The last section was "Question and Answer"..

Ken collected 8 questions from the audience starting from left to right across the hall.

Q: A Japanese fan raised a question that every Ken fan is eager to find out. When will " I. Ken " Concert DVD will be available for sale?

A: Ken's first reaction was, he does not know. He immediately turned to his manager and said, "Let's ask him". Yet, the answer was,"As soon as possible".

Q: Ken, why do you get your hair cut?

A: Nothing specially, just because summer begins.

(The hostess asked if we like his new hair. Of course, we replied that was great!)

Q: Ken, when will you come to Korea, a question from a Korean fan? Since there was no Korean translator, the hostess asked them if they understand English. In fact, they know a bit of Chinese.

A: Ken replied, "Actually, " I. Ken " Concert was planned to hold at different places and Korea was part of the plan. Please looking forward to it."

Q: Finished with the Tokyo Concert, when will Ken come for another concert at a different place in Japan?

A: Finished with the part in Kandon, we are moving on to Kansai. It will be announced once time is confirmed.

Q: How do you feel about today's gathering?

A: Very happy. I'm so glad to see you all in Taiwan.

Q: Listened to the song "And I love you so" at " I. Ken " Concert, she was deeply touched and like the song very much. Where and how did Ken learn about this song? Who was the original singer?

A: Ken said he learned about this song when he was only 11 or 12. He found it while listening to the golden oldies. The original singer was Don McLean who sang many different style songs.

Q: Would you please introduce some good diving locations at Kending?

A: Diving locations are divided into North and South parts in Taiwan. I'm not going to recommend anywhere in the northern part because the places are heavily polluted. Southern part is no longer as good as it used to be. Therefore, I hope others would take their part in protecting the seabed. Please don't take away anything from the sea and don't litter. -

Q: When will F4 come to Japan for other activities again?

A: Since this is a two-year project, more events are on its way.

The "Question and Answer" section completed and so was the one-hour long meeting.

Lastly, Ken thanks everyone to join this gathering.

The T-shirts were also on sale at the JVKV Party but those sold at Film Concert got Ken's autograph on the right shoulder. It comes with 3 little badges. The T-shirt with "Why" design is in white with words print in pink. The other acupuncture point design is also in white but the word is in red. They were available in medium or large size.

Little badges are in black, white, gray, red, blue, purple and green. Each set is wrapped in a pink patterned white gift box selling at NT$1500. Each design has only 100 sets of limited offers.

When Ken talked about his ideas, thoughts and expectations on " I. Ken ", he kept going on and on. Perhaps he wanted to communicate so much at a time, he forgot to pause for translation. By the time he stopped, the translator can't remember all and was unable to translate. This happened many times and the hostess has to remind him to pause, allowing time for translation.

Ken and Vanness events were held at the same place. Ken's gathering was scheduled after Vanness's event so we spent quite a while waiting for Vanness fans to come out before we can enter the hall.

Hostess Juan requested all to put away recording devices because tape-recording and photo taking were not allowed after Ken came on stage.

Report on 4/22 " I.Ken " Film Concert

Xiao Tian's " I.Ken " Film Concert took place in Room 201A/B/C at the Taipei International Convention Center. The Concert was scheduled to start at 7:30pm. However, by the time when 800 participants got admitted and settled down, it was almost 8pm. While waiting, " I.Ken " poster was shown on stage screen with "Never stop" and "One good person" as the background music.

The Film Concert started with the edited version of Ken's Tokyo concert. It began with the "Song of Seashore", followed by "One good person", then "Trapped", "Here we are", "Inside of my guitar" and "Silly lover". Although every song was not a complete version, all audience flung into it. Watching Ken said hello on screen, everyone just replied "hello" as though it's on live.

When the image of Ken, covering his eyes with a black band singing "Take me away", being shown on screen, everybody almost screamed off their heads. Too bad the hostess stepped in and ended the Film Concert section.

The hostess was Juan from Hit FM. She showed up with a Japanese translator and introduced Ken to come on show. Ken wore a white long sleeve shirt and deep blue jeans with black leather shoes. That was the same set he wore on the interview after the JVKV Party.

