Rain Takes Part in Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign

Korean actor and singer Rain will take part in an anti-human trafficking campaign with the help of global music network MTV and the U.S. Agency for International Development.

MTV and the U.S. Agency for International Development will produce a 30-minute documentary in eight languages, in which international stars will take part in narration. Korean superstar Rain and popular Thai singer Tata Young will narrate in their native Korean and Thai, respectively.

The documentary, slated for broadcast in September, aims to warn viewers around the world on the danger of human trafficking and educate consumers on how to counter businesses that exploit and traffic human beings. Other related short films and public advertisements will be produced and broadcast over the next year.

Rain recently said he was honored to be able to take part in MTV's EXIT campaign that aims to fight human trafficking. He went on to point out that the sad reality of human trafficking is that most of the victims are women and children. He also said he wanted to be of help to those fighting human trafficking.

Since 2004, MTV's EXIT campaign succeeded in promoting anti-human trafficking awareness in Europe. It went on to expand its campaign in the Asia Pacific region. Hollywood stars such as Angelina Jolie and Helena Christensen took part in the European campaign.

In a poll - Male Stars whom Korean Female Students Want to Marry - RAIN got the no. 1 spot again. Oh, he deserves this although it’s only a survey & for fun. Who wouldn’t want to? How I wish I could marry him, too. I would be a very good wife to him - ha ha ha. Every girl wants to marry him. I’m sure when he sees this poll, he must be flattered but this is no surprise for him. It’s a dream to marry this guy.

About Hyesung’s album, I’m sure this is great. And I’ve seen the lyrics, which RAIN composed, it’s beautiful but a little bit sad. I’m interested to buy this album since he wrote one of the songs here. And he has time to do this. Can’t wait to listen to this song.

I’m happy to know that Hollywood movie invitations keep coming to him. Ye, keep it coming. It’s good news. Just wondering when he’s going back to the US soon, what will he do there? I just hope that we’ll be updated whatever he does there so we won’t be missing him this much again. I’m excited for him & his future plans. So many things are going for him. I wish him all the best. Stars raise flags on their Independence Day…. This is an interesting news. Oh, how come the façade of his home & SHK is the same? It’s my first time to see her house…They’re nationalistic, huh? And he has a security camera in his gate….for stalkers ha ha ha… I love to go inside his home.

Rain's Germany Interview "All are miracle"

Rain (Jeong Jihun) has built a close relationship with Berlin in Germany after he became an actor. Through his debut movie "I'm Cyborg but that's okay", Rain managed to walk on the red carpet of Berlin Film Festival. And now, his first Hollywood movie "Speed Racer" is also filmed in Berlin. Upon the third anniversary of MoneyToday Starnews (1st September), we had an interview with Rain who is currently filming "Speed Racer" in Berlin.

I haven't seen Rain for two months, he is still in good shape. Just that he stayed overseas for these two months, so he miss Korea very much. In particular, a lots of issues related to his agency are waiting for him to decide, so he hopes to get back asap.

He left Korea on June 15 to prepare for his LA concert and later he went to Germany on July 1 for movie filming until now. He said probably he can go back home around August 27.

This interview was done during Rain's rest day, i.e. Sunday (Germany time, August 19). Since the afternoon, we went through different places like restaurants, theatres, cafes and etc until midnight.

Rain has high expectation on "Speed Racer. He trusts the directors, Wachowski Brothers very much. With a confident tone he said, "Since the filming, again I can feel it's an astonishing movie."

"This movie is going to screen in 167 countries. So before the filming started, I was thinking if there's any scene, at least there's a scene for me to perform myself. Well seems I was worried too much. My scenes were increased a lot during filming. I'm feeling good, emotionally and physically."

Initially Rain only had 30-minute scene but the directors were fascinated by him and added in more scripts for his part. In the end, Rain had 40 to 50 minute scene. Although Rain still needs to memorise his scripts, at least his pronouciation is quite accurate that his conversations has never been corrected once

Being asked about his feeling of filming Hollywood movie, "I can sense the power of huge capitals," Rain mentioned about the power of 3 hundred million US dollars as production cost.

Based on Rain's illustration, this is a big film production involved about 400 crews but the filming was finished in 3 months. It was because 12 cameras were used simultaneously for one scene and the scenes went through CG stage (Computer Graphic) immediately. Therefore the filming time was shortened.

"The extraordinary effects of CG shall be presented by this movie, the buildings and car racing are CG. The humans went through scanning beforehand, then use CG to incorporate the backgrounds and humans where necessary. During the filming, there was no real props but we had to play as if we were in the real environment. It was a bit strange but the filming was enjoyable.

In "Speed Racer", Rain plays the key role of the story, an oriental car racer named 'Taejo Togokhan'. As the probationary Hollywood star, Rain received good remuneration from the film company.

