In connection with the post below me on the tight guarding of the materials in the upcoming CTV 8PM drama "The Hospital", there is a big possibility that the satellite feed of the said domestic television station from Taiwan could be blocked to viewers outside of Taiwan.

Regional viewers got a first taste of censorship in pop idol dramas of a magnitude like "The Hospital" only last year, when Taiwan's cable programmer San Lih Television (SET), blocked feeds of the first run of its pop idol dramas "Mr. Fighting" featuring 5566's Tony Sun and Zax Wang, and "The Frog Prince" featuring 183 Club and Ming Dao, with Joe Chen carried by TTV, and in turn by regional satellite TV (http://tsinoy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2552#) provider C-Skynet.

Both "Mr. Fighting" and "The Frog Prince" registered above 6.00% average TV ratings that time, which prompted the satellite provider (http://tsinoy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2552#) that carries to block the signals of the two shows for copyright reasons. After the two shows though, it did not censor anymore its subsequent programs like "Green Forest, My Home (Leon Williams and Esther Liu of Sweety)" and the recent Sunday night blockbuster "The Magicians of Love (Ming Dao, Sam Wang of 5566 and Joanne Zhen of Sweety)".

Several countries, including the Philippines (http://tsinoy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2552#) (via ABS-CBN), have already bought rights to "The Hospital" way in advance, and this has increased the possibility of a signal block for the show's first run in Taiwan to viewers outside of Taiwan. If ever this will materialize, local Jerry fans need not have to be surprised at all by the move. If the producers of Taiwan's pop idol shows have done this to SET dramas before, it can do so with the others.

We do not mean to disappoint Jerry fans here in Manila, but this is one of the possibilities that might arise from the intense talk in Taiwan and elsewhere in Asia about "The Hospital" even before its August 15 TV (http://tsinoy.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2552#) premiere in Taiwan.

According to Liberty news article, Jerry & Leon Dai wont be guesting in any tv variety shows for promo of The Hospital.
The other casts such as Ms Zhang, Xu An An, etc, will be as guests. So inevitably, there
will be insinuations by certain quarters that Jerry is too "big" to appear in such programmes, etc, etc.

(fatty2: according to Tw fans, most Tw variety shows are more focus on gossips, personal life, etc,
instead of focusing on promo of projects. so this cld be the reason why Jerry decides not to
appear on these programmes. if this is so, i applaud Jerry for daring to do that inspite of knowing
that he may offend a lot of variety show hosts & that insinuations/accusations may be brought
against him. the newspaper articles seems to concentrate on Jerry's decision on not guesting &

In another newspaper article of today, Janine Zhang, the leading lady, frankly revealed that she fell in
love with Jerry during the filming of The Hospital. There was one parting scene during filming
of The Hospital between her & Jerry, in that scene, her tears were for real. Since she & Jerry were
together for 9 months filming The Hospital & their r'ship in the serial were intense, it took Janine
2 months after ending of filming of The Hospital, to get out of her role as Dr Kwan & get back to normal.

(fatty2: understandable this kind of situation. during 1 interview a few years back, Jerry said that
due to filming for long months & many scenes together, its quite natural for artistes who play a couple,
to develop "feelings" for each other & this also helps them when acting as its come across as very natural.

Two nights ago, after the Presscon of The Hospital, Jerry Yan and his assistant rode a taxi to meet Director Cai and his wife at Yong He Residential, but because he's being followed by the paparazzis, he asked the cab driver to reroute for almost half an hour. The cab driver was a little bit scared because of the cars trying to get near his cab. Jerry said not to panic and do not beat the red light, just drive with care. In his panic, he suddenly parked his cab on the street and took a leak. This surprised Jerry and his assistant being left behind by the driver. Then, some 4 cars began honking because the cab wasn't parked properly. Due to this, Fenny had to drive away the cab so the other cars can pass through. In this situation, Jerry left a sour-smiling face as fenny drove the cab. AFter that he was able to reach his destination, still being followed, he ended his exciting cab experience with a big smile and hi to the paparazzis as the elevator door closes.

