Korean superstar Rain¡¯s first solo concert in Hong Kong [One2Free Rain Rainy Day], is scheduled on this coming Saturday and Sunday. Drank dancing steps
Rain turned from a normal secondary student to the leader of the "Han-nyu". What and how much he paid is without any doubt.
Park Ji-young is being regarded as the key of turning this normal student to a great star. He goes back to his memory 5 years ago, and said "Rain's performance attracted me, he was doing every kind of performance without showing any tired faces. This made me felt that he is not a usual person!" On the other hand, Rain indicates that Park Ji-young is a teacher he respects a lot, "without him, I am sure there will not be "Rain". It's hard to compare our dancing as they are in different styles. We both do our best in our dancing!"
Actually, although Rain learns from Park Ji-young, he stills owns his unique dancing. Rain's dancing is rhythmic and full of energy, plus the absorption of outside elements(for example the drank dancing steps). Rain said " I think I can express everything through dancing."

It's not a temporary success
At March and July 2005, Rain had went China for the promotion of his album "It's Raining" and attending the MTV award.
The order quantity of the album is 100 thousands pieces, which is the record of Korean albums released in China. In Sept 2005, Rain held 2 concerts in Budokan which got 10 thousands fans' support. And for the concerts going to hold in HK, the tickets were all sold out in a minute.
Rain's success in these 3 years is not easy to get even others work 10 or 20 years more. It always make a person get lost under the situation of being supported by thousands and millions fans. However, to Rain, he is surely not falling into the trap. He will be a long-lasting King. That's because he is not only a star of the stage, he walked through poor and hard conditions.
Rain's childhood was as sad as the sorrow Korean drama. He lived with his parents and sister in a small metal house at the back of the market while he was young.
Due to daddy's failure in business, it was his Mom to bear the duty to earn money for the family. She sold "ttoh-bo-kki" in the market and her good son Rain always help in the shop. Rain and his sister were both introvert and silent because of the heavy duty from family.
"This charater insist till this moment. People have to spend a lot of time if he/she wants to get closer to me."Rain said.
Afterwards, his Mom died from diabetes, while his Daddy went to Brazil for work.
That's the wound which can never be cured deep inside Rain's heart but also the power for him to success.
"Every time I stand on the stage, I miss my Mom. For her, I still feel sorry till this moment. I've acheived what I promised her, that's to be a famous singer. If she knows, she will be happy with this!"

Story:
In "This Love That I Want to Kill", Bi will be playing the role of a K-1 Fighter, Kang Bok-Gu. He loves a woman whom he should not love; and his love will be of the tragic nature. At first he will start off as a K-1 fighter, but eventually he will become a popular actor/top star. However, the love he shares with the female lead will be quite tragic.
As the production of the drama "Cruel Love" came to a stop, Bi's return as an actor was postponed, as well. After Bi finishes his September concerts in Japan, he will begin shooting for the new drama.
In other news, the drama's title, "This Love That I Want to Kill" may switch to "I am Going to You". It is currently being debated.

she loved bok-gu from the very beginning and even put herself at risk to save bok-gu from a raging fire that he started. she grew up with bok-gu in a foster home/orphanage, but even so, bok-gu does not realize her love for him.
-- 김송희 [Kim Song-Hee] as 차유나 [Cha Yoo-Na] ;; eun-seok's younger stepsister
yoo-na is an understanding stepsister. she is small but sturdy, witty, and far from hesitant.

Q: How did you manage to show tears for the scenes?
RAIN: Every emotional scene has to be truthful, I think. Even during the acting, I have to know how I should respond to the situation. When I let my body and mind go with the flow, it gets easier to concentrate on the emotional scenes. To be truthful is the best way, I think.
Reporter: What was the today’s filming about?
RAIN: Yes…today’s is a hospital scene. My brother becomes a vegetable. So, we filmed that, and I must go to the set to film other scenes.
Reporter: You look thinner due to the busy schedule.

According to report in latest issue of Japanese magazine [Women Weekly], Korea mega star Rain and Jang Dong-Gun are actually personal good friends. Rain was Jang Dong-Gun’s fan before he started his career in entertainment line, after which, they become good friends. Rain - Internet fake concert tickets, Chan Ka Ying urged victims to report to police

Korea Heavenly King Rain who is holding 2 nights of his Solo concert this weekend at Hong Kong Wan Chai, there were reports of people putting up their tickets to website for auction sale, taking chance to make profit. Yesterday Oriental Daily received complaints from readers that there are tickets put up to internet site for auction sale, also discovered that most of these VIP tickets have no serial numbers. She complaint that she is not pleased with internal staff holding some tickets and in turn put them up for internet auction. Reporter called up Rain¡¯s Hong Kong Manager Chan Ka Ying, she stressed that there were no such VIP tickets, and urged the Fans to be careful, she said :[Do not get cheated.]