Firstly, he greeted in Japanese, "Konbawa (Good evening everyone)", then in Korean, "How are you?" Afterwards, repeated in Cantonese, "Where else? Hong Kong's? …..Hello~." He further asked, "Any Taiwanese fans? I'm so sorry for today's arrangement." Lastly, he said in English, "Hello, everybody. I'm Ken!"

After that, he talked about his Tokyo Concert which was very successful. He himself enjoyed it so much because that was his first time running solo with much less constraints on coordination. He could select his favourite songs for which his audience also appreciated.


As the show moved on, the hostess introduced 2 T-shirts designed by Ken. According to Ken, he was in the process of setting up " I. Ken ". So he specially designed some fringe products for it.

He further explained a lot on the concept of " I. Ken ". We are going to know more about Ken from different aspect through " I. Ken ". He wants to present his views and thoughts from real life via " I. Ken ". Hence, he will gradually put various works of his own on the site.

Talking about the designs of the T-shirts, Ken explained that he got the idea from acupuncture points on the first one. The points are shown on both sides of the T-shirt. At this time, the host held the T-shirt displaying it on a cat-walk, then fit it on Ken. She interrupt, "Actually, Ken wants his girl-friend to wear it so he can lay his hands on." Ken embarassedly denied. He said the design was only for fun.

The other design is a printed eclipse pattern with the word "Why? " in the center. On the back, it shows "WHY ASK WHY." Ken explained, "A lot of times, we keep asking 'Why' and being bothered with such feelings. Rather than trapped with 'Why', perhaps we should say, 'Why ask why'.
Life brought along with different impressions and inspirations, and that is what " I. Ken " is meant to deliver.

Later on, Ken gave us a little update on what he is working on recently, that is study. He said this year is very important for him. He is studying Japanese (he speak in Japanese immediately, "I'm learning Japanese.") and learning some new stuff. The hostess asked him whether that is the new trendy wii. He said he has not bought it yet and is waiting for a price drop. Then he expressed in Japanese "That's expensive!" The hostess joked that the audience is going to buy for him. Ken turned down at once, "No…don't. I will buy it myself." In addition, he is also working on his new album. There were bad rumors which he had no idea where it came from. He doesn't care how others write about him but worried that we will be mislead and get anxious. Therefore, he'd like to take this chance to clarify it.

Followed on, Ken introduced the website " I. Ken ". He said, " I. Ken " is just like a magazine filled with different themes on each issue. It will get updated every 3-months. Coming up will be the Early Spring Edition with focus on inter-actions. At that time, the screen is showing the pages from " I. Ken " and Ken explained each of the pages, for example, that is his personal information, his work, etc. Moving on to the Link page, he indicated that presently it is linked to his company and F3 sites. Later on, he is going to put some new links which he believes would be useful for the readers. Users don't have to worry get confused with the pages.

Talking about members' section, he expressed that it will be an exclusive section for this magazine's subscribers. On top of his photos and his photo works, it will also have some recommendations or suggestions from daily lives, such as travelling information. Moreover, he will post up some products used by him for sale. At that point, the hostess interfered, "Things you used? Well….then remember don't wash it. How about the clothes you wear today? Will they be put on for sale?"

Ken sadly said, "Sorry…not this set because I borrowed them and have to return them."

Afterwards, Ken indicated that revenues derived from fringe products are for the operation of this website, whereas his products are sold for charity. Lastly, he invited everyone to put his/her concerns and questions on board. He will go through them and try to answer them. He welcomes others to discuss it and help each other to resolve issues. Soon, the website " I. Ken " will be ready to roll out.

Next, Ken updated about his work with the Tourist Bureau. He felt sorry to cause the inconvenience brought along with his recommended dish, "Mixed lard rice". He learned that fans had been calling the Tourist board inquiring where to find this dish. Staffs tried hard to look for it and finally located two stores for tours to be included in its itinerary. Yet, he reminded us to be aware of high cholesterol.

The hostess request Ken to recommend another food and Ken picked the "smelly bean curd". He told the audience that there are two types available on market. One is naturally ferment and the other is made chemically. He gave us a tip on how to distinguish the two. For the ferment, it will be crunchy from outside but remains soft and tender inside when deep-fried. However, the latter will become crunchy both inside and outside when deep-fried.

