ning, there is nothing special with the Ken Evolution Team. Kasi tayo lahat ito. It's just that these people are here to coordinate, organize and implement ebs or activities. This is not an official club or whatever. If you'll notice, we represent different Ken clubs/groups. This is to unite us all. We have the KCIFC which is the official fan club around the globe. But in the RP we have different F4 and Ken Chu clubs or F4 and Ken threads, in the matter of sites, like here in Tsinoy, Kensworld, F4 International, KCIFC-Philippines, et. al. We also have Filipino members at the Asian Fanatics thread of Ken as well as in Only F4 which comes from different clubs here. At karamihan sa atin ay members ng mga clubs o sites na ito. I hope everybody understand this. We shall not be divided by the names of clubs, affiliation with clubs and/or membership with the different Ken Chu or F4 Clubs. Kasi, Filipino lahat tayo and we are here to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy Ken Chu and F4 as a whole. Umiikot tayo sa ganun. Kapag may eb kahit sino sa apat, we make it a point na nandun tayo. Because we love these four guys.

So ning, you should post your idea kasi napakaganda. And I'm sure lahat ng ken and F4 sisters will agree with you. Please, everybody, if you have concerns regarding some issues which you think might be of help to us or to others but you think outside of the norm, feel free to pm me. As for the likes of teacher ning's idea, don't hesitate,don't think of the evolution team in this matter. Think of all the F4 people as ONE. Wala na yung kanya-kanyang club mentality lalo na kung beneficial to a lot of people. Kasi ning, yang idea mo can be realized with the help of all the people here. The Ken Chu Before and After Music

I’m not really familiar with F4’s Ken Chu. I only heard of his personality, likes, background and so on from others. Getting in contact with Ken Chu gave me two different cognitions of him.

Perhaps it’s due to his fully packed schedule which made him mentally and physically exhausted (On the day he featured for HMC, he already did 2 interviews and still have 3 more to go!). Hence, he seemed to be a bit moody and agitated when we were choosing the clothes for photo-taking. I was worried for him by looking at his wrinkled eyebrows and weary eyes.

But fascinatingly, when he requested to change the music we were playing into the ones he like which were from his iPod, it seemed as if he suddenly turned into someone else and immediately became a bright soul. His glowing spirit changed him into a really gentle man!

From then on, I strongly believe that music can really change one’s life, and I understood that Ken Chu is born to work in this field.

To be honest, I don’t have a really deep understanding of F4. To list out their past? I’m sorry; I only have limited to give. Today, only Ken Chu of F4 is before me, no one else, no comparisons, just solely understanding his background, views and then unearthing his three "separate" relationships.

All from the Same Root

To me, one who has never lived in Taiwan and studied in Singapore, knows very little about life in these places. All I know is that they all possess a strong sense of traditional Chinese colors. Ken stayed in several places during his childhood, so what he sees and feels will certainly be different. So the first question I asked him was, "What do you think of the national characteristics of these 3 places?"

Without any hesitation, Ken replied definitely, "Comparing with any overseas country, these 3 places still preserves very much of the Chinese culture." By Ken’s appearance, like his long hair, I thought that he had a westernized character…

One pic is the petrol station. He said, he pass by this station every day.,He take this picture from car thru the glass. Everyday he pass by, he can see that the character "¥Û" was dropped but no one fixed it. (hehehe...vry o.c.)He thinks, maybe this is a simple place, the outlook is not that important.

the Black/White photo is a sky.He said, this was taken after a long working day. He wanted to go to toilet and asked the driver to stop the car. However, when he went down, he saw there was a very beautiful sky. It seems that he could touch the cloud.So he took the picture instead of went to toilet!!

Just received some more news from Fan meeting. After Ken sings Meteor Rain and disappears from stage, the fans sing the beach song together. They sing very good and repeat several times. And when Ken appear again, he join the singing together. At this moment, the camera is giving Ken a close up. My friend see Ken's eyes are red, seems there is tears inside.

