Sales of the debut album from Chinese actress/singer Jang Nara have recorded 800,000 copies. "In China, you have to sell more than 1.5 million copies to consider your album hugely successful, but selling even 400,000 to 500,000 copies is considered successful, too. We think our promotion of Nara's album has been a big success," said a person from Jang's agency.

"Album sales are particularly robust in Beijing and Shanghai, and have been surging rapidly in Dongbei as well, with the album securing the top spot on music charts for three weeks in a row. What's interesting is that we haven't even started promoting the album in Shanghai, so we look forward to how things will improve even more once we start the promotion there. The difference in sales in areas where we have and have not staged showcases is very big," added the person from Jang's agency.

i saw jang nara last night in showbiz extra! she's sooooo cute!!! :) the arirang team went to visit her in the set of Diao Man Gong Zhu (Bratty Princess) and shows her with her co-stars... everyone is so kulit! most of the chinese actors she work with learn some korean words and most are funny!

she called alec su handsome... then alec replied with "nara is pretty" in korean... ang cute niya kasi parang nahiya sya! :D

SU YOUPENG IS "CHARMED" BY JANG NARA

Su Youpeng has been "electrocuted consecutively" by popular South Korean
female stars; collaborated twice with Chae Rim and then with superb chemistry
with Jang Nara. He even concurred to change the drama title from "Wo De
Diao Man Gong Zhu" to "Diao Man Gong Zhu".

During the filming of the drama serial, both were neighbours staying at
a rented bungalow provided by the film producers; in the day during the
filming, eat kimchi together and in the night go to Karaokes.

Through the drama "Huan Zhu Ge Ge", Su Youpeng has long since been a household
name in South Korea. Moreover, in the last two years, had been collaborating
with South Korean actresses. He said, "South Korean girls are actually
very gentle and soft, very feminine. Feel very comfortable with them around."

He continued, "At first had thought that Jang Nara is a very difficult person,
but after getting to know her, realized that she is not as rumoured.
Her accorded privileges are the same as mine except that she does not take
lunch boxes; she has a personal chef for her meals." Both of us were accorded
a private 200 ping bungalow as living quarters with two personal assistants
each, a personal make up artiste, personal stand-ins. Jang Nara draws about
RMB120,000 per episode, approximately NT$500,000. Su Youpeng is not any
much lesser too.

The irony is, Su Youpeng's "old flame" Chae Rim is also filming in Wuxi
but he and Jang Nara "dates" by the Lake. Both filming units would often
brush by each other.

Chae Rim would often chat on the MSN with Su Youpeng, "long time no see;
how's work? Is it tough?"

Su Youpeng replied, "When I return to Taipei, will send you some xiao long bao".

Both communicated with each other in English [...????!

Both their friendship is growing stronger by the days. Chae Rim's husband
was not jealous at all but on the contrary encouraged her to get to know
more Taiwanese to develop and establish more international friendships.

As regards to his "new love", Jang Nara, Su Youpeng praised that she is
"Miss Invincible". She is full of energy from the start of the day to
the night." Both of their common interests is playing computer games, exchange
of computer softwares, comparing scores.

Jang Nara brought 2 huge bags of kimchi and she shared it with Su Youpeng.
Su Youpeng is known to have a bad stomach but he eats kimchi with his every
meal. He said laughingly, "I am "charmed" by Jang Nara le. I can't do
without it."

After the day's work, both would invite the filming crew for a Karaoke session.
Jang Nara knows a fair bit of Chinese and she sang Su Youpeng's songs
rhythmically with good measure.

Next month, (August), Jang Nara will be promoting her new album in Taiwan.
Wu Dun, DMGZ producer has invited Su Youpeng to play host to her.

Su Youpeng accepted without a second thought, "No problem. Will definitely
bring her to eat xiao long bao."

However, Su Youpeng advised that there is no possibility of them being an
item. He said grinningly that Chae Rim has only her husband in her heart
and Jang Nara is a "small kid"; sometimes behaving like a boy too – thus
it is not possible to have any sparks with her.

Those who had worked with Su Youpeng and Chae Rim commented that both of
them have a point in common and that is, they are extremely professional,
especially their synchronizations with each other. As their personalities
are very similar, It is only natural and not surprising that they become
good friends.

In a recent internet poll in May, Alec was the only Taiwanese male actor
to emerged in the top 5 of the Most Favoured/Popular International Artiste.
A couple of days back, there were lots of Korean stars visiting Taipei
and some of the Korean staff personnel said that Su Youpeng is very popular
in Korea and all are dying to see him in person.

Looks like Su Youpeng has successfully sent his feelers to open and penetrate
into the Korean market.