In another article, it was mentioned that Jerry told Director Cai that some cab driver pulled off while in the middle of the chase with the paparazzi and took a leak first before driving him to his destination. This also made a commotion within the neighboorhood of Yong He Residential, a few police and o-ba-sang (old ladies) were nosing around.

The cab driver was interviewed also and he said he was given 1000NT but the meter only had 400NT. Then he said not to take shots of him because he was just asked what to do and he doesn't have anything to do with his customer.

Title: Janine Zhang fell in love with Jerry Yan
wrote a paper to “forget the feelings"


In the filming of The Hospital, Janine Zhang had many love encounters with Jerry Yan. Outside, Janine also really loved this handsome guy but she knew it's impossible for both of them. After the shooting ended, she just poured out in her masteral thesis so she can slowly pull it out her feelings. Jerry and Janine had many love scenes in the drama. So that they can internalize the intimate scenes, Director Cai purposely filmed these love scenes towards the later stage of the filming. In the final parting scene, people were moved by her acting that she said,” Tears just kept flowing, I don’t have to practice anymore and later, I just found out I had really fell in love with him.” She said that she didn’t get over with her feelings to Jerry even after the shootings ended. So she changed her attention to writing all the important parts of her life in her graduation thesis.

Coincidently, it is time for members of F4ever (www.f4ever.org (http://www.f4ever.org/)) to renew their membership. A lot of Xu's fans indicate that they have already turned into
members of Starjerry, and they won't renew their membership with F4ever。

According to source, F4ever's yearly membership fee is NT$1,000, which is the same as Starjerry's. Therefore, Starjerry has attracted quite a number of old
members of F4ever. Yesterday, Yan Cheng Xu's assistant indicates , "Up to yesterday, Starjerry has had 5,000 members. Recently, the mailbox was collapsed
due to too many applications."

With NT$1,000 membership fee for each member, if there are 5,000 members, Bao Long's Official Website has obtained NT$5 millions. His ability to attract
money is really powerful. Tomorrow (12), Bao Long plans to have private gathering with Official Fan Club's members to celebrate its establishment. It is
estimated that about 2,000 fans will attend the gathering.

Yesterday, F3's agent, Zhi Xiang Li, indicates that F4's Official Fan Club has 40,000 members and half of them are Japanese. He has heard about

According to the above article ,Jerry really has selling power, SJ already has 5000 paying members. .
Wow, SJ only started in 8/2006. I think this number will increase even more once SJ has on-line credit facility, i know of fans
who are waiting for this facility as its much more convenient & less hassling. Also, there are Jerry fans who had joined F4ever &
paid for the membership fees, so now they are waiting for it expire & then switch to SJ.

According to XC, F4ever has 40,000 members, so he's not worried abt SJ. Well, I think SJ also has no worry based on the tremendous
response, hehehe.

Since Jerry has decided not to guest on any variety shows for promo of The Hospital, CTV has
arrange for an interview of Jerry by Ms Shen, CTV's lead newscaster for normal news. Seems
that CTV's news programs always have top ratings among the same kind of programs.
This is the 1st time CTV news program is promoting dramas broadcasted on CTV.

According to mamy, she read in the news somewhere that Ms. Zhang has signed a contract with Yang Ming Production for being her agent. Hmm, hope that Jerry and Ms. Zhang will work again soon in the future. May be this time, their characters can stay together. BTW, I like Yang Ming's style.

May be Ms. Zhang can openly talk about her feelings now because she has been over Jerry already, as she said that she spent 2 to 3 months after finishing filming to detach from her role and to forget the feelings for Jerry.

Remember Xu An An also expressed after finished filming, she thought about Jerry at times when she saw their pictures.

As for Jerry, he always states that he needs more time to know a girl before starting a relationship. Most importantly, he prefers secretly admiring a girl at the beginning and he is Capricorn, so he won't put in action until he knows that he won't be refused. Therefore, the girl may need to be more initiative by giving him some cues. However, Jerry is a traditional Chinese man that he wants some control when courting a girl, so the girl may not be too forward.


