Zhu Xiao Tian’s father dies of illness this July 10. But because he is filming CLX in XinJiang he has to constantly endure his depression. Yesterday, Manager Zhi Xiang Li denied, that when Zhu Xiao Tian received the information work stopped at the moment he is still filming and he will continue to film at the end of the month and then return to Taiwan.

In this new edition of XiangShuai, Zhu Xiao Tian went to XinJiang last June 25, before long; he received information that because of the hardening of the liver his father entered the hospital and at the early morning of July 10 his father passed away. If Xiao Tian can’t accept his 59-year old father’s death, and he will request for a long vacation, a lot of other actors and artists will be affected. He has decided to let the drama continue on filming, he will return to Taiwan either on the 24th or the 25th. He will request for a maximum of one weeks leave so he can say goodbye to his father. They have pre arranged to hold the ceremony at the end of the month

Ken Chu: The uninhibited and unconventional life is what I have been pursuing.

During his free time Ken just lies down and sleeps in a chair beside the roadside.

Summer in the XinJiang area, the sun sets at about 10:30 pm everyday, during the day the heat seems like your inside a stove and every night it’s so cold that its like an ice house. Because he wants to play the part in “The Legend of Chu Liu Xiang,” everyday Ken is wrapped in 3 layers of costumes inside and another 3 layers outside. He laughingly said that everyday it seems he will faint and have a heatstroke. “But I am ok la. The production group is quite interesting, here in XinJiang there is a different landscape its distinguishing features are very evident. When I have the time I will just use the camera and take pictures.”

When Ken was asked to play the role of XiangShuai it already acted a lot of resentments/reproaches, some people say he is too fat but the investors took a fancy at him. Ken Chu was surprised cause he said, “Getting the lead role of Gu Long’s novel isn’t really that important. Originally he liked the role of Hu Tie Hua more, because he always wears a beard, and he wants to pursue the uninhibited and unconventional kind of life.”


R: Do you like to read sword man’s fiction?

K: When I was a child I just love to read sword man’s fiction. Boys always have the dream of a martial arts hero, so from Liang Yu Sheng to Wen Rui An, even Zhu Lou Zhu, basically all the famous fictions I have read them all, but I haven’t read a lot of Gu Long’s works. Jin Yong’s 13 works I have read them. But because Jin Yong’s fantasy novels are many, they have a powerful and constrained style of traveling. In those days after I read some of Gu Long’s works there is a bit I don’t understand, so I have given up. I remember when I was small I read the first edition of Jin Yong’s work “XiaKe Xing” I read the book non-stop when I finished it, it was midnight. I think its pretty straightforward.”

R: Do you like that fiction is adapted for movies and TV? Have you seen Zheng Shao Qiu’s version of Chu Liu Xiang?

K: Of course I like it. Basically I have seen all the first generation novels that were adapted for TV. “Shen Diao Xia Lu,” “She Diao Ying Xiong Zhuan,” “XiaKe Xing,” “Jue Dai Shuang Jiao,” I all like them. I have seen a bit of Zheng Shao Qiu’s performance of CLX. Because when I was young my papa really liked this kinds of TV dramas. I would watch a lot of these things with him. But as for “XiangShuai Legend,” I don’t have a deep recollection of it. I just remembered that Zheng Shao Qiu natural and unrestrained and that there were a lot of women beside him and those acrobatic fight scenes. But for this edition of CLX, I was thinking of finding the version of ZSQ cause this are classics but then classics lets your brain store this image and it will only cause me to limit myself. So I just gave up the idea of watching it. Reading the novel and on one hand watching the drama, I hope it will make you understand essence of Gu Long’s better.

R: Investors say that they settle on you because of your “devilish” side. Is Chu Liu Xiang a character you can understand?

K: I feel that he is an extremely logical person. Actually, in Gu Long’s novel the characters are not that important, it’s the story that is important. The characters only assume the novel’s content, its bearing. Chu Liuhsiang to the same to all females everything is just a casual acquaintance; there is no special sentiment. He is a little naughty, but he is always a little cautious. Honestly, I like the Hu Tie Hua’s role, because he always keeps his beard. His unconventional life; is the one I pursue. Mainly, I will not stand in the mirror and shave. It’s a pity; the investors gave me the CLX role. When I learned that I got the role, I spent a good twenty minutes shaving my beard clean.

R: Previously there was a photography of you that was published that seemed to show you were fat. Some people say that you can’t portray the dashing role of CLX, in the final analysis you seem a little fat.

K: No way, how can I be fat ah? Actually, I have been like this for so many years, my body weight has been constant. I am 1.82 meters tall, I have maintained an average of 74-78 kilos. This is in accord with the standard body figure. As for that picture, it’s because of health reasons. It’s very easy for me to bloated, at Yun Nan because I am unaccustomed to the climate I bloat easily. Also that picture was taken when I drank a little wine in a wedding party, the paparazzi took a blurred picture of me that came out muddled, it made others think that I am fat. But actually, I am not fat.

R: What are the circumstances during the photo shoot of CLX?

K: Honestly, this is my 7th year in this circle; over the last 5 years this is the happiest time for me. In this place, I got to know Chen Hao Min, Qiu Ci Xuan, every after filming day, we just walk to the nearby vendor stand and buy kebab, drink some beer, in this place it doesn’t really matter cause no one knows us, that is why we are so at ease. Qiu Ci Xuan is a South Korean beauty; she acted in “Shi Guan Yin” and many drama plays, when we act together its pretty good.

R: What are you plans after doing this drama?