As his debut into Hollywood, this movie is going to bring him lots of opportunities. He showed his confidence and expectation on this movie. In fact, Rain received invitations from other Hollywood film makers to make him play the main role.

Rain said, "From now on, the core of USA pop culture will be Asia." The Asian artists will be very active. Rain voiced his expectation, so far there is no Asian artist who succeeds in USA pop music, but in the future there will be someone.

In the past during Elvis Presley's age, no one ever expected the American Blacks could get into BillBoard, but 2PAC did it and later half of the BillBoard was occupied by the Blacks. Then, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and other Latin singers became the main stream in pop music. Rain analyzed that the next trend should be from Asia. Just like Chow Yun Fatt and Jackie Chan, who are the successful Asian actors in Hollywood movies.

"It's not right to say Asians cannot do it. No matter who, they should try it out. If I can't make it, then let my junior goes for it. If my junior can't, then it's the turn of my junior's junior. The door will open as long as we keep knocking on it, or else we just break into it?"

What Rain plans now is launching his album during the screening of the movie <Speed Racer>. Movie screening and album releasing in the same time forms the synergistic win-win effect.

<Speed Racer> is showing in June-July next year. So Rain plans to release his album in September. At this point of time, Rain is discussing the album making with two famous American music producers.

"The nomination in 'TIME100 Most Influential' and 'The 100 Most Beautiful People' by "People" magazine are because of fans support. Nonetheless, I would like to face the real judgement through my first (Hollywood) movie and first (USA) album next year. Things have to go on gradually so I don't expect the success comes so fast. Thus, that's is the meaning of my challenge."

Well "What should I do if "Speed Racer" becomes the box office champion?" It looked like Rain was joking but that revealed his confidence indirectly. This is the key stage in his USA development so he will focus on USA market in this period. Hence, he has no plan to release album in Korea next year.

In a TV talkshow Rain has talked about "Kissing with girlfriend on the street at Christmas eve." When I asked 'do you have any girlfriend', he spoke frankly "It'll be good if I have one". It was a different answer. It was something different from what I expected. Rain is working hard for his targets and put his personal life aside.

"If she can be someone who can control me. Feeling like a sister, relax, generous, play small tricks.... Of course it'll be good if she's pretty, perhaps pretty and kind-hearted. Must be someone simple. If you have any candidate, kindly introduce to me" (Chuckle)

Rain earned 5 billion from his World Tour, and the amount kept increasing with the income from CFs and other activities. Rain said, "Compared to those similar age groups, of course I earn much more than them. But most important, I realised what I dreamt for."

The starvation for few days, dance practices over days and nights and 2-hour sleeping time everyday pushed him to the current position. All he earns are equivalent to the sweats and tears he paid.

In his high school time, his family stayed in small house. Rain said he ever drank the water with cockcroach. After vomitting the insect, he swore with his tears 'Must buy a proper house with garden for dad and mum in these 10 years, let them stay comfortably.' He gave himself a huge target and he achieved it after 7 years. Last year, he bought a bunglo attached with garden at Seoul.

"To me, it is a luxurious residence, you feel good although you just look at it. But my dad is very satisfied and happy. He is proud of it."

Currently, Rain's dad is incharge of his financial management. Rain mentioned that it is because he is still young and he has other things to take care of.

Came to the end of interview, Rain again reminded the fans and readers to look forward to his achievement in USA.

"It's not easy to get a role with many scenes especially it is my first Hollywood movie. Everyone told me it's miracle. Next year, my USA album will be ready. If it does well, please encourage and support me."

Cyborg in UK Film Festival? Oh, it’s great news. I thought he’ll be attending when I saw this news since it’s a little close to Berlin but although he won’t be there, I’m happy to know that his movie is being recognized once again.

Gosh, another new photos from Berlin…………he looks stunning in the pictures. I love it but why he has to wear a scarf? It would be fine when there’s none. Re-the interview, it feels nice to see him & to hear his voice. His hair is long again. Can’t wait for him to come back in Korea so we could hear more news about him.

Oh, he has to leave Korea temporarily? I don’t know what to say here but I just have to wait & see. I just hope the best for him until then. His decision makes me happy and yet so sad because I’m going to miss him so much but this is great for him. I’m also looking forward for his English album. You will do well, RAIN! I will support you all the way.

The cockroach part makes me sad but that was part of his past. :)

RAIN Mouse Pad from Korea Tourism Organization…….oh, that’s so cool. I want one as one of my collections. If I have that, I won’t dare to use, it might be destroyed ha ha ha. But so nice to “roll all over him” huh?

