...TODAY ang alis ni Glaiza de Castro for Batanes para sa shooting ng Batanes: Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, kung saan bida sina Iza Calzado at Ken Zhu ng F4.

Sa October 23 na ang balik niya, kaya nagpaalam sa Boys Nxt Door dahil two weeks siyang absent sa taping.

Dobleng tuwa ni Glaiza sa pagkakasama sa movie dahil idol niya si Iza at sister nito ang role niya.

Favorite rin niya ang F4. Excited na itong makita si Ken, na second favorite niya sa grupo after Vic Zhou.

Sina Adolf Alix Jr. at Dace Hukom ng Ignitie Films ang director ng Batanes....

LOSING TO KEN, MINGDAO IS OUT OF “SWORDSMEN”

Losing to KEN CHU in the race for higher billing and fee, mingdao is now officially removed from the tv series SWORDSMEN, as confirmed by producer muxiaoguang, due to asking too high fee and other demands. Mingdao’s company still claims though that he resigned because the production company thinks “mingdao is not that important”. Muxiaoguang also admits that he went thru many tough times with KEN CHU, and that they have revolutionary sentiments… 1 of the 2 remaining swordsmen would be huojianhua, they are still looking for 1 more.

Zaizai, Ken - rushed filming as if horror film

Despite the typhoon, filming for Taiwan tourism drama was carried on as usual. Early in the morning Zai received a phone call from the crew that filming will still be on, he was stunned as said "typhoon ye..." However, he & Ken punctually arrived at Taoyuan to film a hospital scene. In the end, the main door at 1st level was broken due to the typhoon. Fortunately, they were at level 19. But they felt the whole building shaking.

As November is the deadline to submit to Taiwan tourism bureau, they have to rush to complete. Zai has to start promoting his new album soon, and Director Cai's new show is waiting for him. Ken has to go to China to film swordfighting drama end November. Therefore, the schedule is extremely tight.

So, despite the strong typhoon yesterday, they had to continue filming. Although Zai has good driving skills, his assisitant took control of the steering wheel yesterday. He could feel the car shaking. Ken drove, but as he left home early the typhoon was not that strong yet. When they arrived at the filming location, they realised the main door of the hospital is broken, and the whole building was moving vigourously, it was as if they were filming a horror film.

At the end of May, City of Sky started filming in Beijing, Xiao Tian
joined into this extraordinary crew. He is focus and had also make a lot
of adjustments to work with the team smoothly. At the same time, he did

Ngayon pa lang, paying off na ang repackaging sa second Ultimate Male Survivor ng StarStruck na si Mike Tan after he decided to go sexy and mature.

Cast sa Marimar as Choi, babalik muli ang character ni Mike this month sa high-rating drama series ng GMA-7 sa pagbabalik ni Marimar (Marian Rivera) sa Villa Santibañez. Sa Zambales kukunan ang mga eksena ni Mike kung kaya't kailangang maayos ang schedule ng young actor dahil this Friday, October 12, lilipad na siya patungong Batanes to start shooting for the movie Batanes ng Ignite Media Films, starring Iza Calzado and F4's Ken Zhu and to be directed by Adolf Alix.

Si Mike ang gaganap na leading man ni Glaiza de Castro sa pelikula. Supposedly, na-test si Mike para sa papel na unang asawa ni Iza Calzado. "Kaso sa test shot po namin ni Iza, nagmukha akong batang-bata. Pinalaki na lang po yung papel ng isa sa mga male characters sa movie at 'yon ang ibinigay sa akin," paliwanag ni Mike sa PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) nang makita namin siya sa Station 168 internet café sa Tomas Morato kagabi, October 8.

Balitang pinagpipilian between Sid Lucero and Coco Martin ang gaganap sa first husband ni Iza.

