Last year, a group of four Taiwanese boys invaded our shores through the celebrated chinovela Meteor Garden. Known as the F4, the boy band became so popular they had sold-out concerts, dozens of endorsements and platinum selling albums. One of the is Jerry Yan, undeniably the most popular among his fellow bandmates as the lead Dao Ming Si. And who wouldn’t be familiar with him? With his face plastered on billboards all over the Metro, Jerry conquered women’s hearts, and men’s haircuts and closets. It was only a matter of time that he would establish himself as a bonafide solo artist.

People have been anticipating this, considering that both Vanness Wu and Vic Zhou were able to release their respective album covers. Consistent with his “perfectionist” image, Jerry decided that he needed more time to take voice and piano lessons and choose suitable materials which would appeal to him and to the audience.

For Jerry’s fans in the Philippines, the excruciating wait was over as Sony Music Philippines finally came out with Jerry Yan’s JERRY FOR YOU. The album has two versions, Day and Night, and Sony imported collector’s edition Taiwanese CDs, each featuring a 34-page colored booklet filled with stunning photographs of the Asian heartthrob.

Day was shot in a pristine beach with pictures of Jerry surfing and basking in the sun, showing off his playful side. Whereas Night showcases a darker, more dramatic selection of portraits.

His first single from the album is entitle “One Meter”, a heartwarming pop ballad. “It talks about how when two people love each other, there is no distance between them. But

when love disappears even when there is only a distance of one meter between them, they nay not be able to realize each other’s existence. I may be more than one meter away from you, but I hope you can feel that I am right beside you”. Jerry explains.

The Filipino’s fascination with Taiwanese pop Is far from over, as “One Meter” and the follow-up single, “Gravity”, have consistently topped the MYX Hit List for the past few weeks, both having share of the Number 1 position. JERRY FOR YOU even debuted at Number 11 in the tower records retail charts and is still a contender within the Top 25.

The limited edition Taiwanese imports of JERRY FOR YOU are on its final run in all record bars nationwide. 40 THINGS ABOUT JERRY YAN, HIS ALBUM, and PROMO ACTIVITIES

1. Jerry took three (3) years to prepare for his album, JERRY FOR YOU.

2. Jerry took singing and piano lessons to improve his singing ability.

3. Jerry guested in two (2) concerts before officially promoting his album – (1) Sammy Cheng’s concert in Hong Kong; (2) Jolin’s concert in China – where he first sang his song “One Meter” live.

4. His fans were move to tears when Jerry sang “One Meter” at the concert.

5. The album was pre-sold at a limited edition which had the “One Meter” video, a necklace gift packed in a beautiful folder with Jerry’s pose for MIA, a jewelry brand that he is endorsing.

6. The album comes in two(2) versions; the day and night versions.

7. The day version photo layout shows Jerry’s open, sunny lively side, while the night versions shows his quiet introspective mysterious side.

8. 30,000 units have been sold in the pre-order of sales, and customers are asking for more.

9. Jerry has dedicated group of fans called nbbs.com based in Mainland and Hong Kong.

10. Last Aug. 14-15, the pre-sale promotional activities for the album was held in four (4) sessions; Taichung, Tainan and Kaoshiung on the 14th; and Xi Men Ding on the 15th.

11. Fans overseas came to these activities, spearheaded by nbbs.com

12. Fourteen (14) countries including USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and even Argentina came to join. “The Thousand Fans United Support Tour for Jerry” whose aim was to promote Jerry’s Taiwan solo album and encourage overseas fans to join the different pre-sale promotion activities.

13. 32 of Jerry’s friends in the Philippines went to Taiwan to attend the different activities.

14. The Taichung activities which started at 1:00 pm at Sogo Taichung were attended by more than 400 people.

15. In Taichung, Jerry sang “One Meter” live, and after greeting his fans, hugged a lucky fan and started the stamping/shake hands session.

16.The Tainan session was delayed due to heavy traffic and attended mostly by Taiwanese fans.

17. The Kaoishuing session was the meeting of the two overseas-based groups that swelled to more than 800 fans who had the opportunity to have their memorabilias stamped and to shake hands with Jerry.

18. The Xi Men Ding session was attended by more than 5,000 fans.

19. The activities in Xi Men Ding started with Jerry walking on the red carpet, blessings, and question & answer session with the media.

20. The stamping and shake hands session lasted until 6:30pm, with Jerry in full smile, drenched in his own sweat, but still looking fresh as if he just took a bath.

