Something unexpected happened to me a few minutes ago.

To the two people who I angered earlier... I'M SORRY. To be honest, it wasn't my intention for the question to be sarcastic or rude. I was just... Asking. That's all.

sorry delayed post! but in case some of you haven't read it...this was when F4 went to Japan...

The unbelievable story happened at Taipei airport! It was during my trip to Japan with China Airlines (BKK-TPE-NRT). Unfortunately, I stuck at Taipei airport for a night because my flight was delayed.

Poor me!! my suitcase was on the plane and could not be offloaded!!! And because I didn’t have Taiwan visa (coz didn’t plan to travel here), it made me became like a prisoner. The area that I was allowed to stay was within the airport only. That morning, I didn’t shower, brush my teeth and had no money at all. I felt very moody coz I was starving and thirsty!! And the most important thing was that I would miss Xiaotian’s event at Osaka. I was completely down and tired.......

I walked to Gate A9, sat at the last row.........and cried........

Out of the blue, there was a group of people walking very fast toward me. They put all their stuff right by my side. As I was in very bad mood, I looked up, wondering “There are plenty of rooms and vacant chairs. How come you have to put all your stuff here??? Leave me alone, plssssssss”.

I turned my face away and then realized something. Immediately, I turned back to look again at the man who was walking toward my direction. OMG!!!!!!! His skin so white.......couldn’t believe my own eyes.....he couldn’t be nobody else........Vanness......right........Vanness was standing in front of my face.

Gosh!!!!! but.......no screams........coz I was totally in shock.....what should I do??? Tears were all over my face, my eyes were red, my face swelled. I didn’t take a bath or brush my teeth....okay.......I was stink!!! I immediately turned my face back another way, thinking to myself “is this real, or am I dreaming?” So, I looked at him again "is that really Vanness? Gosh!!!! That definitely is Vanness” He was in tight white T-shirt, wearing cap, very smart and firm!!!!!!!!!!



You guys must be wondering what I did next. I couldn’t think of any word to speak. Last minute my spirit was extremely low but now Vanness was right in front of me !! I started playing with my shirt and thinking what to do next? Vanness then walked back to his crews. I eavesdropped on their conversation and heard that they were going to take a plane to Hong Kong at gate A8. But the crews wanted him to sit here coz gate A8 was so crowded.

After the talking, all of them walked back to where I sat. I looked up again and saw the crews’ face expressions........telling me that......"You should move to some place else” As I was shocked and unconscious, I carried my bag on my shoulder and stood up.

Then, the voice, that I never expected to hear, said to me "#&#^*(&)*_(&&%^%" (it was in Chinese, couldn’t remember what he said exactly.) But overall meaning was “You don’t have to move. You can sit here”

Arkkkkkkkkkkkkk..I was shocked!!!! What should I do? Should I move or just sit here? Vanness must be puzzled out by my reaction. I think he thought that I didn’t understand Chinese, so he changed the language to English automatically. (Sorry again, couldn’t remember what he said).

Well, it was time for me to say something back to him. So, I said in Chinese “It’s alright” and stood up coz I wanted him to have a seat.

Okay, don't be panic. I didn’t move so far away, just only 1 seat coz I wanted him to sit by my side (ha ha ha). He seemed to know what I was thinking, so he smiled and walked to me !!!!........then he sat.........sat........just next to me. The distance between us could be counted in centimeter (of course it was less than Jerry’s yi gong chi). Oh gosh!!!!! He was so white and his skin looked so softttttttt.


Again, I kept quiet and looking at my feet. Didn’t know what to say or do. I didn’t have courage to even look at his face. And I heard his voice saidto me “Are you going to take this flight?” (He meant the flight at Gate A9). I was back to my original low mood coz I really did not know my destiny. “wo bu zhi dao (I don’t know) I have been waiting all night long........delay delay delay delay” (I mumbled to myself. I think my face at that time was like a lost girl)........then guess what!!!!!!!! Vanness said “aaaaaah!!!!!! , I see” and he rubbed his eyes (like when a kid cries). I think he wanted to say “that’s why you cry, right?” arkkkkkkkkkkkk............I thought I was going to faint!!!!

Then we both were quite. Vanness tried to find something in his bag and his crew told him it was time to leave. I turned my face just to look at him for the last time. I thought my moment with him must end like this. Actually, this was enough coz it was too good to be true. But it was not the end yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unexpectedly, he turned back to me and waved his hand “Goodbye, take care” he said. Again I was in shocked for a few seconds. “Bye bye.........” I said. And he left...............

After he was gone.......I was back in the dark. My only feeling at that time was I really wanted to get out of this airport!!

Later that morning, I flied to Japan. I was very glad coz didn’t want to stay at Taipei airport any longer. Thinking that only 3 hours I would be in Japan made me very excited!!! (I forgot Vanness for about 3 minutes) While I was on board, I started to ask myself........was that really Vanness, was it him???

Time flied by, I was in Japan.......didn’t surf the web or read any news about F4.......Vanness was faded away from my memory coz everyday I met only Tucky’s or Takuya’s face.

