I Love You") because he has eyes with single eyelids, just like Vanness," he joked. Wu, on the other hand, showed great interest in Korean action films.

"I wish I could act together with Kwon Sang-woo ("My Tutor Friend") someday and also with Ryu Seung-Beom, the star of 'Arahan,'" said Wu who appeared with a cane because of his sprained foot. Some of his fans seemed to almost feel his pain as their own, but he made their hearts lighter by cheerfully saying "Jigeumeun Gwaenchanayo," or I'm okay now.

"I have been familiar with Korean culture and language from when I was very young," said Wu, a powerful and charismatic rapper, who claims to be a close friend of such renowned K-pop stars as Shin Hye-sung, Kim Jo-han (former singer of R&B trio Solid) and Lee Ji-hoon.

As a goodwill ambassador, the group will also be involved in the production of a 25-part television series titled "Wish to See you in Taiwan," sponsored by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau. "Try ma la huo guo in Taiwan, which is Taiwanese-style hot and spicy shabu shabu. And don't miss mango sherbet," said Chu, a multi-talented artist who speaks five languages.

The Asian heartthrobs left for Taiwan on Saturday, after three in the country.

Johnny Entertainment's heavenly group SMAP has their own variety show "SMAP x SMAP" for 10 years now, with non-stop fame and had maintained its high TV viewership of more than 20%, their guest list included huge stars from every country promoting in Japan like Madonna, Rain, Andy Lau, etc., to perform in their program. A few days ago, as F4 went to Japan to promote Taiwan tourism, F4 guested with host Kimura in a short spoof on "Meteor Garden", with Shingo Katori as the big mouth Shan Cai.

Its the first time for SMAP and F4 in the same stage. Breaking the language barriers, they jointly acted in the short classic scene where DMS bullied Shan Cai and spoofed it. Kimura played a famous TV Ad Producer and gave instructions to Jerry's acting. Shingo playing "Shan Cai" was even clad with braided hair, that brought in more laughter.


Fencing Sword strings up the glutinous rice balls

All these big guys then came in to play "Fencing Sword Threading the Glutinous Rice Balls" game. Ken and the foot-injured Vanness also danced along Ken Shimura's classic TV ad dance steps. Finally, Kou Wen producers and Kimura declared " From now on, it's F4 generation!" in honor of their 4 handsome Taiwanese guests. That episode will be shown in Japan sometime in April.

March22 ng madaling araw...reminiscin HK days.. by this tym waiting kami sa Yellow gate till end ng rehearsal,so pag dating sa backdoor since me ang nahuli sa pagpunta dun,me yung nasa unahan ng pila so pedeng pede ko na ipagbukas si Vann ng pinto ng van,i was able to say hi to Wendy and she replied a sweet hello, si Vann ang pinaka huling bumaba ng Vann hay so gorgeous... i was able to hold his arm by that tym... pro pinaka swerte lagi si vannvann & Luna... Great encounter din itong HK Concert kasi everyday namin sila nakikita...kasi lagi kami sa venue...and masaya kasi dami namin nakilala ....mga japanese friends and still may contacts pa din kami till now... yung mga maka Van Ness na meet namin ulit sa Genting.
Wala na yatang katapusan addiction... the more mag reminice... lalong nabubuhayan.... ahahahaha...

After the events, VanNess flew to Hong Kong to make use of his free time to rest and relax plus meeting up with his good friend Jaycee (Jacky Chan's son) to go clubbing at Lan Kwai Fong till around 4am that night (seems making full use of his precious time in Hong Kong). After parted with his friends, VanNess did not head back direct to his hotel but was found 'shopping' for food and drinks at a 7-Eleven outlet located at Tsim Sha Tsui with his assistant. He seems rather still full of energy and even bought a Tabloid Magazine. A good mood VanNess spotted the media who had been following him, end up posing at the camera with a 'v' sign at them for quite some time to enable the media to take pictures of him to their hearts' content After being in the shop for a while, VanNess finally left the place with his assistant and head back to the hotel to rest!

Smap x Smap is finalized to broadcast on 16 April.

As promised before, let's talk abt some interesting stuff abt the show.

If u ask are F4 nervous to go on Smap's show?

At the recording studio, all 4 of them were busy learning Japanese from their translators. How to say hello to Smap in Japanese, how to greet the audiences in front of the tv.
Trying to learn as much Japanese in the shortest period of time.

Feelings of nervousness are cast aside.

Filming took around 6-7 hours.
Filmed parts by parts in different locations, totally without NG.

U can imagine how interesting the show will be.

Starting with a skit from Meteor Garden.
Following the usual Smap x Smap traditon, it's a hilarious version.

After that, a game which F4 had to dance (showthread.php?p=664275#). Moustache dance? No idea...

Then, they played pierce the "dango" game. The team that failed loses the game and as punishment, had to eat various kind of weird flavours of dango. The 4 of them ate.

As for the other party, of coz we didn't let them off. haha...

Ok, let's talk abt their work shedules.

This week, F4 filmed a commercial for Taiwan tourism.

After that, Zaizai will be in Japan for a fans meeting session for his website on 6 & 7 April.

VanNess new album is confirm to be released on 20 April.
When he's free, he will also share his experiences in Africa.

Ken is currently preparing for his new solo album, hoping to present new elements in it.

VanNess Wu Danced Intimately With A Female Dancer Despite Of His 'Seemed Forgotten' Leg Injury

F4's VanNess had became the 1st artiste using a walking stick to perform songs and dance at Malaysia's Genting! 3rd of March, VanNess beared the pain of his leg injury and proceeded on time for his 'VanNess Wu Malaysia Concert' with the aid of White Walking Stick, Sterilization Injection and Will Power to fulfill a 2-hour performance.

VanNess' Malaysia concert at Genting had attracted fans from at least 8 regions in Asia! At the beginning of the concert, VanNess appeared to perform the song 'Body Can Sing', the screaming fans did not noticed anything wrong with him and thought the walking stick is just a prop he used for the stint. After the song is done, VanNess then explained to the fans that he was injured during rehearsal just hours before the concert.

Initially, the doctor had advised VanNess to cancel his concert as he need to stay in the hospital for further treatment on the injury but VanNess insisted to proceed with the concert performance with the aid of a walking stick. So the doctor had to give VanNess an injection to sterilize the injury to ease the pain. Being a perfectionist, at such critical situation, VanNess had brillantly managed to invent dance moves using the walking stick to blend-in to his performance as the show went on, but the injury was quite obvious when he had to walk up/down the stairs and at some other areas on stage where he is not able to move, run or dance freely. But when came to dance tracks, he even occasionally putting down the walking stick or 'playing' with it while dancing, putting on his best and it worked, making him looked good too! His crew even thought that VanNess had been trained to do such 'stunts' with the walking stick but VanNess laughing said, 'I can 'play' along using the walking sticks quite smoothly as since young, I am quite obsessed playing with the kungfu weapon 'shuang jie gun' (Bi-Stick - weapon commonly used by Bruce Lee in his movies)

As the concert went on, VanNess seemed to forget that he has injury and continue to perform further with various stage images such as punkhair-look, doing robotic dance, even using Oriental beat for his performance! Towards the end of the show, VanNess dressed in Crystal-Studded Jacket + Jeans and together with his special gues, Nicky Lee, they performed a medley of Hip-Hot Hits!