21. Fans lining up for the stamping session each has more than one album in hand.

22. Due to the huge number of media people, they already enlarged stage was unable to withstand the weight causing one of its corners to give way.

23. The stamping session was delayed by 30minutes because the stage has to be fixed.

24. Sony Music was fined for noise due to uncontrolled screaming by fans.

25. While the stamping event was going on, every single record store in the area went out of stock of Jerry’s album. At one time, a number of fans bought 70 CDs from one store.

26. The clothes of some of Sony Music’s people were torn because of the fans.

27. At some point, Jerry’s hair was pulled and some fans even touched his rear-end.

28. Jerry almost did not manage to get on stage.

29. Jerry’s record company hired 80 student workers to line up along the red carpet to put order into the event.

30. Jerry was insured by his record company in case of accident.

31. Taiwan’s beautiful hostess, Hou, showed up in a while dress to express her support for Jerry and gave him flowers. She even bought the two copies of the album at the event and asked for Jerry’s autograph. Jerry was touched.

32. The following day was Jerry’s “closed door gathering with fans”. Jerry took time to have a private gathering with fans from all over the world.

33. Seeing the fans’ hardwork, Jerry was almost moved to tears.

34. Jerry met up with his fans at the Taipei Parliament Theater.

35.Some fans were too late to register and could not enter, hence, had to stand outside to hear what was going on.

36. The event involved fans from around the world displaying something traditional from their respective nations.

37. The Taiwan fans did a traditional dance, while the Japanese fans did a fan dance in their national costume.

38. The group from the Philippines rendered Jerry song, “Because of You”, with the chorus in Mandarin and a simultaneous video was played where a part showed other Filipinas singing, to the delight of Jerry and the crowd.

39. Jerry commented that the Philippine team performs better than F4.:D

40. According to Jerry, seeing so many fans come to see him made him so emotional that he almost cried.

Millions of portraits welcome guests at F4 Tokyo exhibition

For the "F4 World Exhibition" tomorrow in Tokyo, the hosting unit spent 1 million Yen. An artist was hired to do a huge oil painting of F4. Although the exhibition hasn't started yet, the huge portrait has become the place to worship F4.

F4 became popular in Japan because of "Meteor Garden". The 18-day "Meteor Garden F4 World Exhibition" will start tomorrow at Tokyo Se Gu Parco Museum. Over 100,000 people are expected to go. The hosting unit especially used F4's huge oil painting as the focal for publicizing. Just the painting took a month to complete and cost over 1 million Yen (about HKD$70,000).

The manufacturing unit first invited a professional to draw a portrait of F4 and then painted it. Many F4 fans especially went to admire it and slogans were also written on the posters "F4, wild and loved by everyone, is finally coming!" Posters are everywhere, even elevators of malls have F4 posters.

Because F4's dramas, "Meteor Garden," "Poor Prince," "Love Scar," and others, are going to be shown in Japan successively and their album "Can't Lose You" will be releasing on March 24th. In F4, ZZ is first to go to Japan to promote. Next will be Jerry Yan and the exhibition will release the Japanese version of Jerry's pictorial. A buying upsurge is expected.

ZZ and Da S are in Tokyo promoting "Meteor Garden" and "Mars" and have received big star treatment. After they just landed a few days ago they accepted a series of TV and magazine interviews. The media even went into ZZ's room and saw that there were 20 sets of clothing inside.

"Sheng Tang Jiao Fu"'s designer Yi Teng Da also designed for ZZ. As for Da S, her professional designer also designed for her, including 5 spring outfits and name brand shoes.

Yesterday night ZZ and Da S indeed dressed up to attend a press conference. Because this is the two's first time to promote in Japan plus the fact that they have become the local new favorites, they attracted over 100 reporters, a situation unprecendented. Even outside were hundreds of fans. One can see how popular they are.

Park Eun-Hye and F4 member to act in HK drama

Korean drama "Da Cheng Jin" has been hot all over Asia, helping Park Eun-Hye rise to fame. In the beginning of March a HK manufacturing company took a special trip to Korea to invite Park Eun-Hye to film in a drama. They also would like to have a member of F4 to act in this drama too. The drama will be show in HK, Taiwan and other Asian countries.