In the last last goodbye, Ken give a fly kiss, and show his hand from left to right, giving the kiss to everyone. Then, he does something the same as Kimura did in the Japanese drama 'Pride". To me, one who has never lived in Taiwan and studied in Singapore, knows very little about life in these places. All I know is that they all possess a strong sense of traditional Chinese colors. Ken stayed in several places during his childhood, so what he sees and feels will certainly be different. So the first question I asked him was, "What do you think of the national characteristics of these 3 places?"

teacher ning...hello kapatid....about your idea...its really a good one since madami talaga tayo kababayan na nasalanta ng bagyo at talagang malungkot ang kanilang pasko at bagong taon...its a good idea to use the birthday of Ken for a very special fundraising event...however, i think the organizers need to discuss the matters and how to go on with the program...but it really is a very good opportunity to show unity....

vayz...i agree about what you pointed out na whether we carry a different name, its all the same....we love KEN and we love F4....wasn't it shakespeare who said...that a rose would still smell the same if it goes by a different name...after all, at the end of the day...we all love and supposrt the same guy, whether we are f4-ken, only f4, KRL, kensworld or whatever name we go with...

In an interview in a Japanese Magazine, Ken said that he wants to release his second album entitled "Getting Real" after the Chinese New Year.

H – But you can’t deny the fact that Meteor Garden brought you the flame of fame.

K – I agree, the first time when we completed the drama, the 4 of us was very worried. Not sure if the public like our show or will they be able to accept us. At that time, we release a Music album and arranged for an autography session. That day came but we could not be there because the entire place was swamped with fans.

We were not there to see but they videotaped it down and we saw it from the studio. I was totally shock because in my memory that has only happened to The Beatles. The fans refused to leave, the whole place was overcrowded and they were longing and waiting for us to appear. It was really very dangerous because there were too many people and the stage was not stable for such an occasion. I was really quite disappointed, however due to safety of everybody we don’t have a choice. I was shock and surprise and ask myself if this was real.

Because my initial thought of choosing showbiz as a career was it could probably fetch a better income faster however I understand that I would need to make equal amount of sacrifices. I have never thought it would be in this manner. My original thinking was I will progress slowly to build up my popularity and then stabilized my career from there. Little did I expect this to happen.

N – While working in a Japanese restaurant, Xiao Tian was spotted by Angie Chai. In showbiz, Xiao Tian is popular and famous but yet he maintains his very innocent characteristic of a very clear mind and overly forgiving personalities. Having to support his own school fees, Xiao Tian started working in Singapore secretly during his teenage days.

The working hours dominated all his personal times, even though it was hard on him, he has never complaint. Xiao Tian says, boys must be independent and should not think of just relying on their parents. N – Not sure if it was just coincident, Xiao Tian’s previous jobs have always been related to food. Xiao Tian is proud of his culinary skill. He says even if there were just plain vegetables and beancurd, he could turn them into an awesome dish. Maybe because he has been very busy with his work, hence given that little time to do his cooking gives him a big satisfaction. The most important fact is his acquaintance with food has marked a significant turnaround point in his live.

H – It is just too coincident, I understood that when Meteor Garden producer spotted you, you were a Captain in a Japanese restaurant.


K – Right, At that time….but the word Captain is just being nice. There were just 2 persons in the entire restaurant, one is the boss cum cook and another one is me, a worker of everything…

H - Then…

K – Well… I was very happy then, my live was very fulfilling. I had 2 jobs at that time. From 12pm to 4pm, I worked in a pet hospital doing pet’s grooming type of work. Thereafter, I will go home for a short break. After the little rest, I will proceed to ‘Shier Xiao’ restaurant and finished my work there at about 3am in the morning.

H – That’s really busy…

K – Yes….In the beginning, the restaurant’s business was very poor, no customer. Then gradually business grew, it was almost full house everyday. The feeling of this achievement is just great. My highest record was, the entire restaurant was full house for a continuous of 4 hours, customers come and go. I was the only worker in the shop. I managed to satisfy every customer’s needs, I was so, so happy.


H – How did you do that?

K – At that time, all the customers thought I was the boss. Thus, when the real boss came out of the kitchen to say ‘hello’, they thought he was just a chef.

In the interview Ken said....
He wants to release 2nd album after Chinese New Year.
but in the process of making music, sometimes, things do not always go on as he wants.
so he cannot say when.

In fact, regarding this album, he does almost everything on his own.
so he thinks it will take a lot of time.