By November, magsisimula na rin si Mike sa sequel ng Manay Po na Manay Two: Three Gays And A Baby ng Regal Entertainment. Ang original partner niyang si LJ Reyes pa rin ang makakatambal niya sa pelikulang ididirehe ni Joel Lamangan.

"Actually, I feel a bit. How shall I say this: I don't know what to do. Because these dishes used to be family recipes that were just cooked inside our family and now they're publicized. Garden went popular, he wasn't happy at all, he couldn't find
"himself" at all. He have also approached doctors to cure it but his
thinking was,"It's no use seeing a doctor, it still depends on

being met with depression but still did not see any effects even after
he went to a doctor. It was only till recently when he started reading

Right now, there are printing 30000 copies. Yesterday, Ken showed his
cooking skills at his new book press conference, Lion Head, Pei Gen
Lettuce, Tomato Fried Egg, Mushroom Winter Melon Chicken Soup,
everything was very localise. He said, on Valentine's Day when he was
19 years old, he made a whole table to food for his girlfriend and
only spent 1000, "But girls don't like guys who can cook, so we still

Influenced by his elders at home, Ken Chu loves cooking since young and it is homecooked food like, Potato Chicken. He'll cook with whatever ingredients he has and what he really bothers is the atmosphere. He was very poor when he was 18 years old, he couldn't even book a place during his girlfriend's birthday and Valentine's day. He spent around $1000 and made a whole table of food and his girlfriend was very touched. In his book, he even showed how people could get girls, "Girls nowadays cannot really cook, if you can do a few nice dishes, i think the girl will be touched by you straightaway."

what really did KEN CHU do that made the japanese girls shed tears all over their faces? when ken went to japan to promote his 1st book "KEN'S DELICIOUS RELATIONS", he has not even started to present his expertise in cooking, just a little hug made fans scream and cry... cute as he is, he also tipped us some secrets on how to still have oozing appeal while cooking! he said: "when you slice the onions, you must intentionally let the girl see that you are shedding non-stop tears, that way she will be overwhelmed and touched". its really a good tip......

Eventhough I spent years in Singapore, almost my entire youth, the friends I used to get along are no longer that close due to time and distance. We will get together only when I have a chance to drop by. Yet, I can hardly let go with it when it comes to Singaporean food.

Singapore is a tiny country but gathered with diverged multiple ethnic groups. In respect, it has lots of food varieties. Moreover, people tend to dine out, so it induces tasty and high quality cuisines (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=744624#). One can find delicious Chinese cuisine, Indian cuisine, Malaysia cuisine and even some western cookery. Although I stayed there for eight years, I still greed for more. I can certainly find more good restaurants with quality food.

I was on my own when I was in Singapore, so I have to cook myself. Hence, I learned a few native Singaporean dishes. For example, an egg dish which make with semi-raw egg by pouring some Singaporean sauce called “Lao Chou” (dark soy sauce). This dish is seldom found in Taiwan. It is very simple but tasteful with this unique sauce. More than that, typical Nanyang dishes like “Rou Gu Cha”, are not too difficult for me to make.

Perhaps I lived in a place of multi-ethnics like Singapore for a prolonged period, I am quite adaptable to different food. I am not picky and rarely pick on food. No matter where I am, I usually am able to accustom to local food easily. Even though I had something that is really hard to take, I would only have diarrhea without encountering any serious reactions.