Finally, it was time for me to fly back to BKK. I had to visit Taipei airport again. This time everything was smooth. Anyway, faith has destined me to walk pass that chair. Suddenly, I felt like I was a computer attacked by virus. I felt like I was getting sick. All the memories of Vanness flied back to me simultaneously. I turned back to look at that chair again, but I have to run; or else I would miss my flight.

While I was on the plane......my heart started to cry out

"Vanness.......arrkkkkkkkkkk.....Vannesss........I met Vannessss........Vannesssssssssss............Vannesssssssssssssssss"

(I think my conscious is delayed much more than China Airlines)

Well, this is my moment with Vanness. Today I still want to hit my head against the wall. How come I just sat there and kept quite!?!?

Lastly, this is a message I want to tell everybody loud and clear “I’m falling for Vanness!!!” is not too late, right?

As everyone knows, F4 visited Tokyo in a very hot season. Now, after
they left Tokyo, the country became hotter. Eveywhere you see within
the vicinity of Tokyo, you feel the presence of F4. Fabulous F4 hot items
are on sale and even the DVD of their films and concerts/shows have become
in demand, and in fact have increased their sales. But eventhough, consumers
never heard of any complaints because of its good quality.

A lot said that the recent on-sale F4@Tokyo Photobook is very expensive.
Not all students afford the price, but they still saved from their allowances
just to be able to have a copy of the once-in-a-lifetime souvenir from
Taiwan-based superstars, F4. There is only one comment from a Japanese
fan when a poster of F4 was exposed in one of the stores nearby, "those 4 people
are cute, but if they wear black suit, they shouldn't be wearing white shoes"

There are also some observations from other fans who have bought their own
copies of F4@Tokyo. The shot in Shibuya had a perfect ambience, the
shot of Vanness in throwing of the stones also was perfectly done, he has the
good face that matches the whole atmosphere. But Outside the location seems
to be not well-recognized like the shot in Shinjuku Shanghai where the place
became small in the picture, but otherwise, the photobook was perfectly done.

Truly, since the time F4 released the controversial photobook, F4 already
captured the hearts of the Japanese females and students elsewhere are unstoppable
from comparing their own F4 collections.

One Japanese fan came back and forth just to see the movie starring F4
member. Upon entering the Shibuya Store also of the Hongkong F4
Store for the first time, was shocked to see the crowd. The store was
so full of people, she was even scratched by some because of its
full-packed store shopping for F4 stuff.

There is also a guidebook on Video with Hip HOp Vanness with
photograph also. In the F4 museum, sold out of posters and post cards
have been witnessed.

Celebrating his 27th birthday last weekend, Vanness was overwhelmed by his fans all over asia. He was not expecting
to receive affectionate greetings from his fans. He also did receive many gifts from his fans which he thought
as normal thing to do by the fans who voice out their feelings and support by means of showering him with presents
on this special occasion.

Think about how much mail the average person gets, then multiply that by ten (imagining 10 of you). Celebrities
get a lot of mail- even if you don't count mail from the fans. Think about all the paperwork they must read,
contracts, scripts, invoices, invitations, business proposals, personal mail, memorization of lyrics for song
albums etc. On top of that, they must work to make money, and most celebrities have very hectic schedules, often
traveling or pulling 16 hour- days on set/studio. Reading and answering all mails could take hours per day, that is
why most have help in that area, especially fan mails. On top of just letters, celebrities also receive
lots of gifts and not just from fans. Like in the recent Birthday of Bond or MeiZuo who is still has not forgotten
his name in famous Meteor Garden and Star Runner, he gets items from movie promoters, film festivals, endorsements,
manufacturers sending free products hoping for endorsements plus things from friends and relatives. Needless
to say, it is possible that the mail could pile up and/or be read by an assistant in order to keep up with it.

From what other fans know, Vanness Wu does not respond to mailed requests for autographs or other such requests.
The plan and simple fact is that a lot of Vanness fans who have sent requests for autographs and no one has ever
gotten one through the mail, or maybe few only. He would probably much rather sign them in person as they are
more meaningful anyway. He is very agreeable to autographs in person and will even go out of his way to
greet fans and sign autographs. That is just the way Vanness Wu is; more of a face-to-face kind of guy. But, it
even hurts to ask by mail if you have your mind set on it, as long as you know ahead of time that there is a slim
chance of getting a response. When requesting an autograph, you should send the photo or item
for him to sign along with a self-addressed stamped envelope for return postage.

For Vanness, he treats his fans with high respect, as much as possible with regards to the gifts he gets, he
doesn't tolerate fans spending loads of pennies just to be able to give him a special gift.
According to him, he understands the demands of the fans, but if he were a fan, it wouldn't be as thrilling as
watching one celebrity personally sign the copy for him.