He also said that the title " Getting Real" is temporary title.
" Getting Real" is the concept of this album.
Everything will develop from this concept.

vayz, aahh... haven't heard na nabanggit nya radiohead kasi.. re the cure naman e inde rin ako masyado dun. actually, sa binanggit nyang brit group e suede lang yung talagang naging fave ko.. sensya na sa iba pero di ko ganun ka-fave ang coldplay e pero i like some of their songs.. pero kung kasama yung u2 (irish band) sa fave nya e grabe na talaga ito.. to the max na ito.. fave ko din talaga kasi sa brit bands e oasis.. d best!!!!! hehehe.. :D

Eating, Drinking while playing music. “Requirements of a Good Man: Being able to cook.”

F4 member Ken Chu arrived in Japan. He didn’t come to promote a drama, or a photo book but rather he came to promote his new recipe book. In the book you can find not only delicious recipes but also Ken’s own life and reflections.

During the initial stages of the planning of this book, I didn’t really think about these things too much. But when I was writing it I wanted to relate to the fans what I was thinking for the past 7 years and using recipes was a convenient way of doing that. But when it was released, I learned of the many impressions and feelings of fans from all over. One of which is a housewife’s reaction, there were some husbands and children who didn’t usually go home to eat but after consulting the recipe book and she made some dishes it made them want to eat their meals at home thus reuniting the family members. I think this book could be useful in this way.

Ken professes: “I am a person who loves to eat.” In the essay, he wrote that eating is happiness, cooking is happiness.

How can you make such a meal?

“You must seriously read and understand the 20 dishes in this book, actually during this part of the meal I laughed. Go to the market to buy on season foodstuffs and then after that cook. For me its best to use wooded spoons and equipment and a Chinese made knife. It’s a famous product of Jin Men Dao Island in Taiwan; it’s really very excellent. I always play music when I am cooking, usually its light music. If it were heavy music, I would conveniently play some music and not cook. Cat? If I don’t open a can of food, it won’t come (laughs). I usually drink while I am cooking. My favorite drink is whisky. If you drink slowly, you can drink a lot. Ken during your interviews or filming you also discover delicious foodstuff, do you have some special food that you want to eat from a particular country?

I have never really thought of a place but I haven’t eaten a lot of things, I want to eat those foodstuffs that I have never tried before. For example, spicy chocolate from Central South America I want to try that no matter what, because we don’t have that in our culture. No matter where I am, I want to eat the famous dish of that place.”

Ken you’re so curiously prolific, you understand novelty foods so much. We ask Ken a not so common question. If you can use food to compare each and every F4 member, what will you come up with?

“Hahaha….! Everyone knows that sometime before Ken would often prepare a meal for Vic, because Vic doesn’t really know how to do it. But recently because of a drama, Vic now knows how to cook. Ken do you like to eat Vic’s cooking?

Right now each of the F4 members are active in their respective fields. Ken you have your first ancient drama “Chu Liu Xiang” you play the Shuai Chu Liu Xiang, he just finished the arduous filming of the said drama.

“WuXia drama was made a long time ago but Chu Liu Xiang’s way of thinking and manner of handling things in life etc. is very close to how modern people view their life. This is his charm.”

In the last chapter of the Japanese version you included some shots taken at XinJiang. Ken took some ambience photos; among them is a signboard from a gas station, the character has already fallen into a slanting position, Ken felt it was very amusing.

This place and Chinese culture don’t have a lot in common; have you come across some delicious food in this place?

There is really no special difference in the food and other things. Xin Jiang belongs to an ethnic minority place. I myself might have some ethnic blood in me. There was this one occasion that three other actors went to eat shish kebab because we ate too much the next day the three of them had stomach ache (laughs). Didn’t I say that sheep can increase body temperature? Its nutritional value is also very high. Hey, I have gotten a lot of nutrition, but I haven’t used up that energy yet (laughs).

Will you release a new album after the Spring Festival?

This year is my seventh year in the business. Because next year is already my 8th year I have to carefully consider the next phase of my life. Up until now, the work that I am doing now isn’t my first choice. But after this I will plan it well, after considering all sorts of professions and businesses I will do the kind of work I like. Of course, I will also be acting and singing but I will be slowly doing behind the scenes kind of work, something like a producer. Right now, I am in the process of working out an outline for a drama. The concept includes the relationship between “People and Humanity,” “People and the Times,” “People and the Environment.” I want to depict all sorts of contradictions and make a drama out of it. The general idea is a love story. I thought of these essential factors and incorporated it into a love story.

Starting the end of this year up until next year, I will be doing my second solo album. My plan is to finish it by Chinese New Year but with music you can’t control the situation, therefore I can’t definitely say when it will be finished. I did almost all the work for this album. That is why it ‘s taking some time. I am also looking forward to the day when it will be finished (laughs).