I. CASE HISTORY
1. Description of the present problem

MANILA, Philippines -- Patient Ruth L. Navarra has contracted a severe case of addiction to a gorgeous member of the male specimen, Jerry Yan. He is one-fourth of the phenomenal Taiwanese group known as F4. At the height of their popularity, this group had the power to make girls swoon by just blinking their eyes.

Ruth admits her adulation of the group has gone beyond what is acceptably healthy. Not only did she make it a point to go to all their overpriced concerts, she also collected all merchandise she could lay her greedy hands on. She says a balikbayan box full of F4 plates, tumblers, CDs, notebooks, magazines, stickers and bubble gums still sits in her room.

She says four years ago, you wouldn’t know the paint of her bedroom as she covered every inch of the wall with posters of the Flower 4. She watched “Meteor Garden,” the telenovela that made F4, over and over again until her eyes hurt. After watching the show, she would read a Web synopsis of the episode she just watched. She even made her own shrine, err, website of the group.

She says she made enemies with some of her oldest friends just because they told her the foursome all looked like fools.

There was a time when she grew so tired of singing songs she could not understand (apparently she felt researching the translation on the Internet was not enough) that she got herself a tutor and took Mandarin classes.

Once she had the opportunity to meet Jerry in person. She couldn’t help herself and professed eternal love for the poor man. She promised herself she would walk down the aisle holding his hands.

But after “Meteor Garden,” the group seemed to disappear into oblivion. After the wave of F4 madness, nothing has been heard about them since.

Ruth saw them recently being interviewed in a TV show. She noted with sadness that they were still saying the same things. To her, it felt that their answers had entered a time warp and there was nothing new to pounce on.

She admits her heart fluttered and she almost died of asphyxiation when Jerry smiled while answering one of the questions. He still has that effect on her. Only, Jerry does not do that now as often as he did four years ago.

She says she’s recovering from the addiction, though there are still times when she stumbles and finds herself staring with longing at the lone Jerry Yan poster in her room.

2. Diagnosis
Clearly, this is a case of serious obsession. Jerry Yan is a very lucky man because he lives in a country away from where she lives and is constantly surrounded by overprotective bodyguards. It gives you shivers to think what could happen if he had none of that.

II. Intervention

For her full recovery, I recommend that she take down that single poster from her wall and cover the box of merchandise with masking tape so she would not find herself sifting through them in the dead of night

F4 Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, Vic Chou and Vanness Wu United to hold
International Fans Meeting in recent


F4 just “United” for an International Fans Meeting in Taiwan. The event attracted more than 4000 Japanese and Korean fans and brought along $1500 million commercial rewards on tourism. Others heard that the four are planning to hold a concert this year. However, both Jerry Yan and the other F3s’ Agencies denied there were such a plan for concert. Despite, they will be “Reunited” again in October for another major event to be held in Taiwan under the Tourist Bureau project.

Idol drama is missing Jerry Yan

Taiwan Tourist Bureau spent $800 million to invite F4 to be its Tourist Ambassador target at Japan and Korea. The project includes idol drama, advertisements and 4 overseas press conference (2 for each in Japan & Korea), and 2 inland events. Vic Chou, Vanness Wu and Ken Chu will lead in the idol drama whereas Jerry Yan confirmed will be absent from it.

Last March, F4 had 4 concerts at the Hong Kong Coliseum. This year, they joined again to hold international fans meeting for Taiwan Tourism. So far, no plan is set for concerts. The only thing could be confirmed is they will hold another major event in October for the Tourist Bureau in Taiwan. Weather this event will be open to Taiwanese fans is yet to be decided by the organizer.

edition Of "The Legendary Chu Liu Xiang" held a press conferencce in Beijing.The production explained that due to conflict of schedules, Zhu Xiao Tian (who played Xiang Shuai), Hao-Min Chen ( Hutiehua), Xiao Qiang ( Lin Yi) and others were unable to attend. But Hu Jing, Sun Fei, Liu Jia, Tang Jia-jia, and other beauties who were on this drama attended, and the atmos- phere was still lively.