K: After filming this drama, I want to stop filming for a while; and will concentrate on recording my album. Originally the schedule for the release of my album was Spring Festival of next year. But because of this drama it was set aside temporarily, it will be moved to another schedule.
R: Can we talk a little about emotions?

K: That is a blank space la. Honestly speaking, I am old already, I am not young anymore, and when I was young I would feel very lonely, honestly speaking I am already used to this kind of life, having blank spaces in my life. I feel that having too much emotion is troublesome. Falling in love will restrain me too much. Right now, I am quite ok, I can always talk to friends, being together with friends, isn’t that ok?

R: Can we talk a little bit about what happened with that embrace between you and Li Bing Bing, did that give you a lot of pressure?

K: I am sorry, really very sorry. I am not willing to talk about that matter. I will not answer any question that has anything to do with her. Because I am a man, it’s enough that I have “swallowed” this scandal I will not let a woman have a rough time.

R: Do you and the other F4 members link up?

K: Actually we don’t have any work together. We don’t usually link up, mainly because our life’s attitude is not the same but every time we see each other the feeling is ok.

R: Some people say that you have robbed Jerry Yan of the CLX role?

K: Honestly speaking I will not rob anyone for a role. Actually, at first, I didn’t want to accept the role of CLX. I don’t really need to rely on a role to prove who I am. Being in this business for 7 years, I unexpectedly found myself to be busy, I don’t even have my own life. This isn’t really what I want. Afterwards, talking with the company, we think that could be my breakthrough; adding to that at the end of last year I started learning shadow boxing. Before my limb movements compared to the other F4 was really poor, but after practicing Taichi for several months, I discovered that I can now spread out my arms and legs (I think he can do a ballet split) I am pretty nimble.

R: Do you still link up with Chai Zhi Ping (Angie Chai)?

K: I have ah. She said she would come to XinJiang to visit my work. She is my benefactor. She is not my manager, but if she needs him I will give first consideration to her.

R: Do you regret entering the entertainment circle?

K: I can’t go as far as saying regret. Emotional turns of events are a plenty. For the past years, I have encountered a lot of human relationships and degrees. I saw a lot of ugly and hateful things and I made me grow up. Thinking that I have walked this road is a miracle!

R: Now back to the topic of life, previously I heard that you released your own cookbook?

K: That is correct. Actually, cooking is my diversion. I really like the cooking process.

R: Have you cooked for a girl in the past?

K: Of course, if it happens to be your girl friend’s birthday and because you don’t have any money, I will just cook a lot of dishes and make her eat of course you have to finish it off with sweet words. Nowadays there are a lot of girls who can’t cook. If you encounter a girl you like, be a family man’s girl. And if the boy can cook some tasty dishes, I think that girl will easily be touched.

R: Have you ever thought of being a master chef if you’re not an actor anymore?

K: It has passed my mind; right now what I really want to do is study, something that is related to food and drinks. But to go as far as to say a master chef, that needs a special talent.

Zhu Xiao Tian’s father passed away a little after dawn due to hardening of the liver. At the moment, Zhu Xiao Tian in is Xin Jiang filming CLX; he has no way of being in his father’s last moment. He asked for a leave at the last week of the month so that he could return to Taipei to say his last goodbye. According to our understanding, a day of delay will cost RMB 50,000 or (NT$ 2 million) loss. The production group said: “If it is necessary, then he can return.”

Zhu Xiao Tian was independent from his parents since he was young; his mother sent him and his younger sister to Singapore to study, after middle school he returned to Taiwan, through his efforts he studied and worked at the same time. His relationship with his father wasn’t really that close. At the beginning of this month, Zhu Papa was brought to the intensive care, later the hospital informed him that his father was terminally ill. He took the entire situation to account; he will continue to stay in Xin Jiang to film.

Ken Zhu talks about sweetness and bitterness tomorrow via telephone


Ken Zhu's father passed away last week; he bore sad strongly, have one day off to drama group only, then shooting “The Chuliuxiang Legend” as usual. Staff member reveal, after obtaining father’s death message, Ken Zhu wailed in his room alone. Chen HaoMin and Wang Chuanyi who shooting CLX with Zhu Xiaotian feel very sorry for him, support and encourage the good friend with action by accompany him as much as possible.

While in fact when going to Xinjiang for shooting CLX at the end of last month, ken worries about his father's illness very much. He keeps close contact with the family every day. He says frankly that he has prepared for it, however, when father has really gone, he is still extremely grief for he could not see father for the last time.

On the other hand, ”City of Sky” that performed by Ken Zhu and Li Bingbing' will be shown at Ettoday 8pm on 21st. Ken cannot come back to Taiwan for promotion. Ettoday plans to have a telephone conversation with Ken during the press conference tomorrow. Ken will chat with the media about the sweetness and bitterness about “City of Sky” and we can know about his current state of mind also.

I have just made a brief phone call with my TW friend as she is in a hurry.
She will post out all the details in KCIFC TW later, just go there to have update.

Today's MC is da bing
When the MC first called Xiao Tian, he seems couldn't hear it and make no reply.
Xiao Tian's voice is not very good. We don't know whether it is due to the phone receiving problem or not. My friend could not hear Xiao Tian clearly.
All thru the phone conversation, Xiao Tian talked mostly about City of Sky.
Some reporters asked about the love affairs news, but it seems that Xiao Tian couldn't hear it and not reply.
Some also asked about Chuliuxiang matters, Xiao Tian replied this is not related to City of Sky and doesn't want to talk about it.
