She shot the Korean celebrities and put them in a different light kaya si Bi ganyan yung itsura parang napalaban ng di oras at parang gula-gulanit ang porma :D

”Full House” aired in the Philippines from February to April on GMA, Philippines’ ground-wave broadcaster, recording a rating of 30.2 percent for the first episode and reaching 50.5 percent on April 17.

According to AGB Philippines, seven Korean television dramas have made it onto the list of top-10 Asian dramas shown in the country so far (including re-runs). Aside from “Full House,” which set the record, other KBS dramas such as “Autumn Fairy Tale” and “Winter Sonata” were also popular with Filipino audiences.

KBS was the first to export Korean dramas to the Philippines in July of 2003, and has since been exporting its programs to the country continuously. “KBS Media has been exporting KBS programs to Japan, China, Taiwan and now the Philippines as well. We plan to continue to expand our exports in the future as well as sustain the ‘hallyu’ boom,” said a person from KBS.

RAIN ON ASIANPLUS COVER STORY

Part 1
Talking about Rain's successful career in 2003, it was because of his brilliant performance in SANGDOO: LET'S GO TO SCHOOL. Rain was well-known as a singer and dancer before starring the series. And his debut album was unexpectedly a hit. After the first album, people outside Korea didn't know who Rain is. Although in China there were a number of loyal fans, he was not as popular as he is now after doing a part in FULL HOUSE. And Se7en became a new king of R&B in 2003, threatened RAIN. He won The Best Newcomer in 2002, and of course people compare
him with Se7en. And the number of Rain's fans at that time is lower then Se7en's. Then he decided to become an actor. Rain played with Lee Dong Gun and Gong Hyo Jin in SANG DOO.

The theme of the story is different than other series,made people started to like RAIN as an actor. And Rain won a KBS award as the best newcomer. Fall 2003, Rain decided to be a singer, and an actor.

2004, GOING ABROAD
Rain started his career as a singer under JYP Management. The company didn't realize how important it is to gain foreign market. GOD was JYP's
masterpiece, but the group was popular only in Korea. The company (THANK GOD) changed their marketing strategy and boosted up RAIN's career to Japan and other countries in ASIA.

In March, after doing promotion for his 2nd album in Korea, RAIN brought his album FROM THE SUN with his tutor, Park Jin Young, stamped his feet abroad. Even though there was no big promotion to promote his
coming to China, it was still satisfying. Not so many people came to the airport but a group of fans stalked him wherever he went in China.
Ten months later, RAIN came back to China and he gained a big sucesss. He performed with Baby Vox for a charity show on December 18.

RAIN RULES JAPAN

Get a huge success in China, his second target is Japan. The competition is tight. Be a trendsetter in Japan is every singer's dream. After a long
preparation, on November 11 2004 Rain officially started his debut in Japan. The first time he came to Japan, he showed up in an annual event in Osaka. Three dyas later he performed for International Pop Stage
Art Event 2004 in Shibuya, Tokyo. RAIN, who always considers the importance of doing his best, showed his outstanding performance as one of the best Korean performers. Fans reaction reached its climax when they saw RAIN onstage, just like the other popular Japanese artists. Japan's Media also gave RAIN a 5 star for his performance. Thay said his series SANG DOO got a place in Rain's Japanese fans, as well as his albums. He is not only great at acting and singing, he is also a great dancer, and RAIN is very handsome.

NEVER FORGET KOREAN FANS
Even Rain's schedule outside Korea in 2004 was very hectic, RAIN became popular in many countries in Asia, US, Canada, and Europe, he never forget his fans in Korea. He showed up as a gust star in many concerts, Rain didn't sing his new song for his fans. A long awaited
album was released in October 8 2004, IT'S RAINING. He felt guilty because he copcentrated on acting and foreign market. His 3rd album was delayed to be released.
After doing FULL HOUSE, he didn't take a break. For 1 month he isolated himself finishing his 3rd album, creating new coreography. Then in 358 days after his 2nd album, he stood on stage in front of his Korean
fans. A huge success from FULL HOUSE and his 3rd album, he
becomes more popular in his own country and abroad. He received 6 awards for his outsatanding performance.

Rain's Voice is the Best!