Xiang, it has a total of 40 episodes, "the breeze from the red sea", the "desert", "thrush", 3

great respect for the original version, but there were changes largely on the merging of seve-ral characters from the book, especially among Xiang Shuai's friends.Producer Yu Jian-ming said : "We hope to give you a real culture of the Chinese martial arts drama, this version of
Chu Liu Xiang is a major breakthrough that you will truly love. "

Zhu Xiao Tian of F4 initially explains that this is his first costume drama, but his
tai chi skills enabled him to shoot smoothly ,which surprised co-star Hu JIng (Surongrong) .
It was learned that Zhu Xiao Tian has to shoot during the unfortunate death of his father, he also failed to leave the set, since they were stilll on the middle of shooting the drama at that
time, but he was allowed later to fly back to Taiwan to pay respects to his father.Ever since
the Xiang Shuai part was given to handsome Zhu Xiao Tian, he was prepared for the accept- ance and criticism that he will be encountering. He said : "I do not want to be bound to be the classical model, I would do this role according to my own understanding and interpretation of the character."

Xiao Tian's " I.Ken " Film Concert took place in Room 201A/B/C at the Taipei International Convention Center. The Concert was scheduled to start at 7:30pm. However, by the time when 800 participants got admitted and settled down, it was almost 8pm. While waiting, " I.Ken " poster was shown on stage screen with "Never stop" and "One good person" as the background music.

The Film Concert started with the edited version of Ken's Tokyo concert. It began with the "Song of Seashore", followed by "One good person", then "Trapped", "Here we are", "Inside of my guitar" and "Silly lover". Although every song was not a complete version, all audience flung into it. Watching Ken said hello on screen, everyone just replied "hello" as though it's on live.

The hostess was Juan from Hit FM. She showed up with a Japanese translator and introduced Ken to come on show. Ken wore a white long sleeve shirt and deep blue jeans with black leather shoes. That was the same set he wore on the interview after the JVKV Party.

Firstly, he greeted in Japanese, "Konbawa (Good evening everyone)", then in Korean, "How are you?" Afterwards, repeated in Cantonese, "Where else? Hong Kong's? …..Hello~." He further asked, "Any Taiwanese fans? I'm so sorry for today's arrangement." Lastly, he said in English, "Hello, everybody. I'm Ken!"

After that, he talked about his Tokyo Concert which was very successful. He himself enjoyed it so much because that was his first time running solo with much less constraints on coordination. He could select his favourite songs for which his audience also appreciated.

Later on, Ken gave us a little update on what he is working on recently, that is study. He said this year is very important for him. He is studying Japanese (he speak in Japanese immediately, "I'm learning Japanese.") and learning some new stuff. The hostess asked him whether that is the new trendy wii. He said he has not bought it yet and is waiting for a price drop. Then he expressed in Japanese "That's expensive!" The hostess joked that the audience is going to buy for him. Ken turned down at once, "No…don't. I will buy it myself." In addition, he is also working on his new album. There were bad rumors which he had no idea where it came from. He doesn't care how others write about him but worried that we will be mislead and get anxious. Therefore, he'd like to take this chance to clarify it.

Followed on, Ken introduced the website " I. Ken ". He said, " I. Ken " is just like a magazine filled with different themes on each issue. It will get updated every 3-months. Coming up will be the Early Spring Edition with focus on inter-actions. At that time, the screen is showing the pages from " I. Ken " and Ken explained each of the pages, for example, that is his personal information, his work, etc. Moving on to the Link page, he indicated that presently it is linked to his company and F3 sites. Later on, he is going to put some new links which he believes would be useful for the readers. Users don't have to worry get confused with the pages.

Talking about members' section, he expressed that it will be an exclusive section for this magazine's subscribers. On top of his photos and his photo works, it will also have some recommendations or suggestions from daily lives, such as travelling information. Moreover, he will post up some products used by him for sale. At that point, the hostess interfered, "Things you used? Well….then remember don't wash it. How about the clothes you wear today? Will they be put on for sale?"

Ken sadly said, "Sorry…not this set because I borrowed them and have to return them."