Precaution taken on auction sale of tickets

There are messages left by anxious fans in the internet auction website, who badly wanted to buy 2 tickets for Rain¡¯s concert, willing to pay HK$5,000 for the tickets, the reporter discovered from the internet that there are a lot of sellers putting up 1 pair of HK$580 tickets, calling at HK$1,500 as the starting bid price for auction. Chan Ka Ying said : [Rain knew that the response in the sale of his concert tickets are very good, we had made necessary precaution to prevent auction sale, we believe that the internal staff did not hold these tickets and there is a limit quota to each person at the public ticketing sale.] She urged the fans to be careful of being cheated, she added [If there is any cheating, the victim should report to the police. (So will you report to the police?) It is very difficult for me because this is a deal made by the buyers, I hope that the fans will buy the tickets thru proper channel and be patient in waiting, Rain will come to Hong Kong on 7 October to prepare for the concert, the fans will then have a chance to see him.] Chan Ka Ying has informed the Korean counterpart the situation of the ticket sale, she said [Hope that the Korean side will make arrangement for Rain to have a concert in Hong Kong next year.]

Meanwhile, the Cable TV will broadcast about 30 minutes of Rain¡¯s exclusive performance at Japan Budokan concert and 15 minutes of brief glimpse tomorrow, to let his fans enjoy his performance before his concert this weekend.

Rain Gets Ready to Pour It On

In the last three years since starting out as a back-up dancer for singer Park Ji-yoon, Rain has show K-pop nothing but nonstop action.
His first song, ``Bad Guy (Napun Namja),'' was a sensation that took him to all the major local award ceremonies, many of which honored him with best new artist awards.
His following recording efforts didn't fail to deliver. ``How to Run From the Sun (Taeyangul Pihanun Pangbop),'' his first single from the sophomore recording, and ``It's Raining'' from his third album of the same title dominated the charts at No. 1 for weeks.
So it is pretty much safe to say Rain's career has been heading in only one direction _ up.
Geographically, the situation is a bit more complicated as his career has taken the singer everywhere. With Korea pretty much covered, last year Rain officially started to make his way into Japan to the east and China to the west.
Just last month Rain performed alongside American diva Mariah Carey and Japanese superstar Amuro Namie at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2005, held at NK Hall in Tokyo.
Not only was he invited as a performing artist but the 23-year-old singer was there to pick up the ``Best Buzz Asia from Korea'' award.
With the exception of J-pop outfits, Rain was the only other singer from the Asian region. The line-up that night included Ashanti, Hoobastank and Jamiroquai.
Rain performed ``It's Raining,'' the title track from his most recent album.
Other international guest artists in the show include American singer Ashanti and rock band Hoobas Tank, and British band Jamiroquai.
Hong Kong-based daily Mingbao, reported in April that the results to an online poll showed that Chinese Internet users ranked Rain the fifth most popular South Korean celebrity. Actors Song Seung-hun and Bae Yong-joon were among those ranked ahead of him.
``What I've learned from my experiences performing is that I can't be performing lost in the thought that `Oh. I am hot,''' he told the Yonhap News Agency in an interview backstage of the recent MTV Video Music Awards Japan. ``What I do is try to get the party started by working with the audience.''
Rain had already been honored with a guest spot at MTV Asia Aid earlier this spring.
Having pocketed two MTV honors already all he needs is to score at next month's MTV Music Video Awards China to be the first Asian performer to achieve a grand slam.
Rain said that he plans to work hard but his hopes are high.
``Being the first Asian MTV grand slammer would guarantee my popularity here. My chances of making appearances on American MTV would then be greater,'' he said.
Rain is currently recording his next album, set for release in November according to his agency, JYP Entertainment.
The album will be released simultaneously in South Korea and Japan. However, unlike his Japanese debut album, ``It's Raining,'' his second album up for release, will include some different tracks from the one that will hit local record stores.
In the meantime, the singer is set to go to China, where he will hold a showcase and a news conference on July 1 in Beijing, timed with the Chinese release of ``It's Raining.'' He will then head to Hong Kong for another showcase and news conference on July 3.
Then, Rain will go to Japan for concerts in Tokyo on July 30 and 31 and in Osaka on Aug. 3 and 4.
All 11,000 tickets to the Tokyo leg of his ``Rainy Day'' tour sold out in under 30 seconds when the box office opened on the morning of June 10.
His Osaka concerts look as if they will sell out soon said JYP Entertainment.
Rain, who has given impressive performances in two TV dramas, ``Sangduya Haggyo Kaja'' in 2003 and ``Full House'' in 2004, has chosen his next acting role.
Rain will star opposite Ko So-young in the miniseries ``Motoen Sarang,'' which is slated to premiere in September on MBC.
Given the fact that his performance in Full House won him with the Best Actor Award at the KBS Acting Awards, fans are already wondering how Rain will portraying his character, the rich pompous Yong-ki, who falls in love with In-jong (Ko).