His evaluation of various parts of his body……..oh, the article is quite old but this is such a good one & my first time to have read it. I know he’s one of the most gorgeous men in the world. Hair – I don’t like him with all black but I love it with a little strands of blonde, short or long is fine. And ye, he looks good with hats but my personal favorite are beanies. Eyes – I love his eyes. Good, he didn’t undergo a cosmetic surgery on it. Hands – he has long, slender & pointed fingers. It looks sexy to me. And his nails are always very clean. Body – take care of that, RAIN. We all love them! Nose – although he had this done due to broken nose bridge when he’s young & not for vanity reasons, I love the shape, it’s flawless. Lips – it’s yummy, soft & very shapely. How can girls resist? When you look at it, you’ll faint. Shoulders – oh, he said he loves it & taking care of it for his girlfriend. I admire him for he knows how to please a woman. The girl who would become his GF will be so lucky. Legs – the reason why he’s tall. I love his height. Forehead – his comment about it is funny. MANILA, Philippines – The quotation on his calling card says it all: “It’s a good story, man!”

South Korean director-producer Lee Hyung Min made it clear that “story is king” in the broadcast media.

He was one of the invited speakers in the “international co-production” workshop held in Makati recently. It was organized by the Korean Broadcasting Institute (KBI) and the country’s National Broadcasting Network (NBN).

Lee spoke on soap operas while his compatriots Tae Won Kim (“Jumong” producer) and Yong Don Lee tackled TV production and documentaries.

Lee produced the very popular Koreanovelas “Autumn Sonata” in 2001 and “Winter Sonata” in 2002.

A year later, he directed Asian superstar Rain in the comedy-drama show “Sang Doo, Let’s Go to School.”

Although Rain was already famous at the time, Lee told Inquirer Entertainment in an exclusive interview, the star had “remained down-to-earth.”

“We had a lot of fun on the set because it was a comedy show,” Lee said of the South Korean singer-actor-dancer who’s often compared to Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake. The director-producer described Rain as a “good son.”

“[He] wasn’t born with a silver spoon [in his mouth],” Lee related, “so he worked hard, starting at the bottom, as backup dancer for singer Park Jin-Young. He is a passionate and dedicated [performer]. He almost doesn’t sleep. He keeps practicing.”

Rain’s work ethic stemmed from a promise he had made to his mother before her death, Lee recalled. “He vowed to her that he’d become No. 1.”

As such, the director-producer said, Rain’s life story could be likened to a Koreanovela: “After his mom fell ill, he put her in the best hospital. But she checked herself out, saying, ‘My treatments cost more than what my son is earning.’ [Rain] persuaded her to return to the hospital.”

Rain top-billed “Full House,” which GMA 7 aired. He was included in Time magazine’s online poll of the 100 Most Influential People in the world and in People magazine as one of the Most Beautiful.

After “Sang Doo,” which won awards, Lee directed “Sorry, I Love You,” shot in Melbourne.

He admits that he’s partial to dark themes. In “Sang Doo,” Rain played a gigolo; “Sorry” was about white slavery.

“It’s important for TV dramas to show both the light and dark aspects of life,” Lee pointed out. “Real life is a mix of comedy and drama. I prefer real stories.”

He is not so keen on remaking old soaps and movies, a common practice in Philippine TV. He’d rather update classic stories.

Which was precisely what he did on his latest TV show, “The Snow Queen,” based on a Hans Christian Andersen tale.

“Snow Queen,” a hit in Japan, attracted a young demographic in Korea.

At the Makati workshop, Lee encouraged local TV producers and writers to go back to the classics.

He blamed the current “crisis” in Korean TV to a lack of creativity. (He mentioned that some viewers were turned off by the actors, mostly tapped from the modeling world, who “do not know how to act.”)

“In Korea, producers keep offering the same formula, the same old love stories,” Lee said. “The audience is looking for something new. A new kind of drama.”

Oh, he stayed in Intercontinental Hotel in Berlin. His hotel is so pretty, the suite is so beautiful & cozy. The facilities are complete with a swimming pool & a gym. Can’t wait for him to come back in Korea today.

He’s the superstar who visits many international airports because he travels here & there. Indeed, he attracts many eyes, not only there but anywhere else.

I’m so happy to see that his name is being mentioned in the Phil. newspaper. :D

He’s going to perform again in Lotte concert on October 20………..Gosh, I’m sure this is true since he’s the spokesperson of this big recreational park in Seoul.

I read an old interview of him from one of the magazines & he described himself as quiet but naughty & he would love to sing love songs to his GF. She would be lucky to hear his voice without paying anything…as if going to his free concert. :D

07.09.03 Rain may hold concerts in October

Asian super star RAIN is going to fly again! Now he has overcome the nightmares came from the cancellation of LA concert in June 30 and decided to stand on the stage again!

Rain will hold a special musical show on October 20 to thank the customers of Lotte, the duty free shop at Jamsil Stadium, Seoul. This is his first show after the cancellation of USA concert.