Vanness Wu appreciates gifts from his fans, but of course, he doesn't have time to acknowledge these things.
You can take comfort in the fact that he has a room in his house just for storing things like these
and according to him, he doesn't throw nor give away things given to him by his fans even if it means
"he already has everything" according to him, "I don't throw special meaningful things away, especially from the
fans who exert effort to support me in this way. But my advice to the fans is to not spend too much money because
you might get frustrated if I don't and can't personally thank you. But I am sure you know that I acknowledge
everything my fans do and give. THe most treasured things I receive are those meaningful hand-ful paintings
personally done by them, it's just too personal that stores special place in my heart."

Vanness Fans Club or even F4 Fans club usually does a gift once a year for his birthday and one during Christmas season.
They contribute message clips, poetry books, christian books and even joke books from fans all over the world.
A postcard album also with all Vanness Wu pictures from past to present. This is a good way to get a sentiment across
without having to take the time and money to send a gift yourself. Fan clubs don't get any special treatment over
other mail, but a group gift can help reduce the amount of mail Vanness or assistants has to go through and still
get the same messages across.

Miracles do happen. One fan club member (who fail to disclose identity) said she joined numerous vanness clubs
in the internet as such :Vanness-korea, sunshine-vanness, onlyvanness, Vannesshome, lovevanness, Vanness blog Japan,
vanness and we and only f4 to get updated with Vanness & had written to
Vanness through Sony numerous times with various requests and she thought he would never respond. In fact, he never
expected he would, until one day. It was not a kind of attention-getting letter either. It was a simple letter
with goodluck, special messages written in a plain white business sized envelope, nothing fancy nothing extra ordinary.
She had attached a picture of Vanness with her and she wanted to make it more memorable so she sent the said picture
for vanness to sign. After 1 1/2 years of waiting, she then suddenly received a mail. It was simple, in big size
white envelope, with autograph of Vanness at the back of the picture, with a simplest note on a separate piece of
paper that says : "I remember you!"
This just proves that he reads mails, he answers mails, but you just have to be patient. He is just
too busy. For him, his fans may be of a high priority to him, but he probably feels the best way to
please his fans is to work and not just to sit down at home and read mail.

There is an on going for sale album of F4, featuring Vanness in Body Will Sing the solo concert. The said concert was a very memorable one for him. In this video, you will see him singing, dancing and combination of song and dance to the fullest capacity.
One fan had a copy of this concert video and his love for the group, F4 has increased especially when during Vanness concert, 3 men appeared at the back. Obviously, these were Jerry, Ken and Vic. It was obvious also on the video that Vanness was really very close to Vic. You could see the closeness of the 4. They are not only good in accepting supporting from the fans, they also support each other's achievements and accomplishments, for them, they are F4, Freinds4Life, Forever4. This video will also have its catchy scene especially during his performance with Imagining 10 of You when he obviously cried while delivering the song. Others said the reason for his tears was heartache. He also performed Sick, then the group sang My Friend.

Vanness is fabulous when performing in extreme dance at the center of the stage, full of vigor, charm and sooth voice. He also sang an english song but the title is not recognized with the tune so others not familiar with the song are unknown with its title. it was the feeling which you sing well enough but yet the
fans are not accustomed to it. Furthermore, the Body will Sing Concert Edition has a Chinese, there is no Japanese subtitle, majority cannot understand intermission speeches. There is also a special additional clip when Vanness was asked to close his eyes and on the monitor appeared his family and greeted him. He was floated with tears.

Interviewer: When you first met F4, how did you feel toward them?

Mr. Mu: First, I noticed all of them are tall and long-legged. I have had much opportunity to take pictures of Japanese young stars, but, to tell the truth, I was amazed that they are really cool.

I: Every one is over 180 cm high !!

Mr.Mu: When they wear a suit they are really cool! That's great!

I: Do they have a kind of special impression?

Boy bands are still in business

As passé as they might be, boy bands have undeniably made quite a mark in Taiwan’s idol-based music industry. Among the more popular groups is K One. THAM AI MEI ponders the future of boy band power.

Blame it on the Beatles – they were probably the ones who started the boy band mania. The sight of girls screaming and having fainting spells upon seeing their favourite boy bands is nothing new.

In the past decade, boy band fever has spread to Asia as well. Taiwan, in particular, has a knack of churning out baby-faced band members who sell records by the hundreds of thousands even with little talent. An unfair statement? Listen to some of them and judge for yourself.

Even as the trend of forming boy bands seems to be fading, there are still a number of groups that are sticking around with relentless tenacity.

What do people in the Malaysian music industry think of popular boy bands?

“I don’t think there are any hot boy bands anymore,” opines Kong Pik Shi, who is a marketing executive with Music Street. “If you consider May Day as a boy band then it is much better than F4 and Energy.”

According to Kong, K One is one of the better bands.

“There is 5566 and it used to be hot,” she adds.

Yong King Lieng, assistant promotions manager of eq music, says: “Actually, there are many new boy bands from Taiwan such as B.A.D., Tension and Nan Quan Ma Ma.”

Here is a look at some of the Taiwanese boy bands.

May Day is an award-winning pop rock group that is arguably one of the more talented bands around. The group of five is renowned for its loud, noisy brand of rock and youthful vibrancy.

While the boys have regular boy-next-door looks, they are nevertheless admired for making pop accessible to the youths in Taiwan.