Afterwards, Ken indicated that revenues derived from fringe products are for the operation of this website, whereas his products are sold for charity. Lastly, he invited everyone to put his/her concerns and questions on board. He will go through them and try to answer them. He welcomes others to discuss it and help each other to resolve issues. Soon, the website " I. Ken " will be ready to roll out.

Next, Ken updated about his work with the Tourist Bureau. He felt sorry to cause the inconvenience brought along with his recommended dish, "Mixed lard rice". He learned that fans had been calling the Tourist board inquiring where to find this dish. Staffs tried hard to look for it and finally located two stores for tours to be included in its itinerary. Yet, he reminded us to be aware of high cholesterol.

The hostess request Ken to recommend another food and Ken picked the "smelly bean curd". He told the audience that there are two types available on market. One is naturally ferment and the other is made chemically. He gave us a tip on how to distinguish the two. For the ferment, it will be crunchy from outside but remains soft and tender inside when deep-fried. However, the latter will become crunchy both inside and outside when deep-fried.

Q: A Japanese fan raised a question that every Ken fan is eager to find out. When will " I. Ken " Concert DVD will be available for sale?


A: Ken's first reaction was, he does not know. He immediately turned to his manager and said, "Let's ask him". Yet, the answer was,"As soon as possible".

Q: Ken, why do you get your hair cut?

A: Nothing specially, just because summer begins.

(The hostess asked if we like his new hair. Of course, we replied that was great!)

Q: Ken, when will you come to Korea, a question from a Korean fan? Since there was no Korean translator, the hostess asked them if they understand English. In fact, they know a bit of Chinese.

The T-shirts were also on sale at the JVKV Party but those sold at Film Concert got Ken's autograph on the right shoulder. It comes with 3 little badges. The T-shirt with "Why" design is in white with words print in pink. The other acupuncture point design is also in white but the word is in red. They were available in medium or large size.

Little badges are in black, white, gray, red, blue, purple and green. Each set is wrapped in a pink patterned white gift box selling at NT$1500. Each design has only 100 sets of limited offers.

When Ken talked about his ideas, thoughts and expectations on " I. Ken ", he kept going on and on. Perhaps he wanted to communicate so much at a time, he forgot to pause for translation. By the time he stopped, the translator can't remember all and was unable to translate. This happened many times and the hostess has to remind him to pause, allowing time for translation.

Ken and Vanness events were held at the same place. Ken's gathering was scheduled after Vanness's event so we spent quite a while waiting for Vanness fans to come out before we can enter the hall.

Taiwan: Inbound passengers up 2.49 percent in Q1

The number of inbound visitors reached 881,292 in the first quarter of this year, marking a 2.59 percent year-on-year increase, according to statistics released by the Tourism Bureau yesterday.
Japan remained the top source of visitors to Taiwan, while the number of passengers from South Korea posted the largest growth, Tourism Bureau officials said.

Japanese people made 306,898 visits to Taiwan in the first three months of the year, up 4.21 percent, according to the official tallies.

In March alone, the number of visitors from Japan hit a new single month high of 120,599, up 10.18 percent from the year-earlier level. Moreover, both business travelers and leisure travelers registered solid gains during the month, the officials said without providing exact figures.

They attributed the upbeat records to a combination of factors, including the practice of many Japanese companies to organize tours for their employees in March -- the final month of the traditional Japanese fiscal year; a number of festive activities, such as colorful lantern exhibitions, held throughout Taiwan during the month; and an increase of flights offered between the two countries in March.

Another encouraging development during the first quarter of the year was a 16.58 percent year-on-year growth in the number of visitors from South Korea, the officials said, adding that the annual growth rate even reached 27 percent in March.

South Koreans made 63,521 visits to Taiwan during the first quarter, according to the Tourism Bureau tallies. In March alone, 9,528 South Koreans made sightseeing trips to Taiwan, up 66 percent from a year ago. The steep increase might be attributable to Lantern Festival and tourism promotional activities launched by noted Taiwanese pop group F4, the officials said.

In contrast, the number of South Korean business travelers during the same month decreased 5.75 percent to 6,129, the officials said.

During the first quarter,the number of visitors from China-controlled areas of Hong Kong and Macau also registered a rare decline of 5.48 percent to 95,451, while the number of American visitors rose 2.21 percent to 92,648.