The stadium was also the starting point of his world tour in December and it can accomodate 10,000 audience. It is the largest indoor performance stage in Korea. Indeed it is the most suitable place for Rain to stand up again.

Other singers will be the guests for this musical show.

People are highly concern how is his performance on that day. Usually Rain is the perfectionist on the stage and understanding his character, this show won't be a normal every-day-like concert.

Well, another selling point is that Rain lovers will swamp into Korea during this period. It was proven by Rain through his world tour to show his strong influence. Hallyu fans are running after his no matter where he goes. Therefore, a fierce ticket-fighting war is expected to happen among Asian fans from Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc.

Rain's agency revealed, "Rain spent quite some time in overseas for the filming of <Speed Racer>. So lots of things are on hold. After his return last Friday (Aug 31), he immediately started the CF shooting."

On the other hand, Lotte Duty Free shop will open the advanced booking for Rain's autumn musical show through website (www.lottedfs.com (http://www.lottedfs.com)), the closing date is Sept 10.

I’m so jealous of this Clouds who were able to see him up close & personal. This girl is very lucky. I enjoyed reading the stories, especially the underwear thing ha ha ha. CLEAR is a new anti-dandruff shampoo, which is quite getting more and more popular in the phils these days. talk abt. a massive ad campaign and product promotion. perhaps it would have generated more sales if rain was the product endorser here. wow, im truly excited abt the new cf. i wonder if those dandruff flakes would go shaking when rain makes the moves .gif (http://www.soompi.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/phew.gif) and i also wonder if they will show that cf here.

Oh, I know that he’ll be the endorser for a shampoo but I just knew it now that this brand is CLEAR. This is very good since I’ve tried it. It’s very cool on the scalp. Besides, the product comes from Unilever. This client has very good image. Will look forward for the CF to come out soon. oo nga sana man lang mapanood natin dito sa rp tv. pero msaya na din ako toi see the cf here in the net kung tlgang hindi ubra since ang mga multinational companies decide whether to air the local (national) or international versions of the cf for a particular product.

After returning to his homeland on the 31st of last month, South Korean singer Rain announced a 3-week leave of absence. Rain returned to South Korea on the 31st after completing his film shoot for his movie in Germany, and on the 1st he carried on with a photo shoot for a clothing advertisement (Calvin Klein), afterwhich he terminated all other activities. It is reported that Rain will sign an advertisement agreement on the 23rd of this month in Shanghai with a local food company. Prior to that Rain has temporarily terminated all activities, putting worries aside to build up his health. This 3 week-long vacation is considered Rain's longest vacation since the start of his hectic world tour that began late last year. Although this period of time Rain has also received invitations from 3 big South Korean television stations (to do dramas), he has politely refused all of them. Rain's related management company also indicated this, "Although it looks like Rain is currently resting, he still has to address the many questions related to his personal company, therefore for the time being Rain is politely refusing all other activities to devote himself in the preparation of his personal company and activities for the second half of the year."

Oh, I love the Speed Racer poster……I’m expecting that only his name will appear but his face is there, his photo together with the top stars. I’m so proud of him, very happy.

I love the CLEAR CF. But wondering if this came out on air earlier as scheduled? It was reported to come out on September 16, huh? But I’m 100% sure that isn’t his voice only the last part where he said : “My Name is RAIN.” Gosh, I miss his voice. His voice is so sexy. I just wish that he were the one speaking all the lines there. But I love the dialogues there. He has nice shots…..very HOT & sexy. My heart is beating very fast again.

He’s in a 3-week vacation…although I miss him but the man deserves a break. Well, we just have to wait for him to come back. Oh, another updated fan account…………Gosh, many international clouds are waiting for him in his office, huh? So, he’s only in Seoul working although on vacation. I think his vacation means away from the media & spotlights. It was mentioned that he had a slight studs on his face. I hope there’s a photo of him on this. These fans are so lucky to have seen him up close & personal. And he’s in a good mood that he talked to them & asked them what country are they from. I find them funny since they called his bodyguard “Mr. Teddybear”. Probably, this man is so big?

I love reading his interview by Praew magazine (a Thai magazine)…… I find him cute when he mentioned that he feels good that people consider him as a person who has great sense of fashion. Gosh, this man didn’t know? You always have this sense of fashion ever since, RAIN. Mp3, a photo of the girl he loves & cup noodles – these are the things he loves & consider important to him, huh? Wondering why a mobile phone & money aren’t included? How could he survive without the latter, huh? And I noticed that he keeps on saying, “the one I love & with the one I love”. He’s always been a confident person during interviews, very natural. Besides, I also love his photos for this magazine.

Shanghai concert…….. this is good news for China Clouds & those who can attend since he hasn’t been on stage for quite a long time.