Energy, on the other hand, has been facing a decline in popularity, no thanks to the departure of its most popular band member – Toro. Nonetheless, the band still has a small but loyal following amongst the Taiwanese teeny boppers.

And there is F4, which stands for Flower Four. To understand the extent of this foursome’s inexplicable appeal, you have to know that this bunch of well-built, smooth-skinned artistes have been accused of being “electronic heroin” to impressionable teenagers in China as girls were reported to have fainted and screamed uncontrollably at the sight of them.

The Chinese authorities were so worried about the mania the group would cause that they cancelled a few of F4’s concerts.

The group’s TV series, Meteor Garden, was banned after six episodes were aired on TV because parents thought that the boys’ characters in the show would set a bad example for their children.

Surely, members Vic Chou, Ken Zhu, Vanness Wu and Jerry Yen can’t be all that bad, given their angelic looks and beautiful hair.

“I don’t think I have ever known people who could be so perfect,” enthuses an F4 fan, S.C. Lee.

“The best thing about the group is that the members each has a different personality. You can find a strong and macho type in the group as well as a soft-spoken, gentle one,” she adds.

K One, comprising cherubic boys Gino, Darren, Kido, JR and Li Yang, recently launched an album.

Its debut album We R K One garnered mixed reviews. Fans loved their R&B tunes and love ballads while critics accused them of imitating Energy.

The members of 5566 are also making full use of their looks. The four remaining members (Rio Pang left the group after meeting an accident) recently starred in TV series Mr Fighting: Fighting for Love.

The group also starred in Taiwanese soap operas West Side Story and My MVP Valentine and has two albums – Boyfriend Bang Ai (Boyfriend’s Good Love) and C’est Si Bon – under its belt.

Tension is a cutesy quintet that churns out smooth R&B tunes and does synchronised dancing.

Perhaps, the one thing that puts Tension, comprising Andy, Raymond, Brian, Jimmy and John, ahead of other boy bands is that it has R&B maestro David Tao as mentor.

B.A.D clinched a recording contract soon after taking part in a band contest in the United States and it now has two albums in the market.

Other boy bands to look out for include Jay Chou-backed Nan Quan Ma Ma and rap group Machi that are noted for their hip hop style.

While the demand for boy bands seems to be fizzling out, music fans can hardly forget The Little Tigers (Xiao Hu Dui in Mandarin) and LA Boyz – arguably two of the most popular Taiwanese boy bands in the mid-90s.

The Little Tigers comprising Alec Su, Benny Chen and Nicky Wu had all the requisite good looks, agile dance moves and passable vocals. Their success formula was based on the 1980s Japanese boy band sensation Shonentai and Taiwanese fans lapped up the Tigers’ radio friendly music.

Wu soon decided to go solo and the trio split up in 1995 after 11 successful albums.

Taiwanese-American rap group LA Boyz with members Stanley Huang, Steven Lin and Jeff, caused quite a stir with its brand of westernised rap music and oodles of American charm.

Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 1996 and a few of its members went on to establish themselves once again in the music scene. Huang has launched several successful solo albums while Lin and Jeff formed Machi.

Pure fluff some boy bands might be, but who would laugh at them knowing that most already have millions in the bank at an age when ordinary folks are still toiling for their retirement fund.

Chinese Wave appears on the scene this summer
Introduction to Taiwan super unit - F4!

Korea Wave is calming down, currently Chinese star boom is sweeping across Japan, which is named "Faryu (Chinese Wave)" The captain leading the charge is Taiwan F4, formed by four gorgeous men.

F4, starting from Taiwan and all members of height 180 cm, have come to Japan!

F4 are already busy big stars in other Asian countries. They are currently making it big in Japan too. Starting from Taiwan, they are now basking in the limelight in Japan because of Meteor Garden, a TV version of Japanese manga "Hana yori Dango". Their Japan official fan club has finally been established.

"I'm really glad that F4, a group born from Japanese manga, has come to the final stop of Asian market. All of us are grateful for the support we receive from Japan fans." Vanness said.

Vanness was raised in America. He is actively participating in movies and TV dramas and is the key member in F4 music. Here are some words Vanness and Vic, who is the idol inside F4, said in the interview.

"Star Runner, the movie I starred, will open for public viewing on Aug 10. It was my first movie challenge. You will see a different me who you have never seen before!"

Movies of other F4 members, starring Jerry Yan and Ken Chu respectively, have already been shown. Each member has been working busily on his own in movies, dramas, and music. It is almost like a miracle to gather them together to shoot a photo book.

"I had gone to the gym for preparation of the photo book, I thing the result was good. I really love the four of us working together! I felt tremendous amount of energy exuded when we worked together again. Conversely, we also shared the pressure together. I hope we stay as good partners and wonderful friends in the future." said Vic with a cute smile.

on screen, the film is near completion and should be ready for a September 2005 release date in Hong Kong.

How F4 sustained Success despite of Going Solos?

A Group of BOys is a style of somewhat to mostly pop group featuring about between 3 or 5 young male, but normally 5. But for this time, a four-grouped boys evolve in the universe of Asia.