According to what's known, Park Eun-Hye has already accepted this HK drama production and will be going to HK and Taiwan to film scenes. This drama is adapted from a Japanese manga "Xiang Ju Yi Ke" (The Moment Of Together a.k.a Maison Ikkoku) and an F4 member will be chosen to be the male lead.

3/13 Japan fans dislike that F4 wears cheap clothing

"Please have Dao Ming Si get rid of that pineapple hairstyle. And F4 belong to rich families, their clothes are too cheap." F4's "Meteor Garden" has caused questioning from Japanese audiences. Producer Angie Cai said, "'Meteor Garden I' had a low budget. Their clothes were indeed cheap from Wu Fen Pu (wholesale clothing market in Taipei) and Jerry Yan's pineapple hairstyle was done according to the manga."

For 3 days, Vic Chou, Da S and others went to Japan to promote "Meteor Garden" and "Mars." The manga "Meteor Garden" is widely known in Japan, many people grew up with it. Many fans saw F4 through TV and they had to admit that Angie's choices were great. They said the four were "too miraculous, it's like they walked out of the book."

It wasn't until yesterday night until Japanese fans had the chance to meet Hua Ze Lei (Vic Chou) and San Cai (Da S) at a fans gathering. Outside the studio more than 1000 chosen fans looped around the Parco store about 3 times. 250 policemen were needed to maintain order.

This was posted in Jerry`s Kingdom...after asking permission from the people involved, the author, Ms. Patricia Formoso, and the moderator-owner of Jerry`s Kingdom, Ms. Cielo Marie Gonzales, I posted it here... I just want to share with you the very heart-warming message for our dear Jerry...here it is....

I seldom post because I am more of a “ reader” than a “writer”, but there comes a time when you want to voice out your sentiments and share your thoughts. I read all the news, reactions, and comments from Jerry`s fans regarding the mobile phone photos. At first, I thought of it as a normal issue, the so called intrigue, controversies, the things that showbiz normally have. But as I read all the fan`s responses, the pain was there, I could read between the lines, they were terribly hurt with the way things had been. If you love Jerry that much you will feel the same thing, regardless of how big or how small the issue is, the bottom line is, you know he is not happy with it, probably he took this news as an everyday thing being in showbiz for quite a long time. But how well do we know Jerry? If somebody would ask me, I could sense that Jerry is hurting, I find him to be a sensitive man, the type of person who easily get hurt but does not want to hurt anybody in return. And one more reason why I am writing this, is my sentiments as a mother. A lot of you already know about my Little Jerry. Recently, my baby got sick, honestly, it scares a whole lot of me, I was crying all the time, I always have sleepless nights. I even talking to him to pass his sickness to Mama, I am much stronger, he is still not. It breaks my heart to hear him crying cause I know he is in pain. The sad part of being a mom is when you know that your child is suffering, be it physically or emotionally. I just thank God that my baby is well now, he is smiling all the time, enough reason for me to smile a lot too. And this leads me to think about how Jerry`s mom take this kind of issue. If his fans were hurt and bothered, what more of his mom. Any mother would do anything to spare her child from pains and hurts. No amount of explanation would ease the pain of a wounded mother`s heart. A mother is a mother. Hurt her child, tears will drop, hit her child, she will fall. And I guess this is the right moment for Jerry to be with his mom, with some of the news going against him, perfect time to be in his mother`s care, no one can harm him when his mom is around, he is with the best person that can protect him, a mother`s love is the best weapon for all the battles we have.

I pray for Jerry and I pray for his mom too.

Jerry, the world is not perfect and life sometimes could be so unfair, your fans know the bumpy roads you travelled on your way to success, you already experienced the hardest part of life`s journey, and there maybe a lot more along the way, just hang on there, gather all the strength that you can get, as they say, in the world we are living…only the strong survive.

Countless people are behind you, you are about to say a prayer, they done it already for you. You may not aware of the inspirations you give to others, but you do, you play a big part in reaching one`s dream. God Bless You, Jerry....

The special bonus in this book is that Bao Long gave an honour tobe the lead actor on this (paper) film (in another words, a non-footage film referring to her book- translator). Thanks for the relationship given

In order to complete the storybook of Hou Pei Cheng, Yan Cheng Xu well cooporated in shooting the movie which Hou Pei Cheng is a screenwriter. They were supposed to be a couple and acted various romantic relationships. Although it was their first job working together, it was obviously seen that they were a boon companion.

