Actually asar itong news na ito. Kanina pa ako galit na galit when I was trying to read it in chinese. Ngayon na mas lalo ko siyang naintindihan in English mas lalo akong asar. Diba pag new singer ka dapat i-promote ka talaga kasi paano naman malalaman ng tao na may album ka eh, first album mo nga.

Once again, we are able to observe the power leveraged on unity. Each member of the F4 has launched their individual solo albums since they took on their solo ventures. Other than Jerry Yan, the results from the rest three are less satisfactory. Ken Chu, the most music-talented among the four was the last member to launch his album. Taking three years to refine his album “On Ken’s Time”, it finally released in January of this year. Even thought it was carefully planned, market responses are far less ardent than expected. Impeded sales negatively impact funding on promotion, resulted withdrawal of Ken’s promotion campaign in Mainland China.
Sales are only half of Leehom’s
Ken Chu’s first solo album “On Ken’s Time” has released for almost half a year. Nevertheless, its mainland promotion has postponed again and again. It has been re-scheduled from March to May and suffered further delays since May. Looking at his colleague Leehom Wang, who released his album at the same time, has been to Shanghai twice for album autograph sessions and fans gatherings. Why did the company treat these two in such an unfair arrangements? An insider tried to give us some insights: “the sales of ‘On Ken’s Time’ was not good. Record company lack funding on promotion.” This was the sole reason which caused the cancellation of his mainland promotion campaign. “Ken’s sales are only half of Leehom’s. No doubt the record company would boost Leehom instead of Ken.” Of course, the company has invested a lot on Ken’s album. Looking at its production basis, Li Wei Song, Li Zhuo Xiong, Yu Hong Ming, Tao Zhi, Cai Jian Ya, etc, all are well-known producers and songwriters. The album’s theme song, “Never stop” was tailor-made by Ke You Lun. In spite of these, meticulous fans pinpointed that Ken’s album lack of personal uniqueness. Although Ken attempt to group a new band and to challenge himself with the British Rock style, making music is quite different from listening to music. Ken Chu is only a music fan who is not yet a musician at present.
Failure to leverage by news on love affair
It is not unusual to see stars to propagate their albums through personal romance. Ken Chu was not an exception. The news about “Ken Chu and Li Bing Bing hot kisses at hotel” boomed numerous media during his album promotion period. It was so mysterious why the romance happened during their collaboration in a film a year ago, yet photos are being released in recent. After the incident, Ken admitted in an interview, “I’m not affected or depressed by the incident. So I don’t need any comfort.” He further expressed that they still keep in contact through short messages, leaving so much room for others imagination. Li Bing Bing’s manager Li Xue questioned about its nature when she talked about this incident, “Such a year-old out-dated incident was revealed in a malicious way. We can’t help suspecting that was a scrupulous ploy.”
This incident should have considered a success. Unfortunately, Li Bing Bing was not that famous in Taiwan. Her involvement was unable to draw the general attention to Ken’s album, making no contributions to the album’s sales. Because Ken’s album sales were so low in local Taiwanese market, it directly affected the financial arrangements on his promotion in other regions. Ken’s mainland trip is being hampered due to lack of promotional funding.

sana man lng binigyan siya ng chance ng Sony para magpromote sa china at makita yun response ng tao. anyway, its his first album .. y not give it a try! kaya nga magpopromote to create consumer awareness.... medyo matagal din kasi nagrelease si ken ng album ... at least not at the hype of MG days.

well, in fairness to LeeHom magaling tlga siya sa Music.. everyone knows na Music major siya and knows a lot abt music instruments and music per se. As for ken, kng d gusto ng iba yun music nya, eh wala tayong magagawa dun... what's important is he's trying his best and still learning in the music industry. besides, it's his first ...hope they'll be more considerate! it's quite obvious that this writer is bias or doesn't like the type of music ken does. regarding type of music, it will still depend on the person ... so his/her opinion doesn't count for me.

naguguluhan na tlga ako.. so ngayon binabaligtad naman nila ang storya?! ang sinasabi naman nila ngayon, ginusto ni ken maglabas ng ganitong issue para makatulong sa album sales. anong kinalaman ng love affair sa music?? pwede pang sabihin na for personal publicity or para sa city of sky publicity toh pero sa album sales ... parang wala atang koneksyon!

ayoko na minsan pansinin ang mga ganyang issue. what's important is im happy for ken as his fan. enjoy ako sa music nya and i'll support him all the way. sabi nga nila ... "Nothing's gonna change my love for him!" :)

Now that Meteor Garden is really doing well and F4 fever is back, I watched thier Fantasy Concert in HongKong. I felt the same excitement, I smiled and laughed on thier cute and funny antics, and I was swooned on Ken's face and talent just like the first time I saw this concert....

I was really happy that KAPAMILYA gives us something to look forward to every weekdays.

hi! actually scandalous tlga yang naglabasang pics na yan. kuha yan ng hidden cam sa isang hotel sa China while they are shooting City of Sky. yun gurl na ksama ni ken dyan .. si Li Bing Bing yan (leading lady nya sa series). nakakapagtaka kasi yang mga pics na yan eh last year pa nakuha pero this year lng naglabasan sa mga dyaryo... anyway, wala naman tlgang relasyon si XT at LBB .. cguro minsan nagiging close lng kayo while shooting a series. anway, past is past .. im sure gimik lng yan or maybe for promotion purposes or maybe some other people just love to mess up with people's lives :)

Last year, Korean trend was wide spread in Japan. According to the report from Futabasha Corp. magazines about Korean Artists had made an excellent profit from this trend. Nonetheless, Taiwanese artists have become their recent hot aliens. As Meteor Garden gained increasing popularity in Japan, the magazine “Taiwan Star” designated F4 on their cover page for its premier issue. Of course, it has rewarded with remarkable sales even during its pre-ordering.