Oh, another set of CK photos……. drooling……..fainting……. he’s too much! Did I see his hair pony-tailed? Whoaaaaa……..most are already sold outs tickets in his Shanghai concert…….happy happy…….. And I read that he sent out a personal handwritten invites through the concert’s sponsors to some Chinese newspapers. He also mentioned that he’s going to have a new hairstyle for this concert. Gosh, I’m getting excited for this, how his looks will be, still long hair or short again. I think this is it now! RAIN fighting!

Oh, he’s featured in a Japanese magazine again……& had a 10-page article about him, huh? It’s fantastic! He looks so good in the cover. The name of the magazine is Weekly PIA, an entertainment magazine. According to the reports, this is a popular magazine in Japan. This is to be released on September 27, 2007. He’s the 1st Korean artist to be featured in the Special Edition. It contains an exclusive interview about him as a singer & being an actor since his debut. But the focus is more on his Hollywood activities.

The Asian Arts Festival this September 23 & his Shanghai concert this October 6……..so much are coming up for him, huh? :)

Gosh, I’ve been looking forward to all these recent photos, at the airport & the Fuma presscon pictures. Oh, still long hair, huh & he’s wearing specs. And looking at his photo at the presscon, his hairs have brown highlights? I’m happy to see he’s looking relaxed & fine. And this Fuma executive, he must have liked him very much because the way he hugged him, huh? And the toast, I can’t help but laugh at the guy. RAIN must have feeling awkward & instead he used the other hand to drink. And they chose him for Fuma because of his nice skin? Wondering what does the skin complexion has to do with the cake, huh? His rubber shoes during rehearsal where he’s wearing a yellow t-shirt is a little bit high –heeled but it looks good on him. Fred Perry tennis shoes….sorry but not familiar with rubber shoes, huh? And the denims is tight on the ankle, how muscular & sexy he is. I love the whole outfit down to his shoes. I hope he’s going to ponytail his hair once in a while, I’m sure he’ll look good on it, too. But whatever he is, I love him as always. Korean pop star Rain will go to the United States in November to study and prepare for his first English-language album.

In a television interview with China's CCTV, Rain said he will be staying in the United States in preparation for his English-language album debut, which will be released in the U.S. However, there is no date for his album's release yet.

Rain will also film more scenes for his first Hollywood film "Speed Racer." He plays the supporting role of a rookie car racer in the film, written and directed by Andy and Larry Wachowski.

Rain also said he will study English, but has not yet decided whether to attend a language school in Los Angeles or New York City.

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is scheduled to hold a solo concert in Daegu on Oct. 27.

He ended his Rain's Coming world tour last June with controversy, as legal and financial problems prevented him from holding concerts in the U.S.

Oh, RAIN wants to train later generation of singers….. I hope someday he’ll be successful with this dream. I wish him all the best for everything that he wants in his life. Doing a movie, Speed Racer has been an experience for him, filming a Hollywood movie & speaking English all the way.

So, it’s not true that he’s going to stay in US for 1-year starting November to study English but he’ll be there only to prepare for his US album, huh? I’m happy to hear this. China news is just an exaggerated report. I think for me, it’s best that he’ll continue to have an English personal tutor than attending classes in a university. With a personal tutor he can concentrate more unlike than going to a university he’ll lose his privacy since he’s RAIN. :)

During his airport arrival in China, oh, that girl was so close to him, just in front taking photos of him. His bodyguards weren’t that strict, huh? Good, that’s he’s so cool during that moment. That girl is too much!

During Asian Arts Festival. he’s so tall among the rest in the pictures, huh? And the girl beside him wearing white gown is staring at him so closely, she looks mesmerized.

Oh, so the Korea concert is confirmed on October 27, huh?

And he’ll be meeting with some World-Class athletes on October 3…..I hope this is confirmed. Every time he appears in public is good. I love to see & hear anything about him.

RAIN’s tidbits…I love tidbits. I’m so touched about JYP’s comments that he posted all his reminders to him on his room wall so he won’t forget them. It only shows that he’s really determined to improve, huh? I love what Kim Sung So said : A person who doesn’t like him has a strange mentality.

He’ll release 2-albums next year, US & Korean albums but the latter will be released first aside from his movie. He works really hard. He’ll be very busy next year. Can’t wait for all these. I hope everything will run smoothly.

Oh, good news that court has relieved him of crime suspicion on the Hawaii concert. I love this news! Finally, justice has been served! I’m happy for RAIN & co. that it’s settled. Everything is going the right way for him now. This is a big relief for him……. He loves performing, he will never cheat his fans, and he wouldn’t do anything like that.