Meanwhile, the number of visitors from Singapore surged 7.15 percent to 37,982 and the number of Malaysian visitors also increased 4.97 percent to 28,668.

During the same period, the number of visitors from European countries posted a 6.48 percent growth to 45,706, while the number of visitors from Australia and New Zealand jumped 10.34 percent to 13,740.

According to a Tourism Bureau analysis, the number of tourists or leisure travelers to Taiwan from its major tourist markets totaled 372,653 in the January-March period, up 5.74 percent from the year-earlier level, but the number of business travelers from its major trading partners slid 3.68 percent to 228,436.

43-episodes TV drama "The Legend of Chu Liu Xiang" held a preview yesterday. Producer You Jin Ming expressed that the new version Chu Liu Xiang has many changes. Compared to the old version act by Zheng Shao Qiu, the new one no longer rely on actors to attract audience.

New version "Legend of Chu Liu Xiang" comes with a strong cast. Chu Xiao Tian portrays Chu Liu Xiang. Hu Jing portrays Su Rong Rong. Chen Hao Min acts Hu Tie Hua. Xiao Qiang acts Shui Mu Yin Ji. The old version over-emphasized on individual affection. Audience was not concerned about the story but rather on Zheng Shao Qiu. Whereas, the new version portrays a hero team with less stress on individual charm of Chu Liu Xiang. Instead, he will be portrayed as a human rather than god.

Chu Liu Xiang, played by Chu Xiao Tian, is no longer a legendary knight dressed in snowy white leaving no trace to follow. This time, he appears as an ugly, silly waiter. Together with Chu Xiao Tian's slightly fat stature, the new Chu Liu Xiang looks like Gardfield. You Jin Ming further addressed, "New Chu Liu Xiang won't impress the audience with tricks like flirting fan or pretending cool, it draws attention with the story itself." Others did had a dispute about Chu Xiao Tian on his gained weight. I don't worried about him. According to Gu Long, neither Lu Xiao Feng nor Chu Liu Xiang were handsome. How could one describe the "four eyebrow" Lu Xiao Feng who had mustache like eyebrows as good-looking? Chu Liu Xiang is charming because of his righteousness, his humor and his brevity, not his appearance. Old version CLX treated his fellows with a playful heart. No one knew whom he loved. In this new version, he truly fell in love with a lady, Shi Guan Yin. Unfortunately, Shi Guan Yin over-obsessed in pursuit of power, their relationship did not work out. At the end, Chu Liu Xiang fell for Su Rong Rong.

You Jin Ming also indicates that "Legend of Chu Liu Xiang" will be broadcast during summer holidays on local channels. Meanwhile, they are not considering on sequels. If audience strongly demanded, we will work on other good stories from "Chu Liu Xiang", which had not been covered in the current series, such as "The Bat Legend".

BEIJING, April 29 -- Fans of Taiwan boy band F4 pay attention: your idols have abandoned their name. They now want you to scream "JVKV" instead.

The group's new name is combination of the first letters from each member's English name.

Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu became extremely sought-after throughout Asia in 2001, following the release of the TV series "Meteor Garden," in which the four young heartthrobs play a group called the "Flower Four."

Angie Chai, the drama's producer, explains that the use of the name F4 was permitted by the Japanese publisher of "Hana Yori Dango," or "Boys over Flowers," the comic book the drama was based on. However, Japan has adapted their own version and now the publisher hopes the name of F4 will no longer be used in unofficial "Hana"-related contexts.

She has acknowledged that changing the band's name is not going to be easy, as "F4" has become deeply rooted in fans' hearts.

After "Meteor Garden," the four boys have been seeking to develop careers in both acting and music - together as well as separately.

In 2001, they signed a record deal as F4 with Sony, and since then, have released two albums.

Each member has also produced solo works already.

Fans of Taiwan boy band F4 pay attention: your idols have abandoned their name. They now want you to scream "JVKV" instead.

The group's new name is combination of the first letters from each member's English name.

Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu became extremely sought-after throughout Asia in 2001, following the release of the TV series "Meteor Garden," in which the four young heartthrobs play a group called the "Flower Four."