The Korean trend irresistibly swept across Japan as Pei Yon Jun become so popular in the area. Magazines focused on introducing Korean artists were in high demand as they were launched by Futabasha Corp. In order not to let the Korean artists being the sole occupant in Japan, Zhao Yi, the Chinese Editorial of Futabasha Corp. foreseen the success of Taiwanese trend. She started ahead with interviews on Taiwan artists. The “Taiwan Star” premier issue released May 20, designated F4 on their cover page because of their overwhelming popularity in Japan recently. In addition, it also features interviews on Jay Chow, Leehom Wang, Chan Bo Lin, Dylan Guo, Avex Lou, etc. The pre-ordering of this magazine at HMV Japan also denoted with high demands.

Almost one third of the coverage is on F4 in this Taiwan Star. It includes photos during the Meteor Garden filming and their charming appearance when they came for the Japanese press conference. It is finely printed to satisfy their fans. Moreover, it also captured full coverage and interviews on Jay Chow, who has been ranked the “No. 1” of current Taiwan pop music. On Jay’s interview, he talked about his music, like Qi Li Xiang, Qi Lang, and his inspiration from Japan. However, the “Zhou Don relationship chart” designed by this magazine still put Jolin Chai as the “girl friend”. It has not been updated to Hou Pei Cen. Jay’s photo album “Peninsula Iron Box” has already started its pre-order in Japan.

Since the news release about Ken’s new movie, there are numerous on-going discussions. I’ve read some articles in related to its production and would like to share with those who don’t read Chinese and are not familiar with the captioned Chinese history.

Please note that these are summarized from various discussions on newspaper and magazine in relate to this production. So far no detail storyboard has been released except for its background. The International Military Tribunal for the Far East (also referred to as the IMTFE, the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal, or the Tokyo Trial) was held to try the leaders of Japan for crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity committed during World War II. It did not cover individual Japanese war crimes, or incidents such as the Nanjing Massacre. Those were dealt with separately, in other cities throught the Asia-Pacific region.

A panel of eleven judges presided over the IMTFE, one each from victorious Allied powers (United States, Soviet Union, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Republic of China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, and the Philippines). Unlike the Nuremberg Trials, there was only a single prosecution, which was led by Joseph B. Keenan, an American. Therefore, despite the diverse panel of judges, the IMTFE had a distinct American bias.

The tribunal convened on May 3, 1946, and was adjourned on November 12, 1948.

War Crimes Tribunal in Tokyo

Following the Cairo Declaration of December 1, 1943, in which the United States, Great Britain, and China announced their determination "to restrain and punish the aggression of Japan" in the Far East theater, the Allies pronounced their policy regarding Japanese war crimes in the Potsdam Declaration on July 26, 1945.

"We do not intend that the Japanese shall be enslaved as a race or destroyed as a nation," read the declaration, "but stern justice shall be meted out to all war criminals, including those who have visited cruelties upon our prisoners."

About two weeks after the surrender, the Japanese government agreed that the provisions of the Potsdam Declaration would be carried out, and on January 19, 1946, General Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers (SCAP), issued a special proclamation that announced the establishment of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (IMTFE).

Eleven judges, nine from the nations that signed the Instrument of Surrender, one from India and one from the Commonwealth of the Philippines, were eventually appointed by the SCAP.

Following monthsof preparation, the IMTFE, also known as the Tokyo War Crimes Trial, first convened on April 29, 1946, and four days later the prosecution opened its case, charging the defendants with "Conventional War Crimes," "Crimes against Peace," and "Crimes against Humanity." The trial continued for more than two and a half years, hearing testimony from 419 witnesses, and admitting 4,336 exhibits of evidence including depositions and affidavits from 779 other individuals.

Humble mor hom gets an upgrade

The production of northern-style shirts, known locally as mor hom, is undergoing a transformation, with fashionable new designs and a marketing campaign to help the shirts sell in export markets.

The Commerce Ministry yesterday unveiled a plan to promote traditional Thai fabrics and clothing by negotiating with popular Taiwanese boy band F-4 to present the new mor hom designs to international markets.

Also, several Hong Kong brand names – such as Giordano, Samuel and Kevin, among others – will be approached to include mor hom fabrics in their new collections.

"We're trying to change the image of mor hom, so they're more fashionable, and we're looking to enlarge the target market by capturing more teenagers and young people, rather than focusing on older clients as in the past," said Deputy Commerce Minister Suriya Lapvisutthisin.

The new mor hom designs will focus on the fabric. Different weaves will be used to ensure a high-quality cloth. The ministry has hired Italian textile consultants to help with both the fabric and designs.

Suriya said the ministry wanted to encourage a new generation to accept mor hom, but the traditional designs were unlikely to attract the targeted customer group, he said.

In years past, the design was developed solely for the domestic market, but now the ministry is looking for feedback from potential export markets.

There's a positive for the makers of the shirts too – the new fabrics will sell for a lot more than the originals.

24 Oras news against meteor garden the full edition, last Monday, GMA7 news program ate dust from the ABS CBN chinovela. And based on the rating that came out in Metro Manila,Meteor Garden Full Edition got 30% vs the 25% of 24 Oras. On the other hand, in Mega Manila MG still garnered a 30% against 26% of 24 Oras. This serves as proof that Meteor Garden and F4 are still in the hearts of the Filipinos.
As ABSCBN's way of giving thanks to its loyal supporters, the Meteor Garden stars will visit the Philippines again!