The cancer patient whom he has been providing aid & support had passed away already. This is sad news. My prayers with the family….. I’m sure RAIN is feeling sad about this. ;)

i already PMd justified abt this. it was a mistake on my part, no malice intended, no offense meant but i really felt bad that on the grounds of technicality, nadisqualify si rain. i felt bad, so bad that i am sick now bec. of this. i appealed to justified if she can still include rain in the korean candidates' list as in my excitement to ask for the support of the biers, namention ko yung theme. CFC is the agent, and in the rules it says agents are not allowed to post the theme. and i made the mistake, not cfc.

lark, actually the hardest part is forgiving oneself. i am really sick bec. of this, literally. have been crying incessantly kanina pa. been going back and forth to the CR uz of tension diarrhea. bale wala pala na sumulat pa ko dun sa eml na binigay mo kc kht mabura yung post wala na din. to think tues. pa lang ngayon and the polls start on sat. maliit n bagay kung tutuusin pero ganun tlga. you win some and lose some. at the end of the day, wla namang effect ito sa popularity ni rain. and that's the real truth bec. kahit parang konti pa lang kming pinoy biers, sobrang layo na ng narating nya. dami ng recognitions and we could only hope that one day, he's going to come and perform here. polls are just polls. he won some and lost some but he is still our Korean Idol.

I know it's been decided already, but I just have one comment regarding this issue. Isn't this particular rule too rigid and (sorry to say) ridiculous? Anyone with the intention to SABOTAGE a strong candidate (or simply a candidate he abhors, for whatever reason) can just pose as a 'supporter' and casually make the 'mistake' of mentioning the theme at the threads, or make 'chika' at the voting thread during voting period. It's not a fool-proof rule. And it has nothing to do with the contest, nor the candidate nor the agent, per se. Napakadali pong isabotahe ang contest dahil lang sa rule na ito.

I'm not saying Rain was sabotaged. I'm just saying it could happen to anyone, lalo na kung malakas ang boto ng kandidato. I'm dropping this idea para pag-isipan ng mga organizers kung pano nila mape-prevent na mangyari yun.

Expressing my inner cry "Rain my love"

I have not come down from my high from today, Oct 6. I did not know that my heart could beat so rapidly. Let me express - Rain, whom I have waited many years for, when he was on stage performing "It's Raining", compelled me to write my afterthoughts of the concert:

- There is no comparison to his perfect body.
- His dancing was so sexy, and he was so handsome that it made me feel faint.
- The part that made me feel the most "high" was when rain fell on stage (cab's comments: when he was singing "Nan") To see baby (cab's comments: yes, this fan calls him baby) drenched, oh my, I have no words, it was mesmerizing.
- The costumes were very elaborate and the costume changes were done quickly.
- When he was dancing with his female dancers, although the dancing was very good, I didn't like some of the movements (cab's comments: Jealous, I presume). One female dancer even hugged darling (cab's comments: yes, she calls him darling too) as though she did not want to let go.
- My most loved baby, as an angel, with his white suit, with the big wings. He was a super angel, super handsome.
- He was so handsome that I could have vomited blood (cab's comments: ok, I'm quite sure it's vomit, but it could be nosebleed..hahaha), I don't have any more words to describe it.

After the concert, I sprinted backstage, but I did not get there on time to see him one more time. But, I'm still contented. The concert was a success, and it was very exciting.

Tonight is a sleepless Rain night. There¡¦s a lot of things to say, I don't know where to start.
I only remember: During "It's Raining", when I heard him shout "COME ON GIRL", my heart jumped out of my chest.
I only remember: Rain's Special Show for China/Shanghai fans - the Drunken Fist dance (cab's comment: Ok...this is not new, but if the China fans feel that it's for them, then sure! http://209.85.48.9/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
I only remember: Rain's sweaty face amidst the pyrotechnics
I only remember: I was touched when Rain, wearing the white suit and spreading his wings, appealed for children stricken with HIV/AIDS.

What surprised me was how much his English had improved. Besides saying "Thank you all", "I love you all" and "How are you Shanghai" in Mandarin, the rest were said in English, and it was well said, without a Korean accent even.

Lastly, Rain also said to the fans:
Today, standing on this stage in Shanghai, I have fulfilled a dream.
The only reason why I can have today is because of you.
Actually, I really wish to be RAIN for the whole world.
That's what I bear everyday, that's why I work so hard.

Oh, flooded with Shanghai concert photos. Great pictures. I’m happy to see RAIN on stage again. Gosh, the fan that got the flowers, which RAIN threw, is very lucky. I envy her. I’m also happy to know that a concert was a success! He spoke good & improved English, huh. I love his message to the fans. The hair, I think he’s going to keep it as is until the promo of his upcoming movie.

He looks good on that new LG CF. I looked at his hand more than I look at the moon, huh? :cool:

Rain makes his plans for traveling in the U.S.

