Phuket plans tsunami ¡®party¡¯

Phuket authorities are planning a big bash on December 26 to commemorate the tsunami and have invited old-school rocker Eric Clapton and Taiwanese boy band F4 to perform.

There are also solemn ceremonies planned during the ¡°Light Up Patong Beach¡± event, including lighting 100,000 candles on the beach on the evening of 26 December.

The event will be staged one year after the tsunami struck six southern provinces, along with other parts of Asia, killing more up to 300,000 people.

Provincial chief executive Anchalee Vanich Tephabutra said the event would include ceremonies for the different faiths and religions of those who perished. Phuket would invite an Andaman Sea area artists group to organise the candlelight event.

The show is planned despite protests from hotel operators, who say the timing is bad ¨C December 26 is in the midst of the peak tourism season. They fear such ceremonies would remind visitors of the tragedy and cast a pall over business.

However, a tourism industry source said other operators like the idea. They asked TAT to make the event as grand as Verdi¡¯s opera ¡°Aida¡± at the site of the Luxor massacre in Egypt, the impressively arranged funeral for Lady Diana, or the September 11 memorial services held each year in New York.

Some businesses also want the agency to invite Elton John to play ¡°Candle in the Wind¡±, Kiri Te Kanawa to sing the ¡°Ave Maria¡± and top Asian stars from China, India and Thailand to perform.

TAT said recently that Taiwanese boy band F4 and diva Coco Lee would perform at the event. Popular Thai singers and celebrities will also step on stage.

A similar event was held in April when the World Tourism Organisation hosted a recovery plan seminar attended by national tourism ministers from various countries.

Suwalai Pinpradab, director of TAT¡¯s Phuket office, said the Authority was preparing a budget for the event.

TAT plans to organise Tsunami Memorial Day as one of a series of big events from December 25 to 28. It has invited leading event organisers in Thailand to submit proposals for organising the extravaganza.

Tourism Minister Somsak Thepsuthin is due to talk today with TAT executives and private sector representatives about plans for the event and how to proceed with Andaman recovery plans.

on a more trivial matter, the likelihood of the bench event being cancelled or postponed is getting higher by the minute. these are very uncertain times and i would rather that jy not risk coming here. but am still hoping and praying that everything will turn out ok in the end (ang hirap yata magpa-refund ng plane fare sa travel agent, no :p ).

Nicholas leaves Coke's stable of celebrities, which includes girl groups Twins and S.H.E., track star Liu Xiang, and actress Cecilia Cheung. He joins Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai, Aaron Kwok, F4, and David Beckham at Pepsi. Decide for yourself whether his coolness quotient will rise or fall.

There were signs, of course. Back in 2000 Nicholas was fraternizing with the enemy, in the form of pop princess and Pepsi representative Faye Wong. There was a minor scandal when Nic tossed a Pepsi can at paparazzi when he and Faye were making their getaway. And ever since his run-in with the law in 2002 there have been murmurs that he would leave Coca-Cola when his contract was up.

Who's next? Pepsi may have snapped Nicholas up because one of its stars, Jay Chou, has been photographed drinking a beverage made by President, a Taiwanese company.

Yesterday, Jerry Yan's phone was unattended.
He didnt contact any of his co-workers.


Lin Zhi Ling is injured. But her rumored boyfriend Jerry Yan has not contacted her since noon. Co-workers said they couldnt find him. Earlier, reporters tried to contact him through his phone, but it was off. His manager said, when Jerry is on vacation, he puts his phone aside. Also probably he still doesnt know Lin Zhi Ling's condition and feels sorry for the A-1 model's injuries. Actually,not being able to be concerned on his "Robe friend" first.