7/27/05 – Jang Na Ra will costar with Ryu Shi Won (류시원) and Myung Se Bin (명세빈) in the Monday-Tuesday drama “Wedding (웨딩)” scheduled to be aired by KBS2 around the end of August. She plays the role Se Na (세나) who has a nickname “Princess” having beautiful appearance and specializing piano. She and the role Seung Woo (승우, played by RSW), who passes foreign affairs exam to become a diplomat, have a matchmaking marriage. They and the character Yoon Soo (윤수, played by MSB) form triangle love relationship. The script writer is Oh Soo Yun (오수연) who wrote for the drama “Autumn Tale”. Jang Na Ra’s last drama was “I’m gonna fall in love”aired by MBC in the summer of 2004.

Singer Jang Na-ra will release a special edition album recorded in Chinese on March 21.

Entitled “Flying High,” the album includes songs which were featured in a Chinese drama in which Jang starred, and comes bundled with her “Kung Fu” album released in China last year, a DVD of six music videos from her first and second Chinese albums, and a mini photo album with new pictures of her.

Her agency, Warner Music, said that the album is a gift for her Korean fans to express her regret for not actively performing in Korea because she has focused her efforts on China. “The title “Flying High,” which Jang herself created, expresses her hope of becoming a towering star in Asia,” it added.

It's happy to know na may kapareho ako na gusto yung tandem nina Jang Hyuk at JNR sa Bright Girl. Naalala ko pa nga na minsan hindi ako pumasok sa office kasi nanood ako sa tanghali ng Bright Girl sa GMA. Grabe! Kaya nga bumili na lang ako ng copy nun para di masira ang schedule ko at mapanood ko siya.


Naulit na naman ngayon kasi I am addicted to her new series, WEDDING. I equally love RSW for JNR (mas pa siguro). Three weeks na akong nakaleave during saturdays kasi I have to watch this drama. Ganun ako ka-grabe. Kaya nga, my mom suggested to buy a copy para daw I can watch it whenever I like. Kaya, heto ilang araw na akong puyat para lang matapos na. Although sa totoo lang, uulit ulitin ko ang WEDDING. The pacing may be a bit slow pero all the scenes are worth it esp. the RSW & JNR scenes. Super kilig! (to think that I'm in my late 20's na).

All their kissing scenes (medyo madami, since mag-asawa nga sila) are done tastefully. I really love them both. Sayang nga lang at hindi ito nilagay sa primetime. Anyways, I have my copy naman kaya I can watch it over and over and over again.

ung My Love Patzzi (title dito sa Sg) ay maganda rin kaso mas fave ko ang BNG....naiiyak ako sa scenes na umiiyak si JNR sa MLP...

ung wedding at bratty princess ay di ko pa napapanood kasi wala pa kong nakikitang DVD nya..alam nyo naman, sa DVD lang akoumaasa, kasi walang GMA cable channel dito at kahit may TFC ay di na pinapalabas ang koreanovelas...kasi naman meron dito, kaso walang subtitles..o de vah ? guess na lang ak o sa dialogue..

Singer/actress Jang Na-ra has been recognized by world-famous Chinese actor Jackie Chan as a Korean star who has achieved success in China.
According to Jang's official website, Chan said at the “Jackie Chan and His Friends” event to which Jang was invited that Jang's success in China proves that there is nothing impossible in the world. Held on Saturday in Nanjing and drawing some 60,000 audience members, the event was a charity concert the Chinese actor organized with the help of his other famous star friends around the world to raise funds to build apartment buildings for the elderly living alone.

Jang performed two songs from her second Chinese album, “Kung Fu” and “Meng Feixiang,” and sang the title song of the film “The Myth,” in which Chan played a leading role, in a duet with Chan.

Jang has been gaining increasing popularity in China since she started to work there from 2004, when the hit drama “The Success Story of a Bright Girl” in which she starred received a positive response from Chinese viewers. Her first Chinese album released early last year has sold more than 1 million copies, and her latest second album is also enjoying increasing popularity.

Singer Jang Nara Carries Olympic Flame


Singer and actress Jang Nara, 27, carried the Olympic flame in Seoul.

Jang's management agency said although it had been informed of Jang's selection earlier, it refrained from publicizing the affair to allow the singer to carry the torch without any unnecessary complications. Jang carried the torch from the Jongno area on the afternoon of April 27.

Some 80 citizens, including celebrities, took turns carrying the Olympic flame through 80 districts in Seoul before it arrived at Seoul City Plaza at 7:00 p.m. The torch left for the North Korean capital Pyeongyang at 11:00 p.m. Sunday.

Singers Rain and Bada were among the celebrities who carried the torch.