After completing filming the Hollywood movie Speed Racer, Rain is determined to march firmly into Europe and America, and will take charge of his English in the beginning of November when he flies to the US.

Rain's representing company announced that he will officially go to the US in the beginning of November, and will first fly from city to city such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago to visit and travel. Rain, who is now independently supporting himself and working on his own, will personally choose the school where he would study English as well as his living environment. His stop in the US is not only to enhance his English abilities, but also to enable him to have nearby local corporate discussions with record company(s), publishing house(s) and so on. Rain will use Speed Racer as the 1st step towards his official march into Europe and America. He will wait till the worldwide screening of the movie next year in May and will make use of this favorable situation to launch a full-scale development. The length of Rain's time in the US has yet to be determined. Prior to departure, the Shanghai concert held the day before yesterday and the Daegu concert to be held on the 27th as part of his appointment as ambassador for the Daegu World Athletics Championship, are his 2 final large-scale performances before his big move overseas.

There's a RAIN themed –restaurant in Taipei, with full of his stuffs like posters & others, & it's COOL! (saw this in one of his sites) The owner of the restaurant must be a fan of him, huh? And it’s a Chinese restaurant. Wish I could go there. They called the restaurant “Where Clouds Gather”. :)

10.09.07 Chinese Mobile Phones To be "Drenched by Rain"

Rain, who has made known to the whole world of his world tour through the motion of media video recording, will use mobile phones to reach 1.3 billion Chinese, thus arousing much attention.

The Korean entertainment company WIN-WIN disclosed, "Recently, we signed a contract of service with China and China's largest mobile phone company called China Unicom. From now on, the Chinese fans will be able to appreciate Rain's magnificent stage performances through the mobile phone."

Rain has previously been to places such as South Korea, Japan, HK, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and Thailand to conduct concerts and from there has chosen various scenes of some of his most spendid performances, conveying them to the mobile phones of Chinese fans by way of television and video downloads.

In addition to that, a Rain's Concert Live DVD will be issued in the near future. This DVD will officially be sold to Chinese fans by the end of this month.

The Rain products mentioned above will also be available through main Hallyu wave websites and so on (don't know exactly what kind of website this is...)

This playful Rain with a mask, was caught in Everland, Korea!

This kid went to Everland yesterday night, and the tall guy from Koyote was with him...

Before that they went to elsewhere, and they ate hamburger

When they were in Everland, Rain wore a mask (sth like gauze mask ), playing games and the best part, people can recognise him!!!

Guess what he said.... "Please hold on a while, hold on ya..." Then RAN AWAY!!

In fact many Koreans don't know that he's still in Korea, they thought him is doing filming overseas... This 'accidental' meetup really excited them....

1. Bae Yound June
Actor Bae Yong-joon, 35, affectionately called “Yonsama” by his fans, topped the poll for hallyu star of the year. The actor rose to hallyu stardom in 2002 after the drama “Winter Sonata” drew devoted fans in Asia, and continues on today. Bae currently stars in the blockbuster drama, “Taewangsasingi” (The Four Guardian Gods of the King), which is recording high ratings in Korea and will be broadcast in some 90 countries around the world.

2. Rain
Singer Rain, 25, boasts his strong fan base in Asia as he places second in the poll. The heartthrob singer-turned-actor whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is also noted for acting in the drama “Full House,” which was highly popular in Korea and around Asia. The hallyu star previously ventured out on a world concert tour and is now set to make his debut in Hollywood with the movie “Speed Racer.”

3. Song Seung Hun
Born in 1976, actor Song Seung-heon started his career as a model. Song is noted for his role in Korean dramas like “Autumn Fairy Tale” (2000) and “Summer Scent.” Discharged from military service last November, Song plans to hold a large-scale project in Japan to mark the 10th anniversary of his debut. Song will hold a fan meeting at the Saitama Super Arena on Feb. 16 next year and will release a photo DVD on Jan. 25.

4. Kwong Sang Woo
Actor Kwon Sang-woo, born in Daejeon, South Korea in 1976, became popular through his movie, “My Tutor Friend” (2003) and the television drama “Stairway to Heaven,” (2003-2004). In the latter, he co-starred with another hallyu actress Choi Ji-woo. Before becoming an actor, he worked as a model. Kwon is also renowned for his muscular body shape.

5. Yun Eun Hye
Yun Eun-hye is one of the hottest young stars in Korean entertainment. A former member of girl group Baby V.O.X., Yun shot to stardom in her debut role as an ordinary girl-turned-royal-princess in the “Princess Hours” in 2006.

The 23-year old actress followed it up with “The Vineyard Man,” and most recently, “Coffee Prince.” She is reportedly one of the highest paid actresses in television, commanding 20 million won per episode.