Regarding TH's promotion, I agree that those entertainment programs, even CTV's, won't help TH much by teasing the actors, playing insulting/foolish games, asking the actors to show talents, asking questions about rumors, etc... I also agree that Jerry may receive "special treatment" (not positive) if he goes on these programs, as he rarely goes on this kind of programs that the production teams may find some ways to boost up the ratings even higher. If he starts going on one or two, he will end up going on all of them; otherwise, he may offend the ones he doesn't go. Therefore, the best way is not going on any. Other than Jerry, Dai Li Ren also refuses to go on the entertainment programs. According to the news reports, the 2nd round of promotion will be Director Cai leading some new/young actors to promote on some programs. I think the new/young actors are more appropriate to go on this kind of entertainment programs for exposure.

An elder idol JerryYan and another elder idol Chen Zhao Rong of the new 8pm serials will directly cross swords next week. But whom do the viewers really want to watch? Based on the latest Yahoo Survey, majority of the people “don’t want to see both of them.” However, there are many people who said that they look forward in watching Jerry Yan in “The Hospital” and Chen Zhao Rong’s charms doesn’t even reached one-third of Jerry’s charms.

Its been 3 years since Jerry last appeared at the 8pm time slot. As he now carries the roof for “The Hospital” which will air next Tuesday, it has attracted fans from as many as 9 Asian countries to come to Taiwan. Chen Zhao Rong rested a year for “First Taste of Land under Heaven,” and came again for this year’s summer broadcast of his newest serial. However, the general viewers had always been grown tired of the bad 8 pm serials being shown for the past years, throwing away those dragging and ridiculously extended long dramas. According to the Yahoo survey, 45% of the viewers doesn’t want to watch any of them, 36% of the viewers want to watch “The Hospital”, 10% for “First Taste”, 7% for “To Kill Uncle WCQ” and 5% for “Big wife, Small husband”.

The survey should pass authentication to be able to vote, and only held it for two days because of the possibility of low turnout. Analyzing the 7134 votes, .it was found out that the women dominated the 8 pm viewers with 61 %, male audience with only 35%, 60% came from the northern part while 23% are from the south, with 38% are from the 23-30 year old bracket, and the next are from 19-22 years old. Last week’s results from another website revealed that 66% of the viewers felt that “Unforgettable Wish” “Golden FerrisWheel” both declined in ratings mainly because “they had grown tired of watching it.” Among the most votes acquired was “Golden Ferris Wheel.”

For a long time now, because the 8 pm slot has been filled with dragging dramas, incredibly going away from facts, and had repeatedly washed away the viewers. Because this opinion survey voters mostly came from the north, primarily composed of women, this becomes the most important target consumers of advertisers. However, now being tired of the 8 pm time slot, even if “The Hospital” will boost its energy to get ratings for its less than 40 episodes drama, as short and beautiful as it is, but only 36% of the viewers will watch it. Chen Zhao Rong who became a cook in his serial is even lower with only 10%, enough to say that the viewers would rather watch Korean dramas, and American programs, and not wishing to endure the torment of watching the 8 pm serials again.



JK Note: Based on the survey results, those who wouldn't like to watch The Hospital does not even have a 10% edge from those who would like to watch it. Using Statistics T-test to compare the two samples shows that a minus 10% mean difference is not really significant.

Perfect pair, bagay nga sila...parang gusto ko na rin panoorin yung series. Magaling talaga pumili si Director Cai ng leading lady para kay Jerry. [sarap ipa-photoshop lagay ko yung pic ko.:D

The Jerry Yan Official Fan Club Gathering was a success. According to fans, there were over 1000 fans from TW, HK, USA, Canada, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, Malaysia, and even Mainland China (Please note that most ordinary people still can't travel freely between Mainland China and TW). Jerry wore black shirts and pants, with a white jacket.