Ken has emerged from a teenage hearthrob, to a bonafide artist. The reason why i like Ken among F4 is when i saw him performed, i know he's the type who would not be contented to be popular because of his good looks, but there's more to this guy. He is very deep and talented! His album is a proof that he is a no non-sense artist. He is i think the most underrated F4 member, maybe because of his character, very low profile. His rendition of the ballads(from Yong Bu ting zhi, Ke shi wo, ressurection to sillylover) is very deep and full of emotions, and his rock songs (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=745632#) like la la la is very upbeat and carefree! This album is a masterpiece! With basically string- based songs, this album is a delight to listen to. Ken Chu's performance as a singer (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=745632#) really improved a lot. Although expectedly his fans anticipated that his album would be more of rock than the usual F4 stuff, one track i noticed (#4) A Good Person, is a bit pop,"Very F4-like" compared to the rest of the songs. But the melody is very catchy, and among the 10 songs included in this album, this is the song that Ken Chu sang quite pretty well.The contribution of Wu Bai "Silly Lover" has an outstanding instrumentation,and the song "Ressurection", composed by Vivian Hsu and ken Chu himself has a good vocal arrangement,but the anthemic Yong Bu Ting Zhi is a blast and the song will surely put Ken Chu into the face of Who's who in the Asian popmusic!

This album will definitely make you forget that Ken is from F4! This is an ARTIST'S album, rather than an IDOLS' album. As a member of F4, Ken found that his style is rock. In "On Ken's Time" the cd sure has quality when it comes to the and controlled voice of Ken. To the addictive beat of "Never Stop" and to the great contribution to of "Black and White". F4 may have been introduced as matinee idols, but these guys didn't stop there. They explored and tapped their talents, in order to stay long and successful in showbusiness. Zaizai & Vanness already released their album, and vanness for that matter had a movie (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=745633#) and was launched as an action star. For Jerry, though he is not a good singer (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=745633#) as compared to the other 3, he is the ACTOR in the group.But his singing improved, and his album also was successful, with a movie released (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=745633#) last year to add up to his credits. As for Ken, he is actually the most goodlooking F4 member, but he seems to be neglected in the past. He had 1` movie released in 1993, and all 3 had their respective albums. That made F4 fans wonder, why? But the long wait is over!And it surely is worth it! The album is superb! It seems like Ken Chu is so involved in making it a quality album, more than his fans or more than any music fans (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=745633#) has expected. It was no surprise to F4 fans, especially to Ken's fans that he will be singing songs that are more of rock and roll type, but nobody expected that this album would end up this good. It would have been risky for Ken if he released this type of album 3 years ago, when F4 was at the very peak of their stardom. It would have jeopardized Ken and the other F4 members' career, because this album is definitely not an album of a matinee IDOL.

This album is breaking loose from the usual mainstream pop love songs that the F4 was known for. It was smart enough for Chu to release album at this time, because this goes only to show that idols grow and become mature artists. This will also disprove that F4 are nothing but a bunch of prettyguys, with pretty smiles.They might have been known as cute guys initially, and whether they have talent, is a bonus. But,this album proves that Ken Chu has the talent, and his prettyface is just a bonus! Rock on Ken Chu! Who knows you'll be the next rock icon from asia?

What i know from F4 is that they are 4 guys with handsomefaces,who catapulted to stardom after the success of their drama series,"MeteorGarden". They invaded the musicworld due to their popularity. These guys were not really formed as boyband, but became one. Vanness Wu and Vic Zhou(?) released their album way before Jerry Yan did.And now, it's Ken Chu's time to release his own album, and the album seems really different from the other 3.

I listened to some of the songs, and it gave me goosebumps. How can an F4 member produce such wonderful and great album? We knew F4 as the ever wholesome quartet, prim and proper, and predictably would sing the usual mushy and cheesy lovesongs, but Ken Chu proves us wrong. Definitely,it's a quality album, for which you can feel the dedication and passion of the artist through his songs here.This will not be appreciated by Ken Chu or F4 fans only, but to all musicgeeks, as well!A must buy!

I've heard a sample of his Black and White single (yet to be commercially released pending the release of his album five days from now) and it reminded me so much of a John Lennon song. It really shows his musical influence, plus its about Audrey Hepburn, so its Ken's tribute to her. The Melody was lovely and Ken has really matured as a singer. I really can't wait to hear the rest of the album. Only Five more days to go! Way to Go Xiao Tian! And we'll never tire 'Jia You'-ing you!