Equally important to the group's commercial success is the group's image, carefully controlled by managing all aspects of the group's clothing, promotional materials which are supplied to different magazines), and video clips. Typically, each member of the group will have some distinguishing feature and be portrayed as having a particular personality stereotype - such as "the baby" "the bad boy" the "nice boy" the "character", the "hippie out going" . The baby being Vic Zhou, the Bad Boy being Jerry Yan in relation to his bad boy image in Meteor Garden, The character being Ken (self-explanatory) and the hippie outgoing type being Vanness.

In most cases, their music is written, arranged and produced by a producer who works with the band at all times and controls the group's sound, image if necessary to the point of hiring session singers to record guide vocals for each member of the group to sing individually (if the members cannot harmonize together well)

Some fans consider their music to be in some cases brilliant, the commercial success of specific group does not tend to last long. But indeed, with F4, no matter how separately they work, their existence still evolve and fans seek more and more. F4 sustained their success for straight years. It does happen that when you are in a group, often one or more or the group itself decides to leave and seek a solo career, particularly if they have the talent ability, and with F4, they have sustained their SOLO success!

this was a 3 hour radio broadcast last aug.6 , saturday evening in honor of vanness.
Vanness Radio Music Party. I found this at sony taiwan website, letters to vanness section. It featured b-day greetings/messages ,vanness and f4 songs,replay of vanness as fm radio dj. nice to hear him even if he spoke in chinese and i don't understand. prominently played was: "because i love you so," also played let it be ,starrunner's vanness humming,and many more.

The miracle four years later

F4 finally step up their activities in Japan
Miracle "4 shot"

It has been over 4 years since April 21, 2001 the day TV series "Meteor Garden" first aired in Taiwan. As F4 have built up a brilliant career, each is now very active in their own solo careers. It has become very rare for them to work together. So, now four years later, it's like a miracle to see them appear together in Japan. We thought we should commemorate it and mark this moment in our own way. We feature them as the cover story of the very first issue of this magazine and write a special report on them.

Part 1: Vanness and Vic - latest exclusive photos and interview

Standing in front of the door of a house studio located on the Nan Gang Street in Taipei city, I press the intercom button and hear a "kacha" sound of unlocking the door. I open the glass door which is a little heavy and enter inside. In the dim light is a flight of stairs leading to the 2nd floor. I walked up the flight of stairs and there is only one door in front of me.

To tell the truth, the first time I knew of the existence of F4 was last October when Tokyo MX TV started broadcasting "Meteor Garden." What happened to be shown on the TV screen was Hua Ze Lei talking to Shan Cai, "When you can't stop crying, just do a handstand. Those brimming tears won't come falling down." It has been eight months since the headstand scene. I had been running around for getting firsthand material for the cover feature story. Prompted by firm determination, finally I have come to stand in front of this door. And the main culprits, so to speak, are just ahead.

"Please wait here." a person from the F4 management company greets me. I still act calm. It just doesn't have the feeling of being real. I feel like my normal self and look up at the spiral staircase, unexpectedly....!? ..!! Vanness! Before my eyes, merely 1.5 meters. At last, I get to interview the Asia born super star F4.

It's been four years since 'Meteor Garden' was aired in Taiwan in April 2001. During this time, F4 have gained tremendous supports around the world. But it takes four years in Japan, finally with the broadcasting of Meteor Garden, many people start getting to know F4. It has taken four years to step up the activities in Japan. What are your takes on it?

Vanness "Actually, I always think it's the best ending to have 'Meteor Garden' broadcast last in Japan."

Vic "It's returning to where it started, isn't it? After all 'Meteor Garden' is based on Japanese manga, I think such a result is the best that one could hope for."

Vanness "Uun"

Vic "In Asia, it's known that many artists want to enter the Japan market. Many Japanese get to know us because of 'Meteor Garden'. Compared to areas such as Hong Kong and China where Chinese is used, I feel much gratified by events in Japan because of the different language."

Both have added "the best" to describe their growing activities in Japan. In proportion to their active attitude, one after another F4 works have been released in Japan. One of them is the Japan edition of their 2nd album "Fantasy 4ever".

This is a piece of work done more than two years ago. Do you still remember how it was recorded at the time?

Vanness "At the time we were filming 'Meteor Garden II' and recording the album, so we were terribly busy."

Vic "Uun. We recorded the album amidst loads of work. We didn't have enough time to prepare for the album. It was quickly produced. Immediately after the 1st album was released, there were many fans looking forward to the next album. Although the album was completed in a short period of time, I think it was still done nicely."

During the process, starting from the production phase, were you able to contribute your own ideas?

Vanness "Yes, we were able to. The producers would discuss with us which songs were suitable, how to blend emotions into song, so we could voice our opinions."

Vic "But this piece of work was done two years ago. I've been thinking this time we will find time to be well-prepared and give fans some present surprises."

Vanness "Uun."

It seems that there is a chance that the 3rd album will be released, doesn't it?

Vic "Actually we have been preparing for it. But we each have our own works. When the four of us have some extra time, we would like to release the 3rd album soon. Japan fans also want to hear our new musical work soon."