Rain was selected as the singer who has the most beautiful voice. He obtained 664,341 in an internet survey from April 23 to May 3 2005. It was organized by Star-v (www.star-v.7.co.kr). 778,377 net surfers took part in this survey. TVXQ!, Tei, Wheesung, Fly to the sky, Naul, Jo Sung-Mo and Sung Su-kyung were alsoincluded in the list of candidates. Jo Sung-Mo occupied the second rank with 103,562 votes. Member of Brown-eyed Soul Naul occupied third place. "Prince of R&B" Wheesung ranked fourth while "Idol of Pre-Teens" TVXQ! placed fifth. Fly to the Sky, Sung Si-kyung and Tei follow them.

Rain to Perform With Int'l Stars

Local pop singer Rain will perform in Japan on May 29 along with Mariah Carry and Amuro Namie.
Rain was invited to the MTV Video Music Awards Japan as a performing artist, which is held at 6 p.m. at NK Hall in Tokyo.

The 23-year-old singer is the only Asian singer except Japan’s pop singers and groups. He will sing ``It’s Raining,’’ title song from his third album.

Other international guest artists in the show include American singer Ashanti and rock band Hoobas Tank, and British band Jamiroquai.

The audience was enraptured when the singer started dancing onstage to the powerful sound and dynamic beat of his song “It's Raining.” Rain took full advantage of the whole stage to show off his diverse dance moves. Those in the audience who saw Rain for the first time said they were amazed by the tall, good-looking singer showing off his impressive dancing skills.

In his acceptance speech Rain, mixing Korean with English and Japanese, said that he was grateful for the award and promised to work harder to become an even better artist. He expressed his appreciation to his Korean fans as well as all his fans who were present in the audience.

TOKYO - Rain was among the hottest international stars in music last Sunday for the MTV Music Video Awards Japan 2005, winning "best pop artist of Korea." Pop diva Mariah Carey, Ashanti and Linkin Park were also there to accept awards that evening, cheered on by thousands of fans at the Tokyo Bay NK Hall.

"With so many talented artists out there, and the artists at this event, I really didn't expect to win. I am very happy and I appreciate this award from MTV," said Rain at a press conference.

On stage, Rain thrilled the audience with his strong live vocal performance and sexy dance moves. He shared the stage with performances by Crystal Kay, Hoobastank, and Jamiroquai; proving that Rain has reached international star status.

"I really enjoyed performing in Japan, and I really appreciate the support," Rain said.

The Japanese cross-dressing comedian, Gorie, who won the award for "most entertaining video," danced that evening in a pink cheerleader's costume. He was also fond of Rain and looks forward to seeing more of him in Japan.

"I was in the same room with Rain backstage, and he didn't even look at me! I think he's tall, handsome, and a great dancer. Please tell Rain that I will always be watching out for him, and if there's any opportunity to work with him, I would be very interested - even to be his girlfriend!" said Gorie during a press conference in front a laughing crowd of reporters.

According to JYP's New Business Director, Jimmy Jeong, Rain will have a concert tour in Tokyo on July 30 to 31, then Osaka on August 3 to 4. Also, his live concert DVD will be released in Japan on July 2.

Rain's crossover to the U.S. market is on the horizon, with an upcoming feature in Lil' Kim's next album. Park Jin-young, Rain's producer, is making great inroads into the U.S. music industry, already having produced a song entitled "I wish I made that" on Will Smith's recent album "Lost and Found."

Rain Poised to Advance to U.S.

Top artist Rain, who received an award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2005 on May 29, said in an interview on May 30 that he is now poised to establish his presence in the U.S. Rain gave the interview at the Capital Doku Hotel in Japan, where he has been staying to participate in the MTV VMAJ 2005 and promote his new album.

"I received an award at the MTV Asia Aid in Thailand earlier in February, and this time at the MTV VMAJ 2005. My next goal is to win an award at the MTV China Awards in August. I hope this ‘MTV Grand Slam’ will serve as a springboard for my advancement to the American market," said Rain.

Rain won the “Favorite Artist of Korea” award at the MTV Asia Aid, which was held Feb. 3 in Thailand, and the “Best Buzz Asia from Korea” award at the MTV VMAJ 2005 on May 29.

"MTV Asia awards are highly regarded in the U.S. I heard it is much easier to make inroads into the U.S. market after completing the ‘MTV Grand Slam,’ which will be possible if I win an MTV China award as well," said Rain.

Rain also added that he once again felt how talented Korean artists are at the MTV VMAJ 2005, saying that artists such as Hui-sung and Park Hyo-shin have strong potential to receive recognition from MTV.

Rain, who is riding high in popularity in Japan, China and Thailand, has emerged as a rising “world star” and is soon to record several songs with “hip-hop queen” Lil’ Kim.