Taiwan Tourism Endorsers F4 is going to hold an International Fans Meeting on October 28, 2007 at the NTU Sports Center. All four of them will also hold private fans gatherings to meet with their Taiwanese fans. Yesterday, Zaizai expressed, he will start with a 3000 people music fans meeting at Nan Gang 101 on October 27th followed with a private fans gathering on October 28th evening.

Since the major event on the 28th is exclusive for Japanese and Korean fans, they decided to organize additional fans gatherings to comfort the others. Other than Zaizai's 2 events, Jerry Yan will hold one on the 27th at Nan Gang Park. Chu Xiao Tian, himself, will cook for his supporters in person. Talking abt the movie, Ken expressed tHat he liked his role very much. There were many amusing things that happened during filming of the movie. "For example, there was a scene where i had to look sorrowfully at Gigi's as she walked past. In the end, when i saw fans standing near the glass window & waving to me, it caused me lose my concentration & feelings. It was until now that Gigi spoke: "But it's not bad having fans at the filmset, they make the atmosphere very lively & they'll often bring delicious food for us."

MANILA, Philippines - Taiwanese superstar Ken Zhu, member of the wildly popular quartet F4, is expected to arrive in the country this week. He will stay for 10 days to work on “Batanes,” an independent film opposite Iza Calzado.




Upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Ken—Xi-Men in the hit television series “Meteor Garden”—will board a private jet to Batanes Island, according to director Adolf Alix Jr.

“He will be back in November to promote the movie,” said Alix, who filmed the critically acclaimed “Kadin” on the same wind-swept island off the northernmost tip of Luzon.

Fisherman

Ken plays the role of a stranded fisherman from Taiwan. Iza will portray a Manila sales girl who relocates to Batanes, and is torn between Ken and an Ivatan portrayed by Joem Bascon.

In a phone interview with Inquirer Entertainment on Saturday, Alix said the filming of “Batanes” began four days ago.

The main cast members—Iza, Joem, Sid Lucero, Coco Martin, Bembol Roco, Daria Ramirez, Julio Diaz, Mike Tan and Glaiza de Castro—are expected to arrive in Batanes on Sunday.

“Batanes,” produced by Ignite Media, will be shown in local theaters starting Nov. 28. Alix co-directs “Batanes” with Dave Hukom, Ignite Media chief executive officer.

Tribute

In November, Alix will work on a twin-bill, “Manila,” with Raya Martin (“Autohystoria,” “Short Film about the Indio Nacional”).

“Manila” is a tribute to Ishmael Bernal’s “Manila by Night” and Lino Brocka’s “Jaguar,” Alix said.

The twin-bill, written by Ramon Sarmiento and co-produced by Bicycle Pictures and CIF Films, will run for 40 minutes each.

Alix’s first film, “Donsol,” is this year’s Philippine representative to the Oscar Awards.

TYPHOON Ineng didn’t stop the cast and crew of Batanes from making it to Basco for their "workshop and immersion" for the weekend, in time for their principal photography tomorrow, Tuesday (Oct. 9).

Last Saturday at 5:00 a.m. some 14 of the Batanes group were stranded at the domestic airport since their flight to Basco was cancelled. The typhoon signal was no. 3 and no plane was flying.

They tried again yesterday and made it. With stars Iza Calzado and Joem Bascon and the whole group, they made it there at 8:30 a.m. They right away checked in Batanes Seaside Lodge & Restaurant in Basco.

The Batanes filming will stretched until Oct. 22 and indeed the young director Adolfo Alix Jr. is a fast, determined worker. In spite of the winds, he had production designer Cyrus Khan construct a love nest for the leads. "‘Di pa lang mailagay ang bubong dahil malakas pa ang hangin dito at baka liparin ito. Saka na kung kailangan na," associate director Arman Reyes told us.