Angie Chai, the drama's producer, explains that the use of the name F4 was permitted by the Japanese publisher of "Hana Yori Dango," or "Boys over Flowers," the comic book the drama was based on. However, Japan has adapted their own version and now the publisher hopes the name of F4 will no longer be used in unofficial "Hana"-related contexts.

Recently, F4 changed their name to "JVKV". However this new name is only for the endorsement events organized by the Tourist Bureau. Learned about their new name, the four baffled in laughs and found it sounds awkward. In future, when they introduce themselves, they will still say, "Hello, everyone! We are F4!"

"JVKV" is taken from the initials of their English names, "Jerry" Yan Cheng Xu, "Vanness" Wu Jian Hao, "Ken" Chu Xiao Tian and "Vic" Zhou Yu Ming. It ranks in accordance to their ages. This new name was used on the International Fans Meeting held in Taiwan on April 22, 2007. Nevertheless, "JVKV" was not in use other than adapted on their peripheral products. The four still call themselves as F4. Besides, it was heard that Vic's fans discontented with the ranking. From their viewpoint, the second V should represent Vic to be in line with his popularity. It should not be Vanness.

Vic's manager Wang Yi Xuan expressed, JVKV will only be used on occasions when they appear together. Most of the time, four of them will usually have their individual events, so ranking should not become an issue. Vanness Wu's manager Zhou Jun Yi indicated that their order to come on stage were always determined by their ages. What if fans disagree with the ranks? He replied, "Every one of them is of vital importance to us." Couple days ago, someone reported on BBS forum (telnet://ptt.cc) that Vic went to Fu Tian to commemorate his ex-lover, Beatrice Xu (Xu Wei Lun) but Vic denied. Yesterday, it got clarified that the person was not Vic. It was Mike He who went to commemorate on Qing Ming Festival.

Zhu Xiao Tian, Jing Hu, Xiao Qiang, Chen Hao-Min Chen 4 of the well-known actors starring in the joint TV soap opera "Legend of Chu Liu Xiang" base on Gu Long novel "Chu Liu Xiang Legend", will be shown in September in major TV stations.

F4 is the spokespersons for Taiwan tourism/. Japanese and Korean "lady yuppies groups" rushed in to come to Taiwan, along with a "Meteor Garden's" Dao MIng Si and Shan Cai love scenes, that begun their familiarity with Taiwan's charming sceneries. As "Meteor Garden Fans" let's review each of the romantic "Garden" corners.

In order to sell Taiwan to international travelers, The Ministry of Traffic and Communications' Tourism Bureau didn't hesitate to spend heavy funding when they took the idol group F4 as spokespersons for Taiwan tourism. The 4 didn't just recommend the National Palace Museum, fresh waters, Takoro George and Kending scenic spots to tourists but also planned to begin filming the idol drama using tourism as the theme, to create another wave of idol craze.

However, with the rushing in of F4 fans to Taiwan to follow their present endorsement events, as they await for the new idol drama shooting to end, they already starts to review "Meteor Garden's" important scenes. In addition, these "lady professionals" from Japan and Korea use the "Meteor Garden" scenes for their calling, and will round up Taipei and its suburb sceneries in just three days, to recreate the powerful effect of this long time idol drama's behind the scenes locations.

Boys over Flowers Forces F4 Idol Band to Rename Itself

Group formed for Taiwanese live-action show based on manga

The Star magazine and the China Daily newspaper reported that the publisher Shueisha has asked the popular male idol band F4 to rename itself. The band's name "F4" was inspired by a fictional elitist high school clique in the Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango) manga. The artists formerly known as F4 initially came together to play the fictional F4 in the cast of Meteor GARDEN, the 2001 Taiwanese live-action television adaptation of Yoko Kamio's manga.

At first, Shueisha allowed the use of the name as part of the Taiwanese drama series. However, the issue of confusion arose as the idol group's popularity grew across Asia and two native Japanese live-action television adaptations of the manga, Hana Yori Dango and Hana Yori Dango 2 [Returns], began airing in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Angie Chai, the Taiwanese drama's producer, chose the new name JVKV last month after the first initials of the quartet—Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Vanness Wu—in order of descending age.
