Know what, Mr. Administrator Robert, I think you have to disable the green dot and the reputation meter soon. This early I can see that it would only encourage infighting among the forumers.

Most of them I believe, can only work in an environment where they will not be watched by some unseen forces.

The reputation feature has been tirned off. It agree that it may be abused in the future.

The REFERRAL feature "...is a feature that will allow your community members to be rewarded for recruiting new users to your bulletin board. A user can gain a referral by attracting a new user to the vBulletin forum via a special referral link."

Note:
Your users can find out their specific referal URL by visiting your vBulletin board FAQ page (by clicking on the button at the top of the page). Once a user has found out their unique URL, they can then pass the URL on to their friends and colleagues. If any of these visitors register for an account on your bulletin board via this special link, the user will earn one referral.

I would like to ask the moderators of the Biz Matters forum to take a look at the various threads I've noticed in the Careers section that tend to reflect a biz opportunity rather than a career.

There should be a clear definition as to what a career and a biz opportunity is. Dapat, I think that the "career" section of the Biz Matters section should be renamed to "jobs" to reflect those who are into jobs, and not biz opportunities, such as invitations to make money online, and stuff like that.

This matter is ripe for a review because I noticed one biz opportunity post that appeared on BOTH the biz matters section AND the career section. This constitutes flooding. I have posted a message to the thread starter about this.

if your PM facility is enabled, you will receive a warning message from the respective mods. otherwise, a warning will be posted on the thread where you had a violation. it is the forumer's responsibility to check back on their posts. :)

Can the administrator disable the send receipt confirmation in private messaging. It adds an extra step before sending the message, makes private message a very inefficient process. You can even do some performance metric analysis and find it creates too much overhead on this board.

Pretty much, a person is sending 2 messages each time they private message a person.

This is not the Dept of Defense, where we need to make sure, the recipient gets the message because its mission criticial and somebody's life is on the line. Its private messaging for God's sake between people talking about gossip going on this forum.

i dont agree to this. because in doing so it will only encourage people to create more usernames. which will also eat up space. i for one will have no qualms in creating an alternate nick if my main nick can no longer post. and its easy enuf creating emails. i personally am maintaining 5 emails ryt now. so its easy for me to create 5 usernames. however i believe that we should be stricter especially when it comes to spamming in that area of the forum. ive noticed thata lot of the people double or triple their posts their.

-regularly visit the Forum page (at least 5x a week)
-must have been visiting for a long time (new forumers need to familiarize themselves with the forum, threads, & forumers, first)
-are not biased or do not take sides
-friendly (of course) http://tsinoy.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

There is a flamebaiting thread titled "Full House vs Sangdoo" that appeared in the Television subsection of the Entertainment section. Kindly monitor this, and if possible, I recommend that this thread be deleted. The two Korean dramas have separate earlier threads anyway, and if forumers wanted to start a rivalry, they can say their pieces in the said thread and avoid another confrontation.

u really love to stir things up dont u? if it didnt occur to u a trend in the technology still belongs to science and technology. the average person knows only about the trends not the details of these things. if u want to talk about details then start a topic. people who share ur interest will just reply.

Why not take a look at other techforums, particularly those two in the Philippines' Top 15 websites so you can get a sense of how things are online. Should I post their websites?

hoewver our other option since mandaluyong ako sakay kami ng jeep na floodway/binangonan or i forgot kung ano un then baba sa ipi/rosario. cross the street then take the jeep to cubao. baba ng pizza hut:D

1. you can't view entire list. admins lng ata pwede. you can only see who's online through the currently active users list found on the bottom of the forum index.
2. if you still know his/her username exactly the way it was registered, jst put his/her name when sending a new message.