South Korean pop star singer, Rain (Jung Ji Hoon), makes his way to Hong Kong again today. He arrived around 11:00 a.m. in HK this morning to launch his two nights "Rain Rainy Day 2005" Hong Kong Concert that will be held in Hui Zhan starting tomorrow. Because Rain and his manager listened to the opinions of Hong Kong sponsor K's and the manager of the Hong Kong area, Chen Jia Ying and the fans, they have agreed to not leave the airport by a secret terminal like they did last time and disappoint the fans. This time he would definitely greet his fans. However, in order to avoid disturbing other passengers, they still left by a special gate that the police have arranged. But at the appointed time, Rain would still meet and greet his fans before leaving. Rain to launch Asia tour in 20 cities next year! - China Times Daily 04.09.2005

Taiwan fans will have a chance to see "Lee Young Jae" in summer next year! Yesterday, in Tokyo, Rain announced that he will hold his very first Asia tour in summer next year, and the tour is expected to cover 20 cities including Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Hongkong, China & Singapore. There will be a total of 30 concerts.

The 23-year-old Rain held concerts in Tokyo's Budokan over the past 2 days. He expressed that he plans to reside long-term in Japan next year, in order to focus on the japanese market.

In actual fact, Rain has already launched his concert dvd <Rainy Day> in Japan on 31 August. The minute the dvd was launched, it ranked #4 on the sales chart, thus providing a good boost to his career in japan. Other than this, he also announced that he will hold his very first Asia concert tour in summer next year, and Taiwan is slated to be one of the stops, however the exact concert date has yet to be scheduled.

<Full House>, the drama which Rain and song Hye Gyo co-starred in, propelled Rain to stardom in Asia this year, and this serial achieved high viewership ratings in Taiwan. In July this year, Rain went to HK to promote his album, and chaos erupted everywhere he went. In terms of popularity, he definitely does not lose out to another Korean heavenly king, Bae Yong Jun.

Rain will be holding his first concert in HK in Oct. Although the concert tickets have not gone on public sale, his fans have already started a ticket-snatching frenzy.

It was rumored recently that Pepsi will be paying Rain a 8-figure sum to be their endorser. Other than this, Rain will also be replacing Jay as the new endorser of DHC cosmetics line in HK. His endorsement fee is HKD$4 million, which is more than Jay's fee of HKD$3 million. It looks like the endorsement war between the 2 single-eyelids Asia heavenly kings has just started.

Rain to be PEPSI new ambassador

Korean popular male artiste Rain who swept Asia recently, had gain popularity among both male and female fans. Due to his popularity, it has changed the initial plan of Pepsi which does not intend to offer Korean artistes to be Pepsi's ambassador. Now they have changed their mind to offer a high price to invite Rain to be its new "blue blood".


For the past 2 years, Pepsi had spent enormous amount of fund in search of the world popular mega stars, offering them to be its ambassador. Rain to appear on CNN’s “Talk Asia”

Singer/actor Rain (real name Chung Ji-hoon), 23, will make an appearance on the international news channel CNN.

Rain’s agency, JYP Entertainment, said on Oct. 8 that the singer will give an interview on CNN’s show “Talk Asia” on Oct. 9 at a Hong Kong hotel. The show, which is hosted by Lorrain Hahn, who is of Korean descent, features prominent figures from Asia and airs throughout the entire Asian region.

In his interview, Rain, nicknamed a “new Asian icon,” will share his thoughts on recent trends in Asian culture. The show’s airing date is yet to be announced.

Other prominent guests who appeared on the show in the past include former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung, musicians Chung Myung-hoon and Cho Su-mi, singers Kim Gun-mo and Um Jung-hwa, Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and film director Zhang Yimou, among others.

Singer, Wheesung(23) complimented same-age singer, Bi.