I started it 6 months ago after that I went on filming, I haven’t done any work for 4 months now (laughs). This is the only time I can talk about the concept. The title of the first album is “On Ken’s Time,” the next one is “Getting Real,” this is the working title. But I want to develop more on this concept. The melody is easy listening, the relaxing kind that gives off a gentle feeling. Xiao Tian hopes to be an accomplished artist using the simplest way of transmitting positive news to his fans it’s the simplest way to communicate as an artist.

That singing posture fascinates fans.

The day after the interview was the Yokohama Fan Meeting, he taught fans to cook on the spot, we saw him present gifts, Ken and his fans were very happy in the exchange. On stage a fan began to cry, he politely embraced her, he sang “Meteor Rain” with the fans, in the end, “take care on your way back” Ken was full of charm as he said goodbye to send off his fans.

Xiao Tian's Japanese concert:

Yesterday, I have been continuously attending a meeting with Xiao Tian, coordinating the content of his Japanese concert. The first concert will be on February 24, 2007. The venue is the same place where Vanness and Jerry held their activity, it’s the Tokyo International Forum Hall A this time the concert will adopt an unplugged style, Acoustic live is better known to the Japanese. There won’t be a magnificent stage, costumes or dance numbers.

Xiao Tian has persisted through music and he hopes that using the simplest form, he can make everyone feel his fervor for music.

He will choose the melodies from his solo album and get what he likes. He loves the music of other singers. The songs will have a fresh arrangement. Xiao Tian is also the producer of this show. I believe Xiao Tian will have a Merry Busy X’mas.

Vanness and I will go to the States tomorrow and look for Santa Claus in a party; with this we wish all of you a happy and cheerful Christmas holiday.

Xiao Tian's Japanese concert:

Yesterday, I have been continuously attending a meeting with Xiao Tian, coordinating the content of his Japanese concert. The first concert will be on February 24, 2007. The venue is the same place where Vanness and Jerry held their activity, it’s the Tokyo International Forum Hall A this time the concert will adopt an unplugged style, Acoustic live is better known to the Japanese. There won’t be a magnificent stage, costumes or dance numbers.

Xiao Tian has persisted through music and he hopes that using the simplest form, he can make everyone feel his fervor for music.

He will choose the melodies from his solo album and get what he likes. He loves the music of other singers. The songs will have a fresh arrangement. Xiao Tian is also the producer of this show. I believe Xiao Tian will have a Merry Busy X’mas.

Vanness and I will go to the States tomorrow and look for Santa Claus in a party; with this we wish all of you a happy and cheerful Christmas holiday.

Were there any problems during the making this book and are there new revelations?

Ken: Since my debut this is now my eighth year. I wanted to make something that remained in peoples’ memory as a commemoration. This is also my way of informing my fans my activities. Therefore, it is not especially serious. My day-to-day living is the content of the book it is as it is, and it reported to everyone. I began making it around February or March of last year.

It took less than a year to complete it. I wanted to make it slowly spending time with it because it was really an important book for me. The production of the book enabled me to look at my past, the challenges that I placed on myself, testing myself was accomplished, and a new argument thought was formed. I was able to feel refreshed while making the book.

When Vic lived close by, were you able to prepare a meal for him?

Ken: I was able to prepare a meal for him before. But those chances decreased two years back. He would occasionally eat instant noodles. I uttered these words first and invited him. "It is not good for the body. Let's eat together in my house. " Though it is introduced in the recipe book. The dishes that I make are not special and not difficult.

These are just home-cooked meals that can be eaten anywhere in Taiwan. It is a simple menu that gives thought to the body and health. Therefore, the dish I made for Vic is easy as the noodles and rice ball but he said, "Wonderful! Anything can be made." I was certainly pleased.

Did you write in your book the favorite dish of Vic?

Ken: "Fried Pork and Carrot" etc. There are 4 or 5 kinds, which he likes but I can’t recall them now. However, he always eats two servings of rice even when he is already full. He always gets a second helping of the meal, which I cooked. Originally, if a lot of it is not eaten. It remains in my impression.

Have the other members eaten your cooking?

Ken: Unfortunately only Vic has tried it. There wasn’t any chance. The preferences in life style and of each meal varies. Jerry seems to be fond of eating meals that his family prepared. Van Ness grew up in the United States. He likes European style dishes more than Chinese cuisine.