6. Choi Ji Woo
Choi Ji-woo won fans throughout Asia for her heartbreaking roles in popular dramas such as “Winter Sonata,” “Stairway to Heaven” and “Beautiful Days.” Female fans both adore and envy Choi because of her roles alongside heartthrobs Kwon Sang-woo, Bae Yong-joon and Lee Byung-hun.

Japanese fans even call her Princess Ji-woo. The 32-year old actress might have faltered with her recent drama “Air City,” but expect her to bounce back with another romantic drama in the future.

7. Boa
Pop superstar BoA continues to reign in Korea and Japan, nearly seven years after her debut. It is hard to believe BoA, who has released five Korean albums, five Japanese albums and 23 Japanese singles, will only turn 21 this year.

There are concerns that BoA’s popularity may be waning, after her last Japanese album failed to equal the success of her previous albums. BoA is reportedly preparing for her 6th Korean album.

8. Song Hye Kyo
Song, the sweet-faced actress of the international hit “Autumn Fairy Tale,” cast off her girlish image when she played Lee Byung-hun’s love interest in the blockbuster drama “All In.” They made headlines when they publicly announced they were a real couple. Recently, she shined in the film “Hwang Jin Yi,” and graced the cover of Korea’s Vogue magazine ? a first for a Korean actress. Her hallyu power is reflected in the customized “Song Hye-kyo bag” by luxurious French brand Celine.

9. Hyun Bin
Women fell in love with Hyun Bin through his role as a modern-day prince charming in the phenomenally popular “My Name is Kim Sam Soon,” which is now airing in even Israel. The TV series won him various awards at the 2004 and 2005 MBC drama awards.

The 25-year-old is loved for his down-to-earth charm and theboy-next-door appeal. He has recently starred in the movie “A Millionaire’s First Love.”

10. Lee Young Ae
Lee awed audiences near and far as a bright and cheerful court lady in “Jewel in the Palace.” Time only seems to do justice for the 36-year-old beauty. Lee was dubbed “melodrama queen” for her roles in such films as “One Fine Spring Day” and “Last Gift,” but sent a shockwave throughout the country for her unforgettable role in director Park Chan-wook’s “Lady Vengeance.” As a hallyu megastar, she is the ambassador for Hallyu Expo in Asia.

I’m so happy that he’s no. 2 on the 10 Hallyu Stars. More happier that my BIG 3 in my heart were on the list. Actually, I tried voting several times here. So, for anyone who’s questioning about the correct order in the list, just BE HAPPY that your idol is included in the list, huh? You don’t need to BASH, just take it somewhere else. Being no.2 is ok. At least, he’s there. You just can’t underestimate BYJ’s popularity especially in Japan. :)

actually when FH and S2H were shown back to back then, i loved ksw more than i did rain. but when i saw his mtvs on arirang, i was amazed by his singing and dancing style so i had to go have a 2nd look at my FH vcds then. and the rest is history. of course, ksw still remains in my top10 tho he had to take a back seat to rain;)

Talking about RAIN’s fashion sense, sometimes he’s amazingly HOT & sometimes just ok. But he looks best when wearing casual clothes. Oh, I love it when he wears beanies. The hair doesn’t bother me as much, long or short it’s fine with me, he’s absolutely fantastic whatever hairstyle he has, huh? For me, he looks good in everything. ;)

07.10.23 Rain contributes 30-min video for free!

Singer-and-actor RAIN (Jeong Jihun) had participated in a 30-minute filming for charity documentary without taking a single cent.

Rain casted in the 30-minute promotion film for MTV, it is a charity documentary for the global campaign called EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking, i.e. to prevent illegel selling of humans).

Rain received the invitation in June and immediately he promised to participate in the filming. In fact he was busy with the Hollywood film <Speed Racer> but he still spared his time and recorded the video explanation.

The documentary will be broadcasted in Oct 27, in which Rain (for Korean language) will introduce the exploitation and trafficking issues in Asian regions. Also, he will provide the solutions and recommendation that how consumers can prevent this from happening.

The European group, Campaign has organised this MTV EXIT campaign. From the interview with Simon Goff, the manager from this company by Sports Donga, "MTV never pays for these charity events... It's applicable to super stars like Angelina Jolie, Tata Young etc who took part before. In my opinion, it's indeed very meaning for artists to get involved in such event."

- Why Rain?

Well this is indeed the most common question I have in Korea. Since MTV is a music channel, we think that Rain is the most influencial singer and also the best candidate.

- How much you pay?

Frankly speaking, MTV never pays such charity events. For super stars like Angelina Jolie and Tata Young, they also did it without taking a single cent. And I think it's something very meaningful for artists to take part."

- Any plans for future event?

We begin with documentary and we'll produce animation. Probably these will be screened in 2008. In the same time, we'll make short CFs of 30-60 seconds and concerts. Of course if possible, we hope that Rain can be there as well.