At the entrance, fans got their Starjerry ID Card, SJ uniform, and a mouse pad as souvenir. While they were waiting in the hall, TH teasers, preview clips, TH behind the scene bonus, Mia cm, and Mia behind the scene bonus were shown continuously. then TH's theme song sung by Jerry was also played.

After Jerry came out, he firstly greeted fans from different places. Then he introduced the Jerry Yan Official Website - Starjerry.net to fans.

After that, Jerry played the first game with five lucky fans (They are from Mainland China, Japan, TW, HK, and Korea). The five lucky fans were chosen after some eliminations. At the beginning, all the fans were asked to stand up. Then they were told, "The ones with hair longer than Jerry's, please sit down", "The ones without hand/neon signs, please sit down", "The ones with glasses, please sit down", "The ones on row 1, please sit down", "The ones who are not wearing any Mia's jewelry, please sit down", etc.... At the end, only five fans were still standing up. These five were the lucky ones who could play the first game with Jerry. The one who won the game got a necklace as price which was worn by Jerry at the time of activity. The winner got to take it off from Jerry right there and then. (fatty2: arrrgh, that lucky fan).

Then it was the second game. Jerry turned his back facing the fan and his SJ ID Card (No.SJ-TW000001) was hidden under a fan's chair. He needed to walk around to find it based on the volume of fans' applause.

Then it was time for Jerry to take a rest and for the lucky draw for fans who had purchased some products from the Mia counter at the location.

After a break, Jerry took photo with fans at each section.

The last, are you ready? Fans got to go on stage and to shake hands with Jerry. In addition, each of them was allowed to talk to Jerry briefly. When they talked to Jerry, a lot of them told Jerry where they are from. A lot of Japanese fans had tears of joy.

When it was the turn of the fans from Mainland China, after Jerry knew that they had reported the gathering live using a cellphone through
yanchengxu.net's chat room, he greeted other fans in Mainland China by talking on the phone.

According to fans, Jerry's photo on SJ's ID Card is very handsome (kkla: Hoho, can't wait to see mine). The clothes worn by Jerry (when filming TH??) were also shown at the site. Both fans from Japanese and Philippines put on their cultural wear.

When fans finished shaking hands with Jerry, there was a camera set up outside for fans who want to leave a message to Jerry.

When Jerry shook hands with fans, he was standing up the whole time.

According to Xiao Yu, Dong Pei Da Jie (from Mainland China) joked with Jerry, "We are leaving on the 18th. Why don't you send us off at the airport?"

Am1997 (from TW), the other webmaster of nbbbs' Jerry Harbor Board, asked Jerry, "Will you film any new drama this year?"
Jerry answered, "Yes! Yes!" 97 asked again, "I mean this year?" Jerry said, "Dui ah! Dui ah!" However, 97's group is pretty skeptical about it.

I think Jerry and SJ are very thoughtful.

Jerry Yan and Leon Dai was in yesterday¡¦s Shen Chua Hua news program for an interview. According to fans who's are the charity screening venue, she counted abt 19 flowers
bouquet, mostly from Jerry's fans from various countries, the bouquets are big &
there are problems displaying them all together in prominent places.

Jerry is completely engrossed in his acting, in which he now places his hopes for this week's TV broadcast of the very dark "The Hospital." His loving fans will finally see their idol's acting, and reportedly, even the HK fans took $500,000 to buy advertisments on buses to promote their idol's new drama.

In addition, Jerry has set up his official website "Star Jerry" this month and will also offcially open. Although the entrance dues is $1000, yet, at less than half a month, it already reached 5000 members who joined, clearly indicating how formidable Jerry's charms are. In order to thank the fan's love and support, Jerry will launch the official website and celebrate by holding its first members' gathering.