Taiwan's famous model Lin Zhi Ling was photoshooting a commercial for Hu Fu Pin early yesterday morning when she fell off a horse and was injured when she was stepped on by the chest. This caused slight ribs fructures. A doctor treated her with first aid for half hour before she was rushed to the hospital. Presently, she is still under observation at the hospital. Lin Zhi Ling's mother, Wu Ci Mei got so worried after learning the accident. She left immediately to see her daughter. Hu Fu Pin company said Lin Zhi ling was making 9 Ad photoshoots yesterday. The scene was that she was fastly horseback riding in the fields. Lin Zhi Ling herself was excited to ride a horse as she had never rode a horse before in photos. After riding for 10 minutes, the horse suddenly stammped its foot wildly, that threw off Lin Zhi Ling and stepped on her chest. Then she was immediately rushed to the hospital. A doctor who attended her first aid said she may have six rib fructures.The lungs also have been slightly injured. Luckily, she is out of danger.


Insured for 35 Million
In additon, the local hospital staff had arranged the insurance claim for Lin Zhi Ling, indicating in the form that she is 32 years old. A young hospital doctor joked, "She's already 32, yet she still has so much fire"("fire" meaning being so famous). But Hu Fu Yin company said that they had given 35 million accident insurance for Lin Zhi Ling. At the same time, they will give her the best medical services as her health is most important.

Earlier, she has plans to go to Japan for a week if not for this horse falling accident. The work will now be postponed. Her manager's company said that Lin Zhi Ling's present condition is now stable. She only has chest injuries. If the doctor will allow, she will be able to return to work immediately. But she still must rest for at least two weeks.

Lin Zhi Ling's mom Wu Ci Mei, after learning of her daughter's accident felt bad and said that this is already her second accident. Most likely, the drama will now speedup the flashback scenes. Yesterday (July 8) the drama crew chose bamboo scenes in eastern Xin Chu City while driving away to take photos. By the middle of the month, Zhang Fu Jian of the drama will soon go to the Mainland to shoot a movie.These past two days, he comes to Taiwan earlier than expected for his scenes. Meanwhile to make an impression, Da Xin Ji pulls out his beltbag and buy drinks to all the cast and crew. The staff smiled, "Uncle Da Xin Ji is really serious".

The drama has began shooting for almost a month now. The drama crew has all praises for Jerry Yan's working attitude. A planning manager was pleased to say, "Jerry Yan is very professional.In additon, I can see him very eager to learn. He dont go out during breaks but just sits back for the next scene. The drama has began shooting for almost a month now. The drama crew has all praises for Jerry Yan's working attitude. Lin Zhi Ling is injured. Her close friends started to send mails, concerned of her condition. Jerry Yan and Huang Li Xing and four others joined all others in wishing for her speed recovery. Tao Zi Zhu wasnt joking but said, "Luckily, she wasn't injured in Mongolia, otherwise she would have met cruel Mongolian doctors."

The other day, Jerry lost contact. His management claimed they couldnt reach him. However, his close friends disclosed that Jerry still cares much for Zhi Ling and made a phonecall to her. Huang Li Xing, upon learning of the accident, felt depply concerned for Lin's injuries from the falling accident. He astonishly expressed, "I really felt bad for her, although I heard it was not that serious. I hope she recovers soon." When Bai Yu Ming recieved a call, he akwardly laughed and said, "I'm not really familiar with her but I wish for her speedy recovery. "

Huo Pei Cen, upon learning of the accident yesterday then concernly called Lin's phone. However, her phone was off. He just listened to the news to know if she's okay. Tao Zi Ling just learned the accident from the 10 oclock news. She then asked the company where they work together to send her best wishes. She said, "I guess she shouldnt get mad she rode a stray horse. I hope she recovers soon. "

Jerry Yan's Bai Se Ju Ta Room Problem solved

Zhong Shi's Bai Se Ju Ta is at the fliming rush stage. Other than the hospital as their main fliming scene, the show's main male lead, Jerry Yan has lots of scenes in his home as well. Thus, the place he stays in becomes extremely important and has to suit his character. The fliming crew specially borrowed a house of a interior designer, simple and bright was Director Cai's requirements.