The topic of 3rd album popped out unexpectedly. They visited Japan officially in April of this year. It was their first time gathering together in almost eight months. And then the new-photographed photo book is published. Four years later, stimulated by their increasing activities in Japan, it looks that F4 are once again working as a complete group. I'm really glad about it.

Still, let's not forget their individual solo activities. One of them is movies. Three movies, "Star Runner" starring Vanness and two other movies, are shown for public viewing in Japan. As for Mars in which Vic stars, the director has recommended movies for him to watch to prepare for his roles. We start our conversation on such topic.

Vanness "Talk about 'Star Runner'?"

Vic "Aaa. Let's talk about it (Laugh). There are many things one can learn from 'Star Runner.' Vanness did boxing in the movie. When acting Ling (the name of the character in Mars.), I often referenced the way his energy got exploded in an instant. Can I tell more truth?"

Vanness "A ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

Vic "But 'Star Runner' is really a good move! (Laugh)"

Thus, we're back to Vanness on that.

Vanness "I started practicing the action parts two months before we started filming the movie. I went to Hong Kong to learn Yong Chun boxing and Tai Ji boxing from a teacher with 20 years of martial arts background. At the time every day, I was on a controlled diet and practiced Kung Fun that I was taught. Without doing that, I wouldn't have been able to grasp a good feel of it. But the most difficult part is the killing look in the eyes. For that you have to watch 'Mars' to learn it. (Laugh)'

We're just on one of the movie topics, and you've already demonstrated such good friendship (Laugh). As such, can you say something about being friendly to each other?

Vanness "Actually we don't get along that well. (Laugh)"

Vic "Then, Let me start first (Laugh). Vanness has lots of strength and endurance. We went to the gym together; he did some running and then ran on a machine for one to two hours. After that, he did some weight training. On the other hand, I felt dizzy after running with him for about 30 minutes. I got off the machine, but it still felt like I was moving forward and it was almost like suffering from anemia."

Vanness "Vic is really a nice person. We are all attracted to him by his personality and sense of humor and like him. The moment I see him, he looks shy, but once we start talking, I keep on laughing. I always enjoy working with him."

Vic "So, when Vanness goes overseas alone, I film myself on video and give it to him as present. When he is in bad mood, he can get it over just watching my face. Just kidding."

The interview is conducted in such a tone; no question the atmosphere at the scene is harmonious. Led by their pace, I let go of my nervousness and laugh with them.


You have been diversifying across various careers. At present which do you want to concentrate most?

Vanness "For my own, I want to release my so album as soon as possible. But I've already had other works lined up to the end of the year."

How about Vic?

Vic "I will recommend Vanness's album. I always think, among us, he is the one with the most music talents. He has got a sense of rhythm on stage and also dances extremely well. He is what we aim for. (Laugh)"

Vanness "'Meng Long Te Jing Dui' I have finished my portion. The movie is with the director of 'Star Runner,' I'm very happy about it. dreams have come true!
it's been a very long time since they've wanted to see the whole group
in the flesh. And as soon as they arrived, fans already declared their

why! As for Vanness, he also took advantage of promoting his very

Earthquake yesterday occured in Japan, in some areas it had an intensity 4 in Kanto and others intensity 7.

First off I just want to tell everyone how sorry I am that this year I won't able to spend my birthday with everyone. Some people have written to me saying how I didn't want to spend my birthday with fans. But that is not true, I would love to spend my birthday with each and everyone of you. But it just so happens that this year I was finally able to be back in the states and after 5 years of being away from my family, this time I'm able to spend it with family and friends. As for what have I've been doing lately in �@L.A.? Well I've been trying to finish my album, even though it seems never ending, but I'm trying to make it perfect...it gets really tiring, and draining at times where I'm so tired torn, but then I start to think about when I finish I can perform for everyone of you and that helps me get through...honestly I can't wait to get back on stage and perform for all of you. You guys are a big part of my inspiration...God bless you guys.

But other then recording, I've been taking alot of classes, dance, vocal, and stunt training. Oh also trying to exercise even though there's so much junk food that I haven't eaten in awhile...*sigh* But just want to say Thank you again for everything...you're support and unconditional love means the universe to me! Dragon Squad PressConference

The first Press Conference of "Dragon Squad" held last april the
opening, stunt coordinator Chin Ka Lok led others to perform a series
of actions which gained a round of applause. After it, three producers
of "Dragon Squad" presented a speech to show their gratitude and
expectations of the film. Patrick Tong, representative of Mei Ah Film
Production Company Limited presented that he has great confidence in
"Dragon Squad" because it is a valuable film which included the elites
from China, Hong Kong, Korea and America. Moreover, Director Daniel
Lee is specialized in directing action movies. Among the actors,
Vanness Wu from the popular Taiwanese band F4, has showed his
impressive performance in his debut film ¡¨Star Runner¡¨, and has been
nominated as the Best New Performer in the Hong Kong Film Awards.
Besides, Sammo Hung, Simon Yam, Shawn Yue and Xia Yu etc are actors
that full of charisma, and good at actions. Although "Dragon Squad" is
still under production, the production company has made a trailer for
local and foreign media to preview. "Dragon Squad" is about a group of
youthful Interpol agents travel to Hong Kong to give evidence at the
trial of a notorious crime lord. But a team of master criminals
captures the crime lord, and so a battle between white and black
begins.