I noticed that there has been an explosive growth in the creation of threads in the different fora. Many of them just a platform for self-serving airing of private views and opinions and for proselytizing some obscure Christian cults.
May I suggest that there be a minimum number of different participants and replies in any newly created thread, let's say within a week or so, so that if the thread fails to attract a minimum number of replies from different users, it will be deleted, since it is an indication that no one else is interested in the topic anyway.
What would be a good number of minimum replies (from different users, not just the same user posting again and again just to keep his thread alive).

The forum already have rules that state any opinion express by forumers aren't connected to the forum whatsoever.

There will always be unruly forumers, if they don't listen to you, so what . . . just ignore them. Is that such a hard thing to do? Besides people who aren't listening to your argument usually means they are at the losing end of the battle, that's that.

i've already answered your pm to me in regards to this topic. as i have told you for as long as these people abide the forum rules then there's nothing we can do about it. we also have our own rules. we can't be biased and take sides because we don't share the same sentiments. as much as i can i will be fair.

I'm a kapuso but I'm no longer happy with how things are going on lately. How about nelizzasanchez, I remember there was a time when she called Johnston on one of her post on GMA thread "Baklang Inukit n gawa s PAete LAguna" that was very deregatory remark but I believe that was not edited even if we trace back her post on GMA thread. I doubt if she was ever warned or even banned thou she seldom post now. There are more post and comments that are more deregatory than that if one regularly visits majority of threads on entertainment section but howcome pinalalagpas ng mga mods... there are threads over flooding with pics wherein successive ang post ng isang forumer ... it doesn't mean that just because they are friends with the mods and idol din sila ng mods they are never warned... or because one is not a kapuso all post and every words posted are monitored and taken into consideration word for word... I know it looks like pinagtatanggol ko si Johnston but my point is sana all Tsinoy mods and admin are FAIR. Please be assured etxetara that mods and admins remain fair and unibiased. This is the code we live by in Tsinoy. Even ozzie and editor remind us constantly and we take this to heart. But please understand that mods and admins do not have the luxury of time in monitoring all the threads. That's why we ask the help of forumers to report the posts that violate the rules and regulations of the forum. Once you see a post that violates, please report the same. This is done by clicking the icon of a triangle with an exclamation point found on the upper right hand corner of the post. The mods of the section will act on it accordingly.

I am tired to delete them from the site, they makes the automatic notifying system flooded my email account in the last few days, buti now the emil has 1 GB capacity, otherwise no other single email could be slided in my mail box. In the other blog site, no comment could be sent automatically, why we don't have that?

To the Admin :

In behalf of the other forumers on AAE thread I would like to request if it is possible to have a FANFIC section here on Tsinoy. Currently there are 11 fanfics born and on-going on AAE thread and more is yet to come. There are also forumers to my knowing who also had fanfics but they don't have a place to post it. Having a separate thread for each fanfic would make it easier for the readers to browse back, read and share their reactions on the previous chapters :) Maybe the mods can do something like what Kayenne did on gourmet section for the recipe list. Title of fanfics will be listed and it's stars then link of each chapter that had already been posted. If possible too it would also be better if we can make the fanfic section viewable only to members who are logged-in. Tsinoy is a haven of creative minds having a fanfic section would be greatly appreciated by forumers, encourage creativity and make the forum a lot more active. Thank you !

In behalf of the other forumers on AAE thread I would like to request if it is possible to have a FANFIC section here on Tsinoy. Currently there are 11 fanfics born and on-going on AAE thread and more is yet to come. There are also forumers to my knowing who also had fanfics but they don't have a place to post it. Having a separate thread for each fanfic would make it easier for the readers to browse back, read and share their reactions on the previous chapters :) Maybe the mods can do something like what Kayenne did on gourmet section for the recipe list. Title of fanfics will be listed and it's stars then link of each chapter that had already been posted. If possible too it would also be better if we can make the fanfic section viewable only to members who are logged-in. Tsinoy is a haven of creative minds having a fanfic section would be greatly appreciated by forumers, encourage creativity and make the forum a lot more active. Thank you !