Director Cai, who is very strict on the scene of fliming, gave this important task to his sister, who takes the art subject to be in charge of the props. Other than the professional operation theatre and the hospital, Jerry Yan's house was also one of the most headache thingy. In the end, she chose the house of e interior designer, they got to borrowed his shelter and the crew had to move further far away from other fliming scenes in order to flim in the house.

As the role that Jerry plays is is Su Yi Hua has a very go-by-the-book character, his house is required to be relax, simple, comfortable, thus, white was it's colour theme in the show. Open spaces and bright gives people a very comfortable feeling and it was the right feeling for the role.

The show have been flimed for around a month and the crew has all praises for Jerry's work attitude. Ao Jun Yi, the assistant director said, "Jerry's very professional, and it's obvious that he wants to learn more. He would still sit in the fliming when there aren't any of his own scenes to see the acting of Zhang Fu Jian and Dai Li Ren.

Although Lin Zhi Ling repeatedly denied relationship with Jerry Yan, maintaining they are just "good friends", the "good friend" is in the opposite shore when the accident occured unexpectedly. Although Lin Zhi Ling repeatedly denied relationship with Jerry Yan, maintaining they are just "good friends", the "good friend" is in the opposite shore when the accident occured unexpectedly. How did Jerry felt? Reporters sent a telegram to Jerry's manager Yao Yi Jun. When Yao Yi Jun recieved followup calls from reporters, he surprizingly said," The matter? It's just we are all busy, so we can't pay her a visit. I'm really sorry."


Actually, Jerry had already quietly called her on his own (check out the news on the 10/7/2005 Appledaily) to check how she is without making a fuss. He doesnt need to publisice that he already called up Zhi Ling.
The reporters are so desperate for ANY gossip on Jerry saying he didn't call when in fact they couldn't track him down, then here's the news that he already called her...

i'm glad to see that Jerry's relationship with LZL is as good as ever..he really cares to his GOOD FRIEND...instead of sending a message via his management as many other artists did, he preferred to call her on his own without informing his managers....awwww...sweet!!! :D

comments on Jerry Yan's Bai Se Ju Ta Room Problem solved issue

As the role that Jerry plays is is Su Yi Hua has a very go-by-the-book character, his house is required to be relax, simple, comfortable, thus, white was it's colour theme in the show. Open spaces and bright gives people a very comfortable feeling and it was the right feeling for the role.

JYP, is it true that it would only be on thursday that Bench will be confirming his flight?



If it is, my fellow JMs found these info and now through process of deduction (hahaha! JM skills in finding where would jerry be is getting better!! ) we can more or less narrow down his possible flight schedule:

MANDARIN AIR (Flight No. AE 823) has only two scheduled flights from Taiwan to Cebu. Thursday and Sunday (depart Taipei @ 4:25pm. arrive Cebu @ 8:05pm) Sunday is eliminated because the affair is on Friday so that would left us with thursday flight. But how will Jerry arrive on Thursday if its only Thursday when Bench will be confirming his flight? (Am I making sense here?)

This leaves us to think that Jerry would use the NAIA instead of Cebu International Airport. on a FRIDAY MORNING flight. and These are the only possible flights:

1. CHINA AIR (Flight No. CI 631) depart Taipei @ 7:55am, arrive Manila @ 9:55 am
2. EVA AIR (Flight No. BR 271) depart Taipei @ 9:30am, arrive Manila @ 11:30am (this is the one he used last November,2004 )
3. PHIL AIRLINES (Flight No. PR 897) depart Taipei @ 10:00 am, arrive Manila @ 12:00noon)

As a Fil-Chinese JM is searching the passenger lists at NAIA through her contacts, there is still no Jerry Yan, Yan Cheng Xu or Liao Yang Zhen travelling on these flights on Thursday or Friday. Is he using a different name? Or he hasnt bought his ticket yet?