During his first training early of this year, Vanness Wu can be justified
as ready for his martial arts expertise. He may be quite good already
during the filming of Star Runner, but this time in Dragon Squad, he has learned
a maintenance method techniques. The training includes from his teacher :
1. the mountain kneading power (where he uses his leg power in running for
strength);
2. the Alpine Intensive Training (training in high mountains);
3. Building Training (training in as high as a building while greatly playing
with sticks (to psychologically test fear of heights of the pupil);
4. The Snow training; and
5. Isao Dance.

Hey girls, sorry I've been scarce... been in LA... busy... not a lot of computer access. But what happened today... I just had to come on and tell you all. I hope to catch up on backlogs soon... so okay.. here's my story.

OMG. Today (yesterday) was one of the best days of my life. Monday is my birthday... WHAT AN AWESOME PRE-BIRTHDAY THIS IS...

So this is what happened… OMG I cannot stop hyperventilating. OKAY. Backtrack to Thursday.

On thurs, I went to San Gabriel, to the first branch of Vivid. So I went there to take some pictures and maybe search for Mimi. But she wasn't there so I was just taking lots of pictures of the store and with his pictures... lol. When I finished covering up Jackie Chan in one pic (of Vann and Jackie, haha), this guy walks over and asks, “Oh, are you an F4 fan?” and I was like YESSSSSSS. And we all start talking in Chinese and he tells us that Vanness is going to be there on Saturday from 2-4PM to promote the grand opening of Vivid Spa. And I just about died. I was turning soooo red. We talked some more and he told us that if he saw me on Saturday, he would try and help get me in… but that it is a VIP event so only people with invitations can go into the actual event. However, I might be able to get a glimpse of Vanness.

Then, TODAY…

We had some problems getting there early – so we got there just around 2PM. When we first got there, there were a bunch of fans waiting outside. We pushed our way in (somehow, they didn’t care?) and then we found the photographer. He told us that Vanness would be coming in through the door of the Hilton and would be coming up the stairs to go to the meeting room. So we waited at the top of the stairs for him. Luckily, since we had gotten there later than we had expected, it wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be. And luckily, Vanness wasn’t there yet. In fact, he was 45 minutes LATE.

The fans from outside the spa (that we had passed to get into the Hilton) kept screaming so we kept thinking that he was there. But then it turned out that they were just getting hyped up by reporters. Then, so LUCKILY, we met his grandfather, who saw our poster and started talking to us. He said that he would help us meet Vanness but that it would be a little later (that we should save the poster for later instead of thrusting it into his hands immediately).

Then, HE ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When he came in the door, I SCREAMED. I couldn’t even help it. And OMG, he looked SO GOOD. It was so hard to get a picture though because he was keeping his head down (like in all the pics I see of him in airports) but as he started coming up the stairs, all of my friends and i started singing the chorus to “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” We even timed it SO WELL so that when he was almost at the top of the stairs, we were singing the English part… and he heard that, looked at us and the poster and the Stitch dolls, and he SMILED AT US. HE SMILED. AND THEN HE WAVED AT US. omGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. But he couldn’t stop, so we just stood there and watched as he walked into a hallway full of screaming fans.He was escorted into the Vivid Spa room where no fans were allowed. There were a lot of people there with VIP passes, and so I was a little overwhelmed… didn’t think we would get to meet him. So we’re waiting around for a LONG time. Then we keep hearing screams from all the fans… so I think he was getting interviewed in the Vivid Spa room. Either way, I went back to the Hilton to wait. We didn’t want to go into the VIP room because we figured that if we got caught, then we would get kicked out, so we kept waiting around the stairs area, hoping that he’d come back and we could catch him before he went to the VIP room, which is where the entire thing was supposed to take place.

Then, the photographer came back and told us that he could give Vanness the poster but that we couldn’t go in there. AND OMG. [OK, I AM NOW OBLIGATED TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS FOR A LITTLE WHILE NOW.] SO THEN WE PUSHED OUR WAY THROUGH THE CROWDS OF GIRLS AND WENT INTO THIS ROOM IN THE BACK, WHERE I THINK THE ONLY PEOPLE AROUND WERE FAMILY AND/OR VIP. AND THEN WE WENT INTO THE ROOM WHERE HE WAS STANDING THERE. WHEN IT WAS OUR TURN, THEY PUSHED US IN. SO I HANDED VANNESS THE POSTER. I THINK I MIGHT HAVE SAID SOMETHING LIKE, “HERE… THIS IS FOR YOU.” AND HE WAS LIKE, “WOW…. WOW… THIS IS REALLY GOOD…. THANK YOU…” and I was just like DUMBFOUNDED… completely STARSTRUCK. So I was like, “ur welcome…” but I think that’s all I could manage out of my mouth. Then, we all got together for the picture. AND ME AND VANNESS WERE HOLDING THE POSTER TOGETHER… AND THEN HE PUT HIS ARM AROUND ME. I FELT HIS ARM ON MY SHOULDERS. ****. I ALMOST DIED RIGHT THERE. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.