"I am still making first steps toward becoming a globally renowned artist. Fortunately, audiences like my songs. And I feel the urgent need to speak English fluently. Strong English skills would be of great help in terms of communication and my career," said Rain.

Rain’s ‘Fantastic Power Dance’ in ‘Video Music Award Japan 2005’ Drove the Archipelago into intense earthquake


Singer Rain stood shoulder to shoulder with word-famous pop artists. In the VMAJ 2005 held in the NK Hall in Tokyo Bay in Chiba Japan on May 29, the stage went hotter through Rain’s appearance with such as Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Amuro Namie.

Rain is the first-time case in Asia that the VMAJ invited a singer of the other countries else than the host country Japan as a ‘performing artist.’ As well as his blessed performance, he enjoyed his being awarded. In succession to Lee Minwoo of Shinhwa last year, he received the ‘best buzz Asia from Korea’ this year.

Seeing the 4th this year, the VMAJ is the awarding ceremony, which selects the most popular music videos for the past year, which is world-renowned music festival hosted by the MTV Japan. The ‘Buzz Asia’ is the joint program that is projected for the sake of musical exchange between Korea, Japan and Twaiwan. Since July 2003, each country introduces a chosen artist of the month.

Around the peak on this day’s event, Rain did the special performance after the awarding of the ‘best album of the year.’ Surrounded by 8,000, Rain took the fans’ breaths away through his unique powerful dance. Then, right on the progress of his dynamic dancing and his hit song ‘It’s Raining,’ they stood up and cheered with their both hands up high. Some of the fans shouted cries, waving the tassels symbolizing the color of Rain.

Afterwards receiving the ‘buzz Asia’ award, Rain also overwhelmed the audience through his refined manner. Before aware of it, he changed into a black suit. He came upon the stage and put his thanks into Korean, English and Japanese, “Thank you very much. It is all thanks to you. I will try my best for a better artist.” The VMAJ containing Rain’s activity is prerecorded and telecasted through the MTV Korea 7 o’clock P.M. June 19.

Meanwhile, in the Tokyo TV’s ‘Whoever Picasso (Daredemo Picasso)’ which the famous director and actor Kitano Takeshi emcees, Rain showed up as the second Korean wave star in succession to Lee Byeongheon May 27. Kitano Takeshi was reported to have shown the special interest by saying such as “I’d like to learn Rain’s dance. It might have been better if I have applied Rain’s action in the movie ‘Zatoichi’.”

Rain’s ‘Passionate Sexy Performance’ Melt the Japanese Isles

In the Japan’s biggest music festival, the VMAJ 2005 held in the NK hall of Tokyo Bay for 4 hours from 6:30 P.M. last 29th of May, Rain was invited as the only Asian singer to the congratulation stage, in which he drove the 8,000 Japanese fans into the pot of enthusiasm.

On the day Rain entered the stage shoulder to shoulder with the world musicians such as Mariah Carey, Hoobastank, Ashanti, Amuro Namie. By appearing on the stage in white sleeveless sexy vest and trousers, he displayed his exclusive sexy dance for 30 seconds. Right afterwards by assimilating ‘It’s Raining’ perfectly into live, he received a good hand clapping. Rain’s fan club in Japan, the ‘Cloud Japan’ members would spell ‘Jeong Jinhun’ at every chance in accordance to Rain’s singing by waving the silver tassels of the fan club’s symbol vigorously out of each place of the audience, which attracted as far as the others’ attention.

On this day, Rain received one of the ‘best buzz Asia’ which category was special-new-established last year by the MTV Japan.

It is special prizes for the artists representative of Japan, Taiwan and Korea, each of which prizes was assigned to Japanese group Orange Range, Taiwanese Stefanie Sun and Rain. Rain went upon the awarding stand in parallel with Orange Range and Stefanie Sun, and spoke his impression.

Rain drew attention especially by expressing his impression as awardee in English, Korean and Japanese. After putting the following into English, “There are many thanks to express. I will somehow try my best for a better artist,” Rain continued saying in Korean, “I also express thanks to Korean fans.” He finally showed off his fluent Japanese saying, “All these are also thanks to the Japanese fans here.”

Now in the meantime, Rain returns to Korea on May 31, after various promotions’ schedule after the Award. Rain’s working company JYP’s person in charge said, “He will be relax for a while in Korea, until Rain will come back as a performer in TV drama by deciding about a piece of drama. Later, he is planning on releasing an album within this year.”