All schedules are ironed out for this 35 mm movie. Even the arrival here of co-star Ken Zhu of F4 has been set on Oct. 16 in Manila. He is set to fly to Basco the next day and to start work on Oct. 18. After some days work there, the Batanes group returns to Manila to wind up filming before the end of October.

How do we know that Adolfo is a fast, determined worker? Did he not start filming his previous project Nars after Sept. 20. After filming up to Sept. 30 with some rest days in between, would you believe that only the music has to be done on it. Nars is almost in the can and will have a premiere night in late October on Nurses Day.

And the quality of work, he’s doing? His debut film, a digifilm at that, is the Philippine entry to the foreign film category of the 2008 Oscars, besting other mainstream films.

Ken: From my viewpoint, success is not a matter of how many people adore you, how many people admire you. It is how you see yourself, a way of self-evaluation. Have you been proud of yourself? I’m such a person, who strictly follows my principles and values. Put it in other words, say, I have to accomplish a task. I have tried my best while uphold my principles. When it is done, that rewarded me with the biggest sense of accomplishment.

Host: Friends online reminded that one has to face more trouble and worries after success. Is that the case?

Angie: This depends on how you perceive it. In fact it was tough to both F4 and myself. Popularity came instantly to them right after their first movie (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=747066#). They did not know how to confront with their job and the environment. I believe they suffered a lot at that time. It’s just like it was the first time one became the top of the class in an exam. You have to bear the stress and start worry whether you can keep your priority. However, when I talked to Ken lately, we gradually noted that from an academic point of view, it is fun on the process, but don’t aimed at ranking. That is the primitive intention for learning. I wanted to renew my perception. I think through these recent talks with Ken, I can see his growth and improvement coming deep down, such as some of his viewpoints. He slowly learned to release his stress and be relaxed, turning it into motives for improvement.

Ken: Indeed I am all by myself for these years. Coming back to Taiwan from Singapore, I maintained a mild but sturdy relationship with my family. For years when I arrive home the moment I open the doors (http://www.tsinoy.com/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=747066#), I wish there is someone waiting for me with welcome arms. She will listen to me, sharing what has happened in a day. Now, I only have my pets. Hopefully, I can find that person to walk with me soon.

Ken: For that, I can’t predetermine it. It’s fate. It is not the case that I want that person and that person will be with me. Online question: How do you master the role in “City of Sky”? Have the director give you any guidelines? In what way you and your role are in common?

Ken: A lot. He is rigid with his principles. He doesn’t care about others acceptance on his insistence. He embraces his girl in his heart even she has vanished and has lost contact completely. He even changes his life. That looks very much like me. I’m also keen on holding my love and principles.



Online question: From my viewpoint, freedom to an artist is so limited. They don’t have much privacy. When you run into this situation, how do you adapt it?

Angie: Freedom is from your heart. When you accepted your identity as an artist, not altered by outer factors, you’ve got your freedom. Then I will feel relaxed. On the other hand, there are room for improvement, given by his fans and supporters. If you were an artist, you walk by the street. I will be happy to see you. May be I will come to say “hi “and leave you in peace. Others may ask you, “Hey Ken, sign me an autograph, let’s take a photo”. Under such circumstance, you may be embarrassed. You may feel you have lost your freedom. If everyone respects each other, there will be more freedom.

Ken: It happed once while I was in the change-room of a gym. Someone came up to me for my autograph. I was in my underwear and was so embarrassed. Should I sign or shouldn’t I? None the less I did sign first.

Host: Ken, they asked about your kiss scenes. Do you need more time to get ready for this? Or you can step right into it? I noticed that you haven’t got too many such incidences. For the rest was not even to the point.

Ken: This time is a break-through for me. Before this project, I can’t easily get into the mood. I found kiss scene makes me pretty embarrassed in the past. Now, I can manage it much better. That is why I feel I have improved.


Host: How do you change that? It came all a sudden?

Angie: Practice leads to perfect.