Then, AFTER THE PICTURE, ALL THE PEOPLE WERE LIKE “OK OK OK U HAVE TO LEAVE NOW” AND MY MOUTH LIKE WASN’T WORKING BUT I THINK THAT I MUST HAVE CONJURED UP A “WAIT… CAN U SIGN SOMETHING?" OMG I WAS SERIOUSLY SO OUT OF SORTS. And anyway, the other people around were like, “NO, U HAVE TO LEAVE NOW.”

BUT VANNESS SPOKE. HE SAID, “NO… NO, I’LL SIGN.” I THINK HE WAS TOUCHED BY THE POSTER. OMGGGGGGG. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. SO HE PUT THE POSTER ON THE BACK TABLE… and when it almost fell, he caught it. OMG those REFLEXES, MAN. VANNESS, OMG. SO HE SIGNED MY CD BOOKLET… AND I WAS LIKE MESMERIZED BY HIS SIGNATURE. AND THEN HE WAS LIKE, “WHO AM I SIGNING THIS FOR?” AND MY FRIENDS POINT AT ME, AND I TOLD HIM MY NAME!” AND HE SIGNED MY CD COVER WITH A HEART... A HEART, OMGGGGGGGG...… and we were like pushed out of there immediately. BUT NO, HOW I WANTED HIM TO SIGN MY CELL PHONE. AND HOW I WANTED TO ASK FOR A HUG. WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?!?! I COULD HAVE JUST SAID, “IT’S MY BIRTHDAY ON MONDAY… CAN I PLEASE HAVE A HUG?!” AND I WANTED TO ASK HIM HOW HIS ALBUM WAS COMING, ETC. ETC… OMGGGG I AM SOOOOOO MAD AT MYSELF ABOUT THAT.

He then came out a little while later and went to the VIP room. Then when he finally got to the VIP room, the FANS WERE ALL CRAZY OVER THERE!!! DANG, we should have WAITED there. SO SOME OF THEM GOT PICS W/HIM BUT WE DIDN’T MAKE IT IN THERE FAST ENOUGH. THEN HE HAD TO LEAVE. And we all were snapping pictures at his face…

But for some reason everyone stopped at the top of the stairs. So my friend and I RAN down the stairs after them (though a little delayed), then then all the fans rushed after us. He got in the car immediately and went bye-bye…at 4:10 PM.

Afterwards, I started crying on the phone and could NOT stop. Everyone I called, I was like flipping out on… started crying a LOT. When I called my mom, she thought something bad had happened to me and was so worried. When she finally heard what happened, she yelled at me for freaking her out, haha. I also told my dad that I need to get married with Vanness and he yelled at me. Haha…

But omg… Vanness. I was flipping out. I could not breathe when I saw him. OR ELSE I COULD HAVE SMELLED HIM, OMGGGG. I COULDN’T EVEN SPEAK. WTF IS WRONG W/ME?!?!?! WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?!?!?! (ok, when I saw that I typed w/me, I laughed… but anyway, I think only z will understand that). But oh man… I feel so lucky… so beyond lucky… how did everything fall in place like this?

I wonder if my happiness is contagious. OMG... he's so charming and sweet... I wish I could have opened my mouth and was myself. but DANG, I never thought I would have actually gotten to meet him!! However, both of them are celebrity moms, but Vanness's mom chose to open up her own career in the beauty arena. That's because, her son, Vanness Wu is a good boy and she need not worry about him. Yao Mimi said," He handles his own things, i don't have to worry for him."

Yao Mimi's full set of beauty career in Los Angelas, boosted a few years back and she opened even more branches. Vanness is not only his mummy's live advertisement, his fair skin takes "maintenance" from hsi mom.

Vanness leaves F4 and goes solo, he had returned to LA for awhile to prepare for his next solo album and also to practice kungfu for his next upcoming action packed movie. Seagal's World Media enters the Dragon

Steven Seagal is headed east, having signed on to produce Asian movies
through his Bangkok-based World Media. His first effort is Dragon
Squad, a martial arts film that will premiere in Hong Kong on March
15.

Daniel Lee directed the Cantonese/English-language story of a battle
between Interpol agents and gangsters in Hong Kong. The cast includes
Sammo Hung, Michael Biehn, Andy On and Vanness Wu.

Seagal produced the film along with partner Jimmy Moy, Bey Logan and
Catherine Hun. Logan and Hun's firm, Visualizer, also produced Dragon
Squad. Arclight Films is covering worldwide sales, excluding Asia.

Logan and Moy are also developing a project that will be quite the
change for tough-guy Seagal. He'll play a burned-out former
intelligence officer who runs a medical clinic in Japan just after
WWII in a film called Shadows on the Sun as part of the Asian
development deal.