all 11 fanfictions previously listed here by etxetera are posted under the thread All About Eve at the Television section (i guess that's how much we luv this koreanovela that's why the members or "Eves" have extracted their "creative juices" to come up with different versions of the drama / love story of the characters there ... sort of "spin-offs" from the original story) :o

then there's also the long-running "In Love With You" fictional story by eve etxetera and company, which i believe has it's own thread too

But if you have several fan fics in one thread and wish to break these down into several threads, mcbeal is correct. It IS possible, but it will take a lot of time depending on the number of messages already posted per chapter per fan fic. So yes, I suggest starting a new one. Anyways, I've yet to hear from the other people in our team about this. I don't see any problem adding this, but we are thinking of a whole new section called Creative Writing, where Fiction will be one of the categories. I hope we could omit the word "Fan" coz we don't like it to make it solely for Entertainment Fan Fiction. Others may want to write fiction without the imagination of a showbiz person playing the role.

i agree. the creative writing section is a great idea. :D forumers can post their short stories, poetry, and other forms of fiction. one can even create his online novel.

by the way, just like to point out...there is a chance that these creative writings may contain mature content and with this I mean sexually explicit scenes. there must be guidelines to such content. in fanfiction.net, the stories are categorized and there's a warning for mature content. in another fanfiction site, winglin.net, it's the authors responsibility to warn for mature content.

by the way, just like to point out...there is a chance that these creative writings may contain mature content and with this I mean sexually explicit scenes. Actually you brought up a good point. We'll try to come up with basic guidelines. Aside from the mature content, there is also an issue on copyright. We definitely want postings to be original (as much as possible) and Tsinoy.com won't be responsible for copyrighted content posted by a forumer. On the other hand, what will you do if all of a sudden, a filmmaker came to visit the forum section and came up with a movie with your idea? How would you guys feel? We don't want to be part of these sorts of situations. We provide you the space.

But of course, it doesn't hurt if you give acknowledge Tsinoy.com if ever your novel or your fiction became famous. :) We'll see how things go ... weekend na ngayon so let's give this a little more thought.

I saw on one forum that provides a "quick reply" section at the bottom of every thread opened without actually having to wait the loading of "reply to thread" page, its simplifed if you just want the basic posting of messages only without any intention of pasting photos or using any trivial extra features that we have have so much on our replies page that are rarely used. The frequent server interruptions at Tsinoy.com forum serves as a "cleansing process" to those forumers who love to flood, speak unethically and post irresponsibly in this once pristine and quiet forum.

I guess its really a blessing in disguise for all those who are already disgruntled by the presence of many new unethical forumers that are entering this forum, some with the sole purpose of just hurting the other party's pride and ego.

If need be, a current mechanism that automatically shuts out any user when the forum is busy be upgraded to discourage posts of less than 2 sentences or even less than 10 words. I hope the administrator is reading this. Thanks for taking in my suggestion.

there are no limits to the no. of posts a forumer makes in a thread. However, in my opinion, flooding should be discouraged where the only purpose is to increase posts. forumers are encouraged to POST WITH SUBSTANCE, share ideas and opinions. one-liners and turning a thread into a chatroom should be avoided. :)

Personally, i'd rather read posts with substance rather than empty words with no coherent thought.

hi ozzie, just like to ask or be clarified (sorry if i missed some rules/policy), why is it that some of the threads especially at the fiction section, are missing? :confused: wouldn't it be much better if all the threads be shown in pages just like in the tv and personalities section so we can browse and read any story whenever we feel like it?:) i think it's easier that way rather than panic whenever we can't find the thread we want to read.:D just some observations.

hello ozzie, just an observation. I'm using dial-up at home and i notice that if i'm connected to isp bonanza or infocom, i can't access tsinoy. I get an error page. but if I use speed, i can access tsinoy. i wonder why?

i think html codes are disabled in this forum. why not just make an animated gif of the pics you want in your siggy? :D