It was their first acting as a couple. In the studio, Yan Cheng Xu and Hou Pei Cheng photographed like they were in a close relationship so the photographer could take so sweet pics. To make them being such a realistic couple falling in love, Yan Cheng Xu and Hou Pei Cheng stayed outdoor, going for a walk and holding hands. Yan Cheng Xu was concerned on Hou Pei Cheng, wearing her scarf, touch her hair. While it was raining, he also took off his coat and used it as a shelter so she wouldn't get wet. They could act as they were in passionate love.

However, Hou Pei Cheng ,almost never acted, honestly said that acting was not easy and she couldn't stop laughing. She revealed that "Too much laughing and lots of NG-Scenes! I'm also afraid the schedule might be extended coz of me. Acting is really difficult. I realized that starring like I am really that person in the role is not easy at all"

Although lots of NG-scenes, for Yan Cheng Xu, it is her advantage. He said, "That's her charm, at least, she brought a great atmosphere while working and I think she's sweet and adorable". To relax, Yan Cheng Xu usually kept talking to Hou Pei Cheng. It was their first acting as they have got a romantic relationship. They did not only cooperate but also always admired each other.

Jerry Yan learns Skill, Secretly preparing for his New Job

Ever since Jerry and Lin Zhiling's photos have been spread, there were lots of discussion from the outside world, Jerry is still "a person without a sound". When asked about it, he smiled and said, "It's nothing, my spirits have been very good so i need not reply on it." :D

Jerry have been in the entertainment circle for 4 years. During the early stage, he could not face the media and the outside world, whatever he said, it often got twisted, "I'm also made of flesh, being pricked, i would feel uncomfortable." After these few years of maturity, he can learn not to listen, not to speak, not to reply, stable emotions , difficult to create chaos.

Fans are concern whether Jerry is doing well ? The answer is "Great !". He'll meet his friends to play basketball every other day, go for tea. He seldom watch entertainment news because he doesn't want to spoil his mood ,"Without distractions, i can concentrate on my job."

Few days ago, under the company of his good friend, Vanness Wu and Machi, he went to the park to play basketball. "I have always loved basketball,i'll go to the gym at train at times." In the past, when Jerry was at this kind of open scenes, he would be so nervous that he'll get stomaches. Recently, he worked out and even went to the gym, preparing to recieve his coming new job, he said interestingly, "I have already worked out my 6 pack.":p (aba aba didi,patingin!!!:D )

About the new job ? Jerry gives some clues, he said, "For this role, i'm learning a new skill, but i cannot say what i'm learning, it's a secret."

In the past, Jerry asks for perfection, and he sees everyone with the same perception and it'll bring in furious grumbles at times, he laughed and said, "People, it isn't enough to just work seriously, other than concentrating, also have to think about your colleague's sufferings and pressure. Think of their feelings, just like Andy Lau.:D He's always allow people around him to feel so good, i hope to be able to do that."

Jerry was lucky to be so popular, there was a period of time when he neglected his old friends because he was busy. He laughed and said, after the winds and the rains, he felt the importance of friends. Recently, his job have been relaxed and he have once again got together with them, having tea, chatting. If he don't have time to contact them, he'll use sms. He says his mood is as usual, everyone need not worry.

Jerry and Lin Zhi Ling's picture in bathrobes were revealed. And for the 1st time, LZL responded to their rumour being an item. She felt apologetic towards Jerry and Jerry was said to be deeply affected by this incident. However, thru his managing agent, he denied this. There are people who even said that he and LZL are actually 'sisters' indirectly implying Jerry's sexual preference. Jerry just think that this is really wu liao!

All these started because LZL sent her handphone for servicing and accidentally revealed her pictures taken with Jerry. She apologised to Jerry when the media interviewed her on 19 Mar. She also stressed that Jerry and her are really just good friends.

Today, thru his managing agent, Jerry replied that he is not at all affected by this and he is currently busy accepting a drama filming contract.

was supposed to write this story a long ago, but there is something that telling me not to..probably not at that time, but now, I feel that it`s the right moment to share with you the story and maybe somehow we can make some reflections. This story is all about my friend and how she tackled life on her own.

I met her in one of Jerry`s event here in Manila, she was the one who first initiated our meeting. I admit she was so friendly, she asked my name right away and asked me how much I love Jerry. I must admit too that I am not comfortable talking to strangers, probably she noticed that and she began talking. I answered her questions and I kept quiet, but she did her thing, she was talking about Jerry as if there is no tomorrow. I wanted to tell her to stop cause I know everything she was talking about, but I was never given a chance. In the long run, I found myself, smiling and enjoying her story. She was full of life. She was energetic. And she was funny.