Ken: That true, practice leads to perfect. Moreover, it’s about the age, at 25 you can’t be shy just like a little kid all the time.

Ken: All are deeply impressed. Every time I go aboard, Mongolia, Europe, America, Japan, I have visited all of them. Each place gives me an unique experience. The first time I went to Spain, I met a beggar surrounded by 20 to 30 dogs and cats, big and small. I sat there looking at him for two hours. I was so touched by the scene. You don’t get to see this everywhere. Every place has its uniqueness. I love to experience it. For me, I like to visit local grocery market when I visit a place. I went to see what they eat, what they use. Then try to find out why local people like to eat this, why they like to talk about a particular topic. For me, this is a way to enrich my knowledge. In turn it gives me insights on our society. Where are our pros and cons.

Angie: I think what Ken means is, at the beginning, fans adore a movie, a show, being attracted by their idol. As time passes, fans are more or less under certain influence.

Officials hope to attract tourists for 2009 World Games

Transportation officials are hoping that the 2009 World Games in Kaohsiung will attract tourists to Taiwan.

One lawmaker, Lee Kun-tse, said on Monday that the number of tourists to Japan went up threefold when the World Games were held there in 2001. He said that tourists for Germany's World Games in 2005 brought in a revenue of 60 million euros. Lee said that Taiwan should take full advantage of the Kaohsiung World Games.

Tourism Bureau Director-General Janice Lai said that Taiwan is ready to exploit the World Games in 2009 and the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Lai said it would be important to find other events to combine with the World Games as tourist packages.

Lai also said that the Tourism Bureau has selected the popular boy band F4 to represent Taiwan in Japan and Korea. She said they should attract more tourists to Taiwan.

It was previously reported that f4 member KEN CHU will arrive in the country oct 21 for the shooting of BATANES: TILL THE ENDS OF THE EARTH with iza calzado. But, it seems he arrived earlier yesterday, and after only a few hours' rest, proceeded to board a private plane straight for batanes. KEN’S arrival was supposedly kept secret because he has fans from other asian countries who would want to rush to batanes to see him. The singer-actor will be staying in batanes for 10 days, and nothing can stop his fans from visiting him even in such far areas. KEN will leave immediately after shooting his scenes, but will be back by november to promote the movie which is set to be shown november 28.

Ken Zhu in Philippines

Ken Zhu has finally arrived in the Philippines at 11:00 this morning. October 17, 2007. He came with Mr. Chih. He was in a very good mood and was happy. He even waved to the press people. The arrival was covered by QTV 11 News. I am not sure if it was covered by other station. He was here to shoot a movie with our local actress Iza Calzado in Batanes. One of the members of the popular Taiwanese group F4 is now in the country for a 10 day shoot of an independent film in Batanes.

Ken Zhu of the Meteor Garden and Meteor Rain television series arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport this morning.

He was immediately flown to the location to shoot the independent movie together with actress Iza Calzado and various Filipino and Taiwanese talents.

Zhu will reportedly play the role of a stranded fisherman who fell in love with a local girl played by Calzado.

Report: RP lures F4’s Ken Zhu for indie film shoot

Ken Zhu, one of the members of the all-male Taiwanese group F4 is now in the Philippines for a shoot of an independent film in Batanes.

Zhu, who starred in the "Meteor Garden" and "Meteor Rain" television series arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Wednesday morning, The Philippine Star reported.

He will be working with Filipina actress Iza Calzado in a project that brings Taiwanese and Filipino talent together.

Zhu will reportedly be playing the role of a stranded fisherman who falls in love with a local girl, played by Calzado.

Taiwan’ tourism bureau had announced that it is going to make use of F4’s charm to promote tourism by making them symbols of Taiwanese hospitality.

An advertisement featuring members of the quartet showing the neighboring country’s sceneries and attractions has already been produced.

Taiwan officials believe the F4 can help boost tourism in their country since the group is already very popular in Asia including the Philippines.