Vic is the youngest. Because it seemed that he doesn’t know much about eating habits, he is easier to manage, I was not deserted. (laugh) But I seem better in managing my eating habits now. The reason is because he doesn't come to my house to eat meals.

Please tell us an episode that happened while doing the film. What was the feeling at the movie set?


Ken: This is a movie from history that treats a serious theme. Therefore, the actors and all of the staff worked seriously; so as not to destroy its historical background, close attention to detail was done. I think that rash criticism and jokes in this movie is not related. Most especially in a serious movie the actor appears to act the usual attitude, the remark, and the idea. Therefore, I myself had to be managed. Putting in my thoughts that I am facing the same situation is natural and necessary.

It is certainly possible for the performers and the staff to be united in having the same feelings during the movie production. It is also possible to co-star with a senior actor who has an acting experience of 20-25 years. The person who had been doing the acting for 50 years from the age of the film in monochrome is also on this film.

It was my pleasure to meet and experience working with big senior stars and to have worked with them. Recalling the movie now, the set overflowed with tension. Joking was impossible in that kind of an atmosphere. <smile>

Ken takes care of his meal representation together with his physical condition and general well being. Since his debut seven years ago his high style living had to be stopped, observed and healed. A slow life and slow food are practiced. Therefore it gives an impression that his face is resolute and you can feel the strained muscles from his clothing.

What do you do on holidays?

Ken: My day starts at 10 o'clock or 10:30, the day is first started with a leisurely breakfast in the morning. After that, I do my daily yoga exercises with that done and the housework finished. I work out a sweat at the sports club in the afternoon. I also jog. I prepare dinner for myself then I sleep early at night. The “early to bed and early to rise” lifestyle was recently practiced.

What future activity are you most anxious about? What age are you going to be this year?

Ken: I want to be healthy and take care of my body more and more. I want to work slowly following my work pattern last year.

Is there a chance to see you in Japan?


Ken: I want to go by all means if the opportunity comes, but this also a chance. <smile>. If there is a chance and it goes well to have some sort of cooperation in Japan, there are talks; that’s the best. But nothing is for sure. I don’t want to expect much from it. It is not possible to make an excuse when it’s going to be a disappointment. But thank you to all the fans in Japan.

I am glad to hear that a lot of people are looking out for my future works. I am always surprised at the high quality of each field and work attitude in Japan. Therefore the desire to get over the language barrier and wanting to make something with the Japanese actors and staff is strong. I hope it can be realized one day.

Mr. Naoki Kimura is really the cameraman that dealt with "F4@Tokyo." When he appeared, the delight in Ken’s face as clear as the sun was vivid. The both love cats, like cameras and biking. They got along really well during the photography session of the book and instantly became friends.

He was able to meet Mr. Kimura again after a long time. Ken approached him at once, with love, patted his back and held his shoulder. Words are not needed for them.

Mr. Kimura says, “As for taking the picture of a friend I become shameful.” Ken replied, “Why is Mr. Kimura ashamed when I am not ashamed?” <laugh> He makes fun of him and the surroundings are in harmony. Actually, Ken’s feelings have gone somewhere during the course of the interview.

Ken’s thoughts were, “What will I eat with Mr. Kimura? What restaurant is good? “ These were his only thoughts. At the end of our interview I requested Ken, “Will you sign this book and dedicate it to the reader.”

“Oh, You bought? Thank you! His whole face was filled with a smile. “Happy New Year” Ken wrote. I thought that this word signaled this new years luck.

MERRY CHRISTMAS SA LAHAT!!!


Ganito po gagawin natin para sa mga donations natin on January 13, during the Ken birthday celebration. Lahat ng donations whether old/usable clothes, groceries, school supplies, mats, pillows, pillow cases et. al. ay babalutin natin ng gift wrapper. Talagang pang birthday gift that symbolizes Ken’s birthday. We will have a table there para pagpatungan. Afterwards, yun na din ipapamigay ng foundation para sa typhoon victims. Anyway, sabi naman ni teacher ning eh pa-birthday natin kay Ken. We might as well do it the Ken’s way.


Some tips sa lahat, kasi we will all join in the games:
try the longest breathe you can muster saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEN…. Tapos, name that tune at kung saan nya kinanta or pinerform. Praktis na tayo;)