Recently, Wheesung was interviewed for Good Day and was asked if there was anyone he considered his rival. To this he responded, "I've never thought of anyone as a rival because I don't feel like I'm beating anyone" and "But I do respect Bi, BoA, Park Hyoshin, Na Eul, and many others for being able to show off such talent in their genres."

He specifically mentioned Bi when he said, "It's amazing how he can be so passionate about every single performance when he's gone without rest for so long" and "it seems like he'd begin to grow exhausted by now, but I think he's even enjoying his lack of rest." When Rain were dancing with a sexily-dressed female dancer, both touched and hugged each other and even had his head leaned onto the dancer’s chest, followed by 3 female dancer ripping off Rain’s shirt, all of them helped each other to strip the tops, at the end female dancer were left with bra top while Rain bared his top, a blood-boiling effect for all audience.
Later, Rain dressed in all white as a Prince Charming, he sung and stripped simultaneously, first took off his white suit, then ripped off his white shirt showing his muscular chest, and squating down with artificial rain pouring and wetting his body, revealing his waist-down as his white pants were sheer and slim-fit, a seductive move to the audience, the best of all was the scene when Rain took off his top baring his chest for his fans, a new HIGH for fans. When Rain finished his song, he shyly used his arms to cover his bare top, giggle with gentle smile and act adorably. In order to communicate with his fans, Rain has used 2 languages, sung in Korean, spoke in English. Though he has been saying the same [I Love You], and simple English [I Love You, You Love me, I promised that I will do the Best]. He has also raised his arms above his head making heart sign [I Love You], he has invited a female fan to the stage, giving away soft toy, flower and a ring, hug her and leaning his head against hers, the fans below the stage screaming with jealousy. The female fans who was so mesmerized on stage, has told his staff that her wallet was missing when getting off the stage, one jealous female fan snapped : [Losing a wallet is worthwhile!]
Besides showing great dance moves, Rain also shown some [kungfu] skills, he was lifted up high on stage, play games with his dancers like splashing water to each other, a dancer who helped Rain wiped off sweat on his body threw the towel off stage when fans rushed to snatch it, a few fans fell due to this but fortunately no injury. Rain invited his mentor J.Y. Park and his fellow singers as his guests of honor, Rain sung 1 encore song and before end of the show, he held a placard written in Chinese [Hello everybody, I am Rain, thank you very much for coming to this concert, tonight we are as one body, I really love every one of you……. I Rain will not disappoint everybody, will work harder, I love you all.]
On Saturday night, there were a lot of supporting guests, namely the popular American singer – Tyrese Gibson came to Hong Kong to support Rain, several Korean Embassy officials; Rain and the crew members went to Sai Kong [Sea Side Food Centre] to have supper after the concert ended, sampling Hong Kong’s famous seafood. After eating and drinking to his fill, Rain returned to his hotel with protection of several bodyguards.

His third offering, It's Raining, is the kind of album that has one song called &quot;I Love You&quot; and another called &quot;But I Love You.&quot;

Despite having sleek dance moves as a performer, Rain's music lacks originality and excitement. The monotonous R&B style also makes it hard to differentiate the tracks.

In addition, Rain's sensitive new-age male persona has been overtly displayed in It's Raining. One can't help cringing to cheesy lyrics like &quot;Girl, I'm ooh ooh ooh ooh, I'm crying for you&quot; and &quot;Can't you see that it's me girl? Baby, it's me you're looking for.&quot; Overall, It's Raining is far too long on gentle, faceless crooning about the usual encounter of opposite sexes and an unnamed girl who makes him weep.

That said, Asian singers have failed trying to break the lucrative U.S. market for the longest time. The next contender is none other than Rain who attempts to conquer America. In the end, artists like CoCo Lee, Utada Hikaru, Ho Yeow Sun, and Rain can always wiggle their way back to their die-hard Asian fans.