So that his performance in The Hospital will be good, Jerry didnt hesitate to give up his other projects. Focusing on his performance, his purpose is to widen up his showbiz space. When acting, it also causes him many pressures. Now faced with the airing of the drama episodes, he is very nervous. He just wish that his acting will be accepted by the viewers, and not just giving the people a commercial project. The repeated appeals of the 8pm drama "The Hospital" is now beginning to come out! From Cai Yue Xun doing the directing, Jerry Yan , Leon Dai, Janine Zhang and many more acting in "The Hospital", adapted from doctor-author Hou Wen Yong's best-selling novel, with more than a year in the making, and each episode spending $4 MILLION, will finally be shown on Tuesday (August 15). Tomorrow, (13th) its Charity Preview Screening will be held at the International Conference Center.

The Hospital has already been the focus of attention since the beginning of its shooting. At that time, its because KARASAWA TOSHIAKI was introduced as the male lead of the Japanese drama "The Hospital" in its Taiwan broadcast, not only did it started a Japanese drama wave in Taiwan and provided topics to talk about, but it also gave rise for medical groups to experience many shocks.

Yet, Hou Wen Yong's Taiwanese novel with the same name which has been a long bestseller for many years now, and even if many people wished that it should be adapted into a TV serial, yet, financial constraints was too big, that investors left and backed out one by one. Later, there was a wireless TV company which seeked to pursue quality programs, who again gave money to buy the copyrights, and at the same time hiring the services of the famous perfectist Cai Yue Xun to direct it.

The Hospital shooting ended last February this year. Because it is the year's biggest drama, the promotions expenses were never budgeted. Tomorrow it will hold its Asiawide Preview Screening which is also combined with a Charity event called "30Hour Famine Charity Preview Screening" . Among those who will be there is Director Yue Xun, main cast Leon Dai, Jerry Yan and Janine Zhang and about 28 supporting stars who will grace the event. Apart from the Preview Screening, there would also be a Charity auction.

Jerry's Doctor Jacket was sold at auction for $300,000

On the 13th, LZL helped his father promote his new book in Tai Chung. oooopps, shld be NTY30,0000.00 = US$9,000.00. All in all, just for Jerry's items.
the auction amount came to abt US$34,000.00, whew. Jerry's fans came
well-prepared with the monies, the Japanese fans were really strong. btw, when
the fan representing Mainland China went onstage to shake hands with Jerry after
winning 1 of the auction items, said Jerry was very, very happy. i think Jerry
never expect his items cld be auction off at such a high price. i wonder whether
Jerry will ever know how anxious & focused all his fans were on the progress of his career,

I have translated for more than an hour, then my computer got stuck, and everything was gone.
The Charity Press Conference was a big big success and Jerry's fans are superb. There were five items used by Jerry for auction. The final bid prices are:

1. Ah Xu's doctor jacket and name tag: NT$300,000 by a Japanese fan. Jerry put the jacket on her. At the end, the Japanese fan gave the doctor's jacket to Jerry as gift,and Jerry gave her a big hug.
2. Dr. Su's stethoscope: NT$260,000 by yanchengxu.net(NT$180,000) + nbbbs (NT$80,000). Dong Pei Dai Jie went on stage as representative for all the Jerry fans from Mainland China. Later, Sibala represented yanchengxu.net and nbbbs to give the stethoscope to Jerry as gift.
3. A ring; NT$260,000 by a Japanese girl. She wanted Jerry to put the ring on her finger. Later, she also gave the ring to Jerry's mom as gift. According to fans, then, she hugged Jerry tightly with no intention to let go. hahaha...
4. A necklace: NT$200,000 by a Japanese husband who accompanies his wife who is a Jerry fan to TW. Jerry hugged with the wife when the husband took photos for them. Then it was the husband's turn to take photo with Jerry. It is so funny that this husband also bidded on some previous items but without success. The host joked that he wanted to win the bid, so he could get on stage to hug Jerry like other female fans, but actually he bidded the item(s) for his wife. When Jerry realized that the husband did all that for his wife, he bowed to him.
5. Doctor's ID: NT$100,000 by an Indonesian fan. This Indonesian fan also gave the ID back to Jerry as gift.
Yes, the figures are correct. The five items used by Jerry has raised NT$1,120,000. OMG!!!
Are you proud and touched by Jerry fans? They all gave most of the items back to Jerry as gift.