We were together during the event, and I noticed the happiness in her eyes when she looked at Jerry, me too, of course, the happiness of seeing him in person even flowed through my veins, but with her, it was kinda different. I saw some tears in her eyes and she wiped it fast. And when we were to meet Jerry, she was very quiet, I was next to her, I did not hear her say anything to Jerry, and I`m a bit surprised, what happened to the lady who talked like a talk show host awhile ago. I was looking at her intently because she intrigued me, after Jerry gave her the cd, she closed her eyes and I heard her say "Thank You, Lord! I saw Jerry looked at her too.

After the event, I wanted to asked her why she was so quiet when we were up there with Jerry, but I did not have the guts to ask. Again, she talked like a machine gun. This time not just about Jerry, but also about her work. And before we parted ways she told me that she will call me up. And she did. Then it started the friendship. Every now and then we go out with some friends that we have met also during the Jerry event. I can tell that she is a caring friend, she`s always there whenever you need her, and she is so appreciative. Her words are always full of kindness and appreciation. I am glad that I accepted the friendship she offered.

But behind those happy fronts of her, I learned that there are deepest longings and inner sadness. One time in our conversation she flowed it out. She let me know all the hurts and the pains she`s carrying all her life. And my tears keep on falling. She was not crying while she was telling her story. I was the one. Now, it`s clearer to me why she never mentioned about her family, cause there`s nothing to tell. Her parents were separated when she was about nine, she was left in her aunt`s care. Both her parents re-married and had their own children. Her aunt was the one who stood as her parent. She was only given by her parents her allowances. She never knew them. She just happened to know them in pictures. No communication. No bonding. Sad to say, but she was left by her very own parents. But she never took it hardly, she did good in school, she lived a normal kid`s life together with her loving aunt. But even her aunt left her, after her aunt was diagnosed of having breast cancer, a year later, she passed away. At 16, she faced the world, all by herself.

She finished her degree, and she got a nice job. From some friends, she learned that both her parents were abroad, with their respective families. She managed to have a good and decent life on her own. She enjoys every little blessings that come her way.

Until Jerry Yan came into her life. According to her, Jerry brought new phase in her life. With Jerry`s existence, her life became meaningful. He brought excitement and happiness. She made Jerry her source of inspiration, and "medication" for her wounded heart.

And then, I asked her about the event, why she never said anything to Jerry, she paused for a while, and then she answered, she never said anything because she knows she will end up crying in front of Jerry, and she told me, she knows about Jerry more, than her own parents. And she added, that when she saw Jerry, she thanked the Lord because that was the first time that she felt the real happiness that came from her heart.

I didnt know that stories like this can be for real, I thought this would be just fit for televison or movies perhaps, but I was a witness, when she celebrated her birthday, all that came into her house were all her friends, I asked if her mom or her dad called to greet her, and I wanted to kick myself for asking, I saw the sadness in her eyes, she shaked her head, and said that every birthday, that`s her wish, for her parents to just even greet her. I just hugged her and told her that everyday I will greet her and send her messages. She smiled and then again, she thanked me for being on her birthday.

I was thinking if I can do the way things she did. If I can be as strong as she is, if I can be just as successful as her. Maybe I woudnt, because the one like her is so rare, a survivor in all aspects of life.

And I`m always praying to God to give her all the happiness..

Now I understand why she is so appreciative with every little help that I do to her, because all her life she is doing everything on her own.

Jerry, you may not know the great inspiration you are giving to others....but thank you.....thank you, Jerry, for making my friend so happy...

Meteor Garden Taiwan Tour hot in Japan

"Meteor Garden"'s popularity has reached Japan. Many sakuras has fallen for F4's attractiveness. The fast-thinking Japanese businessmen are taking this opportunity to have a "Meteor Garden" tour to get some of the "Taiwan wind wealth." Dao Ming Si's mansion in the series and even the bar Ken Chu has worked at has become tourist spots.

Two years ago "Meteor Garden" broadcasted in Japan. BS satellite TV and 20 other cable channels were the first to "build the foundation." Although it wasn't broadcasted nationwide, but it already assimilate many faithful fans. It wasn't until recently did it start to show nationwide on "Japan TV."