Korean Heavenly King Rain performed at Hong Kong in a wildful act for Rain fans. On Sunday night which is the last concert {One2Free Rain Rainy Day Hong Kong Concert 05}, showering the audience with his charming smile, 42-inch broad musculine chest and blowing kisses, even made seductive move like ‘pretending’ act of taking off his pants, causing a new “high” atmosphere at the concert. He ripped off his shirt shortly after the concert started, using both of his arms to ‘pretend’ taking off his belt and pants, resulting loud scream from female fans.
At one point when Rain was dancing with a sexy female dancer whose accessory on her dress was hooked onto Rain’s belt buckle, both of them struggled a while before they could get separated, Rain at this time revealed a cheeky and oddward smile.
During the concern, Rain again invited a matured-looking female audience to act as his stage ‘girlfriend’, when this lady said that she is 20 years old, Rain commented in English [Really? Very young!] Rain was in a very good mood that night, has said many times [I Love You] and blew kisses to the audience. Towards the end of the concert, Rain and his dancers were splashing water to each other, he was so mischievious to pull his mentor Mr J Y Park out from the backstage and splash water on him too. At last Rain held placards with Chinese words to show his appreciation and thank all his fans for their support, making a perfect closing of his concert in Hong Kong.
The last night of his concert, there were several celebrities attended his concert, they are Stephen Fung, Deanie Yip, Kam Kok Leong, Miss Hong Kong Winner Yip Chui Chui, and even Cecilia Chung whom very much admired by Rain attended with her Caucasian boyfriend, with her rumored ex-boyfriend Jordan Chan sat next to her; they did not talk much but left the concert together shortly before it ended.

Sexy dancer dress caught on to Rain's belt

Storming thru Asia with his charm, Rain held his last concert in Hong Kong on Sunday night. He continued to charm his 7,000 fans at the concert, at one time when he was dancing with a sexy dancer, his belt was caught with her dress, who has to use her hand on his lower body to adjust it, making Rain ticklish and so he giggled non-stop.
The concert attracted many celebrities to attend, including Deanie Yip, Stephen Fung and rumored couple Cecilia Chung and Jordan Chan etc. That night Rain was wearing a huge leather belt which was hooked on to the lady dancer¡¦s dress while they were dancing, both of them quickly adjust the oddward situation. The female fan who was invited to the stage to perform, when being informed that she is only 20 years old, Rain suspiciously said : [Really? Meanwhile, fans all round the world will gather to support Rain¡¦s concert at Workers Gymnasium in Beijing on 22 October. In order to prevent fake concert tickets, the Organizer has spent a 6-figure amount for this prevention work. As the venue could accommodate 50,000 people, the production fee of this concert reach tens of thousands of dollars, at least 7 to 8 containers are required to transport the stage building parts and music instruments.

Rainy Day HK record
With the Korean TV drama "Full House", Rain is well-known in HK. This Korean singer Rain is causing "storm" and "heavy rain" which last 200 days. However, his every visit to HK are short, and his HK fans only have a few minutes to see him in real person.
This Rain, who loves his fans very much, of course will not disappoint his fans! So "Rain Rainy Day in HK 2005" was hold last weekend on 8/10(Sat). His performance last for 135 mins.
Rain is serious with every seconds in the concert, dance and sing for every minute.
Not only dancing and singing, but also showing his firm chest muscle, wetting himself and saying "I love you!" to his fans.
He didn't waste any moment in the concert, made all the audience(around 8000 people, 95% is female) happy and blissful!

The first concert began on 8/10 8:15p.m., "º°" was the begining performer, and then Rain sang his famous song "³ª»Ó ³²ÀÚ". Fans were getting excited by this song.
After singing the second song, Rain talked to his fans with pure English "I'm Rain! Thank you for coming. I'am so happy to meet you here. Let's have some fun!"

He made his fans very happy
Except singing and dancing, he used every method to please his fans. In the song "ã¾Æ¿ä", Rain invited one of his fans to the stage, not only sending flowers and doll, but also with a deep hug!! Every one in the concert shout with their maximum voice. Then in the song "Àͼ÷Ä¡ ¾Ê¾Æ¼&shy;" which is the song for his dearest mother, everyone was touched by his love to his mother.
But what made the fans please the most was his "I love you", "I'll do my best" to his fans during the concert. While the encore part finished, he hold some cards with Chinese on it to show his heart-feeling to his fans. The concert ended at 10:30 p.m. with his bows, every fans felt enough.

Before the Rainy Day HK
Last Fri (7/10) Rain arrived HK, this time less fans went to the airport to welcome him as comparing to last time, but this didn't make Rain unhappy. Once he saw the fans in the airport, he waved his hand and greeted the fans.
Media from different corner of the Asia came to the press conference. Rain greeted the media with Cantonese. The interview lasted for 30 mins. What disappointed the media was the translator of Rain won't translate the "sensitive questions" for the media.

Present from the concert organizer is a gold boat, which implied "everything runs smooth in the concerts". Rain used Cantonese "thank you" to show his thanks.

What's difference in the Rainy Day HK?
As to keep the original concept for the concert, the process for the concert in the third station "Hong Kong" of the Asia Tour Concert didn't change a lot, but there were still some unique points. This shown Rain's love to his HK fans. If you want to review the scene which he cried, you have to buy the concert DVD.
